I never thought finding anti konoha fics would be this hard (really good ones, with Sasuke-centric without having any idolization of It*chi, or try to convince us and convince Sasuke that the Massacre was necessary (or not that important), or diminish it completely; or that aren't Sak*ra harem with all the Uchihas; or SasuH*na; or that doesn't portray Sasuke as being a terrible jerk who mistreats poor little Team 7; etc.) - 😩

It's really hard to find any fic that focuses specifically on Sasuke saying "fuck Konoha! bye". It's sad that his trauma is always downplayed so he can return to the village as if all those years of chasing to get justice for his clan ended with him regretting pursuing his justice. (and killing It*chi, but in my opinion It*chi deserved it bc he chose the path of gen*cide). I know there are some lost gems on ao3, but it's so few.

edit1: I'm actually going through a phase where I just want to read a fic or several fics where everyone criticizes and hates Konoha and DOES something about it. (like destroying or setting it on fire). You know Konoha deserves it.

I'm currently looking for Sasuke centric bc he deserves his moment to properly vent his anger on that village and also bc I've read countless fics where Naruto turns against the village.

The day was pretty good all things considered.

She had to put a few customers in the coffee shop in their place but nothing she couldn’t handle. For Sakura, this was all temporary. She was only working to make money until she could finish medical school. So if putting up with jerks was the price she had to pay for a better future, she would do it.

Sakura knew what she wanted to do with her life the day she witnessed the rescue of a life. A woman was choking, and it was bad enough for Aunt Tsunade to grab a pen and perform a tracheotomy. It was the most beautiful moment of the little girl’s life. She couldn’t explain why, but seeing that her aunt had erased all of her “patient’s” fear and relieved the fear of her loved ones by saving her life was a sight she couldn’t get enough of. She wanted to be a part of something, to help others. Seeing that expression of gratitude and relief when the person understood that they were no longer in danger. It may have been small, but it had shaped Sakura. She had always been a hard worker.

The shop doorbell rang, signifying the arrival of a new customer. Instinctively, she looked up and saw a familiar pair of black eyes. It took all her willpower not to smile stupidly. The man approached the counter, a small smile on his face (god he was cute when he smiled like that).

“Hey, blossom. It’s been a while.”

“Shisui, hi! The usual, I presume?”

“Please.”

She nodded with a smile and went to prepare his order. A Grande Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino. Shisui was a regular customer, but she was pretty sure she’d seen him hanging around her campus before. She didn’t know if he was a student here or just visiting someone. But she had noticed that there was a girl by his side, maybe his girlfriend.

He was in the company of Uchiha Itachi, a medical student just like her. She remembered that the man wanted to be a neurosurgeon. He was serious, diligent, and very intelligent. He had a very cute brunette on his arm. Izumi was her name, if she remembered correctly. Despite Itachi’s beauty, it was Shisui who caught her attention. She had never dared to hit on him or anything, but they had a good feeling. He knew that she was studying medicine and that she knew his cousin. She had a little crush on him. Ino had told her to go for it, that she needed to get laid, but Ino always thought she should have more fun and study less, sooo…

She preferred to be his friend for now, assuming he considered her as such. (That didn’t stop her from fantasizing about what his lips would taste like after drinking his caramel frappuccino, though.)

The day continued at its usual pace, with the hum of the coffee machines and the steady flow of customers providing a comforting rhythm to Sakura’s thoughts. She glanced at the clock; her shift was nearing its end. The idea of spending another evening poring over her textbooks at the campus library was both daunting and thrilling. Each chapter brought her closer to her dream, each study session was a step towards the future she had envisioned for herself since that fateful day with Aunt Tsunade.

Her thoughts drifted back to Shisui. His visits to the coffee shop were the highlights of her day, and their brief exchanges left her heart fluttering. He always had a way of making her feel seen, which was something she deeply appreciated amidst the often impersonal atmosphere of the café. Despite the unspoken tension, she valued their budding friendship.

The doorbell rang again, and Sakura looked up to see her manager, Kurenai, entering. “Hey, Sakura,” she greeted warmly. “You can clock out now. I’ll take over.”

Sakura nodded gratefully. “Thanks, Kurenai-san,” She removed her apron, hung it up, and grabbed her bag from the back room. As she exited the shop, the cool afternoon air embraced her, a welcome change from the warmth inside.

On her way to the library, she decided to take a detour through the campus park. The sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden hue over the landscape, and she found herself reflecting on the day. She wondered if Shisui ever thought about her as much as she thought about him. It was a silly thought, but it brought a smile to her face.

As she reached the park, she saw a familiar figure sitting on a bench, engrossed in a book. It was Itachi. He looked up as she approached, a polite smile forming on his lips.

“Sakura,” he greeted. “On your way to the library?”

“Hi, Itachi. Yes, I am. Taking a short break before diving back into the books.”

He nodded, closing his book. “Just don’t overwork yourself.”

Sakura laughed, sitting down beside him and allowing herself a moment before getting back to studying. “You should take your own advice!” Their lighthearted banter brought smiles to both their faces. Sakura liked Itachi; conversing with him was always enjoyable. He seemed to always have an opinion, and he expressed it with an eloquence that she found undeniably attractive—platonically, of course. As they chatted, she felt grateful for this brief escape from her studies. They talked about their classes, their professors, and their shared experiences in medical school.

Eventually, the topic shifted to Shisui. “You know, my cousin talks about you quite often,” Itachi said casually, his eyes studying her reaction.

Sakura’s heart skipped a beat. “Oh? What does he say?”

She hoped it would be something positive. Honestly, she would have to change cities if he saw her as just the crazy barista who knew his order a little too well. He didn’t seem to think she was crazy, but she often recalled that French meme that said, “POV: you’re talking to the crazy person on the bus to avoid getting killed.” Maybe that was exactly what Shisui was doing. She snorted. She was being ridiculous.

Itachi chuckled, unaware of Sakura's thoughts. “He thinks you’re incredibly dedicated. He admires your work ethic.”

She blushed, feeling a mix of happiness and embarrassment. “That’s nice to hear. I think highly of him too.”

Itachi’s smile grew. “You should tell him that sometime. He’s not as perceptive as you might think.”

They continued talking until the last rays of the sun faded from the sky, signaling the onset of evening. Realizing the time, Sakura stood up. “I should get going. I still have a lot to study.”

He nodded. “Me too. Good luck with your studies.”

“Thank you. You too.”

As she walked towards the library, her mind buzzed with the possibility that maybe, just maybe, Shisui saw her as more than just the barista who made his favorite frappuccino. With renewed determination, she pushed open the library doors, ready to conquer another chapter in her medical textbook. Tomorrow was another day, and who knew what it might bring?

Shisui pushed open the door of the café, the familiar chime signaling his arrival. The scent of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the sweet aroma of pastries. It had been two weeks since his last visit, and he hadn’t realized how much he missed this place—how much he missed her.

He’d had a rough day. His law classes were particularly grueling, and the weight of his responsibilities felt heavier than usual. As he walked toward the counter, he couldn’t help but think that seeing Sakura's smile might lift his spirits, though he wouldn’t admit that to anyone, least of all himself.

His eyes scanned the room, instinctively searching for the familiar shock of pink hair. There she was, bustling behind the counter, her focused yet serene expression a balm to his frazzled nerves. He felt a tingle of anticipation as he approached her.

“Hey, you”

Sakura looked up, her eyes widening slightly in surprise before a warm smile spread across her face. “Hey yourself! Let me guess," she said, pretending to ponder with an amused glint in her eye, “A grande caramel ribbon crunch crème frappuccino?”

“You read my mind!,” he replied, a smile tugging at his lips. Watching her prepare his drink, he felt a familiar flutter in his chest. He appreciated her kindness, and the way she always seemed to remember what he ordered.

While she worked, his thoughts wandered. He wondered how his life had become such a mess in such a short time. Shisui had never faced significant problems in his life; he was born into a good family, and although his parents had died when he was a child, he couldn’t say he had been an unhappy kid. His grandfather, Kagami, had taken care of him, and even though there were moments when he felt a sense of loss—especially during Mother’s and Father’s Day at school when he had no one to give a gift to—he couldn’t say he had lacked love. Of course, there had been times when he envied his cousins for having their parents around, but he remembered fondly how Aunt Mikoto had always doted on him. He was the third son, and while Uncle Fugaku was a bit stricter, he supposed that inviting him on a father-son road trip was his way of making him feel included in the family. He was grateful for that, but he never forgot his grandfather. Kagami was all he had known, so in a way, he was a father to him. After all, it was Kagami who had wiped his nose and put a Band-Aid on his knee when he fell off his bike at four years old.

He suddenly snapped back to the present when Sakura's soft voice reached his ears. She didn’t seem to have noticed that he had zoned out. She offered him his drink, that same kind smile on her lips. Maybe that’s what he needed after his crappy day: a friendly smile and his favorite drink served by his favorite barista. “Here you go, Mister Uchiha. One Grande Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino.”

“Thanks, Miss Haruno,” he said playfully, their fingers brushing briefly as he took the cup from her. The contact sent a small jolt through him, a reminder of the complicated emotions he was grappling with. He was drawn to her, no doubt, but his recent breakup and the tangled mess of his life made him wary of getting too close.

He found a seat by the window, where he could watch her while maintaining a semblance of nonchalance. As he sipped his drink, he thought about the conversations they’d had, the way her eyes lit up when she talked about her dreams of becoming a doctor. She was so full of life and ambition, a stark contrast to the burdens he carried.

Shisui sighed, leaning back in his chair. The truth was, the idea of someone like Sakura becoming important to him was both thrilling and terrifying. He wasn’t ready to dive into another relationship, not when his own life was still a puzzle he was trying to piece together. Yet, there was a part of him that didn’t want to let go of the possibility that she could be someone significant in his future.

Their interactions were a delicate dance—flirting just enough to keep the connection alive, but never stepping beyond the boundaries they had unconsciously set. He wondered if she felt the same way, if she was as confused by their dynamic as he was.

When his drink was finished, he stood up, catching her eye once more. “See you around, Sakura.”

“Take care, Shisui,” she replied, her smile tinged with a hint of something he couldn’t quite decipher.

As he left the café, he made his way back to his apartment, where he lived with Itachi. He was sure his roommate had his nose buried in his books. Generally, when Shisui came home, Itachi was always either sipping a cup of tea or studying. Sometimes he would be sitting on their balcony, quietly reading a book, although he did so a little less now that the weather was starting to cool down. Overall, Shisui couldn’t complain about his little cousin. He was a discreet and tidy roommate—too tidy at times. He had never seen a room so well-organized. It reminded him of military barracks. Not that he knew what they looked like, but soldiers must be disciplined, so he assumed that keeping their living space clean was part of their training.

The walk gave him time to clear his mind. By the time he reached his place, he felt a little more grounded. Opening the door to their shared apartment, Shisui was greeted by the sight of Itachi at the kitchen table, surrounded by textbooks and notes. How surprising. He shook his head fondly. His cousin looked up, a slight smile playing on his lips. “Good evening, Shisui. How was your day?”

The Uchiha shrugged, setting his keys down on the counter. “It was fine. Stopped by the café and saw Sakura.”

Itachi raised an eyebrow. “Oh? How is she?”

“She’s good,” he replied, a small smile playing on his lips. “Busy as always, but she seems happy.”

Itachi nodded, closing one of his textbooks. “You know, she mentioned she hadn’t seen you in a while. She was a bit worried about her ‘favorite’ customer.” he said, recalling the earlier conversation from when he had gone to grab a coffee at her workplace.

Shisui chuckled softly, his heart warming at the thought. “Did she, now?”

Itachi leaned back in his chair, studying his older cousin thoughtfully. “She seems like a good person. Someone worth knowing better.”

Shisui sighed, running a hand through his curly hair, surprised to find only the minimum of tangles. It wasn't uncommon for his dark mane to be a mess by the end of the day, and not for the best reasons. The most amusing ones: like a delicate, manicured hand tugging at his strands while his sinful mouth was nestled between the thighs of his latest fling. “I know. It’s just… complicated. My last relationship didn’t end well, and I don’t want to drag her into my mess.”

The dark haired man hummed in understanding. “Sometimes, the best things in life come when you least expect them. Maybe it’s not about being ready, but about being open to the possibility.”

Shisui nodded, his cousin’s words resonating deeply. “Thanks, ‘Tachi.”

As they sat in companionable silence, Shisui felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe there was a future where he and Sakura could be more than just fleeting acquaintances. For now, he would take it one day at a time, cherishing their moments together and letting fate take care of the rest.

I can see why would they lose faith but that could never be me, conflict doesn't scare me lol!! They literally discredit and undermine SasuSakus moments, a CANON couple, of course they wouldn't lose the chance to do that with a fanon ship (for now), SS&KS have one thing in common and it's the haters, they are literally the same people. Really? Im not surprised lol these ppl are very devoted stalkers, no matter how many of them I block, theres always someone who slips through the cracks and watches from the shadows until they finally reveal themselves, and also go reporting to their leader what I be sayin or doin for them to send their minions after me or play victim lol I literally put it to the test because I was suspicious that that was the case, so I showed several screenshots of something they said I was lying about proving it wasn't a lie, but I purposefully didnt censor the names to see if they would go running to snitch to them and thats exactly what they did, not even a few minutes passed between them responding to me and the person in the screenshot talking about me.

The kicker? I know it kills them inside that no matter how much their fed they still dont have confirmation from either side yet while BoruSumi does, it eats them alive that Sarada, the main female, the one they claim is closest to him and so obviously loves him so much, has yet to be confirmed to be inlove with him and everytime shes asked she denies it and is uncomfortable, they were overjoyed when Mitsuki asked her and she avoided his question so they could be like 'See? Mitsuki knows she likes him, he said she doesnt know how she truly feels yet, its confirmed' yet that didnt go how they wanted because unlike they hoped, ppl actually paid attention to what was said and it wasnt anything like they tried to make it out to be.

Mitsuki was talking about himself and being unsure of HIS true feelings, his question to Sarada was him trying to figure his own feelings out through Sarada, but when she avoided the question, Mitsuki backed off seeing she was uncomfortable and said that it didnt matter, they tried to deny this for the longest and insisted it was about Sarada until chapter 7 of TBV released and proved our statement EXACTLY right, that it WAS Mitsuki being confused about his feelings for Boruto and trying to make sense of them so their one little sliver of confirmation they thought they had went out the window and now their back in limbo with the rest of us waiting for confirmation.

So no matter how confident they try to act, their scared to death that their still not confirmed without a doubt to be semi canon yet, because even tho it doesnt automatically mean their endgame, it DOES give them a higher possibility to be if they are, which is why they fear Sumire being so involved because you could ignore Hinata majority of the time because she wasnt around Naruto or involved with his plot that much, but you cant ignore Sumire because she IS, and THATS what scares them.

Even so they seem to still harbor a greater hatred for KawaSara than they do BoruSumi despite them not even being semi canon, which is crazy to me because I dont even think they realize how insecure they look for doing so lol if your more threatened by a not even semi canon ship, maybe your ship aint doin as well as you act like it is cuz trust and believe if your ship had nothin to worry about then you wouldnt be bothered, so if your bothered that means you see something to be threatened by.

^^^^ Another statement they ignore that debunks one of their main arguements that her wanting to help, support, protect etc Boruto is because she loves him romantically, this statement debunks that entirely because she says those exact feelings have NOTHING to do with whether or not she likes him, those are just her genuine feelings for her friend and teammate thats struggling and shes feeling frustrated being unable to help him like she wishes she could.

Its honestly ironic the lack of self awareness ppl have, to accuse others of lacking reading comprehension, while also blatantly lacking it themselves that they cant even comprehend something as simple as this.

But again, they ignore how SHE says she feels and instead THEY decide how shes feeling, because to THEM yea she says that but she doesnt mean it, she actually does love him but she just hasnt realized she does yet cuz shes tsundere [even tho she isnt] because to them THEY know her better than herself, THEY decide how she really feels not Sarada herself, because anything she says that doesnt fit their narrative oh well shes just confused but WE [they] know what she really means so just take their words for it because unlike us who cant 'read between the lines' they actually understand her character and respect how she feels.

The only time its ok to insist someone doesnt know how they feel, is when their actually shown not knowing how they feel, not them saying outright what they feel firmly without hesitation.

So the fact that they try to dictate and determine what Sarada feels over what Sarada herself says she feels is nothing short of them not caring about her feelings, because they dont care that she doesnt like Boruto, they are going to MAKE her like him whether thats how she really feels or not. So anytime somebody hits you with that 'if your a real Sarada fan you would accept her feelings even if you dont like them' know their full of shit because when they dont like it they dont accept it either, they just want YOU to respect what THEY say her feelings are, nothing else.

Not only they're insecure with KS but BoruSumi too, that's exactly why they ship KawSum to get them BOTH out of the way.

Its funny because they used the same talking points too that they used for SK lol 'she understands him, they have a similar past, he has a soft spot for her' same bs different ship, but they say KawaSara is SH/SK lol better look again.

Their main goal and objective is seeing what an Uchiha/Uzumaki/Hyuuga baby would be like because their convinced their children will be gods, even if they try to pretend they ship them cuz of love, development, mutual respect [there isnt] and the energy they put into eachother [its one sided, Sarada gives way more than she receives] its really all about their genes, the same reason they desperately wanted Sasuke with Karin, but with BoruSara even more now because thats THREE op clan genes their children will have, Uchiha, Uzumaki, AND Hyuuga.

They dont give af about their bond, their feelings, or their characters, they care about how powerful their child is gonna be, and that is truly disgusting.

The fact that they have the nerve to talk about other ships being disgusting, when their ships main objective is what kinda OP baby Sarada pops out for Boruto, is nothing short of hypocritical. If Boruto did not have Uzumaki and Hyuuga dna, BoruSara would not be half as popular as it is now, the appeal of how strong their kid would be is the main reason this ship has as many supporters as it has, NOT how great the actual ship as a whole is.

Think about it, what other ship do you see have THAT MANY comments about wanting them together to see how powerful their child is? you cant name one, because unlike them, OTHER SHIP FANDOMS ACTUALLY LIKE THEIR SHIPS FOR THEIR DYNAMIC/RELATIONSHIP/BOND not how powerful their kid is gonna be, their kids are an after thought, not they primary one and main reason they want it endgame.

Obviously shippers imagine their ships endgame and family life, but there's a big difference between just coming up with fanon kids/enjoying family content, and straight up eugenics where the only appeal is how OP their children are gonna be and what crazy new jutsus etc their gonna have

Sakura hasnt done half the pathetic things Sarada has and she gets dragged as the worst female character in shounen history, why do you think that is? because shes just a normal girl with non special genes to be passed down and create something powerful, but Sarada? the only other living member of the famous Uchiha clan, the strongest clan in Konoha next to the Senju, her genes passed down with someone from the Hyuuga/Uzumaki, two other very powerful clans, would create something truly out of this world.

And there you have it, thats all you need to know, just ask yourself whats different about how Sakura is written and Sarada and you'll notice the main deciding factor on why Sarada is better than Sakura is because of her genes. For example Sarada's speech to Shikamaru about her defending a traitor like her dad used to be, and comparing her defending Boruto to how Naruto [and Sakura] defended Sasuke. Of course those buffoons ran with it like yea she's defending Boruto like Sakura did Sasuke when he was a traitor its totally endgame.

This is just surface level SS tho, Sakura wasnt just defending an innocent man wrongly accused, Sakura was defending an ACTUAL traitor, Sasuke made the conscious decision to abandon Konoha and betray everyone and willingly attempt to kill his comrade, all in his pursuit of power to avenge his family that was wrongfully murdered by his brother, he chose revenge >> his friends and Konoha, Sakura and Naruto stood by him despite that because they knew the real him and wanted to save him from that dark lonely path he was walking because they genuinely wanted him to be happy and knew he wouldnt be if he walked this path.

Compare that to BoruSara, why is Boruto a traitor? he isnt, everyone just thinks he is because of mass brainwashing, its Kawaki who is actually the traitor that everyone hates, but due to omnipotence thats all directed at Boruto now, why did Boruto leave? because if he didnt he would've been killed by everyone who thinks hes a traitor now, what is Borutos end goal? to undo omnipotence and knock some sense into Kawaki [and save the world obviously] and what is Sarada defending Boruto from? absolutely nothing, because hes innocent, so all her mouthing off has zero weight because shes defending an innocent person, so of COURSE she'd stand by him.

With Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura were defending a traitor, and then an international terrorist, they were INSANE to defend him but they did anyway because they loved him, they understood there had to be a reason, it was hard, and there was doubt, but overall they loved Sasuke and refused to give up on him and kept hope that one day they could all laugh together again as team 7.

Sarada is going through zero conflict over this, zero struggle, everyone is just brainwashed so none of the push back she receives has any weight because she knows its because of omnipotence that their acting that way, so the most she does is get frustrated that she cant break through omnipotences hold over them, but with Naruto and Sakura you had friends, comrades, even family telling them that they need to give up and let Sasuke die, that there was no saving him, that as Hokage your gonna have to make the hard decisions even if you dont want to etc and these werent ppl brainwashed, these were their sincere thoughts and feelings about the situation that brought both Naruto and Sakura to having breakdowns because of the inner tormoil it caused.

What has Sarada done to really 'ride or die' for Boruto? buy a similar jacket to his? yell at ppl you know cant help but not believe you because their literally under the influence of a massive shinjutsu? what a joke.

THE IRONY is that while Minato actually supported Kushina's dream from the start while everyone else made fun of it, Boruto was the ONLY ONE who made fun of Sarada's dream and berated her for it, but their similar to MinaKushi lol

Same way they try to claim NaruHina similarities for again, surface level reasons instead of the actual deeper meaning of their relationship.

Tell me where Sarada grew up in an abusive household where her father practically disowned her because she was weak? where was Sarada inspired by Boruto being a 'proud failure' and wanting to be like him? where was Boruto Sarada's inspiration for her nindo? where was Sarada breaking Boruto out of his insecurity for a big upcoming fight he thought he couldnt win which gave him the courage and motivation to give it his all? when has Boruto ever literally fought to avenge Sarada because he was so angry at how she was treated? when has Sarada fought a far stronger enemy despite his protest? [a single fireball distraction and just standing there after the fact is not fighting]

They have none of that stuff that actually mattered and added substance to their relationship, you know what they did have? Sarada just watching Boruto from afar as if that is an actual deep meaningful part of their relationship…the funny thing is even that isnt similar, the contexts are literally complete opposites

Hinata watched Naruto out of admiration and infatuation, Sarada watched Boruto out of jealousy, and then later she was just watching him train with her dad hoping that he'd take Boruto on as his student since she knew it'd make him happy

Sarada was originally annoyed with Boruto at first [Just like Sakura and Sasuke] but after becoming teammates became alot closer like family, Sarada would watch Boruto pull pranks for his fathers attention in envy but despite being annoyed she also sympathized with him because she too had an absent father she craved attention from, Sasuke used to watch Naruto go around pulling pranks for attention too and despite thinking he was a moron he sympathized with him as well because they were both orphans and he understood his loneliness, Boruto and Sarada pretty much bicker with eachother the exact same way OG team 7 did, the only difference being the lack of drama now because theres no conflict with one of the teammates goin rogue and betraying them [Kawaki fills that role] but overall the sentiments is the same when it comes to those ships.

Sakura despite being annoyed with Naruto often she still worried for him alot and wanted to help him anyway she could and was frustrated with herself when she couldnt help him more, same way Sarada is frustrated with herself for not being able to help Boruto more, Sasuke resented Naruto for thinking he understood him when he had nothing from the start and has no idea what its like to have a family and then lose it, same way Sarada resented Boruto for his ignorance of being so blessed always complaining about his dad overworking when Sarada would kill to have what he did [Boruto had the perfect family then lost it when Naruto became Hokage and neglected them but still tried to be there for them, Sarada always had a dysfunctional family and absent dad that she only just got to finally know at 11, he did not understand her at all]

Regardless, they still sympathized because even though the situations were very different, they both understood the pain of missing their fathers, which is why she was still able to empathize with him despite being far worse off.

Hell the only OG ship with a heavy emphasis on a promise like BoruSara is NaruSaku, same for it being the only OG ship with an emotional surprise hug after an invasion where the FMC hugs the MC relieved to see he was ok while the other one sided love interest watches [whether ones smiling and the other not is irrelevant, its the overall context and execution of the scene that matters]

Like Boruto's death was handled WAY too quickly, Sarada wasnt even given a chance to process it, she was told right in the heat of the moment of them fighting, then everything happened back to back afterwards so she didn't even get a chance to process THAT before she had to process 50 other things that happened all at one, that was such a missed opportunity for some real conflict that they only gave to Sumire who didn't even do anything with it and just looked scared of him every interaction afterwards, thats info that would've been far better utilized on Sarada

Just imagine after checking on Boruto, Sarada went to Kawaki's room and overheard them talking about what happened, she's shocked, she's confused, shes wondering why Boruto lied to her about what happened, why Naruto is ok with this, a lot of conflicting emotions running through her mind that she needs to process so she goes meet Mitsuki at the balcony where they are watching Boruto and her dad, Sarada considers telling Mitsuki what she heard but when Mitsuki tells her how he doesn't know what he might do to the person that tried to kill Boruto, Sarada withholds what she heard cuz she doesn't want to go after him, so Sarada internalizes and has to deal with these feelings on her own, on one hand she understands that this was what Boruto wanted to protect everyone, but on the other she cant bring herself to just be ok with Kawaki trying to kill him, however this situation brings up a new internal conflict she hadn't thought about before and thats what SHE would do if she were faced with a possessed Boruto in that kind of situation? would she be able to kill him if needed? does she have the resolve to do what needs to be done even if she doesn't want to? could she make that difficult decision like Kawaki did? even if thats what Boruto wanted? if he had asked her to, would she be able to honor his wishes? or would she be unable to and let Momo rampage

I could go on but I dont want this to be too long but you get the point, imagine we got THAT instead of all that rushed bs, imagine we got some actual reflection, some inner conflict, some internal struggles trying to figure out her resolve and if she'll be able to do what needs to be done as Hokage.

Imagine her and Kawaki had that talk when they were alone and she confronted him about it, Kawaki affirming his resolve to her that he will do anything to protect Naruto, even killing his own brother, and then the question is passed on to Sarada for what her resolve is, but she has no answer at the moment, all she knows is that she too wants to protect Naruto but she wants to protect Boruto too and doesn't want him to die, but Kawaki tells her there may be a time when she has no choice in the matter and will have to make up her mind soon, then in 78 shes forced to make that decision on just how far shes willing to go for her beliefs, can she kill Boruto if he's a threat? can she kill Kawaki if he's threatening Boruto? she gets there and its time to make a decision, Kawaki once again affirms his resolve by even being willing to kill her if she got in his way of doing what he genuinely believed is right, but Sarada is still unsure of herself, unable to let Boruto die even if he's a threat to everyone, but unwilling to kill Kawaki either even when he's threatening her life, because, despite his rude attitude a lot of the time, she still came to view Kawaki as a friend and teammate and THATS why she hesitates.

Now imagine, shocker, that she actually feels REMORSE for costing Boruto his eye, I know crazy right? you would think that'd have happened IN CANON but oddly it did not, she hasn't been shown feeling even the slightest bit of guilt for costing him his eye that day which is crazy to me, but unsurprising because she didn't even feel the slightest big of remorse for her dad being treefied because SHE sent him off to protect Boruto.

RIP the empathetic caring Sarada who actually gave a danm in 28, 36, and 39 you will be missed.

Having Sarada go there acting all sure of herself but not backing it up did such irreparable damage to her character, whereas in the scenario I just laid out or anything similar to that actually adds depth and valid reasoning for why she'd freeze up there, vs talking a big game like she was about that life only to freeze as soon as shit got real, it was such a stupid writing decision to do that, yes even worse than both of Sakura's failed kill attempts on Sasuke because at least we actually saw the internal conflict she was going through that made her hesitate, we got none of that for Sarada, she just said she couldn't stand by and do nothing....only to stand by and do nothing.

So I really am hoping, by some miracle, the upcoming Kawaki development will lead to some for Sarada as well, but considering Boruto is being brought to the village now I doubt we'll be seeing that anytime soon and she'll continue hyperfixating on HIM and how HES treated until he somehow gets free.

And even then once he's free and out of the village, I hope her 'development' wont be just more bitching at everybody and calling Kawaki Otsutsuki too some more cuz my god, can the girl have any other personality traits besides 'bitter at everyone whos mean/doesnt like Boruto' ? I don't think thats too much to ask. Can she also actually act like she has other friends besides Sumire? can we really not let her be SO BORUTO CENTRIC that she avoids all her other friends/family, even her long time bestie Chocho, over a fkin boy? is this not THE SAME SHIT ppl got on Sakura for doing to Ino? choosing a boy over their friendship? wheres that energy now huh? just again goes to show where the priorities REALLY were all along.

This is a main reason I dont like the ship, because no other Sarada ship is she written THIS poorly for, when its her and Mitsuki their equals and Mitsuki gives just as much to her as she does for him, when its her and Kawaki they are also equals, Kawaki never looks down at her as defenseless or weak, he knows she's strong and capable of fending for herself and allows her to do so, its only BORUTO that intervenes and acts like she's helpless, HES the one who doesn't view her as an equal, but a helpless damsel that needs him to fight all her battles for her, even one about her own fkin father HE takes on the role of freeing him, best believe Sarada will have nothing to do with it, its gonna be all Boruto for her to have the big 'thank you' later and relieve Borutos guilt by returning her father to her, it sounds sweet in concept, but the execution is terrible and makes Sarada useless in her own plot, just like shes already useless in the plot in general besides being unaffected she has done literally nothing of substance with that immunity.

When shes with Boruto he will always take center stage, it'll never be an equal partnership with equal treatment, Sarada has given her ALL to Boruto yet Boruto hasn't even given half of that, the only time Sarada is a thought for him is as an extension of Sasuke, him thanking her before he left? because she sent Sasuke, his promise? because his dream is to be the supporting shadow like Sasuke who supports the Hokage and thus Sarada since she plans to be Hokage [put anyone else in that role and he'd do the exact same thing] , his new promise? to save Sasuke, him coming back to Konoha? to tell her what happened to Sasuke, him coming back again? because his sister was being targeted and then Sarada was being targeted by the Sasuke clone and he took the opportunity to kill him to get the thorn soul bulb that'll help free Sasuke

But when he was about to be killed by Kawaki? he only thought of his mom and sister, when Mitsuki guilt tripped him about breaking his promise, it was only the mention of his mother and sister that got him to change his mind, the only one Boruto has told Naruto is alive to was Mitsuki, not Sarada despite knowing thats her idol, he never made any attempts to contact Sarada in the entire 3 yrs despite clearly having the village bugged with frogs he can teleport to easily , hell he could even just leave letters with the frogs to deliver them to her, ya know, the sorta thing ppl got on Sasuke's case for not doing and now here Boruto is doing the same thing but nobody says anything about it.

Again I dont want this to get too long so Ima cut it here but I think I made my points clear enough at least to get why this ship is so ass and its shippers are so fake as hell shipping it. They can delude themselves that their the 'healthy' and 'not deluded' ones but they are, always have been, their just even worse now because they've lied to themselves for so long they actually believe it, and that is truly sad.

Referencing to a recent post. I'd be so down for Sarada's being a single mother's daughter not knowing (and/or caring) who her father is. The single mother being some whole new character too, preferably, because come on now, Sasuke needed a fresh start and a clean slate with someone else. He already fked over pretty much every woman he encountered that they'd be living with some traumas Sak//ura doesn't count because she got her own problems being overly obsessed with some boy she fell in love with over his LOOKS and some rivalry pettiness.

I said single because it's pretty clear that Sasuke needed to work on himself first before focusing on being a father (and a husband!) and any half decent person would rather raise their child in a healthy environment than to deal with the baby daddy's issues and abandonments.

IMO, it'd be more compelling show watching Sasuke learning to be a dad without that disturbing and uncomfortable undertone of being forced to via Sa//kura's toxicity and other people's guilt tripping. I wanna watch him wanting to be a dad and being awkward about it than grudgingly doing so because "he had to".

I can go on on how the studio can do better, even with that dreaded ss, but I won't lol the above is personally how I'd have gone about it, esp considering his canon character. I do believe it is very possible he could be a good (or half decent) dad and being genuinely happy about being one, but the development has to make sense if the writer wanted a healthy relationship between Sasuke and Sarada (and his baby mama) in the first place.

I always thought Sasuke would have been awkward, but good dad with him returning a bit to what he was like before the massacre over time. You know melting the coldness of his that built up over the years.

Even if Sasuke didn't stick around I think the family should have gotten together every so often for peaceful family moments outside the village maybe not make it known about Sasuke being the Sasuke Uchiha till Sarada was older. Let her think her dad is just an average ninja that primarily handles outside the village work.

Plus they have the perfect set up for why with Sasuke's past and not wanting it too affect Sarada growing up as she is technically the daughter of a criminal plus they could talk and explain about his family without outright saying who they were and further give Sarada better motivation to be Hokage. She could have inherited Itachi's dream and remind Sasuke of his brother and truly open up a new era for the Uchiha clan.

Sasuke and Sarada could have been handled so much better if there wasn't pressure to have him end up with Sakura to achieve her goal of being with him.

A night alone part 3

Sakura has been very distant these days. Sasuke didn’t know why because all the planning for her debut was done but she still uses the excuse “Can we talk another time? I’m a bit busy.” Sasuke doesn’t get the chance to talk to her until dinner the day before her debut. 

Sasuke sees Sakura walking out of her room. Their eyes met but she quickly walked towards the stairs but before she could step down, Sasuke pulled her towards him and gently placed her back against the wall before locking her there. 

“Hey! Let me go!” Sakura protests but her face is as red as a tomato. 

“What's the matter with you, Sak? Why are you avoiding me?” Sasuke asks. 

“What are you talking about? Didn’t I tell you that I’m just busy? Which part of that can you not understand?” She lied. 

“Don’t give me that Sakura. I know you finished the preparation. I’ll ask you again… Why are you ignoring me?” Sasuke was losing his patience but still his voice came out calm. 

“My heart is confusing me, Sasuke-kun. I… don’t even know why I’m avoiding you. I’m sorry.” She answered quietly. 

“There’s no reason for you to be sorry. I should be the one. Though, I still can’t say what I’m feeling, not until you turn 18. So, wait a little longer, little one.” Sasuke winked and the both went down stairs even if Sakura’s face was burning. 

Sakura’s Party 

The debut started normally. The guests are settled and before it started some of them were of course greeted by the Uchihas. Of course, Mikoto started the opening speech greeting everyone who attended. 

“Thank you to everyone here today to celebrate our little flower’s 18th birthday. We really appreciate your presence here making Sakura’s birthday more special. I remember when she was just young… oh no tears are spilling! She used to run around with Sasuke while holding her slug plushie. Time really passed by so quickly so let’s not delay anymore. Let’s welcome the star of tonight, Sakura!” Mikoto finished. The big doors colored in gold and flowers started to open and soon revealed Sakura with Sasuke as her escort. 

Everyone stared in awe as Sakura’s pink floral gown flowed with elegance. She looked like a fairy guarded by a knight. She walked with grace and smiled with happiness. Her long pink hair was half tied with sparkles complimenting it. 

“Do we look okay?” Sakura whispered to Sasuke while walking towards her chair. 

“I’m sure you look magnificent, Sakura.” Sasuke assured her, earning a bigger smile from Sakura. 

Soon they arrived at the center and soon they prepared for the Formal Cotillion dance. The music played and they danced. Sasuke and Sakura were so into it, it was as if it was just the two of them in the venue. Sparks flew everywhere mixed with hidden feelings urging to be let out.

‘Not Yet. Soon’

The party went on smoothly. Everyone watched Sakura’s same day edit photoshoot. The Uchihas along with Naruto and Ino were very competitive in the Trivia games. And finally, Sasuke’s most awaited time came, the 18 roses dance.

Of course, Fugaku, who stood up as her father, came first. Followed by Itachi who was very protective of Sakura and a very good big brother. Obito and Shisui were next. They were the one in charge of the fun moments in Sakura’s childhood, then it was a few friends before Sasuke walked in with a bouquet. 

While they were dancing Sasuke suddenly said…

“You’re 18 now, Sakura. Finally… I can tell you that I love you.”

Why Sakura is a Bad Character: Fact, Not Opinion

From an analytical view Sakura is one of the worst and most shallow characters of any classic anime. Her entire purpose revolves around her feelings for Saske; she has no struggle or identity of her own, and if you cut all of her lines from the show it would literally not affect the main story at all. So from a professional writers perspective, she’s unnecessary, and pretty annoying frankly. I’m in season five and she has had one fight, and she got knocked out. This is not a debate, this is a rational, logical, factual, unbiased analysis. Everything just stated is true.

and i was just looking at my manga volumes and can't stand to see how come sakura has feeling for sasuke rather than naruto. ever since pt 1 sasuke hated sakura and told her that she was so annoying he said it twice in fact. and during shippuden he tries to kill her twice. is sakura that mentally challenged to keep going after somebody like that who doesn't give a crap about her? naruto is better suited for sakura. its a shame that anime characters like sakura go for the pretty schoolboys that don't give a care about her rather a character like naruto who does care for her. it just makes me sick and she keeps crying over sasuke.

Sakura is one of the worst characters of all time. And I’m not even exaggerating.

No, this isn't going to be a straw girl about how "useless" Sakura is, why Hinata is a much better waifu or even how Naruto and Sasuke are so much stronger. This is about how Sakura is a combination of every negative stereotype that paints a garbage picture of women in fiction. From the very beginning, Kishimoto spends a fair amount of time building upon the goals and ambitions of each character. We learn that Naruto's goal of Hokage stems from a fear of loneliness and desire to be loved/acknowledged and Sasuke's trauma from the Uchiha massacre leads him down a path of hatred that fuels his ambition to avenge his family. And when Sakura is introduced her entire motivation, dream and passion is about… some goth kid she likes?. Despite being a ninja she goes on a freaking diet to look “pretty” for Sasuke, putting herself and her team in danger. The driving force of her character is too lust over Sasuke's looks and fangirl because he's a brooding bad boy. These are her most significant personality traits during her introduction. We don't learn much about her background, skills and this certainly does nothing to get me invested in her character. People always whine about how unfair it is too compare Sakura to Naruto and Sasuke as fighters, well how about things as small as character motivation.

Speaking of Sasuke, her relationship with him is another reason her character sucks. Naruto’s obsession with Sasuke sends the same damaging message but atleast Naruto’s reason for caring about Sasuke are clearly explained throughout the series and make sense. Naruto sees himself in Sasuke and knows that he could’ve fallen to loneliness and darkness just as easily as he did. His fear of loneliness drove him to save Sasuke from that path. They’re also drawn to each other because they’re the spiritual incarnation of brothers. Sakura is obsse- er I mean in love with Sasuke because… reasons? They were on a team together for like a month. Their conversations are rarely above surface level. Sasuke never reciprocates his feelings and has more emotional intimacy with Naruto. I don’t even remember if Sasuke even complimented her ever. Sakura is further degraded as a character when she begged Sasuke to take her with him when he was abandoning the village. She was ready to abandon her friends and family to become terrorist, WTF! That’s not love, it’s just pathetic and sad. The only good thing about their relationship is that it motivated Sakura to become stronger so she could bring him back. But I also kinda take that back because once again her crush is the driving force of her character. Plus, Naruto does like 90% of the work anyway.

In Part 2 she cries and whines about not being strong enough while Naruto actually goes out and trains. It gets even worse in the infamous Kage Summit where she actually loses her mind and goes out to kill to Sasuke on her own. As expected she fails and almost gets herself her killed TWICE by her future husband. The nail in the coffin is when she actually starts getting upset that the guy that tried to kill her a couple days ago isn’t paying attention to her during a WAR. Sakura, for once, have some freaking self respect for yourself! Her life revolves around one thing and that’s her precious Sasuke. At that point her character couldn’t salvaged. Her idiotic love confession at the end just cemented that. Tldr: Kishimoto can’t write women, Sasusaku sucks and Sakura has zero self respect for herself.

I understand your reaction with Sasuke x mei, but how do you like sakura x kisame, don’t they have the same age gap?🤔

I don’t care about age gaps, they happen and it’s not always predatory. I care about the context and familiarity behind the relationships within the story. So Two reasons,

1. Sakura and Kisame never actually met or got to know each other while Sakura was underage, meaning any interactions between the two is all HCs and imagination. It gets rid of the idea that Sakura only likes someone for their looks because Kisame (even though I think he’s handsome) is considered a “freak of nature” and it would show she’s actually able to move on from a childhood crush. Kisame also would be getting a strong and caring partner, so this ship gets the green light. A wins a win

2. Sasuke and Mei did meet and didn’t really get to know each other, BUT shipping them makes this odd af comment even more problematic for me

It reinforces that Sasuke attracts people because of his looks and looks only, which we all know he isn’t into whatsoever.

It also negatively indicates that Mei was seriously flirting with a minor and might have actually been considering him a potential suitor because she’s portrayed as marriage obsessed. Meaning, she would indeed manipulate him to her advantage.

Even if I wanted to play devils advocate; neither one would actually get anything positive from this ship. These ships are not the same despite having the same age gap.

“Do you have an extra shirt?” A mudcake in pink comes up to the boys.

Naruto lights up like a bloody floor would under luminol and starts to shrug out of his sweaty jersey shirt. Sasuke doesn’t miss the chance to slap the back of his head.

“Have some shame. The student council president needs something decent,” he quips, and he hopes it comes off nonchalant.

“Ah sorry, Sak. This smells like ramen pouring out of my skin.” Naruto is downtrodden.

“I shouldn’t have played football in the rain in the first place.” She scratches her head, a nuanced apology. She starts to back up to leave, but Sasuke hands her a fresh, rolled jersey.

After all, he’s still in his uniform, adverse to anything physical and dirty.

She smiles and mumbles a quick thank you. After a few minutes, he sees his jersey trotting back on the field. His heartbeat goes faster at the sight of pink tendrils touching the tips of his surname.

Like how wondrously it fits her.

And how warm it sounds when someone calls out ‘Uchiha’ and she glances back.
