fucking hell man. the asker got a good fucking point and thats why i love kalego so goddamn much, but the responder also got a point - the hearkbreaker was an entire mess of a 'lesson plan' and the teachers totally let their excitment get the better of them. but i think its also important to note that demons are not human - and as such this is a viable mistake for demons to make, getting caught up in their own pleasure, being short sighted like this. those 2 deffo shouldve gone thru some fucking proper teacher training before starting at the school and i think its a dumb fucking system that throws 2 buff ass demons into a school for protection reasons, without taking into account that damage they could do within from the lack of training. i wanna bite all of their heads off and reattach them.

Kalego must be the most angry, post Heartbreaker arc. His brother let two suspicious people enter Babyls under recommendation.

Kalego didn't really have any way to think that they would be dangerous for the kids, even Balam didn't see anything really wrong, even if he must have knew that something was wrong, and he must have shared his thoughts with his best friend.

But Kalego trusted his brother's words, why shouldn't he did it? It's his brother and they seems to have a good relationship (unlike his relaiton with his uncle). Family seems to be important for demons after all.

and then, not only one of the teachers RECOMMANDED by his big brother tried to kill EIGHT students (Sabro, more or less + thetwo first years with him + Allocer + the four first years with him) but he also tried to kidnap Iruma. It's only by chance that all of them are still safe.

because right now, Kalego has two face two possibilities.

1) his brother didn't knew. and it's a big error of judgement who could have had big consequences. And so Kalego will have one or two words to say about it. Even if Narnia didn't know, Kalego's trust into him must have been damaged. Because next time, who know what could happen? Kalego will NEVER forget or forgive that.

2) Narnia KNEW. Let one (two?) suspicious and dangerous "teachers" enter to Babyls and then he's a accomplice. And so he's potentially a traitor and Kalego must comfort him to have few words with him and have a explanation.

Nothing matters more for Kalego than his students safety. And here 8 students could have been killed (or seven + a return to origin) and Iruma could have been kidnapped. Three of his students suffered, and are likely more or less traumatised (ok 5 students with Jazz because of Mabras Sensei, and Gaomon being depressed because his true face has been seen).

Because he trusted his brother, and he trusted his brother's recommandation for Atori and Shiida without too much doubts. Balam told him that they didn't lie but that they should keep a eye on them.

He must feel betrayed. He must be angry. Because either his brother has been terribly negligent and didn't honor his position, either he's a traitor who work for the same person than Atori, the person who has attacked the school under Kalego's protection and who has hurt students.

Opera can be mad at him, but it's probably nothing compared to how much mad at himself Kalego must be to have trusted his brother without doubts and to have let that happen. and he must be so much mad at his brother, considering that he's visibly ready to BITE and has a "smile" when he says "yeah yeah i promise that i will not provoke troubles"

After rereading multiple times I've come to the conclusion that kalego's relationship with his brother is vague

Very vague, that i cant comment about how it could affect kalego's feelings towards what atori did. Like their are instances that lead me to believe their relationship isn't that great, but at the same time he's talking very neutrally about him

Kalego went to his uncles help before going to his brother, and the face kalego did when he heard his brother could become one of the 13 crowns

These are signs that could have perfectly good explanation other than kalego having problems with his brother, but since there are no concrete evidence of what their relationship is like, I'll just skip kalego's brother for now until more is revealed

About the clusterfuck that could also be called the heartbreaker event.

This event wasn't made to help the students. It was made to destroy the misfits. Some teachers took that job too literally (looking at you, robin and Mabras) they themselves admitted that they were doing this event to crush their pride. teaching them a lesson was considered a bonus, but was not the main objective.

So after they've stated that, they decided that it'd be a good idea to let the newbies participate

I dont care what excuse they have. That was a recipe for disaster from the start

Oh! They were recommended by the patrol, specifically kalego's brother? How cute. I didn't know that one of the patrol's job was to train teacher and send them to babyl's school.

Can the patrol ensure that these people know the basics of teaching? That they know that these students have limits? Do these new teachers know when pushing students beyond their limits suddenly become putting students in unnecessary danger?

I think not

And on top of that, did any of the teachers even tried to see what the newbies are like in a fight? Ya know, to make sure that these teachers know what's ok and what's not?

Do you even know what those newbies abilities are? Other than shiida can kick people? Not knowing their abilities is very bad, because being surprised by their abilities in the middle of the exam sounds like a very bad idea. Their ability could be making people explode for all they know!

Oh, but of course no teacher in their right mind would use such a dangerous ability around their students

These are not teachers. These are people who are still learning to become teachers, and they're against students who are actively attacking them. They were bound to use their abilities at one point, especially since they're against the misfits

And lets say that shiida's ability is brute force. They don't know whether shiida is aware that she can't use a lot of force with everyone in the misfits. There are only 5 out of 13 students who know how to fight(excluding first years because these are first years. They shouldn't be dragged into this shit in their first month)

So, their abilities is one unknown variable, their fighting skills is another unknown variable, their moral standards is questioned by balam, and they have zero teaching experience. Pairing them, unsupervised, to the misfits, a class that is as predictable as the weather (not predictable at all) is just asking for a disaster to happen. You can't make a physical exam for students without ensuring that everything will go as planned. Not knowing anything, no matter how small could cost a students life.

And it almost did

It was very careless of them to believe that no matter what they'll be nearby and able to help. And the evidence to that are the students who almost died. The students that had to stay in the infirmary.

Kalego is mad at himself? Good. They all should be. So next time they won't make the same mistake. So next time they know not to trust the judgement of someone who's not a teacher. So next time no student's life is on the line.

Because next time they may have to deal with a student's death

I will have no sympathy towards them regarding this event until one of them at least one teacher acknowledges that what has happened was due to their own shortcomings. But until now, only opera has said that, and it wasn't his job at the time to look over the school.

And now that my feelings over the heartbreaker has been refreshed, I can confidently say: Narnia, you're on thin fucking ice

Dogday has Autism and ADHD!

Because of his big ol ears, he has bad sensory issues with specific sounds, especially since he can hear so well. Because of that, he carries around headphones with him everywhere, so if you see him sitting somewhere with them on, he is overwhelmed, do not bother him!!

He glows in the dark like a nightlight, but his pendant glows constantly.

When he stims, he does so with tail wagging, hand flapping, and leg stomps/shakes.

I like object heads I just like drawing them but if you wanna know more abt the fashion choices in detail read on 👅

I wanted a more 70s inspired fashion, due to bold colors and rhe bold silohette that would allow me to easily implement a triangle motif still within his shillotye and small details in his outfit I.e the shoes

shirts also had bold patterns which where usually ROUNDED so instead of the brick pattern I went for a simplified cipher wheel which that could seem so cool and bold patterns

HOWEVER I feel like bill would've taken different human forms for loads of different people using their thoughts and time periods to mold himself to seem better adjusted to them. Ford and Stan grew up in the early 50s and late 60s and by the time ford would be in his 20s past uni and doing his research project, it would've been well into the 70s. This not only makes Bill seem more relevant and 'savy' w the times, but also more trustworthy. However, someone also influenced by this fashion Is STAN who is seen during his scams wearing bold simular suits.

however in modern media bold flashy colorful suits have also became synonymous with SCAM ARTISTS such as stan and in recent years Saul goodman for example. Bill is also a scam artist basically !!! but his fashion being simular to stans, who ford would've saw his adverts on tv, would've immedality created a simular bond between the two right off the bat due to the familiar nature of his suits !!!

I also feel like he'd probably keep this 70s style in modern day to ford and stan as that time period carries alot of shame for the twins, with ford being tricked by bill into building the portal and used, and stan being homeless and relying on cheap tricks and scams to get by, so he's really just rubbing salt in the wound

I feel like neither but both at the same time xD. Each place is catered to their specific interests. But they both have things they enjoy about each trip :3

My headcanon, half of Krueger's family (Dad side) are part of "higher society" + being naturally artistic, he enjoys museums, contemporary art, etc.

Nak is still technically considered "New Money" because of Naga, plus how she was raised, she really doesn't see anything cool in art museums or museums in general. She's willing to go with him because it's something he enjoys, and she likes walking beside him as he explains each piece. She really enjoys how smart he is when he wants to be.

Nak likes animals so zoos, aquariums, etc. are enjoyable for her, she likes pointing at the ones that she thinks look like him, and there are slightly less restrictions in there unlike the museum (Don't touch the paintings, don't stand too close, etc.)

Since Krueger is rather indifferent about most animals, that feeling naturally transfers over to zoos. He'll find other ways to entertain himself there by taking pictures of the plants or being the Map Man. He'll go to the zoo or aquarium with Nak because he likes seeing her happy and excited :D (Sorry if it doesn't make sense)

Their Interaction at an Art Museum usually goes like this...

Axe: He likes your hair :) he finds it fun to bounce it and really likes how soft your thighs look/are. If you can do magic, he is a little uncomfortable just because humans with magic aren't very good to monsters in the past… he ignores those thoughts the best that he could. Expect him to sometimes steal your hat to mess with you.

Noodle: They think you're so cute and soft. They want to protect you from everything that could hurt you, even though you could probably take care of yourself. Expect them to lean against you often whenever they don't want to use their cane. They're probably heavy, but hey, I'm sure you could handle it.

Blueberry: He likes how pink you are! He thinks it's a really pretty color. You're pink and he's blue! It works perfectly. He hopes that you'd be able to keep up with him… he moves around a lot. He likes your hair and the hat that you always wear! :D I think he would want to know about your magic and what you can do (and he's the type to complain about your outfit, but only because he worries you'd get too cold.)

Stretch: Let him play with your hair, and it would make him pretty happy. Expect him to make a lot of little dumb jokes and puns... he would probably try to steal your hat and hold it up out of your reach, just because he likes your reactions.

Sans: Expect a lot of pink jokes. He enjoys how curly your hair is, and asks a lot of questions about how you take care of it. If you do magic and potions, expect him to also ask questions about that(and make puns) because he's curious how it works for humans. Humans with magic is a very rare thing, nowadays.

Papyrus: He has many questions! Can you do magic? Or are you just dressed like that? He loves it! He thinks that you look so nice and cool! If you can do magic, show him some tricks! It would make him very happy. There are a lot of things he wants to see and he might come up with fake human things because he thinks it's real. He's a bit of a dummy.

Red: He's gonna squeeze your thighs, and no, I won't explain more than that(he likes how squishy they are) the idea of magic and stuff like that confuses him… more than he would like to admit. He thought magic in humans died out over the years! It was something that he was hoping for. Ugh. Anyway, yeah, expect him to be way overprotective of you.

My Trans story so far (2024)

Hoi there, and happy trans day of visibility. I can't possibly be more vissible then this right? I had to share my story with someone a few months back when i came out to them, and ever since then i had the idea of making it my next post in this inconsistent and confusing series.

I say series because this is part two. Here's part 1 on...sonic cd. yup.

So the format is simple. I take something i already typed and try to make it more legible for a blog type racket. No reason not to get right into it. Beware of typos, and transphobes begone!

I'm a kid in a barber shop. My grandpa is talking up a storm to some random clerk. I'm extremely bored. There are some toys though. Poly pocket. I never seen these before. These are so cool. I wish i had one of these but they don't make boy versions right?

Some time in 2022, I was at work dealing with closing cleaning type things which let my mind wander. I started thinking about a fairly innocuous interaction I had in FFXIV no earlier then 2021. The race I wanted to play was gender locked so I was playing as a female character. Two players starting joking around with me and the whole time they used fem pronouns for me. I didn't think too much about it back then but on that day in late 2022 it made me question why I was so ok with that use of language towards me

That was the day my egg cracked.

I spent the rest of 2022 trying desperately to figure out what my relationship to gender was. Just what the heck was I and did that even mean anything? Maybe I was gender fluid. It was hard to feel fem at work. Or oh! Maybe i'm just a drag queen in the making. But why did I not want that to be true and did that mean anything? Well clearly i wasn't actually trans right? Nevermind that gender fluid was trans. I thought maybe that I only felt that way because I was playing a character. So I made up my mind. In 2023, at the start of a new year I would begin to experiment.

It's around the era of the nintendo wii and something is bothering me feircly. I spent days on my gamecube on my tiny crt and realized I was picking princess peach a lot on my precious 'cube. I confide in my friend that I really must have a crush on her. When pressed I can't say why. I'm so glad he doesn't embarss me for my stupid feelings. It was a little weird I didn't like her as much in that one game though. Not my fault she just looked better in a dress.

I stopped cutting my hair and started trimming my beard and prized mustache so I was always smooth and baby faced. Anyone who asked I simply told them that it was a new year and a new me. Except for my friends who were the first to know.

My imposter syndrome was HIGH. And it remaind so for a long time. so afraid was I that I was actually, secretly, a fake trans. I had no evidence for this except piss poor self confidence. I only talked myself out of it much later with the idea that "Being trans and just really thinking you're trans is functionally the same so it doesn't mater if i'm 'fake' "

Unfortunately, my friend group wasn't doing a lot of online gaming at the time. I got a little desperate to see if my new pronouns fit. To my shame I basically asked one of them to contrive reasons to put pronouns into a sentence so they had reasons to use my new ones. They did not oblige.

Another pokemon game for my precious nintendo 3ds. I pick the girl because clearly they'll have better fashion options. I had just learned my lesson from Pokemon Y. No other reason. A few other simular things. I pick up megaman zx for the first time and choose the girl because, obviously, only female megaman.

I got a break when I was invited to a short lived DND group. I started hanging out with a separate friend group I was already beginning to know before gender stuff started. With ample chances to try my gender out I realized that something felt right.

So I went deeper. I remember wandering around a good will trying not to draw ire or eyes as I went and both tried on a dress and managed to bring it home. The few times I wore it felt great. Would feel much better if it actually fit.

It's my childhood again and i'm sat in front of the ps1 with my little brother. Namco museum only had one true co-op game. Toy Pop. I pick the girl so he won't have to.

In days to come I kept experimenting. I started to realize all the small signs. You already know many of them. I've peppered them througout my story. Unbeknownst to me I had already started to experiment with gender. Awhile ago I, once again trying not to get attention, bought some thigh highs from a party store. I really enjoyed wearing those. Everyone except for me knew I was trans before me, including me.

When I was dead certain on my path I set up an appointment with planned parenthood. I told my grandparents I was simply heading to Dave and busters which was technically not untrue. I began my medical transition but I was also urged to come out to people. I couldn't live in the closet forever. So I did so with my very obviously gay manager… And it went nothing like I expected. It went well, but not how I thought. I ended up coming out to the whole work force as well.

The right wing had tricked me into thinking any "regular" person would react with shock and confusion on a reveal of my new gender identity. All the media I consumed had colaborated this.

I'm just entering furry twitter when I see quite a few posts of male characters in dresses, usuasly of the maid variety. How cute, i think. I'm allowed to do this one because it's a shared joke. So i draw the one dress.

And then a few more.

"I wish I could look as good as my characters do right now"

Eventually I managed to come out to my grandparents. They were confused but attempting to be accepting. Things have mostly been rocky in the sense that they haven't made any effort to treat me the way I ask, but they don't deny me. The parents who raised me are forbidden to know their daughter.

I even came out to my astranged mother. (seperate from my step mother mention a second ago). When I was in highschool she moved back in town and we started to rekindled our relationship. Being the first to know I was ace, it was a shock when she became a born again christian. I thought she'd never accept me and I was almost right. Behind closed doors she tells my younger sister to not refer to me by my pronouns, or so i'm told.

After I was out for awhile something weird happened and I stopped.. Policing my own behavior. How I held myself. The words I used. I was my own women. I didn't need to fit into a box. The more I went on the more free I felt!

I started holding my hands in gay little ways. I crossed my legs. I walked however the hell I wanted. I used 'hon' whenever i felt like it. I wore this cute little collar I owned out to my weekly dnd meetings. Who cares. I'm me now. This cat can't be boxed.

The longer I've been on this journey the more I felt right. And here we are now. A two year or more journey still ongoing

It's 2023 and i'm attempting to put on eyeliner for the first time. It goes horribly. I laugh, inform my friends of my mistake, and we play games through the night. I wear my favorite of the two dresses. I ask them if it's ok to do so. They laugh. What and absurd thing to ask. Why would a woman not be allowed to wear a dress?

I would like to thank a huge number of people for their help in my journey but my brain is mush so i'll try to get as many as I can

BUFFY SEASON 4 THOUGHTS AND REFLECTIONS

Okay I’ll start out by saying I LIKED IT. I ENJOYED MY TIME HERE OKAY. it’s BTVS. I FREAKING LOVE THIS SHOW!!!! However, I think my complaints are simular to what I had to say about last season, where the one off episodes were great but the over arching plot was a little UHHHHH. UHHH so let’s just go in chronological order shall we?

This season started off with BANGERS MAN. BANGERS. There was some episodes I kinda didn’t like early on (harsh light of day… too much sex!) but other then that, I’d say we had 10 episodes of straight BANGERS! Like seriously early season 4 was also some of the funniest BTVS I’ve ever seen? They really really hit their stride with comedy having the humor come from the situation and not the lame jokes. See now the show knows that we know it’s character well, and it knows exactly what kind of situation will subvert our expectations and be very hilarious. The “””bad parts”” of this season was about half way through when it really started to get into the main plot. When the Initiatives was first introduced I was actually kinda getting into it because I thought there was gonna be this whole thing where Riley and Buffy had to hide their identities from each other and also maybe Buffy wouldn’t know the Initiatives motives and they maybe thought she was a demon of some kind so they would be fighting without realizing they were on the same side and Buffy and Riley would date without knowing they were each others enemies. But they did this for like one episode. And then we learned everything about the Initiative instantly and they weren’t even cool at all they were just like a big gang of boot boys. Also I kinda liked Maggie Walsh as the main enemy person and it REALLY threw me off when Adam just killed her unceremoniously ??? After all her build up? And then Adam just kinda replaced her and he was the main villain?????? Did Maggie Walsh’s actor want to leave the show or something? I felt weird vibes from that sudden death and tbh the main plot never recovered. Anyway for that short period Faith was back that was really awesome, and I also liked a couple more episode in the later half but eh. Then the ending felt kind of lack luster just cuz I didn’t really care about Adam and never felt like he was that big of a threat for some reason (idk, giant franking stien monster who acts like evil jesus just isn’t really scary to me) so when he died and the collective went away I was like. Yeah okay whatever. Also Buffy going super saiyan by combining with all her friends to defeat the big bad was so cheesy that it was kinda awesome. And to end everything off weird dream sequence episode where we were I guess supposed to use our Freudian-like psychoanalyzation skills to deduce each of the characters insecurities, flaws and strengths. Anyway, at least at the end of the season, they kind of acknowledge the way that the gang had been drifting apart.

It was hard because they were intentionally putting strain on the Scoobies and that was also a big theme of the season. Like thinking back on earlier episodes, I remember Xander would just like show up on campus to eat lunch with everyone or it would cut to everyone chilling in his basement or AT LEAST Willow and Buffy having roomie vibes. But towards the end they never did any of that stuff :( one of the main issues I think is they didn’t have a centralized hang out spot. I really really miss the library, i know that Giles house was kinda a replacement and they spent a lot of time there, but it’s not the same. The library was like a neutral space where they could do demon hunting work but also just hang out in. They only go over to Giles place when there is something bad going on. Also everyone had their respect romantic partners that drove wedges between them, if unintentionally. Anya was a pretty bad offender of this, but I think Riley was the worstest. He didn’t mesh well with the whole group at all, and Buffy spent WAY too much time with him. Even Angel meshed better with the rest of the group!!! ANGEL! I think the thing is you got the sense that Angel cared about Buffy’s friends, at least because he understood they were important to her. He say that and he say them work as a team and he integrated accordingly and helped as he could. I’d be surprised if Riley even knew Xanders last name, or like even his first name for that matter. I feel like he barely gave a shat about the external forces in her life, he was just obsessed with her only and his stupid job. They put on blinders for each other and for a lot of scenes it was just the Riley and Buffy saga and I DID NOT CARE FOR IT!

So in conclusion I think on an episode to episode basis this season was very solid and had some episodes that were the funniest I’ve seen in the whole series. The first half was way better then the second half, and the overarching plot was pretty sloppy, all over the place and a bit boring and lackluster. I didn’t like how the Scoobies drifted apart and I hope that next season is a return to form in terms of group dynamic.

Anyway, my fav episodes:

Hush: number one all time fav of course of course, just like, so good on every level and I could go on and on but I’ll take a page from the episode book and not say more about it

Living conditions: I had assigned dorm mates when I was a freshman who I didn’t exactly mesh with, so this episode just felt so so real.

The Initiative: see this is when I thought the overarching plot was gonna be really good,,, but tbh it peak here. This episode was just kinda a riot and I think often about the scene where Spike tried to but Willow but he can’t cuz of the chip and they treat it like he’s got erectile dysfunction. It’s just too good.

Pangs: I KNOW. ITS BAD. BUFFY HAS TO MURDER NATIVE AMERICAN SPIRITS ON THANKSGIVING. BUT THE EPISODE IS LOWKEY SO SELF AWARE AND ITS SO BAD ITS NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT BUT ITS REALLY FUNNY

Something Blue: … Buffy and Spike in love… I laughed I’m sorry. Also just a good Willow episode me thinks

A New man: Ethan shenanigans and major Giles demon fail… LOL UPVOTE!

Who are you: I know this was a two parter but I thought the first part was kinda boring (sorry I know that episode has a lot of stans) anyway I thought the whole body swap thing was a great way to explore faiths character, literally putting her in Buffy’s shoes and making her see what it’s like to be the good girl. Also Sara Michelle Geller did a wonderful job acting as faith in Buffy’s body, not all actors can pull off the body swap thing (I should know, I’m a Star Trek fan) so I was very impressed.

New Moon Rising: you had me at Tara/Willow. Yeah

Lest favorite episodes: eh none of them really jump out at BAD some just weren’t as exciting as others. Just like any Initiative and Riley heavy episodes were kinda a snooze fest.

I won’t recap the character I’ve already talked about, but the Scoobies really did change a lot this season, I won’t say for better or for worse. They just changed in ways that are realistic to their new situations.

Anya: I know this doesn’t make any sense, but I don’t hate Anya, I just hate everything about her. Lol. No but for real like i said before, when she’s not talking about Xander I actually kinda like her. I think the very dry and blunt but completely uncaring about social cues thing can be very funny. BUT THEY DONT LET HER DO ANYTHING BUT BE XANDERS LAP DOG. All she does is talk about Xander Xander Xander and it makes both of their characters much much worse. I wish they would have switched the roles and had Xander really like her for some reason and her kinda not care much about him. Idk. Sigh. I wish Xander was gay

Tara: I LOVE YOU TARAAA!!!!!! I know i already said this but she reminds me of so many girls I went to school with so to me her presence is just so warm and comfy :) her and Willow are very sweet together and by the end of the season their relationship kinda became what I was most invested in

Spike: I’m pretty sure I haven’t wrote about spike in previous season reviews? But anyway I kinda love what they did with spike in this season, I mean really how can you not. He was just kinda their weird pathetic friend who actually wasn’t their friend and was still evil but everyone forgot cuz it was so hard to take him seriously. The writers wanted him to be a main character but also kinda didn’t know what to do with him every episode, so sometimes it would just be like “yo why’s spike the bus driver?” But tbh I kinda didn’t mind. His wet stray dog presence really added something and was always funny when you remember he was the big bad of season 2. Oh how the great have fallen.

Riley: yeah yeah our white bread red blooded boot boy all American nice guy. Completely doesn’t mesh with the vibe of the show and is way too boring. He’s so an Angel rebound, I’m sorry. Like I just KNOW that’s not Buffy’s type. It’s just not. But I already talked a lot about him so whatever.

So I just read your last Heads up seven up, and:

When i write one of my favorite parts is connecting things with small but important details. It's like creating a chain. And i see this part as something very simular.

“Maybe it is the curse of our family,” she mused, “that in our attempt to escape our own misery, we cast misery upon those we care about.”

Henry did this.

There's also a detail I won't spoil for others but that also connects here. (If you know you know)

(Full transparency, I don't know that much about the Alder king yet because Henry and Aiden have my heart and time, but if i were to guess that will also connect here)

BUT!

“Maybe”, Nyx continued. “if we would just work together instead of trying to solve all our problems alone, we could finally put an end to all that misery.”

Aiden stayed with Milan for years. Aiden went to look for his brother. Aiden has been doing what Nyx is saying here his whole life and this connection is why he's a great protagonist.

Or this is my interpretation, anywaysXD But even if I'm completely wrong, these elements do parallel echother, which is objectively great!

I also love leaving small hints in my writing and connecting details! It’s really fun! Sometimes I even leave little hints without even realizing it, cause I’m so much into this story xD

You connected the dots very well here! Henry did indeed just what Nyx said. So did you-know-who ;) And so did Nyx’s mother.

But it is also true that the Alderking did something quite similar. Cause in the very beginning, it all started with the wish to bring his family closer together again.

I’ve been drawing little parallels from Henry to the Alderking right from the start. Though wildly different characters with different motivations and stories, they do have stuff in common. And I’m not just meaning the fact that they almost look alike.

The thing about this story is that protagonists and antagonists are not as different as they seem.

(For example, if just one detail about Henry’s backstory would change, if he was raised by his father instead of his mother, he would be standing on the antagonist’s side instead.)

There’s a lot of motivations and wishes and pain that all these people have in common.

With what Nyx says in the excerpt, she does what we both like to do: she draws a parallel. Between her family and Aiden’s. Between their individual misery.

And she is calling out Aiden, too. And with him, herself. Because while what you said is right: Aiden did stay with his father and he did go to look for his brother, he still tried to do all of that alone.

Because that’s a thing in his family and it is one in that of Nyx, too. They each think that in order to solve their misery, they have to do something about it all alone.

The Alderking didn’t try to find a solution with his siblings, he found one for them instead, without even asking. Henry didn’t talk to Aiden about their situation, he took it in his own hands by leaving.

Morena didn’t ask her family what they really needed, she made an assumption and stuck to it. And Aiden didn’t ask for help when he needed it, he tried to handle everything alone and solve everyone’s problems because he couldn’t solve his own.

Nyx didn’t really ask for help either, she thought she alone could stop her mother. But at this point of the story, now that she saw all her mother did and now that she saved Aiden, she realized that she can’t do this all alone. Neither of them can.

So it’s not just a statement she makes when she says maybe if they work together they’ll make it right. It’s an offer. One to put differences aside and finally start working together.

Also, it’s her sympathizing not just with Aiden’s situation, but with that of Henry, too. It’s her encouragement for Aiden to forgive his brother. Just like she learned to forgive her sister.

Ngl when I first saw this I thought somebody was proposing modifications they thought killer whales should evolve to match with but differentiating two simular species is cool too.

🚨 A team of scientists, led by Phil Morin of NOAA, have published a new paper formally proposing two “new” species of killer whale: Bigg’s killer whales (Orcinus rectipinna) and resident killer whales (Orcinus ater).🚨

More than fifty years ago, researchers began studying the killer whales found off the west coast of North America. One keen-eyed scientist, Dr. Michael Bigg, noticed that there appeared to be two kinds of killer whales: a smaller, more gregarious form that fed on fish and a larger, stealthier type that fed on marine mammals. He and his colleagues dubbed the fish-eaters “resident” killer whales and the mammal-eaters “transient” killer whales (who were later renamed Bigg’s killer whales in his honor).

Many decades later, scientists have been hard at work trying to resolve whether or not these two forms are different species. It is not an easy task. This requires a thorough investigation into many factors, including evolutionary history, genetics, morphology, ecology, and behavior. In this paper, the researchers lay out all of the evidence and conclude that these two forms warrant elevation to species status.

As newly proposed species, both need new scientific names. There have been numerous killer whale species proposed and described in the past by other naturalists and researchers, including those in the North Pacific. Unfortunately, there are no type specimens— individual specimens upon which the first descriptions of a species are based—available for killer whales previously described from the North Pacific, so the researchers were left to examine drawings and illustrations of killer whales in the North Pacific in the late 1800s by Scammon and Cope.

The authors propose “Orcinus rectipinnus” for Bigg’s killer whales and “Orcinus ater” for resident killer whales. “Rectipinnus” presumably refers to tall dorsal fins, and “ater” means “black” or “dark” in Latin. Of note is the fact that a female killer whale from California originally examined and described by Scammon as “Orcinus rectipinnus” had seals in her stomach, suggesting she was a Bigg’s killer whale.

In addition, the authors note they are consulting with Indigenous tribes for a new common name for resident killer whales.

What’s next? In marine mammal biology, proposed taxonomic changes are reviewed by the Society for Marine Mammalogy’s taxonomy committee. If accepted, these species revisions become “official.” This has been an eagerly awaited paper by many in the field of killer whale biology and it is a great accomplishment, made possible by decades of research by scientists around the world.

Okay so I actually don't know a ton, I've only played Kiwami 1 and heard about the rest of the games a bit but I will tell you everything I know !!!!! (That is not spoilers)

So if you hadn't guessed, the Yakuza are a pretty big part of the game series, through from what I've heard later games a a bit less about them. I think they're decently widely known, but if you don't know what the Yakuza are, they're organized crime groups from Japan kinda like the Mafia. But still active and shit. I've seen a thing where somebody actually showed a member Yakuza one of the games and the guy said it was pretty realistic to how the actual Yakuza works and acts but that the main character, Kiryu, dresses like shit (intentional) and that he got into an absurd amount of fights (it's mostly a fighting game so. I think that's a very excusable inaccuracy lol).

The guy you play as at least in the first games is Kiryu Kazuma. He was orphaned as a child and raised by a Patriarch of the Tojo Clan, Kazama (very simular names but they are not related). Patriarchs in the Yakuza run their own families in their clans and can have smaller patriarchs above them. For instance, before Events, the Kazama family was under the Dojima family.

Kiwami 1, which is on of the games most people start with Kiryu being 27, then going to jail for a decade for a murder he didn't commit but took the blame for to protect his really close friends. When he gets out, the Tojo clan is a wreck and one of his friends turned is super unwell and eeeevillllll and the other is missing and a suspect in a massive crime. You spend the game trying to figure out what's going on, beating the shit out of people who are mad at you for the murder you didn't commit, protecting a girl you found in the streets who is now essentially your daughter, trying not to get scammed, being confused by modern technology and the changes in the world since you were in prison, and getting jump by My Favorite Character!!!!!!! Goro Majima!!!!!!!!

Majima is a freak and is obsessed with Kiryu and I think you would really like him too!!!! He is possessive and violent and spends all of his free time watching Kiryu and trying to plan ways to suprise Kiryu and get him to fight him!!!! I love Majima!!!!!!!! There's and entier mechanic in the game called the Majima Everywhere system where he's!! Everywhere!!!! And may attack you at any given moment in a wonder variety of ways!!!! Also he crossdresses!!!!!

Now, I don't know as much about the other games, but I know that Yakuza 0 is a split story that takes place before Kiwami 1 and is about both Kiryu and Majima and about how Majima turned his freak up and about how... Kiryu is being accused of murder again?? Bro can't catch a break. Anyway, they don't know each other until the end of 0, they've really only heard of each other and apparently have some shared finances.

I think the rest of the games focus around Kiryu trying to avoid the Yakuza because he's tired of that bs but the Yakuza being like "Nooooooo Kiryuuuuuuuuu helllpppppppppp you're so good at punching people so hard they die pleaseeeeee come back and punch these people so hard they dieeeeeeeee." And then there's also a guy named Ichiban bar and grill and I think he might be a main character in later games. I don’t know a lot about him but I think he is very beautiful and it is likely I will fall madly in love with him when I finally get to the games he's in.

There's also a lot of cool stuff in the Yakuza game series like mini games! such as karaoke (kiryu is the guy who sings the Dame Dane song if you've heard of it), baseball, billiards, darts, horny card fighting, tiny race car racing, bowling, and claw machines (at least in Kiwami 1). They're also really cool about sex work! And queerness! And it's so fun!

I really recommend playing it if you are able c: It's on the Xbox (free with game pass) and $20 on steam!! Maybe other places too idk. If you have any questions or ever want to vc and watch someone play it hmu !!!!!!!!

Idk if you take requests or not but if you do then in some weird altenet uneverse where when fyodor wrote sigma into the book he didn't know he created two people who are basically twins i don't know what gender or what to name to use for sigma's twin and I don't know if you've seen avengers age of ultron but i feel like the twins has a simular situation to what wanda and pietro had where they are kinda in captive of the group of people in the desert where sigma's twin ends up being killed by the people infront of sigma and sigma's twin probably had the same kind of personality as pietro maximoff in age of ultron like probably apearing out of nowhere only like 5 minutes before sigma and is the older twin and more overprotective which is what gets them killed infront of sigma and when sigma later joins the DoA he dosn't mention his twin because he feels like they don't need to know about them since they are dead and it pains sigma to talk about them since he watched them get killed infront of him and all but later when sigma is now part of the detective agency and is on a misson with dazai where they end up saving two todlers looking like they are about 3-4 years old who are twins and while dazai makes sure there are no more of whatever bad people tried to hurt the children are left sigma takes care of the twins and when dazai comes back they kinda has a moment simular to in WandaVision where wanda says "i'm a twin, i had a brother, his name was... Pietro" but i don't know what gender sigma's twin should have or what name but i feel like if sigma says something like that finally starting to open up about what happened to his twin which i think would make dazai slightly shoked i'm not sure how he'd react so i'll let you decide i just thought it would be a sad but intresting au

MINI OC RAMBLE

Okokok so if you have followed my account (insta) since like 2020 you'll notice that I have a moth character that was a bnha oc, but then I decided to try and take those ocs and turn them into another story bc I wasn't really into bnha. I like both stories but i still wanna have a super hero related story line SO.

I'm diving the character into two versions kinda like I did with Oliver, Oliver is basically almost the same as my other oc Markus but I put them in different stories. So I'm doing the same thing for alto.

New alto (still named alto but with cool last name like mothman or mthman) will be a being that can pass between the funky in-between realm and the real world bc he's the son of the moth man, who is a cryptid and they need to spook ppl for buisness. He'll mainly be white/pink colored based and more extroverted. Story line is late highschool (aka scenior year)/possibly college?? Idk haven't decided yet lol.

The other alto (now renamed to harry beckner, aeren may be changed in the future) will take the place of the super hero story line with my other ocs oliver and koto (also meaning he'll take place in the same ships) and my villain ocs like paper cut man and no super power but very smort Russian man lol. He'll also be mostly blue and white with small pink highlights because I liked his original bnha design! Basically story in a nut shell is a young hero group comes together after high-school to prove you don't need high established things or good grades to help people.

This is kinda a note to self but also a note to anyone else who's confused why there's two somewhat simular looking ocs and one who use to have older name is now different lol.

I thought I could just separate the two and say that one was just a fan au for bnha reasons, while the fantasy world story line was the true place for the ocs even though some peeps like koto didn't fit (and that's what I originally did) but it gor way to convoluted and confusing oop, at least for me to keep track of. Plus the idea of a super hero story line grew on me after watching invincible so yeah!
