I like how he's not actually forcing anything on her. He seems to agree that it's not a good idea; but also, according to his principles, he's going to let Emily make the final decision. He wants to convince her to listen to reason, but he's also not going to force her to listen to him, and isn't going to let anyone else do it, either. And Atom respects that, however begrudgingly, because even if she's making a bad choice, the Blue Knight ultimately isn't wrong, here. It's interesting. I never really got a feel for nuance in the English version (tho tbf it's been fuckin years since I actually binged that while mooching off my brother's Netflix account lol).

#Neg watches Astro Boy 2003 #I'm a little sleep deprived so I'm probably just reading too much into a children's cartoon; as per the norm #tho since it IS astro boy; it probably DOES have a lot of nuance worked into it. child-friendly but takes serious topics; well; Seriously #anyways this is the Best One imo.#oh wait actually I forgot I've never watched PLUTO yet. granted I hate that arc in the OG manga so... idk lmao #the 2003 one did it alright I feel like. like ig why the original is the way it is but since I like Everything about the 03 version better-#than any other version I suppose I might just be biased. it's for sure a hell of a lot softer and kinder than other versions #but I think that it really has that going for it; it's... cozy; I suppose; in a way that no other version can be #so it feels... a little better absorbed; I think. idk. all of that was lost in the dub anyways.
