Between Dreams and Temptations (Reylo Fic)

Omg I just put up the first chapter of my fic (that I’ve been working on for the last year and a half) on Ao3 and I am FREAKING out. It’s listed under @tasogareban since that’s my main account and the account I use for most of my fanfiction.

I’m definitely thanking @tigerofsummer for being my beta and for being an all-around AWESOME person. She’s gorgeous and beautiful and just amazing. Go check her out, she’s just...I’ve run out of words to describe her. I can’t. I CAN’T!!!

And now I’m back to freaking out. This fic...has a plot, absolutely. But it definitely has more smut (and HARDCORE smut) than anything I’ve ever written before for any fandom.

Synopsis: Six months after the events on StarKiller Base, Rey has been taken on as an apprentice to Luke Skywalker. However, she begins to dream of a man that brings her body to life in the night and is unrecognizable in her waking hours. When he comes for her and spirits her away to the new First Order base, Rey is forced to reconcile her dreams with the nightmare she has been thrust into.

The fic is completely done. I just need to upload a chapter every day or couple of days depending on work and life.

My questions are as follows:

If you could change anything about the Star Wars universe, what would it be and why? Honestly..? That it could be a bit more adult. I’m a smut writer for God’s sake!! I want to see my Reylo get it on!

Do you believe in love at first sight? Why or why not? I don’t, lol. I believe in LUST at first sight but not love. If I did, I would not have given my guy a second glance because he didn’t catch my eye at all in the beginning. And now we’ve been together for 12 years and are engaged as well. 

Have you ever been out of the country you reside in? If yes, where? Yep! My dad’s family lives in Mexico so I have gone to Mexico, D.F. to visit family and have my Quinceanera there, and to also visit his hometown which was this tiny little place barely on a map, lol! But I have also been to Cancun for a family vacation where we went the tourist route. 

The best little hole-in-the-wall restaurant you ever been to? Blah...uh, I guess there’s a place in the Park Slope/Windsor Terrace area of Brooklyn, New York called Elora’s. It’s not exactly a hole in the wall anymore but it was when I first started going over a decade ago. Their margaritas are to die for and their food ain’t half bad either, lol! It’s a mix of Mexican and a wide range of Hispanic dishes (PR, DR, etc.)

Who is the person, living or dead, you most admire? My mom, currently alive. She’s had it hard growing up and moving away from Puerto Rico at a young age plus there’s the whole issue of Hispanic women being paid the least when it comes to the wage gap but she has persevered through it all. Plus, my brother and I were a handful growing up (and still are!) so I know we didn’t help the situation much. But this woman is my life and someone I strive to be like because she is the strongest and most awesome woman I know. She has been through it all without losing her sense of self and her culture, and trying to instill all of her values on us. She is the best thing in my life.   

Dream job? Bestselling author/writer who works from home, lol! When I was a little younger, it was to be an author who also did her own covers for her books. Before that, in my teens and early twenties, it was to be an anime/manga artist who did her own artwork and wrote the story line as well. I basically wanted to be a one-woman show when it came to books, lol!

Guilty pleasure? Off the top of my head, coffee shop romance books, lol! I mean, I have a TON of guilty pleasures, but I always look for books like that and immediately get drawn into covers that show off a nice cup of coffee with some romantic whipped cream art. Is that weird? 

Are you excited for the Lando Calrissian…oops I mean Han Solo movie? Not...too much. I went to see Black Panther again yesterday with a good friend from work and my brother. I had already seen the movie once over the weekend and knew that I would be in love with every single character in that movie. I also explained that I would be making these inappropriate sounds whenever they came onscreen and so they should be prepared. The Han Solo movie was one of the previews and I made an inappropriate sound when Lando Calrissian smiled onscreen, and my brother whips his head around and goes, “ALREADY?!?” LOL. So IF I go see that movie in theaters, it will be for Lando and Chewie. The rest of the movie looks lame to me (I’m sorry to all of the people eagerly awaiting it! You guys can count my bro as one of your numbers!) plus I am an OTPer. I’m HanLeia all the way. I’m perfectly content with the OT. 

Who are your favorite ships across all fandoms? Hmmmm, Reylo (Star Wars), Peraltiago (Brooklyn Nine Nine), Ten x Rose (Doctor Who), Amy x Jonah (Superstore), ThunderBlink (The Gifted), Hannah x Thierry (Night World books). I have like 80 more but I feel like that would be pushing it. Basically, any fanfic I have ever written under Tasogareban/Cassandra and/or Aeslinn has always had an OTP at its core. 

Favorite female superhero? Phoenix/Dark Phoenix/Jean Grey (Marvel). Jean AND Rachel have always been number one in my life. I go for a good angsty story where a powerful (usually female) being goes dark and is redeemed in death. *shrug emoji* 

Favorite male superhero? Eeeesh. Probably Gambit (Marvel). No other male superhero has ever come close to my love for him. That’s why I’m eyeing Channing Tatum so closely these days.
