Would suggest lowering bluesky on your ranking because of their whole 'political hate group notification' taht you can turn off
so i have seen this and from my understanding hate groups Are 100% banned on bluesky explicitly in their TOS. ppl are confused why the option is there, theres 3 leading theories
it means blocking discussion of hate groups
its put there for when bluesky eventually goes federated and people have access to other servers that use their protocol but the original bluesky team doesnt have moderation over (so for example if gmail had an option to block emails from hate groups. they dont let hate groups make a gmail, but they cant delete the account of a hate group with a yahoo email because they dont own yahoo. obviously they could be like "we will not connect to any instances that dont have a tos banning hate groups" but i dont see this happening)
they have something that "auto-flags" things that might be from hate groups and hide those before they can ban them with actual content moderators
anyways as far as ive seen there hasnt been an answer so this is all speculation so im gonna set reblogs off on this one in case i accidentally spread misinformation on the internet. if anyone knows more let me know
edit: ok looking more into it it does seem like the second one
#anyonymous#ask#potion of answers your question#but like i said its. another VC funded silicon valley lovechild previously run by jack dorsey#who used to run twitter . and he was Better than musk but like. not by very much. like he sucked. he sucked#so im in no way advocating for it#but if i have to choose between it and threads and twitter. its what id go to

For a quick change of pace, have a new Twitter thread of Rory's lesbian awakening coming (multiple times) before her Yale graduation, which definitely wasn't ruined by Logan's proposal (though now she's wondering how many orgasms were ruined by his very existence in her life). Inspired by some random Wicked thread started this way, and with ALT text commentary.
(Yes I considered Glorbie for this one but I think we all know El Esposo would just congratulate Barbie for going down on Gloria properly because he never could out of fear he'd break her; he was too proper of a gentlemen)
#gilmore girls#paris geller#rory gilmore#rory x paris#gellmore#(we're ignoring that Twitter was only 140 characters in 2007 and emojis weren't in wide use don't think too hard about it)#(but we won't ignore that logan DEFINITELY paid a lot for a verification mark from jack dorsey and was insufferable about it)

Friendly reminder that Jack Dorsey from twitter is the one who owned and then refused to grow and evolve Vine and who was the one who inevitably shut Vine down, which immediately caused a need for a microvideo blogging app...that TikTok filled.
That's right: all of this current Tiktok/China "issue" was caused directly by Jack Dorsey.

Twitter
So apparently, Elon is imposing a rate limit that basically limits the amount of tweets you can see daily. 600 tweets read is the number I am seeing.
It's a cash grab but its also a stifling tactic. Supreme Court overturning civil rights daily, and now new limitations for information sharing and viewing on [what was] the most diverse and far reaching info sharing app. That is not an accident.

I’m not bragging I SWEAR I just have to tell you something weird - I listen to this daily podcast about Twitter. And the two journalists doing that had some invite codes for Bluesky.
Basically Jack Dorsey and some ex-Twitter people are building this social media app that is pretty much Twitter, sans Elon Musk.
But, so far it has only around 3000, maybe 3500 users.
Which means that all those Silicon Valley types on that app will reply to your posts and like them, because
a) there just isn’t a lot of content yet so they are more likely to come across yours and
b) they think you’re cut form the same cloth.
Tom from MySpace is there. The guy who invented Wordpress just liked one of my tweets. One of those journalists who is doing this podcast I listen to daily with around 500k listeners follows me.
I won’t get anything out of it but man it’s just WILD.
(The only thing I don’t like is that account with quite some followers who calls their work art but all of it is done by Midjourney. “Oh it takes a lot of work and quite specific prompts and a lot of tweaking”- shut up. I’m begging u.)

Seeing a lot of people jumping from former blue bird site to new blue horizon site even though the latter is still closed for the majority and is run by Jack Dorsey.
Congrats, you've gone full circle 😵💫

I'm at a point where I think it might be too late to simply sell Twitter to someone who might revert it back to its pre-Musk state. And I really don't think I want Jack Dorsey to buy it back because frankly I don't trust his judgement in running Twitter.
Someone needs to take over Twitter, and I mean seize it from within, like maybe Twitter's remaining workforce actually takes over and throws Elon out, or at least set up company coup or whatever, and then maybe someone can talk about bringing in people who can make it work again.
#twitter trouble#to hell with selling twitter#twitter needs an actual revolution at this point#fuck elon musk#fuck jack dorsey too tbh

You know how you said Jack Dorsey basically got forced off Twitter? I'm assuming the same is impossible for the current monkey at the controls?
I guess we don't know. I think it was either late last year or early this year, Musk outright admitted he didn't want to be running Twitter and was looking for someone else to be the face of the company -- he settled on Linda Yaccarino, who is her own can of worms I'm less familiar with.
I was quoted an article a few days ago from The Financial Times suggesting this week Yaccarino is going to hold a meeting with the banks that helped fund Musk's purchase of Twitter. They want to settle their debt (read: get their investments back) and the going rumor is that these bank dudes want Musk out ASAP because he's so violently bleeding out the site's value. (I'd link the article, but The Financial Times wants you to buy a subscription before you can read it, hence why it was quoted to me instead of linked)
But it sounded like Musk wanted out to begin with? Maybe?
I assume there are ways to force him out. There always seem to be ways to do that. Musk originally lost control of Paypal by being forced out, for example. Vince McMahon was forced out of the WWE, too, but he came back and regained control again.
I'm sure there's some corporate rule or law that describes when and how this sort of stuff can happen, but that's above my pay grade if you get what I mean.

Jack Dorsey becoming Russian Rasputin but with a 1970s hippie vibe was never nothing I expected, quite frankly.
