Harry Potter Ace/Aro-Spec Fest

This fest is created to highlight any character who you see as asexual, aromantic, or anywhere on those spectrums.  Any era, any age, anyone.  Give me your QPRs, your sex-repulsed lovey-doveys, your hypersexual aromantics, and everything else you got.  As long as you give me a main character from the HP fandom who is a-spec, your work has a home with this fest.  Accepting fic, fanart, podfics, any medium your heart desires to give us.

WHAT IS YOUR OTP FOR YOUR CHARACTER(S)?

In his most original creation, 10 years ago, Esmé was attached to a witch named Alice. He was charged with protecting her and his soul was bonded with hers. He fell deeply in love with her. I will always have a soft place in my heart for that ship, and if Alice's writer is out there somewhere I wish them nothing but happy days and to know I think about those two so very often.

As for presently - I only have 2 ships established on Esmé currently and I am deeply adoring both of them.

HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?

This will always be on a case-by-case scenario. Esmé is 35 minimum in his canon, pending younger for verses. In canon the most I would be comfortable would be perhaps 10 years? I feel as if a fresh twenty year old has a lot to learn and can too easily be exploited by older partners, so I'd like to steer away from inciting any of that dynamic or presentation. I can easily see him being involved with someone older than he is, however. There's not really a limit upward from 35. But again, it's all case-by-case, depending on the muses involved and the dynamic.

ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?

I can be. Mostly I look for chemistry with the muses and chemistry writing. We don't have to know each other intimately out of character --- the aforementioned mun who wrote Alice and I did not speak much out of character aside from dynamics on the occasion (things that reminded us of the muses) but we gelled very well with how we wrote and the chemistry was there. It really comes down to writing styles and interest in the ship itself. If one side is giving more than the other and it's obvious that they aren't really interested, it's easy to lose the feel in general.

WHO ARE OTHER CHARACTERS YOU SHIP YOUR CHARACTER WITH?

I'm open to anything, mostly. No taboo topics, nothing squicky, and Esmé is a bit pickier with his partners / who he has interest in but if all of the right boxes are checked I'll give it a whirl.

DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU?

All you have to say is "I ship this, do you?" I don't require much more, and a lot of people are shy or misread things. Just for clarification, sure. And if I don't see the ship that doesn't mean I won't in the future - it just likely means we need to write or discuss the dynamic more.

ARE YOU SHIP-OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS?

I won't say obsessed but I'm tired of tiptoeing and pretending I'm not interested in ships of all kinds. Character relationships are what drive our development at the end of the day. So I'd say in-between, ship favorable.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SHIP IN YOUR CURRENT FANDOM?

I'm not in any particular fandom but some favorite ships are: Spike and Julia from Cowboy Bebop, Kerrigan and Raynor from Starcraft, Ana Amari and Reinhardt from Overwatch, Fiona and Sean from Shameless, Wolfgang and Kala from Sense8.

the walking dead (verses). more to come!

i. the walking dead canon -- there's no humanity when the dead come back to feed you gotta fight em. (chapter ix). season one dean. season one twd. when the dead came back, dean was in the florida panhandle hunting a monster in the swamp. sam was at stanford and john was off on his own chasing demons. he had no idea that all hell broke loose for two days into it because he was in the woods with no signal. when he got back to his car along the service route and, finally, reached i-10? that's when he first caught a glimpse of what was going on. more details in verse once i write it. but he did wind up in georgia and, with luck, ran into shane's group before rick woke up. he's been with them since making his way towards the only place he knows where his brother is and holding onto the smallest shred of hope that he might find him again. (john to be encountered before sam. maybe virginia??)

ii. the walking dead au -- tag pending. season two dean. season two twd. the boys just reunited when the dead rose and were on the case in the florida panhandle when it happened. they found rick's group together. but when the prison fell, were separated with each of them fearing the worst. dean wound up on his own with _____ (twd canon that might want to jump in, any will do!) while sam ended up with _____ (wherever the plot goes dependent on partner) and the two won't reunite until the cabin. or, even, possibly after. alexandria or sanctuary timeline? could be interesting.

iii. the walking dead au2 // savior dean -- tag pending. same as season two but dean ends up being found by the sancutary. while he is a savior, he hates negan's brutality and is aligned with dwight. they may be laying low enough to work towards negan's end. he plays the part well. doesn't allow the brutality of the others to infiltrate his group when he's out on runs. and brings back what is asked because people merely fear the saviors and he uses that reputation as a weapon instead of cold-blooded murder. til rick's group shows up and then it might be time to bring negan down once and for all with a whole group of people who deserve justice for what's been done to them. sidenote: dean wants to trust them. but, also, barely trusts anyone in this verse due to him and dwight's mission. he's smart enough to know that rick's group probably defended themselves against bud's group. all things considered. but, trust is earned and dean's comes with a high price tag. bonus points if sammy is with rick's group. for extra drama!

And a funny coincidence to note here is that, the people who ship these non-canon ships are usually the ones who are nice, friendly, and welcoming. While the people who ship the canon ships are usually the ones who are toxic and rude.

Today, I had an argument with a hater who called me dumb because of my fangirl moment on a post. 😑 And so sometimes, I think to myself. Why is it that I find myself shipping non-canon couples? What is it with me that I find other people to ship than what is already pronounced in the series?

But then again, I realize I'm not only shipping couples just for the heck of it. And just because they're canon, doesn't necessarily obligate me to ship them.

I ship and pair people when I see the romance potential in them, when their dynamics can bring fire to the story, or when they can compliment or align with each other in ways I see fit. It's not just about the lovey dovey stuff for me. It is also the understanding, cooperation, trust, functionality, and compatibility that I can see in them that makes a good and healthy ship for me.

If I see that in a canon couple, then I won't have any problems shipping them. That's all the better. But if not, then it's not necessarily a bad thing.

So to you my fellow shippers of the ships mentioned above, don't lose heart over these toxic people. Your choices and preferences don't necessarily define you. It is our attitude on how we handle our ships that does.

Nobody is perfect. But here's to hoping for a fun and healthy social media experience for everyone ~ ❤️

So I stumbled upon this and...

I almost forgot that young Mikasa always kept Eren in line. Like she always throws him around or punches him whenever he does anything stupid or foolish. Like she gets him back to his senses.

This young girl at the tender age of 9 can be this sensible, rational, and level-headed. And yet the same girl at the age of 19 goes, "What should we do about Eren?"

I know there wouldn't be a story if the rumbling wouldn't happen. But still. She could have bitch-slapped him all the way to Marley if she wanted to.

But Yams said NO. We need the toxic relationship and Stockholm Syndrome to happen here 😑

It's a shame that not even one of my actual works (e.g arts, edits, fics or AMVs) made it to the top 5. But I guess that's how it is.

RULES

Short, sweet, and to the point. Follow these rules and we all have a great time.

Mutuals only. I must be following you and you must be following me. Only those that I follow can like starter calls, send in character asks, and reply to posts.

1a. I will not interact with non-Mutuals, that includes asks, unless it’s done anonymously and it doesn’t have a url attached. Anyone who breaks this rule will get about a few pardons but after that will be blocked.

My time is limited here in what I can do. This means that I am very selective in what I reply to. Doesn’t necessary mean that I am ignoring anyone. Some days I reply to everything and everyone, others I am so burnt out from irl things or work that I just lurk and do the bare minimum. My mental health and well-being comes before anything else.

2a. Replies vary by length and time. I normally work eight to ten hours a day and experience a lot of exhaustion. Unless I don’t see a thread or an ask going anywhere and publicly make a post saying it’s been dropped, consider everything as pending / will do ASAP. Memes are okay to send in late unless it clearly states, not accepting. My timezone is Eastern Standard Time or EST. United States is where I am located at. I am usually online from 10 PM EST to 3 AM EST unless it’s a day off from work, which the online time will vary from 12 PM EST to 3 AM EST.

2b. Role-playing is a hobby, not a job. Do not pester me for replies or asks to be answered. I am not obligated to owe anyone anything on this website. I am human and can’t cater to everyone’s needs. Being persistent here is not going to make me answer yours faster than other people.

2c. Don’t follow, unfollow, and then refollow my blog. It’s not going to make me want to follow you back, ever. It’s annoying and no one is being crafty by doing that. If you continue to do this and it isn’t a tumblr glitch, I will be inclined to block and possibly report for spam.

If you do need to break mutuals with me, HARD BLOCK my blog. Don’t just UNFOLLOW or SOFT BLOCK because chances are that I could mistakenly follow you again. And that’s something we both don’t want since it would be quite awkward.

3a. I have the right to unfollow whoever I want to and so do you. Please don’t go on a hunt and try to guilt trip me into following you back again. Just don’t. I can and will tell you the reason why I unfollowed you but other than that, just let me leave in peace.

3b. Personal blogs and non RP blogs will be blocked on site. Please, if you have a side blog let me know through asks so I don’t accidentally block you. IMs are not a good way to let me know since they are closed for non-mutuals.

Duplicates are welcomed to follow me. The more the merrier. I do not suffer from same muse anxiety and encourage any of the same muse to follow me. Only request is that you don’t steal my headcanons, edits or icons. Other than that, we should all be able to have a good time. I’m always up for twin verses or alternate universes shenanigans.

4a. Original Characters are allowed to follow me. However, they need to be a little flesh out before I make a decision to follow them back or not. Just a small backstory or biography is all that I need. Headcanons also work if there isn’t an about page but must have about one page worth for me to consider following.

4b. Crossover Characters from other shows are allowed to follow me but I must know about said muse or else I’ll have a hard time whether to follow or not. Few fandoms I won’t interact with because I have no interest in these series are: Avatar the Last Airbender, Avatar the Legend of Korra. ( more to be added ).

I am a multi-ship blog. Tashigi is in her 20s during the entire series and as such, I will only be shipping her romantically with muses around her age range which is late 30s to early 20s ( 19 is the lowest I would be willing to go). Some threads may get a little spicy but nothing that requires a ‘do not read at work’ type of posts. I will tag those post that are suggestive with a ‘spicy: tw & spicy for ts’ and ‘I don’t fraternalize with pirates…most of the time’ for blacklisting purposes.

5a. I am open to all kinds of ships, not just romantic ones. I also enjoy platonic, rivalry, and familiar bonds. All ships are open to discussions through my IM(s) or otherwise known as Instant Messenger. Chemistry is key. As long as we interact a little, there’s always the chance that both muses can be in a relationship.

Things for you to tag for me are: BIRDS, CHAIN LETTERS, ORGANS, DOGS. For the birds and dogs, just in real life ones trigger me. I am fine with cartoon / art / video game ones as they are not real.

6a. Things I’ll tag for you: BLOOD, GORE, DEATH, BODY HORROR, EYE HORROR, INSECTS, MAGGOTS, BRUISES, SCARS, GUNS, KNIVES, CLOWNS. If there are anything I missed that you want tagged, please let me know through IM(s).

I hardly get asks as it is, and for you to just use me as a meme source puts a bad taste in my mouth and I feel like I’m being used, which isn’t a good feeling. If you wonder if you should send in a meme to me, please do. I love getting asks. I do hoard them from time to time like a dragon hoards treasure but I do get to them eventually. The more memes / asks, the merrier.

9a. Feel free to turn inbox replies into threads. Just remember to make separate post when replying. Do not reblog threads not meant for you and don’t reblog my headcanons. It’s okay to reblog my asks though if you want them to be keepsakes on your own blog. Also, it’s alright to reblog musings and images from me.

I rather not be bothered by callout posts and any potential drama that might accumulate. I am just here to have fun and I hope everyone else can too. Life is too short to spend on certain things that don’t matter in the long run. If I see multiple call out posts from you in a single day or that’s all you post, I will quietly unfollow you. Out of character posts will be on here from time to time. Mostly talking about life in general or me venting once in a great while. 11a. The best way to interact with me is to send memes / asks / inbox things. I am always up for unprompted things in my inbox. Cuz Luca brainrot go brrrrrr. What I have is that he is considered the quieter one of the trio. He's not quite as confident in himself as his sisters, and he likes to think more on things rather than rushing in head first. But, that doesn't keep him from getting into the same wild shenanigans as his sisters, and he definitely has his moments of pure troublemaking.

His favorite thing to do at any given point is skateboarding, a skill he's honed since he was a little kid and that gives him that comfort and even a confidence boost whenever he's riding. It's a sort of therapeutic outlet for him and he hardly ever goes anywhere without his board.

He has already begun hormone treatment, and has the full love and support from both his sisters and their mom. Luca was also the one Luz came to first about their own pronouns and identity, something that really touched him and was ready to help them out with as best he could.

     There are times when you have to be stealthy; stake out a marked target, learn the architectural blueprints to the building you’re sneaking into, or picking something highly valuable or important off someone who really should have known better.

     Then, there are the times were you just do shit in broad fucking daylight.

     This? This is the latter.

     A transport vehicle was thrown onto it’s side in the middle of the street, several cars had crashed into various poles or into buildings, and pedestrians were running away screaming. Classic villain play.

     Thankfully, no civvies were...severely injured. There were the ones in the cars who were unconscious or otherwise incapacitated. But no casualties, so good enough, right?

i don’t know how to write this post except by writing it, so: over the past month and a half i have written a now-finished 25k+ word explicit a/b/o series featuring the wizard polycule and i have uploaded it to a second separate ao3 account.

an extended author’s note below about motivations/lessons learned

why did i do this? i am semi-open about writing fanfiction irl and i have a consistent username across many platforms. i do not want a coworker to be able to find my Extremely Online smut with a quick google. i’ve thought about making separate accounts for a long time and took the plunge on a whim

but why did i really do this? i’ve had a crippling “rules for me but not for thee” mindset for years where i didn’t want to write anything too weird or too dark even though i truly never judge anyone else for writing whatever the hell they want. writing this series made me realize how much shame and guilt i had about certain things that i didn’t even realize i was carrying. it’s all silly. i wish to be free 🤷‍♂️

it was, and honestly still is, more important to me to protect my peace in fandom spaces than it is to actually write every single thing that comes into my brain. maybe this will change. i have, at the very least, opened up some new space for myself

what did i learn from doing this? well, this series is officially the second longest thing i’ve written for critrole so far (blood moon pending). i can write a lot and quite quickly when i’m not hung up on quality (i uploaded most of these fics the same day that i finished them). i’ve been reminded of how awesome it feels when you’re writing something that feels niche but you find a handful of people who are really into it right with you 😊

but! i am certain that i would’ve liked the end product more if i had written and edited it as a cohesive whole instead of throwing it up piecemeal as i went along. i obviously didn’t expect this whole universe to spiral out from something i literally wrote in one sitting while lying on my kitchen floor, so i don’t regret doing this the way i did, but there’s a lot of gender and desire stuff in here that i wish i could’ve explored better. the ‘verse is perfect for it and i don’t know when i’ll have the time/energy/want to circle back to writing something Very Similar But Better

i am very glad i did this though, it has been an incredibly rewarding experience and i do think some little bits of my character work were awesome actually. 10/10 would recommend getting a secret ao3 account just to fuck around and see what you can find out

RULES

Short, sweet, and to the point. Follow these rules and we all have a great time.

1. Mutuals only. I must be following you and you must be following me. Only those that I follow can like starter calls, send in character asks, and reply to posts.

1a. I will not interact with non-Mutuals, that includes asks, unless it’s done anonymously and it doesn’t have a url attached.  Anyone who breaks this rule will get about a few pardons but after that will be blocked.

2. My time is limited here in what I can do. This means that I am very selective in what I reply to. Doesn’t necessary mean that I am ignoring anyone. Some days I reply to everything and everyone, others I am so burnt out from irl things or work that I just lurk and do the bare minimum. My mental health and well-being comes before anything else.

2a. Replies vary by length and time. I normally work eight to ten hours a day and experience a lot of exhaustion. Unless I don’t see a thread or an ask going anywhere and publicly make a post saying it’s been dropped, consider everything as pending / will do ASAP. Memes are okay to send in late unless it clearly states, not accepting. My timezone is Eastern Standard Time or EST. United States is where I am located at. I am usually online from 10 PM EST to 3 AM EST unless it’s a day off from work, which the online time will vary from 12 PM EST to 3 AM EST.

2b.  Role-playing is a hobby, not a job. Do not pester me for replies or asks to be answered. I am not obligated to owe anyone anything on this website. I am human and can’t cater to everyone’s needs.  Being persistent here is not going to make me answer yours faster than other people.

2c. Don’t follow, unfollow, and then refollow my blog. It’s not going to make me want to follow you back, ever. It’s annoying and no one is being crafty by doing that. If you continue to do this and it isn’t a tumblr glitch, I will be inclined to block and possibly report for spam.

3. If you do need to break mutuals with me, HARD BLOCK my blog. Don’t just UNFOLLOW or SOFT BLOCK because chances are that I could mistakenly follow you again. And that’s something we both don’t want since it would be quite awkward.

3a. I have the right to unfollow whoever I want to and so do you. Please don’t go on a hunt and try to guilt trip me into following you back again. Just don’t. I can and will tell you the reason why I unfollowed you but other than that, just let me leave in peace.

3b. Personal blogs and non RP blogs will be blocked on site. Please, if you have a side blog let me know through asks so I don’t accidentally block you. IMs are not a good way to let me know since they are closed for non-mutuals.

4. Duplicates are welcomed to follow me. The more the merrier. I do not suffer from same muse anxiety and encourage any of the same muse to follow me. Only request is that you don’t steal my headcanons, edits or icons. Other than that, we should all be able to have a good time. I’m always up for twin verses or alternate universes shenanigans.

4a. Original Characters are allowed to follow me. However, they need to be a little flesh out before I make a decision to follow them back or not. Just a small backstory or biography is all that I need. Headcanons also work if there isn’t an about page but must have about one page worth for me to consider following.

4b. Crossover Characters from other shows are allowed to follow me but I must know about said muse or else I’ll have a hard time whether to follow or not. Few fandoms I won’t interact with because I have no interest in these series are: Avatar the Last Airbender, Avatar the Legend of Korra. ( more to be added ).

5. I am a multi-ship blog. All ships are separate in their own standings. Most of my muses are in the 20-30 range. As such, I will only be shipping them romantically with muses their own age range ( 19 to late 30s ). Some threads may get a little spicy for mu muses but nothing that requires a ‘ do not read at work’ type of posts. I will tag those post that are suggestive with a ‘spicy: tw & spicy for ts’ for blacklisting purposes.

5a. I am open to all kinds of ships, not just romantic ones. I also enjoy platonic, rivalry, and familiar bonds. All ships are open to discussions through my IM(s) or otherwise known as Instant Messenger. Chemistry is key. As long as we interact a little, there’s always the chance that both muses can be in a relationship.

6. Things for you to tag for me are: BIRDS, CHAIN LETTERS, ORGANS, DOGS. For the birds and dogs, just irl ones trigger me. I am fine with cartoon / art / video game ones as they are not real.

6a. This blog will contain sensitive themes from time to time. However, I will tag common things like those mentioned below. If you need anything tagged, please let me know through instant messaging / IMs. Things I’ll tag for you are but not limited to: BLOOD, GORE, DEATH, BODY HORROR, EYE HORROR, INSECTS, MAGGOTS, BRUISES, SCARS, GUNS, KNIVES, CLOWNS.  

7. I am over the age of eighteen. However, I refuse to write smut as I am not comfortable with that subject to begin with and also the fact that some of the muses found here are MINORS which is a big huge NO. Please never force me to write this with you and if you keep sending things to me in this type of nature, I will report you, no questions asked.

7a. If I see any form of hate and I find out it was you that sent it, I will immediately BLOCK you. No questions asked. Life is too short to send unwanted hate, anon or not. All anon hate and hate towards me and my characters ( s ) in general will be reported and then blocked, no questions asked.

8. My pen name on here is SERE. Obliviously, that is not my real name but it’s what I go by. It’s short for ‘Serena’, the English name that DIC gave Usagi Tsukino in the Americanized version of Sailor Moon. It’s pronounced; SIR-REE.

9. I am not a meme source. If you need to reblog a meme from my blog and don’t plan to send me anything, reblog from the source. I hardly get asks as it is, and for you to just use me as a meme source puts a bad taste in my mouth and I feel like I’m being used, which isn’t a good feeling. If you wonder if you should send in a meme to me, please do. I love getting asks. I do hoard them from time to time like a dragon hoards treasure but I do get to them eventually. The more memes / asks, the merrier.

9a.  Feel free to turn inbox replies into threads. Just remember to make a separate post when replying. Do not reblog threads not meant for you and don’t reblog my headcanons. It’s okay to reblog my asks though if you want them to be keepsakes on your own blog. Also, it’s alright to reblog musings and images from me.

10. I rather not be bothered by callout posts and any potential drama that might accumulate. I am just here to have fun and I hope everyone else can too. Life is too short to spend on certain things that don’t matter in the long run. If I see multiple call out posts from you in a single day or that’s all you post, I will quietly unfollow you.

11.  Out of character posts will be on here from time to time. Mostly talking about life in general or me venting once in a great while. If this annoys you, please remember that this is my blog, not yours. You are welcomed to unfollow / block at any time.

11a.  The best way to interact with me is to send memes / asks / inbox things. I am always up for unprompted things in my inbox. Also, my instant messenger is always open if someone needs to contact me out of character or to plot something. Don’t hesitate to talk to me. I will try my best to respond.

11b. Not interacting after a month or two with me and my blog will make me silently unfollow you or result in a soft block. Or if you don’t interact with me at all, even out of character. Also, if you are gone for more than 6 months, I consider your blog inactive and will probably assume that you aren’t going to return.

12. I’m really laid-back in nature so don’t feel pressure to reply to anything I send to you. I understand that life happens and that sometimes you just need to unwind from the stress of daily life.

13. For pronouns; either SHE/HER or THEY/THEM is okay with me. My orientation is DEMIROMANTIC ASEXUAL. I love anime, manga, video games, music, drawing, and writing.
