Hypmic with Pokemon is something that's got a good chunk of brian rot im my head. Do I know a lot about Pokemon? No. I went of vibes and story beats I made up!

Eevee: When Saburo was younger and still in the orphanage, one day he came across a small eevee. Most likely the runt of its litter due its size and unnatural fur color. Saburo snuck out night after night to take care of it. Then after the Stairway to Heaven incident, he was able to sneak out again to go to eevee but Ichiro and his then Kirlia followed him. The rest is history. (I thought eevee was a good pick since they seem to be like the potential Pokemon, Pokemon who can grow up to be anything. Why did I make it shiny?... Favoritism.)

Gengar: Year's after the Stairway to Heaven incident and only a month or two after Odd Jobs Yamada's official opening. There had been neighborhood talk of spooky things happening at night and nightmares becoming more frequent. The brother suspected a ghost type Pokemon was behind this and Ichiro with his now Gallade began to come up with a away to track it down. But after a few days or two with zero luck they began to doubt themselves. Saburo, wanting to prove himself and one up Jiro, went out late with Eevee to search or try and lure it out. He ended up at a park near a thicket of trees, he heard a snap of a twig and other ominous noises. Barely scared, he investigates and meets face to face with a Gengar. Eevee jumps to their feet to defend, but the Gangar startles and disappears into the shadows. After further investigation, Saburo and Eevee find a broken pokeball that looked like it was purposefully snapped in half. It takes a few more fleeting encounters and one lost walk (Saburo ended up in an abandoned building trying to find Gengar) later for Gengar to get close with the pair. Saburo began to bring food preferred by ghost type Pokemon and just sit with Gengar on days where he was frustrated or wanted some quiet. Soon enough the pair of Saburo and Eevee turned into a trio. (Idk gengar seemed spooky and I wanted Saburo's second Pokemon to be spooky)

For the Hilda pokemon au, what eveelution will Twig evolve into? Or will he ever evolve?

I haven't really thought about it

Frankly, the choice of him being a shiny eevee was because of both the color match and the rarity of it being A nod to the rarity of deerfoxes in the Hilda canon

So

I'm probably going to keep him as an eevee, but if anyone wants headcanons him as evolving into anything else, I'm not going to be like "thats wrong, you can't do that >:("

The Fennekin line (Vulpes Zerdadram):

Fennekin are a vulpine fire type Pokémon, native mostly to deserts and grasslands. Fennekin are the smallest Pokémon of the genus Vulpes, with an average height of 0.4m and an average weight of 9.4kg. Some may argue that Eevee are on average smaller than Fennekin, making Eevee the smallest vulpine Pokémon. Though this is true, Eevee are not actually members of the genus Vulpes, instead being classified under the genus Urocyon. 

Fennekin, along with its evolutions, are omnivores. Fennekin mostly eat leaves, roots, and berries, as well as small twigs, which are used for kindling and strengthening their firepower. In the wild, they can eat eggs, rodents, insects, and small reptiles. Fennekin do not typically hunt until they have evolved into Braixen, with Braixen being taught to hunt alongside their mothers. These Pokémon live in dens and are crepuscular, sleeping during the day and mostly being active during the twilight hours. Their eyes are adapted to have good vision at night, though they can sometimes be seen setting their twigs ablaze in order to see better on particularly dark nights.

Typically, this line reproduces once a year during late winter, laying up to 2-4 eggs at a time, which hatch after around 50 days. Recently, this line has been experiencing growing popularity as exotic pets, especially in Unova and Kalos, which has led to many poachers capturing them to sell as pets. Though this has caused Fennekin populations to have declined recently, they aren’t considered to be endangered. Fennekin belonging to trainers, however, are rarely seen, as very few of this line live in areas that trainers frequent. Most trainer-owned Fennekin are a result of the breeding program of the Sycamore Lab in Lumiose City, Kalos. This is where my own Braixen, Aster, is from.

In the wild, Fennekin evolve into Braixen after around 10 months, and then into Delphox after another two years. The evolution into Braixen is often accompanied by a ritual where the Pokémon’s parents present it with a twig that, upon evolution, it will store in its tail. Of course, trainer-owned Braixen will most likely not experience this ritual, so it is recommended that if a Fennekin shows signs of being near evolution, to let it find itself a twig that it can keep. Braixen will need to replace these twigs quite regularly, as they often use friction in their tail fur to set them ablaze. Braixen and Delphox who go too long without their twigs experience significant psychological distress, and for trainer-owned Pokémon it is best to let them find a new one as soon as possible. Humans should also not touch their Braixen or Delphox’s twig without making sure with the Pokémon that it is alright to do so, as this line is very protective of their twigs and will generally only allow those they trust to touch them.

Upon evolution into Delphox, this line’s latent psychic abilities fully manifest, giving them an additional psychic typing. It is theorised that these psychic abilities were originally developed to defend against Skorupi, a common predator of Fennekin eggs, though the psychic typing also causes them to be more at risk to predators like Krookodile, Scrafty, and occasionally Houndoom. Delphox have some measure of pyrokinesis, able to now set their twigs ablaze without burning the twig itself and are also able to use telekinesis.

In the past, it was commonly believed that Delphox could see the future. Though this is not true, it led to them being held in high regard in many ancient societies, being commonly kept by oracles and prophets. 

Fun facts:

This line’s large ears are used to regulate its body temperature. Being fire-types native to deserts, it is easy for them to overheat, so their ears work to vent excess heat out of their bodies and cool them down.

Their fur coats consist of a thick outer coat and a soft undercoat which insulates them in the cold and protects them from the heat.

Fennekin can jump 0.6m high from standing position, though are not as mobile after evolution.

Baby Fennekin are called “kits”.

The collective noun for this line is “a coven”.

She’s looking over the eggs she has, two incubators now. Turtwig has been taking its dear sweet time, and now an Eevee- One that felt like it was radiating infinite potential.

Part of her worries about the poor Turtwig, though. The incubator said it was fine, but it had hardly moved, outside of a few little wobbles. Eventually she unscrews the top and takes the egg out, cradling it in her lap… and theres a spark of something, and suddenly the top cracks, a bright pink and yellow face of a Turtwig emerging from it.

The wood of the twig on its head is thick, and the leaves are as pink as the body.

And there’s absolutely something whimsical about it.

It’s wobbly on its tiny stumps of legs, and she can’t help but keep righting it so it doesnt fall on its back. “You don’t look like the pokedex pictures at ALL… What happened to you?”

Wherever this egg came from, it was clearly touched by something- This didn’t feel like a shiny variant, but maybe a Delta species? Who knows…

name meaning: She's more or less named after the rind of a fruit

one picture you like best of your chara: I give Rind a lot of love when I draw her! Here are a few of my personal faves that I've done

two h/cs you never told anyone

Rind's favorite gemstones are diamonds, opals, and pearls. She finds herself particularly drawn to the way light and colors tend to manifest and shine in these jewels, especially some lab created white diamonds. By contrast, she finds black diamonds to be terribly dull and are not her first choice of target.

In verses where she cannot evolve and devolve freely, Rind's top choices of evolution are Umbreon, Jolteon, and Leafeon. She likes to consider how an evolution could benefit her career as a jewel thief and feels these three would make the best thieves. At the bottom rung of her consideration is Sylveon, because its white pelt stands out in the dark and she isn't fond of the twirly ribbons and lovey-dovey aspect of that evolution (Guess which one she ends up evolving into)

three things your character likes doing in their free time: 

Count the jewels! If you had a massive haul of gems and jewelry stashed away in your home, wouldn't you stop to admire them every so often? Rind could spend hours counting, polishing, and gazing into her stash!

Annoy the acquaintances. Rind loves plastering herself to people she perceives as overly serious and self-important and finding all the ways she can ruffle their feathers. Silly nicknames, affectionate teasing and handing out deliberately bad advice in hopes they'd be gullible enough to follow it are some of her favorite tactics. In short, Rind is a littol troll ;3c

Raiding trash. It may seem a lowly and filthy way to find food (... and it is) but Rind is consistently surprised to find what humans will throw away. Dumpsters and trashcans near restaurants and supermarkets are her favorite places to root through.

seven people your character likes / loves: Being a lowly varmint with a penchant for thievery and lying, Rind doesn't exactly make many friends

Squirrel (Rind's mother. Despite having a rocky relationship in most verses, they both still care about each other. There's a mother daughter bond in there somewhere...)

Twig and Leaf (Her brothers are the only other family she has besides their mother. They've both led very different lives than her's, but they're still siblings no matter what!

two things your character regrets:

Actually hurting anyone. Rind may be a bit of a bully and has a habit of pushing others around, but she never wants to really hurt anyone. Most of her tough talk is all fluff, she doesn't fight unless she has no choice and will always use non lethal force when necessary. Those few times things got out of hand stay in her head as a reminder to not go too far and to not make any real "friends."

Not trying to leave her family amicably. The last she saw them, Rind got into a fight with her mother and left for the city in a huff. Though she still loves Squirrel and would like to see her after so many years apart, she is both convinced her own mother dislikes her and she wouldn't even know what to say in the first place.

two phobia your character has:

Trains. After a few too many close encounters with them in underground subway stations, Rind is very wary of trains and is mindful of how much a moving train can absolutely destroy anything it hits. If something falls into the tracks, its as good as gone as far as Rind is concerned.

Falling from a great height. Rind doesn't have much to save herself if she fell from too high up. Perhaps, if she is prepared, her Sylveon form could grab onto something with her feelers, or she could safely dive into water below as a Vaporeon. But the risk of being splatted on the pavement keeps her away from high rises and rooftops.

An odd choice for a seemingly tough little guy. Despite this, the eevee doesnt go to order.. "This cafe seems really nice, how were you guys able to find this place?"

Sacso looks at the Eevee from behind the register noticing how intense his stare was at the food, after making sure the coast was clear the hybrid wrapped it up and tossed it in a bag which he dropped in front of the Eevee

We didn't "find" this place. It was built by Starchild's folks, well her dad anyway. It took a while they had to gather all the right supplies and tools, heard they even had to start over at one point. But as you can tell it was finished and we're here now, all's well that ends well I suppose.

He wrapped his tail around himself as he talked, almost subconsciously.

(Shelly) "I'm sorry, hon, I don't really know where to point you. But you look like you could use a hot drink or something, would you like to come into my house for some hot cocoa maybe? You should keep your temperature up, and all that stuff. My house is just up in that tree over there if you're interested. It's no guild, but it's a place to warm up in, and if you're lucky, maybe my son could help you find one online?"

* Shelly points in a direction toward a considerable sized tree near Motostoke's city limits with a treehouse sticking out of it in the distance. It's no colossal dynatree but it was a strongly built treehouse in a rigid unbudging tree, and for the 20 years they've lived there, it's never fallen down.
