My glorious friend, shaman and mutant messanger @edgarfabianfrias made me this birthday card, and I had to share it because I love it so much. . Though this past year has been a happy one, I've also adopted some bad habits. . A Scorpio-style obsession with work that's left me hunched over my computer like a Gollum most days, feeling like, if I work a bit harder, a bit longer, I'll finish. . But this last rotation around the sun has taught me: you're not finished until you're dead. There is no such thing as finishing. There is always more to do. . Let me tell you about this kick ass, manifesting our dreams, Full Moon in Virgo spell I just did with @francescaliablock. . Full moons are when power is ripe, so you have to seize its moony fruit and suck the juice all the way down to the seeds. . Virgo: all about rigor, setting plans and schedules, being ninja-level competent, and GETTING SHIZ DONE. Thank you Virgo, I need more of you in my life. . Ok, so, here's how it went... . ...Before we did our spell, Francesca spent an hour with me wading into the deep swampy weeds of the book I've been working on. I have to admit I was TOTALLY LOST in there. My book had become a maze I was convinced I'd never find my way out of. . In an hour, Francesca totally helped me restructure the book. My Rome was rubble and she rebuilt it in an hour. My path forward is clear now. . Within 3 Full Moons, my book proposal will be done. . This is how you do a spell. Before you start, you do work to clarify, you set your intentions, you get helpers. Then, when you're feeling confident, you say the magic words. . Everything around a spell is magic. Your relationships are magic. Your conversations are magic. Your sitting down and wrestling with your book proposal is magic. .
