The four Sages were called back into the past by Terrako and they remember it happening

Tulin got to meet his hero, Revali, and decided to be just like him, adopting his idol’s brash personality and drive. He practises Revali’s Gale and eventually comes up with his own way to show off his mastery of wind, and when trouble hits his home he rushes to fix it on his own to prove how strong he has become and because, like Revali, he can’t stand idly by while he knows there’s still things he can do.

For Yunobo, when he goes back and meets his ancestor Daruk, he is a very timid and reactive Goron. He needs a push from others to come up with ideas and carry plans through, and when bad things happen to him his first instinct is to use his fire magic as a shield, to wait until the threat has passed by or somebody else has come to save him. But when he is sent back in time to Divine Beast vah Rudania, for the first time he has to be the one doing the saving. Daruk encourages Yunobo and is proud of him from the moment they meet, and it’s this support that gives Yunobo the confidence to help fight against Calamity Ganon, and to start YunoboCo when he gets home.

For Sidon, meeting his family from 100 years ago is bittersweet. He is proud that he was able to protect his sister, and it’s a comfort to know there is a version of him who will grow up alongside Mipha because of his bravery and fighting prowess. But as much joy as he got from seeing her, hugging her, and hearing her voice again, it just reminds him of how unfair her death was, of just how young she was when she died and how he is now older even though he’s the younger sibling. And at the end of the war, when he’s returned to their original time, he has to readjust to her absence all over again, and in light of that is it really a shock he’d have her statue moved further away from his home? And it also explains why he’s so desperate to protect Yona from the sludge.

Riju in AoC still a new ruler to her people, despite her accomplishments in BotW, she still feels guilty over the temporary loss of the Thunder Helm and isn’t sure if she can lead the Gerudo. She has a lot of confidence but is quick to falter when things go wrong. Urbosa treats Riju as a capable fighter despite her young age, and teaches her that she should never give up, to keep trying even when her resolve falters. There is always something you can do, even when it’s just stalling for time until help can arrive. Urbosa guides her in mastering the Thunderhelm, and possibly begins teaching her to summon lightning herself after Kohga attempts to steal it, and at the end of their time together Urbosa tells Riju she’s certain she’ll lead the Gerudo well. Riju treasured her time being mentored by Urbosa so much that she considers what Urbosa would do during the Upheaval in her diary in TotK.

I think the entire reason Tulin was added to the DLC was because the TotK team had already decided that Tulin was going to be the Sage of Wind, and that since the other sages were going to meet their Champions Tulin had to as well.

At some point in the years between Botw and TotK Teba, Tulin, Sidon, Yunobo, Riju and Patricia were summoned back in time by Terrako to aid the Champions during the Calamity, and even though those events took place in a parallel timeline and had no bearing on the world they returned to, the Sages’ personalities at the beginning of TotK are because of their experiences during the Calamity and the bonds they made with the Champions.

I am posting this before I fiddle with it more and lose my goddamn mind: The Zelda Timeline, as I am using it for this Link's Meet 'verse.

Text description/summary under the cut as best I can do with how complex this is, but in brief this maps out the timeline order of events, languages, scripts, which events happen in which timeline, and mutual intelligibility.

The top portion is the "Origins" section, coloured green, and includes the entries: The First Hero Skyward Sword The First Hero of the Four Sword Minish Cap Four Sword

The First Hero of the Four Sword is marked as a separate language, because in this work he's Picori, so he speaks the Picori language not a version of Hylian.

The First Hero and Skyward Sword speak similar language, but not the same; Skyward Sword and Minish Cap era would also be similar, but some difficulty understanding eg. Spanish and Portuguese or Spanish and French degrees of separation.

Ocarina of Time is marked out separately as the spoke from which the rest branch off. It's of limited comprehension with Twilight Princess, Link to the Past, and Minish Cap, and none with Wind Waker.

In Adult Timeline, coloured blue (right hand side), there is: Wind Waker Phantom Hourglass Spirit Tracks

Linguistically, this section is isolated in every respect except for the script. Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks are isolated languages (which absolutely can happen while using the same script), and Wind Waker lost the language in common use in Ocarina of Time and therefore has no comprehension going backwards or across to Twilight Princess or Link to the Past, despite similar degrees of remove in time.

In Child Timeline, coloured yellow (center), there is: Majora's Mask Twilight Princess Four Swords Adventures Hyrule Warriors

Linguistically, this section is a gradient, disregarding Majora's Mask which gets a separate language tag bc it's not Hyrule. Twilight Princess is of limited comprehension to Ocarina of Time and Four Swords Adventures, but likely is unintelligible to Minish Cap and Hyrule Warriors and vice versa. In every instance, each entry on an orange line gets progressively less similar the more points you move away from the origin.

Let me start with the BOTW/TOTK question. "10,000 Years" is the kind of statement that places the story in mythic history: whatever accurate information it may have, the time period is not necessarily one of them. As such, I match the Imprisoning War to the war referenced in LttP, and the FIrst Calamity to Hyrule's "Golden Age" post LbW and before LOZ, matching it up by a few generations to the original time period of AOL's Zelda.

Several locations here are not in Hyrule, and therefore get the purple marker for separate languages; several others are close enough in time to be considered the same language. LOZ/AOL and BOTW/TOTK are canonically less than ten years apart; LttP and LbW are presented as similar enough maps and worlds that it's likely been a century or less different. Similarly, due to the time periods likely matching up, LttP and LbW are comprehensible with TP , OoT, and FSA but not with HW and neither is LOZ/AOL. Finally, I consider the time period gap between LOZ/AOL and BOTW/TOTK to be signficant enough to render it incomprehensible, in much the same way OoT and WW are.

Other Language Matters:

Because several of my Links use sign language, I made notes about who, in what era, was using different ones. Because the notes are primarily for art purposes, I gave them as glossed entries, which is to say when I draw Kokiri signing, he will be using ASL as a stand in for Gerudo sign language; then I draw Prince or Rabbit signing, they will be using BSL for Hylian sign language. When I draw Hateno signing, it will be AUSLAN, which is derived from BSL (whereas ASL is derived from French Sign Language and therefore is not related.) This is not meant as an exhaustive list, but only as notes of the ones I have decided on.

With regards to the script notes, it is absolutely possible for them to both come and go in that way and to cross time periods. Marked are:

Main verse, when I actually feel like tagging it. Takes place ambiguously during the events of TotK to the point where I have reached in the game - Link does not have the Master Sword, has not beaten all the shrines, and certainly has not defeated Ganondorf.

FELL APART  — v ; before it all fell apart [pre-calamity]

Verse for any threads set prior to the events of BotW - this can include AU verses, Age of Calamity verses, or general threads set during Link's childhood and training years. Note: Link may make frequent reference to his best friend, Greis - his info is listed under the "other info" section of my pinned.

Verse tag for any general BotW threads or threads set between BotW and TotK.

AU in which Link was taken in and raised by a Gerudo woman at Kara Kara bazaar after he was orphaned during a trip with his father. Link grew up training with the guards stationed at the bazaar and was nearby when Princess Zelda was attacked by Yiga - his act would lead him to become the Hylian Champion, despite his adoption into the Gerudo clan. Events of BotW will still affect him the same way.

TWIN AU — v ; two sides of courage [ twin au ] * Exclusive to @ gloryseized

Verse where two Heroes were born - twins Rin (dutifulsilence) and Shion (gloryseized). Inseparable, the twins were both named Champions, both protected the Princess, and both were placed in the Shrine of Resurrection to later defeat the Calamity together. When the Upheaval struck, both were struck heavy blows to their sword-arms; Shion would receive Rauru's arm, where Rin seemed to have come off lucky - until they discovered Ganondorf's gloom was slowly corrupting Rin from the inside out.

CORRUPTION AU — v ; how hard this hero's fallen [ corruption au ]

General tag for any and all threads in which Link becomes fully corrupted by the gloom in his body and falls under Ganondorf's power. Specific plots with specific muses may get a secondary verse tag.

OLD TOWN ROAD — v ; to the old town road [modern au]

Modern day verse, where Link is a student at Hyrule University, majoring in engineering with a minor in ancient Hyrulean history. He works part time as a cook in a family restaurant, though he is fairly well-known for his cooking videos on TikTok.

Pokémon AU -- Link has Pokemon, pretty much what it says on the tin. This verse kind of acts like a weird mash of Pokemon and Hyrule though, basically Link's story if Pokemon were present the whole time. BotW based

Raised Gerudo!Link -- BotW based. Link was raised as a child of the Gerudo rather than in Hateno. BotW based

Role swap!au Link -- Link and Zelda switch places! Especially focusing on totk plotline, but could be a catch all for other swaps too

Villain AU!Link -- features both corrupted verse and raised by Yiga!Link verse

Twin!Link verses -- What's better than one Link? More Links! Link mostly will go by Shion on this verse

Pokémon AU -- Akira has Pokemon. This is more of a reimaging of the Phantom Thieves in the Pokemon world. So less working in the Metaverse and probably more actual crime

Urban Fantasy AU -- Akira is paired with the Cat trickster spirit and works with a group of other supernatural creatures to maintain the balance between the mundane and magical words

Villian!Akira -- Akira takes Goro's place as the bad guy

Fool Arcana!Akira -- non-MC verse for Akira. He has the Trickster Arcana rather than the Wild Card. Think of it as Akira taking Igor's place to helping the new protag power up

There is nothing like trying to figure out what I want to put as "main verse" to realize how many details I don't want to "set in stone".

Like, I definitely have basic ideas that remain consistant, but I keep thinking of what will be put as that baseline, and think "okay but what if". And I did mean to have the main verse and then have a page or a tag or something about "parallel verses" that are this sort of what if, even "alternate verses" for wanting to play with ideas that have nothing to do with the main verse, but the issue?

The issue is that I keep sitting here not knowing what I want to be "main verse" and what I want to be "parallel verses". Like for example: the five muses meet when they land in Wild's world. But is it post-BotW and pre-TotK, or is it post-TotK? There were reasons that it was supposed to be post-TotK, but I also love the idea of the other boys seeing Wild's world just after the defeat of the Calamity, aka still pretty wild and beautiful yet full of hints that they lived through pretty much an apocalypse, and that they help Hyrule rebuild.

I could maybe figure out a way to have both ideas work together (time shenangians maybe?), but that'll require a bit more effort. And as far as I'm concerned, since I'm not trying to make a coherent story out of it, I can just mention both ideas, since the exact scenario won't always be relevant to a post. And when it is, its pretty evident which ideas I'm developing, or if its generic enough to work for both.

So yeah, the more I'm trying to work on the "main verse" page, the more I'm realizing that my "main verse" is more fluid than I first realized. Which mean that I might need to rework slightly how it's presented, and figure out what information I want in pages (the first thing someone new might want to check out, the thing that I hope gives a basic idea of what to expect), and what I want in tagged posts (the "details" and depth given to the ideas that someone might not see right away).

I'll get there sooner or later, but yeah that's why the blog still has WIP pages and its likely I might need to rework a bit some pages. I don't have too many posts yet either, so between the WIP pages and said posts, you can get a decent idea of some main aspect of the crossover. There hasn't been much yet about the individual stories though, so I'll just say a few words now~!

Peter: is set a few months post NWH, but my ideas for him include rewinding time, Tony and other characters recalling the old future, and forging a better future that what they had gotten the first time.

Allen: is based on my ideas from Meet me Halfway to the End, he's set while on the run, but before being found by anyone, and at the time of making this post, I haven't yet added a second bonus to MHE that details the ideas for Allen. The very short summary is that Allen is the Spirit of Creation of his world, Stuff Happened, he died and reformed as a mortal human, and will eventually awaken his spirit powers and form.

Wild: has a whole plotline for both games I had been playing with before I added him into the crossover, is canon divergent, and wakes up from the shrine with a connection to the land, the wilderness, nature. By the end of BotW, he's closer to a spirit than mortal, by the end of TotK, he's an immortal spirit. I also have ideas for my own personal spin on "multiple Link meets for a new quest"!

Ireth: that boy has had a journey, he was first a canon divergent lavellan (born from an OC clan but raised by Lavellan after the murder of his birth clan), then he got a crossover backstory (during the murder of his clan, something happen that send him into the DGM world and he grows there), and finally he's got the crossover family background (he's sent to Wild world with the other instead). I have zero idea how divergent the DAI events will be, there's so many ways it can go I'm likely not going to settle on anything specific. edit: i forgot to mention, he's also half-spirit, half-elf!

WWX: is set when he's dying during the first siege, and eventually he'll be called by MXY ritual. He might be able to stop the ritual and/or save MXY, or not, depends what I want to go with. I don't have much idea unfortunately, only a vague "might cause canon divergent events", or that some ideas from my fics can be used. Unlike the other characters whose personal fic/fic idea worked well into my crossover, I don't really want to use one or both of the two fics I have with WWX. One doesn't really work since its set before his death, and I really love the whole "the other boys help WWX heal from his death and everything that lead to it", the other is set post canon but has time travel in it. On one side, it might be fun as WWX and Peter might bond over this, on another, it's again that loss of "WWX healing from his death with the boys". And I could say that they meet at his death, then canon events happen (divergent or not) after MXY ritual, and then my fic idea happen (time travel), but I kind of don't want to?

So yeah, as you can see, I do have ideas for each muse, with different degree of how much I know and how much I'm still working out, and how much I don't want to "set in stone". Poor WWX really had the short straw in term of what I know I want to do, but then again, in my head, his part in the crossover was always about how he gains more family, and heal, and kind of have peace you know? And then he's drawn back into his world and he's lowkey panicking because I always planned for this to happen at a bad timing (other muse(s) are in trouble), so he's like. Concerned about the whole hand fiasco, happy to see LWJ again (note: thanks to the other boys, WWX is self aware of his feelings), but also pissed off and concerned and "let me return to my family damn it!!".

Then again, Ireth also has no specific details for the DAI events, so I guess WWX having so few details about his canon events post-resurection works, too.

That was a long post, but I wanted to share about the character specific ideas, plus how it's been going working on the blog, hope you enjoy it!

So I gave a brief overview response here and i'm gonna tag the couple posts i've made here and there under 'tellie's history of lorule' and 'the saga of hilda'.

So there are a couple versions (aus of my au ahaha), depending on Game Canon or LU verse, and mostly what I have at the moment is the LU version (so there will eventually be a couple extra Ravios than the ones I'm about to list). I also have their adventures planned out (though i'm still tweaking things here and there). (i also have ships planned out. it's uh. 90% hildavio because it's like zelink but the dark chocolate version). I'm also working on figuring out all the Hilda's characters! They're taking a bit longer but I can answer some basic facts about each of them.

But! For the LU version, we have a group of Ravios being dragged back and forth through time and space for... some reason... still need to figure that part out. But our groups are *drumroll*

Zelda's magic does not come as easily to her after the Sealing, with no threat against Hyrule to be used against, but she can still access it. She is still trying to adjust to having been in the castle for a hundred years and struggling to figure out what she wants for her kingdom from this point on.

Main TotK verse if I feel like specifying. Zelda is constantly in and out of the the main timeline, using her Time magic to travel between the Eras to do what she can to help Link grow stronger and defeat Ganondorf.

❰ ❄ ― verse.01. gray. ❱

Post-war (typically at least a few months after it, but can be immediately after depending on plotting): He thought he’d been doing okay with everything. Finally felt a little settled, even getting his head around Fairy Tail suddenly being back. But then the war…the war truly was like nothing else he’d ever faced. He nearly died. His close friends and many others nearly died (some did die) and he almost became consumed by his demonic magic in a killing rage. It left him shaken. He’s not yet ready to try returning to how things were, he’s not sure if it’s even possible. He’s not sure he trusts himself around anyone either.  And so he has decided to take leave of Fairy Tail, and will only consider returning and having his guildmark once more if he’s finally sure of himself and his own path (he may even decide against returning to the guild-mage life). For now, he’s got a base in the northern Fiorean mountains but he makes trips in all directions for weeks at a time, helping with the rebuilding efforts where he can. He doesn’t like to stay anywhere around people for too long, as part of him feels he brings destruction and misfortune wherever he goes, it’s why he’s hesitating to return to the place he really wants to go - his hometown.

Anytime Post Avatar/Pre-war/War (can also include if he Stayed in FT post war): Like many, he was left shaken after the events of Tartaros, but unlike the others, he also had to learn how to handle the incredibly powerful demon slaying magic given to him. He disappeared to the mountains to try and cope with everything and get a handle on the new magic. But hearing of Fairy Tail’s disbandment threw him off further and caused a spike in the demonic magic, dark markings appearing across his body. He had to seek help from Porlyusica. It was around that time that he ran into Erza and they argued about Fairy Tail. She managed to ease away some of his bitterness with a Nakama Power™ speech and they ended up teaming up for the Avatar job (Gray did not abandon Juvia without a word btw). After the ordeal with Avatar came to an end, and he got through the trials (because he was arrested and screened heavily for his involvement, regardless of what his intentions had been). He rejoined Fairy Tail for the revival. They rescued Makarov from Alvarez and have the threat of war looming over them.

Avatar: Gray is posing as a member of Avatar and walks along the edge of darkness and madness for it. He has to do whatever it takes to maintain his position and learn whatever he can. Due to consistent use of his demon slaying magic to keep up appearances, the dark ice is at times fracturing his sanity and beginning to encase his heart. This verse can also include him becoming completely Evil™ and losing himself to the demon magic at any point in the future timeline.

Post-Avatar, Gray does not return for the Fairy Tail revival, instead continues to team up with Crime Sorciere, as his goal is to defeat E.N.D and Zeref and it aligns with theirs. This verse can also include Gray not being involved with Avatar at all and simply joining CS during the disbandment year in general. Either case, this connection to them, along with his demonic mage and the danger it presents, pulls him into a similar situation to the CS members with their conditional pardons/probations where he is put under the supervision of Yukino.

This verse can probably be tweaked to work for most fantasy/medieval settings but is mostly made with the BotW game in mind. Anyone who lived in the harsh, cold lands of the Hebra region had to be hardworkers, survivors. Gray was no exception, especially not after the death of his family at the hands of a horde of monsters when he was young. Left on his own, he eventually picked up the tools his blacksmith father had left behind and began to work the trade. As an adult now, and highly skilled in his craft, he sells (or sometimes trades) the weapons and armour he makes. When he’s not forging or selling, he’s out exploring and fighting monsters, looking for new materials and for a way to be rid of monsters for good. While typically a lone wolf, he has formed a party with certain people at times in order to have the best chance at exploring particular areas. He has a horse named Snowfall and a dog called Blizzard.

A trainer specializing in the training of ice types, he originates from a village near Snowpoint City, Sinnoh. When he was young, his hometown was destroyed by a rampaging pokemon, (but no, his family actually survives in this verse), believed to be the legendary Palkia, and it was that day that he swore revenge. After learning about pokemon and battling from a specialist, he set out on his journey to continue learning and training, always working towards the goal of defeating Palkia. His on hand team consists of Sneasel, Abomasnow, Floatzel, Lucario, Alolan Sandslash, and Alolan Vulpix.

—-˚・✳︎ . Link had DEMANDED they seek an inn. Which, took both men for surprise for he was not one to put his foot down so strongly. The young lad wished for Ray to be able to rest well, so that the wound on his arm could heal properly. At first, the demon REFUSED the offer. Speaking of how strong he was, that this was nothing but a flesh wound. The cut would be gone before they would know it -- but Link did not back down. Suppose it was him WISHING to make it up to his new friend.  Not to start their companionship on the wrong foot. Defeated the allowed Link to rush on ahead to find lodging for the three of them.

When the not-so-merry-men found each other again, Link was overjoyed! He had found what he believed to be PERFECT! There was one private room left for his friends to have. He knew that his new partners valued their privacy greatly-- this would be wonderful! ( he would sleep in he community lodging -- Link did not mind as long as the bed was soft! ) 

Yet -- they walked into the chamber to find only one bed. 

“...Take it. I don’t sleep much anyway.” Ray rested the bags at the foot of the bed ( mostly Dinmaire’s things, for Ray barley had anything that wasn’t the clothes on his back ).

     WHEN LINK AWAKENS, so does something within zelda. a power that she hadn’t known was possible allows her to separate from most of her divinity, leaving most of her power with ganon to continue to hold him back in the castle, but her body & self appear in the sanctum where she had last stood a century prior. the memory of her time locked a century with ganon is blurry & nonlinear, & , as such, lost is any of the reasoning & understanding of how she had done such a thing & the reasoning behind such a conclusion that it must be done. but, she knows the reason she has been set upon the world.

     AFTER A BRIEF, sneaky scavenging trip throughout the castle for clothing & an impulsive decision to cut her hair ( a bit longer than botw2 length ) to ensure anonymity, she enters the world anew, coming up with the alias of  azalea

     HER FIRST ORDER of business is to acquire lodging & food ( curtesy of the rupees gained from selling a few of the relics & materials she’d brought with her from the castle ), & then she can set upon her task to find link once he descends from the great plateau. though she has questions about just how to find him & how she can convince him to allow her to join him, there is no one to ask. she’ll just have to tackle each problem as they come. 

     BUT WITH ONLY a bit of her already unreliable power at hand, it all falls to her trust in herself.
