can you IMAGINE the political discourse around reproductive rights in a universe where soulmates exist.
anti-choicer: you're killing someone's soulmate with an abortion! pro-choicer: you can't kill a soulmate with an abortion, because fate knows that fetus isn't going to be born in the first place! The abortion is destined to happen!

Idk how to explain properly, but I’m a really big fan of the dynamic you portray between Marcille and Falin. I’ve always loved . idk how to say.. divorce? trouble-in-paradise? arcs/portrayals that look at problems in otp, and yours is super interesting. Sorry if this is weird just wanted to say :)
not weird at all! im flattered, thanks!
i wasnt really into farcille at first, mostly i was just impressed an f/f ship managed to be the fandom's no1, basically proving that when two female characters in a mostly male dominated cast are allowed to bond with each others and be their own characters people will latch on to them
mostly though aro touden siblings is still my no1 and even back then i didnt care about shipping because any type of romantic relationship in dunmeshi is less interesting than the potential of political intrigue the worldbuilding set up (yes, even chilchuck's failing marriage is less interesting to me than how living in the dungeon was safer for the orcs than being neighbors to human civilization) (shocking, i know)
but it all changed when i saw the daydream hour about marcille thinking falin looks cute in feminine clothing while falin herself is obviously uncomfortable with it
i can't sleep. i have to think about this. i have to think about how it's their first love and their first relationship and one is going in blind while the other set up her expectations based on a harlequin romance novel. they are NOT in the same wavelength at all and neither of them are particularly good at communicating their intention, with falin who grew up a convenient kid because she thought it was the least she could do for her family and marcille who frankly speaking was used to being treated as someone superior back at the magic school
thank god kabru exists because who else is going to give them a real advice for their very real relationship? chilchuck will be like "okay just break up" while not seeing the mirror to his own relationship with his runaway wife. senshi, wise as he is, is never in a romantic relationship. laios would be like :((( you guys are fighting? and gets stressed out on his own which makes it even more stressful to the girls. namari is like. "i, uh, please talk to kabru."
anyway theres also the bonus comic about falin inviting marcille to watch daltian clan's opera adaptation and while there is something to say about marcille thinking the humans playing elves doesn't fit her aesthetic (and the difference of societal expectations of dressing up as a different race in dunmeshi universe compared to in ours) all i can think of is that in modern day au where daltian clan has a movie adaptation marcille has a tumblr blog where she posts Hate on the daltian clan movie tag and calling it criticism which it is but also not the place, girl, go to rotten tomatoes for that
falin also has a tumblr and she and marcille had no idea the other is a tumblr user. falin made a post like "just watched daltian clan with my gf i get why shes really obsessed with it now" and marcille, against her better judgement replies to the post like "really sorry that you were misled by your girlfriend like that, you should read the novels instead, it's way better."
laios who sees falin looking shocked at her phone asks whats up and then after receiving the answer says "wow sounds like a real jerk! just block them"
anyway thats my modern day farcille when there's no high fantasy problems involved

Welcome!
@ryin-silverfish here, also known as "That person who talks a lot about FSYY and fox spirits".
This is my little LMK AU sideblog, which started off as a bunch of disjointed background notes for my fanfics, but developed into its own gigantic thing over time.
I've said elsewhere that, despite LMK (and many other JTTW adjacent works) lifting certain tidbits wholesale from FSYY——like Nezha's backstory or the Golden Dragon Shears, neither the show nor the fanworks really go into the implications of a FSYY/JTTW combined universe.
(For one, Zhao Gongming's three sisters, the Sanxiao, showing up to kick Jin and Yin's butts for stealing and breaking their treasure would be very satisfying, and also hella badass.)
Well, be the change you want, they said.
So here it is: Journey of the Gods, aka "LMK, but FSYY is also canon and an extremely influential historical event".
Inspired by @digitaldoeslmk 's By the Book AU.
What even is FSYY?
"Ancient China's bloodiest bureaucracy recruitment program, kickstarted by a king who simped too hard for the creator goddess of humanity and the fox girl she sent to end his dynasty."
"I'll write my own God-Demon novel, with blackjacks and fox hookers and no Buddhist allegories!" ——Xu Zhonglin/Lu Xixing/Li Yunxiang
Okay, jokes aside: Investiture of the Gods(Fengshen Yanyi) is the other big "God-Demon Novel" of the Ming dynasty, written after JTTW. It's about the toppling of the Shang dynasty and its tyrannical King Zhou by King Wu of Zhou——but with more Daoism, immortals and demons helping out both sides, and ten billion magical formations and treasures.
At the end of the story, almost everyone who died in battle were deified and became the 365 gods of the Celestial Bureaucracy, thus "Investiture of the Gods".
Here is a link to the only full English translation of FSYY, by Gui Zhizhong.
Here is my overview of FSYY's grand overarching conflict, a.k.a. "Why are all the Daoist immortals fighting?"
Compared to JTTW, it's a lot more formulaic and suffers from a massive character count inflation problem, but also extremely influential in Chinese folk religion, to the point of some modern temples, like Qingyang Palace, basically worshiping characters from the novel! Like, the western equivalent would be a church worshiping Dante and Beatrice from the Divine Comedy.
Tumblr media
(Similarly, it is to orthodox Daoism what the Divine Comedy is to medieval Christian theology, and should not be treated as actual religious scriptures.)
Okay, FSYY happened in the LMK universe. So What?
Well, first, it will really do wonders to fill up that eerily empty Celestial Realm we see in the Spider Queen special, and the Celestial Bureaucracy will no longer consist of a grand total of five people.
Secondly, it can solve some major show-not-tell problems and actually give legitimacy to the grievances of the LMK Brotherhood + Havoc in Heaven, as well as fleshing out the Celestial Realm.
Third, so many cool magical treasures.
Fourth, LBD gets an origin story, with a twist.
Fifth, I delight in quality angst and horror, and FSYY had some seriously messed-up stuff and implications.
Sixth, Celestial Bureaucracy office politics.
Seventh, Nezha kicking asses and winning fights like he should.
Eighth, crazy Xianxia shit, as you’d expect from the great-granddaddy of modern Xianxia genre.
Ninth, infodumps about Chinese mythos and history trivias.
Tenth, Underworld lore.
...As you can probably tell, this is mostly just me nerding out and writing walls of texts. I'm not a very good artist and can't do Lego style, but will probably doodle some symbol/character designs for funsies.
I also derive most of my enjoyment from writing fix-its and worldbuilding, not shipping characters. Like, I love exploring individual characters through relationships, but just ain't a fan of romance.
There will be a lot of OCs, but unless otherwise specified, all of them will be based on actual characters from FSYY and JTTW, with a few folk gods sprinkled in for funsies.
With that taken care of: good luck and happy reading!

Supernatural/Trolls Crossover - Branch Winchester AU (Part 1 - Childhood)
Okay so recently I got into the supernatural TV show...for the worldbuilding...and during this I was writing out my Trolls Aus. Something Clicked and this idea sparked to life.
So, Branch as a child, not that long after Grandma was killed, maybe just after, would be somehow sent to the Supernatural universe.
Little Branch is utterly terrified. He trapped in a body that isn't his own (human transformation) and in a place he doesn't recognize. The woods surrounding him, appears giant but with very tiny trees. Leaves are now the size of his foot, and not big enough to be a blanket. Eventually some forest rangers find him. At first he's scared, but they escort him to the local police station, under the belief that Branch is just a victim of a family camping trip gone wrong. At the station Branch only shuts down more, the officers, are asking him all these questions some of them he doesn't know the answer too. He doesn't know he last name, he doesn't know what an address is, and for some reason these people aren't taking him seriously when he tries to tell them that his Grandma was eaten by bergens.
Enter John Winchester. He's in town following up on a lead for Bobby, so far it seems like nothing is going on when he visits the police station claiming to be part of some kind of wild-life agency. Things seem clean until one of the officers point out a tiny child sitting in the station, "Kid Claims his grandmother was killed by a giant monster. Probably just a victim of a wolf attack. Poor kid." "Any other family near by?" "Not that we can find, there hasn't been a missing persons report for him or his grandmother, and no one recognizes him."
Hunter instincts going off, John approaches Branch. Granted, he doesn't believe everything that comes out of the kids, mouth, like how he thought he was a troll, but he does listen when it comes to topic of Monsters and Bergens. By the end of it, John thinks that Branch was part of a fairy worshiping cult, that screwed-up a ritual. Either way it's a lead, and frankly this is a first for John, and for some reason he can't leave this kid alone. Maybe it had something to do with Branch being right in between his boys ages, or maybe this kid is part of the hunting world in someway, but Branch is taken back to the hotel to stay with the young Winchester boys.
Little Sam is excited to have a new friend, but Dean is more cautious, maybe even a little stress. After all Branch is just another kid to look out for on top of sammy. That first day, with John out looking for a "cult" is awkward. Sam keeps trying to get Branch to play but Branch only stays huddled up in the corner, watching the windows, and refusing to leave or go near the door to the room. Sam gripes to Dean about it, but Dean tells him that Branch just shy, and maybe needs some time to be sad. John told Dean about how Branch lost his grandmother, but not Sammy.
John doesn't come back to the hotel that night, so Dean has to put the younger boys to bed. Sam conks out easily enough, but Branch is still scared. Dean ends up trying to talk to Branch to sleep, and eventually opens up about how he lost his mom to these kind of things.
B: Bergens?
D: I don't think so, but it wasn't a nice monster. What are Bergens exactly?
B: They're big scary monsters that eat us.
D: They eat you?
B: Once a year, on Trollistice, we called it the harvest though. Eating us makes the Bergens happy.
D: And your Grandma was taken on Trollistice?
B: No, it was supposed to be safe outside, one of the Bergens must have gotten hungry early.
D: Is that why you don't want to leave the hotel room?
B: *nods*
D: Well don't worry, my dad is the best monster hunter there is, nothing going to get you when your here with us.
The next morning, John would come back, empty handing hunting wise, but he brought fast food for his boys, branch included. Branch was a little more alive this morning, actually talking with Sam about a book he was reading. Dean would tell his dad about the conversation he had with Branch last night. The once a year harvest, makes him think Pagen God sacrifice, and he calls Bobby to see if his friend has anymore information. There are a few legends that fit the bill, but each of them have an Achilles heel that makes them impossible. John stays in town for another week, before giving up. What ever happened to Branch has either stopped on its own, or moved on. He's packing up his boys, when the question of what too do with Branch comes up. Dropping the kid off with social services is possible, the workers there would probably take Branch's rambling as just a kid trying to cope with a traumatic home life, but that could also mean getting attention of Social Services on his boys. He could look for any of Branches family, but that might mean running into more cultists. With a little convincing from his sons John decides to keep Branch.
They retreat back to Bobby Singer's place, because, John needs to restock on hunter supplies, and Bobby could help him fake papers for Branch. Together they'd make a paper trail, that to any official it would look like Branch was found by John and Mary as an abandoned baby, then they took him in a closed adoption. This is the best they can do, because Branch doesn't look a thing like his boys, bright blue eyes, jet black hair, and a much darker skin tone then the rest of them. John sits down with Branch and explains what this means. If anyone is to ask, John was his father and had always been his father.
Any hesitation about the adoption is quickly forgotten after the boys stayed at Bobby's for a week. Branch proves himself to be smart, wickedly smart. He's asking Bobby all about the charm in his house, why there was salt on his windows, and anything else that has to do wit hunting. Bobby can tell when he explains the reason behind everything, that Branch commits it to memory. The kid would study, hunter books, on omens, demons, and anything else supernatural. After the week, Bobby could ask Branch "How do you kill *insert supernatural creature*?" and more then often Branch would answer correctly.
"I don't know where this kid came from John, but if I had to make a bet I'd say a hunting family. This kid was born to be one of us," - Bobby Singer.
Years pass, and Branch is raised a Winchester boy. It's a bit of a transition going from the youngest in a pack of five, to the middle of group of three, but Branch manages. He's close to Dean with all the hunting stuff, though Branch's drive to learn is more wanting to protect himself, rather then pleasing John. Sam and him get along with similar academic minds, they also enjoy teasing Dean. Branch's childhood is filled with monsters and hunting and constant moving, but it's better then living in a hole in the ground, and here he has brothers who won't leave.
Or at least until Sam goes to College. The fight between John and Sam shakes Branch up, and he eventually comes clean to Dean about his bio-brothers. Though at this point, Branch fully believes their cult theory, rather then that he was a troll from a world of magic and felt, so he isn't sure what exactly is true or his "imagination" but he remembers the fight after the show clearly. Dean is pissed off when he learns that Branch had brothers, and they all left him behind. He can't be mad at Sammy for pursuing his dreams, and Branch doesn't blame their younger brother either, but these strangers who Dean thinks screwed Branch over in a cult he'll hate them forever. Dean promises to never leave Branch of his own choice.
The pilot of season one, comes along, and with John missing Branch and Dean have to reluctantly go to sam for help. Well Dean's more excited then reluctant. Branch doesn't see the point of going to Sam, he doesn't hate his little brother, never in a million years, but form his POV Sam left he doesn't want anything to do with the family anymore. This is only further solidified when Branch meets Jess. Sam had his own family now. So, it's shocking for him when Sam agrees.
While on mission, Branch doesn't get involved with Sam and Dean's mommy issues. It's not his place, and he knows it, even if Mary Winchester is legally his late mother, he's never met her. When Dean gets arrested, Branch and Sam flee, they investigate Welch during which they work out their issues with each other, because Branch had been distant since they reunited. Branch explains that he's not mad at Sam, he just doesn't want to get close only for Sam to cut him off again. Which leads to Branch explain how he had been abandoned, and Sam reassuring Branch that he just wanted to get away from hunting, and that his issues with dad didn't extend to Branch or Dean. Then they call Dean, and the woman in white appears in the back seat. The woman in white can't really do much to him, unlike his brothers, girls have never really been branch's thing. Dean likes to tease him often about still being a virgin at 24. So, he can't be unfaithful to anyone or made unfaithful. But it's freaky to be in a car that he can't control. He stabs the ghost with an iron knife, just as Dean Shows up, and Sam drives the car into the house.
Things in Canon don't really change until episode "Bloody Mary", when drawing bloody mary out, she doesn't go after Sam this time, she goes after Branch. Because while Rosiepuff's death isn't Branch's fault, he still never told anyone exactly what happened, that day, not even John. So he's the better fit for the ghost's killing reasons, "Someone had a secret and someone died". Dean and Sam save him, and afterward they confront branch about it, getting him to finally open up about his Grandmother's death.
D: So, wait, singing killed your grandma?
S: Dean...
B: Yes, and it was one of the worse days of my life.
They're on there way to a hotel when they get a call from Bobby. Apparently, there's four guys on his porch claiming to be Branch's brothers. "Do the names, John Dory, Clay, Spruce and Floyd, mean anything to you?"

See you in part 2

Literally so excited to see the revamped no chip au!!!! Can't wait to see what changes you'll make and what it will look like as a more cohesive story/anthology!! <3
Hi. Sorry it took so long to get back to this. As established, if I'm on the computer for more than 10 minutes and not currently doing my job then I have been writing Star Wars fanfiction.
There's quite a bit of changes - some of which are subtle, some of which definitely are not. They're all major to me, but I wonder to what extent some of the changes will be immediately apparent. The nature of writing long stories is that your understanding of the characters, world, and what you're trying to say changes throughout the course of writing it, and as a result sometimes the end can look very different from the beginning. I'm mostly circling back around and a) changing the end to look closer to what I envisioned it as and what I couldn't fully express, and b) changing the beginning to fit in better with the end. I can tell that early on in the series I was still thinking of the characters as, basically, their roleswap characters, and I didn't fully incorporate the differences into who they were.
I think a lot of the changes happened because I settled on a few extremely distinct themes, and I needed to tweak the story to fall into line with those themes. Specifically, I decided to really drill down into fascism. What creates fascists, what propagates fascism, how we justify fascism to ourselves, what fascism does to a world and its people, and the long-reaching effects of it. I think this is partly because I just had to approach the central Thing of the story - how do an otherwise good group of people decide to commit genocide and churn a fascist machine - differently than I was approaching it before.
There's something I really like in writing, when a story is about one central thing and the entire story is just a lot of different ways to explore that one central thing. Infinity Train S4 (where every train was a metaphor for the central relationship) and Dungeon Meshi (where every aspect of the world & worldbuilding was viewed through the lens of ecosystems) did this very effectively. So the entire narrative became a way of taking this central idea of fascism and approaching it through a dozen different perspectives and parallels. It's a huge dissection of "why do well-intentioned or basically unevil people do bad things", but as the story develops the dissection gets into "how does a bad person become a good one".
The story is about one other thing, which is Cody (and Cody is, of course, a dissection of fascism too). The entire anthology is basically a an attempt to decode a person. It's a person who rarely appears on screen, and when he is on screen he's either lying or obfuscating. So the person has to be decoded through a great deal of empty spaces. In rewriting, I was able to focus this a great deal: I was able to draw more effective parallels and use more perspectives to drive into a point. I've frequently been able to demonstrate a behavior in one story, and then explain the behavior in another story with another character.
Of course, the story isn't actually about Cody. The narrative is about parenthood - or more specifically the relationships between adults and children. Another really big recurring theme in the story is toxic masculinity, which is of course authoritarianism, which is of course fascism - which is what connects these two themes and also reinforces what lurks underneath both of these topics. But there's something highly personal about the parenthood theme too. There are 100k+ and 9 stories worth of effort into understanding one person because that is the amount of effort a child puts into understanding a parent who has harmed them.
So that's why it's an anthology now! There are now two central themes linking all of the stories together, and they needed to exist in direct relationship to each other in order to fully explore the topic. There's a lot of usage of negative space, and of something only really being shown through parallelism with another story, and a lot of background exploration of characters through their appearances and arcs in other people's stories. Obi-Wan haunts the narrative a lot, and Cody is stealthily the main source of conflict for literally every single story. They don't appear often but they also never leave. But it takes stepping back and looking at literally the entire deal to see the real reason why everything in the entire narrative happened - and it's not because of Obi-Wan or Cody.

Is the recks au dead?
recks au is that one corpse i keep in my basement that me and friends reanimate every month or so in secret. every time someone asks where recks au is i say "ohh they're okay they've just been really sick lately, but the doctors say they're gonna be fine soon... no, you can't see them it's very contagious, im sorry". obviously there's no doctors. it's been two years. the recks au i know is very different from what people remember it to be, no one actually knows who it is now, everyone misses the person that doesn't exist anymore...
jokes aside!
it's insane to me that people still remember recks au, and that new people keep finding it somehow even if no one mentions it anymore. it's not even the masterpost in the pinned, no one looks at that thing. like, you guys have no idea how much there actually is to recks au, you've only seen a very small portion of it. and yet you keep asking and you keep returning. that's crazy
i wouldn't say recks au is dead, i still think about it often and i still want to do stuff for it. but, just like with everything else, i want to but i don't do it. i dont know why really. i want recks au to be so much more, i want it be great i want it to be interesting i want everything i do for it to be top quality, and maybe because of that I've put too much pressure on myself for no real reason. not sure. it'd be better if i just kept doing little bits at a time and post about it every so often instead of just abandoning it.
the main bottleneck is "scar's story", a small comic series that was supposed to introduce scar into the au and tell about his past and introduce big worldbuilding elements, etc. i got all the way to the last "chapter", planned it all out and then never finished it.
and instead of moving on and finishing it some other day, and maybe focusing on other characters in the meantime, i decided that actually! no! im gonna stop posting about recks au entirely until i finish that comic! smart. once again, lots of unneeded pressure. why? I DON'T KNOW 😭
should i just forget about that comic and start posting now? better late than never? yes, probably. am i going to do that? mngnmhmmhgmhhmg.....
(recks au is centered around s8 of hermitcraft, and it's season 10 now!!!!! that's insane that it's been so long. should i really post about it now? is it too late? should i really do something for s8 when there's new stuff and new concepts to be made? am i playing into the consumption movement thinking that everything i do should be new and relevant and if i post about old stuff im outdated and missing the opportunity? why do i even care about all that????? 😭😭😭😭)
people have been mentioning recks scar a lot recently, mostly because of the charity stream bc he was a little robot on wheels (just like in recks au wow crazy!!!!!!!!!!!), and i do have a drawing of him done that i could post.................... and there's nothing stopping me except myself............................................ auggghh

Help I drove to work and while doing that sketched out Napoleonic Dragons AU That Isn’t Temeraire in my head, just jotting it down because I'm unlikely to work on this more than tiny snippets for the moment
Cavalry Dragons AU or Every Infantry Marshal Has Scales Now, The Worldbuilding
Baseline points:
If Temeraire is "dragons as navy" worldbuilding, this can slot into "dragons as cavalry" - things may be stolen from Temeraire though
I don't feel like doing a lot of logical extrapolations to make a coherent alternate history, so I want to restrict the abilities and capabilities of dragons enough so that their existence is still cool but things like Ships Made Of Wood and Napoleon not flying over the ocean to conquer Britain make sense
I like to do things systematically, so I want to have a reason for which marshals are dragons and which ones aren't - I've decided on "all marshals who started out as infantry" which unfortunately means Murat, Bessieres, Ney and Davout aren't dragons, but maybe in the alternate universe next door only the cavalrymen are dragons but
Also, I have decided that many naval ships are bonded with/accompanied by a giant sea serpent dragon who can spit water, because that means that dragons cant burn the ships down and also. friendly sea serpent friends. insert aubreyad/hornblower thoughts here
Anyway, dragons! A lot of rambly worldbuilding thoughts under the cut, followed by brief text descriptions of Dragon Lannes and Dragon Soult and Dragon Junot and a bonus
They range in size from as big as a car to as big as a suburban house - sea serpents tend to be a lot bigger but are constrained to the sea
They have human intelligence and pretty much human minds, though there's room for some quirks and nonhuman POVs
They speak telepathically into people's minds, it sounds like audible speech that bypasses the ears, it doesn't bypass language so a French dragon will be speaking French
They don't really breathe fire - some spit sparks, others spit bursts of flames, but no sustained fire laserbeams
Except for some techniques that involve the dragon eating some special foods, which allow for fireballs/sustained flame, but they can't be flying and they have to be still and prepared
a certain artillery officer didnt invent this but he did work out new and exciting ways to use this
Maybe some dragons have acid sprays instead, others have a very chilly breath
Smaller dragons can fly longer than larger dragons
Dragons come in many different colours and shapes and tend to be categorised into something along the lines of Temeraire's lightweight/mediumweight/heavyweight categorisations but they don't have breeds for reasons I'll get into later
When a dragon likes collecting stuff, that's stereotyped as a hoard lol - yes this means Dragon!Soult has an art hoard, Dragon!Massena has… a pile of gold, Dragon!Lannes has his Armagnac collection and sheep
Dragons don't have a specific magical or psychological bond with a single person or rider, but they do get very strongly attached to people, they do prefer these people to ride them but can be persuaded to take others, and because of the next point, it’s strongly incentivised for dragon-bonded (need a better term) to accompany dragons
The Dragon Stupor:
The big thing about dragons, why they havent taken over the world, is that for all their might and grandeur, they are susceptable to the dragon-stupor.
Basically, when a dragon pushes themselves, when they exert themselves physically to the upper bounds of their ability - during a battle or a prolonged flight - after everything is done, they just fucking go to sleep.
Well it's more like a coma. Smaller dragons fall into the stupor for days to weeks, while larger ones can go up to months or even years
there's rumours about big mountains being Really Big dragons in the dragon-stupor for centuries!
This means that dragons are really good at sort of singular and short term attacks and operations, and they can walk around and push themselves a tiny bit, but they can't do long extended trips or long extended fights without needing long naps
However-
The dragon-stupor can be shortened and the effects lessened by the presence of things they like and feel comfortable with like their "hoard" and their favourite people
For example, Dragon!Soult usually has a stupor of, say, six months because he’s a pretty big dragon, but let him curl up in his Gallery Of Murillos and it’s shortened to about three to four months
Let Louise visit him and chat to him and he’ll wake up in a low energy state, but he’ll be conscious and this state is reduced to 1-2 months
Because Soult even as a dragon is a workaholic, he brings Louise with him and does planning and strategy stuff while low-energy
Napoleon is the bonded for. quite a few dragons. I mean one dragon can have multiple bonded to different extents but Dragon!Junot and Dragon!Lannes both consider him theirs
This is an excuse for cute moments I will admit. It does also solve some questions but it’s cute!
Sea serpents, who are bonded with naval captains and ships, also have the dragon-stupor but slightly less long and also they’re more conscious during it, but this means that naval ships with serpent friends have a cute setup where they harness the serpent to the ship and give their serpent a wind-assisted ride, with the serpent paddling a tiny bit
The reason that dragons and humans work together is that dragons are very vulnerable during the dragon-stupor, dragons don’t have opposable thumbs and good fine motor skills and it’s generally helpful for the dragons to have human help, like an extra pair of eyes in the sky because the dragon is likely looking at where they’re flying
But humans also still need horses for longer journeys that need more consistency - I guess there could be something where a human courier changes dragons on their trip but you’d need to set that up beforehand too
Dragons don’t have physical binary sexes. They do have gender that they identify with, but physically they’re weird magic alien reptiles. Any two dragons can make a clutch of eggs together, and doing this sends both dragons to a low energy stupor state where they’re cuddled up on top of the eggs and will bite anyone who is a threat but won’t leave.
They don’t have breeds because dragon genes are weird and actually kinda environment based sometimes
Many dragons have feathery quills or fluffy manes because I love feathered dinosaurs
Berthier is a small dragon who has actually, unlike other dragons, mastered telepathy to the point of directing it and with an immense range, able to whisper things into people s minds. Along with his dexterous claws that can grip a quill, he uses both letters and telepathic messages to direct the operations of the Grand Armee. But unfortunately, this is not a skill that can be learned easily and quickly.
Technically a dragon could have another dragon as a bonded and if they are bonded with each other they can have sleepy half awake naps together
Oh yeah there's something here about St Martha taming the Tarrasque being a cultureal thing
Dragon People!
The marshals who are dragons are still marshals because even if dragons were not given titles back in the day, the Revolution and Napoleon’s reign shook things up.
Dragon Lannes
On the medium to small side of things, the dragon Lannes is a loud energetic dragon that’s mostly shiny green. His dragon-stupor is unusually short for his size, with him jumping up after a few days of lightly conscious rest. Scars mark his hide and there’s a few places where scales are misshapen and crooked but he doesn’t give a shit.
His first bonded was Paulette but then Something Happened. I’m not sure what his relation to the Lovely Louise is, but it’s something. He does consider Napoleon to be one of his favourite people.
Dragon Soult
Soult of Saint-Amans is a large dark maroon dragon with crimson markings. He really should have been born a human, and he enjoys things like reading and looking at nice art. He limps on one of his legs and one wing is a little ragged, but he can still fly- but it does send him into the stupor very easily.
His favourite person is of course Louise Berg. Unfortunately he can’t have her as a rider because misogyny and also he wants to keep her safe so he wouldn’t accept her as a full time rider anyway, stupid chauvinist dragon, so he has to take other riders.
Like Ney.
He likes strategising and planning more than actually fighting, but he will begrudingly go and Do Dragon Stuff
Dragon Junot
La Tempete is named not just for his ferocious style but for his elongated breath of sparks that resembles lightning in manner. He's either a medium or small dragon with black and navy scales, maybe a white mane/quills?
His favourite bonded person is Napoleon. He sometimes argues with Lannes and Duroc over who gets to carry Napoleon. Lannes and Duroc are chill and usually drop the matter, and then Napoleon picks Duroc anyway.
His rider is Laure Permont who will not shut up.
hmmm. either murat or bessieres..?
there's a myth of those people called melusines who can shift between dragon and human form
but they can only do so for so long
and then they are trapped in one form or the other

World/Lore Building - Overlords
Tumblr media
The first half of my of my Part 2 of the Seven Rings (p2 focusing on Pride) is basically about finish but before I clean and finish it up, I want to focus on the Overlords being my Pride post talks about them for a bit so I wanted to make a deeper dive on how they work in my rewrite/AU.
Putting under the cut being this will be a bit long.
Okay to reblog, feedback and criticism is welcomed.
Part One: How they work in Canon (or the exploration of why worldbuilding is a big deal and something you need to consider and not just throw shit at the wall and hoping it sticks)
Sorry I have to be a bit of a snarky shit.
So, I do have questions on how Overlords as a whole work in Hellaverse because it isn't really fully explained what they are outside of being 'sinners with power'. I'm assuming they are the ones that are the real leadership over Pride considering how Lucifer and Charlie don't really do anything in regard to running the ring? idk?
Why are Overlords as powerful as they are? Why do they have powers, let alone power in general? How did they gain those powers? Granted, a lot of this also has to do my feelings in regard how Sinners are so high up the caste ladder to begin with to even out ranking Hellborns but but I do think these questions like these matter regardless how big or small they are.
I think we take worldbuilding for granted sometimes being this blog really made me rethink how important it is for your story's universe is to have rules on how things work and why they work the way they do. I'm not asking for the story to stop every second and give us a long exposition lore dump before moving on, visual storytelling is a great way of exploring the world the characters are in and just small details can leave just as much of a big impact of portraying what a story is trying to say about it's surroundings. Hazbin is the kind of show that really needs to take time to breath and not speed run everything suppose to letting us the audience take it all in. Honestly, Hellaverse in general really could have benefit from having a story/lore bible before production ever began suppose to just throwing things at the wall because everything is a mess.
Sorry, I went on a tangent here, but these things do bother me not just as a writer but as a viewer as well but I digress.
Anyways, enough of me ranting, lets dive into my rewrite:
Part Two: So, Overlords huh?
I didn't know what to name this section lol
I kinda talked about this here that I decided that Overlords are both Sinners and Hellborns in my AU and are more close to gang leaders/business owners that gained influence though backstabbing/manipulation/killing their competition and raising though the ranks but they also gain power due to various activities in trust and talent as well. Basically: Anyone can become an Overlord if they have the influence and resources to do so! Even an Imp or Hellhound, even though rare.
Sinners also can't use magic (Alastor being an outlier) in a way most Hellborn could, and not all Hellborn can cast it either (They mostly use it though artifacts such as a Transversal Crystal or Stolas' grimoire just for examples). This makes it a bit more tricky for Sinners to rise up the ladder in power putting aside them already being the lowest caste in hell. They'd have to work up a lot of connections and good will from their Hellborn counterparts which can be hard due to not all Hellborn Overlords look kindly on Sinners. And that's on top of the whole gaining influence in general thing.
Overlords are in almost every ring of Hell but Sinner Overlords are often exclusive to Pride, but there are some cases where a Sinner could make it big in another ring such as Greed or Sloth. There's also the case of the Lust Ring where Overlords kinda play an ambassador role representing Sinners taking matters to Lust's leadership but that's a topic for another day.
Overlords are often more seen in the Rings that more 'lax' in rules/leadership, Pride obviously due to it's title of 'The Wild West of Hell' but they are also big in Greed, Sloth and Wrath. There's a few in Gluttony and Envy as well with Lust being a bit of an outlier in regard to handling Overlords being for the most part they're 'regulated' to the point they're completely a different thing despite still carrying the name (see above).
Part Three: Blood Pacts
This may be a me thing, but I'm not a fan of the fact that Overlords in the show can own souls and the 'contract' thing. Granted this has to do with the sinner issue I already addressed with Hellaverse along with the worldbuilding deal I also mentioned. I'm not gonna repeat myself being I said my piece in part one.
In my AU, Overlords cannot create/form Soul Contacts. Only The Sins and a few powerful demons can own someone's soul physically however Overlords do have an equivalent to them. Enter Blood Pacts!
How they work: Basically, they collect a drop of blood from the person giving up their 'soul' to them and put it into a glass vial lanced with magic that bounds the soul to the owner. Overlords often do this in both a power sense and a way for the soul to pay their 'debts'. Ordinally Blood Pacts were pitched as a way for (un)fortunate souls who in some shape or form got into whatever fucked up thing they landed themselves into that they may need help getting out of or they ended up wronging an Overlord in some way that they choose to make it up to them by working under them for as long as is required (this could be for a good few decades to basically a long time where you might as well say that they own them forever unless one of them kicks the bucket) of them before being set free. Some more 'honest' Overlords do obliged to this once their debts are fulfilled and even fewer don't engage in practice, but most of the time they never let go of there power over there victim and some make it mandatory if you choose to just work under them just because you needed a job so you can never leave (popular tactic used by the Vees).
Because these glass vials are fragile and could easily be broken if one isn't careful or if there victim gets any ideas of choosing to free themselves, these vials are kept in a safe place that only Overlords are given access too. Basically, it's a huge vault, a 'blood' bank if you will where these are sorted and carefully handled so no one can tamper with them and their 'ownership' of their souls are safe. These vaults are secretive, even to Overlords who aren't so high up in the food chain.
Part Four: Notable Overlords
I'm only going to do an overview of some of the overlords here that will or may play a role in my AU/Rewrite being I don't want to go into full descriptions right now. Whenever I get to redesign these characters or just want to talk more about them is when I'll go in more deeper details.
Zestial:
Zestial One of the oldest, if NOT the oldest Hellborn Overlords still alive in this day and age and rumored he's been around before Lucifer's Fall and what Hell is today. Zestial controls The Old Town Historic District (you'll learn about it in my Pride Ring post) and is the creator of the the 'Blood Pacts'. He's basically the same in the show personality wise but Hellborn suppose to a sinner.
The Vees:
The Vee's (all sinners) are the Overlords that run The Red Light district, along with various business and ventures regardless if you have a say in it or not. They're basically the same in the show expect Val is taken more seriously and Velvet has nothing to do with fashion in my AU. She works closely with Vox with fueling the Social Media side of Voxtec and feeding the propaganda machine though the media via mind control thing that Vox has going with him, but Velvet is a popular online influencer in her own right. She's also the youngest Overlord, dying in the 2010's.
Carmilla Carmine:
Carmilla Carmine (sinner) is basically the same character in the show personality wise. She doesn't own a district but is a big player in smuggling, producing and experimenting with angelic weapons. Her engineering and weapon production quality is second to none which alone has gartered her infamously and influence.
Crimson:
A small time Hellborn Overlord from the Greed Ring, as well as Moxxie's father figure (not biological father. I plan on going though Moxxie's backstory once I get his re-redesgin done) who 'inherited' and owns a successful sinner smuggling operation along with plenty of other completely legit businesses you guys in Greed and some influence in Pride as well. I'll talk more about my take on Crismon in my AU another day.
Alastor:
Ah yes, the tumblr sexy man edgelord Radio Demon we all know and love (???). I'm still working on the direction I want to take with his character but he's one of the few Sinner Overlords that has powers (not Voodeo. They're more Lovecraftian in nature and the symbols he uses are radio ones) that he may or may have not made a deal with a demon when still alive that came with him into the after life for some reason. Alastor hosts his radio show at his station in Uptown (where the Happy Hotel also is) every morning (along with the screams of the lives and souls he's taken ya know for shits and giggles). For most, he's an enigma and no one knows what his true goals and where his alliances lie. Even Charlie doesn't understand why he's so invested in helping the hotel if he's not the slightest bit of interested in redeeming himself despite accepting his help. But regardless who you are, what walk of life you're from, hellborn or sinner; he's feared by all.
Anyways, I'm gonna wrap up this post here. Next one will be my Pride Ring post which the first part is basically about done just need to do some last second editing! Likely will post it up Friday...

Poll Winner
Out of everything, I was not expecting the MLP AU to be the winner hahaha but I can't say I'm complaining! Here comes the fun part though! I do apologize
I finally got some free time to share a few tidbits about "WordFilly" because I literally could not come up with a better name. I also plan to turn on asks, so you can ask me things about the AU's - I'd welcome it.
WordFilly is an alternate universe ft. Wordgirl and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (MLP/FiM), so here's what I'm thinking so far. Fair City is known for its magic as a lot of villains have powers, but I decided to get a little silly with this. I honestly haven't quite decided this bit.
Becky is still an alien, so I feel she isn't a normal run-of-the-mill pony, but she also looks like an earth pony or something in order to blend in with the crowd! Huggy could either continue being a monkey, or he's like a dragon - I'm not sure which yet!
And now we're going to break this down-
Read more for additional content!
WordFilly Character Species
The Botsford Family - Sally Botsford (earth pony, cutie mark undecided; is still the District Attorney - has a wavy red mane and tail, knows Spanish); Tim Botsford (earth pony, cutie mark undecided; part-time substitute teacher, also works at an office - looks a lot like a Clydesdale, but smaller); TJ Botsford (earth pony, cutie mark undecided; blank flank). I mulled so long over this AU for a while - and I did decide Becky’s species but for now, I’m going to keep this quiet. All will be revealed in due time!
Violet is a unicorn because I said so; as she's the whimsical artist, I immediately thought she would be a unicorn! It felt fitting for her character.
Personally, I see Scoops as either an earth pony or a Pegasus, I'm unclear as to which right now.
Tobey's 100% a unicorn. I don't make the rules. This is canon now. (only I do make the rules because it's my AU /lh). I also see Victoria as being a unicorn attempting to pretend she's an alicorn or something because she would.
Villains;
Chuck the Evil Sandwich Making Guy - earth pony; cutie mark's a sandwich stacked on a platter (this might change, but idk yet-). He does still have a sandwich head because why not
Dr. Two Brains - earth pony/mouse hybrid; has mouse ears, whiskers, and a long mouse tail - though it weirdly resembles a rat's own. DTB could also be another species that isn't mouse but I think that would defeat the purpose. I know someone who mixed him with a parasprite and I kind of thought it was cute though!
Mr. Big is also an earth pony-
Whammer is a unicorn. That's it. That's the post.
I feel like Miss Question is 100% a Pegasus and that her powers come from sort of pendant (much like something I plan to do with Eileen but we'll get to her later-). Though I love her hoverboard thing, so maybe she's a unicorn? I can't decide, to be honest.
For Eileen, she's an earth pony - her powers are fueled by the amulet, same as in canon! She's short for a pony, and she hates it so much.
Speedrun for the rest of the villains!
The Butcher - unicorn, his cutie mark is a slab of meat that is faintly covered in a hue of red. LRW is 100% a unicorn though she's mixed with something else, don't ask me what just yet. Amazing Rope Guy is an earth pony; uhhh, Seymour is a unicorn and extremely obnoxious- D2B's henchmen are an earth pony and unicorn. Leslie is an earth pony.
Rhyme and Reason are a Pegasus and unicorn. These might switch later!
Miss Power is [REDACTED].
Worldbuilding
WordFilly follows the Wordgirl series if the characters were ponies instead of humans - or an alien and the citizens of Fair City. The city is mostly inhabited by ponies and has become a foundation for magic, and not to mention superheroes and of course supervillains. No one knows when it began but after seeing Amazo Stallion for the first time, Fair City became enamored at the prospect.
Amazo Stallion had been a unicorn though some could almost swear they'd seen him with wings once or twice, but that simply couldn't be possible: no one had seen alicorns in such a long time. As time continued, the legacy of Amazo Stallion and other likeminded heroes continued to prosper until he vanished. There wasn't any reason behind his explanation; he just... disappeared.
With time however, unexpected changes happen...
When a young filly named Becky Hoofsford was found by her adoptive parents - Tim and Sally. Nopony knew where she'd come from, other than the fact she was found on the front porch by Tim. For some reason, she had a pamphlet in her hooves and had been reading through it which was certainly a little odd (but Tim would never say he'd been bothered by it. If anything, he found it endearing of how smart his little Beckaroni was-)
Unwilling to leave a young filly out on her own, Sam and Tim Hoofsford take her in. I imagine they try to find her family, but end up finding nopony and Becky becomes their adoptive daughter! I’m still developing certain aspects of this universe and well, I think I’d be a poor host if I revealed everything so quickly!
With the exception of a few characters, I feel like most of the ponies do in fact, have their cutie marks. TJ doesn’t have his… Johnson? Probably not! Though I do need to decide exactly what said cutie marks are because my ass is very picky!
If anyone is curious on this universe as a whole, I can make more content but honestly right now - I don’t have too many spoons to fully go into detail and I’m trying to keep spoilers from reaching all of you just yet heh—

Character Ask List
Tumblr media
This is my post sharing about my Characters that I have completed finished and can be asked here on Tumbler. I'll hopefully have a wide variety of characters of mine here for you guys to ask from different fandoms, only a handful of characters for each Fandom.
In the works at the moment.
Undertale AU's:
Underatmosphere:
Atmos: Guardian of Weather and Environmental- purification side.
Atmos is a very joyfully been. He has a very active personality, he is constantly working within his sweet bakery cafe, "Cloud Treats". He is easily excited when introducing himself to new people, especially with other versions of Sans's. He has a masters degree in the culinary arts, therfore knows how to cook about anything and everything. He can become easily shy if approached in very embarrassing ways. He doesn't mind being called anything either it's good or bad, but if someone starts making fun of his home AU, he immediately gets aggressive and overprotective of it. To the point he will attack them, but won't do any major harm towards the person. He mostly bakes cookies and different sweet breads, but can make a lot of other things. He also likes to make different types of drinks, but usually his AU Muffet dose the drinks at his bakery cafe. His AU Grillby is a main chef at Atmos's sweet bakery cafe. Atmos actually has a small stuttering problem, he can control it, but stutters easily.
Smog: Guardian of Weather and Environmental- Pollution side
Smog is a hipster jerk, he knows very well that he can't touch anything or anyone and uses this to his advantage. He cares to the bare minimum unless it involves his little brother Atmos, then you have his full attention. He deeply cares about his younger brother even though the two don't know each other that completely as they live separately, he can be an absolute ass hole to people in a playfully, joking and cocky manner. He will fight others when pissed off, but will do his best to try an not to as he knows he could quickly kill someone just because he's always covered in a very corrosive acid. He just likes hanging around and not doing much, but he don't like to do absolutely nothing as he will try to keep his mind occupied with something.
Puff {Papyrus}:
OZ {Gaster}:
Flowey:

Undersunrise:
Sunrise {Sans}:

Clothtale:
Cloth {Sans}: Fashion Designer
Cloth. He is a very calm and chill boy. He is very reliable, respectful and patient of his work and others. He is relaxed about everything he does and is very opened minded to everyone. He works in the fashion industry and is always making clothes. Especially for his friends as he is always experimenting his ideas on them. That's why Atmos and Sunrise have so many outfits, because their Cloth's test dumys. Cloth tho has a very big crush on Atmos and is always in the friend zone as Atmos is oblivious to his emotions towards him.

Wings Of Fire AU oc's:
Marble: The Silk Wing Dragonet
Marble is a five year old Silk Wing Dragonet, this means she hasn't gone through her metamorphosis to obtain her wings or her silk. She is a very quiet and self kept dragonet, she isn't shy as she likes talking and interacting with others. She likes to sit out under the sun light like a cat basically, as she really enjoys being out in nature and exploring her area. She doesn't get bored very easily as she likes to relax most of the time with nothing to do, but she really likes to weave things together, like tapestries. Her favorite color is a mint gray color.

Ace and Sabo in the sci-fi au!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I tried to keep Ace's description simple otherwise it'll be a wall of text. And Sabo is meant to be mysterious (I didn't really think things through with the composition...). Also Sabo's picture was finished like a month ago and meant to go with the Romance Dawn Trio, so it's just flat colors.... While with Ace I was testing a new way of coloring (and he was born after 9 moths normally so he's older!)
A close-up of the pretty pretty boy
Tumblr media
More about Ace, Sabo, Whitebeards and RA under cut!
Ace was born in other star system and was brought on Earth by Garp, for the sake of safety. He spent his childhood mostly in the Wind turbines area/district, but as time went on he sometimes spent time at Makino's place (it's in the other part of the city. I'll talk about the Goa kingdom in the next sci-fi au post bc I want to draw a simple map for illustration purposes). He set out at 17, and after some time he joined the Whitebeards!
Also his arms were personally made for him, and have a rather unique feature. These dark bars on their sides are heat meters! So not only his punches hurt more because of the metal, they can also leave burns! And his hands are warm all the time, he gives great hugs :> the temperature is controlled consciously by Ace. I've been thinking that it'll be rather dangerous if he could accidentally activate it in his sleep, and considering his narcolepsy....
also a bit of, idk, worldbuilding?
Tumblr media
I've been thinking about cybernetic modification, bc they are removable (Sabo has three, one human-looking, one to tinker with and one to do the tinkering. Why does Sabo suddenly have engineering skills? bc I think it suits him + backstory reasons (it's his parents and I'll tell about it later) + Dragon left him with Ivankov and Lindbergh for a year(there is no way Sabo would've had his cheerful and unbearable attitude if Dragon was the only one raising him) while he deals with some stuff) and if the ports are the same(realistic? no. but who cares) so prostheses are interchangeable, then what about their length? I think that simple models with no additional functions let you just adjust the length. And more complex variants are obviously made specifically for one person with their proportions in mind.
So about the Whitebeards... I didn't really know how to call them, like 'group'? 'Company' doesn't really sit with me... Let's go with 'organization' for now. Whatever, the point is the Whitebeards provide various services like protection (bodyguards and convoying merchant ships), delivering goods, technical maintenance, etc. They have so mush influence, to the point that some parts of habitable galaxy are considered their territory. (a bit like The Interastral Peace Corporation from hsr, but not so big and the WBs usually take more mediatory/intermediary role) It's no secret that the Whitebeards don't mind dealing with the criminal sphere or breaking some laws. They may very well be considered a criminal organisation, but the World Government can't do anything because WB is just that powerful. (plus they do have their rules and a certain code of honor, so they have a lot of respect from civilians and businesses alike) It's also the reason why some revolutionaries often turn to them when it comes to transportation (while some avoid it like fire because big organization=lots of attention)
I've mentioned that the WBs have their own values and code of honor, and I think one of the services they might provide is like mercenaries/headhunters in a sense they will either assist finding ppl who has wronged their business partners(and like if someone is willing to pay additionally for hunting specific criminals maybe?) or just doing it themselves. And Ace is a part of this division(so he's the one chasing Blackbeard), and he holds a rather high position? ( he would enjoy field work way more than paperwork)
In this au the Revolutionary army is much more decentralized, because the space is big, duh. The founder trio(duo now unfortunately) as well as the four commanders each is responsible for their sector of inhabited galaxy, but they still give the general reports to Dragon like monthly(and some teams are empowered to make their own decisions and come to the best conclusion without necessarily getting "approval" from up top). Sabo is mostly in charge of communication and distribution of information between the sectors, plus sometimes he deals with problems that are important enough to get them to higher-ups but not that important to go to Dragon with them. He's got quite a lot of work to do, but he still really really wants to go to field missions, so he does sometimes, I mean who would stop him? Above him only Dragon and God. And both have enough problems to deal with already.
So, as I mentioned, the RA is decentralized and doesn't have physical headquarters or a base (they have private protected servers tho and Dragon's cool spaceship lol but now that I think, the Wind Grandma is their base... it mostly moves around the galaxy away from most common travel routes. it's very protected and is difficult to detect) so the revs are scattered all around the world, in small groups that sometimes come together for missions but mostly work by themselves. And one of such groups is Sabo, Koala and Hack, although after Sabo's promotion it's mostly Koala&Hack with Sabo accompanying (hanging out with) them, for the sake of the legend they're keeping. He has to be online most of the time and doesn't really have time to go on missions :( And their legend ties to my hc of Sabo being keen on photography, so they pose as bounty hunters who also lead a travel blog for alibi. They either lay low actually traveling and camping or speedrun the designated area in a couple of hours taking photos, editing them slightly (there is when the acquaintance with Strawhats comes in handy, and they can commission Usopp to edit the sky, lightning, etc. and everyone is happy: Usopp gets pocket money, Nami gets additional income, Koala, Hack and Sabo get more time to prepare for the missions) and putting them on queue.
Their group is small and mostly relies on Koala's hacking skills, swift strikes on WG bases and ships and infiltrating official events and facilities.

Soulmate Au planning!!! Okay I don't think I am gonna post the outline here because, spoilers. But I think the general idea now is, 20 chapters. First chapter Yuno and Noelle, second chapter is Asta and Lolo, and going on. Pacing, I think each chapter is 3k words, but I also am worried about time skips, because you know they are going to exist. Like??? This is definitely a fic that works moment to moment, and not with the show exactly. I think chapter 1-2 (maybe only 1) will be when they are babies (and by babies I mean like six-seven) though. _____ Okay worldbuilding! And this I would love to hear your thoughts on. We know this is a share pain soulmate au. And I want Yuno to know, and Asta to be clueless until later on. We know mana and the soul are interconnected, souls are a pretty big thing in the Black Clover universe. And I recall that kids have higher magic amounts to their adult counterpart (baby Noelle's mana > teen Noelle's mana--- hence why her siblings treated her poorly). They learn to control it and it stabilizes over time, but expected to learn control quickly. Could be wrong, so let me know. So maybe the soul is awakened with mana, and the more mana you have, the faster your bound develops. So maybe Noelle, Yuno, and Lolopechka are freaks for starting to feel pain so easily. While Asta, getting his grimoire is like the defibrillator to his soul, and he suddenly can feel his soulmates pain. But here is when things get interesting!!! When dealing with Yuno and Asta, you can't ignore that they are both connected with another soul. Asta and Liebe, with how they share a grimoire, and Yuno with Licht and Tetia's dead half-elf baby with how they share a body. And I think that could be fun to play with. Like I don't think Yuno is connected to Leibe, but I think he feels the smallest traces of Liebe's pain, because his souls are slighly connected to Liebe too, simply because the soulbound is being channeled to Asta through the grimoire. It could be interesting, actually, if all of Yuno's pain went to Liebe in the beginning, but once Asta gets' the grimoire Asta starts to feel Yuno's pain in small doses, but he feels the pain of both the souls. I feel like Dead-half-elf-baby techincally is Yuno, like he grew up in Yuno, could for some part only experienced what Yuno did, and the only name he ever had attached to him is Yuno. But he isn't Yuno, and no matter if he was dormant (which I don't think he was because Yuno was using his magic), felt emotional pain. I guess what I'm saying, is maybe Asta and Yuno just have a very complicated bound because Yuno has two souls, Asta is connected to another in a very different way that he is to Yuno's souls, and Asta doesn't have any magic power. So he needs his grimoire to even start feeling pain. Also because it is emotional pain, what if Yuno decided to bottle his emotions, because he at a young age could feel Asta's (even if didn't know it at the time), and was like. fuck, can't do that to my soulmate and just started checking out from what he was feeling.
What are your'e thoughts?

ok full transparency this is infact. an au i still really want to write. but you know how it is the 2020s urge to just have no joy or motivation to make creative fan products
ANYWAY my wxs* focused fantasy au!! i have a couple rp blogs for it but that's the closest i get to making content for it rn..
*other characters involved but wxs has the most developed and involved
ANYWAY let me go sicko mode under the cut hehe. taking a bit from my rui blog bc i dont wanna retype all dat
worldbuilding
there is a big magical forest at the center of the region, it's considered dangerous and somewhat risky to travel through, as the inhabitants (which are primarily either magic users/"witches" or other inhuman beings. but there's also some standard like. fantasy jrpg monsters yk how it is) consider it their safe home and may not take kindly to outsiders or anyone trying to harm the forest.
magic users have varying reputations in the kingdoms outside of the forest, some don't mind and maybe even are welcoming towards them, others frown upon it but ultimately don't care, but some might even consider it taboo or forbidden to dabble in. it's for this reason that magic users born in the kingdoms may ultimately leave their homes to live in the safety of the forest instead
virtual singers (theyre the only ones to come up in story, but not the only ones) are among many of the guardians of the region, originating from the forest.
miku is basically the god of the world (likely under another name- or the goddess's name is known only as hatsune but not miku), but can't physically interfere in her primary state (think the law of cycles from pmmm), and so sends "fragments" of herself (sekai mikus) to help people and in the case of this au its the prsk characters
wxs :)
the otori family are the rulers of one of the kingdoms (the kingdoms do not have names. do not look at me), rakunosuke, the original king of the otori kingdom before emu's father kounosuke took over, was a lot more of open to magic users and other fantastical beings, and taught his son and grandchildren accordingly. when he passed, however, kounosuke and his elder sons would teach the younger children to be more fearful and wary- that not every being they'd encounter would be friendly
tsukasa & saki grew up in a small town with their parents, but fell on unexpected hard times, this resulted in them having to leave the town and it's inhabitants behind, the two ended up on their own, later joined by a semi amnesiac toya, where they were later adopted and raised by the otoris, being raised as royalty accordingly. (tsukasa trained to be a knight however, and toya felt very strongly about not wanting to be a heir unless absolutely necessary, resolving to use his smarts to tutor the other kids)
hinata helps emu and saki do their hair btw they r the sisters ever
rui is a natutal born magic user who grew up in a town that was not quite favorable to them- atleast not to magic users who don't restrain themselvesm rui wanted to experiment with his magic to see what he could do- all for the sake of helping people- be it healing, or doing visual tricks to make others smile, but the other villagers were afraid and/or distrusting of him. fearful of the villagers turning that hatred towards his parents, rui fled the village one night without telling his parents (at best leaving a note explaining why he left) to go stay in the forest.
nene is a friend of rui's- a mermaid from said forest, rui would visit when he was younger, coming to see her at the lake she stayed at. there, alongside their third companion (mizuki), the kids would discuss all sorts of things- magic, nature, society, the world.. nene doesn't know much of the world outside the forest, but wants to see the ocean someday.
tsukasa went out on a patrol to scout the areas of the region a bit further out from where the kingdom was situated- it's there he comes across rui and his "familiars" (kaito and wxs!miku) and the story begins! but tsukasa's big adventure also inspires emu to go on one of her own and play catch up ✨️

Monkey King Reborn Au misc details;
Cus I'm starting to obsess over Monkey King Reborn, Imma talk a little bit about important worldbuilding and story details. Some spoilers for the film itself ahoy under Read More;
Because in the events of the film had Yuandi/Primordium gathering a bunch of the big name demons together and a few die on the battlefield, the mid-way chapters of the journey get shuffled around a bit. Notably the pilgrims make it to Slow-Cart Kingdom a bit faster since a bunch of the threats are missing and their route has been altered.
However, they do end up encountering the Yellow Robed Demon shortly after leaving Slow-Cart Kingdom and wandering into Baoxiang. There they learn of the King's missing princess and Tripitaka convinces the gang to investigate (Wukong groaning the whole time). Cue the giant wood-wolf demon who didn't get the mesasge that his reincarnated sweetie didn't remember him/and wants nothing to do with him now he's forced 13 years of marriage on her. Despite causing some confusion (Tripitaka gets a little cursed its fine *lies*), Kui Mulang gets put down quickly with Wukong on the scene from the very start. However... theres a few loose ends that neither Princess Hundred Flowers nor her father have interest in keeping...
Pigsy, carrying a half-wolf demon child on his back: "Explain to me how we've become a damned nursery?" Wukong, carrying the younger pup against his chest: "Because the Princess and King disowned them, and Master refuses to let them be culled or left to the wilds." Pigsy: "No I mean. Why are we dealing with them?" Wukong, blushing a little: "We uh... Macaque asked to keep them." Pigsy: "Such a whipped husband you are!" Wukong: "We aren't married!" Pigsy, swatting at SWK while the pup on his back laughs: "Then its shameful you have so many children while unwed!" *fighting continues* Macaque, whispering to Xiao Qi: "I think your baba and uncle are fighting again little one. Hopefully you wont squabble as much with your elder siblings." Xiao Qi: *is just delighted to have siblings* :D!!
The two half-wood wolf demon pups are named Zhu Yu/茱萸 ("cornelian dogwood") a pre-teen girl, and Ku Ai/苦艾 ("wormwood") a toddler-age boy. Neither are particularly happy or understanding why they can't live with their mom and/or dad anymore, and frequently act out by going wolf on the pilgrims. Neither are much help in a fight, but they're pretty good at sneaking around.
Tumblr media
The Lady Bone Demon chapter also goes... very differently than in canon. Especially since she has a debt she wishes to "cash in" from a certain monkey, and a tasty-looking monk for her to eat... A team spilt occurs like in the book, and the Six Eared Macaque cashes in a different favor to make it up to them. Especially after the Bone Demon threatens someone very dear to both monkeys.
Jin and Yin are there too. They've devoted their new lives to fufilling a life debt to the Six Eared Macaque ever since he "saved" them after Yuandi's battle. He finds them annoying.

My thoughts on Welcome Home's community developement!
These are my opinions, please do not feel hurt by them! It is simply a peppermint that I have not opened and is still on my desk. (Until now!) It is mainly for me, but there is a part of me that would like others to read it.
It's coming very close to the relaunch of Welcome Home! I've been so excited!!! Although, I do make sure to watch myself and save this excitement. I must focus on my life as well! But, I'd like to place this here as a memory before then. As a memory of why I love Welcome Home, of myself!
I wasn't introduced to Welcome Home until the very very early beginning booms of its popularity. At first I was introduced to it by Night Mind, (I thought the voice over was Wally's voice and he was showing us the remnants of his show and friends, I was very wrong!!! I learned throughout the video, I learned I learned!!)
I had it in the back of my mind. I thought it might've been another thing I saw and would drop quickly. (as I had done so many times in this period!) I didn't want the sorrow of that again so instead of investing time, I moved on. Throughout the next little days I saw Welcome Home again and, as my doubts melted away, I fell deeply in love. I was in a bit of a hard place as well as finding it hard to latch on to something I held dear. Welcome home gave me such comfort, a safe place. At the time, I could still say, ah I have no one to share this with...it is a small community! But I am here, I am so happy, I will create content for myself. (I was still so so shy and did not have socials of my own) I watched it grow to such a large size! It was fun for me, I saw the love and care being explored. The characters loved, the story found! What I was too shy to say I saw others recognize, it was so heart warming to me. This time in my life was so special because Welcome Home had been explored based off the canon in the community, based off the real roots of it all. The project. It was so sweet. This was something I was able to follow along to, I got to see the process and not just the finished, it had the warmth of a home! And as the project grew and grew, I can't say that I didn't grow a little sad knowing this was no longer a wonderful secret I knew of. But, at the same time I was so happy that Clown was getting the recognition his project deserved!! Things never stay the same I know, but here in the present it does hurt a little. I understand the want to explore and create, but I am not a fan of all the aus created around Welcome Home. In every corner I see "Creator of ____ au" and such, I remember the scrambling of wanting to make the best au. Having 10 in a day be made and the number grew only more from there, lists to keep track, the craze of being the most popular. It felt like I was watching a competition. Like Clown, I see it as Welcome Home changing its clothes! I have to say, I've seen very cute ones that I like, but I do not seek them. I think one of the main BIG reasons for the explosion of these aus was the idea that Welcome Home did not have a large amount of content. While Clown has stated that yes this is not all of what we'll see and is in fact just a dip in the water, it does not mean that what we've been given is close to pebbles. The project has developed over many years and it shows! There is so much love everywhere! The tellings, characters, worldbuilding, the art, the indirect secrets!!! Even the non canonical, it is there to understand, learn from, recognize and more!! There are ways to explore these characters, their styles, their homes, their interactions, their feelings, background, down to the very smallest thing! The theorizing is part of it yes, but so is the appreciation and love of what's true. I constantly find myself thinking of more than a thousand new things from just a sketch! There are little details everywhere intentional or not! I find it so hard to believe others cannot see them, or choose to ignore. I feel in part, frustrated that Welcome Home is not appreciated in the colorful way it gifts itself. I see some characters be changed so dramatically I cannot recognize them, or become so cubed into one dimension they become boring. And, for these characters that I love so much, to be densly packed into a tuna can, it does make me sad. Give them room to breathe, and play! I rarely see the community speak of it in its most classic form, straight from Clown's heart wrapped in a bow! I might add on to this as I remember my feelings, but I have always wanted to store this somewhere. Again, this is my little ramble, an opinion amongst many! I am not saying Welcome Home's community has to be uptight or that it cannot have fun and explore, I do it too! It is a common nature I believe, to not be so serious and just goof! I just wish, that such astounding work, would have its beauty be seen in the light it deserves.
I would also like to say, that this work has really made me come out of my shell. I love it so much I cannot keep quiet no matter how hard I've tried. I am so grateful to everything this project has given to me and to others, it is so special. I can see it! What my eyes see I wish I could share, what I feel is longed to be given! I have always loved puppets, but it was such a small part of my life amongst other things fighting for my attention, and they were very different from these! Since the discovery of Welcome Home, I've explored more media, sesame street, the muppets, the list continues..... it's truly given me such a lovely home and a look into the childhood I didn't have! Given me a wonderful light in my life! What can I say, but thank you from the bottom of my heart!
A small sidenote!!!
Now if you've seen my twitter, you may have seen the small blab about an important update! No no it is not this! It is coming it is coming! But for now, goodnight!
A silly thing! Oh, I did try to clean it quickly but I was tired and it didn't end up well!! It is scrapped but its ok! I love him all the same!! Maybe in the future he'll be more spiffy🌈 I'm very fond of this jelly smooth animation style, it is a quickly scribbled piece but a tease to the future works! I love frame by frame animations!
