it baffles me how creators can do early access/paywalls bc like??? how are you that confident in your cc and that people will pay for it???? oh wait. i know why. because the very nature of the sims 4 is MONEY MONEY MONEY. EA is like you want a pack of 5 industrial themed build items?? that’ll be 7$ CAD. You want an expansion pack that literally doesn’t function at all? sorry you’ll have to fork over $40 whole ass dollars (that’s like $60 after taxes in canada, btw). so OF COURSE people are willing to give these creators money for making cc THAT THEY CAN LITERALLY LEARN HOW TO MAKE THEMSELVES in blender. The creators are emulating what EA is doing and it seems to be working very well for them (the numbers some people get on patreon are more than I’ll ever see in my life) and the consumers??? they do what consumers do. eat that shit up. it’s shocking to me, someone who has always had to be careful with their money, how people can just make indiscriminate purchases without researching what or who their money is going into beforehand.

It’s literally like this weird toxic relationship. People are so used to being scammed by EA that they think it’s normal to have to pay for mods. MODS. Please branch away from the sims community and play another game, then come back and tell me how paying for mods (or even doing early access) is normal or acceptable.
