Better than the example of my 9 year old sister dragging my 7 year old ass out of bed to jump across the end of her bed so she could count sheep.

A bit of trivia: A lot of people don’t understand what it means to “Count sheep” to sleep. In reality it’s an Insomnia treatment method where you pick a random topic where there might be several examples that fit the criteria “Disney witches” for example or “Films that feature Dracula as a character.” It can be anything at all. "Movies with Danny Elfman musical scores.“ You don’t Google the answer. You lay there and try to think of things that fit the topic you chose and count them. That’s how you really “Count Sheep.”

#she told me a story today about how she used to make me read books and then give me tests #but not like #tests #shit like what was the fourth word of the third sentence?#what was the second color mentioned?#and i would apparently get super angry about this 😂#i forgot that but she forgot teaching me to ride my bike that same year #also i already do the actual method? but alphabetically #like name a cat breed for every letter #name a character or location in a series for every letter #huh

#did I mention that she’s really sad when she isnt trying to forget the unbearable boredom of being immortal #I heard this song to an animatic and I thought it really suited her so I added it to her playlist lol #I normally draw her in fun bright colors but a lot of the sadder parts of her story get pushed to the side #even if none of my oc stories are really fleshed out I know she has an insatiable nature. her star motif is loosely tied to this I think?#ungrounded and instead of ambitious she can just never find contentness with what she likes or what shes doing #she can definitely be happy though!!! but it always feels fleeting that shes scared the rest of her life is gonna be spent chasing highs #which is way less exciting when u think abt how long you’re gonna be around before everything loses its excitement #what tuck everlasting does to a mf #I think this also kinda bleeds into her relationships and tries to keep her distance so she doesnt get tired of someone she actually likes #it can be confusing since she can be really cuddly utterly in love one second and then kind of distant the next. but she still loves you #her brother I think is on the other end of the spectrum where he tries to live in the moment to avoid thinking abt the future #the avoidance siblings #my oc #oc #Augusta #doodles #my art #myart

#salamence #THIS one is a good one. someone else mentioned the chin and claimed they look like lord farquaad. and would say “why YES this is Divine” and #i didn't like how accurate that was. anyway dragon/flying 4x weakness to ice my belovèd. if anyone says ice is bad #keep in mind how much of the competitive landscape it totally nullifies. ice is like. probably my second favorite type. behind electric #even though none of this is about salamence. they've got the whole primary colors thing going on but minus yellow #red and blue. red white and blue. american pokémon? big red wings that're just Flat. i really dunno what's happening here i just know it's #supposed to be really good in competitive. and also they got a paradox form which i Guess TPC is trying to market as totally new unrelated #pokémon but i'm always going to call them “paradox hariyama” and such instead of ~iron hands~ or whatever they're supposed to be called #don't want my pokémon names to have two words in them……

#bandit's doodles #grian #mumbo jumbo #waffle duo #not much to say about the doodle so I’m jumping straight to the bandit review™#The 2 brushes it had were silly #The basic pen one and the ugly marker one #I liked it for a second then I opened my eyes and realized no it's actually not good #it looks like a dying dry erase marker #And idk about you but dying dry erase markers don't have the most appealing texture to me #it was good for drawing a little messed up grian though so that's fun #moving on from the atrocious marker #It had more than 3 colors so that was nice #but still pre saved colors grind my gears a little bit #I didn't really play with other features #but from what I saw they were pretty normal #Just text #Shapes #That stuff #but the eraser isn't really an eraser #its more like just a white brush #So when you select an area you erased over #It will move the part you used the eraser on #If that makes any sense #Honestly 7/10 aside from the dirt brush and eraser it was pretty fine #ALSOi just heard grian mentioned in mumbos newest video #any scrap of waffle duo is enough for me #im grateful #im fed #And I'm happy

series 3 is so frustrating because there is like a shining core of pure diamond underneath the problems . like conceptually it rocks so incredibly hard. but the problems

#dr who #i am being so honest when i say ten should have gotten on his knees and begged for simm!master's life #they should have framed the bit between him and martha's mom so different #like yes it is 10000% in character that the doctor with his bleeding heart and loneliness wouldn't want to kill him #even after everything that happened. because he's the only person he has left. 'i forgive you' was PERFECT.#but literally anyone else that suffered from what the master did. Deserves to rip him to shreds. so very obviously #and like i know.i KNOW that i am watching the 'funny immortal alien saves people through time and space' show #but i actually despise the doctor being framed as like an all powerful savior. or treated like one. even for a little bit. is Annoying #the first part of the series 3 finale having martha be humanity's last hope was SO GOOD bc it like kind of set her up as like #having to grapple with all that responsibility and attention like the doctor does. everyone's lives are in her hands. so crunchy #but when it like slides into 'everyone pls believe in our specialest boy in the world The Doctor <3' it just. falls flat #i feel like with a couple tweaks here and there in the execution and like actual fuckinnn people of color in the writer's room #series 3 would be PEAK media. but as it is it's just. falling short.#i do really appreciate martha deciding to leave ten on her own though. first of all. qpp down. second of all #she's realized that she can't keep traveling with him. bc (as i mentioned) hes someone who simultaneously needs saving #and refuses to be saved in the ways that matter. Four (Iris):

-He/They, any

-nickname created and used by the minish/picori

-passionate about his opinions

-blacksmithing is a job and hobby for them

-capable of socializing but doesn’t require it

-loves to read

-levelheaded both in battle and in (relative) peace

-splitting either results in a negative or purely confused reaction from people so they tend to keep silent about it

Green (Jade/Sage/Forrest):

-They/Them, always

-genderfluid; changes names but not pronouns with gender

-the most balanced emotionally and logically

-focuses on the big picture rather than the details, but can acknowledge they exist

Vio (Topaz):

-He/Him, always

-nickname chosen lovingly by Shadow; only used by them

-intellectually focused; shows outwardly

-takes misinformation very seriously; easily sidetracked by this

Blue (Cypress/Lana):

-She/Him, swaps

-occasionally uses other names when feeling dysphoric but doesn’t have specifically labeled genders

-intense feelings; most often some form of anger

-honest to a fault sometimes

-fast to accusations and assumptions
