Yes. It happens just like that. This has been one of the blessings of this time of isolation. I have rediscovered hearth, relationship and myself in a way that I did not expect. I have learned to say “NO” to protect myself and my family in a way that I never knew I’d need to, and it feels so good. My space is sacred and I’m enjoying sharing it with only those who are caring for themselves as we have been caring for each other. I am learning to be comfortable taking that same “ No” out into the world and distancing even from friends without shame. I know others are choosing a different path, but this is mine and every step forward into it is a step that makes me stronger and more creative. It is the path of the Crone...a traditional and ancient path of power. A quieter activism than I am used to, but a fire that burns steadily without sputtering. I have spoken with many women my age who are experiencing something very similar and I am so grateful for it.
