im answering this first bcs im fairly certain the number of tenyang enthusiasts on tumblr is near zero considering i know nearly all of the tenyang writers on ao3. tenyang TO ME is fascinating because it has so many layers. yy is obsessed w ten. ten is obsessed w yy. they have this mutual obsession and also so much genuine CARE for each other. like... is it sexually charged??? yes. but it is also EMOTIONALLY Charged where they r so deeply RELIANT on each other it physically pains me.

my brutally honest opinion is that everybody does them Wrong when they make yangyang a character suffering from internalized homophobia and ten a character who is like a nympho sex god who has had sex with every member... I think it is so much more complex where ten is completely different w yy than he is w anyone else and i think HE's the one afraid of his feelings. yy INSISTS over and over again he is an adult and he is aware and intense and sexual and TEN is the one who wont interact with it (except when he DOES which is ......... something else entirely.)

so right off the bat, my mind goes to winwin and wonbin. my quiet pretty boys are so similar to be not only because of their demeanor and the way everyone dotes on them, but they really hold down the dance line despite not being the main dancers of their groups or getting much attention in that category - they can get down okay don’t play.

next, i’m gonna have to say sungchan would be great with xiaojun. originally, i’d say lucas and sungchan would be the perfect duo without hesitation (tall and loud line go crazy) but, sigh. however sungchan and xiaojun are also pretty similar imo, mostly bc of their mannerisms and appearance. they both initially seem tougher or intimidating but they’re actually sweethearts in disguise and love doting / teasing the other members. they’re also both just sexy as hell. i need them both actually.

i think kun and eunseok would be so fucking funny and quite compatible friends. it would be so awkward to watch them together, but despite their reserved personalities they love to have fun and just watch the others go batshit while always being their to be the hyung everyone can rely on lmao.

yangyang and sohee could be so cute, in my humble opinion. they’re both entertaining and have the ability to light up the room. they’re both experts at annoying the other members, but it’s impossible to stay mad at either of them. so if they ever meet, i’m sure it would be a fun time fr.

lastly, to no one’s surprise at all, we have our backbones of both groups — shotaro and ten. dancing gods, adorable smiles, teasing comments, sickeningly sweet behavior, and a very strong sense of influence within their respective groups are all traits these two share. i don’t think they got time to properly interact too much during sungtaro’s time in nct, but they were so cute in that big nct variety show thing.

reaction to wayv's who's the criminal episode: case of the missing director. spoilers for the case are below the cut.

i used to watch the cvariety show who's the murderer, based on the kvariety show crime scene. i stopped watching who's the murderer because the episodes got too long, but this wayv video is only an hour (which is in line with the original who's the murderer episodes) so i think the pacing will be ok!

the last time we had a crime show game with nct was nct crime zone...i wish they'd bring the series back, it's so much fun. but i know it probably takes a lot of time to set up since they need a writer to plan the story and clues and then they have to actually make the clues and hide them for the players.

Well said. Winwin and Minghao were so close during their debut days until Winwin debuted with WayV. Idk what happened they suddenly start to ignore each other, two Scorpio men can fuck in the hottest way but that's just it they can't get along for a long time. (From my experience lol) And I kinda love Winjun/Junwin chemistry but I think Winwin has better chemistry with Woozi, and Joshua than these two.

Taeyong always makes sure to bring you flowers every Friday. On his walk home from work he passes a small flower shop so its quite perfect. The owners have gotten to know him pretty well over time from him coming in. They make sure to always give the freshest and fullest bouquets on hand for him to give you. When the flowers begin to die, you guys spend the evening pressing a few petals to preserve. He came up with the idea of saving them and hanging them up in picture frames and creating a scrap book of them. He always includes a photo he took of you two and the fun things that happened that week. He gets excited when he thinks about looking back on it in the future.

Sehun is the guy to do everything for you. My nine would be

1. Doyoung of course as the main vocal and pr person

2. Taeyong coz he is the most beautiful dancer for me and also coz he is a show man and we need those in a kpop band

3. Jaehyunnie coz we need jaedo to sing together always, lolz

Jokes aside his vocals were the first ones I liked in NCT as a whole, he got me hooked to without you. Also I have talked about this a few times he's also my favourite member to watch fancams of... So he will be lead vocal and dancer

4. Hyuck... He's my ultimate with doyoung, I love his stage presence and he's the other member I watch all fancams of, I love his dancing and I love his happy vocals in almost all dreamies songs and even 127 songs

5. Mark, with Hyuck u always need a mark... Mark is the best rapper and best dancer in 127 and dreamies why wouldn't he be in my dream team. He also needs to be in the unit for it to be a hit, that's why sm puts him in all the units.

6. Johnny, I like him for his body and for his personality in 127 and NCT content. Most of his jokes aren't funny but for his body and face alot can be forgiven. He will be the visual

7. Xiaojun... The boy can dance and sing very well, he's also cute and would be perfect singing with jaedo

He's going to be my other main vocal and unlike doyoung the boy can dance too so he can stand Infront even after he sings 😊

8. Yangyang... The other wayv member I love and adore, he's a baby but to me personally he's a good dancer and a good rapper

He can change his looks well and I've a feeling under Taeyong the boy will grow alot more

I can see yangyang have a better future in my dream team

9. Jeno... Technically the only dreamies member but markhyuck are dreamies too

Jeno brings his face, dance and also his social skills. The boy seems like the most average Joe but has a temper and is very moody (doyoung has a type)

I would love him being in a band where he is close to almost half the band

Forget shipping and gay fluids in the air, voices need to match in a group, and Jae and Do's tones are very compatible and don't sound similar. It is possible to mistake Doyoung for Taeil, Yuta for Taeil, Jungwoo for Doyoung in places (and those who make lyric videos make such mistakes regularly), but this is not the case with JaeDo (except maybe a very narrow area in falsetto register?).

Differing voices bring diversity and more texture to a song, but they also introduce the problem of cohesion. Which is evident with 127 in many songs. The level of technical skill plays a role in it, but also the tone of voice.

i do think they have an interesting dynamic! this is my first time actually articulating what i think about kunten so bear with me 😅

in general, i do think they fit the 'bickering parents' archetype. but as in all cases, there are ✨nuances✨. wayv are in a weird spot (which is honestly how i start off 90% of my discussions on wayv but that's another can of worms). kun is the leader, but ten is the most experienced, professionally speaking. ten debuted first, and the members definitely respect his skills as a performer. sometimes ten almost feels a bit untouchable because the others respect him so much.

i think kun and ten kind of hold co-leader positions, but in a weird way. let me explain lol. i think that kun will actually defer to ten for many things, particularly things, particularly professional matters. on the other hand, i don't think ten cares for the responsibilities that come with being a leader (in terms of administrative stuff, or just being there for guidance if the younger ones need him). it feels like their place in wayv is that the group will listen to ten when ten has opinions, but if he doesn't have opinions, then kun will take care of the group. so that was kind of how i see them in the group dynamic but i think it also kind of bleeds into kun and ten's relationship with one another.

there's the ongoing gag that kun is the geriatric loser leader and ten is the cool hip hyung despite them being the same age 😅 but i think it kind of reflects how ten is kind of the free spirit in terms of social obligations whereas kun takes all of this *gestures vaguely* very seriously. kun will always be there as leader regardless of what happens.

with all that ten's doing, i do think that he will outgrow a group soon (maybe he wouldn't outgrow it so fast if he was promoted the actual kpop way, but that's a whole other discussion). but something makes me think that as independent as he is, it's also to his benefit to have a leader to come back to, even if he doesn't need kun's guidance like the other members will. he wouldn't be able to do all his independent promotions if he had to take care of the group.

in terms of what kun sees in ten, i think kun…appreciates all of ten? he sees ten not just as the great performer that is but also that gremlin man and he appreciates that that is ten as he is, even if he's just going to give kun shit all day.

i feel like ten is destined for great things and kun is the one who stays home (though realistically speaking, kun is also pursuing his own dreams, just that he'll continue to be wayv's leader as long as they need him). ten is the cool hip exciting one and kun is the boring reliable one, but maybe sometimes ten needs the boring reliable guy to ground him sometimes when things get tiring, and maybe kun is happy being that person for someone who seems so independent.
