#we must try or we'll feel guilty; yet we cannot accomplish what we set out to do

the way jjk has kids n teenagers always learning that the real world is harsh and unfair n you can't save everyone even if you want to. that our fate is to die, n we don't get to choose how it happens, n even if we dream of making it all work out, reality is cold n harsh.
that dreams are sometimes just dreams, and even if we put the work into it, we can still fail bc sometimes we're just not strong enough or not there fast enough...
the way it makes the adults, who have long since learned this lesson, always tell the kids that there's a reason why adults want to shield children from the real world, that it's not a sin to be a child, bc they want to impart the lessons of their hardships w/o forcing the kids through the same trauma.
the way they try to break the cycle only for their efforts to not always be fulfilled, instead leaving the kids with new burdens, different burdens, but burdens nonetheless...
#jjk#jujutsu kaisen#rewatched the first eight eps w/navi earlier n then caught up on the latest episode n i'm just like. MAN.....#but also. the way jjk says that even if our fate is to die our fate is to fail. we always have to try. it is never a sin to try#(but what do we do when the feeling of 'having to try' becomes a burden to the one trying?)#we must try or we'll feel guilty; yet we cannot accomplish what we set out to do#this never ending internal cycle of hope and hopelessness of needing to fight to honor those who cannot hope any longer#(whether because they have died or simply lost it somehow)#sisyphus must have been so full of hope to push that boulder up every day#where does he find it in him when faced with the perpetual cycle of failure?#it's admirable that he tries. it's admirable that in putting in effort he is trying to break the cycle.#but in trying to break the cycle there is only perpetuating its agonies; never any release
