forest nymph au
Mariko was a little girl who loved nature, human but with a strong connection that went beyond that of her fellow beings. She would prance about in the grassy fields behind her home, and skip through the trees but not too far. Her father would warn her that if she strayed too far, she would get lost but the thought never really frightened her. Sure, the comforts of home were nice but the welcoming green of the forest was also home to her; so neither was any different to her.
One hot Summer day, she was feeling a little rebellious, and made the choice to go a few steps further into the forest. The shade from the leaves saved her from the seething heat of the sun, and the grass and soil beneath her feet cooled her skin, healing her from the harshness of the outside world. Mother Nature never failed to give her such comfort, nothing like the unforgiving contact of the other humans. The sweet, almost motherly touch that she never had lulled her into a blissful, dream-like state that she never awoke from, and before she knew it, the memory of her previous life faded into obscurity.
The nymph was a guardian of nature, skittish but fierce, and protective of the only family she had ever known. Shameless in her nakedness (after all, there was nothing to hide), she would skip and frolic through the trees, not much differently from the deer that would occasionally join her. Her childish nature was alive and thriving in spite of her developed figure. She was linked to the roots and voices of the forest, often feeling the agony in the creatures and the trees as their lives were repeatedly ripped and taken without mercy. Humans were inherently destructive, and paid no mind to the harm they inflicted upon those they viewed as inferior. She vowed to do away with any threats that would dare enter Her domain.
Ghastly cries would echo through the forest, calling for a name that did not match her own... but it did sound oddly familiar, as though she heard it in a dream. No matter, the disruptive monsters would be silenced as soon as she lured them close enough to the pond she would bathe in, drowning them before they realized their foolish mistake. As chaotic as they were, humans made for the easiest of prey. So gullible, so imprisoned by their own urges, so prone to flirting with their own demise. A simple stare and they were all Hers.
All that once remained could only be seen and heard from the far recesses of her mind, startling her awake with horrible head pains and sickness in the stomach. Then all was forgotten after a simple walk and/or soak, and she returned to the one and only life she knew. After all, Mother Nature knew best.
#v: green guardian (forest nymph au)#in the end she did get lost#theory that some of her victims might have been her dad and brothers who never stopped looking for her T_T </3

Little facts about nymph gurl:
Her skin is sturdier than a human's, fleshy but almost scale-like on the surface. Either a lizard, snake or fish blessed her with such a feature during her rebirth.
Berries are her favorite food, and she enjoys making a sort of fruit salad with other goodies from the generous forest. She likes to top it off with minty leaves as a garnish.
Meat is an occasional staple of her diet (like that of her animal friends), and she would hunt for either herself or alongside wolves and wild cats. Powerful bonds were built through this activity.
Her eyes are just as keen in the dark as a feline's, and her climbing abilities just as agile. If only her growls were as intimidating, sounding no different than a cub's.
Her control of the elements is limited to: communicating with trees and animals through a spiritual link, turning corpses into compost with a particular touch as she buries them, camouflaging herself against any backdrop (blessings from the elusive chameleon), growing gardens of flowers and lush vegetation with an enchanting song that breathes life (literally using her breath to breathe life into the soil and any place needing growth).
She's nakey for the most part but would often emerge from her favorite pond with moss and lily pads clinging to her figure, funnily in places that would cover her bits and pieces. Sometimes she would come out wearing a hat, complete with a croaking frog. :)
Her teeth are sharp for tearing into raw meat, and her fingers have sharp claws to use as weapons during those too-close-for-comfort encounters.
Her hair is freakishly long and unkempt, useful to use as a cushion or temporary Uber for the little creatures. After all, there's no salon in the wilderness, nor is there any need for one. In fact, the hairier, the better!
She doesn't see her body as inherently sexual but recognizes its use when luring filthy-minded men to their doom. If it means protecting her home, then she might as well make good use of it as a weapon.

"Yeah, I've had human before." She stuck out her tongue with a grimace of disgust. "Too stringy and dull for my taste."
