“Mother?” Nuka’s ears pricked up the moment he saw the lioness out of his peripheral vision. A smile immediately perked against his muzzle and he jumped a few centimetres into the air. “Mother! I did everything you told me to! I watched Kovu and I trained with the others and then I went hunting and there were these Hyenas in the Outlands so I scared ‘em off and-”

“Not so fast, little cub!” A voice called out from the dry cavern of the Outlands. A moment later, claws skidded between crumbling rocks and a dishevelled lion landed on the dusty, cracked ground. “Where do you think you’re going?”

Nuka puffed at a stray hair that crossed his eyes. “Whatever, termite.” he scoffed. “Can’t a lion just walk around here?”

“I’d have thought you’d want Kovu to do something like this…” he admitted in a scornful mutter. Yet, she was giving him a chance; he couldn’t waste this moment. His ears pricked up. “But, I know I can do this better!”

LION KING 2: SIMBA’S PRIDE - SENTENCE MEME || accepting! || @daughtersofauradon
Nuka blinked, checking behind him in case another animal was standing slightly off to the side. Finding nothing but the savanna behind him, he had to assume she was talking about him. He pressed a paw to his chest.“Me?” he repeated, before pride took over him. “I mean, yeah! Of course! I’m the bravest!”

Nuka doesn’t respond. Instead, he simply backs away from the tiger, letting out an intermittent yell as he keeps checking over his haunches.

Nuka had been watching the shadow of a bird for at least ten minutes. The dark shape circling on the cracked, dry ground and distorting as it passed over rocks and dirt heaps made by termites. Mesmerised, he had hardly realised the silhouettes implications until he looked up.
Oh, typical. A vulture. He could already presume what he was after. Letting out a half-groan, half-roar, he hung his head. “I’m not dying, y’know!” he shouted out. “So you can buzz off, Vulture!” He huffed. “Nothing for you to see here.”

The adolescent lion was prowling over the border between the Outlands and the Pride Lands. His red eyes enviously swept over the luscious grass and trees, watching a herd of Bison graze in the distance.
Stupid banishment. Of course there was plenty of prey in the Pride Lands. As a grim reminder, his stomach growled at him. When was the last time he ate a full meal? He could hardly remember. It couldn’t hurt to just take...one, could it?
Sinking low to the ground, Nuka inched forward with his claws flexing against the dirt and began stalking a solitary Bison who had strayed too far from the herd. So focused, he forgot the important teaching his mother had always extended to him: Watch your surroundings.

The scarcity of water in the Outlands had always posed a problem. The animals that inhabited the barren wasteland were constantly scavenging for the few mere drips that flowed through the dust, making watering holes the most rivalled areas in the entire plain. Most Pridelanders would have advocated for ‘sharing’ and ‘spreading out’ the water, but the Outlanders - specifically the Outsiders - had other plans.
Even though Nuka had been warned to stay away from this watering hole, he had never been a feline for following rules. At least, any other rules that were not set by his Mother. Pacing towards the waters edge, he had only managed to take a small drink before he caught sight of a reflection in the water. “Oh, it’s you.” he groaned.

“Alright. On the count of three, we both make a wish.” he declared, his tail twitching behind him as the two of them sat out in the savanna. “One…two…three.”

“Hey...” Nuka stepped closer towards the volcanic rock at the head of the Outlands. “Hey, Ushari, right?”
