Love In Captivity - Britta Perry/Michelle Slater

A/N: Day 12 for @sintember

Paintball. It comes around time and again. Usually Michelle escapes the madness quickly, taking herself out as quickly as possible to avoid being found or tracked down by someone desperate for help. Usually she’s not locked in. She hears the yelp, then scream of pain and moves quickly. Britta is still where she fell, coated in several paintballs, a low whimper of pain making it easier for Michelle to drag her up and into her office, shutting the door and jamming a chair under the handle. The lock had been broken for months. “Slater?” “Perry.” Michelle barely hides her sigh as she works on prizing loose the boot over the clearly wounded ankle, barely hiding her wince when Britta howls with pain as the boot comes off a clearly bruising ankle. It's easy to see what happened, the girl’s ankle is out of place and Michelle barely thinks before snapping it back into position, moving to find a first aid kit and wrap the girl’s ankle as gently as possible. Her eyes meet Britta’s before she moves to place the girl’s foot on her desk, moving to her own seat before inching closer to the trembling girl, Britta’s eyes closing as further screams echo in the corridor, letting her burrow closer. “It’ll be over soon Britta, we’ll be fine.” She drives Britta home with her when it’s all over, lets the girl sleep in her bed, wrapped in a shirt several sizes too big for either of them, wrapping herself gently around the girl when Britta shifts closer. It’s a strange start to a new life but she finds she doesn’t really care.

Happy 10th anniversary to the GSNK anime!

10 years ago in Japan, the GSNK anime made by Doga Kobo started airing as part of the Summer 2014 season! It was through this adaptation that fans fell in love with the idiotic shenanigans charms of Nozaki&co, and many went on to read the manga to see more of our gang tackling shoujo manga tropes.

The anime adapted Chapters 1-48 of the manga, albeit sadly with a lot of skipped/shortened content (and interesting... changes). However, the adaptation really brought the series to life thanks to the stellar Japanese voice cast, A+ soundtrack, and the animators elevating some scenes with some added wackiness (those two panels of Hori finding himself piggybacked by bull!Kashima, expanded to 40 seconds of the most hilarious riding(?) sequence ever? iconic).

The anime has 12 episodes (plus 6 special mini episodes) and can be currently streamed legally on HIDIVE amongst other sources (depending on your region). It's been dubbed in a few languages, including an English dub by Sentai Filmworks.
