I really love those blink-and-you-miss-it scenes that tell us what a character is thinking about.
TWD Season 9 Episode 4 'The Obliged' has a Carol/Caryl scene like that, starting around 8:40 until almost 12:00.
Rick and Eugene are talking about how they'll have to stop working on the bridge. They come to a stop in front of Rick's tent. Eugene is very upset that he doesn't know how to solve the problem and Rick consoles him, reassuring his value and how important he was to end the Saviors war.
While they talk, Daryl's framed on the background, eating an apple, observing them. He's clearly placed so we, the audience, can see him there. If you saw the episode, you know Daryl's there to watch Rick and prevent him to go to ASZ when he gets the word Maggie's on her way to kill Negan.
Ok, Rick says goodbye to Eugene and go into the tent where Carol is waiting for him. She's sitting at the table, looking out the window, lost in her thoughts, twisting the engagement ring Ezekiel gave her. Daryl's outside, sitting right in her line of sight...
Yep, if you blink, you will miss that CAROL'S LOOKING AT DARYL!
We know she told Daryl that Zeke proposed on S9E1, and she was reticent to accept it for """"unknown reasons""""". We know that, when she finally said yes on S9E3, it was to the Zeke + Henry package, that she already loved like a son. And we saw all happening from Rick's POV too, he witnessed their quite exchange, he knows that Carol's going to marry/is now married to Ezekiel. But saying yes doesn't mean Carol is 100% free of doubts or that """misterious""" feeling that gave her pause when Zeke first asked her to marry him.
Twisting the ring while looking to Daryl is our visual cue to her conflicting thoughts and feelings, but at the end of the scene, Rick tells her:
- I don't know if we're doing the right thing here. Really don't. But if anyone gives me hope on how things can turn out, it's you. You know that, right?
And Carol replies:
- I'm still trying to figure things out. Just like everybody else.
And we all know how S9 develops until Carol decides she doesn't want that ring anymore 🤷🏿♀️
I really love this tiny, tiny scene. Chef kiss storytelling!

We Have a Future?
I bring this over to you from Twitter as well as a long thread I made about a potential future for Caryl.
I’m taking the rumors of their spinoff as *rumors* for now, but it feels like a good time to talk about what I’d love to see if it’s true and more importantly, what I would subscribe to AMC+ plus for:
1. An Explicit Caryl Romance
The “will they, won’t they” trope is supposed to be resolved by the series finale and we are now past that. We can take the “I love you’s” as canon or not, but it comes across as intentionally straddling the fence and for what? Caryl is one of the biggest ships on television. They have the support of the general audience, casual viewers, the writers, cast, and crew, so there’s no need to keep pandering to the least common denominators. Caryl’s relationship also aids representation, reminding viewers that people over 50 can fall in love, that a female love interest can have gray hair, and that a male love interest can display lower levels of sexual behavior. But that’s only effective if AMC shows they’re willing to commit. After 12 years, it’s time to go big or go home.
2. Open Conversation about Caryl’s Romance
There’s a reason the Caryl fandom thinks so highly of LaToya Morgan. She validates our perspective, she’s openly passionate about the ship, and she gets us hyped. Imagine how many fans would come running if more people associated with the show were allowed to do the same instead of having to toe the company line in the media, which only furthers the problematic viewpoint that Caryl couldn’t possibly be more than friends.
3. A Daryl AND Carol Show
Anything more than a cameo in the upcoming six episodes may be “logistically untenable,” but if Carol really is going to appear in the end, it should amount to something big like a reunion that tops No Sanctuary and it should set up the alleged next season for Norman AND Melissa to co-lead.
4. Equal Screentime
One of S11’s worst crimes was minimizing Carol’s arc. She’s one of TWD’s strongest characters and she shouldn’t have to live in the shadows of every other character’s story or remain on kitchen duty. She can be a weapon of mass destruction, sure, but I want to see emotional growth for her too and not just retroactively.
5. Shared Screentime
They may not be each other’s appendages, but Caryl do have insane amounts of chemistry that fans tune in for, so it should go without saying they need to share scenes together and more specifically, they need to share an arc that allows them to grow together as a couple.
6. Meaningful Interactions
Caryl’s relationship is so deep, they often don’t need words, but in no way should that limit their interactions to lingering stares. I want them to engage in conversation with each other, and I want those conversations to deepen their relationship even more.
7. No. More. Shipbaiting.
It’s tiresome, it insults the characters, actors, and the audience, and it’s not worth paying money for. If I’m going to be pulled in, it’ll be by something I love, not something I don’t.
8. Strong Leadership
Representation offscreen matters too and if Caryl’s story is going to continue, then they need a showrunner who knows how to write character-driven narratives and specifically understands Daryl’s and Carol’s characters/relationship. An upper class white man who’s too focused on his own lore would not be the right fit .
9. Story Integrity
Norman, Melissa, and the writers spent years developing a beautiful narrative for Caryl, and I don’t want to see any of it retconned in service of the lore.
10. Payoff
To be clear, I don’t think this was “the writers’” fault at all, but S11 and the spinoff debacle have left so many holes in Caryl’s story that many fans have come to expect disappointment at every turn and nobody wants to pay to be let down. If AMC delivers on the promises they set up on or offscreen, I will be there, but not a second sooner.
Thank you again to everyone participating in the blitz! :)

Random ask for you!! ❤️
In what episode of TWD would you like to 'join' Daryl? And why ?
Aweee, hello my lovely friend! ❤
Uhhh, omg... What a question! 😱 I LOVE it!
Ngl, I thought about this for ten minutes straight 😂 And I just can't decide. So, I am going to choose an episode of each season. Hope that's okay. 😬
Season 1 - Episode 6 (TS-19)
I am not that kind of person who drinks much alcohol, but man, I'd love to get hammered with Daryl in the CDC. 😂
Season 2 - Episode 5 (Chupacabra)
I would join Daryl in looking for Sophia and not letting him go out alone. We all know what happened. Falling off a cliff and ramming an arrow in his side and almost getting eaten by a walker isn't great. I would've tried to even prevent this from happening and would've looked out for baby boy.
Sidenote: Andrea, wtf, stop shooting him. Geez.
Season 3 - Episode 10 (Home)
Would've accompanied Merle and Daryl and would've tried to talk sense into him and get him back to the prison. Well, it happened anyways in the end, but yeah... Y'know what I mean.
Season 4 - Episode 12 (Still)
Being on the road with Beth and Daryl??? Honstly, that would be so cool. This episode is one of my favourites, 'cause we get to know a bit more about Daryl's past. Believe me, I would've tried to comfort him and burned that shack down with him.
Season 5 - Episode 10 (Them)
Again, one of my favourite episodes. When Daryl sat at that tree, crying, I swear, my heart broke. Maybe that's the reason why I wrote a story for this scene... Of course, I would do everything to help him.
Season 6 - Episode 6 (Always Accountable)
Also a favourite episode of me. I mean... He looked sooo freaking good in that episode. Aside from that, I would've rode with him on the bike and tried to escape Dwight's clutches.
Season 7 - Episode 8 (Hearts Still Beating)
I would burn down the Sanctuary, beat Negan's ass and get my baby out of this hell.
Okay, that's probably a bit too confident, but I'd definitely try to help him escape. I would sell my soul to Negan for this man, ngl.
Season 8 - Episode 1 (Mercy)
Again, would've joined him on his bike and lead the walkers straight to the Sanctuary.
Season 9 - Episode 2 (The Bridge)
Would shamelessly watch Daryl working all day at the brige.
Season 10 - Episode 18 (Find Me)
I'd keep him away from Leah. He definitely deserved someone better than her. Sorry, but no...
Season 11 - Episode 24 (Rest In Peace)
I'd leave Alexandria with him to help him find his brother.
Well... Sorry, my friend, that escalated a bit... 😅 Thank you for asking! Loved to do this! 😁

for the ask game: twd, fear and world beyond :)
GIVE ME A TV SERIES AND I'LL TELL YOU....
TWD
Favorite character: Alden, Sasha, Aaron
Funniest character: Eric is the first person that comes to mind (I love when he's petty<3) but I'm blanking on everyone else
Best-looking character: Magna, Siddiq
3 favorite ships: Aaron/Eric, Denise/Tara, and the most unpopular opinion of all but Rosita/Gabriel is So special to me. Honorable mention to Elijah and Lydia, I know their development happens in the background but the parallels between them are so loud anyway and those last few episodes really got me.
Least favorite character: N*gan
Least favorite ship: Lori and Sh*ne, get him away from her
Reason why I watch it: I know most people hate the bloated cast but I love it for that reason. I favor the later half of the series when there are so many different communities intricately linked, it makes for some really fun dynamics everywhere and there will really never be another show that gives you that
Why I started watching it: I basically had to bully myself into liking apocalypse shows (which is so ironic now because... my favorite things). I tried once and didn't make it past the pilot but then I picked it up a few years later (when season 9 was airing) and got hooked
FTWD
Favorite character: Grace
Funniest character: I'm blanking 😔
Best-looking character: Luciana
3 favorite ships: Grace/Morgan, Sherry/Dwight, Al/Isabelle
Least favorite character: Troy
Least favorite ship: I'm mostly blanking on every other ship in this show but actually the first one that comes to mind is Charlie (a 12 year old) and that 16 year old 🧍♂️ why'd they do my girl like that
Reason why I watch it: I don't always love the plot but I do love the characters so I've been holding on for them
Why I started watching it: I think I might've watched a few episodes of this before I ever started TWD but I was bored... I started again at season 4 because I heard about Al and I loved the concept of a journalist still interviewing people in the apocalypse, then I eventually went back to watch it all.
WB
Favorite character: Iris and Leo are tied but Hope, Felix, Huck, and Silas are sooo close behind.
Funniest character: Elton maybe
Best-looking character: Sorry to be a Joe Holt stan but ♡ Leo
3 favorite ships: Felix/Will, Iris/Percy, Huck/Dennis
Least favorite character: This is one of the rare shows that I love love love every single character so it's really hard to answer this so. I guess Jadis because I have the least connection to her. Everyone else is my family <3
Least favorite ship: I don't think I really have an answer for this because I liked all the established ships... I think Lyla/Leo were cute even though she was betraying him :( so I guess them for technical purposes.
Reason why I watch it: People call it a "teen drama" but I think it's much more aligned with "family drama." At its core its entirely about FAMILY! And the family dynamics in this show are so incredible. The complex siblings, complex friendships, putting your entire trust in someone that's inevitably going to betray you, it's so good to me. I also think coming of age in the apocalypse is a really fun story to tell, especially since these people have lived in the apocalypse for 10 years but haven't actually experienced it. People who hate this show are boring <3
Why I started watching it: I had basically just finished watching TWD for the first time when this show was announced so I was excited to see it from the start, and the premise of it all sounded really fun and I was sooo sad when the premiere got pushed back like... a year. This show is my best friend now.

TOP SHIPS OF ALL TIME:
this is in no order but it will be numbered for my sanity.
1. slexie - mark and lexie/greys anatomy
• i am so attached to this ship, i have never sobbed so hard an my life than when i first watched the season 8 finale/season 9 premiere of greys anatomy. i still rewatch only their seasons quite often.
2. catradora - catra and adora/SPOP
• ultimate comfort ship, i rewatch she ra whenever i am going through it. i first watched it when i was 15 and i still watch it for comfort. 15 is a nostalgic age for me, she ra reminds me of what it was like before anxiety. 😩
3. korrasami - korra and asami/LOK
• another comfort ship, comfort show, etc. lok and avatar are more shows i watched when i was 15, when the pandemic hit i was almost 16. i was locked up in my room, no school, no going out, no friends. i had a basement room with a couch and a huge tv, i spent MANY weeks watching netflix on that couch and the feeling was immaculate. i rewatch the atlau shows VERY often.
4. bellarke - bellamy and clarke/the 100
• once again another comfort show, i rewatch the 100 annually and have been watching it since season 4 came out. my dad started watching it, then my mom, then my sister. it became a show we watched all together, and i had a little ritual when it came to new seasons. i am an impatient person in some ways more than others, i do not have the patience to maintain interest when watching episodes weekly but i have no issue waiting for the whole season to be out. so every year as the episodes came out, i ignored them. when they all hit netflix, i would binge. however, for season 7 of the 100 i waited 2 years. i think i was procrastinating letting it end. bellarke was THE slowburn. i was so sure they would end up together, in a way im glad they didn't, but i loved them so much. i cannot describe the way that i feel when watching them and this show.
5. clexa - clarke and lexa/the 100
• GAY SLOWBURN. y'all i have so many fics i read consistently about clexa. i have like 3 on shuffle that i've read 10 times minimum. i cry like a bitch every time i rewatch s2-3 of the 100.
6. avatrice - ava and beatrice/warrior nun
• so i had heard a lot and seen a lot about this show before i actually watched it, which was actually in january of this year, several months after the 2nd (and final 🥲) season came out. i QUICKLY fell in love w both avatrice and ava/beatrice as individuals. i also read a lot of avatrice fics and cry thinking abt it being cancelled 😭
7. stydia - stiles and lydia/teen wolf
• BEST SLOWBURN OF ALL TIMEEE. it's weird to think teen wolf ended SIX years ago, this is another show i rewatch annually and what's funny is when i was 12 watching this show i did not care for stydia. i liked scott's relationships with allison and kira, never paid much attention to stiles and lydia until i was 16/17 and i rewatched and realized that they are AMAZING.
8. sameena - sam and deena/fear street
• MORE ANNUAL REWATCH SERIES. i LOVE LOVE LOVE these movies, and when i say sam and deena i am also including sarah and hannah. ex's/enemies to lovers in HORROR? forbidden love? sapphics? say less.
9. glaggie - glenn and maggie/twd
• so this was my first ship ever. started watching this when i was 11, i watched it over and over and over, i read the first 3 compendiums of the comics, then season 7 rolled around, i watched three first episode live then never watched another episode last season 6 again.
10. delena - damon and elena/tvd
• honestly they sort of give me the ick now but 12 year old me ATE that shit up, would also like to add they were my sexual awakening. i remember watching one of their spicy scenes and feeling a little funny 🥴
11. wayhaught - waverly and nicole/wynonna earp
• hottest ship ever. i fucking love them and i still need to watch the most reason season which is not that recent.
12. (honorable mention) camren - camila and lauren/5h
• camren gets only an honorable mention bc i don't ship them anymore, but they were MY gay awakening. when i was 13 i discovered fifth harmony and, naturally, i discovered ✨camren fanfiction✨ i literally did not know i was gay until i started reading fics about them. it just clicked when i felt more reading than i ever had for real life boys. :) anyways i don't support shipping real people anymore at my ripe age of 18.

YEAR IN REVIEW
2022 in Review: 11 Dumb Things TV Did
By Team TVLine / December 19 2022, 9:08 AM PST

Attention to all of TV’s Powers That Be: If you’re looking to make a resolution in 2023, we’ve got a suggestion: Make better choices.
That’s right, it is that time in TVLine’s annual Year in Review, where we take stock of some “questionable” calls made over the past 12 months. And we are not talking here about individual cancellations; that’s low-hanging fruit, well-discussed in dozens of other places on this site.
Best TV Shows of 2022 | Stranger Things, The Boys, Andor, More
0 seconds of 3 minutes, 52 seconds
Next Up
No, we instead are raising our collective eyebrow at dubious decisions such a spinoff announcement that killed much tension during The Walking Dead’s final season… a “recasting” misstep on So You Think You Can Dance… CBS going AWOL on a major TV milestone… and The Great British Baking Show‘s half-baked approach to “Mexican Week.”
Also due for dings this year are ABC effectively pitting Bachelorette vs. Bachelorette, some less-than-fantastic fantasy-TV scheduling, and Netflix’s haste in whipping Knives Out 2 out of theaters.
But perhaps foremost in everyone’s minds is the whole HBO Max mishegas! Which wasn’t about any one cancellation but an ongoing “death by 1,000 cuts.”
Review our curation of the Dumb Things TV Did This Year, then feel free to let loose with your own loud, wet raspberries!

THE WALKING DEAD KILLS TENSION WITH SPINOFF NEWS
Share
Photo : AMC
Heading into The Walking Dead‘s 11th and final season, fans already knew that Daryl and Carol would walk out alive, given that in September 2020 it was announced that the twosome would front their own spinoff. (Melissa McBride’s Carol is no longer involved, however.)
But then, with 13 episodes still left to air — including a stretch that strongly suggested that Negan would be executed — another spinoff was announced, revolving around Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan and Lauren Cohan’s Maggie. Meaning that two more fates were effectively spoiled well ahead of the series finale.
“I’m still not sure why we announced that already,” Morgan grumbled in a podcast. “It was sort of a shocker to me.”
TWD showrunner Angela Kang measured her own words a bit more carefully when speaking with TVLine at season’s end, but allowed, “It was definitely on a creative level sort of challenging, because when things are announced is not really in the hands of the actors or producers or whatever. That’s more the studio having to make announcements for their own timing reasons.”

WTF, SYTYCD?
Share
Photo : Fox
After Matthew Morrison was booted as a Season 17 judge for breaking “production protocols,” we were hopeful that his replacement would have the dance knowledge to match that of fellow judges JoJo Siwa and the late, great Stephen “tWitch” Boss.
Instead, So You Think You Can Dance tapped… Leah Remini? The sitcom vet was perfectly pleasant in her critiques, but she made about as much sense on a dance competition panel as Ellen DeGeneres did at American Idol‘s dais.
3
LONNNG-DELAYED STRANGER THINGS 4 STICKS WITH BINGE RELEASE
Share
Photo : Netflix screenshot
We said it before, some have argued with us, and yet we say it again:
With the long-delayed arrival of Stranger Things 4 nearly three years (!) after its Season 3 drop, and given the new episodes’ XL to XXL length, Netflix was gift-wrapped a perfect opportunity to dabble in weekly releases and make the hit series’ return a weeks-long “event” (and without the appearance that the likes of weekly-releasing Disney+ made them “blink”).
They could have really made Stranger Things 4 “appointment” programming for all its fans to consume, scrutizine and speculate about, non-stop over multiple weeks.
Instead, Netflix stuck to its trademark “binge release” model (save for the final two, truly supersized episodes that followed a month later).

BACHELORETTE BUNGLES 2-FOR-1
Share
Photo : Courtesy of ABC
Honestly, this one’s on us: We’re not sure why we expected any less from a show as blatantly manipulative and disingenuous as The Bachelorette. And yet, when Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia were announced as co-leads of Season 19, we assumed they’d be emotionally supported in their pursuit of true love…
…only to learn that both women would be dating the same pool of men, paving the way for humiliating rose ceremonies where Rachel’s roses were straight-up rejected, or several men confessed to Gabby that they preferred Rachel’s looks and personality.
Eventually, yes, Gabby and Rachel got their own separate groups of suitors, but the season was hard to redeem — and neither woman found her forever love, anyway.

For some reason, HBO decided that its adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger’s 546-page sci-fi novel could not be done justice as a closed-ended miniseries, but instead should be spread out over multiple seasons — meaning, that when the drama got cancelled not two weeks after its freshman finale aired, viewers were left thoroughly, and needlessly, unsatisfied.

MORE LIKE 'HBO AX,' AMIRITE?

What a strange few months it has been! And to think that at first, we thought the madness would be limited to the random-at-the-time scrapping of the HBO Max-bound, significantly completed Batgirl movie (and some Scooby-Doo! offering).
And hey, we totally get it. Warner Bros Discovery boss David Zaslav has some $3 billion (with a B!) in debt to reduce, by any means necessary. But that doesn’t change the fact that the harsh calls made across the entire WBD catalog — be they cancellations (Westworld), “un-renewals” (Minx), snuffed premieres (the animated Batman: Caped Crusader) or the removal of titles from the streaming service (Raised by Wolves, Gordita Chronicles) — add up to what feels like a death by a thousand cruel cuts.
Practical from a business sense? Sure. Inelegant and seemingly insensitive in execution? Yep.

CBS AWOL ON M*A*S*H MILESTONE

Over the course of one week in September, four (4!) CBS classics celebrated the 50th (!!) anniversary of their respective premieres: Maude (on Sept. 12), The Waltons (Sep. 14), The Bob Newhart Show (Sep. 16), and M*A*S*H (Sept. 17).
M*A*S*H, to single out one, is widely hailed as one of the very greatest TV shows of all-time, and its seres finale shattered viewership records. So how did CBS commemorate the acclaimed war comedy’s milestone?
By doing nothing. Not even a lazy, one-hour clip show during the sleepy stretch preceding this fall’s Premiere Week.
Instead, Alan Alda was left to tweet out a photo of him and onetime scene partner Mike Farrell toasting the occasion.

PEACOCK MOVE LEAVES FANS IN A DAYS

Telling the loyal fans of a lonnnnnnnng-running daytime soap opera that it will no longer will be available on traditional NBC, but is moving to “streaming,” was a lot for people who are very set in their ways to swallow.
It also created a lot of anxiety for fans at the time, so we have to wonder why NBC Universal didn’t take a flyer and announce in tandem that Days of Our Lives had been renewed for at least another year beyond its current deal that last into 2023? It would have lessened the blow, and made a Peacock subscription feel like a better long-term value.

HOUSE OF THE RINGS OF DRAGON POWER: LORD OF THRONES

Talk about “feast or famine,” fantasy fans! Way back in August 2021, Amazon announced — way in advance — that its long-awaited Lord of the Rings prequel series would debut on Sept. 2, 2022. Eight long months later, HBO decided that its long-awaited Game of Thrones prequel series would debut… not two weeks prior to its fantasy-saga rival. The significant overlap between the two projects fueled a “Which is better?” narrative that inarguably distracted from each series’ particular strengths, instead of letting each enjoy its moment in the pop culture spotlight.

BRITISH BAKING SHOW'S NOT-SO-GREAT 'MEXICAN WEEK'

We can’t blame the hapless British bakers for being utterly unfamiliar with Mexican cuisine — although Carole’s pronunciation of “guac-ee-molo” will forever haunt our dreams. But what could’ve been an instructive introduction to a vibrant culture instead became a woefully ill-conceived train wreck, plagued by outdated stereotypes, peeled avocados (???) and a truly bewildering taco-making challenge. (Tacos aren’t baked!!!) Let’s just hope the next time Baking Show goes international, they do a bit more homework first.

NETFLIX DULLS KNIVES OUT 2 BOX OFFICE
Share
Photo : Courtesy of Netflix
At best, Netflix’s release plan for Rian Johnson’s follow-up to his 2019 hit was “curious”: The mystery thriller was given a one-week, limited theatrical release on Nov. 23, after which it would hit the streamer on Dec. 23.
But a funny thing happened. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery exceeded any expectations at the box office, based on third-party estimates. (No, Netflix doesn’t release theatrical data either!) And amid a quiet stretch at the cineplex, it has been estimated that the sequel could have enjoyed a $40 million to $50 million opening weekend if it had enjoyed a proper wide release befitting a sequel to a hit.
Meaning, many suspect Netflix left a lotta box office bucks on the table by constricting Glass Onion‘s theatrical run in favor of hurrying along its streaming debut.

Does It Ever Get Better - TWD Rewrite Chapter Nine
[TWD FANFICTION-MASTERLIST]
Previous chapter / Next Chapter
Summary: Things never get back to the way they once were. They all had learned this the hard way. But you can make something good out of nothing, with people’s heart. Anna is haunted by her time at the Sanctuary and it eats her alive, but maybe, it could get better for her and maybe she could dare dream of her father, surviving by her side instead of counting the days within the walls of a small cell.
Words: 3.9k
Warnings: Season 9 spoilers (episode 9 and 12 specifically), daddy issues, mention of past toxic relationship, nostalgia, angst, fear of stray dogs, dwelling in the past, motorbyke accident (but no blood, just bruises), guns, overall it’s a pretty safe chapter shouldn’t be triggering I think
Anna followed Judith through the field in Alexandria as the girl walked toward the newcomers. Gabriel and some other survivors were helping them getting ready. The now young adult didn’t pay much attention to what was being said around her as she didn’t care much, to be honest. Judith had asked her to come along and since, when she was asked, she wasn’t doing anything in particular, she couldn’t say no to Judith Grimes as she had no real excuse. Arms crossed, standing behind Judith, she stared at the strangers. She wasn’t a cold person at all but right now, she didn’t want to be here and was just tired. Luke approached Judith to thank her for her help and Anna nevertheless gave him a friendly smile, which he returned, glad to see there weren't any hard feelings in the end. They all led them to the gate and Michonne arrived toward them on horseback.
“Change of plans.” She said, throwing a little figurine at Judith, which the little girl catched easily. “There’s another place like this one. The leader might take you in. I’ll escort you personnally and talk to her.”
“You’re gonna take them to Hilltop ?” Siddiq asked.
“With you.” She pointed at the asian woman with the bandage around the head. “You gotta keep an eye on your patient ‘till we get there.” Judith exchanged a few words and signs with the deaf young woman in their group. She and her friend laughed lightly when Judith did the sign to say "Good luck" wrong. Anna had fun watching the little one every now and then, she really reminded me of her when she was little. Her father was right. And that made her way too nostalgic. Anna understood why he seemed to like her and to be able to kind of bond with her, Judith took him over a decade back. When everyone was gone, she turned to Anna.
“I see you train all day in the back of the house. Why do you always train on your own ?”
“You ask yourself a lot of questions about me.” Anna stated.
“Well, I’m trying to understand you better.”
“All right. Come with me, we’ll train together.” Judith nodded and followed Anna back to the house. On the way, they both grabbed a long branch stick to use as training weapons and Anna spent her afternoon, having fun with Judith, teaching her sword fight. She wasn’t a professional herself but the girl seemed to held her in high regards, wanting to learn things from her. Anna knew that her father would hear them making noises in front of the house and would watch them train. After a while, they stopped and went inside the house to rest. Judith filled herself a glass of water and looked at Anna.
“Anna, could you do another drawing of my dad and Carl, please ? You draw really well.”
“Sure. I’ll start know.”
“Thanks.” She smiled at Anna and went outside again, to do who knows what in the camp. After she got a pencil and a piece of paper she could draw on, Anna focused on making the portrait of Rick and Carl Grimes. The little one had only pictures and sketches to remember her family now. In the evening, she went to drop him the black and white drawings in her room, writing "For Judith Grimes, Anna".
As Anna wandered around the house, struggling to get to sleep, she stepped out onto the porch. A tall figure, alone in the camp caught her attention. She narrowed her eyes and recognized her father's stature. She didn't know if she was imagining things or if it really was him. In doubt, she drew her knife, and walked through Alexandria's compound, to follow the person from behind. He walked over to a perimeter wall, to get out surely. She eventually broke the silence.
“There’s nothing out there.” She put her knife back to her belt as he turned to her. He was just about to throw a shovel over the wall.
“If you wanna come with me, come. I know that if I go, you won't stay on your ass and wait.”
“Hey, you know me well actually.” She joked.
She took the shovel from his hands and climbed up the wall, making sure not to fall back down. Once on top, she let the shovel fell on the other side, passed her legs and jumped. As she stood up, she heard Judith’s voice from the inside of Alexandria, through the wall. After a minute, her father finally joined her. Anna held the shovel out to him and he grabbed it. They then walked away from Alexandria and crossed the forest in silence. The fresh air and quiet of the nature was really enjoyable. She watched her father looking up at the sky, closing his eyes for a second and smiling as the sun licked his skin. After walking for some time, they decided to stop near an abandoned building and crashed in a rusted van. Negan pulled out a zucchini that he surely had taken from Alexandria plantations, and handed a bottle of water to Anna, as he took a bite of it. She drank a little before handing it back to her dad, exchanging it for the other half of the fruit. She almost devoured what was left of the sweet and grassy emerald fruit. A low throat rattle rose from the other side of the van and they looked behind them. A walker was tapping on the glass, staring at them. Anna glanced at her father in silence as he stood up, his small burlap bag and the shovel in hand and walked around the van, baiting the walker to come to him. He threw the bag on the ground and gave the latter a first blow with the shovel but she didn't shudder, still standing up, growling at him, the face bloodied after her skin was pried off by the blow. He hit her hard on the head and finally the rotting walking corpse fell to the ground. He stepped back to the trunk of a pick-up and another walker, completely charred, grabbed him by the shirt
“Shit.” He cursed before he stepped forward for the dead man to let go but he held on and was dragged to the ground, crashing on the bag, torn apart from his legs. He started crawling to Negan as the tall man turned to him, lifting the shovel up in the air and cutting off his head.
“Eww.” Anna winced, seeing it rolling on the ground. He sighed as he looked down at it and walked away, motioning Anna to follow, which she did. After a few hours, as they walked through the forest and eventually came across a river bed. A dirty river bed.
“You definitely shouldn’t drink that.” He ignored her and drank from it anyway and then he stood up. She pouted doubtfully as they resumed walking but as expected, soon after, he crouched back down, making Anna stop suddenly, wondering what was going on until he started to puke, getting everything he had swallowed out. She kept herself from telling him she had told him so, cause it was kind of bitchy and she wasn’t like that. Panting, he ripped off his shirt, cracking the buttons and let it on the floor as he got on his feet. His grey T-shirt was soaked in sweat. Anna looked at the thing he had around his neck. “What’s this ?”
“A compass.”
“Since when do you have a fucking compass ?”
“It’s Judith’s. She lent it to me.” He just said as they started walking again.
“Okay.” She simply nodded without commenting further on it. No, she was not jealous. At least, she wanted to think so. She liked Judith. She was a kind but tough little girl, and the poor kid was an orphan on top of that. Fortunately, she had her mom Michonne. She wasn't all alone.
They both ended up in a sort of ghost town after getting out of the forest. All the buildings were abandoned, blinders down or windows barricaded by wooden or tin planks. Looking around, she saw her dad entering a man’s clothes store and followed him even though she didn’t care. He knocked on a wall with the shovel to check if there were any walkers in the store but luckily, there weren’t any, meaning the place was currently quite safe for them to wander around so Anna immediately did, walking around the clothing displays while he looked if he found anything. There wasn’t much left so she quickly turned around and watched her dad heading to the leather good section of the shop. She smirked, knowing why he went there and what he was looking for. She heard him picking up things, dropping them to the floor and surprisingly, randomly spinning a dynamo lamp. Or at least what she thought was probably a dynamo lamp, because of the noise. She wasn’t with him at the moment so she didn’t really know but once again, she did not really care about it and meander around, zonning out. She got snapped out of her thoughts when she heard growls coming from the street. It wasn't walkers, that much she was certain. It was a bunch of stray dogs for sure. Ever since he told Anna the story he told Judith, when his daughter was younger than Grimes, she had been more or less afraid of stray dogs, especially those that growl at you as soon as they see you or even before, and he knew it. She rushed over to him, noticing that he had returned from the back of the store. He stopped her with his hands and she turned around, realizing that the dogs in question were facing her and her dad.
“Stay calm.” He breathed out, not moving for a few seconds before starting running away all of a sudden, pushing Anna in front of him. They got over two metallic shelves and lied down on top of it while the dog roamed around the furnitures. He rolled his head to the side to check on Anna. She was staring at the ceiling, fidgeting her fingers. They jumped down once the dogs were gone. He grabbed her by the wrist so she would stay close to him and he led her down a corridor, running toward an exit door. Shaking, she grabbed her knife, just in case, as he hrew his shoulders on the door to force it open as fast as he could, before the dogs got to them. The moment it opened, a walker showed up and he grabbed him by the shirt and pushed him inside after dragging Anna outside with him, pressing on the door with his hands to keep it closed. Anna winced upon hearing the dogs gave high-pitched squeals, probably getting attacked by the dead man. She eventually walked away a little to not hear the nasty noises and she twitched when her father put his hand on her shoulder.
“I’m fine.” Her voice was shaking as much as her whole body, and he hugged her. She felt so weak to be so disturbed by the chase with these dogs. She let a sudden cry out and tried to calm down, clearing her throat. “Sorry.”
This hug was the most comforting thing Anna had been given in a long long time, and the fact that this hug involved her father made her inner child happy. He did care about her. He did love her. They eventually went back into the woods, walking across the forest untill they found the Sanctuary. In the meantime, her father had found a rusted metal bar that he was holding like he used to hold his old bat. The Sanctuary hadn’t changed that much. The only difference was that now it was only an abandoned building. A dull, and dilapitaded place inhabited only by walkers, ghosts and memories. Anna looked up to the shattered windows of the floors. She knew where was her room’s window and it made her nostalgic. She had spent so much years of her life in this place. At some point, she though she would never leave and here she was, coming back willingly even though, given the state the Sanctuary was in, they would surely not be staying long. She sighed and followed her father inside. He seemed content to be back, a remembrance of his golden but dark hours. Inside, he whistled a couple times but there was no one left. It wasn’t so surprising, to be honest. Like, what was he expecting? To be given a warm welcome and revive his personality cult ? Anna walked around with a shuffling step and turned to the stairs. She climbed them up in silence.
“Be careful up there, Anna.”
“Yes, dad.” She said, walking away. With her knife in hand, she proceeded with cautious, as her father advised her, and advanced in the floors slowly, to be sure there wasn’t any walkers stuck in there. Yes, she was immune to their bites and scraches but she could still bleed to death or get hurt. She wasn’t immune to pain so she prefered not to tempt fate by playing tough. Luckily enough, she didn’t cross path with any undead. She didn’t linger in the floors that didn’t interest her.
She arrived in the corridor leading to her room and she stared at the door. She entered. The room was dusty, abandoned like the rest of the Sanctuary. Everything was upside down, the dresser’s drawers were thrown on the floor. She had spent so much time dreaming of leaving this room, but this had been her home for most of her life and seeing it like this made her heart ache a bit. She was overwhelmed by the memories this place reminded her of, the feeling that came to her the most was the loneliness she had been affected by. This emptyness that persisted within her and that the sole attention of her father could momentarily fill. Now that she could look back at it with so much more life experience, she could see how toxic it was. Her father never noticed. He was so much into his leader act that he never realized how she was doing. She kicked the drawers to the side to clear the way and approched the window, to glance outside. The bullets that had shattered the windows were no where to be seen. She walked to the shelves. The books were the only things not out of place. Anna grabbed one book after the other, casually throwing them on the floor, for no reason but the pleasure of messing around. After letting a book fall, she heard something slip beneath the bed. She kneeled down and stretched out her arm, grunting softly. She narrowed her eyes as she grabbed an enveloppe. She stood up and opened it. There was a bunch of sheets of paper with small sketches and notes such as “taking Anna’s to her friend’s, be back around 4pm”. It was her mother’s handwriting. A tear rolled down her cheek. She wiped it away and folded the note, she wanted to keep this one. She stepped out of her room and walked to Dwight’s.
After she walked in, she closed the door and held the handle. She saw herself being with Daryl the day he escaped. She remembered the whole interaction. And she remembered what happened next. She followed him, saw Jesus for the first time and ran away from the Sanctuary. She spent weeks on her own, in the wild before being rescued by Rick and Carl. Rick was reluctant to help her at first but she would always be grateful for the trust he put in her afterwards. He was a brave and strong man and from what she had seen, he was a good and just leader who always tried to do his best for his community. He welcomed her in his home and she would never forget it. He gave her the chance she had been waiting for. She breathed out at the thought. She got herself out of her mind and back to reality and looked around in the room. She saw some of the wooden figurines Dwight used to carve back then and she grabbed a couple of them. As she did so, she wondered whether or not he kept carving them. Anna missed him. His voice started to fade in her mind as time passed. She was forgetting the voice of the man that was like a father to her, but the memory of his face was still vivid in her mind. After a moment, she went downstairs and walked to her dad. He was standing near a motorcycle. He raised his eyes at her when she approached.
“Let’s go.” He declared. She nodded and followed him while he brought the vehicle outside. He got on the motorbike and she followed suit, sitting up behind him, wrapping her arms around his chest to cling to him and stay in place during the ride. She rested her face on his shoulder, staring ahead of them. After a while, she narrowed her eyes, noticing a small figure standing on the road in the distance.
“Who the fu–” She was cut off by her own cry when the motorcycle slid on the side, trapping their legs against the concrete. She grunted, wincing as she tried to sit up. Her father managed to free them from the two-wheeled vehicle and she sighed in relief, no longer feeling the sore pressure exerted by the machine on her leg. She remembered that she had taken the small figurines Dwight had carved and she forgot all the pain she felt and rushed her hands inside her jeans pockets. She felt them with the tip of her finger and smiled sligthly. She hadn’t lost them. Looking up, she saw Judith walking over to them and Anna frowned, not knowing what the young girl was doing here.
“All right, slow down, kid.” He asked of her as she walked closer, holding her gun at him. She wasn't aiming at Anna, only her father. “I know you said you’d shoot, but…” He paused, wincing in pain, seated on the dirt. “damn.”
“Whole lot of people are out lookin’ for you.” She glanced at Anna for a second. “You two. But especially you, Negan. Told you there was nothing out there.”
“You sure as shit did.”
“Language !” She exclamed. “I’m a kid, asshole.”
“Yeah. Yeah, you are.” He nodded, smirking before standing up, letting out a grunt. Once on his feet, he held out a hand to his daughter and she grabbed it, wrapping her fingers around his palm and standing up, grunting loudly as well. It was certain that she would have bloody bruises all over her body. And it hurt just to think about it. “What can I say ? I like to swear in front of my friends. People that know some shit.”
“Bet you taught your daughter well then, cause you swear a hell lot in front of her too.” She noted quietly. Anna smirked at her remark.
“I sure did.” He joked, briefly glancing at Anna. He then slid the chain of the compas off his neck and handed it back to Judith. “Thanks for lettin’ me borrow that.” She grabbed it, holding the gun in one hand, still aiming firmly at Negan.
“You’re goin’ back to Alexandria ?”
“Yep. Cell and all.”
“Why ?” She inquired.
“ ‘Cause you were right. I got a good look outside my 10x10, and there’s nothin’ here for me. And even if I decided not to go back, Anna would stick around no matter what I say, and I don’t want her not to have a safe place to be, cause… there is nothin’ left out here. At least, if I go back to my cell, she gets to have a roof over her bed and a comfortable bed to sleep in.”
“So you go back.” She was staring at Negan. “Then what ?”
“I will let you know when I know.” He replied, shrugging. Judith lowered her gun, looking him up and down and shrugged with one shoulder as she turned around and walked away. Anna watched her father smile, amused by the child's strong temper.
Standing on a stool, Anna looked out of the window's cell while her father read, sitting on the mattress on the floor. She had been put in with him because if they couldn't keep her from getting in there, they would keep her from getting out as long as they said so. After all, she had escaped as well. After a long moment, she descended from her perch, catching her father's eye.
“Michonne’s coming.” She said as she sat near him. Michonne walked through the basement door within the minute.
“Welcome home.” Michonne sighed. “I’m surprised it took so long.”
“As of right now, I’ll say a word to your daughter, then it’ll be your turn. I want answers. And I’m told you’ll only give them to me.” She walked out of the basement, waving to the man standing there, as a guard, to open the cell so Anna could follow Michonne outside. She swallowed as she passed the door’s cell, glancing at her father from the corner of her eye. He gave her a worried look when she disappeared on the other side of the wall. “Why would you follow him ? Why did you have to follow him ? I’ll have to beg the concil not to consider you a threat, Anna.”
Her tone was angry and somewhat annoyed by all this. Anna sighed and raised her voice unintentionally. She was tired of repeating the same things all the time and people not understanding her view of things, how she could feel about everything.
“It’s always been only my father and I. It’s how it always worked since, you know… I have nothing left, beside him and wherever he goes, I'd rather be with him than wait for someone to let me know whether or not he is fucking dead.” She paused, trying to gather her wits. Her father was a sensitive subject for her to talk about and this was the only reason that could make her explode and go crazy. Michonne looked away for a second.
“I want to help you.” She breathed out. “Carl… Carl and Rick wanted to help you. I– We thought you finally fit in.”
“You know what I think about 24/7, huh ? My life before all this shit, my life at the Sanctuary, everything that involved either my dad, mom or Dwight but that’s it. Everything I’ve lived here, for the past few years, it’s always the same old routine. Without my dad in it. And it’s such a big deal to me ‘cause everything has always revolved around my dad and now, I’m alone, and he is down there.” She pointed at the basement, pissed off. Anna then walked away suddenly, rushing to Carl’s grave next to what was formerly a church. She sat on the grass and bent her head over, passing her hands on her face in a sigh. Life was so shitty and boring.

I’m so sad tonight is the last night ever of TWD. I’ve been watching since it premiered back in 2010, when no one (including myself) had a clue what to expect. Like a lot of people who were looking forward to the show, I had high hopes and was pleasantly surprised when it exceeded my expectations. Fast forward 12 years and 11 seasons later and I still love it!
Back when it first premiered, I would occasionally come across people who would say, “I don’t like zombie shows” or “I don’t like horror”. I personally do happen to like those types of shows and movies lol but I would always tell people, “Yes it’s a show about zombies but it’s so much more than that!” And 9-10 times those people would watch and they would love it.
It’s honestly my favorite type of show to watch too. People who would never interact with each other under normal circumstances, coming together and forming a family under the most extreme circumstances. A family who was willing to stand up and fight for each other. And for me it provided an escape from the parts of my real life that were difficult and sad. It gave me something to root for, to cry many tears over (both happy and sad), to be absolutely enraged at at times and occasionally laugh at when our characters were lucky enough to have a moment to enjoy life and be silly.
I’ve cried over characters who have died as if they were real lol, I’ve cried for the reunions when characters were separated and found each other again, I’ve loved seeing characters find love, and I’ve yelled at my tv screen at times when I’ve been pissed off by one of the villains (even Negan back in the day lol!). There’s been some episodes that weren’t my favorite and even a couple of seasons that weren’t my favorite either but I stayed loyal throughout because that’s just me. And that’s life right? Not everything is good all the time but if there’s something that makes it worth sticking out, you keep at it and I did lol!
I would never have expected this show to last as long as it has. And despite its spin-offs, it’s still my favorite…it’s the mother ship, the one that started it all! And I honestly feel there’s more stories that can be told. Yes, I know we have the new spin-offs to look forward to and I am looking forward to them, especially Dead City! But this truly is the end of an era and I’m not good at goodbyes!
I’m gonna be really sad for a while. But I want to thank all of you who I have been lucky enough to meet here. There’s some truly kind people here! One of the first things I did when I was lucky enough to see JDM filming Dead City (which was honestly a dream come true!) was come on here and share and you were all so nice to me about it and equally as excited as I was!
I hope you all enjoy the show tonight. I’m equal parts nervous and excited and I’m feeling really nostalgic but I guess a lot of us are. I’ll be on tumblr most of the night and afterwards most likely looking for some emotional support lol but I promise, no spoilers from me in case you haven’t had a chance to watch! 🤫
Sorry not sorry this was so long lol! And also just an fyi, don’t ever let anyone make you feel bad about crying over fictional characters or getting upset about them dying. If they didn’t make you feel something, wtf would you bother watching?! So cry your tears, whether happy or sad! And let’s all be kind to each other (as corny as that may sound!) as we come to the end of this amazing show!
Sending love to you all! 🧟♀️ 🧟♂️ ❤️

Our show and our Lead Couple still kicking ratings ass!
Good news. They are FINALLY letting go of the old live viewing ratings method as the only way and taking in early viewing on streaming into account.
This article still clings to it a little, in the title and some comparisons, but the bottom line is...
"The premiere episode that debuted at 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22 delivered 3.2 million total viewers"
"which has spawned three spinoffs (two on-air, one incoming) and other projects in active development, remains a Top 10 cable drama among key adult demographics
"The Season 11 premiere was available on AMC Plus one week ahead of its linear debut and grabbed the top launch viewership ever for the premium cabler’s streaming platform. Per an inside source with knowledge of the company, it drove the biggest week of new sign-ups for the streamer in 2021 and the episode has also been the top title on AMC Plus across all devices. Notably, the second episode of the season, which became available on AMC Plus last Sunday on the same day the first was being aired on TV, is pacing ahead of the premiere episode and is on track to break its viewership record. "
"For 12 consecutive years, the series has remained the No. 1 series on basic cable among adults 25-34 in live+3 viewing."
So to sum up...linear views may be down, but they are down for every show out there. TWD remains #1, and most importantly for the Caryl nation - Our couple is carrying the show and the show is thriving!
eta - I know people who can't get AMC+ hate this, but I'm just trying to show the show's success. Hopefully, AMC+ will get in gear for you international folks!

TWD Season 11:Episode #1 & #2: ALL KNOWN SPOILERS

Official Episode Name and Synthesis:
Episode #1: Acheron: Part I
Writers: Angela Kang and Jim Barnes
Synthesis: Returning to Alexandria from a critical food mission, the group realizes it isn’t enough. Maggie proposes a new plan, potentially a suicide mission. What choice do they have? Once on the road, a violent storm erupts forcing them underground into a subway tunnel. As nerves fray and suspicions increase, chaos ensues. The terror is relentless as our people get a glimpse of what Maggie and her group endured prior to returning to Alexandria. Meanwhile, those captured by the strange soldiers are relocated to another undisclosed location.
Episode #2: Acheron: Part II

With very little ammo and energy remaining, the group must ready themselves as the walkers have found a way inside the subway train. Normily My Caffeine Withdrawal Podcast episode (transcript of certain parts)
EK intro: I first met Norman Reedus working on The Walking Dead of course. Over the course of my four seasons on our show, I got to know Norman better and better and we became good friends. And in a sort of interesting parallel, our characters storylines also became more intertwined within the show. Norman is so special, he seems to have endless amounts of creative energy that I find incredibly inspiring. He also has great taste in music and coffee which makes him a perfect guest for this podcast. Welcome back to My Caffeine Withdrawal, I am so incredibly excited to share this episode with all of you today. Norman has so many fans and I know this to be true because everyday someone in my life or someone on social media asks me ‘hey, how was it working with Norman? What is Norman Reedus like?’ Well, now today you guys are going to get to know Norman in the same way that I know Norman! We talk about how Norman got into acting and when and why he moved to California, as well as what his life was like as an artist first starting out in Los Angeles. We talk about a book he’s been writing! And he tells a lot of great stories! But first, Norman explained his current coffee setup situation and how he’s currently weathering the quarantine from Costa Rica.
This gets long so putting it behind a cut!
I put a timestamp of where each segment starts at the end of them!
NR: Hi Emily!
EK: Hi!
NR: I just set this up cause I’ve been listening to your podcast which I really like and I know it’s heavy on the coffee so I brought my coffee setup down the mountain in my backpack on the motorcycle and this is my coffee jam here (I’m not 100% sure of the last 2 words) so, this is what I do. You ready?
EK: Yes!
*NR shows her & describes his coffee process*
EK: What was the thing um, on Instagram, you posted this picture of a hummingbird, that was crazy! What made you post that?
NR: It’s this person that I’ve become friends with, they only try to post positive things…*he explains more about the person & post* (starts at 6:08)
EK: You wanna hear something kind of crazy about the hummingbird thing? I don’t know if you know this about me but I’ve definitely gotten more like spiritual…but like *Emily giggle* this is gonna sound crazy and I don’t even usually talk about this stuff, but I sort of have this sign of when I’m like guided where I’m supposed to go, and my sign has been a hummingbird. And you had text me and I randomly looked at your Instagram and saw—
NR: Wow
EK: —It definitely was like one of those where like ‘go there’, maybe it was just if there is a god or whatever just being like ‘oh nice, connect with your friend, you know, like connect with Norman…’
NR: I actually believe all that. When I texted you I was having breakfast at this place by the beach, the lady that makes the honey, by her place. And I was listening to your podcast with Lennie. And I had already heard Lauren’s and I was listening to Lennie’s, and at the end of it you were like ‘you know what I hope during Covid everyone can reach out to a friend’ and I was like ‘I’m just gonna text her’ so I texted you at that moment. I have the same thing with a bird like my dad, before my dad died he was always talking about cardinals, those red cardinals. So everytime I see a cardinal I think the same thing. And then the night before, Danai called me out of nowhere. I hadn’t spoken to Danai in forever. And she’s like ’what are you doing?’ and I’m like ‘I’m sitting on my patio with all the lights off…’ and there was a meteor shower, it was called like the Gideon meteor shower, this huge meteor shower that happened. And I saw 21 shooting stars before I went to bed. I pay attention to all that shit—
EK: Yeah
NR: 21! And I was like talking to her I’m like ‘there’s 11! There’s 12!’ and it just kept going. I believe all that stuff.
EK: I grew up Catholic so I kind of, like…religion in general felt sort of overwhelming even though prayer and stuff like that came naturally to me and then just over like the last like 5 or 6 years or so I’ve like really embraced it where I’m sort of like ‘yep, I think these things are happening, I have little signs that tell me like where to go…’. I guess I don’t really talk about it with people much but it’s just, like I read about it and stuff. Yeah.
NR: I believe it, I believe all of them. I’m not really religious but I believe all those signs all the time. I see little signs in everything, yeah.
EK: Yeah! (starts at 9:38)
--
EK: That sounds like you’ve had a very productive quarantine, or whatever this corona-pocalypse quarantine time.
NR: I’m not good with sitting still, you know what I mean, so I’m always doing something.
EK: Yeah! Yeah. I mean that’s one thing, when I was thinking about—when I was around you more working on the show, was that you were always…like you know sitting down to dinner and then like noticing this saltshaker and this fork should be next to each other in a certain way and then you can take a picture. You know what I mean, like I remember that about you like always making something, I guess. Or looking for the art in it or the picture. Or, you know, which um—
NR: it’s ADD or something I dunno what…
EK: I admired it because I feel like I can be so slow. Like, I love making stuff but I can sort of like piece it together over weeks and then I finally do—like in my head somehow, like I’m more of like a turtle! You know just like—
NR: Yeah but you make music! I mean, we all wish we could write songs and perform songs. You know, you make music. We all wish we were musicians, you know what I’m saying, so. (starts at 18:18)
--
EK: I remember you telling me a story of how you got an agent by like going to a party and then someone said ‘do you want to be in a play?’ and then you were the understudy and then the guy just happened to have to call out so then you were in the play, you didn’t have to be the understudy and then an agent—and that’s how it all started with acting, um, *laughs* did I just tell your story for you?!
NR: You’re right. No, no you’re exactly right. That’s exactly what happened. (starts at 26:08)
--
NR: I actually made an album, a music album
EK: You did?!
NR: Yeah
EK: Oh, that’s—you wrote all the songs and stuff? Or did you—
NR: I didn’t write any of it. And I didn’t really sing it, it’s more of a spoken word thing
EK: Yeah!
NR *tells story about how this came about, which involves an igloo*
EK: Wait, why were you in an igloo in Switzerland?! *laughs*
NR *tells more of the story…it’s long ok I don’t wanna transcribe it sdhfhsfh*
EK: Yeah I wanna hear your album! I mean…
NR: It’s out—
EK: It is?!
NR: It played…it did pretty well in France, it was on the radio and shit
EK: Yeah, will you email it to me or something, so I can…
NR: I will. Yeah yeah.
EK: I also wanted to make sure today to get some of your music picks because I remember back when we were on the show you always gave me the best music, like stuff that I hadn’t heard. I don’t know if if it’s just like because of your friends in New York or like maybe you’re a little bit older than me so you know different bands than I do. But, I remember like Dinosaur Jr., you like introducing me to Dinosaur Jr. Like I didn’t really know Dinosaur Jr. before you
NR: That’s crazy that you don’t know Dinosaur Jr. then (? I really can’t tell for sure that last word he says)
EK: I know! I think I might have pretended that I kind of I knew but like you introduced me for sure and I like totally dove in. But yeah during this quarantine, what have you been listening to?
NR: *lists some bands* Sean Lennon’s band that he made with Les Claypool is really good. He was on Ride with me.
EK: Oh, he was?! I’ve only see—I haven’t seen all the episodes of that, I’ve only seen, um, a few of them (adsdfdjf don’t lie Emily it’s probably actually 0 but we all understand babe) (starts at 35:10)
--
EK: It was so fun to talk to you today
NR: Yeah I miss you! I miss you, it’s good to see you and hear you.
EK: I miss you too, I’m going to check out that sock method…although I think it’s just pour over it’s just with a special…reusable—
NR: Yeah, a dirty sock
EK: Yeah, but something about it, yeah….*both laugh* Thank you for being on here, it feels so good to like chat with you
NR: Yeah, I miss you it’s good to hear your voice
EK: I miss you too, yeah. *she starts talking about twd & the connection with everyone etc* (starts at 41:36)
NR: *after he mentions everyone from the cast he’s still in touch with* You get these friendships with people and it becomes a big part of your life, your friends on the show, so. I’m glad I’m talking to you
EK: Yeah, I’m glad I’m talking to you too. (starts at 44:03)
From Emily’s end blurb: I hope you guys enjoyed Norman and I’s little catch up call over Zoom, I hope that you learned something new about Norman you didn’t know before. You know, Norman and I really hadn’t connected much over the last couple years (we all know this Emily and we pretty much all know why lol) we’ve just been on sort of different paths (yeah, that’s a way to put it I guess haha) but again and again I’m finding that one of the blessings of this time, being stuck at home, is remembering and reconnecting with people I care about and people that care about me. Maybe you have a friend you used to work with that you haven’t caught up with for a while and now you’ll feel inspired to send them a little text saying hello.
(How do they literally have chemistry on a *podcast* okay bye I’m going to go fly into the sun now)
#emily kinney#normily#i remember the old days ok i'm not putting this in the nr tag lol#jeez this took a while...i feel like i'm back in 2014-17 lol#can't believe he invited himself on the show lmaoo#like i can but...why is he like this#i realize that isn't said specifically but it's kinda the natural conclusion

Walker Words TWD Question Tag!
I was bored and drinking so I came up with this! Feel free to reblog it and answer the questions yourself! I’m curious to see what ya’ll answer!
*contains spoilers for entire aired show*
QUESTIONS
1) RICK OR DARYL?
Rick
2) WHAT COMMUNITY WOULD YOU WANT TO LIVE IN?
Alexandria
3) IF YOU COULD BRING BACK ONE DEAD PERSON, WHO WOULD IT BE?
Carl
4) IF YOU COULD KILL A LIVING PERSON WHO WOULD IT BE?
Magna, sorry not sorry
5) BEST NICKNAME FOR THE DEAD?
Walkers, obviously
6) WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE SEASON?
It’s a tie between season 6 and season 10
7) BEST VILLAIN?
Alpha
8) WORST VILLAIN?
Governor
9) TOP FIVE FAVOURITE CHARACTERS?
Rick, Daryl, Negan, Aaron, and Lydia
10) DOES NEGAN DESERVE REDEMPTION? WHY?
Absolutely. I think people tend to forget that Rick and people killed so many damn saviors and Negan literally only killed 3 of them by his own hand. I think that he is a much more complicated character than people think. I think his actions in both seasons 9 and 10 show that. Give me redemption arc!
11) SADDEST DEATH?
Carl, I couldn’t stop crying
12) WHO’S BACKSTORY (ALIVE OR DEAD) DO YOU WANT?
JESUS
13) FAVOURITE DEATH?

For the ask thing :3:
Top 5 animals? Top 5 fav/comfort movies? Top 5 fav cartoons/shows?
I’m honestly glad to know theres other people including you who actually like Pakku and his character :3 Yes he was a completely asshole at the start but he did change, it’s just that it was so subtle that not everyone saw it
Also random song associations with characters:
Fighter by Jack Stauber reminds me very well of Piandao, Pakku, and Jeong Jeong as their younger selves during the war.
Why do I associate Grace by Lewis Capaldi with Bumi? (the music video tho would give more context to why it might make sense)
Oh Klahoma by Jack Stauber reminds me of Piandao and his overall anxieties for his partners.
Consider some of these songs as sorta song recs? Idk but still :3
1. Giraffes!! the reason why their tongues look like That is cause of extra melanin and to prevent sunburn!!
2. Seals!! there are 33 different kinds of pinnipeds and there over 50 extinct pinnipeds
3. Dogs!! they can only see in shades of blue and yellow, so bright red roses look yellowish brown and lively green grass look dehydrated and dead
4. Crows!! a group of them are called a murder
5. Cows!! they’re actually colorblind, they can’t see red specifically, so male cows, bulls aren’t getting mad at the color, they’re getting angry at the movement
1. The Losers movie from 2010, it’s a action mystery movie about Clay and his team that are a part of an elite US Special Forces Unit and are approached by a mysterious woman to exact revenge on their handler, Max, who betrayed them and just,,,the characters, CHRIS EVANS, jake jensen and all of his kinda weird glory, THE ELEVATOR SCENE, also cougar!!
2. Captain America and The Winter Soldier movie, it’s a action movie, which makes me realize that a lot of my faves are prolly gonna be action something, but anyways, it’s about Steve Rogers, who now lives in the nation's capital as he tries to adjust to modern times. An attack on a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague throws Rogers into a web of intrigue that places the whole world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Natasha Romanov, and a new ally, Sam Wilson, Steve struggles to expose an ever-widening conspiracy, but he and his team soon come up against an unexpected enemy. oh my god,,,just,,,the fight scenes, the running scene at the beginning of the movie, steve meeting sam that way, just everything!! this was also my introduction to marvel so in my mind no other marvel movie can live up to this (other than spiderman away from home)
3. Spiderman Far from Home, again, it’s a action movie, i’m not gonna explain this cause the post is getting long, but!! mj and peter!! just,,,all of their scenes!! also jake gyllenhaal!! the fight scenes!! the soundtrack!! everything about it is amazing!!
4. Thunderforce, again, i’m not gonna explain, it’s an action adventure and comedy movie (ofc it is look at the other 3 🙄 /s), the relationship between lydia and emily!! the relationship between lydia and emily’s daughter!! the humor!! the fight scenes!! the soundtrack!!,,,,just everything about is good despite the bad ratings
that’s more like a top 4 than a top 5 but that’s like,,,,all the movies i genuinely like and will rewatch if given the chance and for that where’s a honorable mention: Hamilton (the movie version on disney+ that came out i think nearly a year ago), the soundtrack is amazing, the characters are better, got some funny moments and is mostly historically accurate, like yeah angelica did forget her name cause at the time of her meeting alex ham, she was married to a man named john church (or something church idk) so her last name was church but she introduced herself to alexander as angelica schuyler, not angelica church, so in satisfied she was telling the truth about forgetting her own name, but in the same song she said that her father had no sons even though the real angelica had 3 brothers.
1. Avatar the last Airbender, ofc or else i would have a blog (mostly) centered around it and it’s sequel /s but fr though?? it’s such a good show!! zuko’s redemption arc, iroh’s redemption arc (even though his more subtle than zuko’s) , aang!! love him and his character so much, especially when he gets to be a sassy little shit, sokka and his shit humor and brains, katara, toph, hakoda and HIS shit humor, the fight scene with hakoda (he fights kinda like a waterbender, using his opponent’s momentum against them), bato and his lovely, lovely voice, piandao, aang going ‘how about he get on YOUR back and you can fly us to the south pole’ or something like that to sokka after he complained about appa not flying higher, the boiling rock episodes, hakoda apparently being a good dad but a shitty prison riot starter (love that for him), just!! atla is such a good ass show, im not changing my mind. also!! i like the way they introduced ozai, not showing his face but still presenting him as not only a shit dad, but a shit person as well, like up until book three, we only saw him like, the neck down and in like, a flashback or two (i don’t really remember how many flashbacks ozai was in actually cause it’s nearly been a full year since i last watched it) and that’s it, so it made seeing his face for the first time all the more better cause you was already like ‘what the hell does this shitbag look like’ and then you see him and now ur like ‘oh!! THATS what he looks like!!’
2. The Legend of Korra, again, ofc or else i wouldn’t have a blog (mostly) centered around it and it’s prequel, just,,,,korra’s arc from being hot headed to calm is fantastic but also sad considering the way she went from that to this, korra’s book 1 character!! for whatever reason i really like b1 korra, just,,her design, her hair style (even though she had it for nearly the entire series) just!!! book 1 korra <3, also the entirety of book 1!! just amon posing as a anti bender nonbender despite being a waterbender himself, the scene where tenzin and his kids nearly lost their bending, which would’ve meant that, if tenzin did lose his bending but his kids didn’t, that would’ve meant the strongest airbender would’ve been his 11 year old daughter, the gruesome way to end the season finale episode by doing a murder suicide which was dark as fuck for what?? a kids show??, also the villains in this show!! their good as hell!! the backstory of the red lotus and how and why they were created?? amon and his anti bending?? kuvira and her plan to basically rule the earth kingdom (idk i haven’t finished book 4), unalaq and his spiritual stuff and wanting to become a dark avatar and fusing with vaatu?? also!! the other disturbing scene of korra basically getting tortured near the end of book 3, i mean?? it deadass left her hella traumatized and unable to walk, again hella dark for a fucking kids show
3. The Walking Dead, even though i haven’t finished it or watched in like, 4-5 months, i just,,,the way the presented negan!! practically foreshadowing him the entirety of season 6!! him appearing at the very end of the season 6 finale and pretty much having an entire episode dedicated to him in the very beginning of season 7 (which is why some fans argue he was introduced in s7 not s6 cause of the fact that he didn’t show up until the very end of the s6 finale but had an entire episode with him in it in s7, while others say vice versa cause the very the first time we see him was in s6 not s7), the fact that the walking dead logo was getting progressively more and more decayed as the series go on?? the fact that the WALKERS (the zombies) are getting more and more decayed as the series go on?? dale’s death scene?? shane’s death scene?? negan’s relationship with rick’s daughter?? the fact that this show also has what?? 11, 12 seasons?? which reminds me that i’m still on season 9 of twd
4. Sabrina the Teenage Witch, just,,,salem and his sarcasm?? sabrina’s aunts?? sabrina herself?? just!! everyone is just so fucking funny in this show it’s unreal, specially salem!! a lot of my favorite scenes have salem in them, the ‘are you on a women’s chat room again?’ (or something like that) and salem saying ‘i like the attention’ in response, that one harvey and salem scene that i don’t know how to describe without turning this into a giant paragraph like the ones before this one
5. blue’s clues, it was my favorite childhood show and i love the reboot of it so much!! especially p for pride moment in that song i don’t remember the name of, blue themself!! steve leaving which was sad but getting an equally amazing host in the process?? amazing!! the scene where salt and pepper introduced their baby, paprika?? just,,,it’s such good show and i loved it when i was younger and i still love it now!!
#asks#moots#piandao was in what? two episodes?#but do i still love him? i do no doubt#oof i really need to catch up on twd#long post#this got long as shit oof

TWD ending news; thoughts and speculations
Caryl 📺 💖 Richonne 📽
TWD is ending soon! -not quite.
Here’s my thoughts on it. the lows and highs. Anyways so yeah 9/9/20 was a crazy TWD news day.(and other tv news too, wtf tv gods. Yeah ..been a crazy tv week.) wtf, why that day? and I guess it’s like an unofficial Caryl day, huh? lol So it’s overwhelming. I wanna write it all out and my feels. ok I guess I’m not that super excited or invested to it than others..idk I guess the excitement will hit me later or gradual. :P ok...idk I don’t wanna speculate too much. We don’t know much on it still.
So .... they’re/AMC saying TWD show (Rick’s/Grimes show) will end in a super sized s11. TWD finally got an ending plan! lol this show/franchise. I don’t mind that it’s ending or whatever, I mainly want a good story...a good written ending. But it’s all based on how if I still enjoy this show/franchise.. ok. Plus there’s a Caryl spin-off show and anthology spin-off show later on. +movie.
It’s a long post and I kinda mapped it out.
So in a *timeline*, in October it’s the s10 ep 16 “finale” episode. Recently, we’re also getting s10C (coronavirus pandemic bonus episodes) - six episodes I think, in Spring ‘21 (filming in October ‘20). They’re like inbetween episodes to s11. Idk what they’re like. standalone episodes? And then they’re gonna do the series’s final season, s11, with 24 (12+12)episodes. Idk when it starts. They film next summer, i guess, and show it in the Fall ’21 and Spring ‘22. Then it’s the spin-off shows, and Caryl..but I wanna focus more on Caryl spin-off show. That will be I guess in ‘23. ...And a movie(s) :D but everyone’s doubtful and clueless of it but I think it will be filmed next year, ‘21. (and there’s TWD:WB and FTWD soon)
Ok yeah so ldksjfaljdflsj they say it’s sad news that TWD ending but like lol it doesn’t seem like it..from a Caryler I guess, +movie. So, I have theories and I’m like not so sure what’s really gonna happen. I need more info and well we never know what the writers or the future gonna do. Yeah first of all, these plans~~~, and yet we’re in the pandemic and dumb governing on these things. So I’m gonna guess these plans are gonna change or slow down. You never know. Ok.
I’m also like surprised that there’s gonna be a Caryl spinoff show. (it’s like if they made a Daryl spin-off show. Or any spin-off show..) I mean I didn’t think MMB and NR were still wanting to keep working on TWD/AMC. I thought like any actor..would want to do new things...Ok but they wanna keep working on AMC. NR -I’m not surprised cos he’s like a busy bee..um idk but yeah. Instead of Daryl show it’s now Caryl show from what I suspected-ish. And from the news they sound like it’s a shippy thing. It was also planned since 2018 I think..and “let’s go to New Mexico.” They knew long ago. So, I speculated awhile ago, when we learned that MMB and NR have contracts ending till s12. It’s like we all kinda suspected right that TWD will end in s12 except in episode # count. S10C + s11 (24 episdoes/+8 exra). They combined it earlier. Why earlier Idk...the pandemic? Or Gimple’s plan in franchise timeline?
So yeah that Caryl spin-off show! Like I hope it means that Caryl are romantic and endgame on this.👀 The more I read on this and thought about it. I don’t want to like get my hopes up too high or whatever. I don’t really trust writers.. eh ...it all depends on the story every time. I also think of the fandom/carylers on how they react to a canon-Caryl or even how the writers will show canon-Caryl. Because writers..like usually writers don’t write canon couples romance well. It’s usually love triangle, reunite a bunch of times, or breakup/makeup a lot. eh. I just hope they make Caryl story good and interesting. Another thing Caryl ship had always been like a subtle ship and angsty. We get bits and bits to keep going ..so a full attention of Caryl or canon-Caryl will be different. I hope it all goes well. :3 It’s all reminds me of Mindy Project show ..there’s always sides in the fandom. Some won’t like it, some will but it’s always about the main couple. Oh, my thoughts of Caryl show is that it will be like Bones, SPN, FTWD, or BeIIarke -_- lol , or something.
So from what I read when they already want to keep going with the spin-off show back in ‘18, the Caryl spin-off show will actually cost less than the TWD main show. It’s interesting. It’s all contracts, deals, Netflix, $ stuff. The show might not be international and on netflix, Idk. You know the ratings aren’t that great and most fans left,..but I guess they can still make the Caryl spin-off show. (a season or more idk) I was thinking it might be a Caryl-only show with different cast and set ...or the Caryl spin-off show might actually be just like TWD main show-s10 but different deals $ etc, and they can do whatever.
Oh, that it’s a spin-off then, and not now in s10 and s11, because the TWD main show will be done adapting the comic book storyline..(instead of thinking of the MMB and NR’s contracts). Yeah one of the theories.. like really Idk why we have Caryl spin-off show when s10 and s11 is pretty much already a Caryl show..with Maggie. But I guess it’s all due with contracts and stuff. And I guess it works timely with the comic storyline. Though the comic storyline parallel/adapting is so different now. It’s very broad parallels. I guess it all works out in little ways. contracts, comics, and starting fresh. The Caryl spin-off show, they can really get away from the Grimes/Rick storyline which I like that it’s gonna be really separated by being a different show. (I guess also AMC have more control too.) It’s not on the same main show/s10 and on. Like storywise, I like that TWD show is always about the Grimes and it feels like it will be done right and completed to end it in s11 and that is based on comics/and the Grimes (I hope). If that make sense? Rick/Grimes show,is based on comics, will have an ending...TV-wise. Because there’s the movies too supposedly. Yeah maybe I’m not sad..because there’s the Rick movies thing in the works too. I hope s11 will still be about the connection to the Grimes. Like everyone looking after Judith and RJ and figuring out what to do with finding Richonne and stuff. To set up for the movies. (and TWD WB s2?) Because if not, then ugh then AMC should’ve had the main show ended in s10. Wow.., the show is not based on the comics like it was before and I really can’t speculate s11 and on. Like I hope the writers got juicy stories to tie in with Rick and Michonne, and Maggie/Commonwealth comic stuff. uhh. So yeah Caryl spin-off show it means they can do whatever and writers/me? don’t have to worry that if it’s not connecting with the Grimes storyline. If AMC/Gimple wants to connect everyone.
And one of my theories or hope is that Caryl looks after Grimes kids ...in s11 and search for Rick/Richonne or help him, in part of the bigger plot of Rick movie story, in the spin-off show. Like Caryl will work on plan that later helps out Rick in the movies later on. Yeah and I just think the Rick movies are more like “TWD movies” where all the characters in the franchise will be part of the story. So yeah Rick reunites with everyone. The end, Happy ending! :3 So there’s many ways Caryl show might be like: same cast from TWD show that AMC controls more/Caryl leads/not based on comics(romantic or not), Caryl-only show, or Caryl kinda in part of the Rick movies story-like helping him in some way. etc. Oh, ..I was also thinking it’s like I guess FTWD .. I was also thinking Morgan and his friends might be also be in part of helping Rick’s plans in the Rick movies too. (.. if Gimple wants to do that.) I hope Caryl will be romantic..I don’t want a “Caryl spin-off show” when it’s just same cast and Caryl still not together. eh. ..Why call it “Carol and Daryl spin-off show”? So I guess it’s gonna be shippy.
So I think the Rick movies (which so far is still happening and three of ‘em.../if) will be after s11 and after TWD WB s2 - ‘21/22. idk when FTWD comes.
Oct ‘20 - TWD:WB s1
spring ‘21 -TWD s10C
summer ‘21? - TWD: WB s2/ends
fall ‘21 and spring/summer ‘22 (or fall ‘22? lol) - TWD s11
‘22? *rick movie 1? (...with everyone there?)
‘23 Caryl spin-off show s1
‘23 and on? * rick movie 2? movie 3?
....etc.
So...you get it..like it’s like some big overall storyline Gimple is doing. But plans can change and anything could happen. I may be speculating wrong. Who knows. sigh. I just want Team Family reunited with Rick again and a good ending as best as writers can do. :B If they can’t make a movie(s) then I hope Gimple find a way to end Rick’s story for fans.
sigh yeah tired of the fandom complaining and assuming/speculating wrong. (like hating on the spin-off show when they don’t know what a spin-off show is.) blah. idk. tired of shippers..generalizing. (I ship both Caryl and Richonne so. sigh go away drama) I’m tired of fans being biased and doubting and singling things out. I feel like we all won. But anyway until more news and facts it is what it is. I wanna wait till when things actually happen or news that say something won’t happen. Keep waiting and hoping on :] *Caryl on*
