FERNANDO ALVAREZ (left) Started his studies with Hernan Jerez in 1986 at the Cultural Center of Carora, Venezuela and carried on with the Master Jaime Martínez in Caracas, Venezuela. From 1996 until 2013 he was a member of the National System of Venezuelan Young Orchestras. In addition, he was the english horn solo of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra based on his country of origin, conducted by Alfredo Rugeles and Gustavo Dudamel. For several years he was part of the group «Carora en Concierto» where he played bandola, a self-taught instrument. He joined the «Avila Quartet» in 2014, where he plays oboe and bandola, as well as the group «Joropo Jam» in 2017. He shares his passion for music with the sciences as he obtained a physics degree from the Central University of Venezuela and a Master degree in Acoustics from the University of Aix-Marseille. ========= . LEO RONDON (right) He plays cuatro, guitar, mandoline, tiple, double bass and is a composer. He took the 3rd place in “La Siembra del Cuatro” in 2007, the 2nd place in “La Siembre del Cuatro” in 2012 and in 2011 the 2nd place in “El Silbón” and “San Martín”. After teaching cuatro soloist, music theory and doble bass at Merida School of Music (2003 – 2007), he has been an arranger of the “Orquesta Típica Merideña” (a venezuelan orchestra), a cuatro and doble bass player at the String Ensamble at the University of Los Andes and an arranger and composer for the “5 Numerao” ensamble. Since 2013 he is living in Paris. He started his musical studies at the Centro Universitario de Artes of the Los Andes University. He moves to Caracas and is accepted at the Escuela de Música Ars-Nova. Graduated from the Instituto Universitario de Estudios Musicales and specialized in Instrumental Performance: Mandolin and Guitar. He is the conductor of the instrumental chamber group “Multifonia”, professor at the Universidad Experimental de las Artes (UNEARTE), the Simón Bolívar Conservatory and is currently studying for a master degree in Latin American Musicology at the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV).
