Disclaimer: I haven't actually read that particular arc yet - I'll get around to it, I swear! But I do know roughly what happens.

With the whole spleentuation Tim turns the Red Robin costume into what basically amounts to a Hazmat suit. He doesn't actually change much - he goes for full face coverage and introduces some airtight seals. It makes upkeep slightly more laborious and makes him a lot scarier than he wants to be but it's this or risking getting benched for an infection for an unreasonably long time. Bruce returns and doesn't even question the look until he finds older Red Robin costume without the Hazmat qualities and in an attempt of casual bonding asks Tim why he changed it. You can imagine how the rest goes.

Second scenario:

Bruce vanishes before the pandemic, when he returns the family is very careful with like, disinfecting everything and they always have gloves and masks on their person. He writes it off as a side-effect on the pandemic until he realises how much more careful everyone is around Tim

Third scenario:

Tim uses his general lack of an immune system as a way to get out of things he doesn't want to do where there'll be a crowd. Mostly Gala's. Like:

Tim: I'm worried I'll get sick when I go to the opening of the Lexcorps factory we need to make An Appearance at.

Bruce: You went to ComicCon last week, you'll be fine.

Tim: 🥺

And like, what's Bruce going to do? Tim is right he SHOULD be a lot more careful. He SHOULDN'T go to the gala. So he folds like wet paper without fail every time. Tim cuts his public appearances down to an absolute minimum. Jason is seen more often and he's supposed to be dead.

Tims coup de resistance (is that the saying) is getting to attend a business meeting virtually because one of the three (3) people there was travelling two weeks ago

warnings: non-graphic, general descriptions of sickness (just cold/fever, not covid)

a/n: this month was already rough on my allergies but i came down with quite possibly the worst cold I’ve ever had. (It’s literally so bad i had to use PTO instead of WFH days? I am literally dying.) I wrote this when I was feverish and couldn’t sleep to make myself feel better. I hope someone out there likes it 😭

Frank

I think Frank would worry a lot when his partner was sick.

He’s lost so many people and he doesn’t have a huge circle so i think it takes him by surprise a little.

But he’d do his best to hide his worries by going about his day and comforting you.

He’d get fresh produce from the store and make you delicious soup, pick up tissues and medicine for you, threaten anyone who tried to make you go into work

“Your boss still pullin’ that shit? Gimme the phone, let me talk to ‘em”

He loves being your big spoon anyways but he would not let you go if you looked or sounded ill. You’d be nestled carefully against his chest while he stroked your back until you fell asleep.

He’d keep you entertained by reading to you or watching whatever TV your fever-ridden mind is craving.

Above all, he wouldn’t leave your side until you were feeling better.

The smile on his face the next time you take him out would be brilliant. He’s just so happy that you’re here with him and feeling better.

Matt

Personally, i hate the idea of getting people sick more than actually being sick sometimes but i think this would especially be the case with Matt

His senses are so delicate, I wouldn’t want to fuck with him by being gross and loud or by getting him sick.

But there is no way this man isn’t the biggest self-sacrificing-mother-hen when someone he loves is sick.

He’d sense your illness before you would, and encourage you to take it easy and sleep a bit extra that week (above all, he’s a hypocrite.)

Of course, he’s a bit embarrassed of everything he can do, or maybe you don’t know the extent of what he is capable of, so he plays it off as “you’ve been working so hard lately, sweetheart, you need to take it easy.”

A day or two before the bug hits you like a truck, he’d come over with a bag from the pharmacy that’s just chock-full of DayQuil and Tea and cough drops and like a single bandaid

He poorly plays it off as “uh, your first aid kit was low, remember?”

Once you’re well and truly sick, he’d be stubborn as a mule if you tried to keep him away. You lock him out of your apartment? You wake up from a nap wrapped in a Devil-shaped blanket to find that someone picked your window lock.

At that point, you just cave and let him stay because you are so cold and he’s so so warm.

Mikey

Not afraid of using his puppy dog eyes to get you to stay home or in bed.

Also not afraid of crying wolf and pretending that he’s not feeling well to make you take a break

“Sorry, pet, my head is hammerin’. Think we could lay down fer a bit?”

Combined WITH the puppy eyes? You don’t stand a chance.

Though you usually take care of the housework while he’s dealing with his family’s business, he wouldn’t let you lift a finger until your temperature was normal and your voice came back.

It’s as if you’re the only person that exists to him, he’s running around trying to anticipate your every need.

It’s been a while since he’s dealt with the real world so he might ask Birdy for advice on how to care for a sick person.

Lots of home remedies (idk just vibes.)

He would have you lean against him in a scalding shower to clear your sinuses or draw you a nice bath.

Keep cool water and a cloth by the bed to bring your fever down.

Hand you cup after cup of tea until you have to threaten to tie him to the bed.

“Just lay with me, please”

“Of course, pet. Anything fer ya.”

a lot of people watched the bear and felt that it was lacking especially in terms of plot and I can understand that but I think s3 wasn’t that bad really. I think a lot of people had different expectations of what would happen this season, especially considering how much more fame that show has received. But imo the bear was never really the type of show that’s packing as much plot as they can into a season. I remember watching the s1 finale and feeling a bit let down (and I watched the show when it premiered so I had to live on a prayer that it’d get renewed and then had to wait the entire year before s2 lol). however, this is a show that I think you need to rewatch the season more than once. maybe im just a little slow lol but I’m always able to learn a bit more after a rewatch or two….or three.

I am not a fan of clairecarmy at all and my main goal for this season was to not have them shoved down my throat (especially in present time) so to me a win is a win fr lmao

back to rewatches. on the first watch, in ep1 we saw the scene where carmy makes the meal that syd told Marcus was the best thing she’s ever eaten. this is something I saw people mention but what is also important is that carmy had been experimenting with that recipe for a while. he never felt that he got it right. on my rewatch, I noticed that he made two (or three. I can’t recall off the top of my head) dishes the same way with the fennel thingie. but he felt the need to change it for one plate. he told the waiter that one of the dishes went to a table with a fennel allergy so he subbed blood orange. that was syd’s dish, her favorite dish that carmy made. now, does syd have a fennel allergy? most likely not since they were experimenting with fennel for a recipe in s2.

to me, this is just a testament to how well syd and carmy understand each other even when they didn't know each other personally. carmy is a terrible communicator (scientifically proven atp) but syd isn't always the greatest communicator either, at times shes avoidant (the best word that comes to mind). at the end of the day, they both respect each other and hold each other to certain standards that only they know even if they've yet to explore that themselves

in terms of plot between sydcarmy, there are things that I liked. for example, to me s3’s:

"I left you alone"

"so, don't let it happen again"

"it's never going to happen again"

and s2’s:

"you could do this without me"

"I couldn't do this without you. I wouldn't even want to do it without you"

are similar. they are both instances where carmy makes a profession to syd because he feels he has something to prove to her. platonic sydcarmy is nonexistent imo. syd is family (ex: syd saying she doesn’t know a lawyer. nat and carm saying “Pete”). who did carmy invite to go to the ever funeral despite having no place inviting anyone 😭 syd. he knew she hadn’t eaten there and this would be her last chance. richie being there? made sense. but he could’ve invited fak or anyone from the restaurant. but he invited syd.

some people said they saw something between luca and syd and tbh that was just will poulter and Ayo Edebiri being good actors lol tbh Ayo has chemistry with everyone it seems

tl;dr

the bear s3 was good and is overly judged. there definitely could’ve been improvements but it was good nonetheless. sydcarmy are forever 🤭

i imagine you're probably a hard worker and a borderline workaholic like woozi

so it's no surprise you've overworked yourself and wake up the next day feeling so under the weather

for once, jihoon got up before you, which was his first red flag

he sat up in bed and saw you shivering in your sleep

but he brushed it off, thinking you must've just been cold

he kissed your nose before leaving to go to work, not forgetting to fix your blankets in case it really was too cold

the next red flag was when it was around lunch time and he still didn't receive a text from you

"that's weird," he says as he snacks on something in his studio.

he thinks "well, it's not like they always have to text first. this is a two-sided relationship, so i'll just text to check in."

jihoon: hey y/n, i hope you're doing well

you respond rather quickly

you: omg i totally forgot to text, i woke up late and had to rush to work, so i barely had time

jihoon: it's fine, really

jihoon: are you feeling alright?

you: yeah! i'm feeling great, what about you?

he shrugged off his concern immediately, trusting you completely

little did he know, you were at work, but you were feeling terrible

you had the chills, your head was killing you, you could barely breathe, and you felt like time was passing way too slowly

but you thought that you wouldn't want him to worry about you

he's the type to helicopter over you, texting and checking in every chance he gets

and even worse, he might ask to get off work early so he can care for you

which you don't want because you know how much jihoon loves his work

the next red flag came when jihoon knew you'd get off work

you always got off work before him because he loves working at nighttime

and to make up for him always working, he has you video call him and you guys just chill on call until he gets off of work and meets with you in person

he calls you and you pick up, but you refuse to show your face in the camera

that wasn't the red flag though

because he thought, "hmm, maybe they don't want to show their face today, and that's okay"

but when he goes "hey, how was work?"

and you respond nasally with "it was pretty good, thanks for asking"

his eyebrows furrow

"you sound different"

"oh, really? it's probably my allergies"

"are you taking medicine for it?"

"yeah, don't worry about it, ji."

only he IS going to worry about it

jihoon is not dumb

he still responds with "okay, hope you feel better"

it was fine until he was almost done with work, and he was going to check in with you again thru the call, but you were sound asleep

"y/n, are you sleeping? did you even eat first?"

but there was no response

everything about you today was really odd to him and he knew it couldn't just be allergies

he tried to be rational, thinking "i have slept 20 hours in a day before, so it's fine if they sleep a lot"

but he can't help but feel a little worried for you

he does rush to your home a bit quicker than usual

he goes straight to where you were sleeping, which was on the couch

this was when all the alarms went off in his head

and the way his eyebrows furrow and a frown forms on his face when he sees you shivering, breathing unevenly, and sniffling in your sleep

"i knew it," he laughs to himself

he goes and grabs a thermometer and takes your temperature, shaking his head when he sees the fever

he shakes you gently

"oh, hey, jihoon. welcome home-"

"let's get you some food first, and then i'll warm up a bath for you, yeah?"

"what? i'm feeling fine-"

"you're not fine," he shows you the thermometer. "if you're sick, why didn't you tell me? i could've come home early-"

"that's the point. i didn't want to inconvenience you or make you worry..."

"you're not inconveniencing me. i'm just taking care of you the way you would take care of me. don't ever think otherwise."

and that's when you start crying, like a sick baby who wants comfort

he pulls you into a hug, not knowing how else to soothe you

he whispers sweet nothings into your ear like "y/n, you're okay," "please don't cry, baby," and "i'm here now, let me help"

you melt into him

he quietly cares for you

he cooks you a simple dinner and even washes the dishes afterward while you sit in a warm bubble bath he prepared for you

he then waits for you to get dressed and do the rest of your night routine, then guides you to bed, where he tucks you in

he even gets multiple different blankets in case you get the chills again

he stays up all night, going between working on his laptop, rubbing your back, replacing the cold, wet rag on your forehead, and helping you whenever you need to get up in the middle of the night for more medicine or to vomit

he probably won't kiss you or get too close while you're sick, but he'd still care for you in any way he can

overall, jihoon really cares about you. he loves his work almost as much as you, but don't feel like you're inconveniencing him. he understands this comes with being in a relationship with someone you love.

please trust him next time. he wants you to rely on him sometimes, even though he loves it when you both are your own individual, independent people a lot of the time!

You were the best thing that happened to him

when he felt like the fifth wheel, he wanted to be in your arms again

He never gave up hope coming back to you

But then stupid slav told him the percentage chance his girlfriend probably has someone else since she thinks he's dead

That shattered his whole world

He thought all the time: do you have someone else, why should you wait for him

his self-esteem was in the basement. way down deep.

 As the years went by, the pain became a little more bearable. His broken heart was covered with fake smiles

when he was on his way to earth with the others, he was nervous. he hadn't even said goodbye. would you still accept him? 

Please do it, my heart 😭 

you in turn had hope again since holt came back to earth. but now it's about war. 

you as a medic had to rescue injured people. that was your job at the garrison. you had to accompany dying people day and night. had to comfort families.(poor you)

when the paladins finally arrived with the alien ship, you went straight for Lance. but you couldn't go to him as he had to go straight to a meeting

when the meeting was finally over, he saw you. his eyes wide open. tears in them 

„Y-Y/n" he stuttered with a shaky voice. immediately you hugged him "i missed you, you idiot" you whispered into his shoulder. 

All these years he was afraid that you had left him, but you waited for him. He didn't deserve you.

Now he was tearing up again but dont let him know I said that..-

He definitely had to spend this day with you.

Keith is a "tough" guy who is kind of, well brash with everyone. 

Shiro had tried for a long time to get that out of his thick skull but without results.

So when THE Keith got a girlfriend, Shiro couldn't believe it at first.

So he also saw the gentler Keith turn back into the old Keith when they were all together in space.

Fanfic:

Bad Timing - an allergy fic (crazy for me, I know), ft. two characters I've never written together ever again? haha. I particularly like the last scene here; I think the caretaking I write is usually more tender. Rosaria's response is neither tender nor sadistic—just detached :') The novelty of that was refreshing to me.

Pretense, pt 1 and pt 2 - This one did not get as great of a reception at the time of posting, I think because part 1 is a little boring LOL. I don't have much to say, except that it's lighthearted and fluffy!

Untrustworthy - Diluc at the scene of the crime again 😭 This was a commission for someone, and it's also one of the few fics I've cross-posted to ao3. Honestly, I write a lot of stuff like this (i.e. similar in tone & character dynamic), but within the niche of what I'm most familiar with, I especially like this piece in terms of execution.

Original:

Fool Me Twice, Part 3 - quite possibly one of my favorite things I've written of Yves and Vincent, ever (and it came so early on in the series, too!) There's a certain character moment in this one (iykyk) that I'm particularly proud of :) And stylistically (as in... prose), I think I'm happy with it too.

🤧 - What’s your process for writing spellings?

I'm embarrassed to say that I've written soooo much snzfic in my life 95% of the time spellings are just something I write something from memory. 😭 That said, I sometimes reread other people's snzfics and with special attention paid to their spellings to expand like, my mental repository of consonant placings & pairings.

When I'm writing 2 different characters, I usually have to explicitly think through how their spellings might differ from each other before I can write them! I can suspend my disbelief if two characters from two different fandoms have similar spellings/snz archetypes, because I'll never write them in the same fic 😭 But if the characters exist in the same universe, in my head, their spellings have to have some level of distinctness/non-overlap.

I think the most memorable snzfic I've consumed has been snzfic that has surprised me, either in terms of tropes or execution. When I'm reading original fic or fanfic for characters I'm not familiar with, I like reading things that feel very different from my own work—sharper, bolder in execution, unexpected in terms of direction, etc. :')

I think I have a decent sense of what I am already familiar with writing. I like seeing other people operate outside of that niche... so long as there's still some overlap with what I personally find hot. (So in that sense, it doesn't align exactly!)

That said! There are some tropes which I write frequently which are soooo hot to me that I could see them written 90580923 ways and not tire of them (eg caretaker catching the sick character's cold?? sign me up please!) 😭😭 I also think I don't care as much for trope novelty/new execution if I already really like the characters.

🌞 - Do you need a specific environment to write? Like music, a certain time of day, a certain type of place?

The one non-negotiable aspect for me is that it needs to be very quiet :') I absolutely can't write with music on (despite being a huge music enjoyer + songwriter). I'm not good at tuning out 'unimportant' audio stimuli, so I'd rather not have music/sound fight with writing for my attention.

Aside from that! I think I do most of my writing in my room btwn like, 7pm-12am (in part because I'm a bit of a night owl, and in part because the house tends to be quieter during those hours).

my kitten went missing since yesterday and I am feeling really sad right now. I can't stop thinking about him and worried if he is ok or not. I just want to have him back in my arms so I could kiss and hug him.

Just to calm myself down, I want to imagine Riddle having a little black kitten that he found around NRC. It was a stray, a little baby that is not even a week old. Riddle couldn't find its' mother, so he assumed either the mother cat leave her child, or something happen to the mother cat. So Riddle hurriedly bring the weak kitten back to his dorm when he didn't know what else to do.

He then tried to raise and help the kitten himself. But since he doesn't really know how to help a kitten nor raise them, there's some trouble on the way. But after some trials, research, and lots of questions about kittens to Silver and Trein-sensei (without him actually tell them why), he finally manage to help the kitten back to health.

Times goes by and the kitten grow bigger. The kitten is a really active and mischievous little fellow. It loves to play around and make a mess in Riddle's room, but he never (or can't) get angry at it. He at first want to just let it go, but the kitten always ran back to him and purring and show it's huge eyes towards Riddle. So now he continue to hid the kitten in his room without any of his dorm members notice.

One day, when he was to leave for class, without his knowing, the kitten ran pass his legs just before he lock his door room. When Riddle got back he was panicking when he found out his little kitten is missing. He make a wreck on his room, trying to find his kitten. This ruckus is what lead the other HB students to his room and then find out about his pet.

They all then panicking trying to find the kitten. It has been hours, and Riddle is worried for his kitten safety. Since the kitten is so small and have black fur, it is hard for everyone to find it.

The next day they still can't find it and Riddle is more quite than ever. Not even Strawberry tart and cute hedgehogs can lift his spirit. No one in the dorm know what to do. But then during lunch break Silver or someone come to the cafeteria carrying the black kitten, who is now meowing in its high pitched noise. Riddle, hearing it's cry, look at the cafetaria door and power walk to the person that carrying his kitten, while crying his eyes out calling the kitten's name.

What I want to say, Riddle really love the kitten and he for sure love to complaints about everyone to his kitten, while the kitten just pawed him on the face and kiss his cheek with its' nose.

I usually have cats around the block and there is a particular black one that keeps trying to break in my apartment weekly (they managed a few times) As such, I do know that cats usually get homesick after a good chunk of time. If they are attached to someone/something, they will come back.

Now... I'm gonna apply this to the idea you told me rn. Hope it takes your mind off for a bit and makes you feel a bit better :3

At first, Riddle most likely was in a pickle since this was a living being first and foremost. And he didn't know if the kitty had any allergies or disorders or anything that would compromise a normal cat's treatment.

In truth, he's just overthinking this. :'3

First days are hard and Riddle has no idea what to do. He does start to doubt himself since if he cannot even take care of a kitten, how was he supposed to treat people as a doctor? He starts to doubt that his mother was right about him having to become a doctor if he's this incapable of tending to a living being with much simpler needs.

But once he does keep a pace and gets used to it, it becomes more evident that it's more of a routine change he had to get used to. The kitten too had to get used to this as it was new and probably even scarier than for Riddle.

Definitely, Riddle does some research to have the recovery as quick and as efficient as possible. But he also tries to raise the kitten to the best of his abilities. He doesn't expect it to listen to him since start, because this was a cat. A cat cannot possibly understand human language since start. It was a young cat who was yet to gain a better understanding of it's sorroundings. So Riddle makes sure to have the kitten secured, usually on a side of his bed in a makeshift nest out of pillows and blankets to prevent it from falling off.

By time, the kitten gets used to it. It meows when it knows Riddle would come back. If by chance, the redhead runs late(maybe he nags someone or got an encounter with Floyd), the kitten would scratch at the door and meow, so Riddle alway finds it by his leg when he opens the door.

Riddle does get attached to the little bby, but he also knew that he had to give it away, to someone who could actually take care of the kitty. His mother could never approve of a pet, let alone a cat that makes a mess everywhere. So that thought does make him sad, but it was for the better. Doesn't help that the kitty returns to him whenever he tries to let it go outside and get over it.

So the attachment is there. :'3

One day, the kitty escapes, trying to follow after Riddle to classes, but it gets scared by the other students and thus gets lost through the school. Of course, Riddle didn't realise this until he came back and the panic was very real.

Meanwhile, the kitty was trying to return to the dorm, to it's 'home'. Being a kitty, even with students who spoke cat like Ruggie or Azul, they could bearly make out that the kitten wanted home. It was a young cat still and their meows weren't as good and precise as Lucius's.

The kitty happens to be passed from student to student, to the point they had to give it over to the next one since it would scratch, bite and refuse to eat food given by them.

In the end, it ends up at Silver. Silver did have a bit of a hard time too, which was surprisingly, but this is also what makes him to determine that the kitty had an attachment to someone and most likely is looking for its owner.

Meanwhile Riddle goes through a whole lot of mess. The students who did see the cat tried to give imput, but it fell flat since the kitty was passed so many times in between them that it was hard to even say who had it last. The other Heartslabyul students also try to help, but again, the trail of passing around was way too big and complicated to even determine who had it last.

Riddle was at his desperation when Silver finally finds him. He heard from Kalim how the redhead would look for a kitten. A black kitten, who happens to fit the description of the one Silver found and tried to take care of. He realised the little cat had an owner that was attached to.

It does become a heartfelt reunion. Especially since the kitten immediately dug it's little claws in Riddle's clothes, not wanting to let go. For the rest of the day, Riddle takes the kitty to all his classes and is absolutely in a great mood.

By the end, finally the redhead decides to properly keep it. He would come with an elaborate excuse to his mother, but for now, firstly he had the kitty wear a ribbon bow with a tag, in case it got lost again. :3

⟢ megalodon and several other deep-sea Big Boys, like sea serpents and cryptid whales — in my opinion, there’s so much ocean and so little we know about it that anything could be lurking down there!

⟢ also, i’ll take a page from cheerisse’s book and say aliens! i’m by no means a conspiracy theorist, but similarly to the ocean, i believe the universe is vast and since there’s so much we don’t know about it, there’s a good chance there may be some other kind of life out there !! (i’m definitely the “cosmic optimist” type :3)

11. favorite extracurricular activity?

⟢ reading and writing for sure !! writing fanfic has been a hobby of mine since middle school, and i’ve been reading ever since i could pick up a book; i’ve actually had quite a few original characters and plotlines over the years, and am considering posting some of my current ocs here when i have the time!

⟢ irl: the better question might be what scenario i haven’t replayed multiple times 😭 i overanalyze a lot of stuff, which means random conversations and embarrassing moments get stuck in my brain quite often !! (especially when i’m trying to sleep, like please now is not the time i have to wake up early tomorrow!)

⟢ fictional: lots of hugs from fictional characters, plus whatever fanfic or original plotlines i have circulating up there — recently, i’ve been a huge fan of “character shows up unannounced at other character’s door, bleeding out, and other character has to rush them inside to take care of the wounds” !!

27. about how many hours of sleep did you get?

⟢ surprisingly enough with how late i tend to stay up, i usually get around 10-12 hours of sleep (last night i got 11)! i think it might be something to do with pots, but my body just needs a lot more rest than others i know !! plus, i sometimes take a little power (*cough* 2-3 hour *cough*) nap when i have allergies or crashes :3

Hmm....probably just when I used to work in an office and my allergies were bothering me! I'd already sneezed enough times for my liking one particular day. To hold back I was pressing under my nose and pushing my tongue against the roof of my mouth. I was hoping some kind of mental block would help me out but no 🙄 - I ended up having to stifle a fit of 7 sneezes and my coworker noticed and asked me super loudly if I was catching a cold 😖 very embarassing!!

🤒 You ever felt like you starred in your own sickfic?

Unfortunately, yes 😭 I had tonsillitis as a student in Japan a couple of times before it came back a third time. I went to bed thinking I was just catching a cold but then woke up with a fever in the middle of the night and the worst pain in my throat. One of those times where I just knew something was really wrong - I had the dorm lead escort me to the hospital.

I was sent back home with some weak painkillers and tried to sleep but everytime I swallowed the pain would wake me up. My friend came to check on me in the morning and when I got up and opened the door to her I started to faint and she had to grab me and half carry me back to my bed. I started freaking out because my hearing and sight went temporarily and she ran to get help.

Basically, I was then escorted to an ENT, where a camera was shoved down my nose and the doctor told me it was one of the most severe cases he'd ever seen and they put me on a drip for 3 hours because I was so dehydrated 🤡🤡🤡

The antibiotics worked pretty quickly and I was okay again after a week, but still! Not fun to experience, but deffo a decent sickfic scenario haha

If we're talking about me sneezing? Definitely the failed holdback story above! Otherwise it would just be me trying SO HARD to not blush or be visibly aroused in response to a good sneeze

For instance, when I was a teenager, my friend was round and we were watching films together. She was lying with her head in my lap and ended up having a drawn out fit of around 15 sneezes, with a minute between each sneeze. She reached up to cover her mouth but didn't move away at all and I had no idea what to do so I just went silent and hoped she wouldn't look up and see my bright red face 🥴 very awkward lol

In a non self ship update, Ani has been sending me spicy/flirty basically sexts all day he’s so in trouble when I get a hold of him. He’s not having a great mental health day so I won’t see him until Saturday or Sunday but he made sure to get me worked up. He still hasn’t decided if he’ll come to my birthday party I don’t know if party is the right word if a max of three people show up but maybe he will? It would certainly be nice having both the people I care about celebrate turning 800 million. I wish you lovelies could come celebrate with me. 🩷 I understand if he’s uncomfortable though he and my partner have never met so it’s an awkward situation. Hilariously after chatting with Ani I got an ad for an Anakin statue on Facebook and I thought it was very funny and apropos. I have a busy week of stupid lab work and doctor’s appointments next week before my actual bday on Friday, and we still haven’t booked anything yet. We’re planning on doing a Vegas in Detroit weekend because we can’t afford to go to Vegas and I’ve wanted to go for years so we’re doing the next best thing and going to the casino in downtown and staying the night if we can find boarding accommodations for Denny. I know some of you are like “Sol you’ve had months to plan this” yes we have but we had to save up money and get Denny up to date on his vaccines to be able to board him so we can’t book anywhere until tomorrow afternoon after his vet annual. So it’s all kind of last minute. Hopefully we’ll find someplace and if not we’ll just have a quiet birthday at home, my big plans for my 25th heart transplant anniversary never went anywhere so it wouldn’t really surprise me if my milestone bday doesn’t work out either my bday rarely goes well but that’s just life I guess. Either way we should still be able to have a nice dinner which is what I’m really excited about, even though I can’t eat a lot anymore. I’m only 35-40 mins from the casino so really I can go anytime if it doesn’t work out I just thought it’d be fun to have an irresponsible staycation somewhere fancy. I just wanted us all to have a fun time but I suppose we’ll see what the universe has in store for us. I really never thought I’d see this bday as I was supposed to die as a kid so it’s kind of a huge deal I just hope it’s a fun one, my last big milestone bday was my worst ever (long story short my Mother and I had a very toxic relationship at the time, she got shit faced insisted it was her bday and ruined the whole occasion) so as long as it’s better than that we’ll be good. I unofficially celebrated my bday when I was with my family earlier this week and had my favorite cake but much to my dismay my nephews were not fans of it but they loved my cooking and begged my brother to get lessons from me so that was nice. How do an 8 and 10 year old not like a caramel chocolate cake?! I guess the pecans were the problem they don’t have allergies they just don’t like nuts I guess. They’re very picky and light eaters but I guess that’s expected at that age, hell I’m a billion and am still very picky but it’s a texture issue for me not a taste one. All in all the visit was successful but my partner never got a chance to tell their Mom they’re nonbinary and use they/them pronouns and have a new name. The drive was awful, we got a speeding ticket on the way to my partner’s Mom’s and had insane traffic and weather driving back from my folks in Florida, turns out Denny barks incessantly when the windshield wipers are on 😭 We made it safely though so that’s what’s most important, I haven’t made any weight loss progress though because of all the holiday food and lack of exercise. No excuses now that my routine is back to normal, back to the elliptical and healthy foods. Just figured I’d update you lovelies on what’s going on with me, I’ll post later in the week after my cardiologist appointment to keep y’all up to date with that too. Sending lots of love.
