God relatable about the "been on tumblr for 10+ years but still dont know how to use it well". I actually haven't really answered too many asks like this, at least not asking for resources and what not.

I do want to put a bit of a disclaimer about "non-western plurality" - at least from what I know from a more eastern perspective - a lot of "non-western plurality" does not actually really call itself plurality.

The concept of "plurality" in its self is a heavily western / european kind of concept, not because it only exists in those spaces, but because a lot of other spaces don't really make anything special of it so a name, community, label, etc is not exactly necessary or even particularly sensical. It's kind of like looking for "western singularity" or more accurately "western individualism". It's a bit redundant - at least in my personal perspective.

In a number of non-western cultures, the idea of having multiple selves and having that deep internal relationship isn't really anything too odd and I've heard a number of systems raised in those cultures or around cultures rooted in eastern philosophy that the people they mentioned having alters / parts / headmates to often responded POSITIVELY and casually to the concept because its generally just considered relatively normal if not a positive thing to engage with. The real question then becomes whether or not it counts as plurality or not and that's really up to the individual themselves.

It's a very western thing to really make a huge deal, spectacle and oddity out of experiencing oneself as multiple and honestly I think that can be kind of really well seen in a lot of eastern media with how much plural-adjacent themes are seen in non-DID and not-trying-to-be-DID ways. There is a large aspect of an external self and an internal self, a balancing of good and bad and opposing forces in a lot of Eastern Cultures both on religious, spiritual, philosophical, and just plain old cultural levels. Yin and Yang, Non-dualism, "Face", the general collectivist culture, Buddhism as a whole and deity yoga in particular.

Partially due to the social norms that tend to come with a highly collectivist culture and just the prominent foundational philosophies and spiritualities that are generally native to the area and the lack of a strong sense of individualism as seen in the west, it's extremely common to have strictly different modes for different situations and places as there is a strong level of conformity and respect that needs to be provided to specific locations in order to uphold the strong value of harmony that is valued heavily in collectivist cultures. People in these more collectivist cultures tend to really have to balance and make amends between these highly varied versions of themselves and so it isn't all too weird to be juggling notably different, changing and sometimes conflicting versions of selves; the version of you who is shaped to meet the communal needs and appeal / participate in sustaining harmony and the you that really fucking hates everyone here.

From talking with others who come from more eastern backgrounds, a thing we tend to kind of sigh and giggle at in the system community in terms of it being "extremely white / western" is just how overtly a lot of discussions on self, parts, and what not is EXTREMELY individualist and very much fundamentally built with a strong attachment to differentiation, defining yourself, labeling yourself, and drawing clear boxes around who you are to help understand, explore, and define your own identity. It's hard to really explain to those that are really deep into the western concept of individualism and haven't really looked into it and analyzed it, but as someone who is not exactly a fan of individualism and individualist perspectives, it's EXTREMELY loud and obvious in system communities.

And this is all a lot of preamble to really say there isn't going to really be "resources for non-western plurality" because its not anything particularly special in Eastern Cultures and cultures not built largely from a long running history of Christian / Catholic and maybe Abrahamic Roots (I don't know enough of about Islam or Judaism to say for sure but a lot of individualism does tend to stem from a cultural history and background with at least Christianity / Catholicism). Because it's not exactly special or anything particularly unique of a concept, most don't really label it or name it something or even really discuss it (also a symptom of collectivism and general Eastern cultures is not really discussing mental health or internal experiences, most of your experiences in these cultures are kept internally and dealt within yourself rather than with others) unless directly brought up by someone who DOES find it odd; ie usually a westerner or someone like me who is a first generation American from an eastern background.

So if you want "resources on non-western plurality" you won't find it looking for "plurality" as much as you would by looking into individualism vs collectivism and the cultural roots connecting to those concepts.

Of course there are also the more overt ones that talk about it, like Buddhism does because Buddhism largely serves as a way to try to teach people to find harmony within themselves AND the world to find and instill a sense of peace and serenity overall. That's added onto the fact that a lot of Buddhism is based on talking and discussing things so its an odd card out in a lot of eastern cultures in the sense they ACTIVELY like talking about how people experience themselves.

A lot of what I know comes from life experience, what I've been taught by my family and peers, and discussions with people who come from their own backgrounds; ie, most of what I know comes from anecdotal personal experience. Some I also know from some formal cultural responsivity / sensitivity / trauma informed care modules for work and during school, but most of it is honestly from personal experience and anecdotes.

Even so, I can provide some starting points to assist someone unfamiliar with the territory in investigating and learning a bit on topics relating to the normalization of plural-esque experiences in non-western cultures.

"The Concept of Self in Eastern and Western Philosophy" by Petar Radoev Dimkov is just an interesting run down of major philosophical branches of thought's perception of self

General Reading of Collectivism VS Individualism; I suggest searching up things regarding the clinical significance of understanding and acknowledging collectivism vs individualism when working with clients as well as the impact of those cultures on how one's self concept is experienced, developed and understood

General readings on the history of prominent eastern philosophies / religions (Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Shintoism, etc) and their impacts on eastern culture / their ideas and values on the self, particularly in relation to others

And honestly? I'd suggest on actually searching and reading into the Western views of self and reading where those views and values come from as well because it will 1) likely bring up juxapositions to eastern views and 2) Its hard to truly learn and understand ANOTHER perspective if you don't first really sit and consider your OWN perspective

A lot of people think the idea that "we are one person, a unique self" is a scientific fact and in heavily white / western spaces, the way that statement is treated as fact is a very frustrating thing to see. "We are one person, a unique self" is a BELIEF that is ingrained deeply into Western Society that its treated and considered a fact despite there not really being scientific evidence to support it. (I think it also has something to do with how much "belief" is associated with religion, at least in America, rather than an opinion on something that has little scientific backing)

A lot of western psychology is also built with the assumption of a single unique self, so genuinely I think the best starting point for a white / western person to start trying to learn and understand eastern views is to first do a DEEP dive into Individualism and the Philosophy and Belief that everyone is their singular unique self.

Cause it's only when you acknowledge your own beliefs and cultural background can you actually appreciate, respect, and acknowledge another's beliefs and cultural background.

(Also just in general, learning about philosophy and following some people who just enjoy discussing philosophy can really help as well. Philosophy is the father of Science for a reason afterall. I don't know too much about him as I don't really actively follow him so he might have some bad takes or some bad history that I don't know about so take this recommendation with a grain of salt, but I really have enjoyed listening to Alex O'Connor on youtube talk about philosophy. I'm pretty sure he also engages in a lot of philosophy and religion-related debates and I think hes an Atheist? But I don't watch those so I dont know. I've only really watched his "Taking Trolley Problems Too Seriously" videos and a few one offs when I just needed something in the background while drawing, but he does know a lot of philosophical perspectives and does juggle them well enough that I honestly don't know his personal beliefs and lowkey don't really want to XD Ps: Im always hesitant to recommend youtubers cause almost all youtubers are assumed probably assholes, dicks, or Into Weird Things until proven otherwise)

“The Sixth Path is called the Mediating Intelligence, because in it are multiplied the influxes of the Emanations; for it causes that influence to flow into all the reservoirs of the blessings with which they themselves are united.”

Spiritual Experience: Vision of the Harmony of Things. Mysteries of the Crucifixion.

To enter into Tiphareth is to enter into the realm of Limitless Light. It is the Limitless Light because this is the mind that realizes that all our motivations, all our goals should be aligned with the greater Truth we have found at Yesod. Tiphareth is essentially a more stable version of the experience at Yesod, and is a state of being that we need to work on and refine many times until it is perfected. Thus, Tiphareth is the natural completion of the realization at Yesod.

It is the mind with the unfailing determination to pursue the spiritual path. It is the Limitless Light for it will ever be dispelling the darkness, driving back the frontiers of delusion, and ever forging new ground for the journey. It is what is known in Buddhism as the “turning-about” or in the Bible as “metanoia” the Greek word that has been poorly translated as “repentance.” “Metanoia” actually means a transformation of our being, a transformation to one that is focused purely on the spiritual quest and not on worldly attainments.

Tiphareth is the Sephirah with the largest number of paths linked to it. It is the center of activity on the Tree of Life, and is the center of the Noble Eightfold Path. The paths radiate from it like the spokes of the wheel that symbolizes the Noble Eightfold Path, and the paths are depicted in exactly the correct clockwise sequence as outlined by the Buddha.

Tiphareth is also known as the Mediating Intelligence because here is the powerhouse, the engine room that will propel us forward, the place where the influxes of the Emanations, the realizations, are multiplied. The second line in the Yetziratic text passage tells us how this is done. The words “it causes that influence to flow into all the reservoirs of the blessings with which they themselves are united” is a description that the paths centered around Tiphareth take a circuitous route.

This primary circuit flows from Tiphareth to Chesed, then from Chesed to Geburah, and back again to Tiphareth. The blessings originate from Chesed, and flows to Tiphareth via Geburah. Tiphareth then causes this influence to flow back into Chesed and the cycle repeats. The circuit has to be traversed many times, each time refining further the spiritual qualities of Tiphareth until it is finally ready to take us up into the World of Yetzirah. When ready, it does this by opening two long paths that reaches upwards from Tiphareth to Chokmah and to Binah, the paths depicted, in the Noble Eightfold Path, as Right Intention and Right Meditation. In all of the paths linked to Tiphareth, Tiphareth plays the central role, the role of the Mediating Intelligence.

The primary circuit involving Tiphareth in Assiyah represents the first of the Three Principles of the Path in Tibetan Buddhism: the determination to be free. It is the determination to be free from the vicious cycle of suffering of unenlightened existence. It is thus the commitment to take the spiritual path, the will to climb as long as we see to climb, higher and higher, until our chains run out of length and fall away behind us. This then is the Limitless Light and is the process of unveiling the first of the three Veils of Negative Existence, Ain Sof Aur.

Earth and Gnomes.

The Gnomes...are wonderful!

I Honestly don't know where to start this piece in a way that REALLY cover my whole experiences with gnomes and earth element in one light. There's so much that the gnomes really encompass than just the usual gnome=money or gnome=material wealth. Gnomes are more alive than we think and working with them it gives a better perspective of the consciousness in stuff we think doesn't have consciousness or a soul to begin with. EVERYTHING have that soul and awareness to it!

It's hard to really stop and say that the gnomes and earth element start and ends here, because they encompass the house, electricity ، water, comfort, attitude, places of worship, etc. What do I mean by that?

House, Electricity ، Water

The house is pretty simple idea of having a house spirit but what the gnomes provide is this buffer zone between you and the house spirit without you having to deal directly with micro-managing the house-spirit, if you're amicable with the gnomes' wisdom and ingenuity then that would lead to a more harmonious house, no? that include how the electricity, plumbing, and everything that make the house goes smoothly. A little bit goes a long way and what the gnome need is usually abnormal by our standards. That buffer zone, between us and the spirits is usually important to cover any compromise or mistakes on our parts.

Comfort, Attitude, and Place of Worship(Feng Shui?)

Coming to one's own place of worship, and even your attitude and how you feel around places...The gnomes awaken that sense of "knowing" how the place is! We all can definitely sense if something is off in a place or not but we often sometime ignore our own place and the places we are usually in. At least for me the gnomes and working with the earth elementals awaken the land, the flow, the chi, the energy going around us and make us feel how the whole place is breathing and operating. The gnomes, once we begin to work with their wisdom we start to EMBODY the place we work with and get grounded in the forces around us.

Embodiment(Etc)

In a Rahuian(Rahu-bodiless world) we are always looking at screen ignoring our bodies and the world around us throwing ourselves into a semi-digital world. We truly start to feel that we are disconnected from the world and if we truly don't go back and touch grass then we start to lose our sense of touch with the world! I tell you, the best reason to work with gnomes is to embody your work, to embody your spiritual path, and to be attentive of the foundation that you're building. That's truly the most important lesson with gnomes. Building the foundation, being attentive, consistent in one's own practice and life. All of these aspects of work culminate to become the structure shock-absorber of other more intensive phenomena of the spiritual realm so they don't get stuck being a purely spiritual thing but grounded and manifested into the real world!

Mercury in Pisces - my experience

Pisces is like a walking antenna, lol.

Being so, it brings various pieces of information to my mind (Mercury) all at once. Because of the symbolism of Pisces, it’s as if we are looking in two directions at the same time (not literally). But it feels like we always have one foot up in the air and the other down here.

The Piscean walking antenna, in a mental sense (Mercury), brings to me, in my case [given that I already work energetically and spiritually], awareness of what is happening around me in terms of energies, intentions, and issues that some people are emanating.

It also brings messages and intuitions that Spirituality often sends. This happens continually and brings me more and more into contact with the Whole, which, if I’m not careful, can become exhausting. But today I'm using this to generate well being to me and others.

In the past, I had difficulty with this: it was a constant situation. I was picking up everything from everyone, even unconsciously, since Pisces is very connected to the unconscious, the invisible, and the astral world.

Over time, it improved as I became more aware of my processes with my Pisces and how my mind was not only filled with my own thoughts but also with the thoughts of others that I was picking up.

For you, perhaps this ability to pick up external thoughts and energies is simply a problem, and there is nothing good about it. In reality, it’s not quite like that.

The problem lies in the surroundings and often the poor quality of the things around to be picked up. But when we come into contact with love, with lightness, with harmony, whether from beings present here physically who are light, or from beings from other dimensions of the universe (Spirituality, that is what matters to me), it’s so comforting, so wonderful, and what an opportunity to feel what the other brings with them.

And it’s not just about that.

After all, the most beautiful aspect that Pisces carries with it is the connection with other people. It naturally picks up on things, without seeking its own advantage.

The sign (not the individuals with this sign! Each person has their own free will) has a selfless nature, serving by seeking to connect and getting to the root of what hurts, what causes imbalance. Pisces is altruistic, and, of course, this is beautiful and important—we need more of this in the world!

But considering a life in a world full of lower ego, gratuitous hatred, materialism, indifference, competition, and such, Pisces also needs strategies to wisely guard its energy.

To avoid wasting it on those who would value it the least. To avoid bringing things into itself that do not resonate. To remain solely with its own energy.

The biggest challenge for Mercury in Pisces is being present in its own thoughts. Pisces Mercury needs to practice this.

Because if the people don’t pay attention to the fact that the placement has an immense ease in connecting with the astral world and the energies around, they end up manifesting and feeling everything at once, both its own and others'.

Consciousness and presence, as well as self-knowledge, save any Piscean from this process.

Grounding, grounding, grounding.

Value your sensitivity, if Mercury in Pisces represents this in your natal chart (unfortunately, I have seen many cases where the person predominantly manifests the Shadow of this placement: intuition used to manipulate, control, victimization, emotional manipulation, constant lies, leading others into states of illusion, etc.).

This card is a card that goes deeper into one’s life between them and another being. It reaches into the depths of the heart to tell you that your emotions have reached full peak together. It can be a new romance, new partnership, or even a new budding relationship with a friend. This card is meant to tell you that where you are going with someone is where you’re meant to go.

This is a card that lets you enter your being to make the choices you want with yourself or others. It’s not just about a relationship with someone else but also with your own emotions. You can be honest and open with someone else, as well as yourself.

Ultimately this card is meant to signify the choice you have with your mental/spiritual side. You are someone who trusts and who falls. Because of this you have to understand where it is you want to go.

VI THE LOVERS

Then the God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner."

You closed your eyes as the breeze brushed past your skin. You took in the sun’s rays that kissed your skin, feeling its warmth heat your body. As your eyes opened back up, you saw brightly colored fruits covering the floor in a bush. Kneeling down, you softly picked one before bringing it to your lips.

The juices seemed to fall down past your lips, causing you to lick at it before it dropped further down your skin. Because you had been so entranced with the taste of the fruit, you hadn’t noticed the only other person walking up to you.

“Hello.” You turned around, eyes sparkling at the sight of the handsome man.

His hair was pink and looked like it needed to be brushed. Locks of it fell in front of his eyes and it made you want to reach out to move it away. It had been swished to the back, like he had been moving his hands through it. He was ethereal to you–like you were seeing the creator yourself.

“Hello.” You smiled brightly, coming to a stand. “Would you like some?” You asked him, holding out some of the strawberries you had in your palms.

He looked at the fruit in wonder before reaching out to take one for himself. “Thank you.” He told you politely, bring it up to his lips.

You watched his lips wrap around the fruit, making you lick your own when the juices spilled out. You tilted your head to the side as a new feeling seemed to overcome your body. It wasn’t an unappreciated feeling, but it did leave you wanting to explore it more.

“What are they?” He suddenly asked you.

You looked down to the berries in your hand. “I called them strawberries. They are very delicious.” You giggled.

“You're very handsome.” You told him honestly, moving closer as you circled him.

“Thank you.” He answered, turning around to follow your movements. “You're very beautiful.” He told you, reaching a hand out to grab onto yours.

Your fingers intertwined with his, making you squeeze them. When your body began to heat up, your breath seemed to get caught in your throat as you subconsciously grew closer to him.

“How long have you been here?” He hummed.

“I don't know.” You spoke up. “I woke up under the Apple tree.” You told him, turning your head to look at the large tree growing in the middle of the garden.

“You didn't eat from it, did you?” You snapped your head to look at him, watching as his eyebrows were pulled together.

“No.” You shook your head.

“Please don't.” He told you.

“Why?” You asked in curiosity.

“I just need you to trust me.”

The way he spoke to you made you feel light-headed. You wanted to do everything he told you because that was what your body told you to. This man was the person you were destined to be with and you were not about to go against his wishes. Everything about him called to you

“Okay.” You smiled softly.

And the man and his partner were both naked, and were not ashamed.

One day, while Hongjoong tended to the animals, you had spent the time under the shade of the apple tree. You were appreciating the smell that it brought–tempting you, almost. But every time you would think about an apple, you would be reminded of what Hongjoong had told you.

You were going to honor his word, because his word was what brought you joy. It made your insides flutter and want to please him in any way you could think of. You began to think about him in a different way, that had you missing him.. Your thighs rubbed together, hands clenching at the grass beside you.

However, your eyes quickly snapped open when something called out your name.

“(Y/N).” The voice slithered closer to you.

Turning your head in suspicion, you watched as a snake made its way closer to where you laid. You sat up quickly, glaring at the animal. “You talk?” You questioned it.

“Yes, I'm one of the creations who can.” It raised its head, speaking your tongue.

“The other animals can't though.” You told it.

“Because I am special.” It continued.

“If you say so.” You shrugged, going back to looking at the garden blew with the breeze that passed.

“Why don't you try this?” You turned back to the animal, watching as it brought an apple forward with its tail.

“An apple?” You raised to your knees, frowning at the fruit. “Where did you get it from?” You quickly looked up to the tree, counting all the fruit that were there.

“I got it from the tree you woke up under.” It explained to you.

“Hongjoong told me not to eat from it.” You shook your head.

“What he doesn't know won't hurt him.”

You glared down at the snake, shaking your head as you began to feel uneasy with it.

“But it will hurt me.” You shook your head. “I love him. I can't disappoint him. No, thank you, Mr. Snake.”

“It's alright!” It persisted, shoving the apple closer to you. “Truly! I'll take your worries from you.”

“No. I'm okay.” You pulled back, starting to get upset with the way the snake was forcing you.

“Just a bite.” It pushed the apple into your face, making you swat at it.

“You're being very persistent and I'm not liking it.” You frowned, coming to a stand.

“Eat it!” The snake hissed loudly.

“She said no.” Hongjoong stepped on the snake's body, stomping it into the ground.

The animal hissed, moving to try and bite at Hongjoong, but the man was quick to grab it by the neck. “You better go home before he comes down.” With that, he quickly threw the snake across the garden, far away from the both of you.

You looked at him with wide eyes as you took in his rough look. It made your body heat up from how angry he looked. The blush began to settle over your entire figure, making you squirm. When Hongjoong turned to look at you, his features softened, reaching out for you.

“You trusted me.” He breathed, forehead placed against yours.

“I love you to the heavens.” You smiled at him. “I will always trust what you tell me.”

“My love.” He breathed out before closing the gap between your lips.

Your chest quickly pressed against his, hands moving to wrap themselves around his shoulders. His own moved down to your hips, pulling you tightly against him. His fingers gripped onto your fat, grunting as his cock seemed to brush against your leg.

He pulled back from you, looking down at his length that seemed to have blood rushing towards. You looked down as well, tilting your head at the appendage that was slowly rising up. You became curious over it, reaching out to touch it.

When Hongjoong hissed and dropped his head back, you quickly pulled back in worry. “Joong?” You asked him softly.

When Hongjoong opened his eyes to look down, he took notice of how you were rubbing your own legs together, so he thought it would be best to do what you were doing to him. The moment his fingers made contact with your heat, your hands faltered on Hongjoong’s length as you gasped out.

“Hongjoong.” You moaned, hips stuttering against his hand.

Let's open our wings and fly as high as the eye can see. Let's dive into the white fluffy clouds. Let's relax on the flower meadows and mossy stones. This kingdom steals the hearts of travelers with its beauty and ease. It overshadows the featureless dunes of Isle of Dawn. Welcome to the world where the ancestors achieved harmony with the beings of light. Welcome to the Daylight Prairie.

This place greets us right after we have recieved our cape. The Daylight Prairie seems to be an ideal realm, an ideal habitat for creatures of light. And I can't disagree with that. This place, unlike all other kingdoms, literally screams harmony with light. It is on the Prairie that we see butterfly catchers, bird nests and bells leading us. It is in the Prairie that Days of Nature are held, which are entirely dedicated to unity with the beings of light. In addition, the Prairie contains a large number of symbols of the Megabird herself. Gold, flowers, birds and bells. It's probably surprising to hear this from me, but the Daylight Prairie was the capital of Megabird worship. The spiritual center of her entire cult. And I was ready to believe it.

There was not a single evidence of the presence of another entity or another type of energy in this realm. The Daylight Prairie is perfect in its own... "lightnessness".

A mysterious altar, closed with 8 locks. This is a very strange, paranormal place. Skykids run through it in a hurry every day, not considering it necessary to enjoy the atmosphere of this place. But there is something fascinating about this location. It's magical. Maybe it's the isolation of this place, or maybe it's the difficulty of getting there. Anyway, all my life I considered this place to be an altar for Megabird. Eight pedestals, displayed in a circle and decorated with gold ornaments. Well, that's clearly Megabird. Everything was working out. Until two curious spirits came to this place with the intention of holding a festival here. And what happened next turned everything around.

The sounds of laughter and bells ringing. They have awakened this place from a long slumber. The empty altars lit up with new colors, releasing a column of energy unprecedented up to that moment into the sky. It wasn't a Megabird. We are too familiar with her handwriting to confuse it with someone else's. In the days of Color, we were dealing with something else. Someone else.

Prismix. Their name is Prismix. They are a little spirit of love and fun. A nymph or a satyr, if you transfer it to Greek mythology. They are active only during their holiday - Days of Color. This festival is held at the very beginning of summer, when nature is at its peak and the sun shines brightest in the sky. This is a celebration of love. Love for family, soulmate, friends and, of course, for yourself. The Primix awakens once a year for this celebration. They sow joy throughout the festival, and when people leave their altar, they peacefully falls asleep in it. Until next year.

The cults of Megabird and Prismix did not conflict with each other. Because the cult of Prismix did not exist as such. Prismix didn't need anything like that. They were never a full-fledged deity. They can't even leave their altar. All this spirit wanted was to bring smiles to the faces of the people of the Prairie. What a naive wish.

When Alef arrived on the Prairie with the desire to get rid of all the other gods, Ayin thought about it. Is it worth killing Prismix? He has done nothing to deserve such a fate. Instead of killing them, like the Four of the isle, Ain suggested a more peaceful way to get rid of this creature. There is no need to try to forcibly lock them in the altar if you can just not wake them up. It was a very neat decision. All the symbols of Prismix were removed from their altar and safely hidden. And the altar itself was closed with 8 locks and forgotten forever.

But now Prismix has awakened. And they hasn't changed. They are still cheerful, naive and happy. It doesn't matter to them who stands in front: a living person, a dead spirit or a child of light. Everyone deserves to be happy. I don't think Prismix's little head is designed to understand the horror of what happened in this world.

After all these years, they finally had friends. The two spirits that had accidentally awakened them. Now they have become their prophets, and year after year they return to this place with new ideas to make the Days of Color unforgettable. And the elder of the Daylight Prairie, through his slumber, hears the laughter of little Prismix, and thinks how things could have turned out differently.

Arcane's symbolism: Meaning of Vi

Of all the Arcane characters, I feel that Vi's name carries the most meaning in relation to her character.

Besides being associated with love in general, violets are also linked with lesbian love (thanks to Greek poet Sappho, who's poems centered around the relationships between women, who often wore the flowers). It's clear how this ties in with Vi and her relationship with a certain Pilty...

As for the shortened version of her name, Vi can be interpreted as the Roman numeral for the number six (which her stylised cheek Tattoo alludes to).

In Numerology, the number six is "the embodiment of the heart". It represents unconditional love and is a powerful force of compassion and empathy. The number six's strengths include:

Supportive - will be the first to provide a shoulder to lean on, truly try to understand, and give heartfelt advice. ("You wanna talk about today?", "We've all had bad days, but we learn, and we stick together")

Protective - its unconditional love extends to all people which allows it to speak up for those that don't have a voice. Especially fierce when it comes to family. (e.g. Vi standing up for Powder when Milo complains about her, her willingness to fight for the people of the Undercity)

Romantic - works hard to create peaceful relationships and is fluent in all love languages. Only happy when its other half is happy. (Romance we are yet to see...)

Its weaknesses include:

Passive - in order to keep the peace, six may allow itself to get taken advantage of. Would rather go along with an undesirable option than make waves. (We only really see this part of Vi when it comes to Powder/Jinx. "It's alright Powder, at least you're okay", "We can just go. We can leave and never come back")

Self-sacrificing - so willing to sacrifice itself for others that it neglects its own needs and well-being. Often overlooks the the self-care that would make it feel balanced. (e.g Vi willing to turn herself in to the enforcers. She has little regard for her own safety, putting herself in danger several times throughout the series in order to find her sister.)

Idealistic - expects everyone to treat others the way it does, which it believes would lead to a perfect world. When it realises its ideals are unattainable, it may face extreme upset. ("I grew up knowing I'm less than them, that my place is down there. I want Powder to have more than that and I'm willing to fight for it". Another moment that comes to mind is the council scene, where Vi becomes frustrated with the council for not sharing Jayce's view on stopping Silco. "This is how things are, how they've always been. I was so stupid to think it could change.")

(Going off point here: I noticed that Caitlyn has many of these qualities as well, in some cases exhibiting them even stronger than Vi. In this way, they are more similar than they realise. They both lead with their hearts.)

Let's move on to the third and final meaning, which lies in the realm of Tarot Cards. The sixth card in what is called the "Major Arcana" is, very fittingly, The Lovers.

This card has two different meanings, depending on its orientation in a reading:

1. The Lovers Upright

Represents conscious connections and meaningful relationships. The appearance of this card shows that you have a strong, beautiful connection with a loved one. You may believe you have found a soul mate or life partner. The chemistry between you goes beyond just physical attraction to something that is almost spiritual (AKA CaitVi).

While it typically represents a romantic tie, The Lovers card can also refer to a close friendship or family relationship where "love, respect and compassion flow" (AKA Vi and Jinx's sisterly bond)

The Lovers card is one of open communication and raw honesty. Its appearance is a sign that by "communicating openly and honestly with those you care about, you will create a harmonious and fulfilling relationship built on trust and respect". It's an invitation to open your heart and be vulnerable around someone (the scene that comes to mind is the one where Caitlyn and Vi are lying on the bed, and Vi talks about the childhood game her and Powder used to play. She shows a surprisingly amount of vulnerability, which leads to an intimate moment between her and Caitlyn. By being vulnerable, Vi instigated progression of their relationship. )

On a more personal level, the card is about defining your beliefs and values and staying true to them. You are figuring out what your philosophy is and what you stand for. (This is something we see Vi struggle with throughout the series. Vi's ideologies are constantly challenged and therefore evolving. In Act 1, it's through Vander's teachings, and the rest of the series, it's Caitlyn challenging everything she thought she knew about enforcers and Topsiders in general. Even so, the biggest threat to her value system is in the finale, where she is faced with whether or not she should choose to put some of her own values aside to maintain her relationship with Jinx. I think we will see a continuation of this personal journey in season 2: Is she going to follow Vander's example or forge her own path? Will she choose to believe the Piltover and the Undercity's relations can improve, or will they forever be "oil and water"? Who is she when she isn't constantly striving to reconnect with her sister? Will she ever be able to forgive her for everything she's done? Will she ever be able to forgive herself?

At its heart, The Lovers is about choice. Who you want to be. How you want to connect with others. This card is often a sign that you are facing a moral dilemma and must consider all the consequences before acting. It is advised not to make a decision out of fear, guilt or shame. Your values system is being challenged, and "you are being called to take the higher path, even if it is difficult."

Finally, The Lovers card encourages you to unify dual forces and bring together two parts, one that are seemingly in opposition, to form a harmonious "whole" (very fitting for a show whose central theme focuses on duality). This is where I see Vi and Caitlyn working together to forge peace between the two sides of the city, which is the reason she eventually becomes an enforcer. And, naturally, acceptance of this unified duality may also lead to the initiation of a relationship with Caitlyn.

2. The Lovers Reversed

Reversed, The Lovers can signal a time when you're out of sync with those around you, especially your loved ones (and it's no secret that Vi and Jinx have become "out of sync"). You're relationship is strained and communication is difficult. Depending on the case, you can either try to bring love and compassion to the situation, or you can accept that you've grown apart and move on (this is the harrowing decision that Vi is facing).

The Reversed card may reflect that there are feelings in a relationship that aren't mutual. One person may be more emotionally involved than the other which, down the line, can lead to disappointment and insecurity. You may also be reluctant to open your heart for fear of getting hurt. (This is basically the "oil and water" scene beat for beat. Vi is afraid of opening up to a relationship with Caitlyn and shatters the prospect of "mutuality" by stating that it "wasn't meant to be". And then there's Vi's relationship with Jinx, which also has a lack of mutuality, at least from Jinx's point of view: "I thought, maybe you could love me like you used to, even though I'm...different". i.e Why can't you love the new me like you loved Powder? It hurts because it's not that Vi doesn't love her, it's that she doesn't love her in the way that she wants her to, thereby leading to her choosing Jinx over Powder. She can't go back to being Powder. After all, "she fell down a well".)

Not only does the card refer to relationships with others, it also speaks to self-love and respect. To what extent do accept your identity and the value you offer the world? (I doubt Vi has any self-love and respect left, which is really sad. Her self-worth was already damaged in childhood; "I grew up knowing that I'm less than them. That my place is down there." This feeling of worthlessness was only exacerbated by her time in prison, where she was beaten senseless by the gaurds on a regular basis. You can tell by the way she carelessly throws herself into danger that she doesn't believe she's of any value except for being her sister's protector.)

The card encourages you to be mindful of when you look at other people and wish you were more like them. "Understand that if you can recognize these traits in others, it is because you have them within you." (In other words, what you perceive in others is a way for you to recognize your own strengths. Vi looks at Caitlyn and sees this amazingly kind, good-hearted and empathetic person. But what she doesn't realise is that she has these qualities as well. Caitlyn even points it out: "Despite it all, I can tell. You have a good heart ". Despite her constant cynicism towards Caitlyn, this quality still managed to shine through, enough for Caitlyn to notice it. My hope for next season is to see Vi get in touch with her tender side again after having to be tough for so long.)

If the Lovers Reversed shows up in a reading, you might face a tough choice with significant consequences (Vi faces the ultimate choice in the now infamous "tea party" scene, where Jinx presents her with the question: "Where should I sit? That's your choice, really." But what Vi doesn't expect is the way she has to answer that question: by choosing whether or not to kill Caitlyn.)

Instead of making a decision based on your values, you feel tempted to cut corners. (Vi tries to evade the dilemma by suggesting that they leave together. Nevertheless, this only makes the situation worse by riling up Silco.) The Lovers Reversed encourages you to reconsider and choose the path most in alignment with your values - no matter how difficult it might be (this might be a hint to Vi letting go of any prospect of a having a normal relationship with her sister again)

Lastly, this card can also suggest inner conflicts and being at war with oneself, rather than with external forces. You may be punishing yourself for something you have done or consider yourself responsible for. (Vi clearly has an extreme sense of guilt. She was the big sister that was in charge of taking care of her siblings, and when it came to it, save Vander. Even though there are several factors at blame, she feels responsible for the death of her family and her sister's poor mental health. Not only that, she also feels guilty for not being able to support Ekko and Powder in the time following that fateful night. It must eat her from the inside out: If I just hadn't gone through with the heist, none of this would have happened. Why did I have to hit Powder? Why did I have to call her a jinx? I have no one left, and it's all my fault. I'm the real jinx.

Now, let's take a step back and see what the running theme is here. Considering each of the three meanings her name represents, it's easy to see: Vi is the human embodiment of the heart. And love is the force that drives her. Nevertheless, sooner or later she's going to flatline. A heart must both give and receive blood for it to continue beating.

From what we've seen, there is NO DOUBT that Vi is able to give immense amounts of love; it's literally permanently tatooed onto her. But the question remains; will she be able to let herself receive it?

They weren’t sure where they were. They weren’t sure who they were either. Was she Donnie? Or was he Odette? Were they a swan or a turtle?They weren’t sure anymore. They just knew that they were safe in the Lake. The Lake would protect them. They didn’t need to ever leave.

A hand closed around their wrist. They opened their eyes, their vision swimming with water and white feathers.

A black swan, a turtle was staring at them. The other had a soft expression, understanding and loving. They knew they this other was special to them.

Twin. This was their twin.

“Donnie.” “Odette.” The twin spoke with two voices, layered and overlapping like a harmony in their favourite melody. “It’s time to come home.”

Home. What was home? Home was where they were safe. Home was where they were comfy and safe and protected. Home was the Lake, right? But then, the other said it was time to go home. Where was home?

Maybe home wasn’t a place, but a person. Yes, that felt right. Home could be a person, could be people. Home was the place where they felt most loved. Home wasn’t in the Lake. Home was somewhere else.

Donnie kicked his legs. Odette flapped her wings. They pushed towards the surface, following their twin, their home.

Othello broke the surface of the water, clinging to their twin. They knew something was wrong, something was missing, but they didn’t know what.

“I’ve got you, Othello,” Leandro murmured, keeping Othello afloat. “It’s okay. We’re okay. It’s almost over.”

What was almost over? What were they forgetting?

“It’s harder for you to remember right now because you’ve been here so long, Othello. But the Lake is letting us go. We just have to release it,” Leandro explained, flapping their wings and pulling Othello out the water. When they landed, they stood on the surface once more. “You need to let go. It’s scary and it feels like it’s wrong, but trust me. It’s time to come home.” Leandro smiled and cupped Othello’s cheeks. “It’s time for you both to come home. I’m not afraid anymore, Odette.” That voice was more feminine. “And I know that I’m strong enough to protect you, Donnie.” That voice was more masculine. But both voices belonged to Leandro, Othello’s twin. “So come home to us, okay?”

Othello didn’t know what they needed to do, but they knew they wanted to just hold their twin. Leandro was too far away and Othello’s limbs were heavy and tired. They pushed forwards, reaching out. It felt like they were being torn apart. But they couldn’t stop. They couldn’t leave their twin. They needed to hold their twin. Donnie needed to hold Leo. Odette needed to protect Odile. They needed their twin.

Donnie gasped as he felt something rip away from him. He collapsed into Leo’s waiting arms, panting and shivering. What had just happened?

“There you are, there’s my twin,” Leo cooed, stroking Donnie’s shell sweetly. “It’s okay, Donnie. I’ve got you.”

“O-Odette?” Donnie rasped out.

Leo chuckled softly. He nodded off to the side. “She’s got her hands full. Odile is feeling very clingy after that whole revelation.”

Donnie took a breath, then looked over. Odette, in all her shimmery, spiritual glory, was standing nearby. She was small, as short as Mikey at least, and she looked younger than Donnie had realised. Maybe twelve or thirteen at most. Her skin was almost pure white, like her feathers, and she had hints of purple accents in her dress.

She was crying, clinging to another child. That had to be Odile. Odile’s skin was such a dark brown they were almost as black as their feathers. Their blue eyes though, were piercing and vivid, even if they swam with tears. Their dress of black feathers had blue undertones but red accents. They were curled around Odette, being maybe an inch or two taller. They were looking so much older than Odette but at the same time, so young and scared.

“We did it, Dee. We brought them back together,” Leo murmured, his wings flapping a little as they puffed up. “And now we can all go home.”

Wait, wings?

“You still have wings.” Donnie’s voice hurt but he was determined to speak. His voice sounded different to how it had recently, but he couldn’t place why.

“So do you. Turns out some things didn’t change back.” Leo squeezed Donnie gently.

“Well done, my child.” A raspy voice echoed around the lake. It made Donnie’s skin prickle. Leo went tense, so tense it looked almost painful. “You’ve done exactly as I’ve asked. I’m so proud of you.”

In an instant, Leo span around and spread his wings, shielding not only Donnie but Odette and Odile from view. He let out an angry hiss and his black feathers puffed up, almost standing on end.

“I’ve done nothing for you. Leave my family alone.”

Donnie peered around Leo, trying to find the source of the voice. A large crow sat perched on his and Leo’s willow tree. Its cold red eyes stared hungrily down at them all.

On the shore, Donnie saw his brothers, his dad and Barry all knocked out. Had the Crow done that? If Donnie wasn’t feeling so weak, he’d already be on the offensive.

“But you have, my child.” Leo shuddered, his breathing getting heavier as the Crow spoke. “You’ve released the treasure from the Lake so I am finally able to claim it for myself.”

Leo took a shaky breath. “You won’t touch them. You won’t lay a single feather on any of them,” he growled.

“I won’t have to,” said the Crow. It flapped its wings and the branches of the willow tree shot forwards, wrapping themselves around Leo and pulling him towards the shore. Leo screamed and struggled but couldn’t break free. “I don’t need to hunt down my treacherous daughters myself. That’s why I have you.”
