If it's something like a book, it has to be a super popular bestselling "everyone is talking about this" title or else... yeah your gift is ending up in a sock drawer :/ lol

💧 Water moons experience a lot of guilt whenever they set boundaries with others and it's something they have to overcome as early as possible or they will suffer from a lot of headaches or stomachaches from anxiety

🌬 Aquarius sun men can be extremely toxic when it comes to wanting and chasing someone only after that person loses interest or displays nonchalance towards them. It is almost like they like a challenge to the point of manufacturing it over investing the same energy into a personal connection. The thing is, this is fun for a while but if they do it too often to too many people within a closed environment (school, activity group, work, etc), word gets around and they can often suddenly find themselves losing friends and romantic prospects. They can become lonely at that point and try to double back with their top interests, but won't admit they f*cked up. They just show up either acting as if nothing happened or being kinda arrogant about the whole thing and insisting that you're the one playing games with them.

My name is Julian. I'm a Hellenic Polytheist and have been for 5 years at this point. I'm also an art student who loves to paint and write poetry, which I use for a variety of things including religious expression.

I worship Aphrodite. She is like a second mother to me and I have grown used to referring to her in that way, as my Mother. gonna start this with the absolutely insane story of my friend seeing im asking whether we should go to hotpot today and just go ahead and booked a reservation at 11 at hotpot without informing me and me sleeping until 12 and receive a bunch of message from her. yeah that so fun

fit check. i got this shirt at like a festival fair kinda think and it so cute but so short, need some longer pants idk

HAIDILAOOOOO HEHEHE. cuz it the weekend they do not have the usual combo we usually had so everything was pricier, but I had some beef and cheese tofu heheh and seaweed. the ice cream and chocolate mochi was so so good

after meal we dropped by popmart to see what's all the fuzz. still don't know tbh I think it's just normal figurine but it's super popular lmaoo. also look at the zodiac collection, I think mine (virgo) the one praying?

the entire purpose of our hangout, we can use a bill over a certain amount to trade one turn making resin art, either the standing thing like you see or keychain. i choose keychain, the entire process was so random like I basically didn't know what im doing, but it turned out kinda okay? tho I wished they allow three letter on the keychain tho

while waiting for the reisin to dry and made into keychain, we took a scroll around the mall, they're already finishing the decorating for Christmas, the theme is london like it so pretty, there also a payphone booth to take picture

Transiting Venus enters Gemini

Thursday, May 23 - Monday, June 17, 2024

This is a pleasant, sociable transit; Venus is chatty and flirtatious. Then you remember that Venus is the esoteric ruler of Gemini and realize there’s more going on here than batting our eyelashes.

As Ruth Hadikin wrote here:

At Soul level Gemini is ruled by Venus. Once the activity of Mercury has expanded our perception, we are open to the activity of Venus through the heart center. This brings a spiritual awakening in the form of a deep sense of communion and connectedness with all sentient beings. This shift in perception brings us to the realization of our interrelatedness with one another and all living things.

Sounds like a plan to me (playing “Higher Love” by Steve Winwood on a loop). As for Venus’ areas:

Art - the spoken and printed word, of course. And singing. With Gemini’s rulership of the hands, we appreciate deft touches and cleverness. We especially like it where there is more than one “meaning.”

Beauty - youthful, unstudied, not a lot of makeup usually. We’re spending too much time in our own heads to care much about current fashion.

Tuesday, June 4 - Venus/Gemini conjunct Sun/Gemini, 14°29’. This of course is a pleasant, sunny vibe - but it’s also the Superior Conjunction between Venus and the Sun, the halfway point of their cycle.

Saturday, June 8 - Venus/Gemini square Saturn/Pisces, 19°02’. Can be lonely. We’re being asked to make Venus a bit more mature in her approach, and if we fail to do so (or fail to at least try) we find ourselves hurting worse, and probably doing all kinds of shady, sketchy Geminian mental contortions to justify our failure.

Tuesday, June 11 - Venus/Gemini sextile Chiron/Aries, 22°40’. Good time to apologize. Relationships require communication, which this sextile assists, if we make the effort.

Thursday, June 13 - Venus/Gemini sextile Eris/Aries, 25°22’. Activists can express themselves verbally - and in such a way that we want to hear what they have to say. Like Errol Flynn cracking wise whilst sword fighting with Basil Rathbone.

Sunday, June 16 - Venus/Gemini square Neptune/Pisces, 29°52’. Disillusionment. Sour grapes. Drowning in self-pity. Realizing that love is an emotion, not a theory. There will be a lot of distractions, most of them self-imposed.

It's the Buddy for April 22nd! He's wearing the Capricorn Cloth (being a capricorn himself) of the classic Masami Kurumada manga Saint Seiya.

I loved Saint Seiya. I have all the paperbacks, even, I liked it when I was a kid. It's an interesting manga, in that it doesn't make much sense in retrospect, but when you're reading it, you're more interested in the beat of the plot than in the big picture.

The plot, as I understand, is that this rich girl Saori is the reincarnation of the goddess Athena, so her dad arranged for ten boys to get trained to be her protectors (the saints), wearing bronze armors based on traditional constellations. Then they get into a martial arts tournment to win an actual gold cloth, but complications start making it so they need to stop fighting amongst themselves, and start fighting actual bad guys.

In a way, it's a very toyetic story - each character has their own unique armor (or cloth) which is fits both them, and can be assembled to resemble its constellation, so kids had a lot of expensive toys to collect. And since the golden cloths (belonging to the strongest saints) are based on the twelve zodiac signs, kids already have a favorite character picked out for them.

Me, I'm an Aquarius, so my favorite was Aquarius Camus. The one with the ice powers. He also won a Literature Nobel, you know. But I never related to him, really. He's an ice guy, which is cool I guess, but, not the power I'd choose.

The manga's also very camp. The art's really old-fashioned, looking almost like sometihng from Tatsuo Yoshida's generation. Not a lot of attention is paid to proportions and depth, and the fight scenes are not dynamic. But that's one of the things I like about it, to be honest. It feels like there's a closer dialog between the artist and the reader when the art is so direct. It's the opposite of something like the manga version of One-Punch Man, for instance.

And the designs of the cloths, characters and enemies is also pretty unique, it's got that simplified design quality of eighties manga that's not as popular anymore.

One aspect that Saint Seiya, like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, isn't shy about is the gay subtext regarding some characters... it's most obvious with Andromeda Shun and Pisces Aphrodite, but also Virgo Shaka, Aries Mu... it's an intentional aspect of the story, but when me and my friends were kids watching it, we thought it was pretty "gross".

Even though it doesn't really make sense and it's pretty much designed to appeal to kids' love of shiny stuff and fight scenes, Saint Seiya is one of my favorite franchises. I'll be honest, I didn't know much about greek mythology when I first watched the anime, so I assumed a lot of the stuff Kurumada made up was actual part of ancient Greek myth.
