gonna put everything undercut, taking this from my comments on someone else's post so sorry if this is formatted weird i've never done anything like this </333

I like to think he's selective mute

his smile is his resting face which can make him hard to read initially

with that being said I think if he cares about you in our way traditionally, I think he takes the time to add nonverbal signals for his emotions

his ears twitch/move to show emotion, like a cat's (I think it would be easy for people to get confused what it means, which would end up with tales mixing which signals mean what for people who encounter him)

also giving him a small tail just cause, tails are fun

his favorite on brand is mtn dew :]

Samsonite likely inspired music in that universe, which would give more reasoning to drums/bass considering he likes a beat

that being said, I think he'd enjoy things like electro swing and would actively switch his dance style (enjoy the swing dancing mental image)

if y'all listen to music together that doesn't have much bass/beat I think it's slowly turn into pony by habit

he's a horse and I'm basing it off of the fact the song is Pony, do with that as you will

though all of his outfits have the overall and hat combo, I do think he also has the sagging pants and open shirt outfit on very rare occasions too (begging someone to draw this ngl)

I also want more people to draw his small fucked up form that appears during the exorcism, and whenever he tweaks out

collected some of my thoughts now that i've had time to think a little more and rewatched some of the last ep

overall, i had a lot of fun with J&J. there were a lot of really great elements and the first few eps especially were so fun with the disguises and ridiculous heist shenanigans interspersed with the heavier/darker elements in the story

i think part of some of the disappointment in the later half is what i wanted the story to do vs. what the story was actually doing and that's fine. there were definitely some elements that would've given the overall story more clarity and really driven the point home but also. it was just a fun show lol

did i think the hangman game was stupid? yes. did i have fun with it? also yes. dickhead/zorry was iconic

still obsessed with the fact that they were making out while boss was trying to figure out his ipad passcode. jackjoke really said fuck this looney tunes ass clown, if we're gonna die, we're gonna die sucking face. icons

i'm glad there was an explanation for rings that wasn't a random supernatural-esque element. i didn't love the horsemen story and think it muddled things a bit but them letting boss think the ring gave him power while it was just another game for them was a better conclusion than a lotr one ring to rule them all style plot would have been

while i found some of the writing/pacing/tone shifts a bit messy something about this show had all the right elements to get me fixated lol. i ended up having a lot of fun week to week, the combo of humour, acting, great cast and characters, and angst really did it for me. the brainworms are real fr lol

story aside, i think i can also just appreciate that this was a passion project for ywpb and that shows and there was fantastic work done, both story and production wise. you can see the hard work that went into J&J and it seems like they had fun making it. i'm sure seeing it come together was super satisfying for everyone involved in the production

alright let's be fr under normal circumstances ghost would never have to do last-minute christmas shopping

he's simply too prepared for that

like he's coming up with lists in october, buying gifts in november, and has them wrapped early december

but for the sake of story let's just say that he has some last minute shopping to do for whatever reason

maybe all his gifts got blown up and he has amnesia so he can't remember anything

jk idk just pretend he's been busy or something

anyways

ghost always has a good idea of what he wants to get people for christmas

so the problem is rarely what to buy but where to buy it

usually he'll go to a plaza that has a bunch of shops so he can just visit each one and see if they have it

another nice thing about ghost is that his sheer size and signature death glare makes it so that he never has to fight with another person to get a gift

he's definitely traumatized more than a few shoppers who tried to grab the same thing as him

somehow though he manages to get everything on his list

even if it takes him all day to find it

john "soap" mactavish:

alright so let's be real pretty much all of soap's christmas shopping is done last minute

he's a procrastinator what can i say

however after years of last minute panic soap has mastered how to get all his shopping done last minute

a few days before christmas he'll wake up early and then head to the mall

and pretty much just methodically work his way through each store until he finds something good for everyone

after he always rewards himself with a soft pretzel and gelato

it's a weird combo he knows but it's what he always bought at the mall as a kid and it brings him back

now soap doesn't necessarily have the intimidation powers of soap but he makes up for it by being ready to throw hands over gifts

besides it's not really like he has a backup plan

so because of this soap's gifts usually end up being those useful knick knacks that you always need but never remember to get

like can openers

he got everyone can openers one year

kyle "gaz" garrick:

alright so if gaz has to go last minute shopping it's usually only for small things

like extra stocking stuffers, wrapping paper, tape, etc.

so thankfully there's usually not much riding on it so it's less stressful

gaz actually really enjoys shopping because he can pop in his earbuds, turn up his music, and just unwind for a bit as he walks through the aisles

off topic but he's definitely the guy to just wander around a target listening to music

he'll usually just make the trips as he needs to

but they're usually just to walmart or target so he can stock up on candy and supplies

he also likes getting some of those fancy ghirardelli chocolates to snack on while he wraps gifts

his parents raised him to be polite so if he does end up reaching for the same thing as another person he always lets them grab it

but if it's the last item in stock he definitely gets secretly annoyed at them for it

alright so in a weird way i feel like price is sorta like the grinch

not in a "i hate christmas" sorta way but an "i don't want to go into town" kinda way

he likes to spend his christmases in his cabin/on base and he doesn't like dealing with the rush of customers doing last minute shopping

but of course there comes times where he has no choice but to run to the store to get another gift or restock on wrapping paper

and during then price is on a mission to get in and out of there as fast as possible

mainly because one year he got stuck in line behind a total karen

and his ten minute trip turned into an hour long ordeal

so now to reduce the chances of that happening he tries to speedrun his shopping trips

that being said he is a gentleman at heart so if someone grabs the same item as him he'll let them have it

even though he'll secretly be annoyed at them because then he has to stay even longer to find another gift

alejandro vargas:

alright so honestly i feel like alejandro is like ghost in that he tries not to get stuck doing last minute christmas shopping

he just doesn't like all the crowds and the lines

i mean he's not the most patient man in the world so it makes sense

he usually tries to keep his last minute gift buying to a minimum but if he does need to buy stuff he'll usually go to one store and get everyone things from there

think like home depot/a hardware store or maybe like a bath and body works

(they have a surprising amount of men's stuff okay)

that being said he usually knows what he wants to get each person from those stores

so if he comes to a point where him and someone else are reaching for the same thing he can sometimes get confrontational

it just depends tho

bc on one hand the gentleman in him is saying to let them have it but on the other hand he wants to get his friends a good gift

usually though he'll end up giving it up if it's like a woman or child

but with men he'll usually try to fight for it if it's really getting heated

rodolfo "rudy" parra:

i think he probably got a lot of his stuff done early but he wanted some extra things because he was worried his gifts weren't good enough

i feel like rudy's the kinda guy who goes really last minute and so a lot of things are going out of stock quickly

definitely is racing throughout the stores to try and find everything he needs

and he simply will not be in a situation where someone grabs the same thing as him because if he sees someone in the same aisle as him he is sprinting and grabbing that thing asap

he really doesn't want to have to fight with someone else over it

especially before he knows he'd end up giving it to them

Hey, in your Fairy Tail story, when natsu and gajeel fight the twins, could the natsu and gajeel lose? honestly, I was disappointed Natsu defeated those two easy, I get it was supposed to be a "comeuppence", but it wasn't as fun as the fight between Elfman and Bacchus. In fact, is the whole tournament arc going to be reworked, the whole dragon situation seems overkill and pointless.

I was thinking abt rouge and sting so here

I want to hammer home the power of friendship and themes of celebrating differences and second chances

So to me, sabertooth was a v uniform guild, they all were trained in their specific magics and paths but it's v ridged and by the book ig?

V military esque

Bc of sting and rouges magic being so niche and so similar while being opposites, they were only ever taught to fight together in near perfect unison

Their moves sets are all the same and any combos are predictable after the first few times and if you separate them, they fall back on very basic moves

They're a set that need to be together in order to win

Meanwhile natsu and gajeel work together *because* of their differences

They make random plans on the fly and barely practice anything together, they don't train together at all but due to heightened dragon slayer senses they're good at staying out of the others way or figuring out what the other is planning

They embrace their differences and once they figure out all of sting and rouges' movesets gajeel is fr like damn it's not fun if I know what they're gonna do, I'm gonna sit this out

Bc go me gajeel is more adrenaline junkie, he liked crazy unpredictable fights, nothing boring

So natsu is like damn ur gonna make me do all the work??? Fuck u???

And by then sting and rouge r tired bc they aren't good at pacing themselves in fights, they threw out their strongest moves first and the ones that hit didn't do as much as they're use to on normal wizards

It all comes down to them not being as experienced and relying too heavily on each other, leaving no space for imperfection so they aren't adaptable like natsu or gajeel

So natsu kinda just separates them with a fire wall type thing and clocks them individually

He starts with rouge since he can't do much with shadows with so much light and by the time sting and get to him he's already done

So that just leaves natsu w sting and he cleans up easy

Gajeel laughs at him like I could have taken them out without separating them loser and natsu gets all huffy like EXCUSE U

And yeah I hate the second half of the gmgs arc, it's lame I'm sorry idk how I'm gonna rewrite it but so much of it gets overhauled in my mind

after months of putting it off i finally finished xc3 future redeemed with 25ish hours in yaaaay time to put this thing to rest with some extremely junk thoughts below (with spoilers of course)

i gotta be honest, i wasn't really looking forward to playing through this dlc ever since it was announced. it came out in...what? april? may? i forget, but it was around the time that i was playing the dlc for horizon and then i think totk dropped after that and i just kept using that as excuses to not pick it up and play through it. plus i wasn't a fan of the design for older shulk (yeah yeah i know inspiration from dunban but idk just personal preference that i didn't vibe with it) and well rex is probably my least favorite protagonist tied with the dude from tales of arise (lmao i forgot his name), and really overall i didn't care to play as them again, so i mean not the most perfect material for me to look forward to.

anyways, some positives:

-seeing colony 9 again was cool but the excitement to callbacks to places in xenoblade 1 kind of wore off in xc3. so when i heard the original colony 9 overworld music it didn't make me flip my shit as when i would see references to it in the base game. it was more of a oh that's cool i guess. same with valak mountain even though when i played DE i was so excited to see it again.

-might be because it was a dlc and the world wasn't as unnecessarily huge and empty to explore as in the base game but i actually was having a better time exploring this world than the base game's. finding relics and containers was actually useful and rewarding (and necessary i'd say!) this time around instead of finding your nth useless drop-off container or whatever those things were in the base game that i just stopped bothering to pick up.

-oh in comparison to finding and sending of husks which i again lost incentive to do very early in the game, finding city survivors was better because at least you would get to see colony 9 grow etc.

-the chain attacks are still as fun as ever and FR is no exception. it was great hearing the chain attack music again!

-i felt like the bosses were harder this time around? alpha kicked my butt several times before i was able to beat him. i mean i certainly didn't have the best gems (sorry, not gonna go farming!) and didn't unlock all the slots for accessories/gems/affinity growth but it was a nice change having to be on my toes and carefully plan my chain attacks instead of just doing whatever like i would do in the base game lol.

-glimmer actually? sorry that your dad is rex but your healing powers saved my ass so many times in the last battle that now you get an honorific mention. like...this girl was just ON. TOP. OF. IT. i'm a bit confused about the instrument theme that she had going on though--was this an xc2 reference that i'm forgetting or something? like did pyra/mythra really like music? lol. anyway i really liked her and nikol's friendship and the bits that we got to see of it, it's why i never changed their unity combo because they are besties and they always attack together :) OH and that sidequest that ends with A volunteering to teach glimmer how to play the lute was cute, especially since that sometimes you get to see them practicing together at rest spots. i wish we had gotten more types of those sidequests but well, can't have it all i suppose.

-A. i was very wary about her character starting the dlc but she actually ended up growing on me, design-wise and battle-style wise. her friendship with matthew was interesting and i liked how she would compliment matthew's wild and reckless side. idk not much to say here other than i thought she was cool despite me being judgement about her character initially lol.

-matthew. pretty fun protagonist. it was like having reyn as a protagonist except with a bit more smarts. again i was wary about his character starting off but his personality as a protagonist was refreshing and he was pretty fun to play as, too.

the negatives:

-the secret locations were...pretty lame? they were in the base game as well so idk what i expected. i'd get to a secret location and i'd be like oh....is that it? i don't remember xc2's secret locations or how they'd compare but i know most of the time xc1's would get a little bit more of a reaction from me.

-the affinity scenes oh my god. they were so boring and meaningless to watch most of the time. i think i watched at least like 80% of them and there wasn't really anything that would make me look forward to watching them like xc1 future connected's. i think in one of them you're just talking about the fighting machines that they're building in colony 9? or looking at a tomb?? like idk i certainly wouldn't feel like i was growing my "affinity" with any of the party members! plus the fact that they were just like shots of the scene you were looking at instead of seeing the characters interact (like with FC's) would just make them feel even more souless. idk maybe i'm just so jaded about this whole thing now but i just didn't really feel it when shulk talked about fiora at the overlook park or dunban outside of his house. i guess it also doesn't help that he's talking about them with people who don't know anything about his world so that must be weird to him too. so i mean idk i'd always look forward to the heart-to-hearts in xc1 and affinity scenes in FC and here it was just like maybe one or two that i was like "wow i'm so glad i got to see this!"

-ok this is pretty random and i'm not sure it's a negative but i was just reminded of this when talking about the previous point: towards the end the whole party is walking together towards prison island and within earshot of everyone else shulk is talking to A and he's like "hey, A, when I refused to become a god..." like lmao imagine being nikol or glimmer and hearing THAT sentence. like WHAT hahahaha like SIR what do you mean!!!! anyway!!!

-na'el. i'm sorry but...why am i supposed to care about her again other than she is matthew's sister? she likes kids and likes to play the piano? unlike N who i got to sympathize with after learning his origins, i never really cared much for na'el and actually was like "whatever lady, i don't care much for you!" whenever she'd show up, so i wasn't able to really to connect to matthew's struggle or whatever. like i know she's supposed to remind us of N/moebius with her being like "i don't wanna fight anymore i just want things to stay as peaceful as they are RIGHT NOW in the city!!" but idk i never found her character to be too sympathetic or interesting for me to care about, so her whole thing was just....pretty weak to me which is kinda bad considering how much of the game seems to revolve around her.

-again this isn't exactly a negative but one thing that confused me was that i'm PRETTY sure matthew mentions the queen of keves being imprisoned in the castle, which is something that nia also mentions when you rescue her in the base game. so is the reason why shulk and them are not worried about that atm is because...of the truce...with Z...and...alpha being the main threat?? i mean I GUESS but unless i misunderstood (not sure because as soon as i heard that i was like uhh HELLO??) it just seems kind of weird knowing that melia is captured (unless matthew meant the "fake" melia which to him would be the "real" one since he wouldn't know) and they're just like yep!! that's right! she's imprisoned! anyways.

uhhh this is getting way longer than i wanted it to be so i'm just gonna wrap it up and say yep, that was A DLC alright. i mean again this is just me being jaded but after i finished xc2 and saw that they were trying to connect xc1 with xc2 i was just like...why lol. considering how i thought xc1 ended pretty well?? i just never really cared about how this whole thing would connect, so i don't really remember ANYTHING about xc2 other than how much i did NOT enjoy it, i never played its dlc because i didn't care about the lore. while i was playing the dlc i know some xc2 stuff flew right over my head, and i'm rusty on my xc1 lore, but again, xc2 disappointed me so badly that i just never really bothered to keep up with the overall lore. i enjoyed some parts of xc3 yes but after i finished it i was never like oh i hope they make a dlc of this and that!!! unlike when i finished xc1, where i DID want to play Future Connected because of how miserably things ended for melia in regards to her dead family, her people, her half-sister who apparently hated her (BUT LUCKILY RECONNECTED WITH AT THE END), and her whole hometown being fucking destroyed. might be me being biased because melia is like one of my favorite characters ever but i mean...who wouldn't want to know what would happen post-xc1 to such a tragic character? which is kind of funny to say considering that we more than likely would not have gotten FC if it hadn't been for xc2 lol.

anyway, overall i don't really feel too strongly about this dlc. i was just mostly going through the motions and trying to get it done so i can just move on with my life lol, i got other games to play. like sure it was great seeing the worlds at the end unite once and for all and apparently there were some xenosaga references towards the end to make this whole thing be in the same universe (which flew over my head since i'm not that familiar with xenosaga), so that's cool and all, but idk rex and shulk sacrificing themselves and the game trying to make me feel sad by having nikol and glimmer run up to them because those are their dads!!! ;( just made me shrug and be like "ok i guess??" yeah i'm tired lol.

oh well, for now time to wait for the next game in the xeno series!!!!

Of course you may! Oh wow, I actually have a lot of favorite dynamics, I think I’m going to have to make a list 😭:

• Team E-Scope (I love them so much, they really did that in their one episode that they all had together. This team was just so much fun and chaotic, all their dynamics worked really well together, especially involving Eva, such an underrated character. But yes, love these three 🫶🏼)

• Noah and Owen (They were really funny and adorable, I especially loved them in World Tour and the Ridonculous Race, they were a combo you wouldn’t expect working, but they did and bounced off each other really well! Just two kings being kings 😌)

• Katie and Sadie (Icons 💅🏼 They didn’t serve anything relevant to the story, but they did serve comedy and delivered in that department. I loved them, they were just so goofy and light hearted, I wish they competed in another season, honestly 😔)

• Brick and Jo! These two were a lot of fun, I absolutely loved their rivalry because I always got the feeling that they did actually like one another, competition was just kind of their thing together and I thought that that was super interesting. The ROTI cast definitely deserved more screen time fr, I wonder what else these two had in store.

• Mike, Zoey and Cameron were absolutely adorable, the most wholesome trio in TD history, me thinks! 🥹 They all just were constantly trying to understand one another and having each others’ backs, a very wonderful bond that they all had together.

• Emma and Kitty is another one that I thought was really enjoyable to watch, seeing them work together through their differences was pretty cool to see, especially as they competed more in the game. They were just overall really engaging and really sweet. 🥰

As for something I wish I could’ve seen…

• Harold and Heather is one that I wished we got to see more of. I absolutely loved their moments together in the Island special, they were interesting character studies for both of them and I wish that it built up to something great in Action, but for what we had, their duo was fun. 😌

• B and Dawn is one that I also really wished we got more from, they seemed like they would’ve been a big power duo with smarts pulling from the mind spiritually and mentally, but alas, we only had those three episodes and even that wasn’t a lot 😭
