Did you know?

If you did Kahl's mission every week without fail and bought every single Archon Shard available (this excludes the first 3 weeks of completing Kalh's weekly, since you cannot buy an Archon Shard from his store until max rank) and keeping the 15 spare Stock after being able to purchase them, you'd be able to buy out Ticker's shop exactly this week? It's true!

I know, because I did exactly that. You'd also keep a spare 10 Stock. I bought Styanax because the second instance in which he was given for free was a lot of time after I'd already subsumed him.

I'm too lazy to math out all the stats, but that'd net you exactly 95 Archon Shards up to this week, if you include the ones from the Archon Hunts you should be doing along the way. I have 96 because I got a free one from a Twitch drop.

how were you introduced to TOA? im an avid skimmer of the tellius tag on tumblr and saw toa crop up a few times in the past but the concept of fodlan as a setting fundamentally scared me for a good while because it was the only fe game i wasnt even remotely familiar with. then one winter holiday in 2022 i saw neffis leonardo crop up in the tag and i was like lmfao it would be fucking hilarious if i started writing edward again right and then i blacked out for the next 12 hours and suddenly im here.

do you believe you have a type of character you gravitate towards writing? reiterating this from the last time i filled this out: little guys and pensive freaks. i also fundamentally like characters who experience internal conflict of interests between their morality and their loyalty/duty/other social trappings. its tasty!

do you have characters or types of characters you don’t think you can handle writing, but wish you could? i love digging deep into lore and piecing it together even if its not immediately evident and a bit fragmented (its the soulsborne enjoyer in me). BUT if i need to do this for a main or major character with a bajillion dialogue and context clues strewn across three playthroughs of a game and i could easily overlook things i would be a little too scared of getting soemthing wrong. "oh x loves orange juice" "WRONG x said as a one off in the middle of this heavy story segment that he hates orange juice and prefers strawberry milk actually" i would fucking die. i would die

what kind of scenes, situations etc do you believe you enjoy writing the most? UNRELIABLE NARRATION. shit you look at and go "hm that aint whats going on rn at all". love that shit. i try to not overuse it but i love when it becomes more evident midway through a scene. good stuff. i also love writing impulsive stupid responses and vividly descriptive scenes, but also i love writing affection and devotion in general, even if exceptionally gooey and cavity-inducing, even if ill-advised and misplaced. there's so much more i can add here but i love writing i love writing with people i love writing with y'all. love and peace.

and violence. i used to be scared of fight scenes but now i love thinking in those milliseconds between the violence. flurries and slurries of blood. can i rip more shit apart pretty please

do you have any scenario in mind for your muse(s) that gets you thinking “man i hope i get to write this one day”? [stuffs my fist in my mouth and screams]

incredibly loosely speaking. i want edward to realise he's been a bit fucked up actually and have to sit in that thought instead of shrugging past it as usual. i want chad to sit with someone and just connect with them so they don't feel as alone (yes this has happened i just love when this happens). i want denning to forcibly feel an emotion, and whether they get better or worse from it might depend entirely on their company.

favorite TOA-related memories? sorry that i keep bringing up edwards 37.5 damage astra during the final fight of apollyon ouranos i just can't stop thinking about it. that's so much fucking damage. that said i loved banding together against the impossible and FUCKING WINNING

the wiki entry for Original Loid has this in the trivia

okay sure, but I think it's way more than "very likely" that Loid and Albrecht were romantic partners. Every single time Loid refers to him it's as "my Albrecht". He tore up Albrecht's diary because Albrecht leaving hurt him so much.

one of the last things Albrecht does before fucking off into the past in the opening cinematic is gently stroking Loid's face while Loid struggles to hold back tears

Albrecht's diary page, that Loid tore out and hid, is full of Albrecht saying that Loid was his foundation and emotional support and he was unkind to him and he regrets not having an even more intimate relationship with him.

these two mens' loves for each other shine so brightly you could navigate a ship with them. like, sure, it's technically true that we don't get explicit confirmation, just implications and context. but "very likely" feels like the understatement of the year

not to be a nerd™ bur i am going to give you her name etymology (totally not because i don't have enough facts about her to give shhh)

there she is!! everyone's favorite politically dubious leader!

tsítian is from a combination of ancient greek tísis (“retribution”) and proto-sino-tibetian *sring ("to live; green; raw"). the thought process was i liked the name titania (and her design was influenced by titania warframe) and wanted to use it, and i wanted a life/nature connection in it because it fits her thematically.

loukázo is a combination of proto-italic *loukēō ("be light, shine") and greek phantázo (“phantom; dream; fantasy”). i saw "lucent brood" from destiny, went "that's a cool name! i'm going to steal it!" and i did; for the other part i wanted some connection to ghosts because, again, it fits thematically ("elaborate" "no 💜").

she also has a connection to ayulos (aka not ballas #1), but they don't actually have any sort of relationship in canon, aside from "wlw on mlw harassment."

So, I play Warframe.

Warframe released this warframe wayback thing on their website that allows users to see their overall stats from playing across the years.

Here's mine!

Trivia Time!

Warframes

- Equinox was the first frame I ever brought, I used her almost exclusively until I bought Ivara. I was a walking buff generator with Equinox.

- I am an Ivara Main, stealth is my jam! I have cheesed Shadow Stalker, the arenas on Sedna (and Kayla De Thaym), most bosses now that I think about it (not counting Vay Hek "Turkey Mech")

- My best friend actually bought me Ember Prime, back when her parts cost a fortune, before she was nerfed into the ground. I liked running around with World on Fire obliterating everything... then they reworked her because the devs don't like "Press button to win" strats.

Weapons

- Ah, the Tigris Prime, my "bang, you're dead" gun that has served me faithfully throughout most of my run in Warframe. I'm vision impaired, I suck at shooters, so the high damage shotgun was perfect. Then I made it silent! Ivara with this thing is awesome.

- Grakata! Ok, yeah these were fun to use, and Clem is just a cool character, they were my go-to secondary.

- My wonderful, twirling, smacky-stick of doom, The Galatine Prime. This thing was a beast stat-wise and since I primarily use melee, I kicked arse. Tempo Royale on this made me a walking blender, and yes, paired with Ivara I did even more damage. I'd cheese sentients on Lua with this sword while my friend tanked all the damage.

Other Stuff

- Nowadays, I run the Daikyu for my primary, because I like bows and I have an awesome status build with a riven. Secondary is kind of up in the air, either a kitgun or whatever new weapon looks good. Currently giving the Epitaph a whirl. As for Melee, I used Zaws, I have a few polearms, a dagger, and my favourite, a scythe that functions like a heavy weapon, which means more spinning with Tempo Royale.

- Still an Ivara main! I run a maxed efficiency build with high duration and a bit of power strength so I stay stealthed for ages and provide a ton of damage with Artemis Bow.

- I also main Inaros, purely for the insane amount of tankiness the frame has. I call mine "Dog God" because of the anubis helmet I have on him. He's the frame I pull out when I do high level content that I want done fast without worrying about squishy frames like Ivara.

- My friend and I do have a Clan, The Helix Force. I made the clan glyph/logo thingy by cobbling together icons from the games in paint, it uses the focus icon and lotus icon to make a purple flower with a yellow centre.

- Stopped playing back when Heart of Deimos dropped because holy shit was that broken. On the bright side, I still have plenty of content to plow through now that the bugs are fixed. Downside is that the Heart of Deimos colour palette causes eye strain. Which is a shame, I want the infested fox damnit.

- I play on PS4!

“Can you imagine what the Empress could do with a destroyer class ship? Fully crewed? Capable of taking out galleons and transports?” Punk asks, dazed as he stares up at the clear blue sky. “I’m pretty sure the only thing that’s ever stopped her was that she physically cannot go after the big shit with a tiny archwing. And even then it’s iffy, because I know she’s done it during the Old War and stuff.”

“I don’t want to imagine it,” Chic answers instantly. “Let’s not imagine it. And that’s a lie, because really, the only thing holding her back is Alpha being a generally good guy who likes to fish and doesn’t have any interest in waging war on the rest of the universe.”

The tenno, in question, is currently fishing downstream from them. No one can tell from his expression or tone of voice, but the last they checked in with him he seemed fine. For all purposes, he seemed content at least. Probably not unhappy with his self-appointed role of provider for the entire population of Cetus.

“Good thing she doesn’t have a clan,” Punk says.

“She has a clan.”

Chic and Punk yelp, starling up and turning onto Hades.

Punk jabs his finger at the other tenno, “Stop. Hey, bud? Hey bud? You’re pulling an Alpha on us. It’s not appreciated. Go fuck on off with that, okay, bud? Okay?”

“Hades. Judge,” Chic has a hand in her thick pink hair, “Don’t fucking start in on that. I will throw you into the radiated water and make sure Alpha doesn’t go in after you. We’ve got the one walking jump-scare, we don’t need two.”

“Sorry! Sorry!” Judge rocks back on his heels, hands held up in defense. “I thought you knew I was here. You accepted my squad request and everything.”

Punk and Chic quickly tap back into their warframe systems to check on their squad information.

Both Persephone and Hades have been added.

“It was probably Alpha,” Chic says, “We haven’t been paying attention for a while. Where’s your girl?”

Hades looks around, uncertain, before waving an arm in a general direction. “Uh. Around?”

“Ominous. Sounds about right.”

“I’m sure we’ll know she’s coming if we hear screaming or gunfire.”

“Or maybe we won’t who knows, we’ll just hit her up in the squad comms. Alright. Focus. Empress has a clan?”

“Yeah. You didn’t know?” Hades tilts his head, blinking. “You’ve known her longer.”

“I always thought she was solo except for Alpha. If there was a clan who had her on their roster I feel like they’d be pretty well known. You know. Bragging rights?”

“She’s the only one in it. Except for Alpha,” Hades says. “But they’ve got a full dojo and everything. She’ll definitely be able to get a dry dock installed at some point. Maybe not right away, but eventually.”

“Okay, but how do you know this stuff?” Both tenno look at Hades expectantly. Because they have known her longer than he has. And they didn’t know this bit of trivia this entire time.

“Oh, we were out doing some hijack missions and in between drops she said she needed to stop by her dojo really quick. I went with her so we didn’t have to reform the squad afterwards. It’s pretty nice in there.”

“It’s a full dojo? Labs and everything?”

“Yeah, and everything is fully researched. She let me take a look and copy some blueprints my clan didn’t have,” Hades’ head bobs as he talks. “You could ask her or Alpha to take you and show you around. They don’t mind. I mean, we’re friends, so I don’t think they’d mind.”

“Are they really the only two people in it?”

“Yeah. Empress said she made it because she didn’t want other people inviting her to theirs. She thought it’d be unfair, because then Alpha would join, and it wouldn’t be right for the both of them to be in a clan. Especially since they don’t have any interest in controlling rails and dark sectors,” Hades explains. “So the two of them are in their own clan so no one asks them about it.”

“Woah. That’s smart. They have all the research? All of it?”

“That doesn’t sound right. There’s only two of them. And all the search takes huge amounts of resources and credits.”

“But those two are Alpha and Empress.” Hades points downstream to the small mountain of steadily growing fish. “Between the two of them they’ve definitely got the focus and drive. Alpha’s feeding his own population single handedly at this point.”

That’s very true.

“So. I guess Empress might take to the stars and then promptly take all the stars,” Punk says, grinning. “Hey. You think she’d let me on her crew? I’d want to see this all happening in real time.”

“To slingshot you at other ships and hope you do all your damage and unleash your bad luck over there, probably.” Chic rolls her eyes. “You think she’ll let me use her ship to haul cargo? I’m using a third party cargo service right now and this could probably cut down on my credits.”

“You should still pay her for letting you use her ship.”

“I mean on the security costs,” Chic says. “I will definitely still pay her for use of her ship to transport goods. But now this way the security cost would be bundled in. No one’s going to go attacking the Empress’ ship.”

“Sentients might.”

“They might, and then they’d be dead. And if they mess up her ship then she’ll go after them to carve out the difference in their blood. You guys do remember that’s why she got so famous, right? Carving sentients to pieces?”

Another good point.

“Well. If the recent…shit going on around Jupiter is anything to go by, she’s going to have a lot of new sentients to fuck up,” Punk grimaces. “I’m surprised she hasn’t parked her ship in Jupiter’s orbit, honestly.”

Who are we and what do we do? [Oops] was formed in 2011 for a small group of Guild Wars 1 players through tumblr, and since then we've grown steadily and can boast a relaxed, mature, LGBT friendly, multi-game community.

Our guild is built around good atmosphere and friendly conversation and the general rule of "don't be a dick". Its not a difficult rule really, but for clarity's sake, the full rules are available on our forum. The GW2 guild is based on NA servers (Blackgate)!

With Path of Flame coming up so soon, and so many of our veteran members returning to the game, there has never been a better time to come and join in on the fun!

We have two main guild events each year, that our leaders put a lot of their time and resources into, along with several more frequent or out of game happenings that we love to chat about and experience.

i had a dream where i was at a gun museum and in the gift shop they had a real nice hardcover ‘art of warframe’ book for $45 ???

it had high quality renders of the frames and guns and enemies and npcs, plus a lot of concept art with design notes and trivia and things

the cover was this real nice harsh-light black & white render of what the book claimed was excalibur umbra, and the title was spot glossed behind him in a pale silver (kind of like he was stepping in front of it)

dream me was real surprised but of course bought it immediately

Video: Mike Perry Scores Parking Lot KO Netflix Party — This Google Chrome extension allows you and your friends to simultaneously stream a movie or television show on Netflix. One user can start a chat room and send an invitation link to friends. The best (or worst) feature is the shared play/pause button. If one person pauses the program it pauses for everyone. That means you never have to worry about syncing up your viewing. Can’t make a screening? Proximity just announced an upcoming digital stream featuring a well-rounded roster including Kaskade and Alison Wonderland. Insomniac is currently airing 24/7 livestream rewinds of major EDM festivals including EDC Las Vegas, EDC Mexico and Hard Summer. If DJs aren’t for you, just about every musician from John Legend to Keith Urban to Brian May of Queen is live-streaming solo concerts from their homes on Instagram Live. Pub Trivia Night — Big Drop Brewing Co. in Ipswich is hosting a weekly “Living Room Pub Quiz” on Tuesdays. The hosts ask questions on YouTube livestream, you write down your guesses and the hosts give out the answers. For those of you who play Warframe, here’s some trivia - the Nightwave Intermission NPC is based on Lynne Thigpen’s character in the 1979 film “The Warriors.” In the film, Thigpen plays a radio DJ who announces the hit on The Warriors and is only seen from the nose down. Later, she announces that the alert is called off and salutes The Warriors with the song “In the City” by Joe Walsh.

Valve, Lasers & G.I.Joe with special guest Shaun from Comics2Movies

Well do we have a surprise for you all this week, oh my goodness, you are getting a bumper edition with a special guest appearance. Now if I was nasty I would just leave it at that, but cliffhangers lead to binge watching an entire season normally. So, in a sense of harmonious respect we are only building the tension with this prattle, it is less irritating apparently. Honestly though don’t you just hate it when those jokers asking questions on trivia shows drag it out then go to a commercial break? We’ll be right back after this message….

Okay, so down to business, first up is our special guest Shaun from Comics2Movies fresh back from San Diego Comic-Con… Yep and he has some awesome news for us also. Who did he meet, what did he do, what has he got planned for us? You will need to listen in to find out.

Next up we have the Professor with news about a monumental stuff up due to ambiguity in the terms of a contract from Valve relating to Steam. Yep, due to some over sight or sheer stupidity a detected vulnerability to Steam was ignored and the researchers involved were treated pretty badly. Which let’s face it is kind of the dumbest thing you can do right. But if you would like to know more we have it, and you will laugh at some of the comments involved in this topic. We did.

Then we have Buck with the development of a new process of welding ceramics that has major implications for all kind of endeavors. This process means that the component technologies for everything ranging from pace makers to an endless variety of circuitry can now be ceramic. This is espically awesome, this is another of those ground breaking moments that might slip by unnoticed by some people. But the changes that will result from this in years to come will be immense.

Then we have the DJ to talk about the reboot of G.I.Joe to help cash in further on an already established brand, or is it? That is a question that arises, similar to the recent reboot of Ghost In The Shell: Arise. Like what we did there, cool huh, and no the Professor didn’t write that Segway, honestly. But this is certainly a moment when having to crusty old blokes on the show is interesting. We round out with the usual shout outs, remembrances, birthdays, and events of interest. As always take care of yourselves, look out for each other and stay hydrated.
