love them being foils in the sense that all Psychic knows how to do is give and all Void knows how to do is take.

pair this with their literal species. Psychic is a being made of energy. He's constantly emitting warmth and power, using it for others' sake. Giving himself away until there's nothing left. He considers his entire purpose to be this, being a source for everyone around him to draw energy from. He is the very antithesis of Void. His entire philosophy is to be of use to others, to put whoever he's serving first. That's why I assume he's physically warm to the touch, because he's emitting that energy all the time. Psychic cannot exist without a purpose to serve, to give, that's just who he is.

Void is a pocket of nothing. He is the very absence of space or time. He cannot radiate the same warmth Psychic does. He cannot serve others' interests. It's towards him that all purpose must lead, and everything has to come back to him at some point. He's a vacuum, literally and figuratively. It shows in his mindset too, how he's completely self-centered. He genuinely doesn't comprehend any world where he is not the center of everything. That's why we all headcanon him to be cold to the touch, the total opposite of Psychic. He's absorbing all the heat, all the light that the stars around him provide, and displaying it as his own.

I wonder how much of the energy Void has taken in since their first meeting has been Psychic's.

I talked about this like a year ago or something. Psychic sees the world for what it is and paints himself as someone who can never give back enough. Void sees the world in himself, frames his entire purpose around the mindset that he can never take enough.

They're such foils and yet they manage to have so much in common. Spending so much of their lives alone, yet their different responses to companionship when they finally receive it. How they manage to bond over their mutual hate for BF, albeit for totally different reasons.
