Max im not entirely sure about nor do i care but considering his actions in the movie i think whatever he kindof missed being human but at the same time was very aware how "fragile" they were hence part of his effort to fit in and appear like a normal human n wanted a normal family while David and the boys didn't care so much

David was essentially his stepson. Fell in love with David's mother after she'd divorced but his relationship w David was strained despite Max trying to be there for him David was a teenager and still very mad abt the divorce. He didn't like Max one bit (parallels w michael..........). Max never told his mother he was a vampire either. David's mother passed away early 1950s from illness when David was barely 19 and out of desperation ended up clinging to Max as the only remaining parental figure in his life + Max saw David as all he had left of the life he Could've had w his mother. Max tricks him into turning a couple years later kindof out of a selfish fear of not "losing" him like he lost his mother n effectively treated him as if he was a small child and not almost an adult hence why hes so immature despite being old in human years.

David meets Dwayne in the 1960s. Personally I see the Lost Boys all as boyfriends theyre poly :)c. Dwayne was a petty thief quite literally stole David's heart. Was quite influential to David being someone he liked a lot n part of the reason he started acting up against Max so much hVFGHDSJ. They made eachother worse.

Marko was in the early 70s. A problem kid ran away from a troubled home, took the first train out of town and travelled till he couldn't afford it anymore until he landed stranded in Santa Carla. Couldn't find a job, couldn't make friends, kept getting into fights which only made it harder. Dwayne met him when he was essentially being dragged out of a store for doing that exact thing n decided to pull him aside n talk to him for a bit. Introduced him to David n the three became friends quick n the offer of good company and a place to stay rent free wasn't one he was gonna just turn down.

Paul was last in around 1979. A member of a relatively new band that was performing in Santa Carla one night. (Looks like a rockstar bc he WAS one) Got caught making out with another guy by their frontman and immediately ganged up on by the rest of the band n effectively thrown out. David, Dwayne n Marko had been in the crowd at the band's performance (causing trouble as always) so recognised Paul when they found him alone and defeated on the beach. Helped him out, took him in. Paul's first kill was revenge on his old band.
