Yknow I just clocked how much of a flawed character akira himekawa let's link be in four swords. Like he's a grade-a teenage boy at the start, cocky, "manly", very full of himself. Then you have red who thinks too much with his heart and doesn't act, blue who's got a very fragile sense of self and takes that out on everyone else, green who's thinks he's better than the others because he doesn't start these altercations, vio who thinks he's smarter than them all and is very selfish and isolated and of course shadow who was born to be evil and nasty.

Then we see them grow rapidly, red takes action finally against the poe and grabs and uses the ice rod to save them all from the lava, blue learns to respect the others he's working with, green learns about why teams work, and vio learns to communicate and let himself be heard to others.

Shadow has his entire thing about learning to determine his own fate and not be boxed by one person too, but also learns that he can give his companionship and allyship to those he chooses

It's just rlly interesting to me. Because this is the first time link is portrayed as genuinely kind of a bad person as opposed to the cutesy stars in their eyes heroes to be in the other mangas and in the games.
