Oh boy everyone get ready this is a long list. In descending order, from mildly funny looking back on it to "oh god oh shit oh fuck":

5. Catfishing: College Edition

In 6th grade, I decided to apply to colleges early to see how they were like. I was scared that if they knew I was too young, they'd arrest me. So I created a gmail account as my persona, a white 12th grader named Emilie Alexander. Emilie was planning to go into nursing, dating a high school linebacker named Kyle Kenderson, and deathly allergic to bee stings. If she even came near a bee, she would die.

This part was of the utmost importance.

See, I was constantly paranoid that one day, the jig would be up- I might forget that my fake last name was Alexander. Or the college dean might come knocking at my door and tear up my home in his mad search for Emilie. If that happened I would fake her tragic death, presumably caused by one big fucking bee.

I secretly collected my information. What nearby states were the prettiest to visit. Which colleges were the safest and most affordable. How often they held courses that I liked. In my emails with colleges I tried to sound as mature and professional as possible.

Then, one day, a college member asked me what high school I was in, so they could check my records.

My blood froze.

It was time to bring out the bee.

In response to their question, I sent an email that was like this:

"Dear Mr. McLaughlin, I was a proud graduate of- ugh! Ah! Kyaaaa! Uwaa! W-w-what's this... huge goddamn bee doing here?! Eek, pardon my foul language! It's just that, as I told you earlier, being stung by a bee would kill me.... and now it's stung me thrice (three times)!!

What do I do?! I can't die... I've always wanted to attend your beautiful college...

He never responded, probably because he was rendered speechless, but I never touched that account again.

4. Wild and Authentic

Alright. Alright. So. My art teacher in middle school.

Right off the bat, they endeared themselves to the tumblr art kids- they proudly used they/them pronouns, dyed their hair vibrant colors, deeply encouraged OC creation, and was chill with any art style even if it was anime. Mx. Mason was very cool, except for one thing.

We had complete artistic freedom when it came to their assignments, EXCEPT FOR ONE THING.

Cats had to have extremely distinct whisker pores.

YES, they believed that modern depictions of cats were too streamlined. Too... idealized. As a cat owner themselves, they were convinced that society's vision of cats did not do their feral feline ancestors justice. In making their faces flawlessly smooth-furred, we were stripping the cat of its true nature.

I found this out the hard way, when I was drawing warrior cats fanart for class (it was of Firestar cuddled in the arms of an orange haired anime catgirl who was his reincarnation in my first ever comic series, Warriors Neko Desu! ♡ Heart Academy Dokidoki).

Mx. Mason came over to look at my magnum opus, and I expected them to have their socks knocked off at my artistic talent. They lifted up my drawing for all to see, and I smugly leaned back in my seat.

Only for them to launch into a passionate lecture about how, in neglecting to draw whisker pores on cats, I was DENYING THIS FICTIONAL CAT OF ITS WILD AUTHENTIC SELF.

My friends absolutely lost it when I told them this story, and there was a period of time when all our discord nicknames were wild and authentic too.

As for Firestar and his counterpart Hoshineko Orenji-chan, I never did give them wild authentic whisker holes, but that's to be expected of a kittypet, I guess.

3. Stan Jungkook Or Whatever

A couple years ago, my family and I flew to Seoul, South Korea, to visit our relatives and teach me more about my heritage. It was very nice! I got to visit shrines and festivals and palaces, and I was in awe that this was what my ancestors had once seen in their daily lives.

Then, when we went to the modern side of Korea, I realized just how much I didn't fit in.

It was clear that I didn't know how to act, or how to speak Korean, and I spent my days fumbling around and getting scammed multiple times by salesmen. But I clowned myself the most... during an interactive event with kpop stars.

They had this experimental event where holograms of the boys would sing onstage and dance in place of the actual idols. Before the show began, girls could stand in booths that scanned their appearances, and holograms of THEM could dance onstage with the hologram boys.

I didn't know this.

When Cousin Ae-cha told me to step inside one of the machines, I thought I'd be hilarious and stand backwards, so it would scan the back of me instead of my front. As I walked out, I saw other girls putting on their best makeup, cutest clothes, and most expensive accessories, and I slowly realized that I was in danger.

But the danger didn't come until halfway through the concert, where the boys looked eagerly off-stage and a holy staircase appeared and all the hologram girls descended from heaven. There were cherry blossoms. There were roses. There was me, among the crowd of beautiful airbrushed girls, walking backwards.

I felt the judgemental gazes of twenty girls and their mothers.

Each boy danced with a girl, who got a cute animated moment with special effects, and sang about how they found a dream girl to have a true love romance with. Finally, all the girls vanished except one, and it was me.

One of the boys didn't dance with any girls, and now he was all alone in the rain, feeling dejected that HE did not find his true love girl to have a dream romance with. Then the rain stopped, the sun came out, and I emerged. Still backwards.

He was thrilled and sang about how my face (that he didn't see) stole his heart, and now everyone in the audience was giggling, and he slowly brought me very close to kiss me... but because I was backwards, his nose was cutely nuzzling my hair.

The audience members- at least the adults- were now laughing their asses off. His lips met the back of my head, and together we vanished into the wind.

I'd say I couldn't show my face there ever again, but I never did show my face, so... hm...

2. Horrid Little Temptress

If I wasn't a minor, I'd need a drink before starting this story. Sadly, I cannot drown my sorrows- and neither should you after you hear this, because it's only fair.

Mrs. Appleby was my Spanish teacher in like, 9th grade. Even the wild and authentic art teacher thought she was insane. Appleby forced kids to brew tea for her and yelled at them when they didn't get it right, and I thought she had a chronic squint until I realised she just did that to mock me and my Asian eye-folds. She forced us to watch Dora the Explorer to "absorb knowledge." Everyone fucking hated Mrs. Appleby.

But the worst thing she ever did... was during the school festival.

See, whenever she's angry, she zooms right into kids' faces to scream at them. Her wrinkled flesh would blot out the goddamn sun and all you see are her bloodshot yellow eyeballs so victims just stayed rooted to the spot like cornered animals or something similar. This is important.

Because when she was sampling her own brownies (read: hoarding them so no one else could eat them), one parent foolishly decided to grab one and she thought it was a student and she grabbed his wrist so hard she could've nearly snapped it and... and... zoomed into his face.

Except she underestimated his height and kissed him by accident, but it was more like her mouth was sucking in his face like a vacuum.

His wife was shrieking like an ape. His kid, my classmate, saw his social life flash before his eyes.

In her defense, she did not mouth to mouth with him on purpose and afterwards she cried in the bathroom and when I foolishly followed her in to comfort her, because I am a teacher's pet through and through, she snatched the paper towels I got for her and wailed that she was a-

If I had decided to not be kind, I never would've heard that string of fucking words. But I did. And I paid for it dearly. The end.

1. Violence IS The Answer, Sometimes

Thomas, my dearly detested.

Back in sixth grade, I used to have a crush on him because he had the surfer boy look with nicely tanned skin and pale blond hair and the clearest aquamarine eyes I've ever seen. He also liked surfing and swimming. He seemed like the perfect little trophy waifu except for one absolute dealbreaker.

He and his parents were extremely conservative and so, when I told him I liked him, his response was basically "haha no you're a [slur] and would probably eat my dog."

I was horrified and ran away to cry. But then, by the next day, I decided I needed to punish him. Thomas walked in before class started and I was waiting for him with these hands. I kicked him so he doubled over, slammed his face into his chair's seat, and quickly clambered on top of him to SIT ON THE BACK OF HIS HEAD. He started shaking and twitching and trying to pry me off, but eventually he went limp and stopped moving.

I thought he fell asleep, but Mohammed, another classmate who was bullied by Thomas, told me that Thomas might never wake up again (not that he was very sad about this. I didn't know until later, but Thomas said slurs at him too).

While I was sitting on the guy, he'd straight up passed out from the lack of oxygen.

Screaming and crying, I told our homeroom teacher that Thomas suddenly fainted, and she was the type of Caucasian that thought all little Asian kids were sweet and innocent, so it didn't even cross her mind that? It might've been me? Who sat on his head when she walked in?

He was sent home early that day. I had to go to a different school next year because Thomas's mom threatened legal action. The only reason I didn't get punished further was because my rich cousins out-Karen'd her and donated a huge amount of money to the school to keep them quiet.

Anyway, I never did anything that insane ever again, because something like that is enough for a lifetime. My cousins made it clear they would never back me up again. I was sure this whole event would be put behind me, too.

But last fall, during my first day of online learning... who did I see in my zoom meeting... BUT THOMAS! I had my mic and camera off, but the moment he saw my name, his face went pale. His soul would've left his body, but then it would've gone to hell, so it wisely decided to stay inside.

Still, out of shame and embarrassment, I never turned my camera on for the rest of the school year.

I understand why a lot of ppl are upset, they have every right to be, it was wrong for her to post those pics but there’s a chance that she just wasn’t familiar with that specific uniform? a lot people responded with “oh but she definitely knows about hitler !!!!” of course she does! implying anyone could be that ignorant is beyond me but for the love of god not recognizing a uniform =/= not knowing anything about history and ww2, like I’m sure most of you know and understand that but are acting dumb. Korean netizens confirmed that they genuinely didn’t know about it either. so if you actually care about this at all stop spreading misinformation and taking things out of context, this is a serious matter and treating it as if it’s another kpop fanwar is disgusting and just goes to show how little people care about issues like these. Inasa Yoarashi was a Shitposter. From there you begged to see if he had a Tumblr, which he most certainly did. A lot of it was scenic pictures from hikes he went on to train. But the rest of it was pure, classic, Gen Z humor. Memes, vine references, his Tik Tok account which you soon followed. And oh god, his Tik Tok was even BETTER. You decided very quickly that you were glad you let Inasa talk your ear off.

A few days later you were chatting with Tsu, talking about meeting up sometime that weekend with the rest of the girls for a day out. School had been picking up slowly, so a group study sesh with snacks at your favorite cafe seemed like a great idea. You all had finally settled on a date and time.

So it was decided that Inasa, who loved the idea of meeting all your girlfriends and "Seeing what their passion for heroism is!", would join you two at the cafe on a Sunday Morning, when it would be most empty.

The string of bells rung when you opened the door, alerting the owner( Who nobody knew the real name of, and simply asked to be called Clone) that you were there.

"Oh my goodness, Y/N is that you? Oh , you've gotten so big and strong!!!"

"You saw me Wednesday, Clone." You said, shrugging off your bag and setting it at a large table with tall stools. "The girls are coming to hang out, and Momo said she would bring her credit card. Inasa is also coming." You said, hoping she would ignore the last part.

"INASA!!! THE INASA!!!! THE ONE YOU PESTERED ME ABOUT MY LEMON CAKE RECIPE FOR INASA!!!! Oooooooh, he better leave a good impression!!! And a review, my lemon cake is AMAZING." You nodded, laughing. Neither of you heard the door chimes ring again as Uraraka and Tsu walked through the door.

"Hey guys!" You said, walking over to give them a hug. You pointed to the table and they set their stuff down, helping you get enough chairs to seat everyone. Eventually, everyone but Inasa had showed up. You all were sipping on some drinks and munching on snacks, when the door chimes rang again.

"HELLO I BROUGHT CUPCAKES!!!!" A very familiar, very loud voice spoke from behind a large stack of boxes.

"Inasa!" You called, hopping out of your seat and dashing over to help him set down the boxes. Inside were beautifully decorated chocolate cupcakes, with whipped icing and dried fruit sprinkled on top. They looked mouthwatering. The rest of the girls leapt upon the boxes immediately. Inasa looked quite pleased with himself at the sight of you and your friends enjoying the cupcake.

"Awf my gowd, Inafa fees are amafing." You said, grinning up at your tall friend. He just smiled and joined you all.

Put simply, the group loved him. Even Clone! He was boisterous and loud, and maybe even brash, but he was funny and kind. He helped you study, and you helped him study. Overall, the session went exactly as planned.

"Bye guys!!" You shouted, waving at everyone leaving as you ducked back into the cafe to help clean up.

"I think that went well!" Inasa said, saluting you for some reason. You giggled and nodded.

"Very well, I'm afraid they're all going to try and steal you from me." You began moving chairs back in place.

"Awww, don't you worry Y/N, you're my favorite!" Inasa said. And he said it so calmly, like it was a well known fact you already should have known. "You'll always be my favorite!"

The words made you blush, and blush hard. Inasa did have a tendency to say things like that, but you always thought it was just his personality. Clone peaked her head around the corner, eyes wide and eyebrows raised. You made a shooing motion with your hands.

"Aww, Inasa you're so sweet. You're gonna make someone real happy someday!" You set the last chair down.

"Yeah, I hope so." Inasa said. You didn't notice him looking at you .

Clone groaned, smacking her face with her hands. "Oh my god Y/N, he has a crush on you!! God children are so dense! " she made a noise of disgust and disappeared back into the kitchen.

You were a blushing mess, quite positive your skin would catch on fire if you blushed anymore. You risked a glance at Inasa, who's face held no indication of his actual skintone with how red he was. He glanced at you, and made an "eep!" noise of some kind(which, yes, you totally found cute) and turned away. The earthquake-like shaking of your heart let you know that Clone was probably right(she almost always is) and you had to deal with this. Somehow. Your brain was moving at a million miles a minute, so much so that you didn't notice Inasa's hands on your shoulders at first. And then you did. And then you blushed some more.

"Y/N.....May I kiss you?" The question was short and simple. All you had to do was nod. And fuck, you weren't no idiot. You shook your head vigorously up and down, not having any time to react before Inasa just scooped you up into his arms and pressed a deep, fiery, and yes passionate kiss to your lips. He tasted like a cool breeze and chocolate, and you could stay there forever, arms wrapped around his neck as this enormous high schooler held you like a lifeline in his arms.

Then your lungs ruined the moment because the needed air, stupid ass lungs. Fuck you lungs! You ruined it!

You both panted, not quite wanting to meet each others eyes quite yet(because neither of you are good at ANY social interaction, but who is), but you leaned your head onto his.

"So, you're my girlfriend now right?" He asked.

"I...uhh..I guess so."

"....I don't think I'll be able to walk you to classes like I'm supposed to."

lol keep in mind i’m like a lil filipino girl in america. admittedly, i’m pick and sensitive and i didn’t care much about movies growing up but now i have so much enthusiasm and love to give!! it’s just that sometimes some stories just do not resonate or reach out to you. i’ve really only felt seen by movies a handful of times. I know not every movie is going to have a version of “me” in it, but..... i’m also not going to sit and watch stuff i don’t care about.

now about fanfic: >>> not necessarily an ‘exception to the rule’ but, fantasy and fiction are usually fair and fine. a lot of fanfiction (i read/write) is written by women, people of color, of varied sexualities, of different identities, of diverse personalities–– that’s The Distinction. that’s already a drastic change of perspective, consideration, and understanding from mainstream hollywood. i’m literally here rn stomping my foot thinking about a milllion shitty action movie ‘hero-gets-the-girl™’ plotlines that are just absolute shit to me, because it lacks a certain touch. but to each their own~

The camera shifts around as the hand moves to adjust it on its tripod, fixing the device in place. When the image finally clears, stills and focuses, the hand moves back to reveal a man with blonde hair done in a mullet.

“Is it done yet?” A voice pipes up in the background.

The man adjusting the camera steps back to reveal a well lit room with wooden floorboards, the words KQ Entertainment behind him in big, white letters. Seven men hover at the back, all trying to push their way into the centre to see the camera.

“It’s on!” The man with the mullet cheers a little at his success. All eight of them rush to form a line, before he announces the beginning of the VLIVE. “하나, 둘, 셋 (hana, dool, seht)!”

“Eight Makes One Team!” They chorus together and bow, wide grins on their faces. “안��하세요 (annyeonghaseyo)! It’s ATEEZ!”

They burst into a round of scattered applause.

“Hi! It’s Mingi here, main rapper and lead dancer of ATEEZ! I’m going to be the narrator for today!” The tall man waves, holding a script book in hand. His hair is wet, as if he’s just come out of the shower.

“Hi, everyone. It’s ATEEZ’s maknae, Jongho.” The youngest member waves his hand, smiling a little as he watches what’s happening right next to Seonghwa. “I’m going to be the extra who fills in any role needed.”

Hongjoong claps his hands once and everyone falls silent for dramatic effect. Jongho reaches behind the couch to pull someone out from hiding, pushing him right in front of the camera. The tall, lanky man shows itself to be Yunho, trying to crawl back behind the couch.

“And finally, our villain! We present to you, Yunho, AKA Leon Bastiville!”

“You’re already getting hate, Yunho.” San comments as he peers at the comments flooding in from the readers. “Who is this Leon guy anyway?”

“I didn’t want to be a villain! Why did my luck run out on me when I needed it the most?” Yunho wails, attempting to hide from sight. Jongho simply grabs him by the ankle and hauls him back to the front, Yunho’s fingers scrabbling along the floor, before he finally locks his arms around Wooyoung’s leg.

“Sorry, we drew lots for this role.” Seonghwa explains over the noise of Yunho trying to escape from Jongho’s iron grip and Wooyoung attempting to pry Yunho’s hands from his calf as he takes the camera from the tripod, attaching it to the stick. It isn’t working. “Yunho picked the lot for the villain.”

“Alright, I’ll begin reading!” Mingi announces, lifting the script to his face. He starts to read, in the most dramatic tone he can. “Chapter Twenty Two, Gunshot, Original Version. Warnings, whipping, some gore- What? I feel like I shouldn’t be reading this on a VLIVE-”

“It’s a zero budget production, we’ll be fine!” San shouts as he gestures from the sidelines for Mingi to continue. The rapper pauses a little hesitantly, before starting to read once more.

“You freeze. Every muscle in your body goes taut, a cold shiver runs down your spine. The arm around your waist is firm, strong and from the almost unbreakable grip he has on you, he doesn’t intend on letting you go any soon.”

“Wooyoung-ah, Yunho-ah.” San studies the script in his hand intently, before pointing at the taller man, who is still prone on the ground with an arm wrapped around Wooyoung’s leg. “You need to get into position, you know.”

There’s a pause, and the two turn to stare at each other in horror. “What?”

“You heard me.” San waves the script impatiently, pulling a Nerf gun from a small box of props the staff must have given him for this video and tossing it at Yunho, who barely manages to catch the bright yellow toy. “Yunho, stand behind Wooyoung and pretend to choke him.”

Neither of them move, still staring at each other.

“The fans demand it.” Seonghwa’s amused voice can be heard as the camera pans in on Hongjoong’s grin at the sidelines, next to San and Jongho. The maknae is snickering uncontrollably, hand over his mouth.

“You need to do it!” Hongjoong calls. He’s donned the black eye patch already and has the red blanket pulled around his shoulders, the thick fabric so long that it almost completely engulfs him with his head popping out of the very top.

Grudgingly and with no grace at all, Yunho moves behind Wooyoung, grabbing him by the neck and holding the toy gun to his head. The purple haired man makes several gagging sounds and Yunho’s face is one of utter disgust.

“Very good!” San praises as he glances down at the script again. “Now, Yunho, put your mouth at Wooyoungie’s ear.”

“What?” The two of them shout again, Wooyoung struggling to get out of Yunho’s arms while he still can. Yunho’s face is one of nausea as he scrunches up his nose.

“That’s gross, Wooyoung hasn’t showered since dance practice half an hour ago!”

“Do it, do it, do it!” Jongho and Yeosang are chanting in the corner, the maknae not even bothering to hide his laughter now. Yunho slowly puts his face near Wooyoung’s ear and Wooyoung gags.

“I can feel your breath at my ear! It’s weird!”

“It’s weird for me too, damnit!”

“Stop cursing! Now, Yunho, whisper in Wooyoung’s ear ‘I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.’ ”

“I hate this Leon guy, whoever he is!” Yunho yelps as the camera shakes from Seonghwa’s laughter. “Why is he so weird, going around whispering in people’s ears?”

“I don’t know! Someone save me! This main character’s life sucks!” Wooyoung flails around in Yunho’s grip. The tall dancer makes several loud retching noises, but has probably guessed that he won’t be getting out of this anytime soon. He simply closes his eyes for a moment, channeling his inner actor from that video shoot with Dingo, and leans next to Wooyoung’s ear, whispering softly.

“I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”

Wooyoung screeches like a dying cat. “No!”

“Very good!” San praises, clapping as he turns to Mingi. The rapper continues reading.

“Your heart sinks in your chest as the rest of your crew come into sight. Most of them are tied up in groups with rope, their heads hanging low as Navy soldiers kick and push them out of the cargo hold, where they had been hidden from sight. So that was why the ship had been so strangely silent when you and Wooyoung had returned to the Treasure. They had been captured- Holy shit, that was what happened to us in chapter twenty one?”

“I don’t know, I was saving myself, I mean the main character, from getting shot from a musket bullet!” Wooyoung wails, thrashing around. “Get me out of here! I regret ever drawing this lot! Who wants to be the main character when she has such a terrible life?”

“The fans love it!” Seonghwa remarks excitedly, the recording steadying for a moment as he shifts the camera to San, who bows dramatically. Wooyoung shrieks at everyone watching his torment live.

“Yunho, tell Wooyoung ‘Hello, hello, hello, my two dear pirates. Now, we’re finally all here together. I’ve been waiting for this the whole night.’ ”

“That stalker was waiting in wait for us? That’s so creepy.” Jongho comments with a shudder. Yeosang shrugs. He can’t fathom the mind of a lunatic either.

“There’s poison in his voice, sweet as honey and as dangerous as snake venom. You don’t dare to struggle against him for fear of being shot point blank in the head, but his hold on you is making you panic and he’s crushing your windpipe, making every breath an arduous effort.” Mingi reads aloud, and Yunho, getting a little too into character, squeezes Wooyoung’s neck tighter. The shorter dancer yelps, flailing around.

“You’re choking me!”

“Very good, Yunho!” San applauds, completely ignoring Wooyoung’s plight. Yunho grins, nodding at the camera.

“Hey, I’m pretty good at acting!”

“Wooyoung’s fine!” Seonghwa beams, zooming in on Wooyoung’s struggling to free himself.

“You’re killing me!”

“Wow, Wooyoung’s really getting into character. Good job, Wooyoung!” Hongjoong raises a thumbs up with a proud smile on his face.

“I’m not in character-”

“ ‘While the two of you were off causing your little commotion back there at the official’s building,’ the officer drawls, playfully resting his chin on your shoulder as he addresses the crew, ‘one of my men ran back to the harbor to report it to me. My colleague that saw to you yesterday, Yoongi, was already suspicious of you. He smelled gunpowder on your ship, but your little de facto captain told us that you hadn’t been fired on.’ ”

“Are you serious? He smelled us out?” Jongho looks unimpressed by this, scowling. “Who the heck goes around just smelling ships?”

“Bring him out.” Yunho snarls, pressing the toy gun tighter against Wooyoung’s head. His finger must have slipped on the trigger, because there’s a pop sound and Wooyoung yelps, a foam dart falling to the ground.

“That hurt!”

“No, Yunho, he’s not supposed to die yet.” San corrects, shaking his head and completely ignoring Wooyoung. Yunho pouts, breaking character for a moment.

“Sorry.”

“Anyway, Hongjoongie-hyung, it’s your moment to shine!” San announces, turning to his leader. Hongjoong tries to make his way over, but then he steps on the hem of his red blanket and trips, sprawling on the ground in front of the camera. “Oh, that was very good acting, hyung!”

“That wasn’t acting-”

Mingi glances across the script. “Leon clicks his tongue and you see your captain shoved forward, head bowed and hands bound in front of him. Part of you desperately wants to run to the man who named you, to insist he never incline his head to someone he doesn’t respect, but you are completely powerless now. He looks so small- Doesn’t hyung always look small? What’s the difference?”

“Yah, Mingi!” Hongjoong shouts as he attempts to get up, but trips and falls again. Jongho is snorting uncontrollably, hand reaching for a cup of popcorn that definitely wasn’t there earlier and Yeosang’s face is buried in a pillow as his body shakes with laughter.

“Bring me the cat.” Yunho snaps, getting into the mood once more, and San glances around for his extra.

“Jongho, you’re going to be the guy that whips Hongjoong-hyung.”

Jongho couldn’t look happier, jumping to his feet at the words, his eyes shining.

“Really?”

Hongjoong’s eyes widen almost comically in horror and he desperately scrambles back. “He’s going to break my back!”

“We don’t have a whip, but we do have a squeaky hammer!” San grins, pulling out the plastic mallet from the box. He tosses it to Jongho, who catches it and eyes it with a vindictive smile Hongjoong’s honestly quite terrified of.

“Don’t worry, hyung. I promise I’ll be gentle.” Jongho looks more terrifying than that Leon guy could ever be. Striding over, he rips the red blanket from Hongjoong, leaving the poor leader on the ground. He raises the squeaky mallet.

The sight is menacing.

“I’m not doing this!” Hongjoong shrieks, running for his life around the dance studio, Jongho chasing after him. Seonghwa documents the whole thing, spinning round and round in circles before he finally retreats the the floor.

“Sorry everyone, I got too dizzy.” He apologises with a laugh.

“Let me go!” The leader screams as Jongho catches him by the legs, sending both of them sprawling to the ground.

“Tell me who broke my guitar string!”

“Never!”

The maknae raises the hammer and mercilessly thwacks his hyung with it, the rubber hammer going squeak squeak squeak.

“Fine, fine, fine! I broke it while trying to play Havana, okay? God, please just stop hitting me! I surrender!”

There’s a final, hard smack and the hammer goes flying out of Jongho’s hands, hitting Wooyoung straight in the face.

“Ow! I’m not even a part of your scene, Jongho!”

“Hongjoong’s back is a mutilated, bloody mess of raw flesh and shredded skin, crimson streaming from several open wounds. Your captain is on his knees, face pressed against the floor, body trembling.” Mingi baulks a little at the intense description. “You can’t even begin to imagine what absolute agony he must be in, your musket wound was nothing compared to this. But your captain remains silent, teeth gritted against the torment brought on with each swing of the whip. Honestly, you’re so cool in this story, hyung. The last time you got a paper cut you nearly cried and went to Seonghwa-hyung to get a plaster-”

“I didn’t!” Hongjoong groans from the floor, attempting to massage his back. Jongho climbs off him with a triumph grin, settling next to Yeosang.

“Now act like you’re strong and laugh at Yunho, Hongjoong-hyung.” San directs his leader, but the lead rapper simply remains prone on the ground.

“I’m dead, I’m dead…” He moans, lying on the floor like a dead fish. “Just let me die…”

San squirts a bottle of red liquid on his back and Hongjoong screams, leaping off the floor in fright. The back of his shirt looks like a bloody mess. “San, what was that?”

“Ketchup.” The brand is blurred out, but it’s ketchup, alright. “It’s supposed to be your blood.”

“I showered before this…” Hongjoong whines, staring mournfully at his shirt. San ignores him and moves to check his script once more.

“Act evil and tell Hongjoong you’re going to whip Wooyoung too.” He instructs, and Yunho turns to Hongjoong with an evil grin that looks way too into character.

“Let me go!” Wooyoung tries to slip out of Yunho’s arms, but fails spectacularly once again. “I don’t want to get beaten up by Jongho! How is this kind of thing even allowed to be aired-”

“I wonder if your tongue will loosen if I do it to one of your crew, then?”

“I don’t want to die!”

“Now rip Wooyoung’s shirt, Yunho.” San instructs, studying the script. Wooyoung shrieks, doubling his efforts to become Houdini.

“This shirt cost me eighty two thousand won! Don’t do this to meeeee-”

With that, Wooyoung finally breaks free of Yunho’s grip, but the momentum brought on by his little escape sends him stumbling and he trips over Hongjoong’s blanket, before sprawling on top of his leader.

“Ow!”

“Wooyoung, you little-”

“Oh my god Hongjoong’s finally found out Chin Hae is a woman!” Mingi gasps in shock, a hand coming over his mouth. Yeosang gapes in shock.

“Oh no! What’s going to happen? Wooyoung’s going to hate her and they’re never going to be together-”

“Eh, I more of shipped her with captain anyway.” Jongho drawls.

“And he looks so betrayed! Hongjoong, don’t be sad! I promise Chin Hae didn’t want to lie to you-”

“I knew it from the beginning…” Hongjoong groans from under Wooyoung. Mingi ignores him.

“Not you, the cooler Hongjoong in the book.”

“She’s coming back with us. I hope you’re pure for sale, my sweet, but I suppose that may be difficult when you’re on the same ship as so many men- I sound like a pervert, I’m not saying this.” Yunho shakes his head, tossing the script away. It smacks into the camera.

“Ah!” Seonghwa rushes to save it. “Yunho!”

“Hongjoong-hyung, you’re supposed to shout Wooyoung’s name and we get a smoke bomb-”

“But I’m the main character!” Wooyoung protests as he heaves himself off his leader. The front of his shirt is sticky with ketchup, as if he’s the victim of a homicide case.

San pauses to think for a moment. “That’s true. We’ll just move on then. Jongho, smoke bomb please!”

Jongho picks up the cup of popcorn and throws it into the air. It goes absolutely everywhere.

“Great work, Jongho!”

“He flies out of nowhere, lunging for your captor. Leon snarls and tries to kick him away, but then he raises a short knife and buries it in Leon’s arm. The man holding you stumbles back onto the gangplank, falling onto the ground and your saviour takes your hand.” Mingi reads aloud, eyes wide. Then his mouth falls open. “Yeosang, you’re going to-”

“Yeosang the knight in shining armour to the rescue!” Jongho pulls three kazoos from his pockets and blows wildly. The screeching noise almost breaks a few thousand eardrums around the world.

Yeosang stands up, picking his way through the ketchupy, popcorn mess that is the room. He takes Wooyoung’s hand awkwardly.

“Like this?”

“Great! Yunho, pick up the party popper there and shoot Yeosang with it!” San cheers, almost grinning madly. Yeosang’s eyes widen in horror.

“Wait, what-”

Boom!

Yeosang slumps to the ground, groaning. “That hurt…”

“Join the club.” Hongjoong mutters, a few inches next to him and completely spent.

“Wooyoung, go and shake his body and cry.” San whirls around dramatically, tossing his script into the air.

Wooyoung finally decides to try his hand at acting and sinks to his knees next to Yeosang. San shakes another red bottle on the two of them. “NAORIIIII!”

“No, that movie is Goblin, Wooyoung-”

“What is this ketchup? It’s burning my skin!” Wooyoung shrieks and San double checks the bottle, face turning a little pale.

“Oh. It was chilli.”

There’s a moment of silence as Yeosang and Wooyoung both stare at each other. Then they’re bolting for the door in horror, dashing from the dance studio while tripping over their own feet.

San follows, calling after them.

“Need any help, guys?”

“I’m a terrible person. I’m a terrible cruel, cold hearted man who just killed Yeosang with a confetti gun.” Yunho is mumbling to himself. Mingi pats him on the back, pushing him out of the door as well.

“Maybe you should get some rest, hyung. I hear the author has some pretty nasty stuff planned for you after the Sea Witch arc…”

“I’m going to take a shower and see a doctor.” Hongjoong groans, dragging himself after them. The door clicks shut behind him.

The camera turns around to fit Seonghwa’s unruffled face into the frame.

“Well, that was Pirate King, chapter 22, gunshot. Roll credits.” He shows the floor, the scene of a massacre with popcorn scattered everywhere. “I suppose this is just a good opportunity for cleaning up, hmm?”

in december i wrote a 2020 year music review for myself that i intended to post here BUT...because i was infamously restricted twice last year, i didn’t bother since you wouldn’t be able to read it anyway because it was not possible to view my blog hjfdhfd

now that my restricted era is (hopefully forever) over i just want to post it here for the sake of completion since i want to do the same thing this year

this is really long so if you actually read it ... idk you are insane in the membrane and i love you... but i genuinely don’t expect anyone to read this hjfdhjf i just like reflecting on the music i have listened to and be able to look back on what i enjoyed in certain stages of my life! okiiii bye 💗

mac miller - circles (album) it’s a bit funny that i worried putting my thoughts down about this album and now it turns out to be first on the list, chronologically of course … oh bittersweet irony </3 listening to this album is such a double edged sword, either way i am always hit with a truckload of feelings when i turn to this release.

this album came to me in a time of my life where i was slowly but surely sliding down towards rock bottom again just after i got out of it and thought i was okay. the times i’ve listened to this crying in the bathtub with a glass of wine….girl let’s not lol…. it’s almost strange how much i can relate to the thoughts another person brought to paper. the comfort this album brings me is otherworldly, i feel so understood by mac’s words and it’s my go-to “wallow in self-pity for a bit then come out stronger than before” album. then again, i feel a little sting when any of mac’s songs come on shuffle. a friend of mine said she cannot listen to artists who have passed because it feels too strange and most of the time i agree but this time, it’s so so different. this album would have been mac’s salvation, i can feel it. everything would have been a bit brighter and lighter for him after this, it would have had to be. i feel like i would do him a disservice if i did not listen to this album, so i will cherish this final gift from him as his legacy and my comfort. i miss him incredibly and am all the more thankful he shared his heart with us.

tiny meat gang - broke bitch (single) MAN I TELL THAT BROKE BITCH IF YOU WANNA GET IN TUNE BETTER CHANGE YOUR WHOLE PITCH LIKE WOAH !!!!!!!!!! did that give you whiplash? hehe funny to say this about a song called broke bitch by a duo called tiny meat gang but this song actually means a lot to me! it came out shortly before their show in berlin and i almost exclusively listened to it on my 7+ hours train ride from one side of the country to the other to see my meat boys. this played out of the fat ass speakers at the venue when they stepped on the stage and i will never forget meeting them :’) also the song fucking slaps obviously

loona - [#] (mini album) ah yes, the most controversial loona release to date! i’m not gonna lie and say this sounded anything like i expected it to. but also, i have come to terms with the fact that loona release noise music now and personally i am here for it. why not did not have the endless energy of hi high or otherworldly vibe of butterfly, but it’s a hype song and i am always there for hype. i also have to say the b-sides were not as strong for me as on previous releases but i think i have to come to peace with the fact that loona will never top their debut mini for me. though if i can wish for one thing…… let loona have title tracks with a chorus in 2021? pls? crumbs?

tame impala - the slow rush (album) *lights cigarette* i’m listening to pretty underground music….i don’t think you’ve heard of this band….they are called tame impala *intro of the less i know the better starts playing* yes i am a basic white bitch and listen to like 3 alternative bands but damn i listen to them religiously. like any other basic bitch on this planet i found out about tame impala through the less i know the better and checked out their music. i wasn’t too much into this album as i was into currents but towards the end of the year, i was in a moody alternative music slump that took me back to this album and i like it a lot more now! most importantly, tame impala fulfills my primitive urge to listen to songs that exceed the 4 minute mark. something clicks in my brain when i see a song that is like 6:34 and chances that it ends up as one of my faves on a album are high. i enjoy tiktok like everyone else but this trend of 2:50 long songs needs to be stopped immediately.

nct 127 - neo zone (album) ah, yes. the album that fundamentally changed me as a person <3 i’ve been listening to nct for a while, matter of fact i checked my top tracks 2019 playlist on spotify and cherry bomb was on there lol. i remember trying to get into them in 2018 when they released their regular-irregular album but the endless member & unit concept scared me off, so i only listened to a handful of songs without looking into them march 2020, the fateful month in which they released kick it and screencaps of jaehyun’s sexy ass tiddies in the kick it mv landed on my tumblr or twitter and i HAD to look up who this man is…...remember when i thought jaehyun was my ult for like, 2 weeks? me neither, johnny suh only in this house <3

anyway, i checked out this album and by god, is this pure kpop perfection. last time i listened to a god tier no skip album like this was … maybe the perfect red velvet? hype songs, well crafted ballads, love songs that make me wanna learn the lyrics, genuinely fun and interesting pop songs, this album has it all. somehow, the way this album is crafted greatly reminds me of brown eyed girls’ sound-g, it has the same vibe, concept and mix of genres to me, i’m not entirely sure how to explain. anyway, this album is one of my favorites of all time and even though i’ve obsessively listened to it (lastfm says 1.4k scrobbles as of today, december 7th…) i am still not tired of this. i recommend this to anyone who loves kpop tbh, you will have a good time with this!

other than being just a musically solid album, the emotional ties i have with this are …. isabel stop making albums your emotional support 2021 challenge. i’ve listened to this release all spring lockdown, this basically played at every waking hour for all of march and april. the promotion time of this era and lockdown are deeply intertwined for me and so i am always remembered of all the nct content i consumed during that time which inevitably cheered me up so much. this album really means a lot to me :’)

the weeknd - after hours (album) my dear melchanoly, was one of my favorite releases of 2018, so i had been desperate for a new release by abel and boy did he not disappoint. the perfect thotty, dirty emo 80s, making it clap while crying in the club album! this is a no skip from top to bottom and all i can say is that the grammys can go to hell <3 abel aoty! there is really not much i can say about this album, the flawless production, lyrics and sound speak for themself. my only criticism is that i feel overwhelmed by 14 songs, especially when some of them are really long. a few songs greatly overshadow the weaker tracks on the album for me but i still love this to death.

dua lipa - future nostalgia (album) after the weeknd’s masterpiece of an 80s inspired pop album i was really looking forward to this. i greatly enjoyed the pre-releases, i played don’t start now and physical up and down, they are still some of my favorite songs released this year! when i first listened to the album i really liked it, songs like boys will be boys or pretty please sound like fillers to be but the rest is solid. yet a month after release you couldn’t catch me listening to this and i cannot even really tell you why. i think it was a combination of the following: 1) i greatly overplayed dsn and physical to the point where i didn’t want more of the pop 80s sound that the album has 2) there were other releases at the time that caught my attention and interest more like neo zone or after hours 3) dua herself….girl….she really gave it her all this year to make herself as unlikeable as possible. nationalist propaganda and the constant traveling during a fucking pandemic were really the kicker. i can barely stand seeing her on my instagram feed anymore, much less listen to her album. her having the nerve to go “we’re in a pandemic lol” when people asked about an animated music video …. if you don’t shut the hell up lmao … also, she takes the crown for the corniest album opener of all time. i nearly closed spotify when i heard future nostalgia (the song) lmao

listen, i’m not gonna sit here and pretend like this mini album interested me in the slightest but god, the title is such a banger.i’m so sick, eung eung and dumhdurum are a holy trilogy that i will defend until the end of time! i really hope apink stick to this mature, elegant concept, it suits them so well and goes well with their new sound. come back soon queens <3

rina sawayama - xs (song) i feel like i’m gonna catch some hands here … xs is an absolute banger, the guitar riffs and disruptive sounds really get me going every damn time! but the rest of the album … tell me why it doesn’t catch me?! i literally cannot explain. i need to take an hour, sit down and do nothing but listen to the album from top to bottom once again and see if my thoughts change but right now i only care about xs.

chungha - stay tonight (song) drama! vocals! dance break! choreography! this release served it all. i listened to this obsessively during the time of the release and it still holds up today. can we talk about the run chungha had with gotta go > snapping > stay tonight? lord have mercy.

lady gaga - chromatica (album) the immense disappointment i have in this album is tough to put into words lol. any other artist might have gotten away with this release but gaga having the discography that she has, well … she doesn’t get away with it. this has underwhelming all over it. i enjoyed the pre-releases and my hope was high but the rest just doesn’t live up what i expected, i can’t even say why. it’s just underwhelming pop for someone of gaga’s calibre. i listened to this album during release week and then never again till december to write this list and i can see why.

baekhyun - delight (mini album) it’s confession time … this is a name i never would have expected on any of my music lists to end up. exo has always been one of those boy groups i casually listened to. i greatly enjoy their title tracks and a handful of side tracks, i have a few members that i keep an eye on more than others but that’s about it. baekhyun was never one of those members i had any interest in, matter of fact i always thought he was kinda vanilla and boring 😭 i didn’t even plan on listening to this release if it wasn’t for his association with superm and thus nct, so i gave it a shot and we have no choice but to stan. his voice is like butter and can cut sharp at the same time, his versatility is insane. i dived a bit more into baekhyun related content and he is so likeable, it’s almost ridiculous. this production is absolute god tier, not a single skip on this mini. late spring/early summer i had this weird urge to listen to songs with mellow voices but still a banger instrumental and i wholeheartedly blame this release. matter of fact, this album is so good, i had to buy a physical copy. Y’ALL. THIS IS A BIG DEAL. i haven’t bought a kpop album of anyone that’s not holy top 3 (brown eyed girls, loona, nct) in like … idk, 5 years?! baekhyun’s impact. i’m a fan now <3

nct 127 - neo zone: the final round (repackage) *airhorns* REEEPACKAGE TIIIIIME!!! my first nct era that i experienced from start to finish! i remember watching nct 127’s beyond live with luna where these mfs performed punch and we finished the concert having no idea what this song sounded like. the structure is so unusual and the intro catches me off-guard every time just to hype me up beyond compare. not gonna lie, the fact that johnny has exactly one (1) line hurts but! it’s my favorite line of the entire song! possibly related to the fact that it’s his line but let’s ignore that ….

stray kids - go live (album) 2020 was kind of the year of boy groups for me, i’m so sorry … stray kids promoted simultaneously with nct 127 so i ended up hearing their title track and holy hell, is that a song. god’s menu is hype from start to finish. it reminds me of good ol’ 2nd gen noise boy group song a lá b*g b*ng fantastic baby. just pure hype and fun noise. i am forever grateful to witness the birth of the line cooking like a chef, i’m a five star michelin. the title track impressed me so much that i ended up checking out the entire album which i rarely ever do with boy groups and what is even rarer is that i enjoyed the b sides lmao!!! it’s not an album that i would put on and just enjoy from start to finish but it has some really solid tracks! this release made me want to keep an eye on stray kids, they seem like a really fun bunch.

seventeen - left & right (song) the boy group run continues … same thing with stray kids, seventeen promoted during punch era so i heard their song while watching some music station show for nct and i heard this and was sold. solid, fun pop with the catchiest pre-chorus in history and a banger chorus. i listened to the entire mini and can’t say it really caught my interest so this is a title track only release for me.

irene & seulgi - monster (mini) this is a weird release because it’s good. the title track is fun enough, the b sides are dope. but my issue with this is that it’s nothing new. this sounds exactly like a red velvet release. i get that they didn’t want to a  joy, seulgi, irene, yeri release only and went for the sub-unit route instead, but why not be experimental and stray away from the usual sound of the group? also, whoever made monster and not naughty the title track deserves to be spat on. at least the choreography here is more interesting and “experimental” for kpop standards. also, why only a seulgi solo and no irene? i have no idea how reveluvs reacted to this release but this has rushed written all over it.

blackpink - the album (album, duh) i don’t even know what to say about this … this might be the weirdest release on the list for me. there are song i absolutely fucking hate (ice cream …) and songs i get my life to (pretty savage) on here and the discrepancy just gives me massive whiplash. i would never put this album on and listen to the whole body of work, i just cannot with the brain damage it gives me. i am still stuck in 2016, begging for bp to release music like whistle/boombayah/stay/playing with fire but i think i need to give up on that wishful thinking … i am just grateful we a got a title track with actual lyrics in the chrous for once.

nct - nct 2020 resonance pt. 1 (album) this era was … a ride. nct 2020 happening was near inevitable but with covid it got pushed back so far, i started to believe it wasn’t even going to happen. i was semi-terrified of what was going to happen during a comeback with 21 (now 23!!) member group since i only experienced nct 127 comebacks so far and uhh … a LOT happened lmfao but let’s keep this about the album … i had no idea what was going to hit me. johnny having effectively 3 lines in nct 2018 did not give me much hope and after he got denoted to no line treatment in punch again, i was ready to not even have any expectation but this release changed everything. make no mistake that most of my favorite songs are units with johnny, we knew that was gonna happen lmaooo they dropped the teaser video for misfit and i thought i had my favorite song in the bag and then faded in my last song happened. y’all. JOHNNY SINGS? LIKE? ACTUALLY SINGS? DOESN’T GET FORCED TO RAP OR TALK-SING? MY MAN’S VOCALS??? OH MY GAAAAHD! this song is dramatic, theatrical, emo, it serves vocals and rap, it has catchy english and korean lyrics, this is THE song, the ULTIMATE song. i love this song so much, i want to belt it on top of my lungs in the pouring rain. apart from fimls, i also loveeee misfit, that was to be expected after i was going completely insane over the track video. johnny has like 3 lines but again they are iconic (WARNIN’! NCT WE MOBBIN’!) and i just enjoy the track too much to be upset over that. nectar. holy fuck. nectar!!!! wayv never disappoints with their thotty songs, they now have an absolute god tier hoe-ly song trinity with love talk > bad alive > nectar. the first chorus and hendery’s first verse (CHOP CHOP CHOP!) get me every time, this song is so insanely good i am severely upset i cannot sing along to it :( music, dance has nct 127 written all over it in bold letters, it’s so inherently 127’s sound!!!! i love this song so much, it’s so fun, upset and has massive dance-ability, i wish we had gotten a stage for it but i guess you can’t have everything in life </3 make a wish……………………………..the cursed unit. i don’t want to say anything about this except that, unfortunately, the song is fun and i enjoy it. the end. overall, this album is so insanely solid. i know i talk about my favorites A LOT but i genuinely do not dislike a single song on here, this is an absolute no skip album! that’s it. see you for resonance part 2!!!!!

loona - 12:00 (mini album) controversial loona release 2.0! i don’t know what it is, but somehow they managed to lace the words di da dam di dam di dam dam dam dam di dam (yeah) with pure crack. i fucking love why not, i would even go as far to say it’s my 2nd favorite title track. that is right, i think it’s better than butterfly (btw: hi high > why not > butterfly > so what). so much was strange this comeback, from the inexplicable concept + teasers, the outfits, the styling (yves….i mourn your hot girl era) but the title track is just SO good, SO fun, SO catchy that i am willing to ignore it all. i also enjoy the b sides much more than on #, they are much more memorable to me. and now … HASEUL RETURN…………….i purely live to see the next loona comeback at this point

ariana grande - positions (album) the way this album has people upset is so funny. i am a huge dangerous woman fan myself, it’s my fave ariana album to date but she has said repeatedly that this is not the sound she is striving for. now she has her coin and can do whatever she wants in music and if that is r’n’b then fuck! we have to live with it! lmao! i can live with the sex theme of the album because it’s delivered in a fun way? but it’s getting a bit old...if the next album is about riding dick only too idk how much i would enjoy that. i would probably always come back to ari because i like her voice so much but girl, there are other topics to sing about, i promise! anyway! i like this album, it’s one of those where i can hit shuffle and enjoy it in the background while doing other stuff.

noel - push (ep) this is something i absolutely did not expect. noel (of tiny meat gang!) released his first ep ever and i was absolutely wowed. noel has it all, the voice, the talent, the creativity and all it took him was the confidence to finally put something out and i’m so happy he did. he gets real personal on bus back, more than ever before and i always get a bit emo listening to this track </3 this man is gonna go places and i’m so happy to witness his journey.

nct - nct 2020 resonance pt. 2 (album) part two, baby! we made it! part 2 had more mellow, ballad-y songs with my everything, i.o.u. and all about you, overall less drama than part 1 but i still enjoyed it. work it is one of those controversial songs where you despise it with your entire being or you defend this top tier noise till the end and i am absolutely the latter. the agony of not being able to listen to it and seeing the timeline so divided nearly killed me, but i have concluded that people who hate work it have never felt joy in their life <3 honestly my opinion cannot be counted because i eat up anything johnny participates in … biased ass… what i’m not gonna talk about is resonance (the song), this absolute mess of a “remix”. the audacity sm had to release this as a single is insane. anyway!! this era was a rollercoaster ride. all the interactions truly made me interested in members of other units more. hendery (the rise and fall …), yangyang my beautiful son, jeno aka blue hair guy, chenle the chaos kid and xiaojun after he made make a wish his bitch in particular! all the interactions between the units were so fun to witness and it was fun while it lasted but i am … so glad it’s over lol. i miss nct 127, i miss some peace, i hope the boys get to rest for a bit and so does my bank account.

miley cyrus - plastic hearts (album) not in a thousand years would i have expected a miley release to be on here. this girl does everything to be absolutely unlikeable in my eyes but after severely banging out to her heart of glass cover, i was really excited for this and it did not disappoint. what is disappointing is that it took her so long to find a sound that fits her like a glove. i believe many people miss out on this release after her previous history and i nearly would have done the same. this alt/rock influenced pop does her voice so many favors and i really hope she sticks to this direction, i love this album greatly!!

I’ve always been here! Just not in kpop tumblr. I’ve since deleted my old accounts and shame  but i came back to write. It’s always been so stress-relieving to me, to write without any expectations on my back because I’m thinking about grades or a competition. Also Soobin simping is a daily thing and I gotta release it somewhere man

are you happy with where you are in life right now? why or why not?

Yes. I may not be the richest or the prettiest, or smartest or whatever, but I have a good family that loves me. I have good friends that support me and I have TXT and BTS to help me cope when things get overwhelming. I have a job that gives me a little bit of income (it’s not too common for college students here to get jobs like in the US, most of them just focus on acads) and all the means to continue my education amidst the pandemic. So really, I’m grateful for where I am now.

It had been exactly 2 years, 5 months, and 23 days since Namjoon last spoke with you. Believe me, he knows, he’s been keeping track. Letting you walk out of his life was the stupidest thing he had ever done. He tried to reach out to you, but you had changed your number and blocked him on all your social media. One day when he was on twitter he saw your name trending worldwide. He immediately clicked on it and saw countless people praising you on your debut. So many people absolutely loved you and as his curiosity got the best of him he watched your debut video which had already amassed millions of views in just a day. He was absolutely blown away by your talent. The guilt slowly started eating away at him more and more. Namjoon knew you still talked to Yoongi sometimes so he asked to borrow his phone so he could speak with you. The phone rang a few times before you finally answered. 

The breath was nearly knocked out of Namjoon as he heard your voice for the first time in over 2 years. “Y/n?” The line was silent and he thought you hung up on him for a moment. “Namjoon? Is that you?” “It is. I saw your video. And I just wanted to reach out to you. You did really well y/n it seems that everyone loves you.” “Yeah Namjoon. All that hard work paid off. I told you I knew what I was doing didn’t I?” “You did. I’m sorry I didn’t listen to you. I was hoping we could meet up and talk?” At that you scoffed into the phone. “Namjoon. We haven’t spoken in over 2 years and now that I am finally achieving my dream that mind you, YOU wanted nothing do with. Now suddenly you want to talk? Where was that courtesy when I wanted to talk to you about this before?” “Y/n please just meet with me and let me explain.” Your voice softened. “Namjoon. Listen. I accept your apology okay? I know why you said what you did you were just trying to protect me. But you really hurt me. And I just don’t think I am ready to put myself into a position to be hurt by you again. Like you said. I just debuted. I have a lot going on right now and I just don’t have time to focus on fixing what was broke between us so long ago. I’m sorry.” “It’s okay. I understand. After you walked out that door Jin immediately regretted the things he had said to you. But he was still mad so he made no effort to contact you. As days turned into weeks, weeks turned to months, months to years he really missed you. Over the last few weeks in particular he found himself thinking about you everyday. He knew you had made it big in the industry. Your debut had been a huge success and you were already on your first world tour. He was so proud of you and he felt like the biggest jerk on the planet for yelling at you the way he did. He texted you one day out of the blue, hoping you still had the same number. Hey y/n. It’s Jin. I know it’s been a really long time since we last spoke and I just wanted to apologize for everything. I was hoping if you don’t hate me too much maybe we could go out for coffee and talk? A few hours went by and Jin had finally given up on any response back from you. When his phone chimed he immediately checked and saw there was a message from you. Jin I am on my tour now, but I would actually really like to talk to you. Can we video chat or something? Jin felt more hope than he had in a while when you responded. You two set up a time to talk later that night. 

When Jin saw you he felt like the breath he had been holding since you left that day has finally released. “Wow. Y/n you look amazing.” You smiled at him. “Thanks Jin. So do you.” “Y/n I am so so sorry for how I acted towards you. I wanted to apologize I really did but I was convinced that you hated me. When you didn’t try to reach out to me either I really realized you must think I am the scum of the earth.” He had started to tear up and you wanted so badly to reach out and comfort him. “It’s okay Jin. I know why you said those horrible things you did. You wanted to protect me, keep me safe. I forgave you a long time ago.” “Really? How.. Why would you forgive me after all those horrible things I said to you? God I kicked you out of my apartment and told you to get out.” Your expression turned pained as you remembered that day. “Like I said Jin. I know you were just trying to look out for me. Good intentions, horrible delivery though.” He couldn’t help but laugh. “I missed your laugh.” “I missed you.” “Jin, when I get back from tour can we go have coffee together like you asked me earlier?” “I would love to take you out. Let me know when you get back yeah? And be safe on tour! I still worry about you you know? Make sure you get enough sleep, and eat enough, and-“ “Yes mom. I have to go now okay? I will see you as soon as I can.” Jin smiled softly at you. “Okay. See you soon y/n.” “See you soon, Jin”.

Yoongi

The second the door slammed behind you, and you heard Yoongi let out a broken sob your heart shattered into a million pieces. You almost immediately turned back and went inside until you remembered the things he had said to you. You ran out of the building with tears streaming down your face and a newfound determination to prove Yoongi wrong. You trained hard, and got signed to a company. You quickly became well known and famous all over the world. You were a rookie but everyone loved you. It was when you were attending your first award show that you saw Yoongi again. He was there with the other members. It had been 3 years since you last spoke to him and all it took was one look from him to bring all of your feelings rushing back. He immediately began to walk towards you but the other members pulled him away. You felt tears pricking the corner of your eyes but you refused to let them fall. Not here, not in front of all these people. When it was announced you won Rookie of the Year you had to walk right past the other members to get up on stage. You couldn’t help but look at him again as you walked up to make your speech and accept your award. When you were making your way back to down Yoongi discreetly placed a folded piece of paper in your hand. It had an address and he asked you to meet him there after the show. 

When you began heading towards the address you could see Yoongi in the distance. Your heart started racing as you nervously approached him. He had his back turned towards you. You lightly tapped his shoulder. “Yoongi?” He spun around and instantly yanked you into his arms. He buried his face in your neck and held onto you so tightly as if he was afraid you would disappear in front of his eyes. “y-y/n I-I’m” He was crying so hard he could barely speak and it broke your heart. “Shh Yoongi it’s okay.” You lightly ran your fingers through his hair. He pulled away and began rubbing his eyes furiously trying to stop the tears from flowing. “No. No it’s not okay. I should never have said such horrible things to you. God I don’t know what was wrong with me. I just wanted to keep you safe and happy and I did the exact opposite. I’m so so sorry y/n.” “Yoongi. It’s okay. But honestly I should be thanking you. If it weren’t for your words I don’t think I would have been as determined as I was to make it big to prove you wrong.” He gave you a sad smile as he took in the sight of you. “You really did well. I’m proud of you. I should have been there for you and supported you. I’m-“ “Yoongi I swear to God if you say I’m sorry one more time I am going to smack you.” That time he smiled at you genuinely. “You look good ya know?” “Thanks Yoongi. You do too.” You reached down and took his hand in yours. “I missed you so much Yoongi. These past few years have been absolute hell and you were the only person I wanted by my side.” His face fell at your words. He knew how hard it was during the training periods and he felt awful. “I won’t apologize since I really don’t want to get smacked. But will you give me a chance to make things right? Make up for lost time? Do you think we can go back to how we were before?” “I think we can Yoongi. It’s going to take some time. But if you’re willing to put in the effort then I am to.” He pulled you back into his arms, keeping a tight grip around your waist. “I swear I won’t mess up again. I can’t lose you again.” “Good. Because I don’t think I could lose you either. You’re stuck with me now.” He pulled away but didn’t let go of your hand as the gummy smile you missed so much spread across his face. He lightly kissed your forehead. “I wouldn’t have it any other way angel.”

Hoseok

All Hoseok had read about on social media lately was about you. Everyone was talking about the rookie soloist who was taking the kpop world by storm. Everyone was complimenting your singing, dancing, and beauty. Even though it had been years since he last spoke to you his feelings had never changed. Before he left he was starting to fall in love with you. It absolutely broke him to to leave you. One day when he saw you performing on TV for one of your comebacks he had enough. He needed to find a way to meet with you. He knew that you were still really good friends with Jungkook so he begged him to find a way for you two to talk. Jungkook set up a day and time for you to hang out with him, however little did you know it was actually Hoseok that was going to be meeting you. When you walked through the apartment doors and saw Hoseok sitting on the couch you almost ran back out. But seeing the broken expression he gave you, you knew you couldn’t leave him. 

“Hey y/n.” “Uh.. Hi Hoseok. Is Jungkook here? I was supposed to meet him.” “He’s not here. I asked him to set this up so we could talk. Please?” You sat down on the couch next to him, wringing your hands in the lap trying to calm yourself down. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have pushed you away and refused to support your dream of becoming an idol. It was my dream too, and if my best friend reacted the way I did I would have been so hurt. I can only imagine what you’ve been through and I wasn’t there to help you through it.” “You really hurt me Hoseok. I thought because you were an idol yourself you were the one person I could trust to support me and help me through the hard times. But you didn’t, and I had no one. I guess in the end it made me a stronger person but.. It sucked.” “I know and I am so so sorry. I can’t even begin to say that enough times.” He saw you fidgeting with your hands so he grabbed both of them in his own and placed them in his lap. “There is not a day that went by that I didn’t think about you and wonder how you were doing.” “Then why didn’t you say anything?! You could have texted me, sent me a message on social media, called me, shit even sent a letter but you didn’t do anything!” “Because I wasn’t so selfish that I was going to beg you to give up your dream for me.” “Then you could have just supported me like a good friend would have done.” “Y/n please. Just tell me what I need to do to fix this.” “Hobi.. I really liked you too you know? I know you want to fix things but you can’t. It’s like you said before, it doesn’t mean anything. It says right in my contract that I can’t date. Even socializing with male idols is really looked down upon. We just can’t right now I’m sorry.” “Someday then? I don’t care how long it takes I’ll wait.” “Hobi.. No. I don’t want you wasting your life having hope for something that may never come to be. Move on with your life. Forget about me. You’ll be happier for it someday trust me.” “Wait no y/n please.” He was almost begging you at this point and it took every ounce of your strength not to burst into tears. “I can’t Hoseok. Please. Just.. move on. And if you can’t move on and be happy with someone else, if you genuinely can’t, then I guess when my contract is up in a few more years we’ll see okay?” You got up from the couch and kissed his knuckles. “Try to be happy, for me please?” He smiled at you through the tears that were in his eyes. “I’ll try. I promise.” “Bye Hobi.” “Goodbye sweetheart.”

Jimin

Jimin had an internal battle with himself out in the hallway for about 5 minutes before he actually left your place. He wanted to go back in and comfort you so badly when he heard you sobbing in your apartment alone. He felt terrible. But he was still incredibly angry with you and he can hold a grudge like nobody’s business. He refused to be the first one to talk to try to make amends, but when weeks went by he couldn't take it anymore. He tried to reach out to you because he missed you, only to find out that your number had been changed. He even went to your apartment and was surprised to see an older lady open the door. “Uh does y/n still live here?” “Oh no sweetheart they moved out a month ago. Something about being signed to a company and staying at the dorms from now on.” “Ma’am do you know which company they signed with?” “I’m sorry I don’t. Sweet thing though comes by every so often to help me out around the house. Do you want me to tell them you stopped by Mr..” “No that’s okay thank you though.” So you had done it after all huh? He was proud of you for sticking to your dreams but he would be lying if he said he was happy. He just wanted you back but now it was too late. 

It was a few years later when he saw your debut stage on TV. He was absolutely blown away. You did amazing and seeing you so happy up on stage made him happy, but also made him realize what an absolutely jerk he had been to you. You hadn’t blocked him on your social media surprisingly so he sent you a message. I’m really proud of you y/n. I was hoping we could meet up and talk? I want to apologize for the way I acted towards you. You sent him a message back a few minutes later. It’s been years Jimin and you really hurt me. I forgave you a long time ago but I think it would be best if we didn’t meet. I have nothing to say to you and by now if you had anything to say to me you should have said it. I hope you’re doing well and are looking out for yourself. Bye Jimin. Please don’t message me again. He was expecting your response to not be very welcoming but not still so angry. He decided against messaging you back, knowing that in a few weeks you two would be at the same award show together and he would have the time to talk to you then. 

Jimin spent the whole night looking for you when you two happened to run into each other back stage after the show. “Y/n! I have been looking for you everywhere. Please can we talk? Just let me apologize at least and explain myself.” “Jimin there is nothing to explain. I already know what excuse you’re going to give me, ‘I was just trying to protect you, I just wanted to keep you safe’. I don’t need to hear it. Like I said I forgave you and made peace with what happened a long time ago. Please let me go now.” “Seriously? You’re that busy that you can’t even spare me 5 minutes of your precious time?” “Where were you 4 years ago Jimin?! Where were you when you left the apartment and I spent a week straight locked in my room crying because the boy I was in love with had completely shattered my heart with his hurtful words?” “Y-y/n I-“ “Save it Jimin. I don’t want to hear it. You had plenty of opportunities to apologize and make up with me and you didn’t. I don’t need to get my heart broken by you a second time now please. Let me go.” He moved away from you and as you were walking away he gently grabbed your wrist, “I loved you too, you know?” “Jimin don’t. Just don’t.” He let go of you and let you walk out of his life again, silently cursing himself for not having the courage to try and stop you, for not trying to make things right all those years ago. For not putting in more of an effort to find you, and most of all for not telling you how he felt about you until it was far too late.

Taehyung

If Kim Taehyung thought he was going to walk away from you he was sorely mistaken. You were not about to let the man you love walk out of your life, even if it meant giving up on your dream you would because there was no way in hell you were losing him. After he pried your arms off of him and he started to walk away you immediately put them back in place. “Let go y/n.” “No Tae. I am not letting you go until we figure something out or fix this. If being an idol means losing you then I am not going to become an idol.” “Don’t be ridiculous you just said it was your dream? I already told you I am not that selfish that I am going to ask you to give up your dream for me.” “And what if the situation were reversed?” “What?” “What if Big Hit suddenly decides when you renew your contracts that they want to put a no dating clause in there then what? Would you just give up on us so easily?” “Of course not!” “And why wouldn’t you Tae?” He was silent while tears began to slide down his cheek. “Taetae? Please look at me.” He turned around and the sight of him crying made your chest feel like someone was pounding a hammer into it. You put one hand on either side of his face as you wiped his tears away. “Why wouldn’t you?” “B-because I…” Another sob left his mouth. He took a deep breath to collect himself. “Because I love you. Because I would tell our manager to go to hell if he ever thought of trying to keep us away from each other. Because even if I decided to renew the contract with that in there I would still find a way to continue seeing you in secret. Because I love you too much to let you go out of my life so easily.” You pressed your lips softly to his own. “And that is exactly why I will refuse to sign with ANY company who tries to tell me I can’t be with you. We’re a packaged deal. They don’t get me if I don’t get to keep you. Okay?” He had finally stopped crying as he nodded at you. “Okay.” “We’ll make it work Tae I promise. I am not going to abandon you.” “ Pinky Promise?” You wrapped your pinky around his own. “Promise.”

               A few years later and Taehyung was watching you perform up on stage in front of an arena full of people chanting your name. It wasn’t easy, but with Taehyung’s status in the industry and your undeniable talent you finally found a company that was willing to sign you while you were dating Taehyung. When you were saying your goodbyes to your fans you had one last thing to say before you walked off stage. “Thank you all so much. If it wasn’t for you guys I would not be standing up here right now. I cannot ever thank you enough for your love and support.” The crowd went wild with cheers. “And finally I’d like to thank someone very special to me. You all know him by now I’m sure.” You jumped down off stage and walked over to where Taehyung was sitting. “Thank you Tae. For not giving up on us, for sticking by my side through everything. And for being my number one supporter. I can’t imagine my life without you.” A chorus of awe’s sprang up from the crowd and Taehyung pulled you into his arms and hugged you tightly. “I love you y/n.” “I love you too Tae.”

Jungkook

It had been years since you last spoke to Jungkook. You would be lying if you said that you didn’t miss him, but you knew everything that happened was for the best. You both had ended things mutually, but you couldn’t forget the look in his eyes when you walked away from him. You hoped he was doing well, and hoped that he was proud of you for succeeding in your dreams even if he didn’t approve of them. Jungkook had always been very protective of you so you knew his heart was in the right place when he tried to stop you from becoming an idol. Your debut had been one of the most successful in the industry. You amassed a large fan base seemingly overnight and were receiving countless positive messages on a daily basis. You were so incredibly happy, but you couldn’t help but feel like something was missing. You couldn’t dwell on that thought now, you had a comeback stage to attend after all.

Jungkook was sat at home, channel surfing when he saw you performing on the TV. Still as beautiful as ever. He though to himself. He felt an aching in his chest as he did every time he thought of you. He deeply regretted letting you go, and there wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t miss you. Seeing you up on stage finally pushed him over the edge. He needed to see you. He sent a message  in hopes that you would respond after the show. I miss you. I’m really proud of you y/n. You owned that stage tonight. After your performance you checked your phone and nearly shouted when you saw a message from Jungkook. You debated what you should say to him, you missed him so badly and suddenly you were filled with an overwhelming urge to see him. Rather than respond back you decided to go to his apartment.

Jungkook was sitting on the couch nervously shaking his leg has he waited for a response from you when he heard a knock at this door. He wasn’t expecting company so he looked to the security feed.  No way. He ran to the door and threw it open, standing there in shock. “Hey Kookie. I missed you too ya know? What took you so long?” You pulled him into your embrace and felt him shaking as you held onto him. “I’m so so sorry y/n I-“ You cut him off with a gentle shush as you rubbed your hands soothingly on his back. “Don’t apologize I think that time has come and passed.” He started shaking harder as he thought you were going to leave him again. “I didn’t mean it like that Kook! I’m not leaving you so calm down alright? I wouldn’t have came back here if I was planning on walking out again. Breathe with me. In…good now out… You’re doing great baby. What I meant was that I had forgiven you a while ago. You don’t need to say you’re sorry.” When he had finally calmed down he pulled away from you and lead you to sit down on the couch. He refused to let go of your hand though as he was terrified you would leave if he did. “You called me baby.” “What?” He smiled at you. “You called me baby.” “Did you like when I called you that?” “I did. Makes me feel like things haven’t changed between us.” “Jungkook. Walking away from you was the hardest thing I ever did, but I did what I had to. We both did. I think in those few years we were away we’ve both done a lot of growing up wouldn’t you say so?” He nodded his head. “I want to give us another shot Jungkook. Since we parted ways I have been happy, but I felt like there was this hole in my chest that needed to be filled. You made it feel full today. I don’t ever want to go back to that empty feeling again.” He pulled you into a hug and kissed the top of your head. “I don’t want that either.” “We’ll take it slow then? Figure out what we both want and go from there?” “I already know what I want. I want you. I’ve always only every wanted you. I was just too stupid to figure it out until you were walking away from me.” “And I want to be with you too Jungkook but I think we should take things slow. We’re probably completely different people from when we last spoke. We just need to figure out where we fit into each other’s lives now okay?” “Okay. Just, promise me you won’t leave again? Even if we fight, even if I say dumb things please.” You could feel his hand start to shake again. “I promise Kookie. I’m not leaving you again.” You brought his hand up and kissed the back of it, as he smiled at you with that cute bunny smile you missed so much.

i’m back! before i start i’d like to say i appreciate you all so much for the comments and such, even the ones who claim that tae isn’t underrated (begone thots), you motivate my procrastinating ass. you guys don’t need to thank me though i’m just doing the lord’s work. now i have things to talk about so let’s get started! 

if you’re new to these posts then this part 3 of what has kind of become a series (?), where i go on rants defending taehyung and explain why he’s kind of underrated. contrary to popular belief; as you’re about to see, boi needs it.

i will never shut up about this. the popular members get hate too. honestly everyone will go on about how the hyung line members get hate (totally fair), but nobody wants to talk about the shit the maknaes have to deal with cause they’re popular. i’ve never seen someone as grossly sexualised as jimin is, i’ve seen many a horror. jk gets so much hate for having a lot of lines, as if it isn’t tiring and stressful for him. and honestly tae just can’t fucking breathe without getting berated for it. here’s a list of things he’s gotten hate for:

-suggesting a movie with a sex scene (which made him stop his film reccs)

-suggesting a song with sexual lyrics

-posting work from his favourite photography which contained nudity

some jk stans were mad cause jk got more likes on instagram (if you didn’t know the nominees’ pictures were posted on an insta account and people thought they were meant to vote for who they wanted to win.) jk had gotten more votes on his picture so people were mad that tae won, but apparently it’s not the case.

tldr; despite him being the most beautiful creature on this sad earth, it’s not just about visuals and it’s a big deal that he got chosen

general sadness

i’ll say this again. even though everyone thinks tae stans showing concern is twelve year olds trying to stir up drama, we have good reason to do so.

let’s take a moment to talk about stigma, the lyrics are already ambiguous and seemingly sad. this is what he said about it:

remember when the members jumped on tae to open up to them? the way they spoke...you can tell he had gone through something and it breaks my heart honestly, but it seems the members are caring for him. 

visuals

his visuals have gotten him far and this is just a fact. he must feel like his only significance in the group is being a visual. honestly when members are being acknowledged for things and it comes to him they’ll always say something like ‘thx for not being ugli lol’. 

i know this is a thing in kpop i guess but it’s as if he’s just there to look pretty and...growl? and what else? oh yes! be lol so random xd. this really pisses me off cause even in old interviews namjoon would introduce him as ‘the member responsible for 4d charms’ and you’d just see his expression drop immediately.

don’t get me wrong, it’s just a fact that he’s a popular bias cause of his looks, that’s just the way it is and i know it. we as people sub-consciously show bias towards people we find attractive in everyday situations. i’m pretty sure if he weren’t so stunning some people would probably bash him for his ‘alien behaviour’ rather than be like ‘oh ahaha tae-oppa is so cute l o l xd’ or some other cringy shit. 

anyway, he has a lot of fans because of his appearance, who probably think they’re the biggest stan just cause they’ve heard stigma like four times. maybe they watch some ‘taehyung extra compilations’ now and then, but they don’t actually know shit about him andng;sd’#;l#fdfd 

for those that don’t know, he had originally accompanied a friend to the auditions and had no plans to audition himself. he was spotted by an employee who told him he had to audition because he was so good-looking. his looks definitely got him where he is, i imagine it makes him feel like his only significant feature is the fact that he’s pretty. a lot of people have nothing good to say about him not regarding his looks/behavior. 

if you get really deep into it, i think he feels like his visuals are the only reason he’s loved by fans at all. although he doesn’t do it anymore, i’m pretty sure he used to exaggerate his attitude so that people would like him. i know this feeling all too well myself and while i obviously can’t pin point what’s going on in that pretty lil head of his, i think i’ve got an idea. you’re really just ‘weird’ and you try to pass it off as quirky then you’re like ‘oh you like this?’ so you keep acting that way, afraid you’ll stop being interesting. it was brought to my attention that people are actually dropping him cause he’s become more quiet recently :(. 

can i ask why? when taehyung is so beautiful inside and out, he’s definitely got flaws we all do, but while he isn’t perfect there’s just something so unique about him. he’s so clever sometimes yet he can have those dumb moments like forgetting what year it is, he seems like he’s just a cutie yet he’s so mysterious and vague. he’s this beautiful mess of self-contradictions and i love him for it, my favourite art hoe. i found a tae personality-analysis here on tumblr and it was an enjoyable read, op says they had a hard time with his mysterious ass haha

hmm i didn’t know that he auditioned as a rapper. [some of the members really came in with little to no experience in their field though, isn’t that impressive?] yeah that’s true, like i’ve said this before but tae is a golden maknae, he can rap okay? it only sounds weird cause we’re not used to it. even in the table room skit they did that freestyle rap and tae was really good, i’ve read that yoongi himself was really impressed with him!!

and he can dance pretty well too um why isn’t he dance line ???

tae’s been underrated since the start, he was even hidden at the start as he was a ‘secret weapon’, for what? surprise surprise; his looks :o i’m pretty sure he knows this, and it all must add more to the probable mixed feelings he has regarding his role in the group.

Bias & Wrecker Tag

I was tagged a wee while ago by I think @prettywordsyouleft but I literally can’t find anything on tumblr, it’s so confusing even after all this time. Lol I only started really using anything orther than post/reblogg when I started looking for kpop. Lol

This is going to be really short cause I only discovered VIXX in April 2018 and I’m so attached to them I haven’t found any other groups that I really like enough to say oooh he’s a wrecker. But there are some guys I discovered through their acting performances were idols (which means they qualify) and hence my tiny list is born.

1. Ultimate Bias - VIXX - Leo (AKA Jung Taekwoon)

he’s the reason I’m watching/seeing/listening/interacting with any of this. I caught a random playing of scentist and saw silver haired Leo at the piano and was like “is he CGI? Is this a new anime? And then realising he was an actual living human I kept watching and couldn’t stop. The visuals and plot, symbolism etc in that video MV is just outrageous. And when that finished I saw Shangri-la and down the rabbit hole I went. Leo was so strong in the MV and singing but wow he was such an introverted, shy, quiet, I risk to say almost unable to “perform” as just being himself. It was incredibly endearing and I recognised a lot of my traits, as well as a protective feeling for him. Can’t help it. He’s now come on just in 6months and it’s incredible to see such amazing positive changes in him. He’s debuted and it was incredible, he was on shows by himself, leading conversations and interacting with MC’s and fans with ease and such a light hearted atmosphere. Whatever positive things happening in his life to bring him into this mood/stage may it long be good to him cause wow what a changed man and all any starlight wants is for them to be healthy and happy. Yay

2. VIXX Wrecker - N (AKA Cha Hakyeon)

This was the slow, steady, sneaky art that is the Cha-booty. The whole band are stunning there is no question and half are just seriously too young for me sad to say lol but N has been slowly burning into 2nd position since the start. Mostly for how he is as the leader, carer, protector and “mom” of the group. He takes a lot on himself to support each one of them and is always there for them even when they wish he would go away he’s there cause he’s so proud of them. His hugs, his silly and even his cringe is bearable cause of the truly genuine person he comes across ass. When he did a 121 fansign with a girl who was working and at college and trying to support her mum and he went and was just lovely with her. Talked honestly and openly with her it was eye opening into his personality and a lot of his trials and struggles I think he hides to keep his support for the others strong again this was some of the traits I associate with and how I was raised as well so he’s steadily made his way into my list. P.S. amazing dancer, choregrapher and artist. His acting in Tunnel left me stunned. It’s amazing. Check it out.

3. JYJ/TVXQ - Kim Jaejoong

Honestly a couple of years ago I had seen him in a clip of triangle and not even linked him to the kpop world. I was like hmmmm he’s really good actor, he stuck out. The end. Jump forward and Vixx have lead me into the wonderland of kpop and rediscovered my like, nae love, of kdrama and I rediscover him. Then find that he was an idol the whole time! he’s ridiculously sweet and his cats and puppy are just adorable and bonkers. He has a real artistic feel with his love of creating, acting, singing, photography, composing, directing and producing. His personality though still seems truly genuine and gentle, with a lot of grace and honour. It doesn’t hurt that he’s also gorgeous lol but it was his emotional performances that truly reached me and then lead me to his music. 4. CNBLUE - Lee Jonghyun

Again acting lead me to this person, while watching Orange Marmalade (I highly reccomend it) this 2nd lead character stuck out so much and was just the guy you felt the writers just couldn’t stop hurting. I mean literally it was like please, stop kicking him he’s already down!! Anyway, later in the show he is sitting with a guitar (I do love a gutair playing musical hands) and sings a bit and I was like WOW this guy is really good for an actor and msgs my friend saying so. To which she replied “....singing in orange marmalade?....OH FOR F**KS SAKE, HES AN IDOL!!” Then lots of 😭🤣🤣🤣so I go check out some of him and he’s insane guitar skills and he starts to spear on my list. What truly pushes him into it was watching the reality show We Got Married and seeing how crazy sweet and adorable he was and just wishing that they got married for real and had babies cause they were too perfect and sincere to not feel for each other. He wrote her a song!!! That they record together at the end as a gift from him!! 😍💍

5. ZE:A - Park Hyungsik

This is the newest, he slid into the kpop list after watching Hwarang and Bong Soon Strong Girl. Both fabulous by the way. But he was amazing and then of course while watching Hwarang I knew there was an idol or two in the show but I didn’t know who or from where so it was while going through the show and again asking my all things Korean friend about the cast and she by this time has decided I have an “Idol Radar”. Filling me in that he was in ZE:A bit they have disbanded. I listen to some of his singing and seriously how can someone that pretty, sweet, funny, talented exsist? Mind boggling but after the emotional performances from him in the dramas I couldn’t forget him.

I have others on the list but they are actors not idols, so don’t qualify for this round but honourable mention to them:

but also also re the whole squid game subtitle translation thing yes you literally cant translate some things from korean into english because there are things within the language that dont have a good equivalent in english etc etc etc and i completely agree there but netflix isnt cable television its a streaming service literally what is stopping them from adding a section on their translated collections for “translators notes” where whoever they hired to do the translation can explain which things they cant translate accurately 

like for squid game they can maybe talk about how 무궁화 꽃이 피었습니다 (mugunghwa kkochi piosseumnida) was translated as red light green light for english but it actually translates into the hibiscus has bloomed and the way the game is played is you start slow and speed up so people can strategize and the hibiscus is actually the national flower of south korea (and i’m not 100% on this but i think it had a history with the resistance movement during japanese occupation)

and like. just in general they can have a section to explain that 형 (hyung - older brother of a man) and 언니 (eonni - older sister of a woman) etc are kinship terms used for family members or friends you are close with and show a close relationship and all that. or explain abt 반말 (casual speech) and 존댓말 (polite speech) at least for scenes in which its brought up by the characters themselves bc it does not make sense in english

i mean like yeah we all know its because netflix doesnt actually want to pay a translator enough to write out an EXTRA section on their website i bet they would pay their translators 0 dollars if they could. but like. this is something that would actually improve their service. people would have reason to use netflix outside of “they have that show i want to watch that hulu/amazon prime/other streaming service doesnt have”. and people are genuinely interested in what got lost in translation because thats why all those tiktoks and youtube videos about how the squid game translation was inaccurate were doing well. like, i’m sure loads of people would be interested in the fact that ali called sangwoo hyung bc of the meaning that word carries. it would show actual thought from the netflix execs on what they think will improve the experience of using their website. but no.
