midoriya's merch was inspired by a number of things! firstly, @ofmermaidstories' deku fic something (just like this) on ao3, where deku's first appearance is in a shouto hoodie like the one described in mine and a froppy hat—a similar meeting where the reader doesnt know he's the Deku! that scene in merm's is inspired in turn by this art by @/min-min-minnie. Aside from the shouto hoodie which connects all three works, the merch i described all came from my lil noggin LMFAO i felt like wearing hero merch in particular would throw anyone off the scent of that-cute-hero-fan-over-there being Deku, Number One Hero; plus its just. adorable as hell and totally in-character bc at his core deku is still the biggest fanboy of all his friends. there r a few obvious choices: headphones for jirou, a fancy watch for momo, umbrella for tsu. i think my choices for those were p obvious! the rest were more standard merch choices (tho the clear umbrella was just bc those r rlly popular in animes and i thought it was funny LMFAO)

the cufflinks came about bc there was originally gonna be a longer scene where he comes in in a suit and the reader has a "oh no hes hot" moment, and then teases him about having to put away the hero merch for a day—only for him to expose himself for having spent a small fortune on a pair of limited edition all might cufflinks that were made wrong (queue the reader going on no hes hot and rich im screwed KJAHBF). i ended up cutting it (tbh i cut a lot from Talk Too Much, bc i wanted to get it out by his birthday and so i ended up breezing over a lot of the cutesy slow burn scenes...... i make up for it in the final scene tho, never said this but that bit where he kneels and then kisses the reader's knee...... still gets me, as arrogant as it sounds 😳 i think its one of the hottest things ive written) but rest assured that still occurred in canon. if u want me to go into detail, i imagined them as being a collab with some luxury company, a limited run with only a few (like fifty or a hundred) made and like fifteen being made incorrectly—they'd have all might's chest design on them, and the incorrectly made ones have the red & blue mixed up. there was a lil story abt how deku hunted for them, found a set with the correct coloring at an online auction and almost got them only to be outbid at the last moment, and then managed to come across a different set with the wrong coloring (the more expensive version, as is usually the case for collectors) at a random thrift shop. and gave the owner the amount he originally bid with, bc hes deku KJAHBSD OK THAT WAS A LOT i promise im done

damn i hate you for writing that oikawa angst like my heart hurt a lot and that letter? i cried, i literally cried in the middle of my English lecture bye this is pain a lot of pain i didn't ask for when at 9:47 in the morning specially when we were analyzing a sad poetry called Dark House by Tennyson.

ok so in the first part, i love how you expressed the more cheerful side of the relationship? like, how perfect everything was or maybe for the reader how perfect everything is. and that 'he cheated on you' really hit the spot. it was like, those 4 words to end a chapter that was so sweet in the beginning amaya big brain energy.

aND THE THE PAIN IN THE SECOND PART ONWARDS OMFG honestly idk i'm over exaggerating but personally, i think that really hurt me. bcz i expected an explanation, why oikawa cheated. did he fall out of love? was the other girl better? i expected those cliché excuses as i'm used to see in other fics. but then you really said nah amie, you're being clowned and then pull up the 'he said i love you, he didn't say i'm in love with you' card.

that was a minimal but important detail and i love how the whole story revolves around that. it actually describes how loving someone, and being in love with someone are completely different things.

and don't even get me started on the letter. i was in the middle of english lecture and then i started crying??? i'm so glad my camera of off. i don't have much to say here bcz i'm not sober lol i'm writing this with half teary eyes, running off coffee while working out physics lmfao but i'm in love with your word selection. just the right words to explain a single emotion <333

I'm not sure if you would know but when do you think Loki's Main Route will come out?  I just finished Edgar's (🎉👏♥️😍😍) and I'm not sure if I should wait or if I should just play Jonah's route as if there is time.-I am going to guess around the end of Feb. Maybe the 20-22 since the new bonus stories end around that time XD Might be a few days before, but all the bonus stories will be released before the route is released I'm sure. OH! You can start a new route! Ikerev allows you to switch routes for free and it saves you spot on the old route! So whenever you want to go back, you don’t have to start all over again. I hope that helps!

E.g. kisses them to make them stop saying something; angry kisses (no consent...) -  These are prompts and not stories, so extrapolating saying its non-consensual is of your own imagination. “Angry kisses,” and “Stopping someone one from saying something with a kiss,” can be written a thousand different ways. Many of the prompts here have hundreds of different scenarios to be written around. However, If I write something, that is dub/con or non/con it will be tagged at the beginning of the fic so you can freely skip over it. :)

→ being in love with the idea of love/wanting to love someone (but loving them differently/not loving them at all): this is just overall, from my perception, what this fic was about (in taeyong’s perspective). and the allusion of y/n saying she felt obligated to have a crush goes perfectly well with taeyong’s situation too. i always say bff2l can never go wrong and it’s true, it’s true, but it looked like there were so many broken fragments to the lifestyle that both taeyong and y/n managed to weave together. they believed they were living perfectly in the present, especially y/n, which is an optimistic view on life but very dangerous at the same time. when y/n talks about the ‘perfect life’ when they’re building a miniature version of their joint apartments, i feel like that was that beginning ‘spark’ (as mentioned earlier) of them realizing that it’s not possible. also what i found interesting is the ‘change makes shit volatile’ phrase which made me think because...it sounds so contradictory but it’s understandable in the sense of this story at least. especially when it’s mentioned that love is volatile. this entire fic runs on those memories of their past and their time together (which is...literally their entire lives) so to say that their love is volatile feels almost...contradictory once again. i’d personally say that it’s not, because there’s always an element of permanence. there’s always memories. and the part when taeyong mentions that he’d never be able to forget y/n proves it too.

→ repeated literature motif: props to the author (brooke) for adding this in since it’s perfect that y/n is a journalism major because literature is what fuels those ideas of a ‘perfect life’ and especially those ideas of love in general. and an article asking about the perception of love is extremely broad but it was written very well. what makes this all even more interesting is that it seems as if y/n is very invested into reading/writing but isn’t into writing a story, which is ironic because when she mentions that ‘perfect life’ all i can think of is fiction, literature, stories, fantasy, etc.. but this was very well done, it wasn’t too overwhelming, the addition of literature but it was done well enough to give the reader a sting near the end.

→ overall: this was great, brooke. very interesting read. i will definitely be pondering this new outlook on heartbreak for a while (the thought of ‘he hoped he loved you like you loved him’ skims my mind but not as often as it will now). this type of love conflict is very very very fitting to the fact that they’re best friends, and taeyong feels obligated (in a way) to feel the same type of love for her. very interesting.

In a tube??? D’you know those pre-packed sandwiches you get at filling stations? Or like... really really really cheap instant coffee? YEAH I’ve made some bad food choices lmfao
