Kashi/Varanasi/Benaras
(the city of light)
Brahma once weighed the heavens against Kashi. And Kashi, being heavier, sank while the skies, despite all the gods who lived there, rose upwards.

Day 3
This morning we were determined and set out to eat some Varanasi Butter Toast...but it was already too late and all the sada makhan and rabdi was sold out. (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`)
After some consolation, we then set out for Kalabhairava Mandir where the picture is from. On the line to the temple, a butterfly rested on our maalas. The inside of the temple was so cool; we even got to ring a bell at the entrance! I thought I wouldn't be able to reach it, but in the end I did it😌
Tumblr media
We started feeling hungry again so we decided to have Kachori for breakfast. It was SO good! We bought Longlata from the restaurant we ate at and it was also really tasty.
Tumblr media
That's all for today! We were tired so we didn't do much in the evening. Our flight back home is tomorrow so honestly, this is not too bad either.
See you next time~

Varanasi! 18-06-2024
Hola Amigos!!!
As I promised, more snapshots from my journey.
Today, I am exploring the ghats of Banaras, Varanasi, and I must say, I found this place absolutely staggering. It's a completely new experience. The city just spills into the river Ganges.
Here, in Varanasi, the Ganga doesn't just flow; it carries the essence of a spiritual legacy.💓
I am out of words to describe the beauty of this city, so I must take a leave. See you soon.
Bye!!!!

Gangaa Aarti (गंगा आरती) Varanasi (also known as Benares, Banaras, or Kashi), is a North Indian city on the banks of the Ganges river in Uttar Pradesh, India. Aarti also spelled arati, arathi, aarthi (from the Sanskrit word aratrika with the same meaning) is a Hindu religious ritual of worship, a part of puja, in which light from wicks soaked in ghee (purified butter) or camphor is offered to one or more deities. Aartis also refer to the songs sung in praise of the deity, when lamps are being offered. #gangaaarti #ganga #varanasi #banaras #kashi #india #gangaghat #gangariver #varanasidiaries #rishikesh #haridwar #delhiboyashish #varanasighats #incredibleindia #travel #travelphotography #photography #assighat #mahadev #uttarakhand #uttrakhand #uttarpradesh #varanasiindia #ghatsofvaranasi #kashivishwanath #ganges #aarti #bhu #shiva #uttarakhandtourism (at Varanasi - Kashi - Banaras) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmRyYdehDjV/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Day 2
We went to Kashi Vishwanath Temple at dawn and since we didn't carry bags, I couldn't bring my nui with. In hindsight, it was a good thing because it was sweltering and my palms were sweating. My only regret is not being able to put him next to Nandi ji's ear. We went back at 6AM.
In the evening, we went to Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir where we weren't allowed our phones so I couldn't take pictures of nui.
Next, we went to Shri Satyanarayan Tulsi Manas Mandir where the picture is from. There was an animatronic Tulsidas near the entrance which I have conflicted feelings about.
Tumblr media
While there, we went inside the Shri Ramkrishna Lila Jhaki where there were animatronics on the various event from Ramayana. It was more fun than expected!
Tumblr media
Dinner was Kashi Chaat of course.
That is all, see you next time~
