farm girl- o.piastri
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: what's a better way to a guys attention than shouting at him for being too slow?
pairing: oscar piastri x fem! clarkson farm, farm-hand!! reader
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
You weren’t the biggest fan of Jeremy’s reality show, but you enjoyed working the farm, so, as per your agreement, you wouldn’t be featured in episodes as much as possible. You were so far removed in fact, that you didn’t even know that someone else was driving the tractor when you shouted for them to ‘stop being shit’ at driving it.
“Y/n!” Jeremy shouted. “Stop being rude!”
“What?” you scoffed. “I swear to god, if Finn doesn’t fucking speed up I’m going to-” you started, but stopped yourself when you saw none other than Oscar fucking Piastri in the driver’s seat with an embarrassed and guilty smile on his face. “Sorry,” you offered, internally cursing yourself. “Continue on!” you announced before turning back and continuing on with more of your duties.
Oscar looked after you as you walked, an amused smile on his face. “Who’s that?”
“Y/n, one of our farmers,” Jeremy explained, a chuckle on his lips. “She’s… fiery.”
“She’s damn good at her job!” someone from off-camera chimed in, making everyone chuckle.
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
As his day went on, he caught glimpses of you. You were tending to animals, or showing someone around, or just generally being beautiful and mysterious. He was desperate to know more. He asked a million questions about you, and he was sure everyone was aware of his not-so-secret crush on you.
“You should ask her out, she likes F1,” Jeremy advised as they sat down to lunch. “You’re one of her favourite drivers.”
He still got surprised when people knew him, forgetting sometimes that he is, in fact, a public figure. “Yeah?”
Jeremy laughed. “Yeah,”  he scoffed. “Kids these days…”
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
When his day of hard labour came to an end, he made it his plan to seek you out, humoring Jeremy’s theory.
“Hi,” he smiled, standing just behind you.
You startled, jumping up from whatever it was that you were doing and cursed. “Fucking hell! Announce yourself!” You let it slip before you could really stop yourself, but you didn’t feel all that bad, he should have announced himself.
He laughed. “What did you think I was trying to do?!”
“Scare the shit out of me?” you scoffed. “I don’t know.”
“I’m Oscar,” he held out his hand to be shaken. “Nice to meet you.”
You took his hand, shaking it quickly. “Y/n. Sorry about the whole…  tractor thing.”
“Nothing but a bruised ego,” he chuckled. “So what do you do around here?”
You shrugged. “A bit of everything, I guess.”
He nodded, and you both stood in silence for a minute.
“Did you need something?” you questioned. “-Not to be rude, or anything, I just… I've got to get back to the rest of my stuff so… yeah.”
He smiled, enjoying the fact that you were as awkward as him. “Can I get your number?”
You stared at him for a second, then you broke out into one of the most beautiful smiles he’d ever seen. “Why?”
He stepped closer to you. “I think you’re really pretty,” he explained. “And I want to get to know you more.”
You nodded. “Give me your phone.”

Claribel knew the curse was unbreakable. Okay, that wasn’t technically true. Technically, all magic that could be done could be undone; the trick was to make the condition of its undoing extremely difficult to achieve. The particular curse Claribel had placed, that no man would ever fall in love with Marina Kedar again, could only be undone upon the death of the dragon of Shadowpeak Mountain, and since that wasn’t going to happen for five hundred years, which was far longer than Marina, being a human, would live, the curse was for all intents and purposes unbreakable.
This would have been amazing and Claribel’s coven would have been praising her for a job well done… if only she hadn’t put the curse on Marina Kedar rather than Martina Kedar. Martina had absolutely deserved the curse, given her cruel habit of seducing young men, insisting they give up everything and everyone they cared about for her, and then abandoning them. Marina, on the other hand, was a genuinely lovely person who did not by any means deserve to be unloved for her entire life.
“I think you’re about to get your ass kicked,” Claribel’s raven familiar, Ferdinand, announced as he flew in her window. “Marina Kedar is riding into these woods, and she has a sword.”
“Fuck.” Claribel sighed. “I guess I’d better face the music. If she kills me, tell the rest of the coven what happened.”
“And not peck her eyes out?” Ferdinand looked at Claribel in disbelief.
“I just ruined her chances of a happy marriage,” Claribel pointed out. “If she wants to kill me, she is completely justified.”
Ferdinand’s retort was interrupted by a knock on the door.
Claribel spoke up as soon as she opened the door. “I know an apology isn’t going to cut it, but—“
“An apology? Are you kidding?” Marina Kedar stared at Claribel in shock. “I came here to thank you!”
“Thank me?” Claribel shook her head in disbelief. “I put a curse on you! No man can ever love you again!”
“Exactly!” Marina’s face spread in what was honestly the most beautiful smile Claribel had ever seen. “You saved me from all my annoying suitors! Do you know how annoying it is to have three different guys following you everywhere you go with flowers and terrible sonnets?”
“You don’t want to get married?” Claribel had never met a village maiden who didn’t want a husband.
“If I could marry another woman, maybe,” said Marina. “With our current laws, absolutely not.”
Claribel breathed a sigh of relief. “So you didn’t come here to kill me?”
“Of course not!” Marina shook her head vehemently. “Like I said, I came here to thank you. Now that I’m under this curse, my parents will never pressure me to pick a suitor again.”
“Do you want to stay for dinner?” Claribel blurted out. She hadn’t exactly planned to say that, but she definitely didn’t regret it.
“I was just about to ask if I could treat you to dinner!” Marina smiled that gorgeous smile again. “I figured that’s the least I could do for the beautiful witch who just gave me the best gift I’ve ever gotten.”
“I’m making jambird stew tonight, but you can treat me tomorrow.” Claribel’s cheeks flushed as it occurred to her that Marina had just called her beautiful. “Sharing my dinner tonight is the least I can do for the beautiful maiden whose life I didn’t actually ruin.”
Marina did stay for dinner that night, and Claribel did go down to the village for dinner the next night, and two nights turned into many, many more.
Twelve years after Claribel first placed her curse, she and Marina became the first two women in the kingdom to marry each other instead of men.
A witch found out to her horror that she had somehow cursed the wrong person. Expecting retribution when the victim came knocking at her doorstep, she was surprised to find them rather pleased with the curse's effects.

“Today?” Kara said, “really?”
There was a silence in the house, as a pall had fallen over it. Everyone was gathered for the festivities and the turkey in the oven was filling the house with a delightful scent that made Lena’s mouth water. Thanksgiving was supposed to be the one day that Lena could forget about her waistline and just indulge herself. She’d been “helping” Eliza along with Alex and Kelly and Nia while the boys and Kara were out back tossing a football and pretending that she and J’onn didn’t have an outrageous advantage over Brainy and James.
Now Kara was standing in the living room as the news broke in over the football game and announced that a rampaging alien was tearing apart Rio de Janiero.
“Guys,” Kara said solemnly, “I have to go.”
Lena’s heart sank. She knew better than to protest. Kara had already glumly removed her glasses and was about to go grab her suit. Lena reached out and curled a hand around her bicep.
“Please be careful, darling.”
Lena could feel eyes on her back, Eliza and Alex and Nia all watching, silently urging one of them to just finally make a damned move. Lena *lived with her*, for God’s sake, and had since she sold her penthouse. They shared breakfasts and Kara gave her foot rubs and still they were stuck in this maddening limbo without defining what and who they were and it seemed neither dared to ask.
Lena knew what she wanted the answer to be, and how it ached inside her.
Kara glumly trudged down the stairs in full Supergirl regalia, regal and imposing as ever and just as beautiful. Since she’d revealed her identity to the world she’d been freed from the constraints of having to disguise herself, and a few months ago had buzzed the left side of her head, having trimmed the rest to shoulder length, and Lena longed to run her fingers over the fuzz.
She’d also altered her suit again. It no longer had sleeves. Every time Lena saw her, it felt like her soul was going to escape her body.
Kara came over and put her hands on Lena’s arms.
“I’ll be fine,” she said.
Lena gulped down her anxiety.
“I can hear your heart, you know.”
“Just be careful. Please.”
Kara started to turn. Maybe it was the audience, maybe she was just tired of being mired in this thick tension between them. Maybe it was the wine. She grabbed Kara’s arm again and sprang forward to brush her lips against Kara’s cheek, dangerously close to Kara’s mouth.
“For luck.”
Kara’s eyes flew open wide and she gaped at Lena.
“I’ll be b-back,” she said, and swept out the door, cape billowing majestically.
God how Lena hated that cape, sometimes. It blocked the view.
What had been a festive gathering grew quiet. Everyone gathered around the television to see what was going on, save Eliza who politely excused herself to the kitchen, hiding tears that everyone politely ignored.
Lena joined her. She was making the gravy.
“A life of fighting isn’t what I wanted for her,” she said.
“Me either.”
They were alone in the kitchen and Eliza was whisking a roux as she waited for the raw flour smell to cook off.
“Lena, do you have feelings for my daughter?”
Lena swallowed hard, grabbing a knife to chop carrots for glazing so that she’d have something to occupy your hands.
Eliza’s voice was soft, something wistful in her eyes. “You must know how she feels about you.”
Lena had to stop to avoid slicing open her finger, almost feeling the touch of the blade. She cleared her throat.
“I do,” she admitted. “I very much do. If I’m going to be honest with myself, I’ve been in love with her for years.”
Eliza nodded, utterly unsurprised. “Kara is very hesitant about delicate things. When she first started living with us, she used to rip doorknobs off and break things at random while she learned to control her powers. She’s probably told you about Streaky.”
“She has.”
Eliza began pouring stock into the pot, her whisk making soft scraping sounds.
“She’s still that way about everything. Afraid if she pushes too hard, she’ll break something.”
Lena nodded. It was at that moment that Alex stormed into the kitchen. “She’s back.”
Immediately, Lena rushed out into the living room. Kara trudged through the door, and sighed.
“He got a few good hits in but he’s contained.”
Lena could only stare. Her suit was covered in scorch marks and even worse, Kara was bruised, her knuckles especially battered. She smiled weakly.
“I just need a minute to clean up.”
With a deep sigh, Kara turned and headed upstairs.
Lena could feel the eyes on her before she glanced back. Eliza motioned a silent “Go”, and Lena went.
She knocked at the bathroom door.
“Lena?” said Kara.
She always knew. Super-senses.
“It’s me. Can I come in?”
Brief hesitation, then, “yes.”
Lena stepped inside and closed the door. Kara was washing her hands, the injuries already vanishing. Lena didn’t care. She took Kara’s hands anyway, gently washing them under warm water.
She then fumbled at the clasps and unhooked Kara’s cape, and folded it. It was surprisingly heavy, made of a dense material from her long lost home. Setting it aside, she rested her hand against Kara’s deliciously broad back, silently waiting for permission.
“Go ahead,” Kara said in a shaky voice.
Lena freed the tab of the hidden zipper and pulled, baring Kara’s expansive muscular back, and peeled the suit away from her shoulders. Kara had nothing but a sports bra and boxer briefs on beneath. She finished shimmying out of the suit on her own.
Lena has seen Kara in bathing suits, or caught flashes of her changing, but this was different, somehow more intimate. There was a vulnerability, not just in the woman disrobing but in the goddess showing Lena her bruises. Lena gently touched a black and purple mark on Kara’s flank.
“This one hurt, didn’t it.”
“It always hurts. I can feel it, I just pretend I don’t.”
Lena looked up at her and met her gaze.
“Kara, may I kiss you?”
Kara blinked and Lena could actually feel her tremble.
“Yes,” she breathed.
Lena rose on her tiptoes and pressed their lips together very softly, with a deliberate slowness. When Kara kissed her back and pulled her into a delicate embrace, hands bracketed low on her hips, Lena felt like she could fly.
Kara was looking at her in wonder.
“Was that for more luck?”
Lena felt bold. She had seize the moment now, before she lost her nerve and they fell back into tense limbo.
“Kara Danvers, if you want to, you can get very lucky tonight.”
Her eyes were wide and Lena grinned.
“I umm, I…”
Lena trailed a finger down the center of Kara’s muscular chest.
“Dinner is almost ready, darling. Take your shower. Just remember to save room for dessert.”
Kara favored her with a delighted smile as Lena stepped out of the bathroom and padded down the stairs.
When she reached the ground floor, everyone was pointedly focused elsewhere, either on the football game or cooking, and Kelly and Nia were playing cards at the dining room table.
Alexa, though, handed her a beer. Lena took it with a shaking hand.
“Fucking finally,” Alex whispered. “Just don’t get too loud tonight, okay? Go down to the beach if you can’t control yourself.”
Lena’s eyes narrowed.
“I hate you.”
“Love ya too, sis-in-law,” said Alex.
“We’re not married yet.”
Alex tipped back her brew. “Six months, tops.”
Lena took a long pull on her beer and scowled.
(It ended up being four months)

Today we got some news regarding a big change for the Ian Flynn's Q&A podcast, the BumbleKast. As outlined in a blog post by Ian, starting in 2025, all Sonic-related questions submitted to the show will first need to be screened by Sega. (I have to assume this is also why Ian announced they'll no longer be doing live Q&As starting next year.)
Frankly, I can't say this is particularly surprising.
While the BumbleKast is ostensibly a podcast about Ian's work as a freelance writer for all sorts of things, and also just a place for him to shoot the shit about stuff he likes, he's still predominantly seen as The Sonic Guy. Sure, he also does a bunch of other freelance work for other series, and original comics like Drogune, and he's also the narrative mastermind for the whole Rivals of Aether franchise these days, but it's his insights into what goes on behind the scenes with Sonic that people really care about. Your average Sonic fan can't just go up to Iizuka or whoever and ask him a question about the current state of the lore, but Ian's inbox is always open.
Because of this, I've thought a lot about the BumbleKast's place in the fandom and The Discourse in recent years. Ian wants to be as open and honest as he can about his work, and I think that's admirable. To me, hearing about creators' struggles and the shit they go through just to get a story out the door tends to make me sympathize with them more. Sometimes a story just doesn't turn out as well as you'd hoped, but you're on a tight deadline and all you can do is move on to the next project. I've even softened a bit on Penders over the years as he's shared more about the absurd situations and odd creative demands made behind the scenes at Archie. Unfortunately, not everyone has that mindset.
Ian's basically always had obsessive haters who were eager to take everything he says out of context to try and stir up shit, but that used to be contained by the niche nature of the Archie comics. Most of the fandom didn't give a shit about what Ian was doing with Sonic and Sally's love life or whatever. Most of the fandom wasn't even reading those comics. But Ian's gone from being a writer for a non-canon spinoff comic, to being the initial lead writer for the first ever canon Sonic comic series, to being the new main writer for the games themselves as part of the official Sonic Lore Team. Way more Sonic fans care about his work now, and when he's so open about his work that makes him an easy scapegoat.
It feels like damn near every week on Twitter Ian's personal trolls have posted yet another BumbleKast clip out of context to rile up the fandom and make it look like he has no idea what he's talking about or like he has some kind of agenda. And, unfortunately, people often fall for this. Of course, it also goes the other way, with people more sympathetic towards Ian taking things he says about Sega and framing them as proof that Sega has no idea what they're doing with the brand. Which, well, let's be real, isn't always the most unreasonable thing to think, given Sonic's rocky history. But I'm surprised it took this long for Sega to start paying more attention to what gets said on the BumbleKast when fans use it so regularly as a source of drama.
I've also often felt that they just need to be WAY more selective about what messages they respond to on the show. Questions Ian can't actually answer due to NDAs, questions that are borderline incomprehensible, "questions" that are really just fan ideas. And the haters, oh, the haters. Ian does not need to put up with angry rants about how he should make SonAmy canon or what the fuck ever. Even if Ian's willing to put up with it, as a listener it can make the show just super unpleasant at times when someone aggressive pops up with an inflammatory question. There have been entire BumbleKast Mini episodes I had to skip because they were just obsessive critics of Ian's paying to grill him on a dozen different things and treat him like an idiot.
But at the same time, I get why the show got to be this way. It's become a part-time job for Ian with multiple new episode a week. Given how piss poor the pay tends to be for freelance writers, I can't really blame him for wanting to keep this secondary stream of income open, and to not have to refund people left and right for rejecting their questions. The man's got bills to pay. (And so does Kyle, for whom managing the BumbleKast seems to have become a full-time job.)
I dunno. The man's got the patience of a fucking saint. I would've quit the franchise if I was in his shoes, with people wishing he would die for shit like minor disagreements over Sonic's characterization or him misremembering an obscure old lore thing. While I do hope that Sega doesn't keep too tight of a leash on him moving forward, and I hope that he's still able to speak his mind about his work, part of me also hopes that having to be much more selective about Sonic questions results in less bullshit like this.

Tumblr media
Alkali Lake held nothing. No clues, no leads, nothing. And because of that he’s still drifting, unable to remember anything but you.
He’s not sure when the last time he saw you was, he can only remember that he’s had you 5 times and lost you 5 times.
But now… now he has nothing but fragments, barely more than dreams, and a dull ache he can’t ignore, even if he can no longer remember the details. He knows you were there, remembers the way your touch soothed him, the warmth of your voice—and each time he replays those memories, he feels something deeper, sharper, tugging at the places in him that will never mend.
---
Logan opened the doors to the mansion, Rogue walking towards him. “Logan!” She went up to hug him before quickly pulling back.
“You miss me, kid?”
“Not really.” She shook her head sarcastically.
“Hmm. How are you doing?”
“I’m okay. How are you?”
“Who’s this?” Logan gestured with his head behind Rogue.
Rogue turned around, “oh, this is Bobby. He’s my- ”
“I’m her boyfriend.” Bobby cut in, shaking Logan’s hand using his ice powers, “call me Ice Man.”
Logan pulled away with a slight scowl, “right. Boyfriend? So how do you guys…?”
Bobby and Rogue shared a look, “well, we’re still working on that.” He said.
“Look who’s come back. Just in time.” Ororo spoke, as she walked down the stairs.
“For what?” Logan questioned.
“We need another babysitter.”
“Babysitter?”
“Nice to see you again, Logan.” Ororo said kindly.
“Hi, Logan.” Jean spoke, announcing herself as she walked down the stairs.
Logan briefly looked her way, “Jean.”
“Uh, I should go and get the jet ready.” Ororo said quietly.
“Yeah, well, it was good to meet you.” Bobby grabbed Rogue’s hand, “come on, let’s go.”
“Bye, Logan. I’ll see- I’ll see you later!” Rogue called out.
Jean walked in front of Logan, “Storm and I are heading to Boston. We won’t be gone long. The professor wants us to track down a mutant who attacked the president.”
“So it was a mutant.” Logan responded.
“You’ll be here when we get back- unless you plan on running off again.”
Logan tilted his head slightly. “Oh, I could—” His words trailed off as he caught sight of you. The stack of papers in your hands wobbled as you came down the stairs, muttering under your breath. He watched you, the tilt of your head as you pushed your glasses back up, the way you carefully balanced the papers in your hands.
You. He knew you. He knew that face, that presence. It hit him like a punch to the gut, an undeniable recognition buried beneath layers of fractured memories. You were the only thing that came back to him clearly in all the chaos. The short-lived lives you had, and every time it ended up with you dead in his arms.
He blinked, processing, as if you’d vanish if he looked away. You glanced up, catching his stare, and you stopped mid-step, eyes widening a little.
“Oh, uh… hi,” you said, awkwardly adjusting your glasses.
“Hi,” he echoed, still staring, as if searching for something familiar in the way you moved.
You shifted uncomfortably under his gaze, then tried a smile. “You’re… Logan, right?”
He swallowed, feeling something catch in his throat. “Yeah. Logan.”
Breaking the tension, Scott walked down the stairs, “find what you were looking for, Logan?”
Logan barely acknowledged Scott’s words, his gaze fixed on you. The room, the people around him, the mansion itself—they all blurred, faded, became nothing more than static in the background. He knew you. The only thing he remembered clearly, despite all the fog in his mind, was you.
The stack of papers shifted in your hands as you glanced between him and Scott, your unease clear. It was like you sensed something, too, even if you couldn’t put a finger on it.
“Uh, no, not exactly,” Logan finally replied, his voice gruff, his eyes still on you. “Thought I’d… found something. Guess not.”
Scott didn’t seem too interested in probing. “Well, welcome back. Make yourself at home.”
But Logan barely heard him. He watched as you attempted a shy smile, not quite meeting his eyes. “I… I should go.” You hesitated, lifting the papers as if they’d shield you. “It was nice meeting you, Logan.”
He nodded, his throat dry. “Same.”
You hurried past, your steps soft but quick, almost like you were escaping.
Scott raised an eyebrow at Logan, a smirk tugging at his mouth. “Didn’t know you were one for the shy ones.”
Logan shot him a look that could’ve split wood, but Scott just shrugged and walked off, leaving Logan alone with his thoughts.
For a moment, Logan debated following you. He’d known you before; he was sure of it. And even if he couldn’t recall the exact details, there was no mistaking the pull he felt, the way his chest tightened just being in your presence. He couldn’t remember much, barely fragments, yet you were a constant. And every time, he’d lost you. Every damn time.
---
After double checking that everyone was out of their rooms, whether taken or already escaped, you made your way to the secret tunnel, hitting the paneled wall as it opened.
You saw Rogue, Bobby, John, and Logan running down the hall. “Go on,” you said, letting the kids go through before you did. You noticed no one behind you as the door slid down, closing.
“Logan!” Rogue called out.
Bobby and John had already started to run down the tunnel while you stayed by the wall, ear pressed against it trying to hear what was happening.
Rogue stayed by you, clearly worried about Logan. You opened the door quietly as Bobby and John came back. It was quiet in the hall, Logan was walking slowly toward the older man as your eyes briefly fluttered shut, pausing the intruders in time.
“Logan, come on. Let’s go.” Rogue yelled out.
“Logan,” you said gently, as he finally turned his head towards the group.
“Go. I’ll be fine.”
“But we won’t.” Rogue responded.
Logan contemplated for a few moments before walking towards you, “go. Keep going.” Logan entered the tunnel as the door closed behind him while you un-paused the men in the hall.
The five of you ran down the tunnel before climbing up a ladder to the garage. “Come on, get in. Get in!” Logan said.
You went to open the passenger door to the back when a large, warm hand landed on your waist, the grip warm and familiar even though you knew you'd never been this close to him before. Your breath hitched, and you glanced over your shoulder, only to meet his intense gaze as he gently nudged you toward the front seat. His hand lingered a second longer than it needed to, his touch almost hesitant, as if he was committing the feel of you to memory.
“Front seat, Y/N,” he murmured.
“R-Right. Thanks,” you stammered, feeling a flush rise to your cheeks as you slid into the passenger seat. He followed, taking his place behind the wheel, while Rogue, Bobby, and John piled into the back.
“This is Cyclops’s car.” Bobby said.
“Oh, yeah?” Logan unsheathed a singular claw, stabbing it into the ignition and turning on the car. The garage doors opened as the car sped out.
“What the hell was that back there?” John finally asked.
“Stryker.” Logan answered. “His name is Stryker.”
“Who is he?” Rogue questioned.
“I can’t remember.” Logan said quietly.
Rogue, after a few moments of silence, took off the dog tags around her wrist, passing them to Logan in the front, “here. This is yours.”
Even though you couldn’t see the kids in the back, you could tell they were uncomfortable with the silence. John leaned forward, “I don’t like uncomfortable silences.”
“What are you doing?” Rogue asked from beside him.
John turned on the radio as music played loudly from the car’s stereo’s, “bye, bye, bye…” Everyone groaned at the loud intrusion as John promptly turned it back off.
But, a small compartment opened, revealing a sleek metal device. “I don’t think that’s the CD player.” John said.
Logan grabbed it, twisting it in his hands. It blipped once, “whoa,” he muttered. Logan looked at John momentarily, “sit back.”
“Where we going?” John asked.
“Storm and Jean are in Boston. We’ll head that way.” Logan answered.
Bobby looked off to the side, “my parents live in Boston.”
“Good.” Logan said.
---
It was morning when you arrived at Bobby’s parents’ house. He unlocked the front door and stepped inside, “mom! Dad! Ronny! Is anybody home?” No one responded, the house was empty. Bobby looked at Rogue, “I’ll try and find you some clothes.” Bobby then looked over at John, who was continuously flicking his lighter open, “don’t burn anything.”
Logan was in the kitchen, trying to get the phone, or comm device he wasn’t sure, to work. He put it to his ear, “hello?” Static crackled over the device, “hello?” Logan asked again. “Come on, Jean. Where are you?”
You had just freshened up a bit when the door opened, Bobby’s family entering the house, looking at Logan in the kitchen with an open beer bottle.
“Hey, Ronny, next time you…” Bobby’s father started, but stopped when he saw Logan. “Who the hell are you?”
“Uh…” Logan pointed at the stairs as Bobby ran down them.
“Bobby…?”
“Honey, aren’t you supposed to be at school?” Bobby’s mother asked. Rogue quietly walked down the stairs.
“Bobby, who is this guy?”
“Uh… this is Professor Logan.” Bobby paused before speaking again, “there’s something I need to tell you.”
Soon, you all ended up in the living area, the kids and Bobby’s parents sitting down on the couch with you and Logan standing in the doorway.
“So, uh, when did you first know you were a… a…” Bobby’s mother trailed off.
“A mutant?” John spoke up, still flicking his lighter open and closed.
“Would you cut that out?” she said.
“You have to understand, we thought Bobby was going to a school for the gifted.” his father spoke.
“Bobby is gifted.” Rogue cut in.
“We know that. We just didn’t realize…”
His mother cut off her husband, “we still love you, Bobby. It’s just… this mutant problem is a little…”
“What mutant problem?” Logan interrupted, leaning against the other side of the doorway as you with his arms crossed.
“…complicated.” she finished.
Bobby’s father spoke again, “what exactly are you a professor of Mr. Logan?”
“Art.”
“Well, you should see what Bobby can do.” Rogue said.
Bobby leaned forward, gently touching his mother’s teacup with one finger as the tea turned to ice.
“Bobby…” his mother trailed off. She flipped the teacup on its side as the ice slid to the plate.
“I can do a lot more than that.”
His mother shakily put the plate and teacup on the glass table as the cat jumped up and started to lick the ice. Bobby’s brother Ronny left the room with a quiet anger.
“Ronny?” His mother called out as he went up the stairs. “This is all my fault.”
John spoke up, “actually, they discovered that males are the ones who carry the mutant gene and pass it on, so it’s his fault.”
A few moments later, the comm device started to beep. “Oh, God…” Logan took the device out of his pocket and started to walk to the sliding door, “it’s for me.”
“Bobby… have you tried… not being a mutant?” His mother asked.
Logan came back inside and locked the sliding door, “we have to go now. Now!”
“Why?” Rogue questioned. “Logan, what’s wrong?”
He walked to the front door, claws extended and you and the kids following to come face to face with police officers on the front lawn, point guns at you.
“Drop the knives and put your hands in the air.” An officer ordered from their right.
“What’s going on here?” Logan muttered.
“Ronny.” Bobby answered, coming to the realization.
“I said, drop the knives!” The officer ordered again.
Glass shattered from inside the house, “turn around! Up against the wall! Up against the wall!” An officer ordered Bobby’s parents, still in the living area.
“This is just a misunderstanding.” Logan said.
“Put the knives down!”
Logan turned to look at the officer, “I can’t. Look,” he raised his arm slowly as the officer fired a shot, straight into Logan’s forehead.
Rogue screamed and you gasped as Logan hit the patio floor.
“All right, the rest of you- on the ground now!” The same officer ordered.
You, Bobby, and Rogue slowly sank to the ground, but John stayed standing.
“Look, kid, I said on the ground!”
“We don’t want to hurt you, kid.” The officer on the other side said.
“You know all those dangerous mutants you hear about on the news?” John flicked open his lighter as you murmured his name, “I’m the worst one.” He blasted fire at the officer who shot Logan, sending him off the patio. He turned and did the same to the woman on the other side, then inside the house at the two officers.
John turned forward, blasting fire at the officers on the front lawn, the car exploding, before doing the same to another police car. A siren sounded down the street, coming to the house, as John blasted another stationary car by the front lawn, throwing the moving car off track. He blasted that car too.
Rogue, on the ground in front of you, took off her white glove and grabbed John’s ankle. The fire in his hands died off as Rogue stopped the fires surrounding the police cars and lawn.
The bullet popped out of Logan’s head as he woke up, the Blackbird slowly landing in the street. Logan stood up, cracking his neck. Bobby and the kids rushed off the stairs first, heading to the jet.
Logan instinctively put a hand on the small of your back, not pushing you or guiding you just… resting there. You took a quick glance up at him before reverting your gaze back to what was ahead of you.
John was the first one to walk up the ramp, and the first one to see Kurt turn in his chair. “Guten tag.” Kurt greeted.
The rest of you got onto the jet, buckling in, “who the hell is this?” Logan asked.
“Kurt Wagner. But in the Munich circus, I was known as the Incredible Nightcrawler.”
“As, save it. Storm?”
“We’re out of here.” The engines powered up as the ship jerked slightly while taking off.
---
“How far are we?” Logan asked, walking up behind Jean’s chair.
“We’re actually coming up on the mansion now.” Jean replied, as the console started to beep.
“I’ve got two signals approaching.” Ororo said, “coming in fast.”
“Unidentified aircraft, you are ordered to descend to 20,000 feet. Return with our escort to Hanscom Air Force Base. You have ten seconds to comply.”
“Wow, somebody’s angry.” Ororo commented.
Logan looked back at John, “I wonder why.”
“We are coming up alongside you to escort you to Hanscom Air Force Base. Lower your altitude now.” The two planes come up on both sides of the jet, “repeat-lower your altitude to 20,000 feet. This is your last warning.”
The planes started to fly behind, “they’re falling back.” Ororo spoke. Rapid beeping sounded out from the console. “They’re marking us.”
“What?” Logan asked.
“They’re going to fire! Hang on!” Ororo started to fly the jet in a defensive position as they buckled into their seats. “I got to shake them.”
The jet briefly flew upside down then righted itself, “please don’t do that again.” John said.
“I agree.” Logan remarked. “Don’t we have any weapons in this heap?”
The sky started to darken as dark clouds formed, quickly turning into tornadoes. The jet started to shake from the heavy winds as Ororo tried getting the two planes off their tails.
Once their radar was clear, Ororo stopped, the sky brightening back to its natural state.
“Everybody okay back there?” Jean questioned.
“No,” Logan answered simply.
Rapid beeping sounded out from the console once again, “oh, my God, there’s two of them,” Ororo said. Jean used her powers and took out one of the missiles, “there’s one more.” The remaining missile continued flying closer to them, “Jean?”
Jean gasped, “oh, God!” At the last second, Jean directed the missile slightly up, causing the back end of the jet to blow open.
Rogue, who wasn’t buckled in, flew out the back as Bobby yelled for her. Kurt briefly looked back before disappearing and then reappearing in the jet, right by the pilot’s seat next to Ororo and Jean as the jet nosedived.
The panels in the ship began to crackle as metal creaked and the back of the jet repaired itself. “Jean?” Ororo asked.
“It’s not me.” Jean answered, as the jet suddenly stopped, hovering over an older man and woman you didn’t recognize.
---
You had your head and arms buried deep into the jet's console, a strand of hair falling in front of your face as you tried to twist one more wire into place. The tech was scrambled from the missile hit, panels still flickering with bursts of static, and while it wasn’t exactly in your wheelhouse, you knew enough to give it a try. Besides, it kept your hands busy while the rest of the team talked to Erik around the fire and the kids set up tents.
After some time, you walked down the stairs of the jet, mostly for a small break from the incessant lighting and saw Logan smoking a cigar by the ramp. You almost turned around and walked back up, until he turned to look at you, more than halfway down the stairs.
You gulped and played with the tool in your hands as Logan looked at his cigar briefly, noticing the smoke was frozen in the air. He turned his gaze to the trees nearby also taking note that they were frozen as well; no wind blowing through their leaves.
“Ya always freeze time when you get nervous?” Logan tilted his head, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth as he watched you, trapped in your own nervous suspension of time. You gave a tight, embarrassed smile, the tool in your hands twisting around your fingers as you took a deep breath and forced yourself to let go of the freeze.
“No. Only sometimes,” you admitted, feeling your cheeks heat. The trees resumed their gentle sway, and the smoke from his cigar curled upward lazily again. Logan watched the subtle shift, something almost playful glinting in his gaze.
He took another drag of his cigar, eyes not leaving you. “So, what’s got you nervous?”
Your fingers fumbled with the tool. “It’s, um… I don’t usually come across people who…” You trailed off, looking down at your hands.
Truth was, he made you nervous. Why wouldn’t he? He was… a lot of things, and in the few days you have known him you couldn’t help but feel more reserved than usual.
Logan leaned back against the ramp, watching you with a calm expression, the hint of a smile playing on his lips. “Care to be more specific?” He seemed content to let you fumble, patient in a way that only made your pulse quicken more.
You shrugged, pretending to focus on the tool in your hands. “I don’t know, maybe it’s the… whole mysterious, intense thing you’ve got going. That, and the fact that I accidentally freeze time whenever you look at me like that.”
He raised an eyebrow, letting out a low chuckle. “Like what?”
“Like…” You trailed off, finally looking up at him. “Like you’re trying to figure something out, but I’m not sure I want to know what.”
“Maybe I am,” Logan said, taking a drag of his cigar. His eyes softened a bit, and you felt a warmth settle over you. He didn’t push, didn’t pry—just waited. After all, patience was one of the many things he’d perfected over the years.
You shifted on your feet, glancing down to where your fingers had turned the wrench over and over, antsy. “Maybe I just don’t know what to make of you,” you murmured, feeling the weight of his gaze again.
“Guess that makes two of us,” he replied, his voice low. There was something unspoken in his words, something you couldn’t quite name.
The silence stretched out, and then, because there was something about the way he looked at you that felt like an invitation, you spoke. “Why’d you come out here, anyway? I thought you were all about avoiding everyone else.”
Logan flicked some ash off the end of his cigar. “Maybe I was gettin’ tired of avoidin’ things.” He paused, looking out toward the treeline, then back at you. “Or maybe I just wanted to see if you’d freeze time again.”
You rolled your eyes, but a smile tugged at your lips. “Not exactly something I can control.”
“Good to know,” Logan replied, smirking. He took another puff, the smoke curling up in wisps around him. “So, are you fixin’ that thing, or just givin’ it the ol’ college try?”
You looked back at the jet, the half-repaired panel flickering with static. “Oh, definitely just winging it.”
Logan chuckled, the sound rich and deep, and for a moment, the tension seemed to ease. “Wouldn’t have pegged you for a ‘wing it’ type.”
You shrugged, biting back a smirk. “I’m full of surprises.”
The easy conversation brought a hint of a grin to his face, something warm and fleeting, and he tilted his head toward the jet. “C’mon, let’s see what else you can do, winging it.” He raised an eyebrow, as if challenging you.
You looked at him, then back at the jet, a bit of excitement tingling under your skin. “Alright, Logan. Let’s see what we can fix.”
---
“Stay with the kids.” Jean said. You opened your mouth to argue, you weren’t a child, yet it seemed like every mission you were treated like one. Never allowed on the field, never even brought in on a debriefing.
The rest of the group, other than Mystique who was already in the base, were outside the jet, making their way into Alkali Base. You were supposed to stay behind with Rogue, Bobby, and John.
“But, Jean—” you started, voice catching on the frustrated protest that lingered in your chest.
Jean turned, a hand on her hip and an exasperated look that was all too familiar. “We’ve talked about this, Y/N. You’re here to look after them.”
“Right,” you muttered, crossing your arms, your gaze falling on the others, who were half paying attention, half pretending not to notice. Rogue’s worried glance lingered on you; Bobby looked between you and the hallway where the rest of the team had disappeared.
Jean’s expression softened just slightly. “This isn’t a punishment, okay? The kids need someone they trust to keep them safe.”
You glanced at Logan, who gave you a slight nod, his eyes flickering with something you couldn’t quite place. “Fine,” you mumbled, “I’ll stay with them.”
Jean pressed a reassuring hand to your shoulder. “We’ll be back soon.” She turned to catch up with the others, her footsteps echoing as they faded into the depths of the base.
Logan lingered for a moment, gaze unwavering. He looked at you for a beat too long, and something tightened in his expression. He gave a faint nod before heading off.
As the rest of the team disappeared down the corridor, John grinned, clearly amused by your frustration. "Looks like you got a babysitting gig, huh?"
You shot him a withering look, but Rogue was quick to jump in. "It's not like that, John."
“Could be worse,” Bobby added, trying to lighten the mood, “at least we’re safe here.”
You leaned against the cold metal wall, fingers tapping the console out of habit. “Yeah,” you replied, though your voice held none of the certainty you tried to convey.
From the depths of the corridor, Logan’s scent still lingered faintly in the air. You felt the tug of something unexplainable—a pull toward him that you’d noticed ever since he first set foot in the mansion. It was like trying to remember something you knew you’d forgotten.
Your hand, almost of its own accord, clenched into a fist, feeling the temptation to slow time, to buy a few seconds to gather your thoughts and process what lingered between you and Logan. But with Rogue, Bobby, and John right there, you resisted, focusing on keeping things steady.
And, yet, as you listened to the faint sounds echoing down the hall, a deep sense of restlessness settled in your chest.
---
“She’s controlling the jet!” Storm said, as the jet started to lightly shake.
“You, get her, now!” Logan told Kurt.
Kurt briefly phased, “she’s not letting me.”
“I know what I’m doing,” Charles spoke. “This is the only way.”
Scott leaned down next to Charles seat, “Jean? Listen to me. Don’t do this.”
“Good-bye.”
The jet started to hover above the water as a bright light shone briefly from the water before disappearing as quickly as it came.
“She’s gone,” Ororo said quietly.
The vision broke your focus as you flew the jet, the emergency landing protocol activated as it landed harshly, Rogue and Bobby standing in the cockpit by your seat.
A whoosh made you turn to the side to see Kurt putting Charles down in a seat. Kids started to climb up the stairs into the ramp as Ororo came by your side, “I got this, Y/N,” she said gently.
You let out a few more heavy breaths before standing up from the pilot’s seat, letting Ororo take your place.
As Scott fiddled with some of the controls, Charles spoke up, “Scott, we’ve got to get to Washington. I fear this has gone beyond Alkali Lake.”
Logan finally climbed up the stairs, a young boy in his arms, “Bobby.”
“Hey, I got him,” Bobby replied, carefully taking the boy from Logan’s arms.
Logan watched for a moment as Bobby wrapped an arm around the kid, murmuring something reassuring to him. When the boy seemed to relax, Logan shifted his gaze to you, lingering just a beat too long, that same unreadable look in his eyes.
The jet was buzzing with energy as everyone settled in, but his eyes never left yours. You felt it, that weight, the unspoken thing hanging between you both ever since you met. The others didn’t seem to notice—Bobby was focused on the kid, Rogue was buckling in, and Ororo and Scott were adjusting settings on the console. But Logan, he was watching you, something intense simmering beneath his stoic expression.
You tried to brush it off, focusing on the quiet hum of the jet as it prepared for takeoff. But that pull was there, like something forgotten tugging at your memory, or maybe… not forgotten, exactly. Maybe something you’d never known.
Finally, unable to help yourself, you looked back at him. “What?” you asked softly, half a smile on your lips to cover the nervous energy prickling at the base of your spine.
Logan didn’t smile back. “Nothing,” he replied, voice rough. But his gaze softened, just barely, and there was a glimmer of something warm. “Just making sure you’re alright.”
His words were casual, but you caught the faintest edge of something… familiar. Like a memory you couldn’t quite touch. You felt your fingers twitch, the familiar itch to pull time in around you, but you held back.
“I’m fine,” you said, brushing your hair behind your ear as you tried to shake off the strange feeling. “Thanks for asking.”
Logan nodded, but his gaze didn’t waver. He watched you for a beat longer, almost as if he were searching for something. Whatever it was, he didn’t find it—or maybe he did but decided not to say. Instead, he moved forward to Ororo, where her and Scott were trying to power the engines.
“What’s wrong?” Logan questioned.
“Vertical thrusters are offline.” Scott answered.
“So fix ’em.”
“I’m trying.”
“Hey, has anyone seen John?” Rogue called out.
“Pyro?” Logan asked. “Where the hell is he?”
“He’s with Magneto.” Jean replied.
“…but I don’t know how long they’re going to last.”
“I’m trying to override, but it’s not responding.” Scott grunted, “come on!”
“Oh, no, we’ve lost the power.” Ororo said.
“It’s coming. Come on!”
“There’s power in the fuel cells. They’re just not connected.”
“Okay, I’ll try to reroute it this way.” Ororo continued, but your gaze was focused on Jean, who was looking at the ramp of the jet. “Scott, the engine control system is shot.”
“Which part?”
“All of it!”
“Can’t you override?”
“Yes. It’s going to take some time.”
“Jean,” you whispered under your breath, too scared to act, fearing what would happen if you intervened. Instead, you watched as she walked down the ramp of the jet, glancing at the group one last time.
Charles tilted his head slightly to the side, “Jean?”
“Wait, where’s Jean?” Logan asked.
“She’s outside.” Charles said.
Scott bolted up from his seat to the ramp, but it closed as he got there, separating Jean from the rest of them. The consoles lit up as the engines came back online.
“No! We’re not leaving! Lower the ramp! Storm, lower it!” Scott yelled.
“I can’t!” She replied.
The water finally washed over to them, but because of Jean and her telekinesis it went around her.
“Good-bye.”
The jet started to hover above the water as a bright light shone briefly-
“-power in the fuel cells.
As Jean walked toward the ramp, you reached out and grabbed her forearm, halting her determined steps. Her head turned, meeting your gaze, and for a moment, her eyes softened. There was a weariness, a resignation in her look that you couldn’t ignore.
“Jean,” you whispered, tightening your grip. “There has to be another way.”
Her lips pressed into a thin line, and she looked away, staring into the distance. The ramp was only steps away, but she hadn’t pulled her arm free. “It’s the only way to save everyone,” she said, her voice barely audible, as if speaking louder would shatter whatever resolve she had left.
“I’m not gonna let you die,” you spoke quietly.
Jean tilted her head, looking at the cockpit one more time before back at you, “you rewound. Didn’t you?” She hadn’t tried to pull away, and you could feel the rapid beat of her pulse through your grip on her arm. She knew. Somehow, she’d pieced it together—how you’d rewound, maybe even more than once.
“Yes,” you replied softly, your voice barely audible over the hum of the jet, “but this time—”
“This time won’t be any different,” Jean cut in, a trace of regret in her tone. “Some things… you can’t just rewind.”
You tightened your grip, not willing to let go. “I don’t believe that. I don’t believe it has to end like this.”
Her gaze softened, but there was a sadness in her eyes that you couldn’t bear. “You have to let me go, Y/N. You can’t keep holding on to something that’s already gone.”
You shook your head, frustration bubbling beneath the surface. “We’re a team, Jean. You can power on the jet, and I can pause the water.”
She looked away, clearly weighing every word you said against her own grim resolve, then back at you with a look of resigned understanding. "You don’t understand, Y/N. This—" she gestured to the waters crashing around them, then down to her own chest, her hand resting over her heart—"what’s happening to me... it’s too much. It’s a flood I can’t hold back.”
You could feel her pulse, still wild beneath your hand, and the memory of her last words echoed in your mind. "You have to let me go, Y/N. You can’t keep holding on to something that’s already gone.”
But she wasn’t gone, not yet, and the desperation that rose inside you felt like a fight against fate itself. “Jean, I’ve seen things go wrong before.” The words slipped out, the ghost of a memory that you couldn’t quite catch. “But I can feel it this time… we don’t have to lose you. Just trust me.”
For a moment, Jean’s gaze softened, and her grip on her resolve wavered. “Y/N…” she started, and you caught a glimmer of something in her eyes—gratitude, or maybe even hope. Her hand rested lightly over yours, though you could feel her power humming beneath her skin. “Alright,” she whispered finally, her voice barely audible. “But if something goes wrong… if it’s too much…”
You cut her off, squeezing her hand tighter. “Then we find another way. But you don’t have to do this alone.”
With a quick nod from Jean, you focused your energy, feeling time ripple and bend beneath your skin. Jean closed her eyes, inhaling deeply as she took in the extra moments you’d gifted her, enough to gather her power without tearing herself apart in the process.
Outside the jet, the water slowed, hovering just a few inches away from the plane, frozen in time. Everyone held their breath, the hum of the jet's engines amplified in the stillness. Scott turned back to the controls, guiding the jet forward through the suspended water. “It’s working,” he murmured, almost to himself. "We’re moving.”
In the cockpit, you felt your pulse race as you held the time bubble steady, feeling the strain build in your bones. This level of control was more intense than anything you’d managed before, but you pushed yourself to hold on, the determination to keep Jean and everyone safe steeling your resolve.
The jet jolted slightly as it broke through the edge of the water and rose higher, out of immediate danger. But the strain was starting to build, the sheer amount of energy it took to hold everything at bay beginning to wear on you. Your hand slipped, and you nearly stumbled, but before you could lose your focus entirely, a strong hand caught your arm.
Logan was at your side, his face mere inches from yours, concern laced in his voice. “You good?” he asked, his grip grounding you.
“Yeah… just give me a sec.” You took a breath, focusing on the feel of his hand, the warmth in his touch that felt familiar in a way you couldn’t explain. With that small, grounding connection, you found the strength to hold the time bubble for a few seconds more.
When the jet was finally clear, you released the grip on time, and the rush of water resumed its course beneath them. You staggered slightly, feeling a rush of exhaustion course through you, but Logan’s arm was still steady around you, even as you fell to the ground, your eyes fluttering shut.
Logan’s grip tightened as you slumped back, your breath shuddering as exhaustion swept over you. His hand was warm, rough fingers gently brushing against your cheek, bringing you back just enough to the moment. Your back was draped over his knees, your pulse still racing as you struggled to catch your breath. The world was a muted blur, but his voice broke through, steady and low, anchoring you.
“Hey, hey,” he murmured, his thumb tracing a slow circle on your cheek. “You’re alright. I got you.”
It was only his words, and the softness in them, that made you blink back the haze of exhaustion. As your vision cleared, you saw his face just inches from yours, an intensity in his gaze that seemed to search for something… something deeper than he was saying.
“Logan,” you whispered, not sure why his name slipped out so easily or why it felt so familiar, as if you’d said it before, in another life or another time. But the look he gave you held a weight you couldn’t name, a history you couldn’t remember.
“You with me?” he asked, his voice a rough whisper, but beneath it, there was something else, something almost pleading. He waited as you blinked up at him, your pulse slowly settling, tethered by his touch. “Y/N?”
“Yeah…” You tried to push yourself up, but the strain of holding time around the jet had left your muscles aching, feeling drained in a way you’d never experienced before. Logan’s grip on your shoulder tightened, steadying you, and for a moment, you let yourself lean into him, feeling his warmth.
His face softened, a flicker of relief crossing his expression, though he didn’t let go. “You pulled us out of that mess,” he said, his voice low, and for a second, something raw flickered in his eyes. “What were you thinking? Freezing the water like that—it could’ve knocked you out cold.”
“I couldn’t… I couldn’t just watch Jean go.” You inhaled deeply, your voice barely above a whisper as you glanced toward the cockpit, where Jean’s quiet breathing filled the jet with a fragile peace. “I couldn’t let her do it alone.”
Logan gave a slow nod, his eyes narrowing as he studied you. You felt the intensity of his gaze, as if he was seeing something beyond what you could understand. There was a warmth to it, one that made your heart stutter, something deep and unexplainably familiar. He paused, his voice quieter, almost hesitant. “You’ve always been this way… haven’t you?”
“What do you mean?” you asked, thrown by the hint of something personal, something he couldn’t quite put into words. He dropped his hand from your face, settling it on your shoulder, but you could still feel the warmth lingering where he’d touched you.
“Never mind.” He looked away, his expression unreadable. But his hand remained steady on your shoulder, grounding you as the jet finally stabilized, the engines humming to life. You could hear the others bustling around, but for this moment, it was just the two of you, a silent understanding hovering between you.
“Logan…?” you started, not sure what you wanted to say or why his presence felt so deeply familiar. He turned back, a question in his eyes, as if he were waiting for something. But the words wouldn’t come. How could you ask him about a feeling you didn’t understand? About a memory that didn’t exist?
Instead, you exhaled, letting the silence fill the space between you. “Thank you.”
He watched you, his gaze lingering on your face, as if there were a thousand things he wanted to say. But he only nodded, a soft look crossing his face, one that felt almost like longing.
“Anytime,” he murmured, his hand finally slipping away, leaving a chill in its place.
“Y/N, you good back there?” Ororo’s voice broke the spell, and you managed a nod, giving her a thumbs-up.
“Yeah. Just… catching my breath.” You gave her a small smile, forcing your muscles to relax, even as your heart was still pounding. Logan stood, his gaze lingering on you for a beat before he moved to check on the others. But before he left, he looked back at you, his eyes holding a silent promise, a feeling that maybe—just maybe—he was still there, still watching over you.
---
A storm crackled outside thanks to Ororo and everyone around the group was frozen in time courtesy of you.
“Good morning, Mr. President.” Charles said. The President looked over to the side where Kurt was crouched on a small table. He began to stand up slowly, “please, don’t be alarmed. We’re not going to harm anyone.”
“Who are you people?”
“We’re mutants. My name is Charles Xavier. Please, sit down.”
“I’d rather stand.”
“Rogue.” Charles briefly glanced over at her, as she placed a large file onto the President’s desk. “These files were taken from the private offices of William Stryker.”
The President started to flip through the file, “how did you get this?”
“Well, let’s just say I know a little girl who can walk through walls.” Charles said, as the President looked over at Kurt who let out a quiet snicker. He finally sat back down.
“I’ve never seen this information.”
“I know.”
“Then you also know I don’t respond well to threats.”
“Mr. President, this is not a threat, this is an opportunity. There are forces in this world, both mutant and human alike, who believe that a war is coming. You’ll see from those files that some have already tried to start one. And there have been casualties. Losses on both sides. Mr. President, what you are about to tell the world is true. This is a moment. A moment to repeat the mistakes of the past, or to work together for a better future. We’re here to stay, Mr. President. The next move is yours.”
“We’ll be watching,” Logan said.

ermmmm can i say something :3 i think art is the type of guy who's done glory holes at least a few times in college. he's so busy with tennis and trying not to fail his classes that he just hasn't had the time to let loose and get laid. sure, his hand is right there but it doesn't quite feel the same. patrick tells him just hit a girl up and ask for casual meaningless sex like it's that easy, art isn't as suave and charismatic as the brunette. plus, he's also the type to want to have some sort of connection with whoever he's going to have sex with so casual sex isn't something he thinks will work out for him.
bottom line is, he's pent up and it's getting painful. he can't even do anything without his cock swelling underneath his shorts from the smallest of friction.
so when he overheard his tennis teammates talking about a gloryhole after a particularly long day, his ears couldn't help but perk up. his lower region growing taller under the shower stream and heat pooling in the pit of his stomach as he listened to one of them describe his experience. he was at the library and went to a secluded bathroom to jerk off, a specific bathroom on the fourth floor that nobody ever goes to on the rumors that it's haunted. there's a hole in the bathroom stall and a person on the other side, one led thing led to another and that brought him to an eye-rolling, stars-reaching orgasm.
after pretending to study in the library for what felt like hours, art hurriedly grabbed his things and walk over to the previously mentioned bathroom. he figured it was perfect, he didn't have to actually meet and sweet talk anyone until they decide they want to fuck him, and he couldn't see the other person so he's not going to get attached or anything, right? all he has to do is hope that someone is there or else it's just going to be him and his right hand alone in this creepy bathroom.
the heavy door creaked and the lights were flickering, there's an eerie feeling inside but– oh god, someone is here. and they're jerking off? the sound of wet, sloppy slapping and hushed moans. you didn't even stop when you hear his footsteps and the lock of the stall right next to yours.
the blonde dropped his bag to the tiled floor, unbuckling his belt immediately until his pants hit the floor. he gave himself a few tugs, to no surprise, it's raging red and leaking. after a moment of hesitation, he knocked on the stall to 'announce his presence' and the sounds stopped, which he took as permission to slide his hard cock through the horridly sawed hole. he stood there, waiting for your touch. and when it finally came, he felt like he was going to cum instantly. your hands working on him furiously, stroking your spit all over him. he pushed his shirt up and looked down, hoping to catch a glimpse of whoever was on the other side.
his stomach tensed up as he felt something warm on his tip, your tongue swirling around and sweeping the pre-cum leaking from him. he lets out a few choked groans, "s-shit" and when you finally took all of him, your cheeks hollowed and the very tip of his cock hitting the back of your throat– he spilled. everything that he kept inside of him for far too long shooting down your throat. and you had no trouble swallowing. you gave him a few more pumps just to make sure it's all out and he's shaking on the other side. he pulls himself out and within seconds, he's knocking on the door of your stall. "fuck it"

Later at the wish granting ceremony, CEO Magnifico announces he’s greenlit Ice Age 6 and five more live-action remakes.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
There are so many cancelled and unrealized projects that Disney is sitting on, that they do not benefit from in any way by keeping them locked up tight. They really ought to just let them go if they don't have any intentions of doing anything with them.
Incidentally, I could never agree with the mentality of “Magnifico is actually the hero, and Asha is the TRUE villain” that a lot of people seem to have. I drew my comic based on this post. I feel like if more people had been aware of this possible interpretation, they wouldn’t have sympathized with Magnifico.
Does Wish have bad writing? Yes, it does. And it’s because of that bad writing that every single character suffers. What I think happened is that, as a result of said bad writing, Asha became a character that’s so uncompelling and lacks uniqueness that she ends up a blank slate for audiences to project their frustrations with the movie onto. King Magnifico on the other hand, is probably the most interesting and entertaining character, due in no small part to Chris Pine’s performance, and so the audience is much more sympathetic towards him and willing to ignore his flaws.
One of Asha’s problems as a character is that she doesn’t really contribute much to the story. By contrast, Magnifico’s downfall is brought about entirely as a result of his own actions. Magnifico is in fact not a good leader, because he gives in to paranoia and temptation, acts in a very unprofessional manner, and escalates the conflict to an absurd degree.
Please note, Asha does not get upset that Magnifico refuses to grant her grandfather’s wish, she gets upset that he insinuates that her grandfather might have dangerous intentions, and because he does not have a convincing reason why he doesn’t return wishes that he won’t grant. Rather than calmly explaining his reasoning to her, Magnifico rudely dismisses Asha and then blows up at her.
If Magnifico were a good leader, he would have explained to each person WHY he won’t grant their wish, and given them advice on alternatives. As it stands, he knows full well that everyone expects their wish to be granted. It’s why they even came to Rosas, it is the literal reason he even built his kingdom in the first place. Returning their ungranted wishes simply means returning the memory of what their wish even is, and they’ll be no better off than they were before they gave Magnifico their wish.
I dunno about you guys, but whenever I watched stories that preached “be careful what you wish for”, my takeaway was never “your desires could be dangerous and you should never pursue them for fear of disaster”, I always thought the stories were telling us, “beware of anything that promises instant gratification, because it’s usually too good to be true, and will cost you more than you will gain”. While the things you want in life may have disastrous consequences, you won’t really know until you try to pursue them through your own honest efforts, and not through “magical” shortcuts. That’s how we learn and grow, through trial and error.
As it currently stands from my point of view, when people say "Magnifico has every right to keep ungranted wishes" it looks like they're unintentionally saying, “The Disney Corporation has every right to keep your work and ideas, because you willingly handed them over. Tough luck if you regret the deal you were given. No takesies backsies!”
While I have found no evidence to confirm that the filmmakers intended for Magnifico to be a criticism of Corporate Disney, considering the inclusion of the animation sweatshop scene in Pixar's Inside Out 2, I think the probability is likely.
Please note, everyone is free to rewrite and reinterpret Magnifico however they want. He's just a fictional character after all, and fan content is supposed to be for fun. I just think it's funny how defensive people get over him. They say he deserved better, and I agree, but we have very different ideas of what "better" means. In fact, I think every character in Wish deserved better, because again, they were all victims of bad writing. Remember those deleted scenes featuring a villainous Magnifico with better writing, along with an evil Amaya that he can play off of? I'm fairly certain that everyone unanimously agreed these deleted scenes were much better than the final movie, and yet some still insist that Magnifico should have been a hero all along. I dunno, it's a funny dichotomy.

FAM OUT HEADCANONS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The beginning
Dream Academy brought a lot of good things to Sophia, success, the Kats, the Eyekons and of course, you.
you and Sophia met accidentally, your father was one of the camera operators, and Sophia always saw you backstage. She had thought you were beautiful, but she didn't have the courage, or the time, to stop and start a conversation with you.
Weeks later, you were hired by the team on your father's recommendation (nepotism, Yunjin’s voice), they hired you for all kinds of work. So it was official, you had your first job as a handyman. You were called especially to fix things that the girls had damaged, and when Sophia found out about it, this girl went crazy.
Sophia was very focused, she had good reviews, so she thought "Why not give me the luxury and have time with the kitten who works behind the scenes?"
The sink in the room where Sophia was, magically appeared broken the next day, coincidence, right? The girl was scared to death of being caught, but, oh man, how it was worth it.
When you came to fix it, Sophia made sure to open the door, show you where the faulty sink was, and keep you company throughout the repair. You talked about everything, and quickly grew closer.
Sophia could tell you were her safe haven, the breath of air she needed every day, talking to you was magical, and Sophia loved every moment of it.
Your first date was not called a "first date," at least not for others. You and Sophia knew it was a date, but you preferred to keep it a secret, so as not to threaten your jobs
So imagine the relief you felt, sitting in the audience, hearing the name of Sophia, your girlfriend, being announced as the member of Hybe's new group, Katseye.
The reaction of the Kats
You two were not as discreet as you thought. The Kats always noticed how Sophia went out to mysterious places, with "friends" that none of the girls had the chance to meet.
And it wasn't so discreet when Lara saw your face covered in lipstick marks stamped on the wallpaper of Sophia's cell phone.
The girls had nothing against you, on the contrary, they thought you were very cool, and as long as you were treating Sophia well, everything would be in its proper place.
When Sophia officially introduced you to the Kats, they asked thousands of questions; "How old are you?", "How long has this been happening?", "What are your intentions with our Sophia?"
You answered all the questions calmly, I mean, those girls were very important to Sophia, and Sophia was very important to those girls, you would answer as many questions as they wanted.
Despite all the noise and interrogation, you noticed that one of those girls was very quiet. Yoonchae.
When you first spoke to the girl, you could notice how she was struggling with her pronunciation, and when she said she was Korean, your brain raced.
You had learned a few words in Korean a few years ago. You couldn't say you were fluent, but you had a good grasp of the language.
You swear you'll never forget the smile the girl gave you when you spoke in Korean to her.
meeting her family
Getting through the Kats' approval was harder than going through Sophia's parents' approval.
In fact, they didn't even question it, Sophia's family was extremely receptive, and of course the Filipino girl had talked about you before. So when you arrived you were greeted with friendly hugs from everyone.
Sophia's family was like your second family, you adored them as much as Sophia. So when Sophia went to visit her parents, she always took you along.
You cooked with her mother, fixed things Sophia's dad asked you to do (he always said it was so you would remember the old days at Dream Academy), and spent time with her brother.
At the end of the day, Sophia was fighting to get your attention, but she knows she wouldn't trade it for anything.

→ this fic is inspired by the TV Show New Girl, Wade and Logan aren't Deadpool and Wolverine (no powers/mutant gene etc) but I did take most of their character traits and storyline!!
Masterlist / Previous Part
Y/N wasn’t expecting the call.
Her evening was supposed to be low-key —grading papers, maybe catching a show with Logan and Wade later. But when Logan called, everything changed.
When she arrived, her father was comfortably seated on the couch, chatting animatedly with Logan. Logan looked both polite and slightly panicked— caught in the middle of a conversation he didn’t initiate. The sight almost made Y/N laugh. How Logan always ended up trapped with the chattiest person ever was a mystery.
“Dad!” Y/N greeted, pulling her father’s attention away from Logan.
“Hey, kiddo!” Your father, Daniel, stood up with a grin, acting as if this surprise visit was the most normal thing in the world. “I thought I’d drop by and see how you were doing.”
Y/N gave him a quick hug, still trying to process the unexpected visit. “I didn’t know you were in town.”
“Just figured I’d come check on you in this new place of yours!” he said, waving it off as no big deal.
Logan stood, relieved now that Y/N was here to handle things. “I’ll let you two catch up,” he murmured, retreating toward the kitchen.
“Thanks, Logan,” Y/N said softly, before turning back to her father. “You’ve met Logan?”
Daniel nodded. “Yeah, nice guy. We were just talking about his work—special ed teacher, right?”
“Yeah, he is,” Y/N replied, adjusting to the idea of her dad sitting in her apartment, chatting with Logan of all people.
A moment later, the door opened, and Wade strolled in after his shift at the bar, his usual grin plastered across his face. He spotted Y/N and her dad sitting in the living room and raised an eyebrow.
“Hey, what’d I miss?” Wade asked, dropping his bag by the door.
“Wade, this is my dad,” Y/N introduced, trying to keep the situation from becoming even more awkward.
Wade immediately brightened. “Ah, family!” he announced with his signature charm, shaking her dad’s hand. “I’m Wade. Roommate number one— the one who makes sure this place doesn’t burn down.”
Y/N tried not to laugh while Logan snorted from the kitchen. Daniel chuckled, easily won over by Wade’s humor. “Nice to meet you, Wade.”
Wade flashed Y/N a grin before slipping off toward the kitchen, joining Logan who was standing by the counter, quietly observing from a distance.
“So that’s Y/N’s dad?” Wade asked, leaning against the counter. “What’s the verdict?”
Logan shrugged slightly, glancing back at the living room. “Talks a whole lot. Very intense. Protective. Y/N’s surprised by the visit.”
Wade crossed his arms, clearly intrigued. “I know, she was at the bar when you called. Did he mention why he’s here?”
Logan shook his head. “Not really. Just asked me a thousands questions in less than ten minutes. I didn’t want to pry.”
“Good call,” Wade nodded, then peered over the counter toward the living room again. “He staying for dinner?”
“No idea.” Logan replied, though the question hung between them as they began preparing something simple.
From the kitchen, Wade called out, “Mr. Y/L/N, are you staying for dinner?”
Before Y/N could answer, her dad jumped in with a grin. “Absolutely.”
Y/N shot a look in Wade and Logan's direction, as if to say, I wasn’t planning this, but they simply exchanged a glance between themselves. They shared a silent understanding— something about the situation was off. Wade raised an eyebrow, while Logan gave a subtle nod, signaling that they were both on alert now.
With no turning back, they set about preparing a simple meal, something easy but filling— pasta and a salad. While they worked, the soft hum of Y/N and her father’s conversation continued in the background, though they couldn’t help but tune in occasionally, catching snippets of what they were saying.
———
“So,” she began, choosing her words carefully. “What brings you here, Dad?”
Daniel leaned back on the couch, his eyes scanning the room. “Do I need a reason to visit my daughter?”
Y/N gave a small, hesitant smile. “No, of course not. But you didn’t tell me you were coming.”
“Wanted to surprise you,” he replied with a shrug, though there was something in his tone that sounded off. “Thought I’d check out your new place. Make sure it’s... decent.”
Y/N nodded slowly, sensing the subtle judgment in his words. “It’s fine, Dad. I like it here.” She let her eyes drift to the kitchen where Logan and Wade were working, grateful for the slight distraction.
Her father followed her gaze, raising an eyebrow when he saw Logan. “So… Logan, right?”
“Yeah,” Y/N said quickly, confused as to where this was going. “What about him?
“He seems like a solid guy. You sure you two are just... roommates?” He asked and she bit the inside of her cheek, bracing herself for where this conversation might go.
“Yes, Dad. We’re just roommates. That’s all.”
“Alright, alright, but what about Wade?” he asked,
“What's going on with you?" she blurted, raising an eyebrow as a grin threatened to break through.
Her father held up his hands in defense. “Just asking. Your mother and I used to talk about stuff like this, you know.”
Y/N blinked, caught off guard by the mention of her mom. Her father rarely brought her up that way, especially with how tense things still were between her parents, even decades after the divorce.  It was usually more an inappropriate comment her mother didn’t deserve.
“Oh, really?” she asked carefully, not sure where this was heading.
“Yeah,” Daniel continued, his tone softening a little. “Back before things went... south. We used to wonder what you’d end up doing, where you’d live, and who you’d end up with. She always had these big ideas. Thought you’d find someone nice. Maybe settle down with a guy like one of these guys.”
Y/N opened her mouth to respond but paused, momentarily stunned by his gentler tone. Her father, for once, wasn’t launching into some bitter comment about her mom.
“She really said that?” Y/N asked softly, her curiosity outweighing her hesitance.
Daniel nodded with a smile. “She did. We were always so worried about you, you know? But it wasn’t just about who you’d end up with. We would imagine your entire future, what career you’ll end up choosing, how many dogs you would have— cause you always wanted one and we always told you ‘You’ll get one when you'll have your own house’…”
Y/N was quiet for a moment, letting his words sink in. It had been so long since her father had spoken about her childhood without bitterness that she almost didn’t know how to respond.
“I didn’t know you guys had my whole life planned,” Y/N chuckled, her voice softer now, her guard slowly lowering.
Daniel glanced over at her, smiling. “Yeah, well…we did that with your brother— although we didn’t expect any of his life choices, but that’s another story.”
For the first time in years, Y/N felt a connection with her father. A sense of mutual understanding that didn’t come laced with tension or resentment. It was brief, but it was something.
She smiled, a real one this time. “Thanks for telling me all that, Dad. That means a lot.”
Daniel reached over and squeezed her hand, his touch firm but comforting. “I missed you, honey.”
Y/N smiled, feeling the weight between them lighten. “I missed you too.”
Before the moment could grow too emotional, Logan called from the kitchen, “Dinner’s ready.”
Y/N looked toward the kitchen and then back at her father, who was already starting to stand.
“Well, let’s see what your roommates can do in the kitchen,” Daniel said with a faint smirk.
As they made their way to the table, Y/N couldn’t help but think that they’d actually had a good conversation. One that hadn’t ended with her dad tearing her mom down or leaving her feeling caught in the middle. Maybe things weren’t perfect between them, but for now, this small moment of peace was enough.
Daniel took the seat next to Y/N, while Logan and Wade sat on the opposite side. The conversation started politely enough, with Wade doing his usual job of keeping things light. He shared stories from his bartending adventures, as he always did, earning a few chuckles from James, who seemed to enjoy Wade’s humor.
The smell of the simple pasta dish Logan and Wade had thrown together filled the apartment. The atmosphere was initially warm, with everyone engaged in casual conversation.
“So, Wade,” Y/N’s dad said as he twirled his fork through the spaghetti. “Y/N told me you're a comedian?”
Wade grinned. “Yeah, I make people laugh for a living. Or at least try to. It’s a tough crowd out there.”
Daniel nodded. “Well, we could all use more of that these days.”
The conversation ebbed and flowed easily at first, moving between work, the city, and Y/N’s life in the apartment. Wade cracked jokes here and there, and Logan offered his quiet, thoughtful input when needed. It felt comfortable, almost like a normal family dinner.
But then, the conversation shifted.
“So, Y/N,” her dad began, his tone changing ever so slightly. “Have you heard from your mom lately? Still living the California dream, I assume.”
Y/N felt her body tense, and she shot a quick glance at Logan, who was watching her father closely. Wade picked up on the shift too, though he didn’t say anything.
“She’s doing fine,” Y/N replied cautiously. “We talked last week, actually. She’s been busy with work, but she’s good.”
Her dad gave a small, dismissive shrug. “Work. Right. And still with that guy, I suppose?”
Y/N's eyes narrowed slightly. “Yes. His name is Paul.”
Her father sighed, shaking his head. “I just don’t get it. She moves halfway across the country, barely checks in, and now with your brother all the way in Europe—”
“Dad,” Y/N interrupted. “She didn’t move across the country to get away from us. She moved for herself. And we’re fine. Sam and I are doing just fine.”
Daniel scoffed softly, setting his fork down. “I’m not saying you’re not fine, Y/N. I just don’t see how a mother can be so far away from her kids and not feel guilty. If I were her, I’d—”
“Well, you’re not her,” Y/N cut in, her voice sharper now. “You’ve been divorced for years. She didn’t abandon us, and she still cares. You don’t need to keep bringing it up like she left us to fend for ourselves.”
Logan’s jaw tightened as he glanced between Y/N and her father, sensing the rising tension. Wade shifted uncomfortably in his seat but stayed silent, eyes flicking to Logan for some kind of cue.
“I’m just saying,” Daniel continued, his voice lower now, “she could have stayed. Made more of an effort. But she left.”
“She didn’t leave us, Dad,” Y/N said, her patience wearing thin. “And honestly, Sam and I— we’re adults. We didn’t need her to stay and ‘raise’ us anymore. You’ve moved on with your life. Why can’t you let her do the same?”
Her father’s face tightened, and the air in the room grew heavy with unspoken frustration. For a moment, it felt like everyone at the table was holding their breath.
“I know you’re grown, Y/N,” Daniel said quietly, his eyes hard but sad. “But I don’t think a parent ever stops worrying about their kids. I just want to make sure you’re okay.”
Y/N sighed, trying to keep her voice steady. “I am okay, Dad. But you’ve got to stop blaming her for everything. This is your issue, not mine. Mom’s living her life, and I’m living mine.”
The room was thick with tension now, and no one knew quite what to say. Y/N’s father looked down at his plate, clearly feeling the weight of her words. Logan glanced at Wade, who shot him a silent look of understanding—they both knew when to stay out of family affairs.
After a long pause, Daniel finally spoke, his voice quieter than before and looking at all the people at the table. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to drag things down.”
Y/N softened and shook her head. “I know, Dad. But you’ve got to let this go.”
There was another silence before he nodded slowly. “You’re right. I’m sorry.”
The mood at the table lightened just slightly as everyone tried to return to their meals, though the weight of the conversation still hung in the air.
For a moment, there was silence, the air thick with unspoken words. Then, as if on cue, Wade jumped in, his voice cheerful and light. “You know what’s great about family dinners? Dessert! Who’s ready for some ice cream?”
The sudden change in tone broke the tension, and Y/N gave Wade a grateful look. Her dad, too, seemed to relax, chuckling at Wade’s enthusiasm. “Ice cream, huh? Now that’s something I like to hear.”
As Wade made his way to the kitchen, Y/N’s father glanced around the apartment again. His eyes landed on the fridge, and something seemed to catch his attention. “Hey, is that the picture I think it is?”
Y/N followed his gaze, realizing he was looking at the family photo she had put up weeks ago.
“Yeah,” Y/N replied, her voice softer now. “Wade and Logan insisted that I should put it up when I moved in.”
Daniel stood and walked over to the fridge, staring at the picture for a long moment. His expression shifted, a mixture of nostalgia and something else—regret, maybe. He ran a hand through his hair, his voice quiet when he finally spoke. “That was a good day. One of the last before things started to go wrong.”
Y/N felt a lump form in her throat. Something about the way he was looking at the photo made her heart ache.
“It was,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Daniel turned to face her, his eyes softer now. “You’ve grown up so much, Y/N. I don’t say it enough, but I’m proud of you. No matter what happened between me and your mom, I’m proud of the person you’ve become. And I’m sorry for…all the mess that we caused.”
Y/N’s heart clenched at his words. She gave him a small, genuine smile. “Thanks, Dad.”
The moment hung in the air for a beat longer before Wade returned with bowls of ice cream, his voice breaking through the heaviness. “Alright, dessert is served! I got vanilla, chocolate, and this weird one Logan bought—pistachio whatever. Anyone feeling adventurous?”
Daniel chuckled, the warmth returning to his expression. “I’ll stick with chocolate, thanks.”
The atmosphere lightened once again, and they all sat back down at the table, enjoying their ice cream and talking a bit more.
As the plates were cleared and the remnants of dinner were packed away, Y/N walked her father to the door, feeling the tension of the evening settle uncomfortably between them. The earlier argument still simmered, but it had cooled to a manageable level.
“I didn’t mean to upset you,” her dad said quietly, standing in the doorway. “It’s just hard, you know? Seeing you grown up, dealing with your own stuff, and not being able to do anything about it.”
Y/N offered a small, tired smile. “I know, Dad. And I appreciate that you care. But I’ve got this. You don’t need to keep fighting old battles.”
Daniel sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “I guess I just still see you as my little girl. Hard to let that go sometimes.”
Y/N stepped forward and hugged him tightly. “I’ll always be your little girl, Dad. But you’ve got to trust that I know what I’m doing.”
Her father hugged her back, his arms wrapping around her in a way that felt both protective and regretful. “I’m sorry for bringing all that up. It wasn’t fair.”
Y/N pulled back slightly, meeting his eyes. “It’s okay. Just…next time, maybe we can talk about something else?”
He smiled. “Deal.”
With one last hug, Daniel stepped out into the hallway. “I’ll call you soon. Let me know if you ever need anything.”
“I will.” Y/N said, watching as her dad gave her one last nod before heading down the hallway.
When she closed the door, Y/N leaned against it, letting out a long breath. It hadn’t gone perfectly, but at least it was over. She turned around to find Logan and Wade standing there, watching her with quiet concern.
“I’m sorry,” Y/N began, her voice barely above a whisper. “I had no idea he was going to show up like that. I didn’t mean to put you both through all that drama.”
Wade, who was leaning casually against the kitchen counter, waved it off. “Are you kidding? This is mild compared to some of the shit I’ve seen and heard.”
Logan stepped closer, his expression soft. “You don’t need to apologize. Family stuff happens. We’re in this with you.”
Y/N blinked, a small, grateful smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. “Thanks, but it was just… a lot.”
Logan nodded. “We get it. You don’t choose your family, but you can make your own, you know?”
Wade chimed in with a grin. “And lucky for you, you’ve got us, the best family you could ever create.”
Y/N laughed softly, the warmth of their words settling into her chest. “Thanks, guys.”
Logan gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder, and Wade, sensing the need for space, stretched dramatically. “Alright, I’m out. This emotional rollercoaster wiped me out. I’ll catch you both in the morning.”
“Goodnight, Wade,” Y/N said, shaking her head with a smile as he disappeared into his room.
Logan gave Y/N a lingering look. “You good?”
She nodded, still trying to shake off the heavy emotions of the night. “Yeah. I just need a minute.”
Logan gave her a small nod. “Take your time. Goodnight, Y/N.”
“Goodnight.”
Logan disappeared into his room as well, and Y/N sank into the couch. The living room was quiet now, and for a while, she let herself just breathe. The weight of the conversation with her dad still lingered, along with the tangled emotions from the night. She found herself staring at nothing, lost in her thoughts.
The hours slipped by unnoticed, the apartment dim and silent around her. She didn’t realize how late it had gotten until she heard the soft sound of footsteps approaching. Startled, Y/N turned her head to see Logan walking into the living room, his hair tousled from sleep.
“You okay?” he asked, his voice low, concerned.
Y/N let out a small, humorless laugh. “I thought you went to bed.”
“I did,” Logan said, sitting down on the couch beside her. “But I saw the lights were still on and thought you had fallen asleep here.”
Y/N sighed, her eyes fixed on the floor. “Sorry. I guess I didn’t realize how much time passed. I’ve just been… thinking.”
Logan watched her closely. “About what?”
Y/N shrugged, trying to find the words. “I don’t know. Everything, I guess. My dad, my mom, the divorce… I don’t want to cry about it. It feels like I’d be a little girl again, crying over something that happened so long ago. Like I can’t move on.”
Logan leaned forward, his arms resting on his knees as he looked at her. “It doesn’t matter how long ago it was. If it’s still hurting you, it’s okay to cry about it.”
Y/N shook her head, trying to swallow the lump forming in her throat. “But I shouldn’t. I’m not a kid anymore. Fuck, I’m a grown ass adult in my thirties. I can’t let this stuff affect me like it did back then.”
Logan's voice softened. “Y/N, you’re allowed to feel whatever you’re feeling. You don’t have to hold it in just because it’s been years. It’s still part of you.”
Y/N felt the tears prick at her eyes, but she fought to keep them at bay. “I don’t want to cry.”
“You don’t have to,” Logan said gently. “But if you do, I’m right here. You don’t have to do it alone.”
Y/N’s defenses crumbled at his words. She felt the dam break inside her, and before she could stop herself, the tears started to flow. At first, it was just a few quiet sobs, but soon she was genuinely crying, her shoulders shaking as the weight of everything she had been holding in finally spilled out.
Logan didn’t say a word. He simply shifted closer and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her into a comforting embrace. Y/N buried her face in his chest, her tears soaking his shirt, but Logan didn’t seem to mind. He just held her, letting her cry, offering nothing but his presence.
After a few minutes, Y/N’s sobs began to quiet. She stayed in Logan’s arms, feeling the warmth of his body and the steady beat of his heart beneath her cheek. It was calming, grounding.
“I hate this,” she whispered after a long pause, her voice hoarse. “I hate that it still hurts.”
“I know,” Logan murmured softly. “But it’s okay. You’ve been carrying it for a long time.”
Y/N wiped her eyes, her breathing evening out. “I feel so stupid.”
“You’re not stupid,” Logan said.
Y/N sniffled, pulling back slightly to look at him. “Thank you. For being here.”
Logan gave her a small smile, his hand still resting on her shoulder. “I’ll always be here for you. You know that, right?”
She nodded, feeling a wave of gratitude wash over her, and maybe something else. “Yeah. I do.”
After another long moment of silence, Logan shifted, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “You should get some sleep.”
She nodded. “You’re right. I got school tomorrow.”
Logan stood up and offered her a hand, helping her up from the couch. “You’ll feel better in the morning.”
Y/N smiled, feeling a little lighter. “You need to rest too, you know.”
Logan chuckled softly. “I will. But I’m not the one who just went through a rollercoaster of a night.”
Y/N gave him a grateful look as they walked toward their rooms. “Night, Logan. And… thanks again.”
Logan stopped at his door and gave her a soft smile. “See you tomorrow.”
With that, they each retreated to their rooms, leaving the quiet of the apartment to settle around them once more. But this time, the silence felt a little more peaceful, a little more comforting.

My god, Cassian is just so young in season 1 of Andor. On this last rewatch, it kept jumping out at me everywhere. Especially at the start of the show, which makes sense--he goes through a pretty intense education over the course of the season and transforms before our eyes. But there's just so much in Cassian that comes from being young, traumatized, and desperate.
We see it in his moments of unabashed fear, like when he's stopped by the two corpos in the pilot, the first time he sees the TIE fighter fly past on Aldhani, or as the prison transport takes off for Narkina 5. Even when he tries to hide it, we can see it in his eyes, the parts of him that are still that scared kid from Kenari.
We see it in the chip he has on his shoulder, like the attitude he cops with Luthen in their first meeting: "I don't know you." He's not just guarded and distrustful, he kind of actively resents this guy trying to get too familiar with him. When he's scared, uncertain, or guilty, he tends to push others away, a product of having to fight most of his life and of losing many of the things and people he's cared about. I also think of him coldly telling Bix, "You won't have to worry about me anymore," at the end of their argument in "Announcement."
And yet, by the same token, he can also be surprisingly open and earnest in his affections. For me, this is most apparent in his scenes with Maarva in "Announcement." There, we see his naive optimism that the money he got from Aldhani can solve all their problems. He's so buoyant and hopeful and loving as he suggests running away, saying, "What do we need but the three of us?" Later in the episode, we see that same naivety when he insists, "We'll find a place they haven't ruined yet." But it crops up in other places too. On Aldhani, he chooses Clem's name as his pseudonym, even though he already realizes Luthen has a lot of intel on him and will probably recognize it--in that moment, his distrust of Luthen is outweighed by his desire to go into this dangerous mission carrying a small piece of his dad with him. Then there's that beautiful hug with Brasso in "Rix Road," especially those few extra beats past when you'd expect them to part. When he hugs Melshi in the previous episode, Cassian is rushed, on the brink of falling apart and not wanting Melshi to see. But with Brasso, Cassian needs that touch for a few extra seconds, and he's not afraid to hold on a little longer.
Most of Cassian's dumbest mistakes in the season are very youthful ones. He's an incredibly smart and observant guy, so he's not dumb very often, but when he is, it tends to come back to being young, traumatized, and desperate. We see this especially in the opening Ferrix arc: insisting on bringing an unsecured comm to his meeting with Luthen (oh my god, the way he bickers with B2EMO about them beforehand!) and trying to go back for the starpath unit when the shit hits the fan, even after Luthen repeatedly tells him to leave it. With the starpath unit, part of it is naivety--"What if it's just one guy left?"--and part of it is growing up poor and scrappy. This box represents more money than he's ever had at any one time, and he simply can't process the idea that his buyer would just leave it behind.
Finally, every now and then, Cassian has this subtle but impeccable "little shit" energy. We definitely see it when he messes with Timm in the pilot, deliberately goading him instead of trying to defuse the situation when he sees that Timm is jealous. It's a dumb, petty moment of cheap satisfaction that winds up with some intense blowback when Timm IDs him to Pre-Mor. And I love Cassian's refusal to give up on Kino on Narkina 5, always believing he can be brought into the fold no matter how many times Kino tells him to forget about it. It's a great reflection of how Cassian rejects the Empire's attempts to divide the inmates by pitting them against each other, but part of why he's able to keep at it is his annoying-kid tenacity. I love the scene where Kino brushes him off by saying how many shifts he has left and Cassian immediately responds with, "So...tell me what you know before you go."
It's simply wild to compare the Cassian we see in "Kassa" to the one in "Rix Road." He goes through so much in twelve episodes and really comes into his own, and it's fantastic to see some of the qualities he displays in Rogue One starting to peek through. He's already come so far in his character growth--I cannot wait to see how season 2 gets us from "Rix Road" to Rogue One!
Oh yeah, and Diego Luna is simply stunning. You can really feel how he traced Cassian's life backwards to this point, see how different the Cassian of "Kassa" is from the Cassian of Rogue One and yet still fully believe that this is the same character. All the little hints he drops, all the tiny moments where you can see Rogue One Cassian starting to gestate. It's such beautiful, brilliant work!

dad!wing headcanons tw: cursing
🏙️ . . dick quite literally never expected to have a child — he’s the guy in his thirties who reacts to friends pregnancy announcements like ‘omg what are you gonna tell your parents!?’ so when you come into his life there’s a solid period of time where the two of you are just staring at each other like o.o and neither of you know what to do
🏙️ . . dick kinda sorta gets his shit together with the help of a village. alfred insists on babysitting even if it routinely means the commute from gotham to bludhaven. tim who is surprisingly good with kids drops by unannounced when he knows dick is struggling just to entertain you for a while. steph has already accepted you as partially her baby as well and so you probably spend a lot of time with her as well.
🏙️ . . jason keeps his distance for a while unsure if dick would even want him around his kid but they meet once when jason is in blud for case advice and you just latch onto him … you’re absolutely clinging and crawling all over him, you’re enamored by literally every part of him and probably throw a fit when he has to leave.
🏙️ . . anyway! dick loves you more than anything in the world but as previously stated: this man never expected to be a dad… or at least not so young he’s in his thirties and at a perfectly reasonable age to have kids but whatever
🏙️ . . he probably misses school stuff on occasion and you get left home alone or tossed between different sitters because he’s out late getting his butt kicked across bludhaven
🏙️ . . he comes home limping and all beat up cursing and swearing because he’s pretty sure he fucked up his ankle something fierce and he didn’t expect you to still be up but you’re sitting on the couch looking unimpressed
🏙️ . . you point to the swear jar and dick just groans because ‘this time doesn’t count, you extortionist!’
🏙️ . . dick tries to kiss you on the forehead and send you off to bed but you’re a worrier — as a result of your whole family being weirdo vigilantes — and you hover while your dad peels off his suit and starts inspecting the damage
🏙️ . . it’s all fairly superficial except the ankle injury which is gonna be an annoying recovery period but he promises you that he’s okay and sends you off the bed for real this time when he gets in the shower.
🏙️ . . he comes into your room when he’s done because he’s worried about you, he knows him being nightwing can be kinda scary for you.
🏙️ . . you’ve got your head shoved under a pillow and he starts poking at your side and you’re whining and trying to squirm away, ‘dad im sleeping’
🏙️ . . and he’s like ‘no you’re not, you’ve probably got your switch under your pillow with you, twerp’
🏙️ . . and so you reluctantly come out from under your little cocoon you leave your switch though because you did have it and dick has got a little smile on his face and he asks if you wanna sleep in his bed tonight and at first you’re like ‘im too old for that dad 🙄’ but he says he’d feel lonely and so you suppose if it would make him feel better you might as well
🏙️ . . you end up clinging to him because you absolutely were terrified when he came home all beat up and even though you’d never admit it you’d planned to sneak into his room later anyway
🏙️ . . your favorite pastime with your dad is gymnastics at his gym, he’s taught you the basics of how to spar and self defense but your favorite is always up on the bars
🏙️ . . every halloween he tries to convince you to be nightwing but just to be a little shit you’ve been like every member of the family except nightwing — including one year you went as richie wayne ward of bruce wayne just to be extra annoying
🏙️ . . that said you kinda live in nightwing merch because dick has an embarrassing amount of his own memorabilia and you like to steal his shirts
🏙️ . . dick is not good with discipline.. like at all. he never got the hang of it with damian and he absolutely hadn’t perfected it by the time you came around so he usually needs a pep talk before he punishes you or he’ll just back out and probably offer to go get ice cream.
🏙️ . . ‘what you did was very um—‘ *trying to remember what bruce told him to say* ‘it was very impetuous!’
🏙️ . . damian scoffs because he’s heard this from bruce more than once
🏙️ . . when you get into trouble damian is almost always there, he’s taken on the role of honorary big brother and dick swears the two of you are going to give him grey hair (he says this and damian says he already has grey hair which starts another round of back and forth)
🏙️ . . dick and you cook together a lot even if neither of you are particularly good at it, if you’re lucky jason offers to come over and you can rope him into cooking but still. when jasons not there you guys can cobble together something half edible and even though the kitchen always ends up a mess you enjoy the time together.
🏙️ . . you eat at the table cause dick read something once about not eating in front of the tv
🏙️ . . dick asks you about your day and school and friends and everything because he loves hearing you talk about your ‘normal life’ and knowing you’re safe and happy most of the time. he’s the dad that gets overly invested in his kids like… middle school drama.
🏙️ . . he’s absolutely taking sides and has one sided beef with anyone who’s given his kid a hard time even if they’re like 12
🏙️ . . basically he’s your best friend :)

A Very Corroded Black Friday AKA Extended Holiday Hours CCFest x SMVerse Eddie Munson x Store Manager!Reader
CCFest Black Friday Prompt: One Day Only
Summary: In an unprecedented turn for 1986, StarCourt Mall announces that it's staying open for 24 Hours on Black Friday. Eddie barely survived a regular shift last year; what will happen when he and his friends embark on an adventure during the dreaded Extended Holiday Hours? It's one day only. How bad could it be?
Word Count: 5.6k
Rating: T
Warnings/Themes: No Upside Down AU, Friendship, Fluff, Angst, Humor, Character Growth, established relationship between Eddie and the Claire's Store Manager (reader), references to media and pop culture, retail and food service themes
Notes: Thanks to @corrodedcoffinfest for another fantastic pop-up, this one absolutely up my alley.
This fic is set in my Store Manager Verse. It's a very fluffy friends-to-lovers story about Eddie, who works at Tape World, and the Claire's Store Manager. This installment will be set in 1986 and I'll do my best to make it as digestible as possible for anyone who hasn't read SMVerse. Just know that the focus will be on Corroded Coffin more than Eddie and Reader.
I might be a smidge late with this than I hoped I would be; I had my own Black Friday nightmares to deal with today. Such is the world of retail. Hope you enjoy the shenanigans of our favorite guys.
You can find my masterlist here.

November 27, 1986 - Thanksgiving 11:45PM
"Do we have to go in?"
"Yes."
"What if we all faked our deaths and changed our names?"
"Then you can't buy your mom that glass bird she wanted for Christmas, dingus."
"We could just sell one of Dave's kidneys to buy the bird."
"Why one of my kidneys? She's your mom!"
"Considering how many 'your mom' jokes I've had to hear, it might as well be your kidney."
"Guys!" you shouted to get them all to stop their bickering. "It'll be alright. It's just Black Friday. We'll survive."
"Barely," Eddie grumbled from his spot in the driver's seat.
"You're not helping," you scoffed at him.
You were all piled into the van, staring at the brightly-lit entrance to StarCourt Mall as though it was the gate to hell.
As a matter of fact, it might as well have been. There was already a line of grouchy, cold customers gathered outside the entrance to the mall, and each time a group of employees approached to be let in by mall security, they started shouting and getting restless, as though the doors were about to open for them instead of the poor souls that would inevitably be the targets of their shitty behavior.
After a year of being open, the excitement around the new and shiny StarCourt Mall had faded. Now it was just The Mall, much like every new shopping center became after the novelty wore off. People still shopped, of course they did, but mall management seemed to like the hype that had surrounded StarCourt upon their grand opening.
So they came up with a gimmick that got them on the news and in the papers and had all of the residents of Roane County talking: Extended Holiday Hours.
In fact, not just any extended hours.
The mall would be open for 24 Hours on Black Friday.
Actually, it wouldn't just be open. It was a whole event.
There would be gift certificates for the first 100 customers who entered the mall, raffles and giveaways, free snacks and hot cocoa available all day, and all the pomp and circumstance surrounding Santa's long-awaited arrival to Roane County as his workshop opened for families to snap their perfect holiday pictures.
Gag.
Although you were well-versed in retail with a store of your own--that you'd volunteered to work the whole 24 hours with a sneaky nap in the stock room slipped in--Eddie had only experienced one Black Friday, as a mid-shift. And Jeff, Gareth, and Dave? This would be their first holiday season in retail, let alone a crazy gimmick on the biggest shopping day of the year.
So the Gates of Hell? Yeah, they were actually looking pretty tame compared to StarCourt Mall.
As if sensing your sudden and uncharacteristic trepidation, Eddie sat a little straighter and took on a look of determination.
"Alright," he rallied as the clock on the dashboard clicked closer to midnight. "Are we gonna sit in here and freeze to death as we wait in fear? Or are we gonna go in there and try our best? Because those paychecks are gonna look pretty nice if we survive.
"So what do you guys say?"
He turned back to his younger friends, eyebrows raised expectantly.
They all glanced at each other before they all shouted for Eddie to start the van and drive them all home.
"Unbelievable," he grumbled and yanked his keys from the ignition so he could climb out of the van himself.
You and the others followed suit and you walked towards the entrance together, in solidarity, before splitting off to your respective stores once you were in.
StarCourt's 24-Hour Black Friday Blowout was One Day Only.
How bad could it possibly be?

3:15AM Gareth - Hot Dog on a Stick
Gare didn't know how people could be hungry for something from the food court in the middle of the goddamned night when they'd just gorged themselves on Thanksgiving dinner and surely had plenty of leftovers back home.
At least, that was the mindset he had when he agreed to being on the opening shift for Black Friday.
Hot Dog on a Stick hadn't been his first choice for a job; actually, he thought that he'd be a shoe-in for getting rehired at Santa's Workshop, just like he'd done last year for some extra cash. Unfortunately, he'd been a little too late with his application.
"Food Court's always hiring though," his old boss suggested sympathetically.
So Hot Dog on a Stick it was.
He thought the job would be easy, especially the opening shift for Black Friday. He'd had his training shifts and they had gone so well! He figured they'd be like that. 8 hours of eating funnel cake fries and thinking of the perfect gifts for his friends and flirting with his coworker, Annie, until it was time to go home.
Maybe he'd even get the balls to ask her out by the time they clocked out.
He should have known that expectation would definitely not meet reality.
And everything that could go wrong definitely did.
He'd burned the first batch of hot dogs that they'd prepared as they opened for business. He swore he'd only turned to get a glimpse of Annie's perfect profile for just a second as she talked and laughed with their shift lead. Next thing he knew, the fryer was beeping and the oil was bubbling and he was scrambling to get the hot dogs out as quickly as he could before the fire alarms went off.
His rotation at the register wasn't much better.
You know, he was actually pretty good at keeping track of things in DnD. Jeff was the more superior note-taker, but Gareth was actually the one who caught all of the little intricacies that Jeff seemed to miss.
Taking orders from people was an entirely different story, though. He couldn't seem to press the right buttons on the cash register, and if he did and he got lucky, he forgot to charge them for something else. The line of customers just got longer and longer, and angrier and angrier, and his shift lead kept coming over to fix his mistakes.
He was about to scream when he felt Annie's hand on his shoulder.
"Why don't I take over for you," she smiled sympathetically. "I'm pretty good on the register. If you want to just focus on getting everyone's orders together?"
He swallowed his frustration, nodded dumbly, and listened to the suggestion.
The longer he kept his head down and focused on the task at hand, the more dejected he felt. This job was chaotic and fast-paced and unlike anything he'd ever done in his life. There were so many eyes on him and he kept messing up. It had only been 3 hours and somehow he felt like he never wanted to come back again.
Soon, it was time for him to take his lunch. He was already so sick of the smell of food that he skipped his own lovingly-packed leftovers in favor of walking around the mall. As he dodged wayward customers shuffling from one store to the next, laden with shopping bags, he contemplated ripping his stupid hat off his head and quitting.
Money or no money, he didn't care; his shift lead could take his stupid job and shove it.
When he returned to the food court, though, he saw something that made him change his mind.
Annie was in the back, sitting on an overturned milk crate, with her head in her hands as she cried quietly.
"Hey," he said, trying not to startle her. "You ok?"
"No!" she wailed and looked up at him. Her eyes were filled with fire, but they softened as they landed on Gareth. "No. Some lady called me stupid because I wouldn't accept her dumb StarCourt Black Friday coupon. It even said 'excludes food court' on it, and she refused. Then when I refused to get a manager to give her a discount, she squirted me with mustard and said '"'the customer is always right.'"
Lo and behold, the front of her multicolor uniform was stained with splotches of yellow mustard.
"What a bitch," Gareth swore.
"Yeah," she sniffed. "What a bitch."
The two of them stared at each other for a second before they laughed and shared more of their woes with each other.
Gareth quickly realized that as bad as he had it at this shitty job, his coworkers had it just as bad, if not worse. And it would all be ok, because they had each other to complain to and make faces at.
So he might quit, one day. Maybe even tomorrow. But it certainly wouldn't be today.

6:00AM Dave - Spencer's Gifts
"Where do you think you're going, David?"
Dave froze at the voice behind him as he crept closer and closer to the front of the store. He turned and found himself under the unsettling--and quite frankly creepy--gaze of his boss, Henry Creel.
"Uh," he fidgeted. "Hey Henry. What's up? You need me on register?"
He knew that Henry most certainly did not need him on register, and he fidgeted under that intense stare as Henry folded his arms over his chest and waited for Dave to fess up to...whatever it was that he was up to.
See, Dave wasn't as stupid as he was making himself out to be here; actually, he was pretty clever. But he was the worst when it came to confrontation.
Expectation.
Or possibly a simple case of indecision.
This whole thing started because he needed a job. Who didn't? But given the way you and Eddie and Gareth went on and on about working at the mall, he'd been enticed into applying at almost every store at StarCourt.
Spencer's had been his dream, short of rock star or sex symbol or Geddy Lee's muse. How could it not be? The lewd t-shirts and the gag gifts. Of course, with a manager like Henry, he thought that he'd bombed the interview.
That's why when Mr. Newby had called and offered him a seasonal position at Radio Shack, he'd said yes immediately.
Dave had been ecstatic. He already liked the jovial, older man. He was not only friendly to his customers but he was friendly to his employees too. Dave really felt like he was part of the family when he'd gone into orientation.
So why was he currently at Spencer's?
Because after he'd hung up the phone with Bob, Henry had called to offer him another seasonal position.
His dream job at StarCourt.
What could he possibly do but accept the job? Accept both jobs. Especially when Bob was so nice to him, and Henry was so off-putting.
Dave figured...he was done with school, there wouldn't be anything wrong with having two jobs and juggling both schedules and band practice and DnD. That should've been the end of it.
He'd gone to orientations and training shifts. He got shiny plastic name tags and keys to the locked cases and quickly made friends with his coworkers. Everything was going swimmingly.
Until his Black Friday shifts overlapped entirely.
He tried to bring it up to both of his managers but every time he tried to open his mouth and say something, he lost his nerve.
In the end he figured if he was smart about it, he could work both shifts simultaneously.
And he had been smart about it. Radio Shack and Spencer's were almost right across from each other in the same wing at StarCourt. With the massive crowds of customers to take advantage of, plus some well-planned breaks and lunches, and some over-staffing for the big day, he could sneak across the hall every so often and no one would know any better.
He switched his name tags and his keyring, dedicating his left pocket to Radio Shack and his right pocket to Spencer's.
And it had been working.
Until now.
He and Henry stared at each other, as if waiting for the other to break, but Dave had never been good at staring contests and Henry seemed like he never needed to blink. Dave's eyes watered and his resolve wavered as his fear of confrontation got the best of him.
"Alright," Dave threw his hands over his head. "I'm sorry. I didn't want to do it, I just couldn't tell you that I had a job at Radioshack or Bob that I had another job here. I didn't want to let either of you down. And I know I should just pick one store, but I like both jobs and I...I don't know...I don't know! I'm sorry!"
He hung his head in shame and waited for the older man to yell at him or tell him that he was fired or to get lost. He wouldn't even blame Henry if he turned him around and gave him a swift kick in the ass.
Instead, his boss crossed the distance and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"You know, you could've just told me about the situation with your other job," Henry told him earnestly.
"Seriously?" Dave asked, dumbstruck.
"I'm not gonna fire you because you have a second job," Henry snorted. "There's nothing wrong with that. Joey works weekends at Bradley's too, and I work with him to make sure he isn't overworking himself as much as I can. I know I can be a little...intense sometimes, but I'm your manager, not a villain."
Dave forced himself to laugh along with his boss.
"I'll let you have an extra fifteen if you want to go and explain the situation to Bob. And you can decide which store you want to finish off the rest of your shift at."
"Alright. Thanks Henry."
Henry clapped him on the shoulder and then nodded towards RadioShack.
Dave thanked him again and then started to walk away, when he paused and turned back to Henry.
"Hey, uh, how'd you find out?" Dave asked. "That I was sneaking out of the store?"
"Well," Henry took a breath and folded his arms over his chest. "It took some serious observation skills, some detective work on my part. You honestly did a good job of sneaking back and forth in my opinion. I didn't realize it until five minutes ago when you made one fatal mistake."
"Seriously? What did I do wrong?"
Henry took a step forward and flicked a finger against Dave's chest.
"You're still wearing your Radio Shack name tag."
Tumblr media
9:05AM Jeff - Sam Goody
Jeff was a pretty easy going guy, if he could say so himself.
He was funny, he was level-headed, he was attentive and a good friend, and he could get his friends out of a pinch if and when they needed him. And since he started this job, he found out that he was a pretty damn good employee too!
But today, of all days, he had a problem.
"Hey Jeffy," his coworker, Gina, snickered over the headset. "Your stalker is back."
And that problem was named Edward J. Munson.
"I think he's hiding behind the dump bins of discount cassettes Jeff, if you wanna deal with that?" His manager chimed in, causing Jeff to groan and abandon his spot in the back of the store.
Jeff couldn't exactly say that he blamed Eddie, really.
Well, that wasn't exactly true. Eddie was the reason they were both in this predicament in the first place.
Jeff had just wanted a job, just like everyone else, and he figured it would be really cool if he could work at Tape World alongside Eddie. It was a job that revolved around music, and over the course of the last year or so, Jeff had really witnessed Eddie develop another layer of confidence in himself, especially after losing it all the first two times he failed to graduate.
Now look at him, he was a keyholder at a job he was really good at, he finally graduated high school, and he had a girlfriend? He had really come into his own.
Jeff felt like it was his turn now.
Especially as he put any serious college plans on hold so they could focus on the band once Gareth graduated in June. Sure, he took a few classes at the tri-county community college and even had a job at the book store on campus. But music was his passion, just like Eddie's. So a job at Tape World made the most sense.
Only Eddie had said no.
Actually, he blamed you. Said you told him not to help his friends get a job once-upon-a-time, because that just put a strain on friendships.
And Jeff could understand how you'd come to that conclusion; shit, they had enough creative differences with Corroded Coffin sometimes.
So Jeff turned to the next-best option: Sam Goody.
Because there wasn't just one music store in the mall. There were two. Just because he couldn't work at Tape World didn't mean that he couldn't work at any music store.
But that had been a little too much for Eddie to stomach, apparently.
"Traitor!" he had wailed when Jeff excitedly broke the news to him. He'd fallen to his knees and clutched his chest as though his heart was about to burst. "How could you do this to me? To us. Didn't you learn your lesson when we watched the Godfather? Never go against the family Fredo!"
"It's just a job Eddie," Jeff argued as he nudged his friend where he was dramatically lying prone on the ground. "I'm not a traitor. I'm not going against the family."
No matter how much Jeff tried to defend himself, though, Eddie couldn't seem to get over the hurdle. Especially not today of all days, where he crept down the hall to sneak into Sam Goody and spy on Jeff every chance he got.
Breaks, trips to the loading dock to take out garbage, he even brought you along when you guys went on lunch together. He tried to be as stealthy as he could, ducking behind displays or holding a magazine over his face, but the whole Sam Goody staff recognized Eddie after the first two hours of the day. And after a good 9 hours of endless greetings and sales spiels and customer interactions, Jeff was starting to lose his mind, hallucinating Eddies all around the store. If someone wore a denim vest or leather jacket or a pair of brown eyes stared at him through a video display, well that must be Eddie.
Now his shift was almost over, enough was enough, and Eddie needed a swift talking to so that Jeff didn't have to put up with this nonsense for the rest of his life.
Or, at the very least, until his boss got sick of Eddie's antics and fired him.
Jeff circumnavigated the store so that he could sneak behind Eddie, and when he found the older boy crouched behind a cardboard standee of Cyndi Lauper, he lifted his foot and kicked Eddie right in the ass.
"Fah...rts," Eddie caught himself before he swore in front of a group of kids. He turned and glared at Jeff. "Farts, Jeffrey. What the hell was that for?"
"Why are you playing Mission: Impossible in my store, Ed?" Jeff questioned in response.
"I think you answered your own question there," Eddie sniffed haughtily. "Mission: Impossible. Reconnaissance. Scoping out the competition. Someone has to do it, especially since someone decided to turn to the dark side."
"I didn't turn to the dark side!" Jeff threw his hands in the air. "I'm not a traitor, I didn't betray our friendship, because I work at a rival store that you do."
"No but that's exactly what it is. I wouldn't help you get a job at Tape World, so you decided you'd break my heart by working for my nemesis."
"I don't think Sam Goody is your nemesis, Eddie," Jeff snorted.
"It's commercial," Eddie argued. "It's mainstream. It's--"
"It's a job," Jeff interjected. "I make $3.50 per hour and I get one free tape per month if I work more than 20 hours. It's fun here, I like my coworkers. I like the job. And I'm sure I would've liked it if I worked at Tape World with you too."
"You could've had fun selling candles at Wicks and Sticks!"
Jeff felt a pang in his chest, and although he could see the pain in Eddie's eyes, he needed to put his own feelings first. For once.
"I wanted to work someplace I enjoyed." He shrugged dejectedly. "You're always telling us to follow our hearts. So I did. And if that means that I'm a traitor...that I'm your nemesis now...I guess that's exactly what I am. And you don't need to worry about driving your nemesis home from work Ed. Have a great day."
He turned on his heel to head back towards his section to finish off his shift, heart plummeting into his ass as he realized that this nonsense probably cost him his closest friend.
But a hand clamped on his arm and stopped him before he got much further.
Jeff turned back and raised a questioning brow at Eddie.
"Can I help you find anything today sir?" he asked.
Eddie's mouth opened and closed a few times as he found the right words, face scrunched with, what Jeff knew was, self-loathing. Finally, he spoke.
"I thought," he paused for a moment to lick his lips. "I thought you took this job because you were mad at me for not getting you a job at Tape World. I hadn't realized it was because you actually wanted to...to work at a store like this."
"Damn Ed, are you the only one who can suggest music to people?" Jeff snarked.
"Considering I have the correct taste in music, yes," Eddie responded without missing a beat. But his expression got soft again. "But I'll let you tell people to listen to...I dunno Bon Jovi or whatever it is you guys sell here. As long as you're having fun doing it."
"I am," Jeff nodded, and then smiled widely. "I really like working here Eddie."
"Good."
"Good."
"Alright then," Eddie cleared his throat and clapped a hand on Jeff's shoulder. "We're good then."
"Yeah."
"Then I only need to come and spy to make sure they're treating you well."
"No more spying Eddie!" Jeff laughed.
"Fine!" Eddie groaned and rolled his eyes exaggeratedly. "No more spying."
Tumblr media
2:35 PM Eddie - Tape World
Eddie was exhausted.
He hadn't expected to work a double, but he seemed to draw the short straw when Paulie showed up for his shift and promptly puked all over the front of the store.
Lucky bastard, getting some kind of food poisoning from Thanksgiving dinner.
Honestly, Eddie would rather be sick in bed instead of surrounded by screaming customers and all of the new hires that were now his responsibility to corral around the god damned store.
"Why me?" he whined to Kyle as his boss stood in front of the bathroom mirror and fixed the novelty turkey hat on his head.
"Because I don't want to," Kyle snorted.
"It's good to be the king, isn't it," Eddie swatted the turkey off Kyle's head, earning a groan from the older man. "Come on, I'm already picking up Paulie's shift, have Mitch babysit the new kids. I'll do all the returns. Every customer complaint. For the rest of my shift."
"You," Kyle poked a finger into Eddie's chest, "constantly refer to yourself as a shepherd with your little sheepies. I'm just adding to your flock. It's a bunch of kids from the high school. You need to work on your leadership skills if you wanna promote to ASM one day. This is how you get there.
"Just preach the good word about metal to them and do a few headbangs to hypnotize them, and then have them work on alphabetizing tapes. Easy squeezy."
And God Bless Kyle, because as good of a boss as he was to Eddie and the rest of the team--the older brother they never realized they wanted or needed--he was honestly a liar and an asshole.
Keeping an eye on the new hires was not easy or squeezy.
Eddie seriously didn't think that he had as bad of a time last year when he was new. But he guessed that last year he had a few months of experience under his belt before black friday. These kids were fresh.
A poindexter-type kid named Lawrence--not to be referred to as Larry by any means--who actually complained about how loud the music was inside of the store before he wandered off on his own and Eddie couldn't be bothered with him.
A blue-haired punk girl with a mohawk who dared to call him a freak and criticize him for his t-shirt. He hadn't even needed to tell her to go and organize the tapes, she took the initiative herself after she called the store a pig stye.
Eddie had to respect that.
Lastly, there was the one...
The only...
Mike fucking Wheeler.
"What? How did you get a job here Wheeler?" Eddie scoffed and crossed his arms. "I even told Jeff that he couldn't work here. Conflict of interest. No working with friends."
"Who said?" Mike whined.
"Mom says," Eddie emphasized the kids nickname for you.
"Bullshit. Besides, I'm already hired, and I'm here now. So you're just gonna have to deal with it."
Eddie grit his teeth as Mike grinned smugly.
"Kyle!!!!" He shouted across the store for his boss.
There was no way he was going to work with Mike Wheeler.
Unfortunately, that was exactly what he had to do.
And speaking of shepherd and sheep, that's exactly what Eddie and Mike looked like. Eddie went to help a customer and Mike trailed right behind him. Eddie labeled markdowns, Mike was labeling them too. Eddie suggested Metallica to a customer, Mike would interject with his favorite Metallica album to them.
The album which happened to also be Eddie's favorite as well.
It was honestly getting a bit annoying.
"He probably misses you," you offered when Eddie jogged upstairs to see how you were faring on the second leg of your own lengthy shift. "He looks up to you. And Dustin does too. And Lucas. They all do. This is probably a treat to hang out with you since you graduated. Be nice to him."
Eddie leaned closer to mutter in your ear, "He's waiting outside right now sweetheart."
"Ok," you sighed. "That's a little weird. Send him off on his own break. Give him a task of his own. Show him how to use the register. He doesn't need to follow you helplessly; you're letting him do it."
Eddie tried.
He absolutely did.
Mike was hopeless though.
Register training went about as badly as it could on Black Friday, with several buttons jamming and the cash drawer getting stuck in the open position.
Eddie even tried to get Mike to sweep, and Mike took it upon himself to actually mop the floors. Mop. On black friday. With a store full of customers.
Yeah, that was a disaster.
And Eddie could feel his blood pressure skyrocketing.
All while Kyle oversaw the whole store and laughed at every mishap.
Thankfully, the end of his shift was imminent, and he would be free of Mike Wheeler. At least until the next shift they had together.
"Maybe I'll have a stroke before then," he sighed and headed to the stock room to get his things so he could go and pass out back home.
Only to find Mike sitting at the little desk waiting for him.
"You did good today, Wheeler," he sighed and beelined for the little locker that held his things. He at least tried to put a little bit of a positive attitude on for Mike. It was his first day, after all. "It'll all get easier next time, you'll see. Just like learning to ride a bike."
"Uh," Mike scratched the back of his neck and shuffled back and forth. "I don't think I'll be coming back."
Eddie froze and stared at the younger boy.
"What?"
"Yeah, I...I just don't think I'm cut out for a job like this," he shrugged. "You make it look so easy."
"Practice. It takes practice," Eddie insisted. "What did I just say? Learning to ride a bike. You've gotta fall off a few times first. Scrape your knees and all that shit."
"Well, I think I'm in intensive care with the number of times I fell off today," Mike let out a self-deprecating laugh. "So I think it's time to return the bike. I'll tell Kyle when I leave."
"No you're not gonna tell Kyle shit," Eddie demanded. "Because you're not quitting. Come on Mike, I've seen you face the craziest monsters I could throw at a player in DnD and not blink an eye. You've got bravery, you've got guts. What is this?"
"This is different Eddie. I'm brave when I have my friends around," Mike sighed. "When I'm alone, I'm worthless."
And oh, Eddie Munson's heart--which was, admittedly, pretty big to begin with--grew three sizes at that.
Maybe you were right, that he was just being a grouch because Mike was a little snot-nosed punk. But Mike was one of his snot-nosed punks, and he wasn't gonna let one of his friends think that they were going through it alone.
Because he had thought he'd been alone so many times, and all he had to do was look past his own nose to see that there were plenty of people there to rally for him.
He took a breath and crouched down so he could look Mike in the eye.
"Hey kid, you're not alone here," he began gently. "I wouldn't have told you that you did a good job today if I didn't mean it. And it might seem like you're alone here because it's a new and scary experience. But you're not alone. You have me. And I'll be here to lead you through until you can face the scary world that is StarCourt on your own. You hear me?"
Mike's eyes darted back and forth between Eddie's before his face broke into a wide smile.
"Thanks Eddie," he cheered.
"Don't mention it."
"I'll do my best, I promise," Mike insisted. "I won't let you down, and...and..."
"I said don't mention it," Eddie stood straight and ruffled Mike's hair, then nodded towards the door. "You better go clock out and head home. I'm sure your mom has a turkey sandwich waiting for you at home."
Mike scurried out of the stockroom and Eddie turned back to his locker, and when he closed it, Kyle was suddenly there, grinning like the cheshire cat.
"Look at you, developing those leadership skills," he told Eddie proudly.
"I fucking hate you," Eddie snarked at him, then sighed. In that moment, he realized that this was a passing the torch sort of moment. Kyle had passed it to him when he gave Eddie a chance, and now Eddie was passing that torch to Mike by giving him the chance. He wouldn't fuck it up.
"Thanks Kyle."

November 28, 1986 Claire's - 12:10AM
You were dead by the time you and the closing team trudged out of StarCourt.
The mall itself looked like something out of a horror movie. The lights were off. It was practically abandoned and trash was everywhere. The mall muzak was shut off and there was the sound of a distant store radio that was still on somewhere, playing a haunting, off-tune saxophone.
But you survived. You and your team and countless other teams survived the epic StarCourt 24 Hour Blowout and you, thankfully, would be working the mid-shift tomorrow so you could sleep in.
You all exited the mall and into the employee lot, and you waved goodbye to your team as you approached the van that waited where Eddie had parked it almost a whole day prior.
"You better have gone home and actually gotten some rest," you announced as you threw open the passenger door to the familiar sight of Eddie and a bag of McDonalds, while Beth softly played on the stereo.
You pulled the van door shut behind you as Eddie sung along and then leaned across the console to drop a sleepy smooch of both greeting and gratitude on his lips.
"I did after I finished my double," Eddie said after a few soft kisses. "How are you doing?"
"I'm hoping that this fucking spectacle doesn't become a tradition," you announced and gestured towards the mall before you dug into the bag of food. "I don't think I can do another twenty-four-hour Black Friday again."
Eddie took in the sight of you, looking even more worse for wear than you had last Black Friday during a normal 8-hour shift.
"Yeah, well, you know what they say," he chuckled. "Gotta do something more than once if you wanna consider it a tradition."
"And is this our tradition now?" you asked.
"What? One of us has a rough Black Friday shift and the other feeds them."
"No," you snorted. "McDonalds and KISS when you pick me up from work?"
Eddie contemplated it for a moment, "you know what, it's not the worst tradition to have. What do you think?"
You sighed and sunk into the passenger's seat as you chomped away on hot, salty fries. You knew that you wanted to ask him about his day, and about the rest of the band and how their shifts went, but for now...
"I think it's perfect."

Juan Soto x Fem!Reader
Description: Everyone says distance makes the heart grow fonder. What if the distance is just a few feet from your ex?
MDNI
SMUT 18+
After the split between you and Juan, you made it a point to say yes to every invite or outing. Your friend was promoting a shitty club? You were going. Your cousins girlfriend was hosting a birthday brunch? You were going. Even if you didn’t know anyone attending the events, you were going out. Which is why you were currently at this club, your friend bringing you along with her boyfriend and his friend.
Of course your friend tried to act like it was a date to get you out there but you made it clear you were just out to have fun and he agreed he was also. He was sweet, buying the drinks and complimenting you here and there. To anyone else, they would’ve thought he was a catch. To be frank, he probably was, but he wasn’t Juan. As he leaned in to continue the small talk you couldn’t help but wish he was Juan instead.
Although the split was deemed mutual after a long discussion, deep down you didn’t want to break up. However you two were still cordial, well as cordial as exes can be. Occasionally he would react or reply to one of your instagram stories. You found yourself in a routine, you would reread old messages, go through pictures and even stalk his instagram to see if he followed a new woman. When people said distance makes the heart grow fonder you thought it only applied to long distance relationship’s. But, not waking up with Juan everyday, talking at all and even doing boring chores with him made you realize just how much you still wanted him.
Sudden chanting and cheering in an already loud club brought you out of your day dream. Looking around to see if someone bought an expensive bottle, you see him. There he is, Juan, with some other Yankee players not too far behind him. He towers over the crowd, looking bigger than the last time you saw him. There is brief eye contact, and he smiles until it quickly drops when he see’s the man leaning in next to you. You realize how it looks, he probably thinks you’ve already moved on, which couldn’t be more far from the truth.
You want to scream and tell him it isn’t what it seems but he’s already moving through the crowd. The DJ makes his announcement and points them to their section, which is ironically next to yours. You quickly down the last bit of your mixed drink, and because your company is a gentleman he notices. He quickly takes the cup from your hand and leans in impossibly closer telling you he’ll get you another. You simply nod, and it’s quite obvious to everyone else you’re no longer enjoying the night.
Your friend quickly picks up on your clues and she points at the bar. Looking in the direction she pointed at you realize Juan and your friend of the night are right next to each other. You want to explode, hoping Juan doesn’t cause a scene or say anything to the other man. He doesn’t even realize he’s next to your ex while he’s turning around smiling and winking at you. You weakly smile back and turn back around.
When he finally returns back with a vodka red bull you politely scoot over, keeping a distance. He’s caught off guard by the sudden coldness, but decides to not push it. The small talk is awkward at this point, so when your friends drink is done you tell her you’ll get her another one.
Standing up you adjust your mini dress and make your way to the bar. You quickly order her a drink and a shot for yourself. Of course he’d be here tonight, the only night where you were “out” with another guy. Downing the shot and sucking the lime you look back to Juan’s section which was filled with his teammates and their girlfriends. Juan still wasn’t at his section, but that didn’t surprise you. He would always go around and thank people or just network. The bartender finally handed your friends drink to you and you hand him a cash tip.
As you look around the crowd you spot him, and neither of you break eye contact. He mouths for you to wait, so you do. You stand at the bar while he maneuvers through the bodies. The distance of only a few feet makes you miss him even more, months of not seeing each other finally led you to this moment. When you’re finally face to face it’s evident he isn’t happy, the usual wide smile not on his face.
“You know if you had a boyfriend you could’ve just told me” Juan says as leans on the bar, looking straight at you. “Not my boyfriend, just happened to tag along” you try to say nonchalantly. In reality, the close proximity is making your heart beat fast. “He sure as hell seems to like you, and the dress I picked” he quickly spits back.
You didn’t even realize the dress you were wearing was one Juan hand picked and bought for you. In fact it was one of his favorites, and anytime you wore it he was drooling over you. His remark left you speechless, and then he’s saying another smart remake by saying “Look your boyfriend’s missing you” while motioning with his head in the direction of your section.
“He’s not my boyfriend, and he can like this dress all he wants. He knows he’s not the one taking it off” you reply sassily, completing turning to face him. Now Juan’s intrigued, stepping closer to you. You can really tell up close all those extra hours in the gym are paying off.
“Who is then?” He questions, and you can’t tell if he’s asking out of genuine curiosity or because he wants you. You look back at your section and see an obvious shift in the man’s demeanor, his back facing you and your friend giving you an awkward smile. Turning your head back to Juan you say “You know no one is”
“Well how would I know when you have Mr.doesn’t know what personal space is, glued next to you?” He says grabbing the drink out of your hand and placing it on the bar. You chuckle, it was true, he didn’t know what personal space was. His team mates begin to yell for him to come back and you simply just wave at them. “The boys saw you and all you did was wave? Come say hi” he says opening his palm for you to grab it. You do and he holds your hand, and he swears it’s just because you’re wearing heels and need support to walk in them. Secretly it was a force of habit, always wanting to touch you in some way.
The team welcomes you normally, and for a moment it feels as though everything is back to the way it used to be. Your snugged under Juan’s arm as the group makes jokes and laughs. Occasionally looking up at him, taking in the moment, wanting to live in it forever. With the drinks flowing Juan gets bolder, what started as an arm draped over you to now his large hand over your thigh.
His laugh filled the section as he clearly enjoyed himself. It reminded you of the days you two shared, and you weren’t sure if it was the previous drinks you had or your desperation but you whisper in his ear, lightly brushing his upper thigh with your palm. “I wanna go home Juan”
He nods, drinking the juice he used as chaser while ordering an uber. He doesn’t acknowledge that you said go home, like you used to say. You both say goodnight to the team and make your way outside to wait, the warm summer night hugs you as you wait. You lean the back of your head on Juan’s chest while his large hands rest on your stomach. To those passing by it looks like a regular couple. He leans his head and says “This dress is driving me crazy” while one hand goes down to play with the hem of the short dress
A low whine escapes from your chest as you push yourself more on Juan. “Behave, the uber’s almost here” He says, and you can feel exactly why he said behave. The erection in his jeans is prominent and poking your back, and he keeps you there to block the obvious tent.
Within a few minutes the car pulls up, and Juan opens the door for you, standing behind you as you bend into the vehicle. The drive was quiet, you were enjoying being in Juan’s embrace as he rubbed circles onto your knee. Your head on his chest as you closed your eyes. His cologne completely engulfing you, and it’s clear he still wears the one you bought him for your first christmas together.
Before you know it you’ve arrived to Juan’s building, the fancy modern exterior seemingly the same except for the new chandelier. You reminisce as you walk in the lobby, greeted by the same staff that used to greet you nightly. Everything seemed so normal, like it used to be.
Juan leads you into the elevator with a large hand on your lower back, and presses his floors number. The silence between you isn’t awkward, even though it should be. It feels as though months of not speaking hasn’t gone by.
The silver doors open and you remember exactly how to go to his apartment. The grey carpet is even the same, “It might be a little messy I’m sorry” he breaks the silence. You laugh “Have no one to clean up after you now huh?” He shakes his head as he unlocks and opens the door.
If he did he would’ve said so, and that gives you a good sign that he’s not seeing anyone either. His apartment looks stuck in time, the same way you left it that day. The decor pieces you picked out still hanging around the apartment, there were hints of you still lingering here.
“Not as messy as I assumed” you joke, taking a seat at the marble island. “Guess I’ve gotten better at cleaning up then” he replies leaning on the opposite side of you. And silence fills the huge room, he’s looking at you, and he puts on his face he makes when he’s thinking intently.
You decide to break the silence, “I’ve missed you, you know” He keeps eye contact, “Me too amor”. You lean on your palm, “Show me how much you missed me then” you tease. He walks around the island and turns your chair. Grabbing your hand he places it over his erection,”That shows you how much?”
You look up, looking him in the eyes then his lips. If there was anytime to be bold it was now, you extend your hand to the back of his neck and bring him to your face and close the gap. The kiss heats up quickly, letting his tongue explore your mouth almost immediately .
You taste the alcohol on his tongue, mixed with the strong cologne it leaves you dizzy and hungry for more. Your hands trail down his prominent chest, down to the erection that seemed to get harder from when you were at the club.
He groans when you finally place your palm over and begin to rub it slowly. You go to unbutton the jeans, not breaking the kiss. You pop the button out of the hole agonizingly slow, and begin to play with the zipper until you finally pull it all the way down. Grabbing the jeans you start to try to push them down.
His hand grabs your wrists, “Not fucking you here corazón”. You protest “Need it now, I don’t care if it’s here” fingers locked on the belt loops of his jeans. He’s stern though, refusing to fuck you in the kitchen. He picks you up, large hands grabbing your ass as he takes you to the familiar bedroom.
Hands perched on his chest you begin to kiss up and down his neck while he walks you over the bed. Pulling down the collar of his shirt you begin to suck a hickey on his collar bone. He was very strict on no marks on his neck or other places someone would see.
Your mini dress at this point is rolled up by your hips from the position Juan has you carried in. Once you’re content with the color of the hickey, you leave wet kisses all up and down his throat. His head is thrown back as he gives you more access. He’s standing at the edge of his bed at this point but refuses to put you down.
You make your way back up to his mouth and that’s what causes him to move you up and down. He pushes your clothed pussy over his erection. You lock your ankles that are straddling him, and begin grinding on him. You feel like a virgin getting turned on by the grinding alone.
He finally places you on the bed, “Turn around” he demands. You sit facing away from him, you feel his cold hands unzip the dress and pull it over you. You’re exposed, left in nothing but a pair of panties. You look back over your shoulder and see him just staring at you in awe.
His hand finds itself on your neck, pushing your head back so it’s on his chest. He leans down and kisses you while the other hand plays with your nipple. He kisses your shoulders and uses both hands to squeeze and play with your boobs and nipples, occasionally pulling and twisting them.
Your panties are bound to have a wet spot as you roll your hips on nothing as he continues to play with you. You get on your knees and turn around. “You have too much on” You say gesturing to his clothes. You grab his shirt and lift it over, getting a close up to his chest and stomach.
He’s always been big but he’s clearly been lifting heavier and it has done wonders. Your fingers trace his sculpted chest and stomach. You finally go back to his unbuttoned jeans and drag them down to his ankles. In his grey boxers you see the prominent outline of his boner.
“Can I?” you ask sweetly, looking up at him just like he asked you the first time you two got intimate. “It’s all yours amor” he replies. With that you kiss the outline, and delicately peel down the boxers. When his erection is finally released it springs up, slightly hitting his stomach.
It’s just how you remembered it, big girth with a vein on the right side. You slightly cup his shaft and slide off the bed to get on your knees. Once situated under him you kiss the tip. Kitten licking where all the precum is oozing out. Looking up you lick a bold stripe on the vein. You hear him inhale sharply and you can’t help but smile.
You grab his dick and lightly pull down spitting on the top part of the shaft. Spreading the spit with your hand you slowly begin to jerk him off. “Fuck, go a little faster baby” he says looking down at you.
Slightly speed up you finally wrap your mouth around the tip, continuing to jerk the rest of while swirling your tongue on his slit. He lightly thrusts forward, and you open your mouth wider to try to take more. Bobbing your head, you’re certain there’s spit coming out of the corners of your mouth. But you’re too far in to care, you’re just focused on making him cum.
His hand rests on the back of your head as he tries to not thrust in your mouth. “Shit feels so good” he groans with eyes closed and mouth slightly ajar. And when your hands cup his balls as you bob up and down he’s pulling you off.
A string of saliva attaching your lip to his dick, he grabs the base and jerks is lightly. “Haven’t done this in a while, not gonna last baby. Get on the bed” and he doesn’t need to tell you twice.
You lay on your back as his dick rests on your stomach while he sucks and toys with your nipples again. His thumb circling over your wet patch and you can’t help but jerk your hips up trying to get more.
He kisses his way down between the valley of your boobs until he reaches right above where your panties lay. He carefully peels down your underwear, seeing just how truly wet you are. “She’s missed me huh” he jokes as he spreads your folds with his thick fingers. He kisses each side of your thighs as he spreads them back, “Hold them” he says.
Your polished nails grip the back of your thighs as you see him fully stand. You see him looking around his room, and your heart sinks, is he looking for condoms? Has he slept with other people.
“I uh don’t have condoms, haven’t done this since you” he confesses, and you confess you’ve also been celibate since the breakup. In the beginning of your relationship you’d use condoms but after his first time hitting raw Juan refused to buy condoms unless you truly wanted it, but you didn’t either.
You grab his shaft and place it at your entrance, “Please, need it bad Juan” and he can’t deny that he doesn’t want to fuck you like you were his. He slowly pushes the head in, constantly looking at your face to see if it was too much.
“Oh fuck” He groans as he places his palms on the back of your thighs, folding you in half. He slowly pushes himself deeper, the wetness and tightness he’s been deprived of causing a tight coil in his lower abdomen. “G-go all the way in, I can take it” you moan out, holding your knees to your chest.
When he finally bottoms out you feel so full, as if he’s everywhere at the same time. No thoughts pass through your mind, just pleasure. You let go of one of your knees and place it on his hip, pushing him out, hinting him to move. “Fuck I missed this, only pussy I want” He moans out as he slowly pulls back and pushes back in.
Clenching at his words you moan out when he pressed his hand on your stomach, and he unintentionally discovers he can feel himself move. “Feel that princesa? I’m right here baby, give me your hand” he groans, eyes focused on your stomach.
When you place your hand right under your navel you feel the movement as he fucks you. “H-harder, please Juan I need it” you moan out, eyes watering as the sting and deepness become almost unbearable.
Between the hard and fast thrusts and hearing the squelching sounds you started seeing stars. “Baby, oh fuck, turn around” He pants pulling out and tapping on your sore and wet pussy.
Weakly you turn over and get on all fours. You look back and see him stroking himself. Moving back and wiggling your hips he finally pushes back in. It felt as if he grew in size, touching a part of you he wasn’t before.
“Don’t run amor, stay right there” he said pulling out and then slamming right back in. Your face squished on his linen bed sheets, you began to grip them as you tried to not move away. “Please don’t stop” you cry out pushing yourself back to meet his strokes. “Tell me this pussys mine, fuck need to know it’s mine”
He’s rambling, and you can tell his strokes becoming more uncoordinated. Continuing to put a show on for him you moan out, “All yours, I’m all yours, only yo- oh fuck.” He slaps your ass, quickly massaging it and then slapping the other cheek. He grabs you by your face to bring you up, and holds your stomach to keep you up right in-front of his chest. The new angle has you shaking. You bring your hand down to your clit and rub tight circles.
He quickly brings you back down to all fours and just stands with his dick all the way inside you. And you feel the coil within you snap and he pulls out, laying his dick on the curve of your ass. Cum leaking out of the tip, he’s breathing heavily. The cum dripping down your leg and onto the sheets. Your legs still shake from the intense orgasm.
You roll over and lay on your back looking up at him. He’s got his hands on his hips trying to catch his breathe. “You know our sex is great, but I really do miss you. And I want to give us another shot” he says.
You smile and reach your hand out and he grabs it and places a light kiss on it. “Pussy’s that good it’s got you running back?” you joke and he laughs. “Don’t ruin the moment” He grabs your ankle and drags you to the edge of the bed. “You know I’m going to say yes”
Pulling him down you give him a loving kiss. Months of fantasizing and it finally played out. All it took was being a few feet away and now you’re back at home with the boy you loved the most.

I got a little carried away 😀 BUT he’s so sexy so I really couldn’t help myself.

ᰔᩚ Make You Proud ᰔᩚ
Plot: Gianna (OC) surprises her man in California, where he wins his first ever singles championship.
Warning: Hefty flirting, mature language, & smut!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"You're all set," the tall man at TSA exclaims, sliding over a tiny bin with my phone and Apple watch.
"Thank you!" I respond cheerfully, re-pack my things and proceed to walk over to my gate.
I find a corner seat and place my luggage down, get comfy against the wall, and pull out my phone.
After about 10-15 minutes of scrolling on Instagram and Tiktok, I get a message that immediately makes me smile.
Joshua 🧸🩵: Safe travels my love. Text me when you land okay? I love you.
My Lady ❤️: I will baby. I love you more. 🤍
For context, WWE is headed to California for Monday Night Raw.
And while my boyfriend thinks that I'm spending our time apart visiting my parents back home in New York, I'm actually headed to surprise him for the show.
There's been lots of buzz on social media about him finally getting another title opportunity tonight and I wanna be there for, what I believe will be, his big win.
Actually, it's not even just for his big win, it's more so just the thought of us being together.
While I adore and will forever be committed to Joshua, our relationship is by no means perfect.
He's been in the business for about 14 years now, and we've been together for about 3 of them.
Whether it's for a PLE or just weekly live tapings, he's on the road for 5 sometimes 6 days out of the week.
Wrestling is his passion and brings out the best in him so, while I miss him a lot — and I mean a lot — of the time, I would and could never bring myself to ask him to put it aside for us.
I'm snapped out of my thoughts when an announcement echoes through the airport speakers.
"Flight #389 to Ontario, California is now boarding."
I take a deep breath, gather all my things, and board.
See you soon my love. <3

** Josh's POV **
As I'm in the hallway doing a mini warmup for my match, a familiar face walks up with a tiny smirk on his face.
I turn to him and smile. "What's up, uce?"
One of my closest friends in the business, Sami Zayn, nods. "Big night for you, dawg."
"Yeet," I reply, nodding.
Big night is an understatement.
I want my own title more than anything.
And I'm gonna get it.
"Ya know," he begins, breaking the comfortable silence. "That Intercontinental Championship meant the world to me."
I nod understandably.
"And tonight," he continues, tapping me on the chest. "You make that Intercontinental Championship yours!"
I continue nodding, except this time with a smile.
"You hear me?!" he asks, holding out his hand for our handshake.
"Thank you uce," I reply, slapping our hands together. "Thank you, my dawg. Thank you, man. Love you!"
"You've got this! Go get it!" he continues, hyping me up.
"Yeet!" I call out as he walks out of frame, and continue my warmup.
Moments later, the camera man signals that our segment is done.
"Aaaand cut!" he calls, turning off the red light on his camera. "Awesome job guys!"
Shortly after, Rami's music hits.
"I'll see you later man," he exclaims, pulling me into a hug. "Good luck tonight."
"Thank you uce," I reply, patting his back and letting him go. "Go get em!"
As he walks into gorilla and out of sight, I head to my dressing room to change.
By the time I'm dressed and ready to go, it's about ten minutes until the main event - me and Bron Breakker for the IC title.
I take a deep breath and decide to shoot my lady a last minute text before heading out.
—————————————————————————————————
** Gianna's POV **
Josh's close friend Rami just finished his segment with a man named Gunther, and the crowd is still buzzing.
I feel my phone vibrate in my purse and automatically take it out, smiling when I see a text from my man.
Joshua 🧸🩵: About to go out there. Gonna do this shit and make you proud baby. 🩵
My Lady ❤️: You always do, my love. I'll be watching. 🫶🏽
Little does he know, I'll have the perfect view.
I smile and place my phone back in my purse before taking a deep breath.
About a minute or two later, Josh's entrance music hits and the crowd goes insane.
As he enters from the crowd, I automatically take notice to his gear.
It's my favorite one that he wears: baby blue and white colored with "YEET" and palm trees embroidered in bright pink, white air forces, and pink glasses to match.
I smile as he enters the ring, dancing to his theme, while the crowd never stops hyping him up.
As the music switches and his opponent enters, I'm unable to keep my eyes off of my man.
The way he paces back and forth, licking his lips, and delivering mean mugs.
Fuck, I'm so lucky.
As the match rolls on, Josh eventually spears Bron through the barricade.
My heart drops as he lays there, visibly exhausted but still pushing.
I don't know how he does it. He's so incredible.
As he looks up at the crowd, our eyes meet and the world stops.
His jaw practically drops at the sight of me and a gorgeous smile appears on his face.
I smile back and blow a kiss his way.
After taking a second to process what's happening, he puckers his lips and sends one back, before focusing back on the match.
As he drags Bron back into the ring and follows up with another spear, the crowd gets somehow louder.
He climbs up onto the top rope and takes a deep breath before delivering his finisher: the Uso splash.
My heart stops and I cover my mouth while the crowd counts along with the referee.
Once the count hits three, he lays back and the crowd goes from loud to deafening.
I jump up and cheer, tears streaming down my face.
He did it! He fucking did it! My boy is a champ!
"HERE IS YOUR WINNER!" Samantha Irvin announces from ringside, tons of emotion in her voice. "AAAAND NEEEEEWWWW! INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION! MAAAAIIIIN EVENT JEY UUUUSSOOOOOO!"
I cheer even louder, clapping my hands, still sobbing.
He lays there with the belt for a while before being helped up by the referee and having his arm lifted above his head while holding the championship in his other.
As he exits the ring, he runs over to me and grabs my face, pulling me into a kiss.
I kiss back, smiling against his lips, before pulling away and wrapping my arms around him.
He hugs me back, panting into my neck and giving me kisses there too.
"I'm so happy you're here," he says just below my ear so that I can hear him above all the cheering. "I love you."
"I love you," I reply, more happy tears strolling down my face.
Smiling, he pulls away and grabs my face for another quick kiss before heading up the stairs in the crowd to celebrate with fans.
Nothing could top this feeling.
I'm so beyond proud of my baby! <3
—————————————————————————————————
** Josh's POV **
As I step into the gorilla, an eruption of claps and cheers for me by Paul and other staff begins.
I smile breathlessly and immediately hug him.
"How are you feeling?" he asks, patting my back.
"On top of the world," I reply, still trying to catch my breath.
Everyone laughs, including me, as he pulls me into another hug.
We pull away and take a classic pointing picture in front of the WWE logo.
On my way back to my locker room, I run into even more co-workers and get lots of congratulations.
But when I open the door, I'm brought with my favorite sight of the night: my girl.
Without a word, she runs into my arms and we share the tightest hug in the world.
"I'm so proud of you," she coos into my neck, tons of emotion in her voice.
I smile and kiss her cheek. "Thank you, baby."
She pulls away and cups my face, tears streaming down hers. "You're a champion. You're my champion."
"Always and forever ma," I reply and pull her in by her waist, pressing our lips together.
She automatically kisses back and wraps her arms around my neck.
Deepening the kiss, I slide my tongue across her bottom lip, earning a tiny moan from her.
About a minute more of this goes by and we pull away, pressing our foreheads together.
"What do you say we get out of here and go celebrate properly after my shower?" I ask, caressing her ass.
She nods, biting her bottom lip. "Sounds perfect."
I smirk and kiss her temple. "Stay here and look pretty. I'll be back."
She giggles and we share another quick kiss before I leave her with my title and head to the bathroom with fresh clothes.
The hot water feels unreal on my body, especially after damn near killing myself during the match.
Once I finish, I towel dry myself and change into a white Nike sweatsuit, my air forces, and my silver chain.
I clean up after myself and head back into my dressing room, where my girl is sat with the title against her waist and scrolling on her phone.
"Shiii you look better with that thing then I do," I exclaim, making her look up.
She chuckles, stands up, and puts it around my waist. "There's no better looking champ than you, baby."
I smirk as she leans in and presses our lips together once more. "Mmm thank you, my love."
Hand in hand, we gather my stuff and exit the arena, earning a couple more congratulations from people as we leave.
—————————————————————————————————
** Gianna's POV **
Tonight has been magical.
After Josh and I left the arena, we went and grabbed dinner at Waffle House and drove back to my hotel room.
Thankfully, he has another live event here tomorrow so we didn't have to end our night in an airport.
Right now, he's currently downstairs grabbing a spare key for the room, and I'm working on making this night end perfectly.
I quickly run into the bathroom and strip out of my outfit from tonight, then change into his favorite lingerie set of mine: black, lace, and see thru.
I doll myself up and fix my hair, before throwing on my silk robe and heading back into the room.
A few moments later, I hear footsteps and my man steps back into the room.
"I got the key," Josh exclaims, holding it up and shutting the door behind him.
I nod and pat the empty spot on his bed next to me. "Come, love."
He raises an eyebrow suspiciously but walks over anyway, getting into bed next to me.
"Whatchu doin girl?" he asks, throwing an arm around me and rubbing my thigh with his free hand.
I turn to face him and climb onto his lap, straddling him. "Just helping you relax."
"Oooo," he coos, smirking and sliding his hands onto my waist.
I giggle and lean in, pressing our lips together.
He automatically kisses back, his hands trailing down to my ass and squeezing it through the silky fabric.
** smut warning! **
I quietly moan at the feeling and begin to grind on him, swaying my hips up and down his crotch.
He moans in the kiss and we slowly pull away, me tugging at his bottom lip.
I climb off of him and stand between his legs, untying the robe and peeling it off my skin.
He watches my every move and practically drools at the sight of my body, reaching out to caress every inch that's revealed.
I continue the show by unhooking my bra and letting it fall to the floor, as well as slowly sliding down my panties and stepping out of them.
"Fuck," he mutters under his breath, caressing and toying with one of my nipples.
"I believe you're a little overdressed sir," I exclaim, taking a few steps closer and pressing my now naked body against his.
He smirks as I pull his hoodie over his head.
"Look at this body," I coo, running my hands up his abs, to his chest, and onto his shoulders. "The body of a champion. Of my champion."
I lean in and run my tongue up his collarbone and neck, sucking and kissing his gorgeously tanned skin on the way.
He lets out a sexy moan, holding me close.
After a few moments of this, I give him one last kiss on the corner of his mouth and pull away to remove the clothes from his bottom half as well.
His dick immediately springs out when I remove his boxers, to which I respond with stroking and showering light kisses onto his tip.
"Shit," he whispers, cupping my face with one hand.
"That feels good, hm?" I ask, continuing my kisses down his length.
"Mmm fuck," he utters between moans. "So fuckin good. I need to be inside you, baby."
I smirk, lightly push him back against the headboard, and straddle him once more.
Except this time, I line his dick up with my pussy and lower myself onto it.
I gasp at the feeling of his full length practically in my stomach and, after a few seconds, start moving.
"Oh yes," I moan, holding onto his thighs for balance with my head thrown back as he takes one of my breasts into his mouth.
Soon enough, he starts moving as well, his thrusts pulsating into my body.
The sound of our skin slapping mixed with combined moans echoes throughout the room.
"Fuck baby you're so tight," he groans in my ear, a firm grasp on my ass cheeks. "This my shit?"
"U-uh huh!" I reply, unable to speak a word.
He slaps my ass. Hard.
I whine at the feeling.
"Don't make me ask again ma," he demands, his voice low and sexy. "Use your words."
"Y-yes da-addy," I reply between moans. "T-th-this pussy is all yours."
He frees one of his hands and brings it to the cheeks on my face, squeezes them, pulls my face in, and crashes our lips together.
"Mmm!" I moan against his lips, still on cloud nine from the way he's fucking me.
A few moments go by until I feel absolutely weak.
"J-Joshua! D-daddy!" I call out.
"Yes baby?" he replies, applying kisses below my ear.
I pant breathlessly, attempting to speak but the words just won't come.
"Talk to daddy my love," he coos, taking a strand of hair away from my eyes and helping me relax. "Tell me what you need."
"I-I'm gon-I'm gonna cum," I practically scream out, holding onto his neck for dear life.
"Mmm good girl," he praises as I let loose, slowing down his thrusts as his climax fills me up as well.
** smut over! **
"Fuck," I say just above a whisper, rolling off of him and laying flat on my back on the bedsheets.
He chuckles breathlessly, turning over and wrapping a protective arm around my waist. "You feel good, baby?"
I nod, my eyes closed and my mouth hanging open.
He smiles and kisses my bottom lip. "I'll get a bath started for us, yeah?"
I nod again, laying my head down on the plush pillow.
I feel him get up and open my eyes just the tiniest bit to watch his fat ass walk off.
Fuck, he's so fine.
—————————————————————————————————
** Josh's POV **
Gi and I just finished up our bath.
It felt like heaven, despite me putting my body on the line twice in one night.
I'm now carrying her to bed.
Between me practically fucking her to sleep and jet lag, she's exhausted.
I lay her down on the plush sheets and tuck her in so she's comfortable.
"Mmm thank you baby," she exclaims quietly, half asleep with her eyes closed.
I chuckle and stroke her cheek with my knuckle. "Anytime my love."
I hop into bed with her and shut the bedside lamp, then wrap her into my arms.
She kisses my chest and leans into the crook of my neck.
It's not long before I hear light snores pouring out of her.
"Goodnight my baby," I coo, before kissing her temple and drifting off to sleep myself.

❄️MIDNIGHT'S DCA DECEMBER❄️
Hello! I've decided to have a little bit of fun this December and will be opening up requests for the month! Please see below for more details (With subheadings!):
Requests Overall
I will have 31 slots available for requests, first come, first serve. Each piece will range from 1000-2000 words in length and may (MAY) include a little doodle made by me.
Requests can be anything! They just have to be winter/holdiay themed (do NOT have to be releated to Christmas) and DCA-related
Winter/holiday themed means movies/stories too! Ex: i am a BIG fan of The Nutcracker (went insane when I saw @/robinette-green's au for the Barbie version lmao)
As most know I am an X reader writer, but as long as my general request rules are followed, I don't mind writing for ocs, canon, etc.
For those who don't know my rules, no nsfw (suggestive is FINE), and if you want something specific, be specific. Besides that, it's fair game, request what you want
Potential Issues & Schedule
If there is overlap between request ideas, they will be combined in some manner of speaking (if possible). If needed, I will reach out to you about adjusting ideas or the likes, though I don't forsee this happening. This would occur if for example, someone wants gift shopping with Sun with their oc, and someone else wants the same thing with a reader-insert. Whoever requested second would be who I reach out to.
I will be posting these throughout December, ending on the 31st
In order to have enough time to write, I will be starting these as soon as I get the first request. To speed things up a little, requests will be open from 11/29 to 12/13 OR until I receive 31 unique requests. So that's maximum two weeks to think of an idea and share it with me.
If I don't get enough overall or get anything prior to Dec. 1 I'll probably come up with some ideas of my own, but only if that happens! Additionally, if I don't get enough, I may open it up for people to request multiple times, again only if I don't get enough or run out of ideas (genuinely don't know how many I should expect so just trying to cover my bases lol)
To keep things organized, please request in the comments of this post. This also helps to potentially keep from overlap in requests, as you'll be able to see what else has already been requested. If you request in my ask box or such it'll make things a bit more difficult, so please avoid that.
HOWEVER, there is one exception to the above, which is if you wish to request anonymously, which is completely fine to do! But please only request in my ask box if you want to be anonymous. If overlap happens in that case, then y'all may just get two responses with similar vibes on the same day (essentially a bonus lol)
Confused Spirit
For those who may be concerned (as I was before making this post lmao) Confused Spirit's schedule will not be affected by this! Now that it's back I'd like it to stay back lol. We may stick to an every two weeks schedule for a bit, or may go back to weekly, it will depend on life stuff, not on other writing things. I promise ^_^
Having little things like these also help prevent writers block, and thus stay more consistent with updates
Sharing & More
Please feel free to share this post around, and request if you want to! Once I hit 31 unique ones I'll reblog this post with the announcement that requests are closed, so make sure to double check they aren't closed already prior to requesting!
I'll also post updates every couple of days regarding the status of total requests as well ^_^
Unrelated but similar, @/quilteddreams is working on a DCA Advent Calendar for December that's also really cool! (I'm helping out with beta reading :D) Highly reccommend you check it out once it starts posting!
Everything related to this will be under the tag #MM dca December, just in case there's another similar tag out there and I'm not just taking it for myself
Alright, that's all for now, excited to see what you guys ask for!
Adding the tag list to this since y'all enjoy my writing lol:
