The thing that really sucks about triggers is how unpredictable they can be. I honestly never anticipated this, and every time I experienced an emotional flashback or whatever, I never recognized it as a trigger because I didn't know what to look for. I think so many (including myself) have or had a homogenized idea of what triggers are, what they're allowed to be, and what they look like, and it's doing us all such a great disservice. Triggers are very much an individual experience, and the things that can be triggers are highly personal, or contextual, or might not "make sense" to those outside the person experiencing the trigger.

What I always want people to do is to be mindful of the things that spark the sense of "being back," or, in essence, a trigger. This is because when you start learning more about triggers, you can often start to learn how to identify triggering environments and how to go about being triggered. This is often an individual process simply because there isn't a "right" way to go about trauma and/or triggers, but I think it's a better outlook.

i’m seeing quite a few people say that season 3’s buildup in eps 1-5 was useless and the ending was rushed and idk am i stupid for thinking the opposite?

the biggest thing young royals suffers from is its runtime; six ~50 min episodes is not enough to capture a cohesive arc for all of the main characters each season, but even with the lack of some things that should’ve happened i’ve still come to appreciate it more for the things that do happen. there are so many shows out there with longer runtimes that don’t even deliver half of the plot and character development that this show does. or maybe i’m just being a ‘blind fan’.

i’ve stood by my opinions—and by no means do i think the show is perfect—but now i’m starting to wonder if i’m foolish for being able to overlook a lot of the things people criticize. anyone get where i’m coming from?

what scene in isat was the most disturbing/unsettling to you?

aaaa i’ve got. a lot of answers to this actually! there’s a lot of moments that really Stuck with me. i think using the broken glass in act 5 and just about every scene involving the dagger were prolly the scenes that disturbed me the most. the latter of which wasn’t helped by the fact that my game crashed right after i used the dagger for the first time and left me staring at a black screen for like 2 minutes. until i reopened the game. probably didn’t help.

you are loved is also up there for probably obvious reasons. it’s just a really good moment i think!! don’t have much to say!
