i think my concertino is in a really good shape and i’m quite happy with it (and the embellishments i’ve added to the variations). we’ll see how monday’s competition goes tho
#sasha speaks#oboeposting#i like my piece and it definitely shows off some skill but it is not like a Flashy/Showstopper/CompetitionWinning kind of piece#it's much more. mozart concerto than goosens or martinu#which. like. i definitely prefer it that way both as a listener and as a player#i like music that makes sense#but not knowing exactly what all the competition i'm up against is like...#well i glanced at the undergrad clarinet's piece and it is definitely going to give me a run for my money#it's like 1960s and filled with like every rhythm imaginable so#plus i know the player is really good#as happy as i am with the shape of my concertino i just don't know that the piece itself is flashy or impressive enough to win a competition#ah well. whatever happens will happen
