tumblr users who are otherwise good about being skeptical that the utterly defenseless and voiceless would be effectively protected by the systems we have in place want so badly to believe that animal abuse simply does not happen, and if it does it gets caught right away, and that laws and regulations around it both qualify things we would find horrific as "abuse" and are reliably enforced and everything is just completely fine and good, they will fully and uncritically believe that the very first person who confidently says what they want to hear is surely honest and unbiased and has a complete and representative picture of the global situation
like. I'm not claiming to have done extensive research in this area. But I didn't have to do very much to find very recent stories of the horrific conditions animals used for testing have been found to be in. using sentient creatures as commodities is just always going to be rife with abuse-- is inherently abusive and should be treated like the tragedy it is, one to be minimized wherever possible and hopefully, someday, with enough progress, avoided entirely.
just like, god, remembering dairyisntscary and the way everyone on this website sucked them off every time they posted about how cows in the dairy industry are all healthy and happy and treated wonderfully and I mean really we're doing them a favor and it's just great all the time, pay no attention to the actual industry-standard practices and all the laws preventing activists from recording video footage of factory farms, I'm sure that doesn't mean anything, it's fine

#my art#furry#anthro#monster#dragon#oc#not my own but nevertheless#these characters are all lots of fun....thank you everyone for giving me cool guys to draw#also BIG things coming (said for the sixth time over the course of the year)#anyway i went apple picking for the last time this year recently which pretty much brings scrumping season to an end#here's a review: blackberries EARLY. annoyingly early but they were okay. greengages amazing. brings a tear to my eye#cherries SUCKED. cherries do better next year. grapes i'm still harvesting actually but doing well. sweet#and apples kind of popped off!!! year of the ugly apple this year - the beautiful red ones were worse than the scabruous pimply brown ones#which were crisp and had thin skin and a beautiful sweet-mellow-nutty taste...wonderful

By physically eating it. I now imagine that ael taking the astral tadpole will be where emps finds out that ael actually has been-#straight up eating them this entire time and he was NOT exaggerating when he told it that he'll eat the one as a compromise#empy gets a guy that is genuinely madly in love with him BUT he's also probably the most embarrassing guy for an illithid to fall for

I planned on going to bed early as a celebration, but then I looked at my unfinished pf of Siffrin in the sketchbook and boom couple of hours of sketching, lining and coloring and the beans are now officially paper figured
I can now randomly take photos of them in a forest whenever I feel like it. I have couple pfs on me every day just in case of this happening

Reading loz/lu fics and it's just so interesting how wide the spectrum is of their personalities.
Sometimes it's got an in universe reason (different past (usually gender or species change), recent or ongoing traumatic events, a spectacularly bad first meeting), but sometimes (often) the characters are just... Weirdly angsty or peppy, there's no in between!
And I'm beginning to think less people have played more than one game than I thought XD.
Not that it's anyone's fault! One game is more than enough to be part of it all, and loz is exclusive to Nintendo consoles - and all the older stuff is frustratingly hard to get hold of. Heck, I'm still looking for wind waker, and that was really popular! And then you have to play it! They're not small games!!
But could people writing wild please ease off just a tiiiiiny bit so he can be a semi functional member of society pretty please XD? He's just as much a polite boy as any other member of the chain! He won't even run in shops! He can't attack npcs! He talks to every single person he's ever seen and remembers every single name. Yes, he's three quarters woodland creature with a hefty amount of trauma but he's also a fashionista who managed to avoid accidentally taking sides in a mayoral election and that's not easy!

I got sidetracked with those stones in the BG lol#Rock textures are still very fun ahh I can't help myself#The whole thing is extra! The web-cloth needed to contrast against her skin so I needed the directional lighting so I needed the background#Every step needed the next! It was decently fun tho#Not in small part of getting to look at some Acanthoscurria Geniculata <3#Funny actually haha; my step-sister went to the zoo recently and there was That Specific Species of tarantula there!#She took a picture for me :) Cute#Pretty spider <3 And pretty drider!#I'm still very normal about Lady!Scriabin >.> And backs lol they're fun to draw!#You'll notice under the webbing she's wearing a similar top to what I drew Classic!Drider Scriabin in that one time#This one's a halter-top tho :) Leather halter top haha#I think it breaks up the shapes nicely :D#And her little urticating hairs poking through the webbing hehe ♪ She's very cute!
