Highlights of Green Lantern: Sleepers book one
Hal is, albeit in an old timey way, lowkey implied to be gay via his deflections when Ganthet asks why he didn’t take up any girls’ offers of a night together
Hal daps up a random kid (although I could wrong in my interpretation of what a “soul clasp” is)
Alan Scott asks Kyle if he’s using protection with Jenny-Lynn
Hal tries to kill himself for what is in-book the 15th suicide attempt, but this time via laying down on train tracks. A fox (God) saves him
Limp Bizkit is referenced
Dinah uses her canary cry to bring down a rainstorm on a forest fire by using a frequency that would cause raindrops to coalesce and become heavy enough to fall (crazy creative use of that power)
Kyle has a panic attack because he finds Jenny-Lynn’s pregnancy test (they did not, in fact, use protection, as the narration is so kind to point out)
After that, he says to Jenny-Lynn he’s “going to get milk” but instead he immediately flees to Saturn (classic absentee dad moment)
Sinestro convinces a guy who seems to be the BBEG to hate Green Lanterns by implying that they molest(?) kids from third world countries
That guy (Eddie) describes Sinestro as looking like a “Pixar creature”
Jade has been canonically hit on by Donald Trump. This book was published in 2004.
The way you hail a cab on Qward is by doing the Hitler salute
When Jenny asks the taxi cab driver who she should pay, the cab driver says, “The service is provided by the Qwardians, qomrade.” Yeah. Qomrade.
As two “Weaponers” are about to capture Jenny, she notices “in passing” that they have no nipples. Very interesting priorities, there.
Kyle considers committing genocide, but is stopped by his conscience, which sounds like Hal Jordan so much that Kyle initially mistakes it for Hal telepathically whispering to him
In Oliver’s narration, he says that Hal seemed to have lost a lot of his personality after having become the Spectre
Plastic Man “greatly admires” Two Face
Wonder Woman has given Plastic Man a crash course in physics
Eel apparently thinks he stands no chance against fighting Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman
Eel asks Hal, the Spectre, why he’s “dressed like a hobo” (which is particularly funny to me because of my fic)
Hal sings “Don’t worry, be happy”
Eel thinks of Hal as being the most “enigmatic” of the League, unlike Batman, who “let you know right off whether he liked you or not”
Hal asks Eel if he would pray to Superman

Songs and bands that I think belong in Fallout
Most of these are heavy metal or rock! So be prepared :)
*"Let's Hang Together" - by Twin Temple. (This band is described as Satanic doo wop and their tune and vibe matches Fallout perfectly. Older sounding music but with a darker vibe.)
*The album called "Hail the Apocalypse" - by the band Avatar. This album has a couple of apocalypse related songs. This album (And the band) really reminds me of the perk Wild Wasteland. The apocalypse is a dangerous and brooding place, but there's a certain level of wackiness and uneasiness to it all. Kind of like a Freak Show.
Smells Like a Freak Show is actually the name of a song on another Avatar album. It also makes me think of Fallout, mainly raiders. The album is called the Black Waltz. The song "Smells Like a Freakshow" Makes me think of The Pack in Nuka World lol
*Every single one of Bon Jovi's songs. Every single one, especially the album "Slippery When Wet."
*Iron Maiden. I really enjoy how they sing about history, war, folklore, stories, etc. All of their songs are incredible, but some of them really fit the Fallout vibes. The song "When The Wild Wind Blows" Is a very emotional and moving song about the end of the world. The world ends in that song by nukes, just like in fallout. Even if you don't like metal I still suggest reading the lyrics, Iron maiden has some incredible story telling.
*Megadeth! They have numerous songs about the apocalypse, how much war sucks, and how the government is terrible. Perfectly fitting for Fallout. Just prepare yourself for the lead singers voice lol
*Black Sabbath - One of the founding fathers of rock. A lot of their songs protest war and the government. Their song "War Pigs" is fitting for fallout's world, along with many others.
*The rest of the "Unholy Trinity" and founding fathers of heavy metal. Led Zepplin and Deep purple.
*Maybe other classic rock bands and singers, like Kansas, Aeorsmith, Heart, Rolling stones, Cheap Trick, and Motley Crue. But these bands are getting awfully close to the divorced dad rock category so always keep that in mind.
*Dangerous Toys (A lot of the rock bands/hairbands that took a more humorous turn really remind me of Fallout. A few Dangerous Toys songs remind me of the radio host "Redeye" from Nuka World's raider radio. Mainly the songs "Gimme' No Lip" and "Teas'n Pleas'n"
*I really want to say Slipknot and Nu metal as a whole. I know Slipknot, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Deftones and System of A Down don't fit Fallout as well as some of the other bands and songs. But the idea of hearing "Break Stuff" While out in the wastes is very entertaining to me.
*Metallica (Just their vibes and sound feel so right for the universe of fallout. Their songs are often about struggles and intense emotions like despair and grief.
*Maybe bands that are nuclear apocalypse and similar themed. Like Nuclear Assault, Municipal Waste, and many more.
*This is more of a headcanon: I love the idea of Pre-bombs Fallout having a large punk/hardcore scene, and lots and lots of Hippies. Just so many people out there doing drugs/chems, living life, protesting war and writing music.
These are just some of the bands that I think would fit into Fallout! If you think I left something out then comment the band/singer! If you have any thoughts/headcanons please share those as well!!

Could I possibly get some headcanons for what type of music Vash, Nick, and Knives would listen to in a modern au?
If not thats totally fine! Thank you so much!
I hope I wrote this well since a lot of bands and artists can fall under a variety of genres.
Vash
Psychedelic rock is a genre he's not afraid to admit liking and listening to. MGMT, Tame Impala, Pink Floyd, etc. He typically likes to hum along and even sway his body to the beat, oftentimes just flat out dancing to the rhythm if it's a song or band that he can get really get into.
Alternative/Indie rock is another good genre for him. His top five might include Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine, Two Door Cinema Club, Chase Atlantic, and possibly Teflon Sega. Not only do a lot of the ones he listens to sound amazing, but some songs just feel good after a stressful day.
Alternative/Indie pop, but he's picky about this genre. Lana Del Rey, Twenty One Pilots, and Blink-182 are just a few that he'll listen to. He's open for recommendations with this genre, though.
Synthwave is his JAM. It's his go-to genre for literally doing any sort of chore around the house. Kavinsky, Trevor Something, Mr. Kitty, and Wayfloe. He may also listen to such songs when trying to sleep, as they have an easy way of relaxing him.
Anything classical, but that's really only because his brother likes it. He's not really picky with any pieces belonging to this genre, but he does tend to listen to the softer, less intense ones. Sometimes he'll play a piece, whether it be on his own piano or from an app on his phone, and just think about Knives and how he's doing at the moment.
Knives
He's very into the classical genre, so anything from Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, and Puccini can and will be heard in his home. He'd much rather play the pieces himself than to use an app to listen to them, however, he'll elect to use the app if he doesn't have any intentions to play them himself.
Classic pop, which he's honestly very picky about. He leans more towards artists that are similar to Frank Sinatra, and of course he listens to Michael BublĂŠ.
Synthwave, but only because Vash had it playing when he visited. He didn't care much for the genre, at first, but it grew on him. Only listens to Kavinsky and Wayfloe, though. Might seem stubborn to broaden this genre, but he's just picky.
Alternative/indie. Only listens to Florence + The Machine, Lana Del Rey, and Fleurie. Such powerful and captivating voices will always grace his ears for as long as he lives. Not that anyone would know he listens to them.
Industrial metal, but no one will ever know. His favorites from the genre are Rammstein, Oomph!, Celldweller, and Nine Inch Nails. He once heard Vash play an Oomph song and got scared, thinking his brother knew about it.
Wolfwood
Alternative just oozes out of this man. Bands/artists such as Muse, Sub Urban, My Chemical Romance, Green Day, ThxSoMch, etcetera, are what he will be listening to. Will even sing along to the song if he's feeling it, and that happens a lot.
Not opposed to rock or heavy metal. Metallica, Slipknot, Korn, Tool, even Ghost are bands he'll listen to. He likes the volume loud a lot, however, he'll make exceptions for when people visit him.
Rap rock bands such as Hollywood Undead, Linkin Park, and Limp Bizkit are also thrown into the mix. Listens to it during chores because he says it "energizes" him. Will most definitely sing along to every song.
Electropop, yeah, he likes it. Anything similar to Graveyardguy, Slayyyter, Night Club, and Ayesha Erotica he likes. Vash doesn't like riding in the car with him ever since he played Emo Boy with a smirk. Kidding, since the blond suggests similar songs for car rides now.
Metalcore, but he only ever listens to this genre when he's in a certain mood. Usually a bad one, but he thinks listening to bands like Bring Me the Horizon, Bullet for My Valentine, All That Remains, and Of Mice & Men will cancel out his bad moods. It's become a tell of his that lets everyone know how he's feeling without saying.

some of my music-related EMH headcanons because i feel bad and want to share it.
VINNY:
Vinny loves post-punk and goth music, like Joy Division, The Cure, Swans, The Fall, Depeche Mode and New Order. But when he gets asked to put something he likes on, he puts something like Prodigy or Infected Mushroom on, to look cool and not to "bore" his friends. And because he genuinely likes those as well.
___
Also i cannot NOT project my own coping mechanisms on emh characters, so i think (before the events unfolding, while Jessa is still alive and everything is normal) that boys like to meet up and share music AND their feelings in the format of : "This is how I feel : *Numb by Linkin Park starts playing*".
JEFF:
Jeff feels overwhelmed at his hospital job, feeling that he is responsible for everyone and everything, so most of the time when he doesn't have to work with patients, he wears headphones to ease his mind a bit, usually listening to something rhythmic (+1 point if the track doesn't have any words).
Jeff would be such a fan of Twenty One Pilots. This band is so him coded.
___
I think that Jeff and Evan would bond over their love for AJJ (again, im projecting, I KNOW). But Jeff would like the deeper details of the lyrics, and Evan would be like, "yo thats fire" because of the interesting sound.
EVAN :
I think that Evan has a Walkman cassette player, and he prefers cassettes to CD's, because "they sound worse".
And the glove box in his car is filled with checks and old bills, and cassettes that don't match their package, for example, an AC/DC cassette in a Metallica case, etc.
imo im convinced that Evan would be a huge lover of nu metal, im talking ALL OF IT. im talking Limp Bizkit, im talking Papa Roach, im talking Slipknot, Linkin Park, Skillet, KoĐŻn. Every time he gets a chance to get a record, he would spend his last money just to headbang to new edgy song while driving home.
And OF COURSE he would like Gorillaz. I think it should be canon, it's so obvious.
___
I think about Evan and his taste in music like this scene in Scott Piligrim where Ramona has unnecessary amount of different teas.
"-What do you like to listen?"
"-Let's see... We have classical rock, punk rock, hard rock, rock and roll, heavy metal, industrial, nu metal, alternate, metalcore, electropunk, funk metal, new rave, and... Indie"
HABIT :
Evan can't stand MCR (i know it's a hot take, i know), but HABIT loves them, especially when he gets to rearrange and clean his weapons, humming along while putting on a show, like twirling knives in the air or threatening an imaginary opponent.
If talking about my favorite purple bastard, I think it's really for music to get stuck in his head, and sometimes it can result in pretty hilarious (although still horrifying if you know the context) things, for example him throwing out the "trash" *wink wink* and not noticing how he sings something he had heard on the radio.
Just imagine HABIT humming ABBA or some 2010 white girl music. This brings me so much joy, you have no idea.
STEPH:
I think Steph would hide her preferences, until she feels safe enough to share some of the music she likes, and if a person she shares it with likes it as well, she would spend hours and hours talking about every little detail in lyric and sound and how it all has A DEEPER MEANING! She would be right, tho.
I'm convinced there was a situation where she gave an Evanescence cd to Evan with "this reminds me of u" written on the cover. I don't make the rules.
She probably writes some lyrics she really liked "to put them into her art later" only to forget about it.

WILT 8/3/2024
spotify//youtube
and get this. song notes under cut
Limp Bizkit - No Sex: ahaha the funny bizkit band!!!!! except this song speaks deeply to some Themes 😐<-the seriouser. pretty sure i've talked about this one in past WILTs but it just continues to strike me as unusual to hear fred like this on significant other. it's such a shameful song, definitely with some large doses of deflection and passing the blame to the woman he's addressing in the lyrics, but it connects on a base emotional level that fred rarely operated on at this point in bizkit hiztory, and an emotional level which i operate on every day of my life. this is in my top 3 lb songs
Jerk - I Hate People Like That: whenever i'm listening to this song, it's the best song in the world. i discovered this through the "crazy-ass moments in nu metal history" instagram page and loved the live video (the singer looks so cool!!) but hearing the studio version for the first time was the real jaw-dropper. recommend the whole album, some of the crunchiest, tastiest, most australian industrial i've ever heard
Deftones - Lotion: FINALLY entering my deftones era with lots of around the fur. lotion came on shuffle whilst i was mightily zooted one day and i decided that this was, in fact, the best song ever. the little vocal riff in the chorus? wild. plus ngl i do feel sickened
Fabricoh - Arm the Left: what a cool hardcore band :)
Coal Chamber - Fiend: idrc about coal chamber that much but this shit bumps
Klokwise - Bounce With This: as i believe i mentioned, this is one of my current favorite tracks from a newer nu metal band. hype as fuck, good riff, lots of bouncing. one thing i like best about klokwise is that they have a catchphrase. fucking brilliant way to build a community around your band. people can just say WISE UP and if you're with it then you immediately know what's up
Faith No More - Jizzlobber: speaking of themes and topics. i have been getting more into fnm due to reasons beyond my control and well frankly they are so bangers. "banger" doesn't really cover this one though this is straight up freak shit those vocals are crazyyyy
Cradle Of Thorns - Flesh: before videodrone was videodrone they were a strange little diy industrial outfit that made some independently-released records throughout the 90s. i've much yet to explore from the back catalog but this is a jam that's a combination of sexy and nasty and funny. included in the youtube playlist is footage of ty what's-his-name flailing and screeching like a wet little loser faggot boy
Kendrick Lamar - Not Like Us: i followed the beef from about the midpoint to the conclusion and i'm still marveling at how thoroughly kendrick lamar put that man in the dirt. and made some bangers along the way, this shit is in my head everyday
Faith No More - Digging the Grave: the singing so good. that's all i really have for this one rn, this is the newest addition to the rotation
Boskat - Boiler: honestly rudeboy really deserves most of the credit for this, like yeah boskat came up with a catchy riff but otherwise it's like barely their song. plus i checked out some of their other shit and it's mid as hell. really good nu revival track but seems like a total fluke unforch. plus idk why they shied away from just saying "dick" like grow up
Joey Valence & Brae - Packapunch: been bumping some jvb recently, which is where some of the beastie posting has been coming from. i'm a little cynical about some of their new stuff like ohhhh yeah i bet you want to add nu jazz and breakcore and w/e to your sound yeah i bet your online-as-fuck audience eats that shit up. but then also i'm part of that audience and i kind of do. so i guess they've got me there. plus danny brown! i'm serious about the beastie girls thing btw
Blondie - Rapture: another legitimate claim for the title of first-ever rap rock song! which is crazy bc it comes out of nowhere. like wow this blondie song is good in the way that most blondie songs are g- hey wait what. i love new wave and art punk and other stuff too. plus debbie harry's voice sounds realllll sexy when she sings the song title
P. O. D. - School of Hard Knocks: from little nicky. it's nu memtal
Insane Clown Posse - Hum Drum Boogie: oh goody! anyway me + the crew have been jamming this album recently and this song is so funny. MY BALLS
Charli XCX - Guess featuring Billie Eilish: i like girls :) this track strikes me as like a modern take on the paradigm of older club hits where there's like a male rapper who's the main artist and a female singer who's featured and does the hook and through the lyrics the narrative of performance is that they're gonna fuck down on each other. this is that but instead of pitbull or whoever it's billie eilish. and well that's kind of awesome. becuase of lesbian sex
Natalie Portman - Natalie's Rap: i don't give a fuckkkk about snl but i love when women rap and i love when it's violent on purpose
Chris Korda - Save the Planet, Kill Yourself: i got obsessed with the church of euthanasia recently after reading a bunch about the unabomber and that led me to chris korda's music which admittedly is not something i would give a fuck about if not for everything else going on with her. i would have added "i like to watch" instead of this but for some strange reason that i just can't fathom it doesn't seem to be widely available anywhere. weird!
Insane Clown Posse - I'm Ugly: actually awful song but soooo fucking funny. and then it gets kind of hard at the end and i stand by that
BONUS TRACK!
Trapt - These Walls: fuck these guys and their shitty band but also this song is kind of real as fuck....... like yeah man i would trade everything for this. however this was almost certainly purely incidental as all their songs sound like they were made in a lab

in the high school au, you talk a lot about Bucky loving Nicki Minaj, what are some of the others favorites? Songs/artists?
Screaming about music is my fav 🗣️🗣️ I’ll link what I have for MOTA playlists here!!! (Friend me on Airbuds here!)
•Bubbles LOVES Weezer. He’s so annoying about it too, Buddy Holly has to be on every playlist. His favorite song is Undone.
•Croz tells him he looks like a virgin when it’s only Weezer showing up on his Airbuds.
•The Blue Album is banned during any of Croz’s pregnancies.
•Bubbles and Croz both share a deep rooted love for Fall Out Boy, especially early day fob. Bubbles would actually die for Infinity on High or From Under the Corktree.
•Everett’s favorite song is Monster by Kanye West with Roman Holiday by Nicki Minaj coming in at a close second. (Roman Holiday is John’s favorite Nicki song too)
•Benny likes a lot of 90s grunge/butt rock. He dabbles in a lot of 2015-2019 rap. Losing My Religion by REM is definitely his favorite song. His top three favorite bands are Green Day, Limp Bizkit, and Nirvana. (Benny's playlist)
•Gale LOVES Mitski, Fiona Apple, and Kate Bush. No one likes Mitski the way Gale likes Mitski. Similar to @ihearteugeneroe , Gale’s life was ruined the day Running Up That Hill had a resurgence on TikTok.
Tumblr media
•Dougie is in a similar music boat to Everett and John. They’re the Nicki Minaj/Ice Spice/Pinkpanthress girls. He would listen to Kanye West, let’s be real. He listens to SOME country music like Luke Bryant, Shania Twain, and a lot of fiddle playing country. He did grow up on a ranch after all..
•Brady is a Swiftie through and through. But Daddy I Love Him is his favorite song, although before ttpd came out it was either This Love or Getaway Car. He fought tooth and nail to get tickets to both night one AND two for Denver. He made him and Ham outfits for the show. Night one, they both dress up as Speak Now. (Ham is purely being dragged along for this.) night two, they did Midnight.
•Ham has an interesting music taste to say the least…he likes Suicide Boys, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi, Bones. I could go on for Ham, eventually I will make him a playlist!
•Rosie listens to a lot of big band/jazz music. He just really likes the saxophone. If you get into Rosie’s car it’s all going to be organized big band or jazz playing. Benny starts doing karaoke to it, he picks lyrics from a song that sound similar, they don’t and sings.
•Ken listens to a lot of everything, his favorites are Mac Miller, Deftones, and One Direction. Currently one of Ken’s favorite songs though has to be One Of Your Girls by Troye Sivan.
•Curt likes loves Ghost and no one likes Ghost the way Curt likes Ghost. Especially as he gets older he’s more and more into Ghost. His favorite song by them is Rats.
•other than, Ghost Curt also listens to a lot of Mac Miller, Blackbear, Deftones, and whatever John’s hyper fixated on at the moment.
•Lmk if you’d guys like more and want to see specific character playlists!!!

MUSIC RELATED HCs FOR THE CAST!!
Xander - when he sings, he sounds like Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day faking a British accent on American Idiot
Veronika - she loves metal, but her favorite subgenre is death metal. she’s also very well versed in the lore of Mayhem
Ace - if you ask him what he’s listening to he will name something hardcore, but he’s actually listening to a very pop-centric playlist comprised of exclusively female artists
Hu - besides listening to a lot of music with the zither, she also enjoys soft jazz and very old classical tunes because she thinks they’re relaxing. she can also play the piano.
Eden - she’s a huge swiftie. she’s not very open or direct about it, but she secretly follows a lot of Taylor Swift related pages and blogs, and is constantly listening to her music
Arturo - I think he definitely has a thing for women like Doja Cat and Nikki Minaj. you’d probably catch him simping in the comments of their instagram posts
Min - only listens to classical music because it’s proven to make you the most intellectually stimulated out of any genre. she also has a lot of a superiority complex regarding this.
J - she is a huge rock & metal fan, and really likes to listen to ‘cool’ stuff. her favorite bands are Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park. she’s also tried to learn guitar and although she hasn’t stuck with it, she owns an electric guitar and can play simple songs.
Levi - listens to prime dad rock. a lot of this is early rock and roll, but surprisingly a lot of this also contains 90s alt and Weezer.
Rose - even if she’s not fixated on a task, she’s always looping one of those 2hr study lofi videos on YouTube, just for background noise. she just finds it very soothing and it helps her escape from reality.
Nico - they don’t listen to music much, but when they do, it’s at the lowest setting. They started to get into music a bit more after meeting Hu, and they really like soft instruments pieces
Charles - he genuinely does not listen to music and knows almost nothing about it. he doesn’t like sharing this so if anyone ever asks him about his music taste, he always says his favorite artist is Frank Sinatra to try and impress them
David - he actually likes jazz a lot and is not a bad singer at all. he doesn’t like to sing, but sometimes he will break out into song in the shower, wether it be jazz or a darker song. he also knows how to play piano.
Teruko - knows nothing about music, but she tries to blend in by listening to trending artists and trending audios online, regardless if she likes the song or not
Arei - she loves to do karaoke, but she’s completely delusional about being good. she’s absolutely terrible, but it’s fun for her to sing and it’s fun for her audience to watch her try and rock a Lady Gaga song
Whit - his entire taste is white trash 2000s pop music, and he will defend his taste with his life. he’s also watched Britney Spears’s music video for ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ a zillion times on YouTube and liked it on 64752567 alt accounts

kuwtu parents drunk karaoke night. guest list and organizer is whoever is funniest. you may choose to elaborate on various contributing factors (levels of comfort, singing ability, inebriation, desire to be present, and songs and drinks of choice) regarding each participant so much or so little as you desire
one thing about lorillee she will be thinking about drunk karaoke night.
ino and sai organize (mostly ino). guest list and general info:
ino- very comfortable to be singing in front of other people, pretty good but not knock out of the park good (she thinks she is though and sai agrees), very encouraging about bringing other people up to sing with her if they're nervous/reluctant
sai- not great on account of his monotony, but his duet with ino is cute because she's obviously very grandiose and excited with it and sai is more lowkey but if you know him you can tell he's having just as much fun as she is. was a bit uncertain at the idea at first but ino was very encouraging and excited about it.
sakura- gung-ho. not a good singer. keeps it chill at the start, goes harder the drunker she gets. shows up in a bad mood (as she often is) but by the end she's having the time of her life.
sasuke- ino tells sakura DO NOT BRING THAT DEAD WEIGHT OF A HUSBAND!!!! you deserve some time to let loose!!! but sasuke still shows up for some reason. he doesnt say anything he just sits at the back and makes everyone sort of uncomfortable until they eventually forget he's there. disappears midway through the night.
temari- reluctant to make a fool of herself. ino has to drag her up. only does one song, starts out very reserved but is belting by the end. very average singer. drinks enough to let loose a little, but she's responsible.
shikamaru- very light drinker because he prefers to keep his wits about him. came because he does enjoy spending time with everyone and doesn't NOT want to see his friends singing shitty songs, but is reluctant to make a fool of himself and has no desire to participate. ino and chouji drag him up and sing with enough spirit for the three of them (shikamaru never takes his hands out of his pockets the whole time he's on stage). he's not really trying in order to spare his ego, but it sort of sounds like he could be secretly good. is he secretly good??? we don't know. ino would like to know. shikamaru sing another one PLEASE how about this song, you love this song! but he says nope. that's all you're getting out of me.
hinata- very nervous but desperately wants to participate. drinks a lot because that's the only way she can get over her nerves. has a lot of fun. pretty terrible singer.
naruto- gung-ho. fucking loves it. sucks ass at singing but he's not gonna let that stop him. drinks probably too much. disappears midway through the night.
chouji (karui does not go because she fucking hates sasuke and naruto both)- eager to have fun and willing to make a fool of himself and more importantly of shikamaru, but also takes his solo very very seriously
some of the songs/who sings with who (more or less in this order)
ino (solo) - since u been gone by kelly clarkson
sakura and naruto - eye of the tiger by survivor
chouji (solo) - my way by frank sinatra
ino and sai - purple rain by prince (yes, all 8 minutes)
naruto and hinata - i want it that way by the backstreet boys
ino, chouji, shikamaru - happy together by the turtles
chouji and naruto - baby one more time (britney spears)
ino and temari - gimme gimme gimme (a man after midnight) by abba
hinata, sakura, ino- before he cheats by carrie underwood
sakura (solo) - break stuff by limp bizkit

A long post wherein I recount my experience at a Limp Bizkit show and get increasingly emotional about the power of live shows and their resulting memories as a coping mechanism for deep depression.
Wednesday night was honestly the most fun I've had in several years. It was full of childlike glee and giddiness and excitement. And sweat. Lots of sweat. I knew that I'd have a blast, having already seen them back in 2012, but this time Limp Bizkit put on one of the best, engaging live shows I've ever seen. It was a big, bouncing nu-metal party and the atmosphere was electric. Everyone in attendance was there to have a good time. No fighting, no dickheads, no munted macho bullshit, just roughly 1000 people ready to party like it's still 1999.
The opening act was HANABIE., an all-female Japanese "metalcore" band, but calling them metalcore feels reductive because they incorporate so many different elements into their sound (electronica/hip-hop/punk/nu-metal as well as Harajuku culture). I really want to gush about them but I'd just end up regurgitating the entire wikipedia article. Their energy was so contagious and the crowd was equally keen and receptive. There was even a circle pit during We Love Sweets which I couldn't help but join. I got a gentle accidental elbow in the face, and slipped on some empty drink cans but got picked up immediately. In a matter of thirty minutes I was already drenched and forming my first bruises.
As for Limp Bizkit, I've been writing and deleting and re-writing and re-deleting this paragraph since Thursday morning. I can't find the words. From a distance, watching myself get all emotional about this band in particular is actually hilarious. My thoughts are so muddled but I've realised that I've been so touched by this concert because they made me feel like a kid again. I've been lucky enough to see some of my other all-time favourite bands live - highly regarded and renowned performers, but I wasn't listening to Nine Inch Nails or The Fall or Radiohead when I was eight years old, so they can't evoke the same emotions.
I fangirled and flapped when Wes came on stage and as soon as they opened with My Generation, I was overcome with such a powerful, innocent euphoria that kept me jumping and screaming all night long. I'm struggling to describe it because I didn't think I was capable of feeling that sort of natural high ever again - I thought I had destroyed my capacity for pure pleasure through drug use in my 20s. Yet here I was, utterly jubilant and energetic, one row back from the barrier directly in front of possibly my favourite guitarist of all time. Fred chatted a lot with the crowd (I uncharacteristically gushed and giggled like a school girl when he was talking to us down the front), and a surprising amount of mens underwear got thrown on stage. They did a fun transition from Rollin' into Raw Hide, covered Killing In The Name, did a big sing-along of Careless Whisper, and even played Re-Arranged which was a nice surprise. I would have loved for them to play Out Of Style, but I understand people want to hear the old stuff. The atmosphere was non-stop fun from the opening note until the end of Don't You Forget About Me which they play as they leave the stage.
I had been hoping to have some sort of acknowledgement or interaction with Wes, like catching one of the roses that he throws into the audience. Given that I was at the front, I took a shot during a quiet moment between songs and yelled out "Hey Wes, wish Alie [his fiancee] a late happy birthday from me!" and he walked straight over to me and threw me his pick! Achievement unlocked! I reacted like a QTE and almost burst into tears when I realised I caught it. Almost. I didn't want to fuck up my fancy makeup and contact lenses. As my partner pointed out, most of the roses had been torn to shreds by the end of the show, but I got a personalised treasure to hold on to. I've kept it close to me ever since (and played my own guitars with it, naturally). It's like he gave me a little talisman of hope and happiness and I really need something like that right now. December is always a hard time of year for me. On top of that, I've been feeling so incredibly bleak about the future and sometimes find myself making certain plans in the back of my mind. But this silly little bit of plastic with a picture of Lisa Vanderpump with a beer bong labelled Borland/Wes' Baphomet logo on it makes me feel like I can keep going. Like I want to keep going in spite of my fear and my pain. I almost feel a tongue-in-cheek sense of resentment, like, "how dare one of my favourite musicians inspire some sense of hope in me during such a tough time?"
Someone filmed the entire show and I am eternally grateful to them. I can giggle at my own distinctive cheering early in the set. I can watch Fred's playful shenanigans with the front row. I can see my interaction with Wes. I can remember. There are times when it feels like the last ounce of hope has left your body, and it causes you to forget. You no longer feel capable of caring, so you simply forget how much you love music and comedy and every other little thing that makes life worth living. That's why I have a big folder sleeve filled with physical memories that I can turn to, full of ticket stubs and entry wristbands and the like so I have something tangible to tie back to my experiences. I've got some drumsticks and a NIN setlist as well. Having the means of reliving those moments is an invaluable tool when fighting major depressive episodes. I will sit there and carefully examine each piece and something will stir inside of me. It could be the faintest echo of a feeling, but it will come, and it will remind me that life is worth fighting for.

I love motionless in white so much. They're gonna play the entirety of Reincarnate from start to finish for their setlist apparently. Which! Is okay! Reincarnate is one of their two albums that actually have songs that I skip of theirs (the other album is Creatures).
The songs I don't like are Puppets 3 (the worst of the puppets trilogy), Contemptress/Sinematic/Wasp (too horny. I hate it. Please don't talk about your penis anymore. It makes me suicidal.), and Generation Lost (it sounds like Limp Bizkit. Fun fact! Limp Bizkit is my LEAST FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME. I genuinely DESPISE Limp Bizkit.)
Actually, now that I think about it. Maria Brink (lead singer of In This Moment) sings in both Contemptress and Wasp. So if she shows up in concert I will be SO happy.

"What kind of music do you 2 like. Were your parents restrictive about the type of music you'd be allowed to hear like samurai or limp bizkit?"
Harley "I love independent and Hispanic music, mostly electric and jazz kind of music"
Tether "I like punk rock, ska, latĂn rock and literally any other style of music, parent Zooble show me a lot of how to compose and use a lot of instruments, Coiom once in a while sings whatever I'm playing some instrument, he is cool... I'm a little embarrassed for kidnapped him the other day actually"
Harley "oh yeah I forget about that... oh and about the ban music... well mama let me hear any music but once in a while the music Stops with [#$ಠ益ಠ!%] sound"
Tether "how did you do that?"
Harley "oh, uncle Jax teach me how, hear closely"
Gangle in the background began to run to stop them.

fav song gaaame - share some of your favorite songs right now thankbs @lealdog for tagging me <3 CHIHIRO by Billie Eilish - there's only a few songs i like from her new album but this melodically hits so well and i love how high it's written. the runs are also very satisfying. lyrically fun to sing along with and the rhyme is well done but i'm just here for the music honestly The Summoning by Sleep Token - not a day goes by where i wish more of their repertoire was like this song. it's long as balls but i don't even notice it. vocals are sick. high notes are delicious and the singer's vibrato is delicious. fantastic lyrically as well. edgy but i like that. reminds me of my own very dark sad depressed teenage 'poetry' (we all know i'm still like this except i'm almost 40) absolute fucking masterpiece i wish i could dissolve this song in water and drink it Colors by Solar - kpop mention but make it extremely gay. this is a deep house song and the MV had vogueing and queers in it. if i went to the club this would be what i'd dance to. lyrically a masterpiece. no further explanation needed
Sugar bomb by ME:I - rare jpop mention since almost none of what i like to listen to is on spotify. i've missed overly sweet pop in my playlist and this one really scratches that itch. lyrically it's what you'd expect but i love the way they play with spelling and random english
Empire Now by Hozier - ah yes my musical hyperfixation. i don't think i'll ever be over him. my fav part of this song is the sliding western guitar and the full octave raise. his falsetto is sickening and i need to spread it on toast and devour it. also the only artist whose lyrics make my briefs quake. bravo, andrew liMOusIne (feat. AURORA) by Bring Me The Horizon - not much on their new album that hits right but this sounds exactly like Deftones so i like it. some parts of it sounds like 2000s limp bizkit and that also tickles me bc i was a nu-metal teen. not paying attention to the lyrics bc its bmth lmao Graveyard Whistling by Nothing But Thieves - this singer could sing the phonebook to me and i'd love it. that said this song is lyrically so heart wrenching to someone like me who struggles with letting things go and then as if that wasn't enough the melody and instrumental make me ascend. vocal techniques are impeccable once again and i love the grandiose feel of the last chorus. undoubtedly a song that would make me bawl if i ever saw it live
And finally, Sedated by Hozier - here he is again, fuckin andrew. like i said, this guy makes me insane both lyrically and vocally and if i could make love to his voice i would. listening to his music feels like ur horny but also crying profusely and by god, ur enjoying every minute of it. the lyrics of this song make me reconsider quitting my antidepressants (affectionate) and then the fucking composition of it musically??? he weaves musical motifs like a wizard and i want to apprentice myself to him at all costs. andrew meet me in the parking lot after work we need to talk about how you need to accept my soul as payment for your tutelage. be my patron i'll be your warlock andrew i beg you
tagging @jauffre show us all the sad girl (gendy nooch) songs you've been into lately

The song I decided to analyze is Crack Addict by nü metal band Limp Bizkit. This song was initially supposed to be released as part of their fourth studio album, Results May Vary. However, the band never officially released this song, and it was only used as the theme song for WrestleMania XIX, where they performed this song, along with Rollin’, with Korn’s guitarist, Brian “Head” Welch. At this time, the band consisted of Fred Durst on vocals, Sam Rivers on bass, DJ Lethal on the turntables and samples, John Otto on the drums, and Mike Smith of Snot, replacing Wes Borland on guitar.
Crack Addict follows an ABCABCDECF format. The song opens with an intro that highlights DJ Lethal’s sampling of Spoonie Gee’s 1979 single, Spoonin’ Rap, over Mike Smith’s open guitar chords and John Otto playing quarter notes on a closed hat with a kick and a crash every four measures, ending with a fill that consists of the kick and snare over a very brief guitar riff which leads right into the first verse. Here, we see a continuation of the drum pattern used in the A section and an expansion of Mike Smith’s intro riff with Fred Durst rapping about fighting, rioting, and bragging about how cool he is. The verse ends with a drawn-out guitar chord with a brief return to the quarter note hate, except this time they are open.
The chorus contains heavy chords, fast and impactful drums, record scratches, and Fred Durst screaming about fighting someone. After the chorus, the song returns to the A section before starting the second verse.
The second verse is very similar to the first, both in style and lyrical content. One thing that really stands out to me in this verse is the reference to the names of Limp Bizkit’s previous three albums. A return to the chorus then follows this verse.
The bridge highlights Sam Rivers’ bass playing over hip-hop-esque drums. Fred’s vocals switch from rapping and screaming to traditional singing. The pre-chorus continues the instrumental of the bridge but then switches to a heavier sound, similar to the chorus. During this section, Fred gives context to why the song is titled “Crack Addict” because he is “addicted to crackin’ skulls when punks start static.” The song then returns to the chorus and ends with a brief outro that is filled with rest notes on every other beat.
The only gripe I have with this song, and Limp Bizkit during this time, is that it lost its original feel. With the departure of Wes Borland came a departure of a key part of their signature sound. Wes added a unique take on guitar riffs that could only be equaled by someone like Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine.  While Mike Smith does an amazing job at keeping the energy that characterized nü metal, it just doesn’t feel like the iconic Limp Bizkit that dominated the late 90s and early 2000s with Three Dollar Bill, Y’all, Significant Other, and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.
Overall, Crack Addict is a fantastic record that encapsulates the spirit of nü metal but doesn’t feel like it was made by the “nü metal giant” that is Limp Bizkit.

Four forty am and I felt the urge to write. Nineteen? Days with no instagram. It is important for me to note inside my brain 🧠 that this is for me. This is a reset for me.
I haven't taken many pictures of myself either. Which is good for the ego, I say. I don't really want to over analyze myself or my look anymore. I want to want me again.
I've stopped worrying about others and their thoughts because I have too many of my own to consider.
My cat 🐈‍⬛️ has been my savior lately. He's been great emotional support for me. The sound of my keyboard today is satisfying.
I've been thinking of fall a lot lately. Anticipation fills my brain. I miss my turtle necks and the cool air.
I'm highly satisfied that the White Sox beating the Yankees 2/3 games. One of our friends is a sore losing yank fan, who's probably never been to New York a day in his life. 🤭 I don't even need to talk shit because them winning is all there needs to be.
I'm grateful to be alive today. Another day I have woke from sleep. Another day, I will try and look for the signs of communication from the universe ✨️, from my guides. I have to have the same faith in myself that it has in me.
Recently I've been watching a lot more live TV 📺. Usually, when I am cooking or going to bed. There are a lot of medicine 💊 commercials. And I can't help but think--- are we that sick? I mean, there is a prescription pill for EVERYTHING. Then I can't help buy feel how much my body loves me, and how much I feel it is impossible to take care of it will all the posion that floats around no matter if labeled "healthy" there's always some catch. But I have been much more mindful of the things I subject it to. On top of those commercials, there are a competing amount of beauty commercials to run alongside those.
I always thank the universe that I never got into makeup. I'm one of those girls who hasn't ever worn make-up, so it looks off when I do 🤭. My long natural nails are all I need to make me feel most like a beautiful woman. 😍
I've been singing the song 🎵 EAT YOU ALIVE by Limp Bizkit in my head since I've woken up, even laying on the pillow with my eyes closed, you know --- .
So that's today's vibe, the tone, the mood.
Enjoy the day and celebrate 🍾 baby 🤘🖤✨️
I ❤️ you.

about Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit
Like imagine Eric Cartman from Southpark singing it. I feel like it would sound nice if it was made already. Like him singing it and the music being perfectly layered below it
