i feel like when i was playing diablo 3 i did not give tyrael - and the nephalem's endless self confidence - enough credit for making the story feel just a tiny bit less like a grim pointless slog. bc i am most of the way thru diablo 4 and i gotta say i am ready to see everyone wiped out.

also like, i know the reddit gamer contingent hated leah but diablo 3 at least made me feel a feeling a few times, cheesy as it it was. most if my feelings for this story are "why am i the chew toy in this demon family drama" and also "the fucking gall of locking season rewards behind a paywall i hope the activision c suite all die"

I do not regret grinding waaaay too many candles for the Prince Sword Suit in Sky Children of the Light. It makes my Sky Child look very sophisticated and dapper, it's yellow which none of the other f2p outfits I got so far are, and it comes with a sword! Heck yea, swords!

Also that was the first full season I was part of and apparently, the end cosmetics of crossover seasons like this one (Which was a collab with The Little Prince) can't be collected after the season's over (unlike every normal one I played afterwards). So really lucked out on that lol.

Wouldn't do that again tho, this was back when candle prices were still halfway affordable for f2p. Been a while since I played Sky and one of the main reasons is how much you gotta grind just to get boring looking cosmetics (if at all), while all the even remotely cool stuff is locked behind paywalls.

Otherwise, the Splatoon Golden Toothpick. I GOT that one! After a bazillion tries of getting ruthlessly murdered by a total cheater Agent 3! And it looks cool! And it's proof I'm not a complete Splatoon noob! Heck yea!

more stories in historical settings! (not just in fantasy or romance) (i am still excited for the royal masquerade tho)

more honest conversations about the experiences of poc/lgbt+/characters with disabilities (there are some scenes like this and they’re so good! i’d love to see more of that)

different faces! (i know the art team is working so hard but i hate the open heart faces, hopefully pb will find a way to make it work without overloading the artists because again they work so hard!!)

more reasonable diamond options (i know pb needs to make money and they deserve to! but some choices just aren’t worth 20+ diamonds, especially when there are so many back-to-back)

like i get that the microtransactions are the source of revenue for the developers and honestly if i find the game engaging i will consider paying for it just because i tend to pay for all other games i have and i see no reason to treat mobile game devs differently, my issue if more that in plot-heavy games, which contrary to the ideas from 2dn video have to keep player coming for longer, the paywalls are forced to appear more frequently and be more immersion-breaking, either the way Episodes do it where the game is divided in tiny chunks to pay for each installment [if something since the last year i checked it changed then idk] or Choices where clearly more 'better' choices, getting to kiss your crush or, more infuriating, the actual end of the story, has to be paid with in-game currency. i guess Time Princess does it slightly better because they replaced the choice paywall with grind, so in theory, you can focus on the story without thinking about microtransactions until you realize the next story chapter is locked behind suit you haven't crafted yet and have no stamina and materials left but you can go to the in-game shop and buy a crafting pack just for 4,99$ thinking oh well at least im not paying for a pixel dress or drawing of a hot anime person as it is with all other gotcha games...

It’s rlly unnerving it’s rlly disconcerting like that’s why I don’t watch the fan encounters or conventions I can’t understand how it is so normalized to be openly horny and aggressive right in front of the object of yr affection who yeah happens to be a celeb.
