Venus conjunct Pluto square Saturn: synastry insights from personal experience

I've been involved in a Plutonic relationship for around 3 years now, and I want to share this experience and insights that I've gotten from this extremely passionate journey. This article will touch upon synastry in Scorpio x Taurus axis with strong Pluto and Saturn influence. Scorpio is female, and Taurus is male.

For the context, aspects involved here are:

My Sun conjunct his Moon in Scorpio

My Sun opposite his Venus in Taurus

My Venus opposite his Venus

My Venus conjunct his Moon in Scorpio by sign

My Pluto in opposite to his Venus in Taurus by wide orb

My Pluto in opposite to his Sun in Taurus

His Saturn sextile my Moon

Natally I have Venus conjunct Pluto

But the most prominent aspect are my Venus conjunct his Pluto in Scorpio (orb 0) and my Venus square his Saturn (orb 3).

It is true when articles covering Venus and Pluto aspects say that Pluto will trigger and transform Venus. Before meeting him, I'd say my Venus was sleeping and didn't give any attention to Venusian aspects of life, and he is already Venusian.

After I met him, I experienced wide range of emotions and feelings.

On one hand I felt myself incredibly sexy, attractive and beautiful. It was hard to believe that there is someone on this Earth that would want me that strongly and that openly with incomparable intensity, honesty and intimacy.

On the other hand, I never felt myself like I'm beautiful enough for him and would receive some comments (not insults) saying that I'm already hot and spicy but if I try more I'd become a better version of myself. Despite the fact that he wasn't insulting me, I'd feel some kind of inferiority complex compared to everything related to Venus topics. Like I wasn't enough.

So, here are the insights that I've got from this connection:

Venus conjunct Pluto indicates a very intense and strong emotional and sexual attraction. In my case, because of the fact that both of his Venus and Pluto are in their own sign, the Pluto person made the Venus person feel like they are THE ONE AND ONLY GODDESS OF PASSION.

Pluto person will encourage more intimacy in sex and relationships. He once described our sex to be the most shameless and raw experience he ever had.

You will always have soft spot for each other, especially if there is Sun - Moon conjunction.

There is an opinion that Pluto will degrade Venus by doing various stuff to her and making her do stuff. It is true, but given my Venus in Scorpio already I've never felt humiliated, degraded, oppressed or dirty. Instead, I felt empowered. I felt that I had the person with whom I can express myself and get to learn about myself in a safe space. This aspect allows space to be vulnerable, submit, and at the same time try everything you've wanted without being judged.

The chemistry was instant. At the beginning it was impossible to have a good conversation without having sex first. Tension and passion is the core of this connection that makes you both turned on by each other in a matter of seconds literally without exaggeration.

It feels like the Pluto is given the upper hand in this connection by Venus willingly, but in fact Venus is not left without power. She has the power to set Pluto on fire by her desire whenever she wants it. Venus has control over Pluto's passion. It is an exchange of power, a wild dance of desire, pleasure and power.

Since a lot of oppositions involved, this power plays and fear of intimacy and official commitment on both side what made this connection volatile. As coming too close to each other was too unbearably hot, raw, too much to handle.

Venus tends to romanticise everything Pluto does, and Venus is going to obsess over Pluto, and want to please him. From gift giving to accommodating his wishes and needs. In our case, this was intensified by Venus - Moon and Sun - Moon conjunction, as I'm attentive, caring and accommodating. These aspects also make this care and gentleness to be reciprocal, especially the Moon.

The Moon person is concerned by how Venus person feels, and tries it best to make Venus comfortable. This is also provided by his Venus in Taurus, which is preoccupied with comfort and pleasure.

The Pluto person will obsess as well, but they will hide their obsession, but it felt when you realise that Pluto has set up eyes only on Venus and is being fixated on her. Doesn't want anyone but her despite having options.

The Pluto person is going to show stalkerish tendencies, but definitely not in dangerous or threatening way.

The Pluto person is going to show possessive tendencies, and he will want to know to whom Venus pays attention also.

The Pluto person will want Venus person despite the fact how her appearance, especially body, changes for a better or worse.

Many people say that Venus - Saturn is a very difficult aspect, especially for the Venus, and it is true. Sometimes Venus will feel like she is being criticised by Saturn or left without any love or affection, and this will be hard.

Venus will want to be officially associated with Saturn, but it won't be possible as if Saturn doesn't want to commit.

Yet, the Saturn person will be the one who'll make this connection work for a long run. Without Saturn being involved in our connection, there is a high chance that this fiery Venus - Pluto conjunction would have burned everything around in rather small amount of time. It would have exploded and reached the closure. Saturn is truly the glue. My Saturn sextiles his Venus, and I wanted to be in relationship with him.

Saturn will check on whether Venus is disciplined and tries her best in her spheres, and if he notices Venus slacking, he will be upset, annoyed, and won't miss a chance to remind and comment on this. If this Venus is not supported by natal Saturn, then this might be difficult.

I felt that I'm not beautiful enough despite the fact that he told me that I'm beautiful and attractive several times, and literally made me feel like this. I took close to the heart that he is not ready and don't want to commit to me officially. But surprisingly, this Saturn and Pluto taught me several lessons: - To not rely on another person to validate you. - To question what I truly want and what are my true desires and standards. - To have boundaries and always have respect for yourself. - To accept yourself and instead of looking for external love, find inner love and care first. - To realise that if I'm not confident about my Venus, then no amount of other peoples validation will make me feel I'm enough. - To have mature expectations about yourself, about other person, and about connection in general.

Overall, this connection pushes me to evolve personally in various ways. It is not a surprise given the fact that our synastry is based on conjunctions, oppositions and we have some squares. It is a challenge, but rather challenge not to fight the other person, but rather look within.

This Pluto person never instilled any insecurities in my being, and never caused a jealousy in me, never ever did any harm to me and truly never intended. Rather the opposite. Perhaps his existence, and my strong and intense feelings trigger unhealed parts of me that were ignored for a long time, and my insecurities finally were brought to the surface, so I can face them. Oppositions are good when you need to learn acceptance. Acceptance of yourself by by seeing how different you are from the other person, and acceptance of the other by realising that they are the way who they are, and it is ok. This was truly a journey of a Scorpio embracing and learning everything what Taurus represents.

And this journey is an emotional roller coaster that is challenging, down right difficult, complicated, complex, raw, but also insightful and rewarding.

And I wouldn't have done this without my feelings for him. I wouldn't have done this is without my Sun/Venus conjunct his Pluto/Moon. My desires and my feelings are the driver of this ongoing transformation, for which he was a catalyst.

And the answer to the question that everyone has in mind "Who obsessed more: Pluto or Venus?" - it is both, but the obsession of Pluto makes Venus react this way, as Venus is receptive feminine energy.

Sand/Ray/Mew/Top on knowing who you are and what you want (Only Friends ep 3)

I watched the 3rd episode of Only Friends tonight and I have a lot of feelings about how Sand, Ray, Mew and Top represent different aspects of knowing who you are and what you want... So it isn't proper meta but here are some random thoughts :

I really appreciate Ray being unapologetic about being into Sand on some level, even if it isn't romantic, he's so forward about wanting to drive him home, spend time with him, listen to him play and sing, eat the food he cooked ... and sleeping together again obviously, but I think it's how honest he is about wanting to be around Sand that makes it hard for Sand to resist him. And that makes it hurt so much more when Ray just as openly prioritizes someone else (Mew) over Sand.

But even then, I think Ray's earnest feelings are going to be very attractive to Sand. Ray is genuine in his feelings for Sand and doesn't hesitate to pursue him, and maybe Sand is going to wish him to stop being so self-loathing and go for what he loves because he deserves it. I'm not saying it will happen, but I could see a world in which Sand somewhat encourages Ray to go after Mew, especially since he clearly doesn't care much for Top.

What's that about by the way, what's the history between Sand and Top ? I absolutely love Sand scratching his temple while showing his middle finger to Top after they've made eye contact, and Top's immediate reaction to criticize Sand's band being there is a very good way to make it clear to us that they've had beef. They could be ex lovers, but I don't get that vibe actually, I feel like their dislike for each other runs deeper and is probably more meaningful than that.

As an aside, Khaotung/Ray's flirtatious eyes at Sand in this episode are God-tier, he is SO FUCKING GOOD at looking at him through his eyelashes in a way that feels both slightly submissive and in complete control. He's a cute sexy cat and he knows it, and First/Sand is doing such a good job at being slightly disarmed, attracted to him, slightly flirt back but yet playing it cool and holding back from feeding it too much haha. They act like Ray is so excited to see Sand and want to jump on him at all times and Sand is afraid of getting burned but finds Ray to endearing to resist, and it's delicious to watch

I'm talking about these eyes and these smiles and these eyes and smiles (thank you @justme-1723 and @intolove). I'm absolutely not over them.

The way Ray asks Sand if he's going to charge him for their night together somehow feels so different to Boston telling Nick he's updated their relationship to being a regular. Between Ray and Sand, it feels more like an expression of Ray's slight vulnerability, his being used to having to spend money on people for them to stick around, and a reflection of their teasing relationship where their banter is largely based on calling each other jerks.

Plus Ray telling him their night was priceless anyway was such a smooooootth line haha, slightly corny but definitely efficient. Could almost distract you from the fact that he's deflecting on Sand's joke that he should see a therapist.

Sand's comments throughout the episode that Ray should see a therapist remind me of the way I've seen people try to joke around some topics to bring them up to a friend or lover, because they actually thing they need help but aren't in a position to straight up communicate that. Sand is acutely aware that Ray is messed up and that his issues are above his paygrade, and I respect him for that.

Everyone in the friend group is excited when Ray mentions talking to his dad about the pool party being thrown for PR, I assume because that means he might pay for it. No one is excited at Ray picking the band or even seems to know he's that into music as well. Aouch

Top and Mew's silent disco date felt very random in this episode, like there was little context for it except to say that they do go on dates ? It's a good opportunity to show through that dude Beam hitting on Top that Top has actually not engaged with his former hook ups since going out with Mew, but also that he won't outright say he's dating Mew if there is not benefit for him to say so. Mew's reaction is also very telling of the fact that he knows Top's history of sleeping around, can be secure in himself very well and that he won't give in to feeling like he's lucky to have Top's attention.

Edit : maybe this scene is more interesting than I thought, thank you to @chickenstrangers and @ranchthoughts for pointing out here the metaphor of everyone being in different headspaces within the same relationship. Maybe I'd push it even more to say they're not really listening to each other, they think they're dancing to the same beat while they don't actually know what music the other person has in mind.

Though really this scene just feels like it was made to get Top to say "I wanna be a hero but a villain is my role" while Mew looks at him like yes to both

Jennie's boyfriend the bartender is the one to point out Ray's alcohol problem now, I guess you need at least one per episode !

Sand pointing out all the roles he fills for Ray really highlights how lonely Ray is, and how close Sand is to acting like a best friend and even a boyfriend to Ray when they don't know each other that well. And when Ray already has a best friend that he dreams of being boyfriends with.

As Sand identifies all the needs he's tending to for Ray, and how much Ray seems to want someone who is everywhere in his life like a boyfriend contradicts what he says about wanting to be friends only, he's clearly scared both of Ray falling for him and of falling for Ray. Which makes me think he knows he cares too much about people who needs his help, and once again it's really going to hurt when Ray rejects his guidance and makes bad choices for himself

Sand strikes me as the most self aware character of this show, even more than Mew, careful about who he lets in and smart enough to know he should maybe avoid the challenge (where Mew chases it) instead of tempting fate. Not going to be enough though

Mew immediately noticing that Ray is flirting with Sand and encouraging him to go for it is true best friend behavior, even though on the receiving hand it hurts like hell, and I feel for Ray. He does seem touched by how sincere Mew is in wishing him happiness, and that's adorable

Ray is absolutely incapable to hide his annoyance with Top when he's around, and their battle of "we're rich boys who know prestigious bands" is kinda funny

But Ray also respects Mew's autonomy, and does nothing with Boston's provocation to interfere in Mew's relationship with Top. Ray is smart enough not to trust Boston's goading (for now) and to know he's not in a position for Mew to like him that way

Ray presenting driving Sand home instead of waiting for a taxi ride as "saving him" on the same level as Sand preventing Ray to drive drunk is hilarious and a good sign that Ray really doesn't do much for anyone

Especially not without ulterior motives since they end up making out. Their make out also feels more intimate than Nick and Boston who have actually been hooking up for a month or something. The places those faces and those hands go...

They're making out in the same parking lot that Ray called Mew from after he was kicked out of Sand's place and got frustrated he was being put aside for Top. And that's where Mew calls Ray as his second choice after Top to help him, and so Ray drops everything for Mew and doesn't get into Sand's place even though he could. The symmetry of those situations is striking.

The way Ray not only picks up his phone, but fully pushes Sand away and readjusts his clothes properly, like it wasn't happening, like Mew is the legitimate boyfriend and he doesn't want to get caught hooking up with Sand who's just a side piece, hurts more than Ray going to help his friend, and I'm pretty sure Sand feels the same. Ray is showing him what he wants most.

The revelation that Ray and Mew did apparently hook up two years before is very interesting and I don't know if I believe it ? If it's true, it does feel like it was maybe experimentation for Mew and Ray respected that, and that honestly feels pretty realistic and respectable to me ; it's crazy that it's enough to make Top question if Mew is cheating on him, especially given how he is himself surrounded by people from his past and has so far resisted them. Maybe precisely he feels stupid if he's resisting them while Mew isn't, or he's also projecting and thinking that in Mew's shoes he'd use Ray's feelings for him to get some sex on the side

If it isn't real though, I'm curious about if it's just a Photoshop/angle of the picture making it look different, but Boston says he has a video too. He could be lying though, obviously

Interestingly enough, I feel that the couple that was arguably centered at the beginning, Top x Mew, is the least interesting this episode, because on their end everything is basically reaction to other characters. What they're doing and what they will do in the next couple of episodes will largely be consequences of Boston and Nick's actions (dedicated post here)

Meanwhile, Ray and Sand are trying to develop their own thing, on their own terms, aside from the rest of the group, like they've done the previous episodes. But with Sand being roommate with Nick and Top x Mew about to implode because of Boston, they're definitely not going to continue being outside of the main drama. I'm not sure how Ray will handle it and how it will impact his relationship with Sand yet... Looking forward to episode 4 !

So I FINALLY got Minthara in my party after dilly-dallying for so long and WOOF ughh her fucking voice, wroww!!!! U r right, raspy and rough is the way to go. Forgive me shart, but my heart is about to be brutally ripped out of my chest for sweet sweet Minthy

Her voice is everything. I can't imagine a Minthara without a raspy rough commanding voice. It's such a fucking fresh breath of air from the usually whispy soft voices they give to drow woman to make them seem seductive.

Like, no, these woman wage wars, rule houses, and bark orders left and right. If anything, they should have authoritarian voices with egos to match.

Shadowheart's voice is very attractive yes and it works well for her character, same for Wyll and Astarion. It fits them to have honeyed vocals that could sway you from one decision to another.

But Minthara? Lae'zel? Their voices are top fucking tier because of how much they demand your attention and make you realise this isn't just another friendly npc.

I love women who have rough and deep voices! I'm tired of seeing every female villain have a "mommy" voice to appeal to the viewers because writers associate female power with seduction! I want a grumpy venom filled woman who spits and barks every word! Let her sound like she goes through 20 packs a day! Let her do that whilst not reducing her to a wild, oblivious barbarian to attempt to appeal to another margin of people.

Minthara is noble, regal, and aristocratic like a king. And just like a king, she isn't afraid to yell or speak harshly because that is her birthright.

I also like that Minthara has no make-up on. I love how it was a personal choice. She still presents as femme even without the need for make-up.

Because these small details really make you see how different drow culture is. That femininity is equated with power and command. That make up is not expected of woman as the minimum standards like with the humans, that it's turly a personal choice there and not a market profitting off of the insecurity they themselves make up about women.

How masculinity in drow culture is equated with submission and obedience. Women get to fight openly and throw around threats while men have to be the sneaky subtle ones who relay on manipulation and seduction.

Minthara not once wore anything to appeal to anyone's gaze. Her whole woredrobe is catered to her own taste and comfort. Even her camp clothes ooze power despite being revealing. What we think of as masculinity is her own way of expressing femininity.

Fuck imagine drows reaction to humans gender roles and clothes in comparison. Half human women clothes would offend Minthara because of how they're designed to cater to men rather than the person wearing it. Do you know how hard it is to find women's basics? How everything has to look sexy or extra tight for some fucking reason even basic white t-shirts? No wonder the humans are a laughing stock amongst the elves.

he smells like whatever $5 deodorant stick/spray you can find in the drugstore grooming aisle. the “sport” scent or the “fresh” scent. he doesn’t know who tom ford is or where the “eau de toilette” is.

he has a deep voice and he is rather soft spoken. his voice is also kind of monotone, he doesn’t have a very animated speech pattern. his voice could put someone to sleep, either from boredom or comfort lol

amir is definitely more monogamy-minded. he does not like playing the field because he’s shy, has low self worth, and doesn’t find casual dating and hookups to be meaningful. he’s socially awkward and closed off and he wouldn’t like having someone’s attention on him, opening up to a stranger, and he doesn’t think someone would be impressed by him. he yearns for an emotional connection though, and he needs that in order for anything else to be enjoyable. he’s a hopeless romantic, he idealizes romantic relationships because they are so elusive, he just wants one relationship to be the relationship. he thinks of dating as like, if i can’t see myself marrying them in a few years, what is even the point of going on a date with them, it’d just be a waste of time!

he loooves kissing. he likes giving cute forehead and cheek kisses. in bed, he likes kissing his partner’s neck and down their chest, all over the body really, it’s like a physical way of expressing his strong desire for them. he’s a soft and sensual kisser but he’s not afraid to get nastier if that’s what his partner likes.

he would find ways to spend time with them. he would muster up the courage to be direct like “hey, i want to see you, want to do ____ with me?” he’d put in the effort to plan dates. he’ll send and reply to texts consistently even though he’s not a big texter or social media user. he wouldn’t be super flirty or anything but he’d give that person his full attention and he’d make it obvious he was interested. he’ll notice and remember every little detail about that person and basically burn them into his memory and think about them constantly which would translate into him being really attentive and almost clingy.

Sometimes I think of how people will see the most shallow bit of feminism and girl power in media and then treat it like the height of progressiveness and act like that piece of media is now incapable of being misogynistic.

Like I don't actually have a problem with some of the obvious girl power stuff - things like girls standing up to people who say they can't fight, or girls being confronted by guys who are like rating the attractiveness of them and their friends, or 'you should smile more' stuff, or things like that. Every time I see someone post about how 'we should be past that' and how 'everyone gets it' I also see both women expressing how it helped them and also terrible men talking about how they think it's overdramatic and lying and anti-men, so like... Yeah, we do still need some of this kind of obvious girl power, no we haven't actually progressed past men out and out saying they think women belong in the kitchen or should serve men or something, it actually is totally realistic and empowering to many real life women to see a female character openly stand up for herself and show up men and stuff.

But also that sort of on the nose shallow level stuff is often used in a very performative way, and there's often deeper levels of misogyny at play that writers usually don't seem to bother to deconstruct. And the willingness to only pay attention to shallow level stuff and call that good enough is in my opinion actually detrimental, especially when that's then used to try to shut up the women that are rightfully trying to criticize deeper misogyny.

A female character standing up to a male character that says girls can't fight might be and often is still not given a narrative outside of a love interest.

A female character being the main protagonist might still be shuffled to the side to give more attention to a male character, or not be allowed to be really flawed and therefore less of a real relatable character.

A confident and feisty female character might still be objectified and made specifically for male audiences to sexualize, designed to be sexy for men or just written in a way that's meant to be palatable for them (such as stripping femininity from a female character who is involved in action.)

A female character in a position of power might still be treated like a jealous power hungry bitch or a sad cat lady who secretly longs for a husband and babies, or be 'in a position of power' in name only and not actually be that big of a threat, or do nothing, or be propped up as the important bad guy only for the media to reveal that really, she's nothing compared to this new eleventh hour male threat.

A female character who stands up to one male character might still be written to wind up in a relationship with a male character that treats her like crap and acts entitled to her and yet it's still framed as romantic, or will be pressured into a romantic relationship with no one acknowledging it as weird or bad, or just is written to never really challenge her male friends.

A female character might be allowed to be non-feminine and dismiss beauty standards but she might then be portrayed as having no female friends and being not like other girls and meanwhile women who are more traditionally feminine are put down and men who aren't traditionally masculine are mocked and treated like they're weak and lesser. A female character might be allowed to be non-feminine and dismiss beauty standards, but she might be confined to not going over a certain line, like a female character who is portrayed as strong but not allowed to become muscled, or a female character who doesn't like make up and fashion but is still designed in an 'appealing' way and might have a 'oh no she has to dress all girly and hot against her will and the men will exclaim over her' moment.

Female characters might be given any of the above only for it to feel like the writers punish them for it. Brutally murdering them, having them tortured, having their friends turn against them, or even just the writing around them feeling snarky and pointed. Like a writer making a female character say something right and having a different character be like 'uh-huh, you're probably right like always.' Or a writer making a female character show up the boys in her combat training class only to then have her get brutally beaten on the field like her confidence must be destroyed or proven wrong or something.

Female characters might have everything technically right on paper, and yet be written in thin, spiritless ways that give them no real growth, dismiss their personal narratives, or are just dry like you can tell the writers don't actually want to be writing for the character and don't really care that much about them. Sometimes the misogyny is in the fact that other characters are allowed to have growth arcs and learn and change and go after their goals and make mistakes and forge important connections that are actually relevant, while the female characters that are meant to be important/badass/feminist icons are just a lot thinner and aren't given that same attention and just feel like they're around because the writers feel like they have to be.

I need people to understand that misogyny in media is rampant and that writers rarely seem to be interested in deconstructing their biases, and I need people to understand that the only types of misogyny in media aren't 'women characters only exist to be nameless sexy club girls' and 'women characters only exist to be teary damsel princesses in need of saving.' There's much deeper forms of misogyny in media.

And it's really very frustrating to try to talk about misogyny in various pieces of media and have people hold up shallow level performative stuff and be like 'But if they were misogynistic, they wouldn't have done this, checkmate.' Like, no, that's just the profitable bare minimum people think will get women off their backs. Even when it's meant sincerely (and again, I'm not saying it's always inherently bad) it's most often accompanied by some form of deeper level misogyny.

(Also radfems and terfs leave me alone, DNI, you guys are also really fucking terrible at writing women characters and I swear you've all got misogyny that leaks into that shit too.)

Thinking about it, I do definitely feel a lot more inhibited about expressing horniness about women because of, you know, the different Implications of talking about men vs women in this way.

It's like... if Marty Kove found out what I'd been saying about him over the years, I think he'd be enormously flattered, but women tend to have a very different experience of random strangers being openly horny about them. Or, indeed, of seeing Tumblr mutuals who are not themselves women slobbering over women like pieces of meat.

And I know that it's Fine Actually to think women are sexy and the belief that it's not fine has tangible negative consequences for people of all genders and sexualities, but it's hard to know when the fairly innocuous "I don't want to objectify" impulse crosses into a "my attraction is predatory" self-belief. There is also the element where being taken for a queer woman, or people knowing I'm non-binary and assuming I am "woman aligned" and closer to identifying with WLW than queer men makes me wretchedly dysphoric, so I end up just not talking about my attraction to women much to try to get away from that.

This was the new bar you’ve been practically begging your best friend to take you to, since the very first day it opened. You heard lots of positive reviews about the workers and the drinks, with how tired and stressed you are from your everyday job, you wanted to take a break and have fun at a good place like this new bar. You gently picked up the menu and skimmed over the options whilst Giyuu skimmed up and down at you whilst your attention is diverted from you. He was quite nervous serving such a pretty girl but he did pretty well at keeping it secret, he seemed compose, chill and complimentary to you. “May I have one Tequila Sunrise, please?” Giyuu nodded, fishing out the closest tall cocktail glass and smoothly swept up the tequila bottle, the orange juice bottle and the grenadine syrup bottle to sit besides each other. Getting to work, he poured all three liquids in equally whilst his sapphire-coloured eyes glimmered with a sense of desire, making your knees feel a bit weak

Your beloved best friend suddenly hopped into the scene after it was a few seconds of silence. You watching Giyuu prepare your order and Giyuu preparing the drink whilst flashing those dangerous blues at you. She bounced up and landed rear-first on the nearby cushioned stool to yours as she tilted her head at your distracted form, your rosy blush whilst turning to see the bartender you were gawking lovestruck at for herself. He wasn’t really much she suspected for a bar this high quality but she can recognise your admiration for him from a mile away so she decided to ignore that

Giyuu ducked down behind the counter, once he lidded the bottles in such flowing movements like he is a running river, plucking out a whole slice of orange, a toothpick and a single cherry. Puncturing the orange by the flesh on the glass’s rim, skewing the cherry on the toothpick then placing it into the orange’s up-facing skin as he gently swirled the unmixed drink, making the orange-to-yellow colour sparkle

Carefully sliding it to sit in front of you, his own lovestruck glare never faltered as he seemed to have ignored your dear best friend’s presence. Leaning back, he returned to work mode and spoke again, that voice of his did stuff to you, you swore. “Would you like anything else, ma’am?” You smirked at Giyuu teasingly and pointed to your neglected friend, raising the filled glass to your plump lips so you could taste the cocktail

He openly ‘oh-ed’ and shuffled to his right to lean down, asking the same question he did before to your friend as you took gulps away at the delicious concoction. You know you could taste the sugary pings of his love sprinkled through the fruitiness as your friend bombarded him with many orders after seconds of checking the menu when he handed it to her. Rolling his eyes, he quickly plucked out exactly five glasses of different heights, and as he crossed you again to pick out the respective ingredients

Flashed you the naughtiest glare you’ve seen from him this whole hour. Full of excitement and neediness whilst he stride past you to continue serving your friend, who was now cheering outloud like she was drunk, and thanking you mindlessly for convincing her to come to this paradise on Earth. Halfway done with your delicious order, you just watched Giyuu work. His muscly biceps flexed for you anytime he lifted something, his chiselled jaw screamed out for you to stare at him

And for sure, you did the entire night until your friend had to drag you out. Best night ever, as you not only got have so many amazing drinks…

I was so tempted to ship you with Gwen however, it felt like too much of a good thing, you were both a bit too similar and since that was the case, I just had to go with Hobie. There is something so intriguing about you, despite being an open book there is this sense of mystery that lingers, and while I remain completely baffled Hobie will just get it. In this case it was his persistent admiration that slowly morphed into something deeper, his attraction to you was off the charts but he remained grounded in the fact that his heart was beating in a way it hadn’t before.

It's obvious that he has fallen in love with your dancer posture and your physical traits but what he adores the most is the girl hidden beneath all of that. The girl who is as introverted as she is extroverted, you literally take the introvert stereotype and add a good helping of spice to the mix. And it’s important to mention that he for sure could see right through your resting judgemental bitch face considering he also possesses a variant of that bitch face, which leads to the fact that he is fully content with the idea of neither of you trying to change that. You both experience this sense of self-acceptance which ultimately leads to the conclusion that you love each other because you dish honesty out to each other and anyone else who happens to be within a 5 foot radius.

This may seem like a very loud and rambunctious relationship but there is just something that grounds the two of you, it’s actually a lot more loving and wholesome than you both let on even if your love language is an even split between flirty retorts and insults. The insults that come from him are laced in the gentlest forms of love, which becomes more apparent when you take into consideration just how much he swoons over all your hobbies and interests. Don’t get him wrong he doesn't have a fascination with your hobbies (at least not all of them) but they get way more attractive when you do them. He wouldn’t bat an eye if he saw Miles scale a building but man if he sees you rock climbing, he would respectfully be on his knees.  

Another thing that Hobie prides himself over is the fact that he understands you so well, which is quite amazing considering you both have completely different ways of expressing yourselves. Part of this comes from the fact that Hobie follows his instinct, so while you don’t empathise openly with others Hobie has enough instinct to know that you have some semblance of care for him.

I will leave this ship on the note that there really isn’t anything that can be said, it just is, the fact that you and Hobie complete each other in such a rare way seems out of the ordinary and it is. As you spend time with your punkish boyfriend you marvel at how extraordinary he really is.

"Is Reigen sexy?" starts arguments. It's a question that enters Poe's Law territory.

Reigen has a “just a guy” character design that veers towards ugly or grotesque for comedic effect in the manga. Most of ONE’s characters could be considered average-looking, everyday people. There’s few exceptions and these characters are usually described as attractive by other characters or through dialogue and context clues. Serizawa has a thought bubble about Reigen being popular with lady clients. Going off of that line, Reigen could be considered physically attractive. Or perhaps his charisma bumps him up a little higher than he would be considered otherwise? Another argument in favor of “Reigen is sexy” is the idea his looks would win him more clients and jobs than he might get otherwise. The counter is that he charges bargain-bin rates, has a weird array of “jack of all trades” skills, and grade A salesman skills. There’s a laundry list of reasons for Reigen’s success that have nothing to do with looks. In short, there’s no direct confirmation in the manga that Reigen is attractive.

Before the anime adaptation came out, a joke in the manga expressed Reigen's desire to be seen as an attractive, bishounen-esque character in the anime adaptation. Studio Bones' response is that Reigen has scenes where the camera full-on ogles and objectifies him. He wipes sweat out of his face with the effortless grace of a L'oreal model. When he pulls off his clothes and takes a shower, his neck, back, and overall movement are choreographed in a very specific, carefully curated, fan service-y manner. It's set up like stereotypical shots in other anime that draw attention to jiggling boobs, six pack abs, skirts moving just so around the thighs. It's both a subversion on and deliberate recreation of the pandering male gaze shots that litter so many other anime.

The L’oreal model scenes are complemented by how often Reigen looks gross or ghoulish. Look at the burger-devouring scene right before Reigen delivers the iconic “You are the protagonist of your own life” line. Reigen is getting crumbs everywhere and his mouth stretches as wide as the animators can manage. Another fantastic example is the sequence where Reigen insists to Dimple he’s doing fine without Mob and describes Mob as a “snot-nosed middle schooler.” 

There’s a frantic desperation in his movements; an extra dimension of obnoxiousness and snark than usual. In most scenes, his face, mannerisms, gestures, and all get extra flourishes and exaggeration. He only looks as good as the framing and context of a scene dictate. He gets special treatment the same way Bugs Bunny gets a win by cartoon logic. If Studio Bones wants sexy Reigen or ghoulish Reigen, the visuals will morph and warp to that specific vision as much as they need to.

Arguably, most characters that get so openly objectified have at least one blatant sex appeal quality to them. For example, and probably the closest relevant one, look at Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen. In Gojo’s case, he has an attractive design in both the manga and anime. He has an air of mystery and angst to him. The mangaka has openly advised against picking Gojo as a romantic partner due to his flippant attitude towards romantic relationships. But that still makes Gojo appealing in that “unavailable asshole” way. I’m not condoning that behavior; more acknowledging that it’s a thing some people find appealing. In short, Gojo’s design and character make him an obvious, albeit unconventional, choice for getting objectified.

I was going to wait to expand my thoughts on that last post but now I'm motivated, let's talk about disgust.

I had an interesting conversation with a friend a week ago, who's an outsider to all this bimbo fetish stuff, and they said this, which struck a chord with me immediately.

As much commentary there is about unrealistic and artificial beauty standards being pushed and average women (average people, really) being made to feel insecure, the reality is that most people will prefer "natural" beauty and what they consider sincere -- real. It's an extension of the Madonna-whore complex and goes back what I said about respectability. The ideal woman, to a lot of men, is a woman who would make a good wife and homemaker. In the long-term they want a woman who's proper, that they can view as a human being. This is not a new idea, not remotely. Think of Super Freak,

Legally Blonde, The Girl Can't Help It. There's the woman you (men) see as a sex object and the woman you (men) see as a partner. Take Legally Blonde for example, Elle Woods is far from a bimbo but she's treated as one because she doesn't have the "right" look or attitude for a political career. Despite being smart, capable, and not slutty at all she's still too feminine to be taken seriously by Warner, she's an embarrassment.

In The Girl Can't Help It (1956) you have an inversion of that. Jerri Jordan is a Madonna (loves cooking, cleaning, wants to have several children) but her gangster boyfriend wants her to act like the whore, which she very much looks like, being played by Jayne Mansfield.

And there's so many more examples I can bring up (like Drake's entire career), but I think I've got my point across. Or have I? My point is that, historically, men don't really like women who look or act sexy. Or at least don't respect them. And part of that is tied to the look. It's actually not the norm or even that popular to like women who are very "done-up" and fake-looking, or women who are sexy of their own volition, despite what porn has told you. I CONSTANTLY see men talk about pornstars have "ruined" themselves by getting plastic surgery. But it's usually the "ruination" that attracted me to that pornstar, model, actress, or whatever in the first place.

There's also the botched surgery subreddit. On more than one occasion I've seen women I follow because I think they're very hot reposted there to be gawked at and called gross, sad, and disgusting by thousands of men and women. Same pattern on Twitter. A repost of a sex worker I follow will go viral with a caption like "surgeries are getting out of hand." Millions of disgusted gawkers and commentators.

Personally, I never got the memo. And my admitted unasthamed attraction to these women who look and act the whore was seen by my peers as an indication of desperation rather than a preference or I guess more accurately, a fetish.

Some people think bimbos should be cute or traditionally attractive, I don't. I think it's hot when a woman acts obnoxious and looks sloppy and ridiculous, like a parody of a woman. Or a bastardization of the human form itself.

I knew there was a disconnect when the last season of a Euphoria aired and people were mocking Chloe Cherry for her lips and saying she looked weird while referring to Sydney Sweeney as a bimbo.

To me, the bimbo exists in obscenity. She openly expresses her own sexuality, primps and preens herself to a vulgar degree, and is dumb as fuck. It's like if you took the stereotypical whore, of the Madonna-whore dichotomy, and turned her up to the nth degree. Like a whore monster. Not only is she the opposite of what men respect, to the point she becomes unattractive to most, but also an affront to public decency. And in that way, like my friend said, the performance of femininity becomes masculine. In expressing what she does the way she does the bimbo becomes both the embodiment and antithesis of male desire. For most men she's just... too much. Too dumb, too sexy, too fake, too confident, too over-the-top.

As @severedsheriff put it, the attraction is the taboo. The appeal can be found in the lack of appeal. I suppose a woman being dumb, plastic, and provocative is a bit more accepted now than it was in the early 2000s, but just barely.

I actually took a long time to start reblogging Luke in pain images and gifsets (and some I still don't) because they really sort of hurt my heart, no matter how fabulous Mark looks all contorted and wounded. I'm not a huge fan of whump actually, despite those tags ahahah. Don't really read it and you still won't find a lot of "off with his hand" scenes in my archive, for example. But you make an excellent point--some actors are just sexy when they suffer and there ain't nothing wrong with that.

I think one reason some people (yourself included) may find the electrocution scene so much of a turn on is how those muscle spasms, "o" faces, scrunched-up eyes, tousled hair and jerking hips give us a dark/warped mirror to the erotic throes of orgasm.
