newjeans headcanons to when ur sick/unwell 🫶🫶 i really adore ur writing so much! but dont feel pressured to write this suggestion :)) i reqlly hope your having a great day and i hope for many great ones to come.
under the weather
— ☘︎ fluffy headcanons
pairing: newjeans members x female reader
synopsis: how each newjeans member would react when you're sick and feeling unwell.
warning: just too much cuteness, really! :((
a/n: hey guys, im finishing up other requests tomorrow. this was the first request saurr i worked on it first. ive got some drafts im not happy with (so re-writing them) if u have any requests let me know! but bear with me—i have exams!
— kim minji
minji is the type to immediately notice when you’re not feeling well.
she’ll place her hand on your forehead, gently tucking your hair behind your ear as her brows furrow with concern.
“why didn’t you tell me earlier, baby? you’re burning up.”
minji would insist on taking care of you the entire day.
she’ll make you soup, even if she’s not the best cook, just because it’s something warm for you.
you’d hear her asking google how to make the perfect tea for sore throats or colds.
she’s naturally nurturing, always nearby with a soft blanket, making sure you're warm but not too hot, gently adjusting your pillow.
she’d also have her calm, patient smile on, trying to reassure you, even though you can tell she’s a little worried.
she’ll hum quietly while cuddling you, making sure you get the rest you need, checking in with soft whispers like, “does this feel better, love?” or “i’m right here if you need anything.”
— pham hanni
hanni will panic for like, two seconds, and then immediately jump into action.
she’ll text you, “don’t move!! i’m coming over!!” and show up at your door with way too many things – snacks, cough drops, drinks, and possibly some of the cutest plushies you’ve ever seen.
she’s the type to watch funny movies with you because laughter is the best medicine, right?
hanni’s focus would be on keeping you entertained and distracted from the fact that you’re feeling awful.
she’d wrap herself up in a blanket like a burrito and say, “look, if you’re sick, then i’m sick too. we suffer together.”
expect her to crack jokes, make goofy faces, and maybe do a little silly dance, anything to make you smile through the discomfort.
she’ll hold your hand whenever you’re not feeling great, squeezing it tight and assuring you that you’ll get better soon.
— danielle marsh
danielle will go above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable and smiling.
she’s got that sweet, caring energy that feels like sunshine, so being around her would feel so comforting.
she’d take one look at you and go, “oh no, my poor baby!”
before immediately wrapping you up in the coziest hug.
danielle would come over with a bag full of wellness goodies—think vitamins, fresh fruit, and some herbal teas that her mom probably recommended.
but, she wouldn’t stop there.
danielle would sit beside you, making sure you have water nearby and taking your temperature like a little nurse.
she’d read to you, tell you stories, and probably come up with silly scenarios to make you giggle.
“i know you’re sick right now, but you know what? i’m here to make sure you get better in the cutest way possible!”
she’d offer a shoulder massage or gently rub your back as you rest.
just being with her would make you feel instantly at ease, like you’re already healing just from her presence.
— kang haerin
haerin might not be the most vocal, but she shows her love through actions, and her quiet support would be so soothing when you’re unwell.
she’d notice you feeling off right away and probably wouldn’t say much, but she’d hover around, checking up on you constantly.
she’s the type to sit beside you and just stay close, not overwhelming you with questions but making sure you know she’s there.
she’ll bring you a cool washcloth for your forehead or your favorite drink without even asking, like she already knows what you need before you do.
if you’re too tired to talk, haerin would just hold your hand, her thumb brushing over your knuckles in slow, comforting strokes.
there’s something about her presence that feels calming, like she’s a grounding force when everything else feels off.
haerin would definitely put on some calming music, or better yet, hum softly as she brushes your hair away from your face.
she won’t leave your side, and even though she’s not saying much, you can feel how much she cares.
—lee hyein
hyein would be the most eager to take care of you.
she’ll probably rush to the store to get all kinds of things for you—medicine, soup, snacks, and maybe even some cute little gifts to cheer you up.
she’s very hands-on and would want to help you feel better immediately.
“don’t worry, i got this! you just lay there and look cute.” hyein would say, flashing that confident grin of hers.
she’s the type to bundle you up in blankets, but she’s also a little bit of a tease, so she’ll jokingly smother you in the covers and go, “stay wrapped up like a burrito so you can sweat out the sickness!”
you’ll catch her running around, trying to fix everything at once, even if it’s just making sure the pillows are fluffed or you have the perfect temperature drink by your side.
but the moment you look up at her with those puppy-dog eyes because you’re tired or feeling extra unwell, she’ll soften instantly, sitting by your side and stroking your cheek.
“i got you, babe. just rest, i’ll be here the whole time.”
she’ll make it a point to stick by you, even if it means staying up until she’s sure you’re sleeping peacefully.
a/n: good night 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔..

Serendipity: Chapter 1 - Papa Emeritus IV x Fem!Reader
Summary: On a Halloween night, you, along with Terzo and his family, head to the Ministry for an annual ball to celebrate this beloved day. On this occasion, you have the chance to meet Terzo's brothers, whom you've heard about for so long: Primo, Secondo, and most notably, the current Papa Emeritus, Copia.
Words: 7.811
A/N: Happy Halloween! After 30 days of The Ministry Kinktober, I thought it'd be fun to start a new series with Copia, this time casting him in the role of Papa Emeritus IV. I hope you all find it enjoyable.
Available on AO3
Chapter 2
Day 1: The Halloween ball.
Not too long ago, you had taken on the role of a nanny for Terzo's family, a job that might have seemed traditional but had turned into something quite extraordinary. It was a simple job, as you saw it, but it held a unique charm. You didn't need what people would call a "proper job." You had found an opportunity and embraced it with open arms.
Your life with Terzo, Angèle, and little Andras had begun when you first met them. The revelation that a Papa could marry and have children had initially surprised you, but as the months passed, you grew to understand why.
Terzo, was the former Papa Emeritus III, he had retired from his role but retained his title, akin to a seasoned veteran who continued to bear the honor of his past. He belonged to a unique religious group, far from the conventional churches that prayed to God and Saints. It was a Satanic Ministry.
Terzo had been apprehensive that you would run away upon learning the truth, but why would you? You saw no harm in their beliefs, and they were a joyful, healthy, and loving family. It was just one more facet of their lives, like an extra spice that enhanced the flavor of your experience, which may not have made much sense to outsiders, but to you, it was just an intriguing facet of their lives. You wouldn't judge them for it.
Over time, you had naturally learned more about their religion, not because they imposed it on you, but because you had an open mind and a willingness to listen. They always made sure you were comfortable with the information they shared, never pushing you into anything that might make you uncomfortable. However, what had truly piqued your interest was when you heard about the existence of Ghouls, and your excitement had reached peak levels when you finally met Dewdrop, one of the oldest Ghouls of the Ministry.
As you became closer to the family, Angèle shared pictures of their life in the Ministry, including images of Terzo's brothers. Primo, the eldest, had a commanding presence during his time as a Papa, but Angèle assured you he was a kind soul. Secondo, just three months older than Terzo, always wore an intimidating frown and had an impeccable sense of style.
And then, there was Copia, the current Papa Emeritus of the ministry and the new leader of Ghost. From the pictures Angèle showed you, Copia seemed to have it all. His handsome features and warm smile made your heart race, and the sight of him holding little Andras in a nursery photo nearly brought you to tears; it was the cutest thing you had ever seen.
But, circling back to the present, tonight was Halloween night, and you, Terzo, Angèle, and Andras were en route to the Ministry, all dressed in your costumes. The creative family had chosen to embody the Addams Family, while you, wanting to fit in somehow, had opted for a nun costume. In hindsight, it might not have been the best choice for a gathering at a satanic Ministry, but it was too late to change now.
As you got closer to the ministry, a wave of apprehension washed over you. You had grown accustomed to Terzo's family and their satanic customs, but tonight was different, and you weren't entirely sure what to expect, especially in the company of his brothers. In your heart, you knew your role was that of a nanny and nothing more. Yet, a part of you yearned to connect with the people you would meet tonight, especially since Terzo would be spending a week within the Ministry starting by today. He had explained that this was an opportunity to address some important matters with the clergy and to provide guidance to his brother, Copia, in his new role, alongside Primo and Secondo.
Also, you couldn't deny that you were feeling a bit nervous about meeting Copia in person. You hoped he lived up to the handsome figure he cut in the pictures Angèle had shared with you.
"We are almost there, Papa," Dewdrop's voice snapped you out of your thoughts, and you blinked, refocusing your attention on the road ahead. You glanced at the rearview mirror, where you could see Andras peacefully asleep in Angèle's arms. Terzo sat beside her, his hand resting gently on her leg. It was unusual for Terzo not to be the one behind the wheel, but tonight, given the formal nature of the ministry's event, Dewdrop had been assigned to chauffeur you all in one of the ministry's official cars.
A smile tugged at your lips as you admired the loving scene before you. Then, you turned your gaze to the Ghoul seated right beside you. "You didn't want to put on a costume for today, Dewdrop?" you asked playfully.
Dewdrop chuckled and replied, "I don't think I need one."
You couldn't help but giggle at his response. "Well, that's true. You are already in the Halloween spirit every day. I thought you would have convinced him to dress up as Lurch," you said as you turned your face to Terzo.
Terzo rolled his eyes in mock exasperation. "Ho tentato," he said with a grin, "but he refused. Apparently, driving a car for us today is already pushing the boundaries of his Ghoul image."
Dewdrop nodded with a smirk. "I have to maintain my Ghoul dignity, Papa."
As the car made a slight turn, you laid eyes on an old building that resembled a church. It bore a striking resemblance to the other churches you had seen before, but there was something uniquely captivating about it. The building was grand, situated on a sprawling piece of land adorned with a beautiful garden. It left you in awe, and your eyes sparkled with amazement as you took in the sight.
The car continued its way until it came to a stop in front of the large building. A group of Ghouls, more than you were accustomed to, had gathered by the entrance and swiftly approached the car. This was the first time you had seen so many of them at once; you were typically only in the company of Dewdrop.
"We are here," Dewdrop announced.
"Grazie, Dewdrop, for bringing us here today."
The Ghouls opened the car doors for Terzo and Angèle, who wasted no time in stepping out. However, you remained seated inside, gazing forward. Dewdrop reached out and gently touched your arm.
"Is something wrong?" he inquired.
You shook your head. "No, I'm just a little nervous, I guess."
Dewdrop reassured you with a warm smile. "There's no need to be nervous. Everything will be fine. Come with me, and you'll be fine."
He opened his door, then walked to your side, opening your door as well. You took Andra's bag and stepped out, and he closed the door behind you. Dewdrop offered you his arm, and you took it gratefully, feeling a sense of comfort in his presence.
Glancing over at Terzo and Angèle, who were already waiting by the front door, you and Dewdrop made your way to join them. Two of the Ghouls opened the grand entrance, allowing Terzo to enter first, followed by Angèle, who held Andras in her arms. You followed closely behind them, hand in arm with Dewdrop, taking in the vastness of the ministry. It exceeded your expectations in size and grandeur. The Halloween decorations added a whimsical touch to the solemn atmosphere, and the faint strains of music drifted to your ears from a distance. A sense of excitement and anticipation bubbled within you as you stepped further into the ministry, eager to immerse yourself in the evening's festivities.
"Dear," Angèle's voice reached your ear as you walked alongside Dewdrop.
"Yes, miss?" you responded, instinctively using a formal title.
"I already told you, you can call me by my name," Angèle chided gently. "Can you hold him for me?"
"I'm sorry, mi- Angèle," you corrected yourself and reached out to take Andras into your arms, handling him with care.
Terzo flashed you a warm smile, and they continued to make their way toward the music. You returned to Dewdrop's side, walking alongside him as the music grew louder, guiding you to a room with its doors wide open. A Ghoul approached and led the way, with Terzo and Angèle following closely behind.
"Papa Emeritus III, Terzo, and his beloved wife, Angèle, have arrived," the Ghoul announced at the door.
Terzo and Angèle entered the room, and you and Dewdrop followed suit. The sight that greeted you was nothing short of incredible. The room was filled with people, dancing, conversing, and enjoying themselves to the fullest. The colorful lights on the ceiling illuminated the space in a mesmerizing display. Halloween decorations adorned the room, and the lively disco music filled the air, creating an atmosphere that was positively infectious.
Dewdrop turned to you, placing his hand on your shoulder. "So, what do you think of all this?"
You couldn't contain your excitement as you looked around, taking in the grandeur of the event. "It's stunning! The ball is so grand, and there are so many people... I don't have words to describe it."
Dewdrop reached out and gently placed a hand on your lower back, leaning in closer to your ear. "I need to leave you now. I have to be around the ministry with the other Ghouls. Promise me you'll have fun, okay?"
You nodded, smiling at Dewdrop as he departed the room to attend to his duties. Your attention turned to Terzo and Angèle, who had moved farther away from you. Adjusting Andras in your arms as he began to wake up, you smiled down at the little one.
"Hello there, little one," you cooed, gently brushing your fingers across Andras's soft cheek. He responded with a radiant smile, accompanied by a symphony of baby sounds.
You made your way over to Terzo and his wife, who were standing near one of the tables adorned with a small paper sign that read "Papas." As you approached, someone came up behind you, and Terzo turned to face the newcomer.
"Fratello!" Terzo exclaimed, opening his arms and walking toward the person. "Where is your costume?"
Turning to see who it was, you found Secondo, one of Terzo's brothers, dressed in a very elegant dark green suit that emphasized all the curves and lines of his body, impeccably tailored to perfection. He exuded an air of sophistication and confidence. As he approached Terzo, they embraced warmly, and you couldn't help but notice how well Secondo carried himself in his stylish attire.
"I can't believe you didn't wear the costume I told you to," Terzo playfully chided as they pulled away.
"Terzo, I was not going to be Uncle Fester just because you asked me to," Secondo replied with a sigh.
"Why not, fratello? It would have been fun!" Terzo countered, clearly amused.
"Sì, for you, only," Secondo replied with a resigned tone. He then looked around and laid his eyes on you. "Oh, here he is! And who is this, signora?"
"She is our nanny," Angèle chimed in, going to your side and placing her hand on your back.
"It's nice to meet you formally, Papa," you said, extending your hand toward him, and he gallantly kissed the back of it.
"Il piacere è tutto mi," he replied with a charming smile, still holding your hand.
"Terzo!" another voice called from behind you, and you turned to see who it was.
"Primo!" Terzo exclaimed with a chuckle. "Fratello, hai lo spirito di Halloween! Sapevo che non mi avresti deluso!"
Indeed, Primo was dressed as Uncle Fester, and you couldn't help but stifle a giggle. He approached your group and hugged Terzo, just as Secondo had done earlier.
"See, fratello?" Terzo said, glancing at Secondo. "Primo has the Halloween spirit!"
"So you basically asked for the two of us to dress as Uncle Fester because you knew one of us would come as it?" Secondo asked, sounding somewhat annoyed.
"One of you was bound to do it," Terzo replied teasingly.
"Cretino," Secondo muttered in a sharp tone, shaking his head in mock disapproval.
"Secondo," Primo said with a disapproving look, then turned his gaze to you. "And who is this bella signora?"
"This is Andra's nanny, fratello," Terzo clarified.
Primo approached you with a warm smile. "Nice to meet you, bella," he said gently. "And it seems our piccolo demone is awake."
You smiled and nodded. "Nice to meet you too, Papa. And yes, Andras is quite awake and lively right now."
Primo extended his arms, and you handed Andras over to him. "Ciao piccolo," he greeted with a smile. "Il tuo zio preferito ti ha fatto mancare, mio piccolo demone."
"Zio preferito? You wish, fratello," Secondo chimed in as he approached Primo. He extended his hand toward Andras, who eagerly clasped one of his fingers with his tiny hand, letting out a sweet giggle. "See? He knows who his zio prefereito is. He's even smiling at me."
"Smiling at you?" Primo countered with playful banter. "The bambino is laughing at you."
The brothers exchanged amused glances, their competitive spirit lightening the mood as Andras enjoyed their attention. You briefly averted your eyes to take in the lively atmosphere of the Halloween ball. The joyous spirit in the room was infectious, and you couldn't help but feel like you belonged there.
"Where is Copia?" Angèle inquired.
As you heard his name, your attention snapped back to the conversation. Angèle now had Andras in her arms, and Terzo was pulling out a chair for her to sit next to him. Secondo and Primo were already seated, and you quickly made your way to sit beside Angèle, hanging Andra's bag on the chair.
"He's somewhere around, we haven't seen him since we got here," Secondo replied.
You listened attentively, feeling a bit disappointed. Would you not have the chance to meet Copia tonight? Was he not going to attend the Halloween ball? You consoled yourself with the thought that you would likely encounter him during your stay at the ministry.
Suddenly, someone approached you from the side, and you let out a loud scream of horror, causing Andras to start crying. The person was covered with a white sheet, and your eyes widened in terror as you clutched your chest, breathing heavily.
The person quickly removed the sheet, revealing Copia beneath it. "Ti ho spaventato? Mi dispiace, non era mia intenzione!"
Angèle got up from her seat with Andras still crying in her arms. You got up and rushed over to Angèle, who was trying to soothe the upset little one in her arms. You rushed to Andras' bag, located on your chair, and quickly retrieved his favorite plushie. Returning to Angèle, you presented it to Andras, attempting to comfort him, but it appeared to have little effect on his persistent crying.
Copia expressed his apologies, feeling genuinely remorseful for causing the commotion. "What have I done?" he said, addressing his brothers and Angèle.
"It's totally okay, it wasn't your fault," you reassured him, taking Andras into your arms.
"Terzo, please, give me his pacifier. It's in your blazer's pocket," Angèle requested.
Terzo promptly got up and retrieved the pacifier from his pocket, handing it to Angèle. She gently placed the pacifier in Andras' mouth, successfully calming him down. She then took him back into her arms, also reaching for Andra's bag, hanging on your chair.
"I'm going to step outside with him for a bit," Angèle announced. "I'll be right back."
As Angèle left the room with Andras, you took a deep breath, still feeling a bit overwhelmed by the sudden scare. A hand on your back sent shivers down your spine, and you turned to see Copia standing beside you. You turned your face to find Copia standing there, and for a moment, you were rendered speechless. He was even more striking in person, and you couldn't help but admire his presence. His voice was as charming as his appearance, and you felt a mix of excitement and nervousness in his presence.
"Are you okay?" he inquired, his concern evident in his voice.
In silence, you nodded, unable to find your voice as you continued to gaze at his captivating features. A smile graced his lips, and his hand gently squeezed your arm in a reassuring gesture.
"Bene, molto bene," he said, withdrawing his hand from your arm.
Copia offered a gentle smile, causing your cheeks to flush. He approached the table and pulled out your chair, signaling for you to sit down. You walked over to your chair and gracefully took your seat. Copia joined you, sitting right beside you, while Secondo audibly sighed and shook his head in response to the earlier playful banter.
"Secondo, non cominciare neanche," Primo warned him.
"Non stavo per dire niente," Secondo replied with a faint smirk.
Copia offered his sincere apologies. "Mi dispiace profondamente. I didn't mean to scare the signora, and I certainly didn't intend to frighten my own nipote."
"It's okay; it was my fault. I wasn't expecting it," you reassured him in a gentle tone.
Terzo chimed in with a bit of humor, "Please don't kill our nanny. She's the only one who's stayed with us. You have no idea how hard it is to find a nanny when you tell them about being a retired satanic Papa."
Copia turned his body toward you, placing his hand on your shoulder. "Again, mi dispiace profondamente. I didn't mean to... you know... kill you."
You chuckled nervously. "I hope... not?"
"No, I didn't mean to say it that way," he stammered. "I- I mean, I meant that I didn't want to scare you with my costume to the point where you'd... well, you know."
"Forse sarebbe meglio se smettessi di giustificarti, fratello," Secondo chimed in.
Your hand went to Copia's on your shoulder, and you held it delicately as you looked at him. "Papa, it's okay. I know you didn't mean it, and I know you don't want to, you know, kill me, even though you're a very scary ghost, right?"
"Oh!" he exclaimed, blushing slightly. "Sì, sì, I'm a scary ghost! Be careful, bella... sorella!" he said, straightening his body and trying to sound scary.
You made a frightened face and playfully let go of his hand. "Please, Papa, have mercy on me. I'm just a..." you furrowed your brows. "What did you call me again?"
"Sorella," he repeated, clarifying, "It's how we call the sisters, nuns, just like you tonight, in Italian."
You nodded and resumed your scary expression. "Please, Papa, I'm just a sorella today. I'm innocent!" you said, your tone with a hint like if you were truly scared by him.
Copia chuckled, his eyes never leaving yours. "I'm going to have mercy today and not go after you to haunt you, but only this time."
"Oh, don't worry, Papa. You can come after me if you want," you said, leaning back in your chair.
Copia gasped, blushing deeply, and your eyes widened as you realized what you had just said. "I'm sorry, Papa. I meant that I'm not that scared, and I won't mind to be haunted, you see? I'm very... I have a lot of courage!"
Copia nodded, his cheeks still flushed with embarrassment. Quickly, he retrieved the sheet from the table and draped it over himself once more, hiding his face behind it. A silence sank between you two, and you felt like all of the brothers were looking straight at you. You couldn't feel more embarrassed than you did now.
"So, where is your costume, fratello?" Terzo asked, breaking the silence, his eyes playfully scanning Copia.
Copia, draped in a simple white sheet, spread his arms wide. "Eh, this is my costume," he declared.
Terzo couldn't help but chuckle. "No, this is just a sheet from the laundry room, probably. Come on, you two have no Halloween spirit," Terzo teased. "Only Primo followed my suggestion."
Secondo, looking dapper in his suit, shook his head in mock disapproval. "Terzo, if I dressed as you asked me, you'd have two Uncle Festers for your son."
Terzo laughed. "Wouldn't that be a sight?"
Curious, you turned to Copia, who stood beside you. "And what did Terzo ask you to dress as?"
Copia grinned mischievously. "Cousin Itt."
Secondo couldn't contain his laughter. "Cousin Itt!? Oh, fratello, I take back everything I said about your costume choices."
Copia leaned closer to you and whispered, "Still, Secondo didn't wear the costume Terzo picked out for him, coglione."
You couldn't help but laugh, your eyes locking onto his as you both shared a playful moment. The proximity and the fact that you could only see his eyes under the sheet added an unexpected intimacy to the situation. Your cheeks were flushed, and you wished you had a sheet to hide behind as well, but you couldn't tear your gaze away from his. However, your attention shifted as Angèle as you notices her returning to the table, though without Andras.
"Hello, what have I missed?" she inquired as she took her seat right next to Terzo, pressing a gentle peck on his lips.
"I due che stanno flirtando," Secondo chimed in, a playful grin on his face.
"Lasciali stare, Secondo," Primo interjected.
"Non stavamo flirtando!" Copia quickly defended himself.
"Sì, stavate flirtando con lei," Terzo said with a smirk on the corner of his lips. "Where's Andras, cara mia?" he asked.
"I put him to sleep; he's being watched by Dewdrop now," Angèle explained.
"Oh, miss, do you want me to go there?" you offered, preparing to get up.
"You don't have to, dear, only if you want," Angèle replied.
"I insist; it's my job," you said, rising from your seat.
"In that case, I would appreciate it."
"Of course, miss."
"Angèle," she corrected.
"Angèle," you repeated.
With that, you politely excused yourself from the table. Copia got up after you, gracefully removing the sheet from himself and placing it on the chair. He then turned his body to face you. His hair was a little messy, and you couldn't help but giggle slightly at the view, for some reason it was charming.
"Wait, may I go with you?" Copia asked. "I want to see my nepote, and I'm afraid you don't know where you are going to stay during the week."
You were taken aback by his gesture. "Oh, that's very... gentle of you," you said, feeling somewhat overwhelmed by his offer. "Thank you, Papa."
Copia extended his arm toward you, and you hesitated for a moment before deciding to take it. The two of you walked away from the table, making your way toward the door leading to the chambers. Side by side, you and Copia entered the corridor, leaving the lively Halloween party behind.
You took a deep breath, savoring the faint scent of his cologne as you did. It was a refreshing and almost mythical fragrance that captivated your senses. You smiled, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the experience. You didn't want to forget this scent; you wanted to keep it in your memory, as it made you feel even closer to him.
Turning your face to him, you noticed that his hair was still slightly messy. Hesitantly, you extended your hand, expecting him to react, but he remained still. Gently, you reached out and smoothed his hair, your touch light and delicate.
"Thank you for coming with me, Papa," you said, glancing up at him with a warm smile.
Copia returned your smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Oh, you don't have to thank me," he replied, his voice smooth and reassuring.
"I do," you insisted, gently squeezing his arm. "After all, this is one of your first parties as a Papa here at the ministry, right?" you inquired, a soft smile on your lips as you withdrew your hand from his hair.
Copia nodded thoughtfully. "Oh, sì, sì."
"So you are the principal attraction of tonight, Papa!" you teased playfully, your tone filled with light-heartedness.
Copia chuckled, a faint blush coloring his cheeks. "Eh... I must confess this is all new for me."
"Really? Is it different from when you were a Cardinal?" you inquired, genuinely curious about his experience.
"Not too much when it comes to responsibilities," he explained, his gaze focused ahead as he considered your question. "They've just escalated a little more, but I still do many of the things I used to do before."
"But how do you feel about being a Papa now?" you asked curiously, your eyes fixed on Copia.
"Eh... Honestly?" Copia began, hesitating for a moment. "I'm happy with it, but can you keep a secret?"
A sense of intrigue filled you, and you nodded with a reassuring smile. "All the secrets you feel like telling me."
He blushed deeply before opening up further. "I'm very scared."
"Scared? How? Why?" Your curiosity deepened.
"I'm too afraid that they will not like me as much as they liked Terzo, Secondo and Primo" Copia admitted, his vulnerability showing.
"Copia, you can't compare yourself with your brothers," you said gently, trying to ease his worries. "And if I were you, I wouldn't worry at all. They will love you."
"Do you think so?" Copia asked, his uncertainty still lingering.
"Oh, I don't think they will, I know they will," you replied with a reassuring smile, emphasizing your confidence in him.
Copia halted his steps, his inquisitive gaze locked onto yours. "Eh, how can you be so sure?" he asked.
You paused, choosing your words carefully. "Well, I can't speak for everyone, but from what I've gathered about you through my interactions and what Terzo has shared, you come across as a gentle, kind-hearted, and dedicated man. Terzo spoke highly of your love for this place and your unwavering commitment to reaching this position. If this is something you've wanted for a long time, Papa, then there's no reason to doubt yourself. Embrace it, and you'll excel in your role at the ministry."
Copia found himself at a loss for words, overwhelmed by your kind and comforting presence. Your eyes locked into each other, creating an intimate silence in the corridor. The distant music from the ball could still be heard. Copia raised his arm slightly, as if contemplating a gesture, but then he lowered it and offered a soft, appreciative smile.
The intensity of your gaze made his cheeks flush with a deep shade of red. If he were still in his costume, he was sure he'd feel exposed, as the heat in his cheeks was almost unbearable. He was thankful that at least his face was still adorned with paint. Especially because your warm eyes were still locked onto his.
"Grazie," he finally managed to say, his voice filled with gratitude. "I don't deserve your kind heart."
You returned his smile and offered a reassuring nod. "You'll do great, Papa. Just believe in yourself."
Your eyes remained locked again in a wordless connection for a brief yet meaningful moment before Copia resumed walking, with you following closely. You two kept walking with your arms entwined, the comfortable silence enveloping you both. The only sounds that filled the corridor were the rhythmic echoes of your footsteps and the distant melody of the music from the ball. You took a deep breath, feeling a sense of closeness and ease, and you tightened your grip on his arm, silently cherishing the moment.
"So, can I ask to know more about you?" Copia inquired, breaking the silence.
"Sure," you responded timidly. "What do you want to know, Papa?"
"How long have you been working for my brother?" he inquired.
You glanced at him. "I've been with him for some months now, almost a year."
He nodded thoughtfully. "And are you enjoying it?" he asked.
With a smile, you responded, "I am! Your brother is a very nice man, his wife is really sweet, and little Andras is amazing."
"If you don't mind to answer..." Copia's curiosity didn't wane as he inquired further, "How do you feel about our little lifestyle?"
"The Satanism?" you asked, seeking clarification, and he nodded in confirmation. "I don't mind it at all. I see no harm; it all looks very cheerful and great."
Copia's expression revealed a hint of surprise. "You don't feel scared being here surrounded by our unholy place?"
You chuckled lightly, shaking your head. "No, not at all. The only thing that scared me here today was you."
He sighed, showing genuine remorse. "Eh, about that... I really didn't want to scare you, not at all."
"I know, Papa. You don't have to keep apologizing. I know you were just in your costume."
Copia nodded, appreciating your understanding. "Sì, it was just a costume, after all. But I'm glad you're not afraid of our unique surroundings, or of me."
You smiled warmly. "Honestly, I find it all quite fascinating."
Copia chuckled. "Fascinating? That's not a word I hear often in this context."
"Well, it's different, and different can be interesting," you explained.
"Just like your attire tonight," he said. "You chose a very unique costume for tonight," Copia observed, his eyes sweeping up and down your nun costume.
You glanced down at your outfit and replied, "Did I?"
"Sì, our siblings here also wear habits in their daily lives, but it's just a little bit different from yours. But don't worry, you are looking very beautiful as a sorella."
"Thank you, Papa," you laughed shyly.
Copia's compliment made you blush, and you couldn't help but feel flattered by his words. As the two of you continued down the corridor, you found yourself becoming more comfortable in his presence, enjoying his charming demeanor.
"May I ask one more question?" Copia inquired.
"You can ask all the questions you want, Papa," you replied.
Copia's cheeks took on a subtle flush as he chuckled with a hint of shyness, and he nodded. "Well, I just wanted to know your name. Would you tell me your name?"
You hesitated for a moment, feeling a bit bashful. As you shared your name with him, Copia's lips curved into a broad smile. He nodded and repeated your name in a soft, charming tone. Hearing him say your name felt like the highlight of your night. It had a different, special quality when spoken in his accent, and it made you feel even closer to him.
As you continued to walk down the corridors of the ministry, Copia's steps began to slow, hinting that you were nearing your destination. Finally, you and Copia reached the door to your temporary residence. Copia took the lead, positioning himself in front of you. With a gentle knock on the door, you both waited for a few moments. The door eventually swung open, revealing Dewdrop.
"Good evening, Papa," Dewdrop said. "How can I help you?"
"I came here with Andras' nanny and she will stay here with him until his parents come back," he said.
Dewdrop raised an eyebrow and looked past Copia at you. "Andra's nanny, huh?"
You couldn't help but laugh and replied, "Don't mock me, Dewdrop."
Dewdrop chuckled and said, "I'm not mocking!"
"You're free to return to your duties now," Copia said, his tone carrying a hint of something you couldn't quite decipher.
"Of course, Papa," Dewdrop said.
Dewdrop stepped aside, granting you and Copia access to the place. Copia made his first step, entering the chambers. However, as you moved to enter, Dewdrop unexpectedly held your hand, causing you to let out a surprised squeak. Copia turned his attention to Dewdrop and you.
"How was at the ball?" Dewdrop inquired.
"It was..." you hesitated for a moment. "fun."
"Fun?" Dewdrop leaned in closer, a teasing tone in his voice. "Why don't I believe that your 'fun' is real?"
"Because you like to mock me," you replied, playfully pouting.
Dewdrop chuckled and let go of your hand. "I'm not mocking you right now. I was just wondering if you had fun. But maybe we should talk..." he turned his gaze to Copia before continuing, "...tomorrow."
Copia observed your interaction with Dewdrop closely, a thoughtful expression on his face. You took a step into the chambers, with Copia staring at you. As you exchanged a small smile, you turned your attention back to Dewdrop, who remained outside the door. Copia positioned himself behind you, his eyes locking onto Dewdrop once more.
"Grazie, Dewdrop. We'll take it from here," he said.
Dewdrop gave a polite nod and closed the door behind you. You and Copia were now alone in there. You took a moment to look around, and your eyes widened in amazement. The room was much larger and more lavish than you had anticipated. Intricately designed works of art adorned the walls, and the color scheme was meticulously coordinated, creating an elegant and inviting ambiance that took you by surprise. You couldn't help but appreciate the attention to detail that had gone into decorating the room.
"Did you like it?" Copia inquired, gesturing for you to follow him further into the room.
"It's bigger than I expected," you admitted, glancing around in awe.
"It's going to be mine," he explained.
"Yours?" you questioned.
"Sì, this place was supposed to be mine for now, as it's the Papal apartment. However, I don't need this much space at the moment, so I thought it was better to give it to Terzo and his family, while I stay in my old chambers."
"Are you sure, Papa? I mean..."
"I'm completely sure, don't worry. Besides, my room has everything I need – a bed, a TV, my video game, and even my lava lamp," he said with a playful grin, noticing your intrigued expression.
"Did you say a lava lamp?" you asked, clearly fascinated. "I haven't seen one for so long!"
Copia's grin widened as he saw your excitement. "Sì. I find the shifting colors and blobs of lava oddly soothing."
"They are very... hypnotizing for sure," you said.
He laughed softly. "Let me show you to your room," Copia smiled warmly. "Follow me, cuoricina."
You nodded appreciatively as he led the way to your designated room. He extended his hand to open the door for you, and you acknowledged his gesture with another nod before stepping inside. As you entered the room, your eyes widened in astonishment. The room was decorated in warm, neutral colors, with a comfortable-looking bed, a small desk, and a window that overlooked the beautiful garden outside.
Copia gestured towards the room. "This will be your room during your stay," he explained. "Please, make yourself at home."
"Thank you, Papa," you replied with a grateful smile.
Eager to explore, you wandered around the room, but your curiosity drew you to the window. It was large and clear, and you pressed your hands against the cool glass, looking down at the vast garden below. Even in the darkness, the small lights scattered throughout the garden made it appear enchanting. As you gazed, a slight shiver ran down your spine, and your body tensed a bit as you felt Copia's warm hand on your lower back, his touch gentle and comforting.
"Did you like it?" he asked, his fingers gently rubbing your lower back.
As you turned your face towards him, your eyes met his. Copia's face was softly illuminated by the ambient light from outside the window, accentuating his handsome features. The moment felt like it stretched on for eternity, and you wished you could freeze time to continue gazing at him, to savor his touch a little longer. However, you couldn't just stand there in silence, no matter how much you wanted to.
Breaking the silence, you finally spoke, your voice trembling slightly, "I loved it."
"I think this room has the best view of them all," he whispered, his eyes fixed on you.
"I think you're right, Papa," you whispered back.
Copia withdrew his hand from your back and concealed both of his hands behind his back. He turned his attention to the garden, his eyes fixed on something in the distance. But you couldn't tear your gaze away from him. For someone associated with a satanic church, he appeared ethereal and bathed in an inexplicable grace, as if touched by a blessing rather than something sinful.
"So you are friend with Dewdrop?" Copia inquired, breaking the silence.
"Oh, well, I suppose we're friends of sorts," you replied. "He sometimes visits Terzo's house with ministry-related items.
"Eh! That's right," he nodded. "That makes sense."
You giggled, turning your body to face him. "He told me that he's one of the older ghouls here, and that's quite fascinating, to be honest."
"Fascinating?" he inquired.
"Yes, it's intriguing," you explained. "First, because he's been here for such a long time, and second, because he's also a Ghoul. I have no real understanding of what Ghouls are, but I have my theories."
Copia moved closer to you. "So, you find ghouls fascinating?"
"Yes, I do," you said with genuine curiosity. "I've always wondered where they come from."
Copia hesitated and then said, "I'm afraid I can't reveal that. It's a secret of the ministry."
You pouted and pleaded, "Really, Papa? You won't tell me?"
Copia couldn't resist your charm. He grinned playfully. "Well, alright. You see, when a Ghoul and a Ghoulette love each other..."
You burst into laughter, cutting him off. "Stop it! That's not how it happens!"
Copia chuckled at your reaction. "You're right, that's not how it happens, but I couldn't resist."
You playfully rolled your eyes, followed by a smile. "You're really not going to tell me, right?"
Copia shook his head regretfully. "I wish I could, trust me, but I can't."
"It's okay, Papa," you whispered, drawing nearer to him.
"Shall we head back to the party?" he suggested, his hand reaching for your hand.
"Uh... I can't, Papa. I need to stay here with Andras," you responded.
"Right! I completely forgot," he sighed. "I'm a lousy uncle."
"No, Papa, you're not," you reassured him. "I know you're an amazing uncle."
Copia's gaze remained locked with yours, and a brief silence hung in the air. He moved to say something, but just as he began to speak, the sound of Andras crying echoed from the room next door. Without hesitation, you swiftly exited the room and hurried into the adjacent one. There, you opened the door and approached the small crib. With gentle hands, you lifted Andras into your arms, comforting him as he cried.
With Andras in your arms, you gradually managed to calm him down, and his cries gradually transformed into soft, whimpering sounds. Copia watched the scene unfold from the doorway, his smile reflecting his appreciation for your comforting skills. It was a heartwarming moment as you continued to soothe the little one, both of you providing him with the care and attention he needed.
"Is he all right?" Copia asked as he walked over to you.
You turned to him with a reassuring smile. "Yes, he just needed a little attention. Babies can be quite sensitive, but they usually calm down with some care and comfort."
Copia nodded in agreement, his gaze shifting to Andras as he gently caressed the his head. "You're really good with him."
"I guess so," you replied, still holding Andras. "Are you awake to see your zio Copia?"
"Zio? Do you speak Italian?"
"Oh, not at all," you chuckled, gently rocking Andras. "But Terzo always talks about you three as his zio, so I just got used to it."
Copia chuckled at your response. "That's quite observant of you. Impressive."
"Thank you, Papa," you replied with a hint of pride.
Copia then extended his arms toward Andras. "So, before I go back to the party, can I hold my nepote a little bit?"
"Of course," you replied, gently passing Andras into Copia's waiting arms.
Copia's face lit up with a warm smile as he cradled Andras in his arms. The baby looked small and fragile in comparison to the tall and imposing figure of Copia, but there was a gentle tenderness in the way he held him. Copia's eyes were fixated on Andras, who gazed up at him with curious eyes. It was a heartwarming sight, and you couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and contentment as you watched the two of them together.
"You look well with him in your arms," you remarked, your gaze fixed on the bonding pair.
"Do I?" Copia giggled softly. "I always heard I had a way with kids."
"I think you do too," you said with sincerity, a smile gracing your lips.
As you took a step closer to Copia and Andras, you gently reached for the baby's hand, feeling his tiny fingers wrap around one of yours. Copia's eyes met yours, and there was an unspoken connection between you two. You both shared a smile, and in that moment, you realized that Copia's presence was even more captivating in person than in any photograph. The depth of his gaze and the warmth of his smile were something that couldn't be fully captured in pictures. You found yourself drawn to the genuine warmth and kindness in Copia's eyes.
However, the tender moment between you and Copia was suddenly interrupted by Andras's cries, breaking the connection you shared. Copia gently rocked the baby in his arms, trying to soothe him, while you reached out to touch Andras's tiny cheek, offering comfort and reassurance. Andras's cries filled the room, making it clear that he needed attention and care. Copia looked at you with a slightly apologetic smile as he continued his attempts to calm the baby.
"It seems like Andras prefers your company," Copia remarked, his voice filled with warmth as he tried to ease the baby's distress.
With that, Copia carefully handed Andras back to you, allowing you to resume your soothing efforts. You gently cradled Andras, who had started to show signs of drowsiness. You carefully walked over to the crib, and with a tender touch, you placed him back in it. Andras seemed to settle down once again, his eyelids growing heavier as he drifted into a peaceful sleep.
Copia watched the scene with a soft smile. "Grazie for taking care of m- him," he said, his tone a little nervous.
You turned to him with a warm smile. "It's my pleasure, Papa. And also, my job."
Copia nodded, leaning closer to the crib to admire his sleeping nephew. His fingers gently brushed over Andras's tiny hand, and a warm smile played on his lips. "I should head back to the party. But can I walk you to your chambers?"
"Papa, I'm already here, my room is right next door," you chuckled, stepping closer to him.
"Eh! Sì, sì, my silly mistake, sì?" He chuckled, his eyes filled with amusement.
"Don't be too hard on yourself, Papa!" you teased, playfully patting his arm. "Maybe my outfit is causing the confusion."
You reached for the veil of your nun costume, fingers deftly untangling the knot that held it in place. As you removed the costume piece, Copia's gaze briefly fell upon you, but he quickly averted his eyes, fixating on some unseen point in the room.
"Better now?" you asked.
Copia turned his gaze back to you, his eyes tracing your figure from head to toe. He took a deep breath and nodded. There was a hint of a word that he seemed to hold back. You giggled and decided to distract yourself by tucking Andras into his crib. After turning off a nearby lamp, you walked back towards Copia, stopping in front of him.
"Maybe I can walk you to the front door?" you offered, reaching for his shirt and adjusting it neatly around his neck.
Copia looked at your hand and then nodded thoughtfully. You both left Andras's room, quietly closing the door behind you. Walking together down the corridor, your footsteps produced a faint echo on the polished floors. Approaching the front door, you hesitated for a moment. You stopped in front of it and your hand hovered over the doorknob. You glanced at Copia, who seemed lost in his thoughts as he stared at you.
"Thank you again for accompanying me, Papa," you expressed, your voice sincere and appreciative.
Copia blinked as if snapping out of a reverie, his attention returning to you. "Oh, mi dispiace," he responded, his voice gentle. "I was momentarily lost in thought. You were saying?"
"I was thanking you," you reiterated, a faint smile on your lips. "For coming with me and for letting us stay in your Papal apartment."
Copia offered you a warm smile in return. "You're most welcome. It was a pleasure to be of assistance. I hope you and Andras have a pleasant night."
With that, Copia stepped through the open door into the corridor, and you leaned against the doorframe, your eyes fixed on his retreating figure. Copia turned his body back to you and paused for a moment, contemplating something. Slowly, he extended his hand toward you, his fingers trembling slightly as he reached for yours, holding it.
"I hope you find your room comfortable. If there's anything you need or any questions you have, don't hesitate to ask me or any of the Ghouls. We're here to make your time at the ministry enjoyable If there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask," he said with a reassuring tone. "And remember, you can always reach me."
Copia brought your hand closer to his mouth and pressed a gentle kiss on the back of it. You nodded, blushing deeply at his words, and bit your lower lip, trying to contain your emotions. Taking a deep breath, you offered him a warm smile. As he released your hand, his lips lightly brushed against your skin, and you felt his grip tighten. Your breath caught in your throat, but you fought to maintain your composure.
“Of course, Papa. Have a great time at the party, and don’t scare anyone else with your costume," you playfully remarked.
Copia chuckled. “I’ll do my best. Arrivederci, bella sorella.”
“Arrivederci, Papa,” you replied as he turned to leave, heading back to the Halloween party.
Copia came to a sudden halt, turning his head to look back at you over his shoulder, his gaze lingering on you for a moment before he turned and strolled down the corridor. As he gradually disappeared from your sight, you closed the door gently. Leaning against the door, you took a deep breath, your eyes closed, and you bit your lower lip slightly. There was no doubt about it – Copia was even more captivating in person than in the photos.

The jazz band was one of the finest groups in the city. ‘Only the finest for The Canary Club’, as Johnny had put it.
Johnny Boy Finnick.
Now he was a man. Played sports in college, muscular, strong arms that pinned you to the wall or mattress or table. Hands that shuffled playing cards with ease and had you screaming far after the night was over. Deep blue eyes and blonde hair that never fell out of place from its slicked back style. Not even after he had crushed someone's jaw under the weight of his pummeling, bloodlusting fist.
Johnny made a name for himself bootlegging liquor, too young to fight in the first world war. Took over as The Boss of Boston. It’s how he got his name. Johnny Boy. Fresh faced but the heart of a ragged old man. Lost it all after the second world war, gained it back not long after. A killer with a bone deep yearning for blood, money, violence, and you.
He sat in his pressed suit, legs parted as he leaned over to display his full flush to the table, flashing a killer smile when he collected the money off his right hand man and three more of his boys. You smiled from the bar, beads of your dress twinkling in the low light of the speakeasy, ready to waltz over with another old fashioned and drape yourself in his lap.
“Thanks, Henry.” You smiled at your oldest friend, taking the drink he had placed down in front of you on the bar. Henry was your age, 25. A boy from Hartford, Connecticut, grew up in Kansas, then moved here looking for work in a big city. Honest, hardworking. Sweeter than cherry pie. And his little brother Sam was just the cutest pip you'd ever seen.
“No problem, Doll.” He teased, which deserved a roll of the eyes from you.
“How many times have I asked you not to call me that?”
“This would make it…” he glanced up for a second, as if calculating within his mind, “one too many times to count.”
“Funny.” You gave him a quick bitter smile. All in good fun, clearly, for he took no offence. He just shot you a smile, running a clean rag over the bartop, collecting two glasses and wiping the rings of condensation they left upon maplewood.
“Your man looks thirsty. Might wanna take him his drink now. Before he gets the wrong idea about me talking to ya.” You sighed, craning your head slightly to look back at Johnny who scanned the place with a scowl. It made your skin crawl the thought of his temper snapping again. Despite it, you left Henry with a playful wink his way before swanning back over, placing Johnny’s drink in front of him and a vermillon kiss to his cheek.
Johnny sneered at the affection, wiping your lipstick stain from his cheek. All the confidence you had fell to the floor and shattered miserably. Liquid courage sloshed on the cured wood floor.
“Fuck’s sake, Doll. What you do that for?” He demanded of you, the disgust in his cruel cerulean eyes sending a chilling, agonising jolt down your spine.
“Sorry, Johnny.” You shied away, folded your hands together, eyes on the floor.
“Ain't you gotta powder your nose or something? Go on. Piss off.”
He was right. You’d be on soon. Drenched in the spotlight. Under the scrutinising, side cramping glare of everyone's eye. You could do with the quiet. So you shuffled off to your dressing room without a word more, holding back tears with your breath.
In the mirror, you mourned the girl you were. Mourned the life you had before it all turned upside down. Mourned the man you fell in love with. And the monster you had no choice but to stay with.
—
Joel was fuming. If you touched his skin you'd reel back with a scorched yelp because his blood ran hot, fast and thick under his flesh. Trust Tommy to catch himself in the web of underground crime. Always a joiner. Always a deserter too when things got heated. And who was left to untangle him from its intricate, venom snared weave? Joel ‘Gubbins’ Miller. He might as well have ‘mother to my brother’ branded on his forehead. Because that's what he was now.
The war ended four years ago and ever since Tommy had been searching for his purpose. Preached about it round the dinner table in their grimy, mildew inhabited apartment like a preacher would his sermon. And every time it set Joel’s teeth on edge. Because he knew what came after the downfall. The pickup.
Now, however, Joel was determined to nip this lunacy in the bud. Tear it up from the soil by the new roots.
The Canary Club was one of the few remaining speakeasies around in Boston. To a cop it was practically a ghost of an establishment. Might as well not be there. But to a man like Joel, whose brother never stopped babbling on about the next best thing he had cooking for himself, it was as easy as pie.
A shroud of cloud hung just above Boston’s looming buildings, teaming with the early moon to create a murky gloom over the dim city’s sin. It seemed to fill the hollow, smoggy air as they cast dark, taut shadows over the slick, grimy roads. The sky threatened rain for the third day in a row. A place that reeked of underground crime, drug rings and watered down, once bootlegged alcohol, laced with what one can only assume to be illegal too. All of that was washed down with the constant sour smell of new rain upon dirty tarmac. A city plagued and tarnished by its own rejects. The promise of work bought them in. But the lifestyle spat them back out. Chewed up and ruined by their own humanising hope.
He and his brother came in search of work. They were getting nowhere down south in Texas. On the dole and barely able to afford a loaf of bread between the two of them. Even their own mother hardly recognised her boys after the war. Said they were empty shells of men. Husks of the boys she raised. Killers.
The woman was a pacifist at heart. And it was a trait that Joel not only saw as weak, but typical of women. Or that's what his father had socialised him into thinking. He didn't know where his father’s ideals ended and his started. As the days went by he saw more of the violence his father harboured in himself. Grimaced at the lug in the looking glass.
Joel was no pacifist. But he didn't storm through the doors either. No gun was in hand ready to send people screaming bloody murder. That was stupid. A mistake that he knew could wind him up on the concrete in the flooded gulley with a bullet in his head where blood and water could finally mix. Instead he stole in quietly in the ambience of playing cards and a Jazz band, ordered himself a drink, and sat at the far corner of the bar where it was dimly lit. Just enough for him to see his drink and the room, but his face still remained shadowed.
While he sipped in ponder, he took the chance to people watch. Scan the patrons for any uncanny resemblance of dear Tommy. But nothing. He seemed distracted by the careful and steady hand that polished glass after glass, though each of them were spotless before touching the rag.
A pointless task. Some may say sisyphean. But the boy doing so knew when eyes were on him. It was a very rare occurrence if not related to his race. People of any darker colour were ogled often in these parts despite it being more accepted within the north of America. There was still divide and segregation. However, this new patron wasn't looking for Henry’s skin colour, rather contemplating how on earth a boy such as him had ended up in such a place. What connection he had to the gang. Was he like Tommy? Roped in at the side of the side of the road and choking on his remaining pride. Or in a sticky financial situation? All these questions seemed to circle like the rag in the crystal glass Henry held.
“What’s your name, kid?” Joel asked him with an ex-smoker's voice, brow dark in the shadow. The boy looked up, eyes youthful, but they'd seen things no man should have to.
“Henry.” He said after a beat, quick to refill Joel’s glass when it was empty besides a drop circled thin and amber in the bottom. “Yours?” Joel lifted his head, taking a sip before placing his glass back on the bartop in furrowed brow contemplation.
“Joel.” He leaned forward on his forearms, haunched over the bar, before looking around again. “Whatcha doin’ here, Henry?”
Henry laughed slightly, looking down at his feet before back in Joel's eyes. And what he was met with was the hollow ache of a man scarred by war. Henry’s face fell flat.
“Working.”
“No…I mean in Boston.”
Henry cleared his throat at the sudden, and even brash way Joel approached his question. So much that it took him a second to frown and then reply.
“Came from Kansas. Hard for a black kid to find honest work there. Especially with a family to look out for.” His words were solemn and reflected a truth Joel knew all too well growing up down south. Even if he never lived it in his own white skin.
“You look a little young to have a kid.”
“I don’t. I got a brother.” Joel nodded as he listened, waiting for him to go on. Which he did after a beat of silence. “Bright kid. Bright future too. He’s deaf though. Got a lot stacked against him in this world. Mom can't bring in enough to fund education for ‘im. So I stepped up.”
“No Daddy?” Joel asked and Henry shook his head. “How’d you end up here then?”
“A girl.” The look Joel gave Henry was sceptical. But the young boy was soon to put a stop to it all. “Not a girlfriend. Just a girl. We grew up in the same building. She moved up north for a life and I followed a few months later. She met a guy. A wealthy guy. And she wrote to me often of how swell Boston had been for her.”
Joel wasn't the questioning type. Neither one to beat around the bush. But Henry intrigued him. Reminded him a lot of Sarah. The challenge she had faced with the colour of her skin that he, as a white man, would never understand. He felt a guilt about it every day that flared up in the dark of night before his eyes closed for restless and futile sleep. “And this guy?”
“Him.” Henry nodded subtly over to the table of men playing cards. Poker. A game Joel knew well in the frontline and in Egypt where he fought. Him and a few others often huddled together in their own game. Nothing but the last pair of intact socks to bet on, or a single cigarette to get them through the night. Joel quit smoking the moment he got back. Knew it was something that made him unpredictable and jittery in the best of situations. “Johnny Boy Finnick. A big name in these parts.”
Joel followed Henry’s gaze, but his attention was snagged by the unmistakable head of dark curled hair facing away from him. He knew his brother anywhere and his blood began to boil as he threw back his second drink and slammed the empty glass on the bartop.
“Hey, man-” Henry tried, shoulders straining as he stood to attention. Joel didn't pay him any mind. Merely wiped his mouth with the back of his hand before his bar stool sharied upon the varnished wood floor. He cared not for the noise. Only the feeling he would get once his closed fist met the bone on the bridge of Tommy’s nose.
Trumpets flailed to a stop and drums failed mid blow. The room fell silent after a chorus of gasps.
He loved his brother. Deeply. So much it caused a chasm of a rib cracking hole in his chest every time Tommy slipped up. But he saw red now it all caught up behind his lids that blinked once. That split second of not seeing and before he had a chance to second guess, he was gripping the back of tommy;s collar and wrenching him up to his feet to deliver a shiner to the face.
Tommy staggered back, and everyone at his table stood up with the intention to harm. Yet no one but the brawling brothers fought. As he gained his footing again, he also gained his senses, recognising Joel anywhere.
“Joel, what the fu-” He was hardly able to finish before another shooting pain split his bottom lip open and Tommy’s mouth was filled with the taste of his own bitter blood. Blood he and Joel shared and were now shedding in a futile fight of nothing but testosterone. That was enough to send the same foul blow to his kin. Joel winced, knowing the crescent of a bruise that would bloom on his cheekbone overnight. One of Tommy’s many rings sliced his skin. He felt warmth in crimson dribble from a fresh flesh wound.
“Hey!” One loud and bellowing voice that had the power to command a whole unit of men boomed out before neither Joel or Tommy had the chance to throw another fist. It was for the better. Any more and Joel’s knuckles would have bruised purple. A colour of shame.
It was Johnny. And his face was stoic as he stared each brother down with a burning gaze that had even Joel’s hairs stood on end at the nape of his neck. Like an army stood to attention before the first charge. Except he didn't move. Joel knew now where he stood in the food chain of this speakeasy. And it was right at the very bottom. “You!” He pointed at Tommy. Go clean yourself up.” And Tommy went as pale as a funeral sheet before nodding meekly. His face melted from shock to shame in the blink of Joel’s very eye before he grumbled something under his breath and passed Joel with a sharp clip to his shoulder.
It's his turn now.
At this point you'd come out to see what the commotion was for. The walls, while thick upstairs in the printer's press, were thin in the basement. And you;d heard silence and the spit of a man as his blood splattered with spit on the floor in the doorway.
“The fuck do you think you’re doin throwin’ fists in my god damned club for?!” He roared. And Joel had to take the duration of both inhale and exhale to get his lips and tongue to work. But the scowl on his face said it all. “Huh?!” Jonny’s nostrils flared like a spanish thoroughbred bulls’.
“That’s my brother you got workin’ for ya. I ain't havin’ him in some shady drug ring you got goin in. I aint!”
Jonnly was no stupid man. Hr was smart. Quick minded and knew a man with balls. But Joel also knew very little. So this one time, he took the approach of calmness, and used his usual lying tongue for truth. Any other time it would she forked like Lucifer's serpent form. But now he was a man of coolness. “Right.” Johnny nodded at him, his tone was one that could soothe a ravenous bear. But with an edge as sharp as a knife. So sharp it could slice skin in one swift swoop. “Sit down.” He commanded calmly. “Let’s get you a drink.”
With a wave of his hand a cha was pulled out. Two heavy handed brutes shoving Joel down into a chair, an old fashioned presented to him by Henry in front of him on the maplewood table. Then Johnny addressed the room gently. Set its patrons at ease. The music played its jazzy, jolly tune once more. People spoke again. And Johnny took his seat opposite Joel.
“Look here…” The gangster waited for Joel to give him his name. Which he did. “Joel, I appreciate a strong swing as much as the next guy. But I don't appreciate it in my establishment.” Joel nodded in understanding. His temper ashamed him. How it ran hot under his skin. Fizzled white when provoked until he saw red in rage and swung. Never blindly though. He wasn't a loose cannon like the broken soldier stereotype enforced. Just a fractured man.
“You’re a soldier aint ya?” “Was.” Joel said gruffly. Curtly and he brewed a stare across from Johnny.
“Oh, nah.” Johnny shook his head, swirling his drink in the crystal glass, “Once a brother in arms, always a brother in arms. The war sticks with ya. You’re a soldier.” “Fine. Yeah, I'm a soldier.”
“I know the war. I served like you. Left a boy and came back a shell of a man. Now look at me.” Joel took a moment to calculate his motive here. Johnny’s arms stretched wide with a smirk of pure pride as he gestured to the heart of his Boston crime empire. “I got money. I got birds.” He held up his glass to Joel, “I got liquor.” then leaned forward and spoke in a grave tone, "What you got?”
Joel swallowed harshly, unable to answer because he had nothing in reality.
“You got a job?” He shook his head, exhaling through his nose. “No.”
“Figured. Hard finding work when all the women are competent enough to do it themselves. Fight for your country. End up on the streets. You don't die a hero like you thought you would. No one knows your name.” He scoffed, holding fingers up in air quotes around competent. It left a bitter taste of disgust in Joel’s mouth as the father of a daughter. Curled the edges of his tongue distastefully. Made him kiss his teeth to hold back the insult. “Well, people know my name.” Johnny paused again, the air grew thick between them and smouldered on their shoulders. He was squinting at Joel opposite him, sizing him up. Joel was rugged. A strong build and most likely a strong character too. Something Johnny could always do with having in abundance. And so when the devil's own smirk curled at his lip, Joel felt a question brewing at the very tip of his tongue. One that would change his life for better or worse. Regardless of it he declined or accepted. “And they could know yours too.”
Joel didn't want to admit it for the sake of his crumbling pride, but the man had it all. Even a good five years his junior, the man made a living for himself. Picked himself up from the dirt and used bloodshed and bodies for the foundations.
“I could use a guy like you–”
“No.” Joel put his offer down flat before it had the chance to meet the air.
“Hear me out.” He said calmly, and held up a hand, “A roof over your head. A steady income. A little extra dough in ya pocket?” Johnny rubbed his thumb and index finger together in the older man's face. An action to which Joel’s nostrils flared. It was embarrassing to even mull over. “Come on,” Johnny smirked. “Give it a go.”
The southerner’s lips pursed, as if he was thinking it over. Which he was. But to what lengths would he go? Sure, Joel was conditioned in a short few months to kill. He was good at it. Mowed down men on the frontline like clockwork. And his trigger finger twitched at the thought of holding that power once more. But that didn't mean he was a man without morals. The men’s blood he;d coat his hands in had families. They were someone's son. Probably someone's husband or father. Joel knew the hollow ache loss left. The imprint of a shadow it left. The chasm ripped in your chest. Loss felt like an agonising, deep, helpless pit. But here was Johnny, throwing him a rope
“You know, you’re right. This ain't the time to talk this over.” Johnny held his hands up and leaned back in his seat before they clapped back in his lap. Now you were at Johnny’s side once more. But the figure of Joel in his chair had something jumping in your bones. Tongue curling to taste his very words. “Dollface here will patch you up.”
You raised a brow, giving the two of them a dirty look. “Excuse me? Do I look like a nurse?” You shut up when Johnny glared. Swallowed your pride, and sighed inwardly. You both hated and loved the power he held over you. As much as you despised it at times, Johnny had your being wrapped around his finger like a puppeteer holds his strings. And tightly. You felt his tug at the strain in your limbs.
“And you come back here tomorrow. We’ll talk in my office over a drink and a cigar. A good fucking drink.”
—
Joel swallowed harshly when he saw you. Eyes, wide and decorated by dark mascara lashes, white liner on lower waterlines, face of a doll like Johnny’s nickname for you suggested. The red lipstick you had re-applied moments prior was glossy, inviting him to stumble over velvet words he would hear you speak. Lean closer so the blood red could graze the shell of his ear while you would whisper a dirty joke at him.
He followed as you led him down a corridor off to the other side of the bar. Your dress seemed fit for hypnotising him into your bidding. Surely you were a siren who climbed the strats of a pier of the east coast and arrived here. Something about the beauty you wielded was not the everyday sort. It was the type you see women bend over backwards to achieve even a glimmer of for their man who came back after work. He could see himself now. Loosening his tie, hanging up his coat and hat. Leaving his briefcase and sanity at the door to see you in a pinafore and pin curls. Pretty gingham dress. He’d sit at the table and either be presented by you or a meal for his satiation. He’d prefer to devour the sweetness between your legs.
Your hand in front of his face had his attention now. Fingers snapping. Nails manicured and painted the same shade as your lipstick.
“Hey, you listening?” You asked, face set into displeasure. Joel straightened as he cleared his throat.
“What?” His tone was gruff and he mirrored your expression to you. His southern accent catching you off guard, but is intriguing.
“I said sit down.”
Joel looked over at the chair set at a vanity mirror you gestured to with an extended arm. The second time he had been asked to be seated. The second time he obeyed.
You took your time to wet a washcloth in the small basin in the corner with warm water. Took the bottle of whiskey you stashed last week from the bottom of a rickety chest of drawers. Joel watched you in the mirror, eyes narrowed a fraction to make sure you were of no threat to him. He knew he could take you easily. In more ways than one. The power imbalance had his length twitching in his trousers.
Your hands weren't gentle as you sat on the vanity between his legs. You took his stubbled chin in your grasp and jerked his head up into the light, tilting it to take a closer look at the gash.
“Stay still.” You said curtly, holding the rag to the opening of the bottle and wetting it. You then pressed it over the pad of your finger. The initial touch made his teeth bare at you and a hiss to escape his mouth. His large wrist enclosing around yours to make you stop. “I said,” And you yanked your wrist from his hold, “stay still.”
He did as he was told again. Silence setting his between the odd hiss from him and twitch of muscle under weathered skin. The crows feet at the side of his eyes were old. He clearly had lost his smile to something in the past. But you didn't ask, only wondered as you wiped the dried blood clean from his wound. “Fuckin grown man and you cant take a little sting of a cut.” You mumbled under your breath to yourself in amusement. Followed by a small huff of dry laugh.
“Maybe if you weren't digging your fingers into a fresh bruise I wouldn’t be wincin’.” You shot him a look and let go.
“All done.” And you held up your hands for good measure.
“What are you doing here anyway?” You asked, tossing the rag aside and crossing your arms. He reached for the whiskey and took a large gulp, pursing his lips at the slow burn in the back of his throat.
“None of your business.”
“What’s your name?”
“You know my name.” He stated lowly. He was right. But you found a sick satisfaction in having any man you liked bend to your will. Answer any question you so pleased to hear the answer to.
His bones groaned as he stood up from the chair. Your coat draped over the back of it fell to the floor and you swiftly got up to swipe it from the floor and hand it on the hook on the back of the door before pressing your back to it and facing him. Blocking his exit. “Move.”
“Tell me your name.” You crossed your arms, jutting your chin up at him.
“Don’t make me move you, princess.”
“Tell me your name.”
Joel bit his tongue, the vein in his neck starting to pulse visibly under his skin that once again went hot.
“Why do you wanna know?”
“Because I’m nosy.” You smiled, sarcastic and saccharine. “And i want to know the name i’ll be moaning tonight as i touch myself under the covers.”
“Fuckin-” His jaw ticked, nostrils flared in his disdain. You kept your smile as he pinched the bridge of his nose with a small guttural noise from the back of his throat. A headache was starting to coil behind the strain of his eyes. “Joel.” And he looked back up at you. It still wasn't enough “Miller.” Your smile was genuine this time, just as sweet. You uncrossed your arms, standing up straight from the door to hold out your hand and give him your name in return. He rolled his eyes, reaching for the handle and swerving you. He pulled the door but you used your body weight to slam it shut with your back again. A loud slam and a creak of protest from its hinges.
“Where are you from, Joel?”
“Is this a game to you, girl?” Joel growled.
“Yes.” The smile you had was sly. Foxy. A single finger ran down his chest and dared to slip just under his shirt’s collar. “I like games.”
“You don't wanna do that.” He warned, dark eyes burning you up inside from your very core. It was the look of a man’s lust that had been left untouched, unloved for quite some time now. It strained at his morality. But who were you to give up the warning and keen hand of a man who so desperately needed a release to the coiling tension of his shoulders. You saw it. Felt it in the rhythmic yet chaotic hammer of his heart against his ribs. As if it were trying with all its might not to break his own bones clean in two and lurch from its enclosure of flesh and bone.
“And why not?” This was a devils game of chess. Careful calculated words from loose tongues and taking each other's moves in as you exhaled a counter. And oy had him three moves from checkmate. His king weak in defence, your advances stronger by each word that fell into his eras from your red painted, enticing lips. He could feel his limbs being string up for you to pull at like a puppeteer in an advanced level of her craft. But he was no kind man. His words were even less forgiving than his disposition.
“Because I aint a kind man. Haven't been for a long while. And I know types of things a man like me would wanna do to a pretty girl like you.”
“I doubt it would be anything new.” You cooed, watching your finger as it traced a line lower over his buttons, stopping at the top of his belt buckle and just shy of teasing at the growing bulge in his trousers.
The tension between you was thicker than molasses. And it seeped through the cracks of his better judgement to the part of him that hungered for touch. That was ravenous for a single one of your fingers.
“I don't think Johnny would like that.”
“And I didnt like the way he spoke to me earlier.” You pouted. The way a child would when dined a sweet treat before dinnertime.
“That aint a good reason to start an affair with me. Because when i get my grubby hands on ya there ain't no going back, doll.”
His words were enticing you more. To have a man obsessing over your body. Your curves. Your voice singing his name as he fucked you dirtier than anyone into anything. Joel was that man now. He knew it in the very marrow of your bones that you were trouble. His new little minx. So it was no surprise when his lips crushed yours under the full weight of his sexual frustration.
It was needy. Heated. A clashing of tongues and teeth as he pressed you with his entire simmering being into the wood of the door. His bulge grinding desperately into your thich that parted his legs.
His tongue swiped your lower lip before drawing it back between his teeth for him to suckle on until it tingled deliciously. He was jealous with his touches. Groping your hips as the sating of your dress that crumpled to the floor. It revealed sweet sweet skin. Skin Joel wasted no time in delving in for the first damning lick. A pleasure to every sense. Sight, taste, touch, smell, sound.
Heavy breaths were exhaled into the dewy skin of your clavicle, tongue languidly sliding over the high points of your collarbones and enclosing in a sharp suck over the skin just above your right breast. It sent a chorus of heavenly sinful, light and airy monas from your mouth and floated into his ears. His lips were chapped and weathered in contrast to the silk smooth of your skin. It was delightful.
He went lower, got to his knees as he drank up the sense of a woman's skin for the first time in years. This was the taste of true damnation. He was past the opening of hell's gates and somehow found heaven in the parting of your thighs down the newly trodden path of your navel.
He pressed his open mouth to your clothed cunt, tasted the seeping slick you gave him on his tongue and gluttonously inhaled your musk right at the apex of your thighs. Your fingers tangled into the curls of his messy, wind wrecked hair. Keening your hips up to press into the curve of his aquiline nose, and riding the burning in the pit of your belly starting to grow. Your head fell back against the door. Your mouth unhinged and letting out moan after sigh after mewl of his name. His face buried between the meat of your thighs as his hands gripped your asscheeks and spread them so he could push his face deeper between your folds. Your underwear drenched and ruined from your wetness and his spit while he tongued your hole through the flimsy lace.
You pulled him back, smirked at the wreck he was with his lips sticky and shiny in the light of your dressing room. To then pull him up to your lips so you could curl your tongue into his mouth and taste yourself on him. It’s where the taste belonged. Among notes of whiskey and chewing tobacco and drugstore gum.
His large hands pawed at your hips once more, listing you so your legs could wrap obediently round his waist. That's how it worked now. He wanted, you gave. And willingly like the sounds that fell into his motu like sweet, freshly harvested honey. Ut had the feel of money. Powerful and green like spring leaves. But with the warning of rotting when summer meets its tragic and fatal end. It was like trying to cross a canyon with a broken limb. Near impossible. The last sip of a drink that would ensure drunken and slurred movements. It took even the nest of a man his entirety to deny you, But deep down, Joel was a weak man. Strong in body, maybe mind too. But weak in soul. And he gave in with the cashing of your back against the vanity mirror.
He had his faults. He knew that. And you did too. It had you wondering how a man like Joel loves. Did he change for his chosen lover? Or was he just as rough a callus as he was with everyone else. Would he destroy and ache and leave you wondering when your body would be at his whim next and how he would bend it to his will. Or would he let you lean into his embrace as he kissed down the column of your throat to the holy entitled epiphany between your thighs. The glisten of your hot cunt aching to be touched by anything. His everything.
So you reached for his belt. So you undid it along with his buttons to touch his heated skin, To feel the blood flow beneath as the strain of each of his muscles. You ran a hand across his chest and he let his head fall back as a woman touched him for the first time as a man of war. A veteran.
He felt like he had been cast in gold by the sun for the first time in his life. Shed his skin for a new layer reserved just for you. As if he was thanking whatever resided up there for you. He was no believer in god, but, Jesus Christ, he was starting to believe in some form of higher power. You were proof that there was a blessing for him to steal away from the world. It was in your sound. Your taste. Your touch. It beckoned him the way your finger did, curling into the collar of his shirt to clash your lips with his and let. He had no autonomy over the moan that fell into his mouth where it festered at the back of his throat and was swallowed with a desperate and heady inhale.
You trod roads into his skin with your touch. Ones he knew he would follow later that night in an erotomaniac’s pleasure. And you finally pulled his length free from his trousers. Your underwear was soon to follow and your slick aided the way he managed to sink so smoothly into your sopping heat. A squeeze he would commit to memory and savour like the taste of fresh and ripe fruit. Because you were. Fresh and youthful in age. Ready to be devoured to the core as a gleaning red apple would be. The very same one that even took in the garden of eden. Temptation. Fruit flesh to signify sin.
He took his first bite out of you with a satisfying crunch. And keep devouring until there was nothing left but the remnants of your birth, ready to be resurrected, grown again in the form of a new tree.
He stilled once he bottomed out, letting himself bask in the moment. The first time he was nestled deeply in the walls of your cunt. He heard your quiet whimpers for him to move. Felt the way your pert nipples brushed his sweat slicked skin. It was a ghost of a memory the last time he felt this. The heat of someone in the throes of intimacy. And it was all over him. It was the very air he wes starved of. The past was all paled in comparison because of the way your hips bucked pathetically to feel his thrust inside you. To get him going. No one had needed him this rawly, this undignifying before.
A single hand clamped over your mouth, stilling your movements. He felt the tickle of your exhale against the pinky finger.
“Stay still…” He commended with a swallowed down groan when you clenched around him, ironically repeating your words from earlier.
You looked at him. The glazed over, far away look in his eyes. His voice low and laden in a gravelly tone that came from the very back of his throat. You pulled him forward to lick it out again with your tongue when his hand fell to your throat. It gave a warning squeeze. And you once again canted your hips in protest.
This time he moved. And it was like poetry as it hit that toe curling spot inside you. Made your eyes close in blissful ignorance of what this would do to you. YOu slick drooling from your cunt onto his shaft until it shined at his very base and dripped down his heavy balls.
His hand squeezed your throat tighter. Had you yelling for him in a suppressed squeal. His other hand clamped around your mouth for you to moan into. Your words of praise lost on his ears, listened to by his palm instead. Every devil was fuelling this act of infidelity. This act of carnal sin you both needed. Ut unwound your bones, but had the coil in your belly cramping with each swift buck of his hips.
You met his swift thrusts in a desperate attempt to be of use to him. Finding it hard to breathe, yet alone Your cunt spasmed delectably. Searching for a new feeling. A feeling primal and dirty as the streets of Boston. Your eyes rolled back in your head as your legs trembled while he went on, giving you something you would remember from this day forward, A sentence of being binded to him.
You were in the arms of the devil himself. St his ,ercy. Nsd nothing felt more thrilling than the pleasure that rolled at a landslide's power and pace down your spine into your core.
Another squeeze round your throat. Another unhinged moan into his hand. He snarled, baring his teeth at you before pressing his face into the crook of your neck and biting down. Your eyes closed and painted a picture of stars. You were close to seeing angels by now and the deep ache of pleasure grappled your flesh and had goosebumps flicking up to attention over your flesh.
His chest heaved with each curl of his hips. Your exhales heavier by the second while you moaned his name like a mantra to his hand. His teeth imprinted on your back like a randhishing. A mark of the sin that was witnessed by the two of you that day. Your voice was shrill. A repeated ‘Joel! Joel! Joel!’
“Fuck, yeah, sing f’me doll. Sing f’me. Let em know who’s doin’ this to you.” He panted in vain. “Tell me.” “Feels so good–”
“Again.” He demanded.
“Feels so good! Too good!”
And it was. He had you burning white hot at the end of an illicit teather. You gripped his back with talons of hellbirds. Clawing at his shirt clad back. The wings of hi shoulderbales. The snake length of his spine.
“That’s it. Tell ‘em. Tell me! Tell me in making you feel fuckin’ good.”
“You are. Harder Joel.” His pace was like poetry. Ripped you in tow and had you displayed to him. One knee was hooked over his hunched shoulder, spine curled as his forehead pressed to yours. `The new angle had you singing like a songbird. High and melodic in tune. Your kitten heel slipping off and clattering to the floor without a second thought. The head of his cock nipped your cervix. The lewd wet sounds of your pussy smothering him in your slick and your shared moans filled the room. Everything of you was his now. You couldn't even think of giving this up to Johnny. Yes, he fucked you dirty. But Joel fucked you like it was his sole purppose of living. Like it was what gave him life.
You fell. You fell as soon as you hit your climax with a mewling moan that ended Joel right there and then. Coming together with heavy breaths and shaking, trembling chests. His release inside of you, strings of his come smearing you in him. Marking you for later. Well and truly ruined for any other warm body that dared to slip into your sheets.
But falling was not the problem. Only when you hit the ground is what causes all the grief. And the look you shared once the gold haze of afterglow faded was what confirmed this.
What have you done? How would you live without this?

Hey I noticed you said you were getting mean asks so I wanted to give you a nice one to counteract it! You have an amazing cute artstyle that lends so well to the horror aspect as it's so deceiving. The fluffiness of the designs is adorable and your Pinkie Pie is LITERALLY the cutest Pinkie I've ever seen (and I've been in the fandom since like 2011)!!! I love the queer rep too! Esp the polyamory. Rarely have I ever seen polyamorous mlp content in the past over a decade, so it's such a treat to see.
Something I've found so interesting with these horror MLP AUs is how much the bury your gays trope (sorta) happens. Normally it'd be a problem but in these AUs there's literally SO many other queer characters that it almost feels like queer folk are almost reclaiming the trope? It's fascinating to see!
Another thing I love with your AU is the focus on background ponies and OCs (but with the inclusions of that adorable Pinkie Pie). Usually in terms of bg ponies all you see in these AUs are Redheart, Cherilee, Derpy, Dr. Hooves, Lyra, and Bonbon imo. There's nothing wrong with any of them, but they're the main ones I've seen. So it's extremely refreshing to see characters other people haven't really used! It's unique!
At some point I might draw some fanart of your characters if I get the energy, I love them a lot even if I have trouble remembering names sometimes.
Oh and I like that you're responsive when fans have questions, so I hope you get other good messages too to fill your inbox with positivity!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH thats so niceys to me.......
i didnt get around to answering it for a bit because. i liked a little joy in my inbox (( and ive been a bit overwhelmed recently ))
i wanna say thank YOU for all the countless support youve given me for my funny little series, im happy to have you around!!!!!!! it makes me sooooo sad how often a lotta queer couples might just be used for drama ((appledashmylittleworms)) or constantlyyyy are getting murdered in front of eachother (( lyra and bonbon in like. every au )) it may be horrifying but love should prevail too!! it sucks to see a lotta stories just be one sided with everything, either they gotta have no ships because its scary or a bunch cuz its silly, you can do both!!!!!!!! i think bonds and relationships regardless of the types are really what make a story a story! and i know theres a lotta smack thrown at polyamory and it makes me so sad, i identified as poly for many years and although i dont anymore i think its CRAAAZY that people get so upset over it.... whats there to hate...... theres just more love for everyone.......
anyway- i just wanted to say thank you sooooo much for everything <3 and if you have any questions anytime id be happy to answer them, in inbox or comments or whichever works best for you!! im happy to engage and get people more immersed in my story! i know that i cant convey a everything perfectly (( thank my epic brain for that)) , i LOOOOVE answering questions. for real. i love quaestions. and although i may get nervous, please know i read everything and really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!1
#salad says!#sorry that was so long ;;;;;#OH and just to say - the inbox is open for the cpc as well you can ask to see stuff (( like ponies or locations ))#thank you again <3

IVE BEEN A GOOD KID AND IVE ACTUALLY LET MYSELF LIKE. THINK ABOUT THE OFFICIAL TRANSLATIONS SO. HERE WE GO BITCHES.
(Along with some other things bouncing around, implications of togachako because of this chapter, maybe even a prediction? This is my FINAL THOUGJTS POST, unless ofc I notice something and I say it BUT HOPEFULLY THIS IS THE LAST AND ITS JUST GONNA BE ME BEING SILLY AND POSTING FANART)
1, i find it funny that Caleb said lickitung than Pikachu since that… totally doesn’t make sense nor was why Twice suggested the name. IDK IM A POKÉMON NERD AND AN MHA FAN SO I JUST FIND IT A LITTLE SILLY.
Like I think Horikoshi chose Pikachu bc it’s the most recognizable Pokémon, along with Himiko’s “chu-chu” noises she makes when she drinks blood ofc, but it was also probably suggested bc… Pikachu has the same blushies that Ochako has…
Not to mention the fact that Pikachu is also representative of Toga’s colors, those of course being red and yellow.
Lickitung makes no sense other than the fact that it paralyzes people/Pokémon by licking them and making them uncomfortable. It’s such a… random gen 1 Pokémon idfk. I can see WHY he chose it, because lickitung is supposed to be a friendly Pokémon that accidentally makes people uncomfortable, but I think Pikachu being said instead just makes far more sense; Pikachu is supposed to be a cute Pokémon. It’s origins in gen 1 were, “I want you to make the cutest Pokémon you can” and the artist Atsuko Nisida had to go through 3-5 iterations of pixel art (bc they would make the pixelated version for the game first AND THEN draw the Pokémon from that) before finally settling on what people call “fat Pikachu” which looked like this
Lickitung works ig by being a Pokémon that ultimately is harmless to people but just accidentally freaks people out and makes them off-put by them, but Pikachu fits much better in a chapter where Ochako calls Himiko’s smile, something we’re supposed to see as creepy, perfect/pretty/beautiful. Comparing her and her cuteness to something like Pikachu just seems like something twice would do anything bc he’s a sweetie like that.
ALSO ANOTHER THING FOR PEOPLE WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT POKÉMON: reguri is I think the most popular ship? That might be beat by Selena/ash and misty/ash, but regardless it’s super popular and also is EXTREMELY SIMILAR to bkdk.
This does depend on which version of them you’re talking about, but personally when I read pokespe (the most popular official Pokémon manga, there’s others but that’s just the most well known one) I always thought bkdk were so similar to red/blue to the point it was uncanny. At the time I thought “eh that’s just gay rival tropes there’s tons of other characters in other anime/manga/tv that are similar to them too” but after the mention OF Pikachu and Toga’s purposeful similarities I do wonder if horikoshi was a Pokémon fan in the 90’s during his childhood. That wouldn’t surprise me seeing as the games were such a booming success in Japan (literally it’s the most sold Pokémon games ever nothing has beat it since), so it would make sense if horikoshi was a secret Pokémon fan.
I mean, blues hair is even similar to bakugous but idk, maybe it’s a stretch.
They’re not childhood friends in pokespe, but they are childhood friends in the games, blue bullying him as they got older and pushing red away, red goes and has an emo arc on mount silver by himself without telling anyone, eventually comes down from that mountain in black and white 2 where red and blue are starting to be friends again, and I don’t think they’re seen again until sun and moon where they’re on vacation together in alola. There’s other outside game content that has just… progressively gotten more gay.
AGAIN, IM NOT SURE IF HORIKOSHI HAS READ THE POKESPE MANGA OR IF HE PUT THIS MUCH THOUGHT INTO IT! However I WILL say that if you enjoy bkdk you will probably enjoy reguri and the pokespe manga, especially since it has a more interesting plot than the anime or games, along with being less corny. It’s a lot more… I don’t wanna say graphic but honest? It wasn’t really made in mind that it would be targeted overseas like all the other Pokémon stuff, so it’s just more honest about environmental issues and pet abuse and things like that. Red and blues character arcs and friendship, along with Leaf’s character arc is very interesting just by itself, highly recommend.
MOVING ON… my Pokémon nerdiness aside, I love Himiko’s defiance to conform to hero society especially as a villain. Will she go against this vow because she sees herself as a full fledged villain? I wasn’t really sure.
She didn’t, which is great, but I also think those themes of pity and feeling like Ochako is still looking down on her… remind me exactly of Katsuki.
I also find this page and what toga says quite interesting.
Saying that she KNEW ochako was sad too, that’s a VERY interesting observation to make when thinking of someone you “hate”.
And I like the distinction that Ochako wasn’t afraid of Toga because of her smile being creepy, or that she was trying to harm her or tsu, but because she couldn’t understand why she was smiling during a fight.
More bakugou vibes/lines
If/when they ARE canon, explicitly and completely and all that, then that would make mha a, and idk if it’s the first, shonen GL + BL. That would be fucking crazy.
ALSO THIS? THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT AN IZU//OCHA MOMENT… let me explain.
It’s a couple of things: Ochako is not explicitly saying how she wishes she could talk about her love with Izuku, instead it seems to be more framed as talking ABOUT Izuku.
He’s not even looking at her, and she’s not looking at him; no, instead Ochako and Himiko are looking at each other, and talking about the importance to talk about your feelings openly, how she admires that quality to Himiko.
In a way this is Ochako saying “No, don’t become like him, this is why I admire you. That trait makes you admirable, it’s a trait I love in you.”
And lastly, that marriage proposal. Is it REALLY a marriage proposal? How romantic or platonic is this this scene?
Well, I went back and read chapter 348 to find out, and a little detail disregarded, not only by me but everyone else, was the line, “If you ask me, being a couple means being one and the same. Makes sense right? Nothing else… would fulfill my desires.”
And then ochako in 393, purposely bearing her feelings to Himiko and offering her blood to her? Even with this knowledge? The knowledge that Himiko would see this as a confession? Fucking crazy.
For all her flaws, I can perfectly picture why Ochako would prefer someone who sees romance like she does, openly unapologetic about her feelings like she is, over someone who can’t even see a teenage girls confession as an actual confession of love. Way to be selfish Izuku.
(God he would be SO offended at all the shit talking I’ve been doing to him recently HAHA! BUT HE NEEDS TO HEAR IT BC HES AN IDIOT WHO SHOULD BE TAKING HIS FEELINGS SERIOUSLY. How are you going to let the hot headed blonde kid that bullied you be better at this. HOW.)
So yes, I think this is so explicitly romantic, I literally thought this scene would never fucking happen because I KNEW how gay it was, how gay everyone KNEW it was—but god damn. Horikoshi you mad man.

do you think we could maybe have the Gang’s reactions to the reader coming into work after having spontaneously cut their previously longer hair the night before? I swear I’m one listen to brother by kodaline away from doing it
please, and thank you
STOPP THIS IS SUCH A GOOD PROMPT BC IVE DONE THIS BEFORE multiple times.
yes I absolutely can
The Gang's reaction to reader impulse cutting their hair shorter!
CW/info:Gn reader! Sfw!
Characters: Reagan, Gigi, Andre, and Brett (I'm sorry Myc and Glenn lovers idk how to write them at ALL)
☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Brett:
- barely questions it tbh?
- not that he doesn't have any questions, he's just more concerned about how you're feeling rather than how your hair looks
- LISTENNN he's been friends with so many people in college and high-school. Most of there reactions to an emotional break down was cutting their hair or dying it impulsively
- After you reassure him you're doing fine and that it was just a spur of the moment thing, he's just very supportive! Says it looks very good on you!!
- even offers to help you style it bc he 100% owns like 15 tubs if hair gel
Reagan:
- Tries really hard to mind her own business and not be rude by asking but you can just. Feel her staring at your hair every 5 seconds
- "If you're gonna ask, just ask."
- "what the fuck happened to your hair?"
- YOU EXPLAIN IT WAS A SPUR OF THE MOMENT THING OK???
- YOU WERE LISTENING TO MUSIC. YOU WERE IN YOUR FEELING AND U JUST KINDA. Snip snip yknow?
- she honestly can't judge you because she's pretty sure she's done the same thing when she was drunk before
- gives you a shitty little comb and tells u to at least try and brush down the uneven ends so it looks normal and offered to take you to her place after work
- she's not a professional or anything, but she can do something basic to make it look good. (Like have u seen her hair in the wedding episode... it's so cute)
Gigi:
- the moment she sees you she's like "OH MY GOD NOOO😭"
- You worry she doesn't like that it's short. She assures you it's not the fact that it's short, it's the fact that you impulse cut it in the messiest way possible
- drops everything she is doing to give you the cutest make over ever.
- actually makes you feel even more confident than before about your new appearance??
- she tells you next time you want to cut your hair to TELL HER and she will always find a way to make it work. She wants you to be happy!♡
Andre:
- ok be real he probably cares the least bc his hair care routine is just like. The generic shampoo and conditioner and wash. No styling or anything
- so if you walked in missing like half your hair from the lower half bc you cut off he'd just be like "!! Nice cut!"
- might just impulsively walk up to you and start petting your hair without saying anything. He just wants to see how it feels
- HONESTLY... I rlly can't see him having a big reaction. He just. Does not care and would support it

HQ boys as Love Songs
a/n: Uhhhhhh hi so I made this and I wanted to include some of my favorite artist. I thought why not do one of theses with artist other than most of ones ive seen. If you haven’t heard some of these songs and artist nows a chance to enjoy some new music. Please enjoy the music links I’ve made for you and let me know if you want more
Bokuto Yebba’s Heartbreak by Drake/Yebba
“And all the times you wasn't chosen, well, I'll make it up to you
All of the feelings you're not showing
When your river's overflowing, mmm”
Bokuto falls in love with you the moment he meets you. He knows people talk about how love at first sight isn’t real but all he can think about when he sees you is how he wants to have you in his life forever.Bokuto knows you can handle things on your own but he wants to shelter you through any storm that comes. You have his heart and if there's ever a time when you feel overwhelmed or that everything is just too much Bokuto will always be there to wipe away every tear that may drop. He loves you too deeply to ever watch you fall.
Kita Picture Perfect by Jhene Aiko
“Too perfect of a thing
Too a perfect, you're a dream
Too good to touch
Too good, too much
Much too perfect to be reality”
Loving you feels like a dream, it’s so calm and blissful and Kita can’t help but to catch himself randomly smiling at the thought of you. You have him under a spell. He finds himself daydreaming of you any moment he gets. Getting to see your smile makes Kita’s heart skip a beat. In any reality or dimension Kita knows he’d fall in love with you each and every time. The words fall past his lips so easily. He’s like a kid who has found an endless supply of candy. He feels himself blushing and getting shy at the mere thought of you. You are the soft melodic feeling that Kita has been waiting for and he never wants to lose the feeling
Suna Frozen by Sabrina Claudio
“Cover the window and come uncover me
Let's forget the world even exists
Cause nothing compares to this”
Suna feels like his heart might jump out of his chest. He’s never felt like this over someone. The way your skin feels against his and the way your breathing has calmed he can tell you are asleep. He refuses to move for the fear that he may disturb you. You look so beautiful like this. The world seems to fade away and all that's left is you. There’s your tank top that keeps falling off your shoulder. There’s the blanket that covers the two of you. There you snoring ever so softly but it's the cutest thing Suna has ever seen. And there’s him. There’s Suna laying with you holding your head against his chest and wondering what he did to deserve you. Suna isn’t sure and he’s not sure if he’ll ever know. All he can think right now is how he never wants this moment to end.
Ushijima Everything by Kehlani
“Love the way you teach me
Love the way you listen
You know all my details
You so damn attentive”
Ushijima feels so shy around you. His tall and strict demeanor crumbles whenever you’re around. You know so much about him and he is the same. He can’t help but pay such close attention to you. From your favorite color to your favorite book he knows all of it. He likes to keep track of all these things so that he can gift you with your favorite things to show you his love. He’s not great with his words but he is a giver. He’s so good at listening to you. He pays attention and is thoughtful. He’s a man of very little words but his actions speak a thousand words within themself.
Sakusa Find someone like you by Snoh Aalegra
“Nothing's ever perfect but you're perfect to me (uh huh)
And fuck bein' asleep, you're a dream, I need you
Though we got a past, I want you, yeah
And even when it's bad, I love you”
Sakusa knows he can be a bit difficult to be with. He knows he’s a lot to handle yet somehow you love him through it all. He’s never loved someone so deeply. With you everything feels different. He feel like he’s floating on cloud nine with you around. You’re so sweet and gentle with him and Sakusa can imagine living in a world without you. You’re so perfect to him. He has spent his entire life desiring the feeling of needing something and he’s finally found that in you. Sakusa needs you more than anything in this world. He feels so at peace around you. He can’t believe he’s found someone like you. He can only dream that you feel the same way as him.

Terrapin Soup Part 9 (1/7)
After a round of showers Usagi stepped back into his room to see Leo sitting on his bed fairly focused on his phone. He had in fact stolen one of Usagi's shirts which might just be the cutest thing he's seen possibly ever.. The dark mask he wore earlier was no where to be found and since he had just been in the shower the wraps on his arms were missing too. He liked seeing Leo like this.. So casual and unguarded.. Usagi gently knocked on the door frame letting him know he was there, Leo perked up and smiled more seeing Usagi with his ears down again, god he was cute.. He scooted over leaving room for Usagi to join him as he set his phone down. "Dee said Hyo's fine, he's stable and should be good to come home tomorrow as long as he doesn't over do it. And I told Raph I'd be home soon, after we go to your place and get whatever you might need to spend the night. I-If you still want to that is.." "I'm glad he's alright, and yes Leo. I'm still planning to stay the night." He chuckled as he scooted closer, resting his head against the sliders shoulder, "I'm glad you bought us a bit of time though, I was hoping to properly thank you for tonight." Leo looked down at him, very confused as to what he meant, "But I thought you did? You said thank you like twice and y'know- We kissed downstairs, was that not a proper thank you?" Usagi looked back up at him unamused, "It was, but don't you recall I said, 'if we both come back in one piece I'll kiss your wounds better and then some' hm?" Leo blushed a bit nodded, "Well.. Yeah, but I didn't know if you were serious or just saying things to get me to go-" "You're very cute when you're confused, did you know that?" Leo rolled his eyes and wrapped an arm around Usagi pulling him closer, "Excuse you- I'm cute all the time~" "True... Then, you are especially cute when you're confused, and when you do that thing where you tilt your head to the side, like an animal trying to understand the language." Leo rolled his eyes again gently nudging him, "I'm taking that as a compliment. But we probably shouldn't be gone much longer, Raph is like, the king of worry. I'm giving you like.. Fifteen minutes, get some pajamas and whatever you need for the night."
"Would you be opposed for staying like this a bit longer? I only need five to get ready anyway. " Leo thought about it for a moment, he really didn't need much convincing. "Mm.. Fine, only cause you're so soft and fluffy. But only ten minutes alright? Then you can help me re-wrap my arms and we'll head out." "Mhmm. Anything you say love."
-_-_-_-
Donatello pulled his mug of the shelf in their kitchen, filling it with 90% ristretto and 10% creamer. He saw the tech on the wrist light up and gave a tired glance. He hadn't been sleeping as well as he could have with the series of new projects he'd been hyper-focusing on lately. Seeing the alert he spat the sip he'd just taken and slammed his mug down going to the medbay to get April.
This was not the day he was hoping to have.
Not in the slightest.
"April-!" He called as he pulled the fabric curtain back, hoping there'd been no issues. She perked up from the beanbag chair in the corner, she'd been peacefully doing her homework with her phone beside her playing some music quietly.
She perked up a little surprised that he didn't just text her, "What's up? Did something happen to the mutant dude?" Donne hesitated but nodded and made his way over to April showing her his notification, "I might have added some of my nanotech into the IV Leo gave our patient. It's revolutionary stuff really, it circulates the bloodstream doing dozens of internal scans so even if my external scanner is in use or not close by I can still be connected to the vitals and see what's going on. And even-" "Donnie get to the point!" "Right right sorry- Part of the functions was not only monitoring the system but also tracking what passes though! And as we all know it takes about 40 hours before what you've eaten fully passes and becomes untraceable-" "..I didn't know that." Part 9.2

What about Enid (with Thing's assistance) tickles Wednesday bc she saw her smile once and really wants to see her dimples. (Hope this is ok. Just thought it would be cute lol. Jenna's dimples might be the cutest thing ive ever seen)
Oh! I actually had an idea similar to this, where Wednesday was trying to ask for tickles from Enid, but was struggling so Thing decided to tickle her to show Enid what she wanted, and I may end up writing that but right now I like this one more!
Smiles of laughter
Characters: Lee! Wednesday; Ler! Enid, Ler! Thing
Warnings: Death mention, tickle fic.
Enid’s fingers slowly moved the nail varnished covered brush down Thing’s sprawled out fingers, who was laying like a cat in front of Enid’s cross legged. Her movements were slower, and more absentminded because there was one image that she couldn’t take out of her mind. Wednesday Addams smiling. It seemed virtually impossible, totally out of character for the goth girl, but Enid caught a small glimpse of it earlier today when she entered the room.
Wednesday hadn’t even realised Enid saw her, she thought her face was mostly covered by the book she was reading, but it didn’t hide her rare joy to see her friend. The two had barely spoke tonight, Enid had no idea how to bring it up, or even to get her to smile again. Her thoughts were interrupted by a frantic tapping onto the vibrant covers of her bed. Looking back down at the severed appendage, she noticed some of the nail polish she was applying had accidentally been brought down to its finger. ‘Oh! I’m sorry, Thing!’ The girl quickly apologised, which caused Wednesday to briefly look at the two before turning back to her book. The werewolf reached her hand over to her drawer and pulled out a wipe and cleaned off the polish from Thing’s fingers, who shrugged at her, asking her why she lost focus. Enid stared down at Thing, then over to Wednesday to confirm she wasn’t paying attention, then back to Thing. She reached over and placed the hand on her shoulder, tilting her neck away from Wednesday as she spoke to it. ‘You gotta promise me you’re not gonna tell anyone,’ she prompted, which Thing tilted at, seemingly asking why. ‘Because she’ll kill me if anyone knows about this!’ She said in a whisper shout, which made Thing get the message as they waited patiently for an answer. ‘I saw her smile earlier.’ Thing practically jumped upwards in surprise, and Enid quickly raised her arms and caught the hand mid air. Wednesday turned again and raised an eyebrow, Enid could feel her heart beating faster as a bit of colour moved to her cheeks. ‘He..fell,’ she said slowly, not being able to think of any other convincing lie. Wednesday let out a small hum in response, not having the energy to retort against the girl.
Enid let out a sigh of relief as she turned to Thing was a disgruntled expression who apologetically tapped her wrist. Enid let out another low sigh and dropped Thing onto the bed, who crawled back onto her lap. He tilted at the Nevermore student, questioning what she’d do next which Enid also shrugged at. She let him crawl back up to her shoulder and kept talking, leaning her head back onto her bed frame. ‘It’s just..her smile was so pretty..’ she gushed quietly, her own smile curling onto her face as she played with a lock of her hair ‘and I don’t really know how to get her to smile more.’ Thing would smile at the girl if he could, the bond the two girls had was something different, it was stronger then anything else in the school walls. Though, it seemed like a small lightbulb went off inside of him when he thought of a solution to Enid’s problem. He moved closer across her shoulder and began gently scribbling his nails against her exposed neck. Her breathing hitched against the unexpected touch and she batted his fingers away, squirming her legs slightly as she bit on her lip to not let any laughter out. Thing quickly brought his newly painted nails away, seeing the girl already struggle to keep in her laughter. ‘Thing!’ She hissed at him with a quiet voice. ‘What was that for?’ He tapped on the bed, and then pointed over to Wednesday. Enid tilted her head in confusion at the hand, but something clicked inside her Jane he wiggled his fingers. Wednesday Addams was…ticklish? A second light bulb went off and her mouth went into a small ‘o’ shape. ‘That’s how I can make her smile!’ She whisper shouted at thing, her own smile curling onto her face as she looked down at a rather proud, or smug, it’s hard to tell, Thing.
Wednesday had been buried in her book for the last half an hour, and only recently had drawn her attention away to Enid and Thing. She knew the two could be hiding something, seeing as it wasn’t in Enid’s typical nature to remain quiet, but maybe she was being considerate for once. It wasn’t until she felt her mattress sink that she peered upwards, and saw an unusually happy Enid. Well, it wasn’t unusual for her to be happy, but she seemed even more overjoyed at the moment. She raised an eyebrow, almost expecting Enid to speak before breaking the silence. ‘Wouldn’t you prefer to stay on your own side?’ She prompted her to leave, though it was more polite then what she’d say to other people. ‘No, I think I prefer it here actually!’ She smiled even wider, which struck Wednesday as a little off. ‘If you want something, you have to ask for it,’ she said, deciding it to be the reason for the girl’s unusual behaviour. Truth be told, the colourful girl was only distracted her while Thing crawled onto the other side of the bed, leaving Wednesday between the two. ‘Well, I guess there is something I want,’ she said, leaning her back against the bed frame as she tilted her neck to be able to look at Wednesday. ‘Well, spit it out now then, Sinclair,’ she ordered, looking up at the girl expectantly.
As the words let her mouth, she felt a long nail begin to trace upwards from her hip. She flinched back towards Enid, turning to see Thing next to her, when Enid’s hand began squeezing her side. ‘Hm, whatever your doing, you should s-stop it, now,’ she barked out, trying to keep her composure. She did manage to keep a straight face and her laughter remained bottled up in her throat, but Enid could tell her methods were working. Like most things with Wednesday, she managed to keep her reactions very well hidden, but her roommate always noticed when something was off, like how she stuttered when she was talking, or the way she recoiled from Thing’s touch. ‘You really are ticklish!’ Enid gasped out, letting her hand trail over to Wednesday’s stomach. Given that Wednesday had rarely been tickled before, she was finding it increasingly difficult to find a way to react. Instinctively, she tried grabbing at Enid’s hands but that proved useless once Thing’s fingertips shot into her armpits. She pulled her arms down to her sides, and tried to refrain from kicking her legs. She bit down on her inner cheek, an action that thankfully went unnoticed by the two.
‘Come on, why don’t you laugh? Or at least smile, for me?’ Enid offered, but it was more of a demand as her king colourful nails sink into Wednesday’s stomach, making the girl wince, not out of pain, but out of annoyance from the tickling. Well, sort of. She did it on purpose, because she truthfully didn’t mind the tickling. She could never admit that though, it was too childish and happy of an interest that even her carefree self wouldn’t be able to admit it in the slightest, which she luckily wouldn’t have to do. ‘Hm, what if I tickle you right..here?’ Enid asked, scratching a single finger at the girl’s navel. With the tickling focused at a single, small spot, it became a lot harder to keep her composure. Her leg kicked once suddenly, her eyes squinted ever so slightly in seeming frustration and she couldn’t even open her mouth to send a remark at Enid, fearing that her La if her would pour out if she did. ‘Oh, that definitely got a reaction out of you!’ Wednesday shook her head quickly, denying her roommate’s accusation which Enid giggled at. ‘
‘Okay then, not here..then what about here?’ She asked, pinching and circling her fingers at the girl’s thighs. While her thighs weren’t her most sensitive spot, they were still fairly ticklish and it was becoming increasingly more difficult to keep a straight face. She allowed the edges of her lips to curl ever so slightly, it felt as if a weight was lifted, but an even heavier one was put on her when she felt a subtle scratching at her ribs from Thing. Her legs kicked once more, before she planted her heels against the bed, inching away from Thing’s fingers. ‘Oh, you must have found a good spot up there, huh?’ Enid teases once more, which just made the tickling all the more worse. The goth had no idea how to respond to teasing at all, she felt like she wanted to curl up, but didn’t want to look weak. It wasn’t until Enid’s nails suddenly plunged into the back of her knees that she lost her composure. Her legs jolted away from her nails, she softly batted at Thing and a very small smile made its way onto her face. With her having no idea what to do, she dropped her book onto her face to hide it muffled laughter poured out of her mouth. ‘Nahaahahahahaah!’
The sound made Enid perk up as she turned to the rather adorable sight. ‘Aw, Wednesday, you really should laugh more, it’s adorable!’ She cooed, scribbling her against her knees. Wednesday instinctively curled her knees closer to her, which just gave Enid a chance to crawl up to her. She pulled the book from her face as Thing continuously tapped at her ribs like a piano, and all she could do was try and wiggle away from him, or slap down on his fingers, which she much preferred. Needless to say, Enid could’ve practically melted at the sight that she saw. Wednesday’s eyes were squinted slightly, and her smile was so unbelievably pretty. She took a couple of seconds to just pause and stare down, more and more laughter being let out by the girl causing her to blush even more. ‘Staahaahahahap!’ Wednesday ordered, trying to sound threatening which was hard through all the laughter.
‘Oh! Right! Of course!’ Enid nodded, shaking her head and blinking a bit before shooing Thing away gently. Wednesday took in some deep breaths through her nose, fixing her face to her neutral, somewhat disgruntled expression before sitting up and turning to Enid. ‘If you tell anyone about this-,’ she started, but was quickly interrupted ‘yeah, you’ll kill me, I know, I won’t!’ Enid reassured her, which caused Wednesday to sigh and look away. After a moment of consideration, she asked ‘why did you do that?’
Enid took a few seconds to think. She didn’t really want to lie to Wednesday, but she wasn’t sure how she’d react. Still, her kind nature wouldn’t allow her to do she decided to tell her the truth. ‘I..wanted to see you smile,’ she said cautiously, ‘it’s pretty.’ She added.
Wednesday sat in silence for a couple of moments, before looking up to a somewhat worried Enid.
‘Yours is too.’
