#my art #warrior nun #wn fanart #avatrice #still set in:#au where they get to go home and take a nap at the end of s2 #Ig I felt bad I drew a fluffy snuggling scene and still didn’t let poor B rest #my painting ‘sunshade’ is structured around a visual pun #(cause people call B a ‘sunshine protector’ and funny if more literal)#but what makes avt so good is how A coaxes B out of the protector role and A is given space to not always be sunny #the sunshine protector/knight-princess dynamic is exhausting for both parties (which is why JC/ Ava doesn’t work)#so here’s the natural follow up #couldn’t think of a good pun for the caption though. feeling insane about the deep dream extra again. I like to make jokes about shen qingqiu seeing binghe hugging his corpse and deciding to fuck that man to qi deviation, but when I think about the emotions communicated in that moment it's so much more. shen qingqiu just got insight into a moment he wasn't around for, when binghe was grieving him so terribly, when binghe still didn't have answers for sqq's actions, when he kept reenacting a moment of nonsexual physical intimacy that left such a profound effect on his psyche

and shen qingqiu obviously can't change what happened in the past, but what he can do upon waking up is kiss binghe, press his hand to his beating heart, affirm (out loud!! a big deal for shen qingqiu!!!) that he wants him -- communicating with his actions that "I was gone then, but I'm here now, I'm alive, I won't be leaving, I love you and want you even when it hurts"

#svsss #him pressing his hand to his heart is really what gets me #there's so much else going on that it's easy to brush over #but coming out of a dream where binghe was cradling his corpse for five years straight #it feels like a reassurance that he's there and he's alive #he's warm and breathing in binghe's arms and he's there by choice because he loves binghe so much #there's something so special to me about sqq seeing all the sides to binghe #the parts of him that are offputting or mean or ugly #and still loving him so completely #loving him like there's no question. how could he not love luo binghe?#anyway. augh. ough. taking bingqiu damage #i hate this series why does it get me to analyze characters and themes through sex scenes

#we are #we are the series #we are series #tanfang #aou thanaboon #aouboom #boom tharatorn #my edits #weareedit #AOUBOOM MAIN LEADS WHEN???#i do appreciate them and the way they’ve been portraying tanfang #i know tan was a bit over the top 99% of the time #but every scene and touch felt so genuine #and i’m not gonna credit that to new #bc he wasn’t able to direct ppw in a way that didn’t make their kisses look a bit awkward #i know scenes have to look aesthetically pleasing in some way #and that’s why we keep having to deal the ‘no one would kiss with this much space for jesus between each other’ complaints #but like look at aouboom here #this is mostly them and their acting choices in my humble opinion #and don’t get me started on the pecks #ppw BARELY touched the other one’s lips when they had to do a peck kiss #like cmon the difference between ppw and aouboom pecks is insane #i’m sorry for picking on ppw but i’m a bit sad that some of their romantic scenes were a bit lackluster #especially that very last kiss which tbh i rather wouldn’t have seen bc it felt a bit awkward to me #but that may be just me #i need new to get a bit more frisky with kiss scenes when it comes to his directing #bc i feel like friskier kiss scenes only happen when the actors mostly do their thing after finding out what the director wants #(maybe i’m completely wrong about new but tkdkfdkddkdk)#and don’t get me wrong idgaf if there are kisses or not but if there’s a kiss scene you should commit instead of holding yourself back idk #and ppw definitely need a better director to help them achieve that bc jojo was definitely better at directing them

Despite these being obvious parallels, I love how they're still very different scenes. This is how you parallel right. To show progression and/or how two different characters handle the same/a simmiliar situation.

We've already discussed how Stolas tends to shut down and struggle more inwards, so his scene is him just calmly sitting down on the stairs and blankly staring at nothing.

Compared to Blitz's scene, who we've discussed is more prome to show his struggles outwards through anger and agression, so he literally screams up into the sky.

The part in The Thief where Gen is tired and intentionally slides off the horse stumbles into and out of a ditch and then just face plants and falls asleep. (I didn’t quite capture all the flailing stumbling motions I imagined while reading it, but I think I got close enough)
