Still doodling away. The top corner has evolved pretty naturally into a Neverland inspired by the new one in Tokyo, and a great opportunity to bring captain Hook’s ship and skull rock back to Disneyland. Tomorrowland has found itself with a version of horizons or guardians and the old people mover either has a new entrance or the hub acts as the entrance to a indoor monorail station accessed by a bridge. Directly north of Tomorrowland is something of a hybrid between fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Something science fiction but highly fantastical. Submarine prop as a nod to the past, maybe there a walkthrough. In the middle, the matterhorn gets a mountain range or cliffs to provide a transition, and two unknown attractions take the rest of the space

It's our last Disney park day!! And what a wonderful day it was. We are waiting for the bus now and I am beat. This was a wonderful trip.
I slept okay last night. When we got back to the room and had showers. I washed my hair. Things were good. We had made a quick stop at the front desk so Jess could get change and we could do some pin exchanging. I ended up dropping my compact mirror and breaking it though and felt a little sad about that. But that is okay. We would get cleaned up and ready for tomorrow, put on Fantasia and went to sleep.
Waking up was a little tough. We decided to take advantage of the early entry but we had to get up so early. And then we would grab breakfast to go. So we were in line for the bus eating our food. Which was honestly fine. I really liked my bagel sandwich even though they out bacon on it and I had to take if off. And we shared the potatoes and then the bus was there!
We got to Magic Kingdom and after we got a few pictures without the big crowds in front of the castle, we headed straight to get Jess coffee. But then we couldn't go on the two rides we were planning on so instead we walked to the other side of the park and once we got there Jess was done her coffee and we got to get right on the Haunted Mansion.
This was very fun. But nothing today was particularly thrilling. It was all the classic and original rides. Which I really did enjoy. I loved seeing the animatronics and seeing the sets and it was just a really good time.
We would jump on a lot of things. After Haunted Mansion we climbed the Swiss Family Robinson tree house. It was really cool to see how they used the boat pieces to make the rooms and it was also fun telling Jess boat facts. Also very silly. I was having a really good time.
We went on a lot of things today. We would go on the Jungle Cruise next. And I loved our skipper. He was really funny. And while it wasn't real animals the scenes were really cute and well done. I still think it's so interesting how many of the rides were rides first and then movies.
We would make it back to Tomorrow Land. Which is where we had tried to start the day but that just didn't work out. We still didn't have much of a wait and we went in the Carousel of Progress. And that animatronic was excellent. The only one I didn't like was the very last one because it was supposed to be modern but was just a little outdated in its guesses about the future? Still very fun.
I had to take a minute to sit down after because I got an email from a reporter about the assault I saw. Apparently the Mayor is offering a reward and they wanted to intervene me. Instead I just wrote him up an account from what I remembered. I also got to see that there is an article about what happened and I'm mentioned as a neighbor. They said the actions of his son and me probably saved his life. Crazy. I hope they find the people who did it.
We would go on the People Mover next. Which was not as long as I expected. I would have liked it to go around more things but I still liked it. Getting to see a lot of Tomorrowland and seeing the insides of things. It was really neat.
While we were on People Mover we saw that there was a car riding/speedway. So I asked to do that. And while we were in line I finished my email to the reporter. And then we got to go on a little drive.
I was very bad at this. The steering wheel was very hard to control. But I was laughing a lot and having a really good time. This was a good day.
We would go and see the most important thing soon after that. We went to see the Tangled themed bathroom. Which honestly was super pretty. I hope they do something with Tangled someday. Love that movie.
As we were walking around near Main Street I saw the uniforms for the one restaurant were very cute baseball uniforms. And I requested to go there because they had a veggie hotdog. Which ended up being more like a sausage but I really liked. We were even able to snag a table. They didn't have gluten free bread so Jess mostly just ate the fries that came with it but we were doing good.
We would go in some shop and wander around the downtown. Jess reminded me that we were planning on getting the silhouettes of ourselves and our cats and it was right there. So we waited in the little line for that.
And the girl who did them was so great. She went to set school too and was a sweetheart. Jess got her and her cat separately and I got me and Sweetp together. I made sure she got his little nose bump. I'm thrilled. We even got them framed.
While we were waiting our turn we got to see a little parade which I didn't expect. I really liked to see the Mary Poppins face character. And I was just in a great mood despite the sun beating on me.
We were going to start heading to the bus to go take our afternoon break but we saw that there was a quartet starting to perform. And after their first song they noticed our birthday buttons and sang just for us. And after they finished we ran away, literally, and made an older lady laugh out loud. We were in such a silly mood.
But my mood would drop fast. The bus took a while to come. And I was exhausted. Jess told me that she was trying to be the strong one but it was a struggle because I got so low so fast. We thought ordering food for pickup would be quick and we could get back to the room. This did not go according to plan.
Though the app said our food was ready, it would take almost 20 more minutes. And it wouldn't have been so infuriating if the staff would actually give us some timeframe of what was happening. Instead of saying sorry and the. Basically ignoring us.
I was very close to falling apart. Jess tried to send me back to the room alone but I stuck it out with her. And we got back to the room at 2.
I very sadly ate my little piece of pizza. Jess would clean herself up. And pretty soon I was just getting in bed and going to sleep.
It took me a while to settle my brain. But once I was asleep I was good. I did spring away at 415 convinced we were supposed to be up at 4 and that caused me to scare Jess awake. Oops.
Then we were both startled by housekeeping knocking on the door so super loud. We were both a little groggy but I answered and they said they could come back. So that would give us a half hour to get redressed and get out of there.
And that is just what we did. We had decided to cancel our dinner reservation and instead just went straight to the park.
Another stop at the lobby to ask for a bandaid. We discovered that they do a photo scavenger hunt so tomorrow we might attempt that. But we got out of there pretty fast. And went back to Magic Kingdom.
The bus was really easy this time and we got there without much issue. And we had some time before the fireworks. And I think we used that time well.
We went on the train which takes you around the park. And while it isn't technically a 'ride' it was still really fun and I loved seeing all the behind the scenes stuff. We even saw construction for Tiana's new area opening later this year.
And when we got off we were at the carnival. Which was really cute. We would go on Private of the Caribbean, Aladdin's magic carpet, a little mermaid ride, and it's a small world. We really packed in as much as we could. We would also buy a few pins and trade a few more. It was a lot of fun.
Around 7 we started to try and figure out where we would watch fireworks. After some moving around we decided Jess would get in line for a churro and popcorn and I would go and find us somewhere.
I found a ledge near a slightly obscured area. And while I waited for Jess I had a really nice conversation with a woman from New York. She is an occupational therapist and hasn't been to magic Kingdom since 1986, when she saw the challenger explode over Disney Word??? What a crazy story. She was really nice.
When Jess joined us we all talked about work and life and our rankings of the park. And when her family joined her son, a 5th grader, asked if I knew what Five Night at Freddy's was and we ended up talking for almost a half hour. Which both Jess and the mom though was bizarre but also probably hilarious. Like I have never played these games but I know them well enough to talk to most kids about it. And if I didn't know something I would phrase it as a question to get him to tell me more. It was good fun. And a great way to waste the half hour before the fireworks started.
I have to say that Epcot's firework show was better. Again this one relied to heavily on projections for my taste, but the fireworks themselves were very impressive and I had a great time. Sitting on the ground. Getting sprinkled with ash. It was honestly super fun.
And when it was over we still had an hour and a half of the park being open. So Jess grabbed onto my purse, we said goodbye to our new friends, and I motored us through the crowd. I only had to push through a few people who were just being so unaware of their bodies. But no one got hurt and I got us to the other side of the plaza.
I bought a few more pins. And we decided that trading pins is more fun then buying the blind bags. I really like the pins I got. Both purchases and traded but there is just something so thrilling about the finding.
We saw that pirates had a 5 minute wait so we went on it again. And I think I liked it more the second time. I had a really great day.
After visiting the Tangled themed bathroom, which was beautiful at night, and wandering down Main Street we decided to call it. And end the day in a high note.
The line for the bus was long. But we made it on the second one that pulled up. We were the last ones on. Pretty nice. And while the standing made it tough to work on my post, and it was incredibly hot to the point I was legit sweaty, we would very soon be back at the hotel.
We paused in the gift shop and I got another traded pin. This one a Duffy Bear cupcake and I was so excited. Jess spotted it first but she let me have it. Love her for that. And then we went going back to our room.
I was a little nauseous. And had to drink a lot of water when we got back to the room but after a shower and putting away my laundry, I feel a lot better. Just very tired.
Tomorrow we are going home. But we still have a lot of day until then. We are going to sleep in a little. Then after breakfast and packing we are going to Disney Springs for the last time. Probably grabbing those last few souvenirs we liked, and after a little lunch, coming back here to get our shuttle to the airport.
Our flight isn't until 530 so we won't be home until late. I am so so so excited to see my husband. Also my cat. And just to be back to the wintertime. This has been such a nice break, and honestly I feel so spoiled by the weather besides everything else. But I also just feel so lucky.
I hope you all sleep great tonight. And I hope tomorrow is a beautiful day. Goodnight everyone. Until next time.

ok the thing is that a lot of ppl actually believed the future would be high speed publicly accessible modes of transportation like the monorail at Disneyland was supposed to signify the ideas of what the future may b like… fucking Tomorrowland had the people movers and all this shit that was supposed to b this idealistic future… i didn’t watch a lot of the jetsons but didn’t they also have high tech public transports ? sure they had flying cars and shit but ???

i've been following for a good while and honestly i've just been imagining you as a disembodied voice (a la stanley parable narrator) that talks to me while i'm walking around tomorrowland haha
oh that's fitting! the idea of being a disembodied narrator is quite fun, like the voice-over for the people mover!
