Scarecrow Fangs

unpopular opinion, but i did not like these. They're way too expensive, imo and the molding solution sucks and is a nightmare to work with. the fangs themselves are alright.

Spirit Halloween

It's surprisingly good! i used these until i broke them - they use thermoplastic for molding, which i think should be the standard for fangs. It's far easier to work with. the plastic is cheaper than Scarecrow, but they feel solid and are a more realistic color (at least for me)

Monster High

Oh my ghoul, i love these. These fangs are a bit on the smaller size, which is useful if you're going for subtle. and of course, being monster high, i'm all for them. i mean, that case is adorable

again, these use thermoplastic. Though its imortant to note not to put the fangs themselves in hot water while you're molding them- i warped one by accident. regardless, they are so comfortable and resilient. my second favorites.

we've all seen that video of that girl using these in like 2008 and wanted to be her. at least i did... but im sad to report that these fangs dont work on my anatomy. they mold to your back molars with thermoplastic, and when you press on the bar, the fangs come down. these fit simular to a retainer as they just sit above your teeth.

i, however, am missing one of those molars and cannot line it up right to use them. (never beating the kentuckian stereotype)

I had never heard of this brand before someone posted about these on tiktok. i bought them immediately (i am not immune to propaganda, and neither are you), and i gotta say... They're my favorite I've tried.

I got the large ones; and let me tell you, they're massive. definitely not for subtle vamp vibes. They're sharp, too! That's a plus for me, not for everyone, i assume. and they mold with thermoplastic! they come with way more than you need (which you can use to make more fangs if you desire)

they do come in smaller sizes as far as I've seen, but i haven't tried those yet.

I'm getting a turtle in abt 36 hours and feel unprepared so if anyone has experience with turtle care, please give some advice !! I've done a lot of research but just have some questions I can't find answers to. Details under the cut bcuz I'm anxious and have a lot of questions 😭

I'm getting a turtle this weekend. She's a 2 year old red eared slider. She was given to me by her previous owner who was no longer able to care for her, and as it was an urgent situation I've had about 4 days to learn absolutely everything that there is to know about turtle/RES care.

I don't know much of her current situation, but she's in a 60 gallon tank right now. The owner is giving me the tank and filter (though I don't know what kind of filter) and potentially some setup stuff, but I'm not really sure what. So, I'm starting at a baseline of zero (plus tank, turtle, and filter) and working from there.

So far I've gotten a water heater from Walmart, although reading the reviews after I got back home, I discovered it was actually really bad quality and basically kills any aquarium that it touches. So... I looked for more higher rated water heaters, and I'm ordering a Cobalt Equatics Neo-Glass 200w heater, and a plastic heater protector to prevent glass shattering. Will the turtle be okay for a few days without heated water? It's arriving Tuesday 20th, and the temperature where I live is around high 60sF-low 80sF right now (during the day). If not, are there solutions to not having a water heater for a short while? (Granted, if the prev owner didn't have a water heater in the first place, I think it's probably okay until I get one, but still!)

I know ideally, I should fill the tank up to the full capacity (60 gal) and have an over-tank basking dock. However, from the photos I've received (shown below) it looks like she's only been in about half tank water with a floating basking dock. I want to ensure she's able to swim around and get to the surface without any strain; how should I go about slowly increasing the water levels?

Substrate: Gravel is too small for her and I'm scared she'll eat them. River rocks, while cool and natural-looking, I've heard are difficult to clean and can be quite loud. So I've decided on either doing a bare bottom tank, or sand substrate. If it's bare bottom, I feel like she'd be bored — I don't quite have all the decorations yet, so it would be a pretty sparse and empty tank — though I know sand makes it more difficult to clean as well. Thoughts?

Decorations: RES's are known for breaking stuff and biting whatever they can get their mouth around. Knowing this, I haven't gotten any decorations yet. I would like to be able to give her decorations she can play with but not have the risk of her eating and swallowing fake plants or whatever. What decoration brands/types are recommended?

Feeding: since she's 2, and still a juvenile (I think), she's mainly been eating protein pellets and freeze dried bugs. I got some basic protein pellets and freeze dried mealworms at Walmart. I've seen conflicting ratios for pellets-veggies-fruit (some saying 50%/40%/10%, others saying 25/65/10, etc) What sort of a nutrition ratio should i be giving a 2 y/o female red eared slider? I do know that I should be giving her no more than the size of her head, and potentially putting her in a second tank for feeding if possible (and making sure to remove any excess food after 15 minutes). Also, for a 2 y/o, I think it's every-day feedings, but if I'm wrong please lmk

Finally here is just a list of all the other things I currently have for the tank, minus the tank and filter itself because I don't know what type they are:

2 lamps, with 13W Aqua Culture Compact Fluorescent bulb for reptiles (UVB), and Aqua Culture 60W incandescent basking bulb.

Digital water thermometer.

Aqua safe water conditioner (I have well water with no chemical filtration, so I think it's not necessary, but bought one anyway.)

"Seawolf: The Pirate's Curse" (2005) review

Surprisingly, honestly... why did I enjoy this? I guess after a couple of major misses for me in the form of "The Kidnapping" and "Beyond Forgiveness", my expectations were appropriately low, but this one actually had some likable characters and humor, and that always manages to rope me in. I have a soft spot for fun, silly action fare like this bc of childhood shows like "The Greatest American Hero", I think.

So, the title never makes any sense... what was it supposed to mean? what curse?

First and foremost, I must say TIG is looking oh-so-very pretty and rugged here- the necklaces, the bandanas, the curly-q hair, the tank tops, the sweaty, the ARMMMSSSS 😩

Initially had absolutely no clue what was going on in the beginning; a bunch of people with weird ass outfits in the dark and I was just like please no don't let that be him in the damn fucking cape and eyepatch and o n e l e g; I was like he can't possibly have one leg the whole time, right?? 🤨

But yeah I was definitely experiencing the "dear God what did I get myself into, cheers to another awful mess" 🫡🥂

Why does half the audio sound dubbed (particularly everything that comes out of Rachel's mouth)? Also props to Rachel for being the most emotionally unaffected person ever bc her reactions were so disproportionately calm to what would happen if my bf was constantly disappearing overseas and totaled my gorgeous pink car

We're getting some very Max Parrish-type hooting and hollering up in here; a concise summary of Thorpe is that he's basically if Max had a boat and was an alcoholic instead of a drug addict

We get another hallmark of TIG's movies with a slew of incredibly cringe one-liners that elicit a physical reaction of pain from me, but for every few there was actually a genuinely funny one here and there, so I'll allow it this time...

The whole "I'm a pirate, my father was a pirate, etc." speech had me ROLLING and NOT IN THE WAY THE WRITERS INTENDED I THINK BC HUH??

When he met Helene in that random room full of paintings I was sure we were supposed to take it that the mission was smth art theft-related. but no she just has a passion for maximalist design ig.

Even more hilarious how the Colonel, who has had nothing but hatred and murderous intent for Thorpe throughout, is just so touched by Thorpe's being a ✨ big softie with morals ✨ that his vengeful compulsions are soothed and he's content with taking the gold like "hey bro, we're square now <3" and just fuckin walks away

Good on them for giving the treasure back to Mexico

Honestly, I think they could have leaned even more into the humorous aspect and the treasure hunt part of the film; made it a bit more of a National Treasure/Indiana Jones sort of thing, and I definitely would have liked some more character development, esp. for the sidekicks and villains, but overall, I award this film an unexpected 6/10. The Bloody Wallpaper

The Red and Gold Gala – the most prestigious event of the social season, hosted at the Royal Bethlehem itself – is approaching quickly and you are invited – to work for minimum wage. While you grind your teeth and keep up the ever-friendly smile, you get to know the guests who attend this gala, as well as the service workers behind the scenes, who are quite literally fighting for their lives in the fast reaches of the Royal Bethlehem. And just when you think your suffering is drawing to a close, the wallpaper is ripped off and you find out that nothing is what it seems. This celebrates 100 Exceptional Stories, and it is a celebration indeed.

MY RATING: ★★★★★ COMMUNITY RATING: none yet A surreal ride through the cosmic and existential horrors hidden in the service industry. With brilliant writing, great humour and a stunning amount of content, this ES is well worth its money. Main Focus: Royal Bethlehem, Parabola Secondary Focus: Society, Bohemians

Opening

You’re enjoying the life of a London socialite. Everyone keeps talking about the Red and Gold Gala, as dread creeps up on you – could it be that you’re… not invited? It’s getting so bad, you even start dreaming about the event. Then, finally, the Manager of the Royal Bethlehem invites you – to work. But there’s a talking lizard on the desk, so you’re a bit distracted when negotiating.

The opening is by far the weakest part of this ES. Any character who is not a dedicated socialite will feel like they’ve came down with a sudden bout of snobbery. On the plus-side, it’s over rather quickly. For my characters, I ignore the hyping up of the Red and Gold Gala and pretend the story only starts with the strange dreams. Because from there on, it makes sense for all sorts of characters to get roped up in this.

I would recommend this ES to any player and character alike. I can’t imagine someone not enjoying this (except the characters, those will suffer tremendously.) The Red and Gold Gala, as well as this ES, is one huge celebration of Fallen London. Players who are very invested in the lore will get an additional enjoyment out of this confluence of some of the Neath’s biggest players.

Review

This ES is an absolute treat! If asked what my all time favourite would be, I’d answer “The Bloody Wallpaper” without skipping a beat. It’s Chandler Groover at his very best – a maelstrom of surreal, colourful writing that evokes emotions powerful enough that you’ll forget about the actual story being told.

Due to it being the 100th ES and riding the hype of Mask of the Rose’s release only a month earlier, this ES is outstanding in several aspects. The most obvious of which is its length. It is a chonker. 80 actions at least, but with all the free actions it has, it feels like two to three times the length of an average ES. I broke up both my play-throughs, and still managed spend four hours on one sitting alone.

The length also reflects in the structure of this ES. It has two very distinct parts, separated at around the three-quarter mark. In addition to that, it offers half a dozen mini-storylines which you can explore at your own pace.

The by far best part about this ES is the craft, in my opinion. This story sits firmly in the horror genre – people get casually killed, you are repeatedly told how utterly unimportant and replaceable you are, and at the climax there’s a good dash of body horror in it as well. But the prose has a matter of fact-ness to it that states “just another Tuesday at Walmart” with a shrug and moves on. It starts out in a cynical, resigned tone which pivots to a desperate last claim for self-worth as reality falls apart more and more.

As said, you are a service-worker at the Red and Gold Gala, where you have to keep the guests happy and the party running almost entirely by yourself. “Who hurt you, Chandler?” I found myself asking more than once. The ES uses its prose, its story and even its mechanics to make you feel utterly powerless. As u/perkoperv123 put it: “My favorite part of FL, the thing that makes it unique tonally, is this exact kind of banal horror. […] This ES is a powerlessness fantasy. You're no longer a Person of Importance. You're barely a person at all. You are the help. If a guest demands the impossible, make it happen anyway.”

As a consequence of this complete lack of agency, there are no roleplay options. The entire ES has two decisions to make, and only one of them matters a little. On all other cards there is exactly one option to pick – whatever makes the guest happy. So you spend a lot of time navigating the mechanical side of this ES to get the orders and items to the guests. It requires a lot of clicking, which feeds into the feeling of futility. I’ve rarely seen FL (or other games) leverage its gameplay to enhance its narrative like this.

What the ES lacks in roleplay it makes up for in freedom to explore. From the beginning on, almost the entire hotel is open to you. Guests have requests, but it’s up to you in which order you serve them. A timer is running throughout the ES, and it will trigger certain events, which generates a false but effective sense of time-pressure. Despite it, there is no missable content.

Community opinion on this one is more divided than usual. Players either loved or hated it. An overwhelming majority praised it very much for the same reasons I listed above. But the people who didn’t enjoy it mostly pointed to the grindy and dull mid-game, as well as the disrespect against their character. And while these aspects are very much intended by the author, I can totally understand why that would take the fun away for some players.

Which brings me to the conclusion. In the end, your character has been used and abused by a power they can never compete with, and that couldn’t care less about what they have to say. Yes, the powerlessness might have been a nightmare, but in the real Fallen London, you might just be as disposable as you were when you had to wait on the most self-important people of London. To me, this downer of an ending didn’t really hit hard because I was still high on the prose (and my characters have an inferiority complex).

In total, I massively enjoyed this ES, and I will continue to recommend it to anyone, if only for the added content. A bit more art and half a soundtrack, and other companies would have sold this as a stand-alone graphic novel.

Additional Thoughts (Full Spoilers)

Only in Fallen London can the author pull the “but it was all a dream”-card and get a better product as a result.

I’m rarely moved by written horror these days. We’ve had 2020. But when the Gala was finally about to begin, when the Manager lead my character into the dining room and all other employees were either dead or mysteriously gone, I could feel my heartbeat in my ears. And the suspense!

Then, when the wallpaper came down, and I genuinely didn’t know any longer what happened, I was worried for my character. But I also couldn’t stop myself, I needed to know where this went.

Then, when all was said and done, and my character sat across the manager once more, I could feel his exhaustion. (story-time: Emanuel, my main FLPC, is stoic, devoid of any emotions, and can take tremendous amounts of abuse with a smile and a polite ‘thank you.’ And usually, I don’t feel bad for him. But when he sat there, I couldn’t help but think “you did not deserve this.”)

And all this because of tax evasion. (Who hurt you, Chandler?) I know he has his fans, but the Manager has very much cemented his place in my list of enemies now. As has the Northbound Parliamentarian. Can’t look at her card the same way as before now.

My favourite guest has to be the Red-Handed Prince. Not only am I is Emanuel a hopeless simp for the red-handed Queen, but if you present him with toxic and thinly veiled pillow talk from a good-looking guy in a suit, he looses all mental faculties. I think the Red-Handed Prince, who claims to be the Bloody-Handed Queen’s son, has not been mentioned yet in her list of avatars, so that’s an interesting addition.

And of course, there’s everyone’s favourite, the Butcher’s Boy. Not only is this a child who actually has two (2!) living parents, but he is also an absolute sweetheart and deserves nothing but the best.

The appearance of October, while stunningly beautiful, went entirely over my head at the time of playing, as did probably many other things. But I couldn’t care, I loved the ride (which is a statement I could make to many of the critiques of this ES.)

11/10 would recommend.

You can't claim that you don't care about making money, and that you don't care about chart success, if you're making it so that your fans have to buy several copies of your new album before they're allowed the chance to buy a signed copy, or if you're discounting your album by its 3rd day of release.

Making grant statements about how great of an activist you are because you don't do multiple album variants unlike 'other artists' and your vinyls are eco-friendly, and then a month later have 3X the vinyl variants than the person with the 2nd most vinyl variants on the charts as we speak, plus all the other variants in CD form and Digital form. Or how despite the claim about eco-friendliness, you're in Walmart signing the plastic film on the vinyls on the shelves so people can't ever open their albums and use them and are therefore pressured into buying another copy they can actually use.

The music industry is a business, and you are an artist and need to put out art so that everything in your business functions. It's okay to just play the game the way it's meant to be played without trying to pat yourself on the back with fake activism and moral superiority.

And another artist releasing a remix to try and keep their song in the Top 10 is not done in any way to throw shade at you. And for your fans to take it personal and throw a fit and act like this random remix is good to somehow ruin your debut is pathetic. You chose bad timing, and everyone was aware that you were not going to out debut someone's 5th week at #1 on the chart.

Your fans cursing and wishing harm on other women because they dared to make a deluxe version of their album available the same week, or released remixes of their songs, or released voice memos of how their songs were made, or released a new vinyl variant of their own, or released a music video, etc...

Someone wise once said, "People who act like they 'don't care' are lying," in reference to charts, sales, and reviews.

Just be honest about it. You want the charts and the money and the accolades, just like everyone else. You don't have to hide behind fake activism.

The Jakks Bruno doll arrived at my local Walmart, and being a fan of Encanto, and because Bruno has a design I almost never see made into a doll, I knew had to get at least one.

The dolls are $13 USD.

This won't be a super in-depth review, but if any of y'all have any questions about him I don't mention here, I'll be happy to answer.

Overall I have found Jakks Encanto dolls to be very very nice for the price point, and have really liked their sculpts.

As far as his outfit goes, it's about what I expect for the price point, especially given he's a boy doll + he has a lot more fabric involved in his outfit than the girls do.

As such, to cut corners his ruana is unhemmed, and the shirt/pants is a jumpsuit is made of a very cheap, very stiff, plastic-y feeling polyester.

On the plus side, I do think you could easily customize the ruana to look very nice if you wanted to. hem it, trim off the fake fringe and sew on real fringe, and it would save you the effort of replicating that pattern. The hood is finished nicely already.

The jumpsuit I don't really like at all. The top is already wearing out from me taking it off and putting it back on again. I don't think it would hold up to being played with very much.

His head sculpt is very interesting, even if it's not completely accurate, I do like it for it's uniqueness, but it also looks a bit big? Even compared to the Jakks Mirabel head, it seems wrong. It especially looks strange when comparing him to my custom Bruno.

His body proportions also look really weird.

Like, it can be hard to get a feel for these sorts of details in the movie, but I don't think Bruno had overly long gorilla arms? Why is his neck so short? Compare this:

That's just not accurate at all. Such weird decisions.

All in all, he's a little disappointing compared to how good their other Encanto dolls are.

That said, my custom Bruno needed a better pair of shoes so at least I got that covered lol.

If one was not a customizer, he's a passable option for now, but hopefully we'll see a better option in the near future. Maybe the Disney Store will release a version soon.

It seems to be 75 fans who are the most insistent it can't possibly be about Taylor (trust me, most are biased against her). Plus, both in the 75 and Swift fandoms, fans will happily argue that neither could have written songs about anyone they cannot point to in a photo. Frankly, it's bizarre.

Not even saying 'When We Are Together' is about Taylor, but I have yet to hear a good argument as to why it isn't. I'd love to, though! I'm open-minded.

Lastly, if "Slut!" is cyclical, then perhaps 'When We Are Together' is, too, in that "the day they both got canceled" hasn't happened yet...?

A thing about binding…

So, as we all know, there’s a lot of reasons someone may not be able to bind with an actual binder. These include:

Financial reasons

Health issues

Inaccessibility due to lack of support from family

Hostility towards trans people in their area

Simply feeling uncomfortable in a binder due to chest size, body type, or any other factors

Or a multitude of other things

I’ve been binding for about 2-2.5 years now (I can’t remember exactly). Unfortunately, financial struggles make it seem like top surgery is a thing of the distant future, so I’ll probably be doing this for some time. I am also a plus-sized dude with a very large chest—approximately 38D, but I don’t wear bras so I don’t know my size exactly—which causes some issues. Being large-chested is already known to cause back pain BEFORE adding binding to the mix. And, with the size of my chest, I feel uncomfortable/unsafe being out in public without binding due to the fact that I pass in most other ways, as I live in a rather conservative state and typically try to avoid being flagged as trans by strangers.

As a result of these factors, I’ve been doing some experimenting with alternatives to binding. Now, again, being large-cheated really starts to limit options. Things like tucking are already considered dangerous, and they tend to be impractical with larger breasts.

So, I’ve been looking in to alternatives. The first thing I did some research on was the TomboyX compression bra that recently spiked in popularity after being sold at Target for a time. While these look like a promising and well made produce, they still run at about $40 (before taxes and shipping), making them comparable to the price of a binder. And, though the reviews on them seem very good, I wasn’t personally wanting to spend that amount of money on what appeared to be a glorified sports bra (I mean no offense by this, it’s just personal opinion).

And so, being the Broke Bitch™️ I am, I went to Walmart. There, I found this:

Looking at it, it seemed pretty promising. If nothing else, it would be a good alternative for when I needed break days or would be working out, so I bought it for a whopping $14.99 (after tax). Immediately when I went home, I tried it on and took comparison photos between that and my binder.

This is the GC2B half-tank binder in an XL compared to the sports bra in the photo above from two different angles. Obviously, the shape is quite different, but the sports bra is surprisingly comfortable and adds a very decent amount of compression. Next, I put on a t-shirt and retook the photos:

Again, this is binder on the top, sports bra on the bottom. Still, there is a slight difference in shape and size, but it’s generally not that noticeable. Granted, I do wear almost exclusively baggy t-shirts, so I’m sure that helps. Next, I took the same photos with my go to Trans Guy Baggy Hoodie:

So, there's a bit to unpack here. First of all, it's worth noting I immediately removed the pads from the bra. Even so, the shaping issue is still somewhat of an issue. Luckily(?) for me, with my body type, it would be believable for me to have a bit of Man Titty. For someone thin and large-chested, this may not be the case. On the other hand, for anyone relatively small chested, bra like this one would probably be (at least somewhat) effective.

To make things simple, here are the things I liked about the...

Binder

Is made especially made for trans men, therefore eliminating some of the dysphoria associated with wearing a bra (for me, at least)

Shapes the chest so that breast tissue more closely resembles "pecs"

Slightly flatter chest look

Is more comfortable to wear in public on its own (ie. for swimming shirtless)

Sports Bra

Thinner straps and lighter fabric can reduce sweat and therefore acne

More breathable/less compression on the lungs

Less risk for the health issues associated with binding (ig)

Might make my body personally look more proportionately accurate (idk if looking like I have massive pecs or slightly saggy man titties is better lol)

End game, I feel this experiment has left me with more questions than answers. Honestly, during the winter months when I have to layer up anyway, I may wear the sports bra to give my body a break, but I get the feeling I will be back to binding normally before long.

If anyone else has any information on this, please feel free to share your insight with me. Or, if any plus sized people have tried the TomboyX compression top or any other brands of binders that may be worth trying, let me know how you felt about it! Maybe I'm wrong and it would be worth the money lol.

Also, a friendly reminder that binding is by no means required for any chest size to be nonbinary, transmasc, transgender, etc. or any combination thereof, and that everything I reported here is based on my personal experience alone.

Yellowcard- Ocean Avenue 20th Anniversary Retrospective

I’ll be honest with y’all; I never thought I would be writing about music again, at least not like this. Music is one of the things I’m most passionate about, and I love yelling very loudly about what I’m into at any given time or a new discovery I just made. But, actually sitting down to talk about music in a more in-depth and introspective way is something I thought I had left behind. From 2012 until about 2016, I used to write album reviews, and it was a lot of fun! I loved having an outlet to really dig deep into this love for music that I had, especially when I often couldn’t do so in other spaces in my life. Unfortunately, the music reviewing/critic community I fell into during that time became increasingly toxic and gatekeepy, which led me to step away from writing, and I’ve had a much less stressful relationship with talking about music since. It’s been really freeing to just be able to yell about whatever I love most, and I’ve found a lot of really wonderful communities who are fiercely anti-gatekeeping and encourage being unapologetically passionate about what you love, music or otherwise. 

So, that leads us here, the 20th anniversary of the release of one of the most important things of my life, Yellowcard’s album Ocean Avenue. I realized about a month ago that this utterly wild milestone was coming up, and Yellowcard had also recently reunited after what was expected to be a permanent breakup to announce a new EP (which is now out as of finishing this piece, and spoilers, it’s wonderful) and a tour in celebration of this anniversary, so this got the wheels turning for me. Ocean Avenue is such a special collection of songs for me, and I feel like I could have a lot to say about the album and my memories with it, so I thought it might be fun to take a crack at writing again.

Let’s go back to the summer of 2006; I just recently graduated middle school, and I was spending time with my grandparents at our summer cabin. I remember waking up early a lot of days that summer to catch the music video block on MTV before they’d switch over to their reality shows, and one of my favorite videos to watch was Yellowcard’s “Ocean Avenue.” I really loved how catchy that song was, how fun the video was, and I also really enjoyed hearing that sort of guitar and drum sound in music. Plus, they had a violin player in the band! How cool was that?!  I grew up around a lot of 80’s hair metal, and my younger sister later roped me into the boy bands of the late 90’s/early 2000’s, but there was something about Yellowcard’s sound that grabbed me and became the first kind of music that was really “mine,” for lack of a better term. So, we take a trip to Walmart one day, and I take a look at the CDs that are in the electronics section. I saw a copy of the album Ocean Avenue, and knew right then I had to have it. After a little convincing, I was able to get my grandmother to give me some of the spending money I set aside, and I don’t think I’ve ever ran to the checkout area faster than I did that day. Even better, I happened to have a portable CD player in the car with me, so I opened it as soon as we left and popped the CD in for my first listen. Little did I know just how impactful that day would be.

I could talk about how this album is a classic in the pop-punk scene, how Yellowcard has managed to have staying power for the last twenty years for so many people (despite a couple of hiatuses and albums that fans weren’t nearly as high on), so on, and all of that is very true, but I mostly wanna talk about what it meant to me then and what it means to me now after all this time. Ocean Avenue was the very first album I ever bought with my own money, and it was the album I really credit with lighting the spark that was my love of music. Without it, I absolutely have no idea where my journey with music would be, and that’s a scary thing to think about. I also vividly remember hearing the first notes of “Way Away” on that car ride back to the summer cabin, and despite it being my first time hearing the album, I remember instantly feeling this warm, comforting feeling, like it was something I had always known and was there whenever I needed it. And twenty years later, I still have that feeling. 

When I listen to this album now, no matter what I might be going through or where my life is at, I have this sense of reassurance that everything’s gonna be alright, that I’m gonna get through it and come out the other side of it. And that just means everything to me.

Thank you, Yellowcard, for the last twenty years of incredible music, the memories, and the reminders that yeah, no matter what life throws at me, I got this. Here’s to the next twenty <3

While I don’t have him anymore because I gifted him to my little cousin I would still like to review my War for Cybertron Cyclonus since he was my favorite figure to transform and in general.

Here’s a photo from my old post about my collection with Tailgate. He’s a very sturdy figure and he’s very g1 accurate. I never really pushed his posing so I honestly can’t give to much of and opinion on him but his joint were never loose even though he was transformed ALOT by me and my little cousin. I genuinely wish I had a picture of him transformed when I did have him so instead I’m just going to pull up one from image a search to show you his alt mode.

So he does have a gun attachment that you can put at the top of his jet form, I just couldn’t find a decent image with it. I always loved transforming this Cyclonus figure simply because he was just so fun to transform. The long tip folds out from his chest cavity smoothly I will critique however that the gray tip at the end is a little hard to get out and I had to use a pen or fork to get it out of its compartment. He’s very easy to put together, after two attempts my 7 year old cousin could transform him flawlessly and she did it over and over again for hours which shows just how fun this toy can be for a younger audience. When I first got him I think he was close to $50 at Walmart but I think he’s gotten a little cheaper since you can get him for $40 or less on EBay now.

I really hope this new Cyclonus figure I’m getting lives up to my first one.

9.5/10 he’s my favorite ever plus he was my second or third transformer I had bought.
