Avid horror fans, Kate and James, have been long awaiting the release of the latest Moonlight Massacre film. On opening night, Elle and Gemma happily agreed to watch their nieces, granting them a much-needed date night. 

After hugs, kisses, and several reminders to “be good”, Elle finally ushered them out the door. “Go have fun!” she insisted.

The couple gladly obliged, heading into town hand in hand. Glad for the opportunity for some alone time. Their lives had always been busy, and moments for just the two of them were rare. But since becoming parents, those moments were stolen from empty hourglasses.

They enjoyed a romantic dinner before heading to the theatre, then picked a spot in the back where they could cuddle. Kate loves a horror movie, but that doesn’t mean she’s never afraid. 

Unable to resist the temptation, James came up with a devious plan. Patiently, listening for his queue. As the music began to swell he snuggled closer as if for protection.  

Suddenly thunder cracked, and a flash of lightning brightened the room as the killer was revealed on screen. James struck, tickling her ferociously. She screamed at the top of her lungs and the whole theatre turned to look at her, while James failed to contain his amusement. 

They laughed the whole way home as he reenacted her reaction. But their banter stopped abruptly when they walked in the door, stifled by panic. 

Kate’s unintelligible scream woke the room. “What’s wrong,” Elle mumbled sleepily. Rounding on her sister with all the ferocity of a bear Kate roared,

“I said where the plum is Charlotte?”

I FINALLY GOT ONE OF THESE, YIPPEE!!!! (and the last one ever, too....) Anyways, I'm going to answer the storytelling one, bc that's what I do.

For me it depends on the scene. If I can find a lot from tumblr or the gallery, great! I'll download it and modify it a little if I need to. But if no such thing exists (that I can find at least), or at least no such thing that fits my vision or needs, I'll make it myself. Being a fantasy storyteller, that happens more often than I'd like. I'm absolutely terrible at exteriors, so whenever possible I'll use someone else's lot as a shell. But for interiors, I don't mind decorating in the slightest, and I honestly enjoy doing landscaping for outdoor scenes.

All of the rooms in the The Palace I either decorated myself or had a friend decorate for me. I also built (and shared!) the lot from Kristopher's date. I also built the exterior of the garrison for Nina's date. Oh, and I build the pond lot from Duncan's date!

The graveyard from the prologue, the exterior area from Lavinia's date, the stables from Kristopher's date, the ruins from Nora's date, and the town from Hermes's date were all existing lots that I downloaded from either tumblr or the gallery. I did modify all of them slightly, though, be it by adding decosims or decor items.

If you're interested in seeing some of the stuff I've built, be it for RTQ, for edits, or just for fun, there's a lot of pics in the "ts4 build" tag on my blog. Most of it is stuff I made for RTQ, but Wolf's rooms are also in the tag. (And if I finish Zara's office and remember to take pics, I'll post those too.)

1850's Court Ball Decos - BatsFromWesteros

In the Imperial Court of Vienna, there were two categories of balls. The "official" is the Court Ball, starting at 8pm. The whole court was invited, including members of the diplomatic corps, owners of different orders and official titles, high dignitaries and members of the Viennese garrisons. It was always the Empress who set the date for the ball, it usually took place at the end of January. Only the highest ranking members got an official invitation, the rest of the guests were notified at court (as 90% of the guests were "courtiers"). It was the Court Ball, where debutantes entered society. They were introduced to the Empress in a nearby room by her Obersthofmeisterin. Due to the many guests (around 1500-2000 people) and lack of space, there wasn't much dancing, it was more of a social event, where guests had the chance to speak to the Emperor and Empress during a cercle.

an extremely detailed guide to making deco sims (sims 4).

this is years late but i finally sat down and wrote a long and detailed tutorial on how to make a deco sim. it has gifs this time and when i have the patience, i'll make a video (since everyone learns differently!). i'll try to clear up the grammar in this tutorial (not promising anything) but this tutorial is SOMEWHAT coherent and that's all anyone could ask for.

my method isn't the only method. do what's easiest for you. if you find a faster/better way, go with it, and share it with others.

do not freak out over not understanding a complicated thing the first time. when you learn anything new, YOU WILL FAIL a few times before you eventually get it. that is part of the learning process.

if you've never opened blender before or lack any type of patience when learning anything new, i would not jump into this tutorial. this isn't me saying you can't do this, but try an easier tutorial if you're able to and level up to this one. rome wasn't built in a day.

i loathe giving business class simblr another avenue for revenue but i do want people in this community to learn something new (and stop using my deco sims in paid builds). If you are going to be the weirdo that makes people pay for deco sims (and i know $$$$$imblr will), either use your own cc/poses, ask permission from creators, or just use in-game content. please don't put other people's FREE CC behind your paywall. i know this falls on deaf ears because some people can be legit jerks, but i tried!

i know some will gloss over the decimation / LOD part of this tutorial, i recommend anyone downloading decos CHECK THE POLY COUNT. if you have a potato of a computer, use them sparingly.
