Allyao, you say? 👀
What about Ningyao. WN didn't seem too disturbed by his time in Jinlintai so like, I like to think JGy took mercy on him. Maybe they were friends during sunshot. Maybe WN helped JGY out in Qishang. Maybe JGY apologised for what JGS did and had him do to WN. Maybe he was sad that WN wasn't fully cognizant with the nails, because that'one less friendly person to talk to :(
I must give it to you, your brain is bigger than mine bc I didn't really consider that one before. But that's mostly bc the way my allyao agenda works is that it would take significant interactions MY had with others that he has stablished dynamics with, and run with it (is it really my fault he's connected to so many ppl in this story??). Ningyao may be leaning on crackship territory, but let's see!
It's an interest approach, yeah. I think there's not a lot to be done during the time WN was being held by the Jin, we are never told what happened, but regardless, poor guy was rendered pretty much a mindless beast around that time...
But then again, I don't think timeline would have made it possible for them to interact much before the end of the war either.
Iirc MY went to join the Wen after the fall of Lotus Pier, and by then WQ and her fam had been appointed to the supervisory thingie something, meaning they probably didn't have much contact with Nightless City.
Still, we have little detail of how the war was actually going, especially after JC regained control of Yunmeng. So it could be possible that that made the Wens there retreat back to Qishan??
In any case, it'd be fascinating to see MY interact with perhaps the gentlest Wen. I'd imagine that that fact alone would be a breath of fresh air when you are appointed as chief torturer, especially as the war was approaching its peak and the end was near.
There's still the fact that JGY knew of the prisoners camp, where he must have known WN was. He had just been acknowledged by his father, so he probably considered not smart to risk getting thrown out so soon idk.
Regardless, always entertaining to have food for thought :D

I really truly don't get this whole bucktommy and buddie rivalry.. I mean I love buddie and I really like bucktommy and don't understand the problem of liking and rooting for both. yeah, at the same time. what happened, everyone forgot about multishipping? why can't two ships coexist in peace??

Blue Eye Samurai Fic Rec
Rec note - This won't be good for canon blind reading.
Canon Background - The show is set in the Edo period. Mizu is a samurai on a revenge quest. AFAB who has to pretend to be a guy because revenge quests are for guys + women's rights are pretty bad. I suck at explaining stuff. Really beautiful animation.
Ukiyo-e: Pictures of a Floating World
Details - 6000 words, Rated M
Author - eldritcher.
Summary - Nothing desired is peculiar.
Rec because - Hot! Also kinky. Also characterization. I am a sucker for the show characterizations and really love seeing that in fic. These fics got me into the show.
Rec note - The title is the concept of a floating world which comes up in the show brothel madam speech.
Structure - 3 character studies + 1 shipfic.
Unclean - Mizu's character study. Really dark and intense because revenge samurai with gender things going on in a hardcore genderered society. 700 words, Rated M.
Onryo - Taigen is the super samurai Mizu defeated. He is thinking about Akemi, his ex. But he is really consumed by his obsession with Mizu. 600 words. Rated M.
Greatness - Ringo is the disabled apprentice who joins Mizu. He is really amazing. Probably the least ambitious/most ethical person in the show. 600 words. Rated M.
The rare heart hungers - Plot is about Mizu's gender + sexuality. Really queer. Also kinky! Also multishipping paradise. Akemi/Mizu, Taigen/Mizu, Mikio/Mizu, Madame Kaji/Mizu, Ringo/Mizu. It really plays on the Heart Sutra scene. Different folks changing Mizu/joining Mizu/giving more meaning. 4000 words. Rated M.

The majority of the people who have a single pairing don't like to interact with people from different ships, I have to admit that in my adolescence this made me create multiple accounts even pretending to like ships that I didn't really ship looking back, just to make friends with those ships, because it seemed like people hung out more with people with common tastes than not
I think this was good in one way because it made me interact with many types of people. But lying wasn't a nice thing to do when I were younger either. However, this made me much more neutral and tolerant of various types of shippers and different content. Even if the show didn't attract me, the content of the ship that the person dedicated themselves to creating did...
I wish I had known the term multishipping before, it would have solved a lot of my internal problems because everyone seemed to be fighting, I just wanted to know what these people were doing and creating.

Obviously Trobed is the main love story of Community and is practically canon in one way or another and I adore it, but I must say on this rewatch I'm nursing a little flicker of a fond and curious spark about the possibilties of Jabed
#No one throw tomatoes at me I'm allowed to multiship!!!#anyway something about Jeff occupying a persona out of fear and Abed occupying many personas out of love#something about Jeff being a man in his 30s so terrified of being unlovable that he crafts the persona of a man too cool for love#vs Abed a man who's been told he's weird/alien so many times that by his 20s(?) he's fully abandoned any shits he might have once gave#Jeff who makes out like he's a smooth ladykiller who has beautiful women throwing themselves at him#vs Abed who ACTUALLY has women (and men) throwing themselves at him because he's weird and it's hot#Jeff who's still not convinced he's a real person at all under the facade#Abed who's so confident in who/what he is that he can take vacations from it and step into totally different personas but always snap back#I think it's genuinely so important that they're the first two of the Greendale seven to meet/hang out#Jeff needs Abed to call him on his shit and show him it's possible as an adult to be weird and playful and loved for it#Abed needs Jeff to ground him a little and to take the group spotlight so Abed can observe and play to his heart's content#anyway i think in the best timeline we got an ep subplot like the han solo!Abed and Annie subplot#wherein Abed embodied a character Jeff has a buried crush on and briefly had a whirlwind romance with him and rocked his world#and Jeff has a crisis for like a week bc he considers himself a pickup artist who knows all the tricks#but the study group TV nerd just swept him off his feet and then strolled away like it was *nothing*#anyway don't mind me. Trying to prepare myself for a difficult day with some harmless blorbo thoughts#mr. bees speaks

Hey umm...
do you ship whouffaldi?
just a general question i like to ask...
Oh, I don't mind questions.
Personally, I view 12 and Clara as an extremely codependent, increasingly toxic friendship. Toxic as in destructive, not abusive. 12 and Clara being together in the TARDIS was acidic. And those are some of the most painful relationships. When you love each other so much and you never want to leave the other, but you have to. You have to say goodbye because you're corrosive. You're hurting each other. And as much as you try, you don't know how to stop being corrosive.
I think this take on what would happen if the Doctor/Companion dynamic morphed into something twisted was beautifully written and honestly, executed to perfection. Season 9 is probably my favorite season.
And I really enjoy the comments Moffat made on that being the reason the TARDIS didn't like Clara at first (which implies he had been considering this ending for Clara from the beginning):
“The TARDIS, being aware of all time simultaneously, was also aware that Clara was the precise motivator that would drive the Doctor to an extreme that was dangerous for all time and space.”
“[The TARDIS] knew, that although the Doctor loved her very much, she was bad for him and that the coming of the Hybrid would be the result of their association.” (DWM, I think Issue 502?? Not sure.)
[Side note: This makes me wonder if the TARDIS intentionally crash landed in Amy's backyard. Because Amy and Rory had to become companions, or else Melody would have never been born. And even if she had been, she wouldn't have been River, the time travelling, gun-toting archaeologist. And that would have caused all sorts of paradoxes. And broke time. Again. But back to Clara.]
All the other companions had something or someone to ground them to reality, to life outside of the Doctor. Rose had her mom. Martha had her passion for medicine, her siblings and her quarrelsome parents, four people who relied on and needed her. Donna had Wilfred. And Amy had Rory. And then she and Rory built a life apart from the Doctor, where their daughter would pop in their backyard for a drink and to catch up on life. But Clara...what grounded her?
In S9, we barely visited the school.
We saw her family in present day once in S7, and her grandmother once in S8. And not once in S9, which I believe was intentional (I suspect to further highlight she was losing who she once was and becoming addicted like the Doctor - and to the Doctor). To be honest, I forgot she had a family. They're practically nonexistent.
And who else was there? I mean she had the two kids she babysat in S7, who promptly disappeared into the void of nowhere to be seen or heard of again in S8 and S9. Then, she fell in love with Danny Pink in S8, but that relationship was highly strained and eventually imploded because she was also in love with the Doctor, arguably even more in love with him (Clara confessed Danny and the Doctor were the only two men she ever loved in Last Christmas). Maybe if Danny had lived, Clara's ending might have been different. Only Moffat knows. But Danny didn't. And she was left behind. Without a tether. All she had left was the Doctor. And she was all he had too. She was his tether. And the codependency of their friendship promptly crossed the point of no return.
And the Doctor could see it happening. He tried to protect her:
"This is my own fault...Do you know what you need? You need a hobby! Or even better, another relationship!" (9.03)
He knew she needed something or someone to ground her. A tether to the outside world. Or else, just like him, she would lose herself.
However, all warning signs were ignored. And viewers watched as Clara slowly walked off a cliff. And the Doctor fell right alongside her.
