Fanfic Progress Update 157

It's Saturday, so you get updated on the fic writing. Happy Holidays, btw; over here we celebrate it tomorrow rather than on 25th, so I'm almost free from this hassle. Stay tuned for a sneak-peek for A Sign that you're important at the bottom of this post!

Current WIPs:

A Sign that you're important (previously named I'm Signing in the Drain)

Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse

Summary: One month upon his assigment as Doctor Robotnik's assitant, Agent Stone is told to learn sign language. He doesn't know why, and isn't suicidal enough to ask, so he simply rolls with it. Turns out, it's not just a whimsy of the eccentric doctor, even though that doesn't stop the doctor from utilizing it like one.

Progress: The first chapter was posted on 21st of December. The second chapter will be posted on 28th of December aka next Thursday. Chapter 3 is finished. Chapter 4 has been started. This fic will most likely have five chapters, maybe six if I get epilogue-happy or smth.

Let's hope I can get an adequate amount of writing for this one done despite the Christmas hassle, cause I really don't want to panic-write the last two chapters on the week of posting them. ...I say, like I don't have three weeks to write chapter 4 at this point. But listen, I'm also making eyes at a next idea I have in a little list of ideas, like juggling two fics isn't enough. Tho in my defense, Lab Life is quietly writing itself in the background and doesn't count, especially if I can manage to queue up another fic after this one (I'd really prefer if Lab Life was fully written before I post any of it, because then I'd have lots of time to get started on the sequel while it keeps the readers fed). I'm gonna be so fucked when Hazbin Hotel airs and I might end up double-fandoming :D

Maybe it said something about Agent Stone - and probably not good things - that the poster in the cafeteria's pin board piqued his interest more than any of his official assignments had for a good long while.

Progress: This one will be part one of a two-parter longfic, the first part probably... 10-ish chapters? It's a bit hard to estimate at this point, so the number is subject to change - will probably end up increased tbh. My weekly writing hour (as in, a specific hour when I sit down and write, no excuses [other than not being home]) is devoted to this fic.

I have the first four chapters completely written now. Chapter 5 is halfway done. I also have two halfway written chapters that don't yet know their exact placement within the fic (they're scenes that will be slotted in to wherever they feel natural, once we get Stone settled in.)

As far as meetings went, Stone was usually patient and attentive. This time, however, he was certainly in agreement with the doctor that this particular meeting was honestly boring and pointless, and it wasn’t just Robotnik’s “hating meetings” -thing. The only reason the two of them had to be attending at all was because Robotnik had a presentation of his own to add to the collection that was happening right then, which meant that nothing the other people said was actually relevant to their jobs or worth listening to – they were just waiting for their turn. There was nothing interesting going on, and it was made worse by the people presenting their points doing it in the least interesting way they could and droning on and on and on about their projects.

Stone was, quite frankly, contemplating the merits of pretending to get a phone call and leaving the room to take it and then simply not coming back after. The only reason he didn’t was because the doctor would murder him for leaving him to suffer alone. The torture that came first would make this bore of a gathering seem like a cakewalk in comparison, and then end with his mother grieving for her dead son. It was probably better for his career prospects to stay. Or he could take the window instead, this was the seventh floor, it’d be a swift end and he’d avoid the torture part…

His morbid ways of self-amusement were interrupted when the doctor – sitting on his right – suddenly moved. More precisely, his hands un-steepled themselves from the table and started forming words.

ok, so, I'm seeing that apparently some folks are scared to use the yuinardo tag for the Yuichi x Rise!Leo ship bc maybe 1-2 ppl are now suggesting that it should be for the Yuichix12!Leo ship (which I wasn't aware of).

please don't do that. The tumblr tagging is confusing enough xD

Basically, it's ok to have multiple tags for multiple kinds of the "same ship". Basically, I made this ship tag specifically for the Yuichi x Rise!Leo ship back in october because I thought a funnier or light-hearted sounding name would be fun - it combines Yuichi and Leo's nickname Nardo cuz well, those are both unique parts of their names.

But I also I made it bc I wanna eventually write a tmnt crossover where both leosagi (03) and yuinardo (these younger ones) show up as pairings, and wanted something that sounded unique and - smth that's become a "discussion topic" now in fandom - separate the tags a bit! cuz I like going into one tag and seeing one kind of ship vs multiple different kinds. it's confusing after a while.

so if you want to use it too, keep using it and see if others pick it up! I'll prob keep using it bc the Leochi/Leoichi tags are confusing to use for my dumb simple brain.

i don't know what could be a good tag for Yuichi x 12!Leo, but imo the peeps who ship it should decide themselves. I guess something like 12!Leochi would make sense based on previous shipname conventions or maybe 12!yuinardo if it's smth people really like to use

I've seen one person tag the transfem version of both (?) as "Blue Sapphics" and that's valid, sounds like a nice tag.

anyway, ship names are supposed to be just fun and easy to use so that was my main motivation to make a new one cuz it seemed a bit confusing to use the leosagi one originally :'D

I (somehow) decided to continue a fic I started to write while being fueled out of spite (as it's a fic dedicated to a rare ship, take that as you will 🫠) during very early 2023 and I am already (somehow) in the best place to conclude it, lol.

And I... dunno. Lol. For one, I originally wanted it to be more... spiteful, lmao. I know there's smth about "etiquette" about this especially with my intentions about it being "spiteful", but... life is life and all that sh*t, and I kinda wanted it to be the main motivator of movement in this thing. "Some things may happen, but life keeps moving, regardless". (although I don't show exactly what)

And, tbh! I wanted to do much MORE with it! But decided to make it as "the start of something anew" for the MCs, and MAYBE explore the consequences of that later on in this "canon"... but it all depends on my interest and/or also on how I do with my OCs and advance more on that front (and other things, but, yeah).

A few things though:

a) I feel it's a little OOC. Truth to be told, I vaguely remember the base material, and I tried my hardest to make their voices as "similar" as their canon ones, from the bits I have reread. However, the canon material of the timeframe (aka they are in their last year/semester of college? they are 24/25 years old) for this is non-existant (or I prefer to ignore if any extra things that could have happened in that timeframe? lmao). SO. Hence why I I go for that "after-canon" flavor of "well, things happen, too bad? too good?" and while they may have changed/aged, I try to make things sound like, deep inside, they haven't changed THAT much.

b) I wanted it to make it much more steamier :). Somehow, I couldn't do much besides making out scenes :))). Maybe I would later on in that "canon"? I'm establishing the rare ship into a romantic relationship first, pls. LMAO. But, really... I feel it was getting steamier, but, also... maybe it wasn't the right time to do so given circumstances around the plot :)))

I'm so close to finish it, hopefully posting it in late November/December. I might do some edits and voilá.

(At this point, I shouldn't be the one saying this, but all my writings -with very few exceptions- are in Spanish :') )

1) please do not take this the wrong way but although I have a Lot Of Things I Like, I am a glee/Klaine blog and mostly wrote fic about them akdhakdj and I noticed you’re multi fandom and idk if there’s glee there so i don’t know how we ended up following each other but i ain’t complaining bc you’re super cool and also I AM SORRY IN ADVANCE THIS IS ABOUT KLAINE FROM GLEE *right where you left me plays gently in background*

This one shit lived rent free in my head around December of last year and I *almost* started writing it but I didn’t?? I might fuck around and try to finish it in time for this year Christmas though!

Blaine is a choir director at a middle school (no I’m not projecting……. Yes I’m projecting, but I’m also just a slut for teacher AUs) and Kurt is an English teacher/coach.

Theyve been working together for four years or so, and it’s coming up towards the end of the fall semester, and there’s a holiday exchange between coworkers. Kurt gets someone random and Blaine says he gets the science teacher or smth I don’t fucking know

Blaine has been feeling burnt out in his position for some time, ever since an administration change a couple of years ago, and he’s thinking about leaving schools. Throughout the fic it would like, jump back and forth between the present and show key moments in their friendship: at the beginning Blaine goes to a volleyball game to support his athlete students and he’s like “I try to make it to what I can. I will say, I’ve never seen a coach at a single one of their concerts.” And Kurt’s internally like “aight bet I’m going to every single one.”

Another moment is during a work day, they just hang out and help each other decorate/set up their classrooms

Kurt consoles Blaine after administration cuts his budget or keeps pulling kids out of his class

They get closer and closer but in the present, Blaine’s talking to his classes and admitting that he won’t be back after the end of the semester. The kids are like “IS IT BECAUSE WE SUCK???” And blaines just like no, you were the reason I stuck it out so long. Kurt overhears this and confronts Blaine later like “YOU LITTLE SHIT WHEN WERE YOU TELLING ME YOU WERE LEAVING??” but then calms down and is like “I hope you go somewhere you’re truly appreciated” blah blah

Finally, it’s the last day of the semester, and the faculty have their holiday gist exchange, and Kurt gives his gift to random teacher and SURPRISE Blaine had Kurt, so he gives him his gift and is like “just don’t open it until after I leave.” and then they say goodbye, Blaine takes off, and Kurt opens it and it’s something really nice and thoughtful idk I don’t have all the answers aight??? But there’s also a card in there that says “The kids weren’t the only reason I stayed so long.”

And then Kurt runs to the parking lot and is like “HEY BITCH WHAT THE FUCK?? YOU CANT JUST SAY THAT AND THEN PEACE OUT?” and then they kiss!

OK not to be hvaing Daeran Thoughts™ in this the month of december 2023 but. i just wanna talk about how “i thought you didn’t want to lose me” and “see? i’m indispensable” are two voice lines of his. this man? who doesn’t acre about how other people see him? who never wanted to be on this adventure in the fisrt place? is worried about being unwanted?? i am clenching this thought in my powerful jaws and i am frantically shaknig my head like a dog with a bone

ahahahahah gonna be playing for a third time. i think i’ll do the trickster mythic path? i have a strong distaste for evil shit and a mild distaste for lawful shit, which make demon, lich, and aeon not particularly appealing. i could also switch to dragon or smth; i was tempted in my last playthrough but didn’t want to potentially lose aivu, so.

ajshdfjgka playing as a man this time to maybe hit on sosiel we’ll see and when i went to retrieve woljif i lost it when he called me dreamboat i just wasn’t expecting

working through a lich playthrough now and in chapter 3 it’s actually been really sick. my favorite little touch is how, when controlling the crusades, each victory adds more undead to your forces. in order to get myself to choose the option i had to go hardcore into the roleplaying. my commander is maya, a druid, worships urgathoa, doesn’t like being human and is honestly indifferent to human suffering. she spends most of her time in wild shape. ppl confuse her and her leopard companion, lilia, often. probably would have disappeared into the sunset except that she found being made commander extremely funny and then developed a possessiveness for the crusaders so she’s actually trying to lead well.

i am physically incapable of choosing the dialogue options that let you start arueshalae’s romance like i am not grabbing anyone’s hand and telling them i’ll teach them how to love (if i had the power to rewrite, i’d have the line be something more like. i’ll help you thru this every step of the way. anything you need. anything you want.) similar problem with camellia. i refuse to lay on thick compliments and butter her up by talking about her social stature. and then the next chance to express interest is when she’s high off committing murder and wants to fuck like. nah. it’s impossible to romance any ladies in this game whoops

sosiel’s romance is also kinda,,, painful. i cut it off w him start of the 5th chapter because i just couldn’t feed into his fairytale romance novel bullshit and pass on something that felt more genuine (yay 3rd time romancing daeran.) it’s p easy to follow his route by being kind and showing that you appreciate the gestures he makes without fully buying into it. and like. being inexperienced in love and trying to express your feelings by writing bad poetry is actually super charming. but sosiel darling if you’re going to give an ultimatum while extolling the beauty and virtue of love shared by two people while your competition says that my heart doesn’t have to belong to any one person you’re just asking me to give up something good that comes at no cost for the privilege of being trapped a role in your fantasy. nah.

started lann’s romance. i do not like him. it’s fitting that i’m having the commander i don’t like romancing him. lmao it’s only my second time not romancing daeran; first was with arueshalae (pinched my nose and made those starting choices, found the whole thing kinda lackluster? tbh?) hate the way lann is sometimes straight up mean. and how he tries to frame it as a joke. hate how he’ll say you should hang crusaders who commit petty theft. hate his weird hero complex that’s incompatible with the way other’s lives aren’t a priority to him and mostly arises out of. idk a sense of ego? still holding out hope this’ll be interesting even if exploring the character in this manner isn’t the most appealing to me. (LOL i cut it off with him. he was just like. oh look at me being so pathetic trying to date you it’s crazy how could someone like you ever take an interest in me i’m so pathetic and i was like. okay. maybe you are pathetic. maybe i don’t have an interest in you. and then i was running the lich path so this saved his life actually lol. lmao. lmfao.)

i’m kind of surprised that that was the final chapter. it was an appropriate end and everything but the way crusade management was set up, it felt as though there was more to come. like. events dumped three free generals into my lap when i already had the map cleared out. there were some references to generals reaching level 20 but none of my three (the ones i actually used) got anywhere close to that. there were so many different types of units but for most of them, there wasn’t any reasonable way to accrue a usable number. with the way galfrey mucked things up, i was frantic about getting the armies in order to face big things to come and those big things just didn’t come. the fact that crusade management wasn’t rewarding is probs my second biggest complaint.

i’m really glad there’s a wimpy baby difficulty mode because w h y are so many enemies able to rip me apart when i have 57 ac and w h y are there so many enemies with absurd spell resistance and ac high enough that you can only pray to crit

lol @ this previous paragraph because i have a playthrough on core difficulty where i fought most of the extra bosses for the achievements and leveling the characters myself from the ground up gave me a good understanding of their abilities. i definitely am not an advocate of the autoleveling; either the builds are inherently mid or just incompatible with the way i play. also dispel magic is so strong.

pretty sure i’m going to be playing through again though because i want to see other mythic paths (my first playthrough i didn’t look up anything about unlocking them so i only had angel and demon available at first lmao) and to spend more time with some of the companions. i never found all the masks for nenio :(

(edit: after azata path i did find all the masks for nenio and we became friends ! there was a lot of content there jfc. i do not recommend playing when u have a migraine and ur memory is diminished but it was neat. i do like puzzles even if some of them are obtuse it’s fine we all have the internet to help with that.)

ran into a lot of glitches which i guess will happen when you dive in headfirst on release day. there were a few times people didn’t recognize the choices i had made. at one point i had a dialog option with camellia that implied we had a salacious history except no such thing happened and also i was playing as a lady and she’s straight. wasn’t able to finish a quest because the necessary items didn’t exist.

lol i had an entire companion glitch on me. i had literally no interest in greybor and i accidentally killed the dragon before i went traveling with him anyway so when he met up with the group and told the commander to hire him or he’d be forced to kill her i was like sure okay buddy you can do that. he did not die. he showed up wherever companions were supposed to show up, but i could never talk to him, just attack him. he didn’t realize he had already been rejected how embarrassing

(idk if greybor glitched again or if i did something wrong but azata playthrough i really did try to recruit him but he got pissy after the fight when i wanted to pursue the dragon and even though i tried i failed but maybe i did something wrong?? waited too long? did very little to endear him to me tbh)

(trickster playthrough and i finally have greybor as a companion. i’m hoping to like him better after spending more time with him but. he really is just a wannabe manly man’s wet dream of a roleplaying character. in a want to be him way, not a want him way. haha unless)

kinda surprised that i ended up romancing daeran but tbh no regrets. the more i got to know lann the less i liked him (the final part of his questline was. ugh. why are you so whiny about how i kept you from killing yourself.)(i swear sometimes he says things just to remind you that his alignment is lawful neutral)(one of my first impressions of him was scaly alastair but that might be disrespectful to alastair tbh)(actually he and daeran told me to choose btwn them at one point and i was like???? lann i said it’d be cool if you wanted to hang out without making up stupid excuses like sparring matches meanwhile daeran has been doing all sorts of wining and dining what sort of incel bullshit) (there’s some party banter with ember where she’s like, lann jokes but really he’s just sad and i was like yea i feel that)(it’s like he isn’t even committed to his jokey persona) and arueshalae was wonderful but i’m not a fan of the teaching someone how to love narrative (i wanted to. i really tried but i just couldn’t bring myself to choose the dialogue options where you like. take her hand and tell her you’ll show her how to love it’s too much.) daeran has the best banter and also he filled the war room with flowers so a+ partner

(his alignment is evil but honestly i don’t see it? he can be vengeful ig? not that he’s never shitty but i’d put him at neutral maybe leaning evil bc the good counters the bad. like he only punches up he regularly condemns evil acts and he’s sweet with the other companions so it’s not difficult to be fond of him)(FURTHER. something i put together after uhhh some number of playthroughs. there’s banter where daeran asks arue if she’s actually good with desna having taken control of her life bc the same thing happened to him with the other and it was terrible and he hated it. so. all those times he tries to tempt her. he’s not just being awful. he’s trying to give her a choice.)

more thoughts abt his relationships with the companions!!!! it’s actually rlly funny that my instinct was to say that he was sweet with them bc on a replay i became aware of just how shitty he sounds if you fully take his words at face value. you can’t, though. he acknowledges himself that venomous is his default affect and that he has trouble expressing his kinder emotions. he also says that when he has a problem with someone, he isn’t afraid to let them know it. there’s a bit of banter where lann says anything less that an insult from daeran is p much a compliment which i think is an oversimplification but just drives home the point that even others can see that when he’s being mean, it’s often more about having fun than genuine distaste. when coming from him, things that might seem mean are actually meant as playful teasing. 

when i say he’s sweet with the companions, i mean that he lambasts paladins frequently, but always lets seelah know that he isn’t talking about her; he likes her. (yOu’rE nOt LiKe tHe oThEr pAlAdInS is maybe not a great worldview but)

he lets sosiel know that he appreciates his art. there’s banter where he tells sosiel that he would be quite the catch ;)

he’s actually protective of ember; he warns her to be careful about cultists and zealots. this one really gets me because the two have such fundamentally different views but i don’t recall him ever castigating her for it. rolling his eyes from time to time, maybe, but mostly nudging her away from what he sees as dangerous.

he’s happy to play along with nenio’s dumb experiments. finds them amusing.

he and camellia can be so bitchy about other nobles together it’s like they’re on the same team and it’s great.

don’t even get me started about his relationship with woljif ok. woljif is everything high society hates so of course daeran latches onto that right away. i love the banter where he talks about introducing woljif to parties with other nobles, which of course could be interpreted as him looking to rope woljif into those things for a few laughs, but what really gave substance to it for me was an exchange they had in the thousand delights. woljif is excited to be in a brothel and daeran is like. listen we don’t consort with demons they’re miserable creatures instead, when we get out of here, i’m going to give you a whole bunch of gold and give you a tour of the brothels in absalom. he so easily tells woljif that he’ll give him the things that he desires. he commits to making this trip with him. there is very little to gain there for daeran; he could easily tour the brothels alone were he so inclined, but instead, he agrees to do this for a friend.

actually i feel like in banter, the others are more likely to be making fun of him than he is of them? he’s both perfectly self aware and he likes who he is so he’d mostly be amused by it. in general i don’t think a companion insulting daeran (or he them in the case of those like lann and seelah who can bite back) is a sign of a bad relationship.

(enough about daeran back to the other companions lmaoo)

i like nenio more than i expected she’s so funny. she seemed cold at first what with her refusing to remember your name and all but after a while, with her earnest enthusiasm for what she does, it became endearing.

actually i’ve discovered that having good banter is one of the most important factors in how much i like a character. like i have no problems with seelah or sosiel but since their banter tends to be flat i just never fell in love. also i’m not really into camellia’s whole thing but i have fun with her because of the noble code switching she and daeran will do, like referring to each other by title.

i think a lot of the reason lann fell flat for me was because of his inability to maintain the funny guy persona? everyone thinks of him as the guy who makes jokes, but. i remember first talking to him and he tells you he wants to make a difference. and when you ask for clarification he’s like imma invent a new type of salad :) jk actually i hate myself and i want to die in battle because i’m afraid of my death being as meaningless as my life. took like no prompting for him to switch. rewrite of that exchange bc it frustrates me

I haven’t posted in a while so I decided to post smth during my study break (yeah right)

Umm anyways, I didn’t get the best results during my second tests I have to say...a lot of internal tantrums were thrown (?) but yeah I just need to work harder I guess.. right now I just hope that I get really good grades on my assignments bec if I don’t I’ll probably cry my eyes out and then do nothing... so yeah </3

Also my teammates for this group project are insufferable, every minute I have to do any thing with them I lose brain cells, they have zero common sense and they’re all talk, like we’re supposed to turn in this video this Monday, and they were like let’s finish it by Thursday and we haven’t even started it, so I was like that’s impossible we can finish it by Saturday that’s logical and they had the nerve to ghost me and say that they could do it by Thursday, but then this other girl says that it’s impossible to do it by Thursday and they were like ok... ummmm hello????? do u guys lack a brain or smth... god I’m so pissed off, and I don’t even want to talk abt how our topic sucks ass, it’s so fucking basic and for what? Also they told me to submit the report we’re supposed to make and I told all of them to check if it’s good and after I submitted it they decided that it needs editing (btw I knew that it sucked ass, but I didn’t say anything since they were hyping it up.. I swear they were hyping up a word document and it was so basic you guys!!!) I think it'll be okay for you to ask for a refund, seeing that they don't deliver what's expected of them. If what was promised were new themes every month then it should be delivered. You have the rights. I think theme makers, if they find it hard to deliver every month, should do smth like pay per theme and not like a whole subscription. Because people have other things they commit to that would use money and not getting what was promised kinda sucks and waste.. a lot of money. I'm all about supporting people, but you should commit to what you say.

i definitely agree ! i’m a patron of three theme makers and one of them did issue a refund one month because they didn’t make a theme, which is entirely understandable and made me realize it’s possible. i’d rather have someone be upfront about it and refund their patrons rather than go radio silent into the next month. it also irritates me when they try to make additional themes the following month because like, what if i had ended my subscription the month before ? i still would have been paying for nothing. if you’re paying someone and they’re saying “hey, if you pay this amount you’ll get a theme this month” then that should be upheld. if not, either refund your patrons or maybe yeah, make it a pay per theme instead. it sucks even more because this theme maker promises two themes a month but yet, never posted anything in december. i don’t want to be rude because i understand it’s a hard time for motivation, but when you have 100+ patrons paying you for something you’ve promised, you need to keep your end of the deal.

edit: also this made me realize that when you end a patreon subscription, you lose every single post you had access to UNLESS it was pay by post... which most theme makers don’t do. so basically, it’s better to just buy individual themes than pay for a monthly subscription where you might not even get what you paid for / lose access to it at some point... cool

Idk why this last two seasons has taken so long to start filming, s3 began the production like 6 months after s2 premiered and and renewal for s4 is late too, which a don’t see a reason why it took them that much time (we already knew about it too). Now they will start production for s4 in January i think is a bit late, if the season premieres at the end of 2020

Yeah I mean I rlly wish I had an answer for you, but I don’t. I have no clue why it’s taking them so long. I don’t understand why they’re not starting production much much sooner, bc I think it makes absolutely no sense to take these massive gaps before they even start filming. And we know it’s not Netflix bc they were rushing the show to start filming s4 before s3 even released and the Duffers said no. I’m sure they have their reasons, but who knows what those are. They would need to be lucky to get it released in 2020 if they start production that year tho. They filmed s3 in 7 months, which is honestly pretty good time, but even then took over 7 months of post-production work. A lot of that post-production time I’m sure was unnecessary and they were just waiting for July 4th, but even still, all that CGI is gonna take a long time and each season has progressively more effects. They may be able to shave the post production time off by a month or two, but definitely no more. And with filming itself, 7 months was quick. They were probably only able to do it so quick bc most of the kids were grouped together all season (except Gaten and Priah) so the effect of child labor laws was limited (as opposed to in s2 where there were a lot more plotlines going on within the kids group and since each kid could only work so much time per day it took a while to film everything. having the kids condensed into the same scenes def helps speed up filming). That’s smth we can’t rlly predict the effect of until we know more about the plot, but we know El and Will are at least gonna be off. We don’t know how the kids are gonna be divided this season, and the more fractured the group is, the longer it’ll take to film it. But yeah on average they can do an episode a month, so I would expect filming to take around 8 months, barring any filming delays or just in general any aspects of the season that might take longer. And then we’re gonna have several months of post production. They would REALLY have to go fast to have the season ready by the end of 2020. They would need to be doing the post production editing as they go, and not have a lot of opportunities for reshoots if need be. The Duffers would definitely be stretched thin having to deal with directing and writing and editing overlapping to get the season ready on time. Honestly, I think more realistically we’re looking at an early 2021 release, which I know no one wants to hear, but it might be the best thing. The season overall will be better if they’re not rushing, plus, and this is just my personal feelings on it, but 2021 prob means a smaller time jump. If we’re following this idea that every season will be released roughly the time it takes place (which I mean, might not be the case anymore but just assuming for now it is) then a December 2020 release would prob take place December 1986. But an early 2021 release would likely take place early 1986. And I mean that surely isn’t set in stone, but personally if I had to choose between waiting longer for the season but the season taking place with less of a time gap from s3, or getting the season a few months earlier with a MUCH bigger time gap, I’m patient, I would choose the shorter gap

Day 2- When did you start this blog?

I know for sure that it was in the second half of 2019, but probably not in November. Maybe December? The thing is, at first I started to reblog SJ stuff on my main blog but eventually my main started to get flooded with ski jumping reblogs every weekend so I decided to make a sideblog for that. I did not know what to call this sideblog so I just went with ski-jumper-stan, I'm not super happy with my profile name but until I find a better name it'll stay (If you have any suggestions hit me up!). My profile pic has stayed the same since I started this blog, it's a picture of Selina Freitag I robbed took from her Insta. I just like her, she's a ski jumper and the pic and her are pretty, so 🤷

My header changed more often than the name or pic, I don't even know what it was when I started… probably a pic of Lellinger or smth. For a while my header pic was a GIF of the Sax Guy from Sunstroke Project playing his saxophone in Eurovision 2017 and currently it's Pierre Gasly with one if the pics surrounding his win in the Italian GP 2020. And that is because I started go use this blog as a blog for not only ski jumping content but also for ESC stuff, motorsports related reblogs and sometimes other (winter) sports or football.

Another Update---What Now?

So. I finally won fucking NaNoWriMo I finished that shit 5 days early in fact. I’m pretty proud of myself but more than anything, I kinda wanna lay down and never open up google docs ever again.

That being said, rest is for the weak, I still have a lot of shit to do, so this post is kinda me organizing my ideas and spitting them out. When I talk/type out my ideas and share them, it helps me figure things out. Which is what this is, mainly.

As of right now, I still need to actually finish Mirroring Shadows (My NaNo novel) as tho it is now 50k words+, it’s not even halfway done yet. Kinda makes me wanna cry but that’s how it is I guess. Since I wanna get the “update every day during November” achievement for NaNo, I’ll prob end up still working on that until December 1st. Then I’m gonna take a break from Mirroring Shadows and return to it either when I am no longer sick of writing it and wanna continue it, or in January. We’ll see which comes first. 

That being said, I will probably both be taking some breaks during most of December (both because of my current burned out-ness and also school shit) but once the semester ends, I’ll return to writing full-force hopefully unless my shitty mental health gets in the way. 

During December, I hope to post a new BAP oneshot (this one is gonna be smut ;3c), chip away more at LiaL and try and get. SOMETHING done. At least a chapter. I hope. Aaand lastly, I will also be trying to finish Icarus. I’m more than halfway done with Icarus so we’ll see how that goes.

On top of all that writing mumbo-jumbo, I also wanna get to reading my first draft for my Counting Stars novel. As of right now, it is severely underwritten and a lot of it needs a complete rehaul and most likely, most of it will need to be rewritten from scratch.

I won’t get into the nitty-gritty writing process during December, tho. December will be me printing it out, reading its bullshit, hating it, and then marking it all up and figuring out a new outline for it. God. Fun. I guess. But not until 2018! 

Now that NaNo is over, my main goal is, of course, “getting shit done that’s been sitting around.” I really wanna finish Icarus so I can be done with it and not have it on my plate anymore, I really wanna get back into the groove with LiaL so I can get that posted and put together again, and I ALSO am still applying edits to LiaFt.

AND ON TOP OF ALLLLL THAT STUFF I might be moving some of my fics over to WattPad. I haven’t decided quite yet. If I did, it would most likely be my more completed and... “”respectable”” fics. Sorry Triphile such as The Once Upon a Time Trilogy, Icarus, There’s Still No Cure For Crying, My Sincerest Apologies, and also some of my original works MINUS 30 Ways since 30 Ways is super old and misgenders Ophiel and I guess I should edit that but jesus that will take forever and I really don’t want to. 

Idk. I’m throwing lots of ideas at the wall and most of them I’ll forgot. I’ll probably make a poll about whether or not I should post anything fanfiction related on WattPad, then do ANOTHER poll with what fics I should transfer over there. 

Maybe. I might do that if I actually remember to do that.

Speaking of posting nonsense, I am debating on whether I wanna post Mirroring Shadows online. It might be a good idea to actually show my novels (or at least one lol) to people rather than just hope the charisma I totally have will interest people (note: I am being sarcastic. I am well aware my Charisma is like a -5 or smth). 

Thing is, Mirroring Shadows isn’t done, I have no idea when it will be done, I am terrified of people ignoring my original writings as most people do bc it sucks I guess idk, and yeah. Which is why I am REALLY on the fence and will probably do a poll about this as well December is gonna be the month of polls I guess guys 

Anyways. Yeah. That’s allll that’s up. I hope you can make sense of this gibberish I just typed out. There’s a lot of it.

I wasn't sure abt its behaviour bc it seemed like it cld get irritated fast. In the end my mother told me to throw it out so I did against my will but when I saw it walk away... it had a missing leg.... I was like oh shit dude no come back... so I went and opened the front door and it came back running !!! I couldn't leave it like that w/o food if it already was incapacitated in a way. so that was my new cat. everything ends well ( I'm pp sure I forgot a part of that part but it's not the one I'm interested in )

SECOND PART... THE CÅSTLË. i was in a castle that was more medieval than renaissance styled or whatever the fuck i didnt study architecture but yes this. it had a courtyard with a fountain and that courtyard had a beautiful view on The Unknown ( aka fields and forests and stuff yknow just. The view ) but there were also bridges ( not the rock kind the "we use it in movies to make a character dramatically fall after the villain cut the rope" kind ) and little paths to go to The Unknown. there was a built-in church ( not a christian but i guess that was a smart choice given most attendees were fire emblem characters and they were definitely christians ) and also stables i guess ? but the front stables were empty and i didn't get to see the actual stables. the front stables had a pathway going around them ( there was a front stable on the left and on the right, with the courtyard being a little pushed back ? like if you left the end of the stable pathway you were already past the courtyard )

so now picture all ot this but suddenly the sky is super dark and everything is grim and gloomy. like a typical halloween movie. everything that was neat feels now worn out and the pathways are definitely scary, nobody wants to go there !

i was looking for my friends ( aka mercedes from fire emblem three houses ) but somehow couldn't find them, a fight broke out between ingrid and annette ( also fire emblem three houses ) and i don't like rich horse girls nor do i like racists so i was about to beat ingrid's ass. this big dude comes in and threatens me so i scold him and he and ingrid both go away. i win. i talk to more people but they're all acting weird except annette i guess. whatever weirdos i'm out

next i keep looking, but now i'm not alone - i'm not sure of whether it's a real presence or just a spirit until the end of this sequence where this boy tells me where to go and what to do to fix things a little, so i go into both stable pathways and end up being possessed twice ( demonic possession isn't as bad as they tell you i turned out fine ) so when the boy tells me where to go next i'm like "are we getting possessed a third time ?" he chuckles. ( i am gay so that was cute )

but we don't get any time to do that third thing ! we get out of the pathways and everyone is planning to go fight whatever is beyond The Unknown ! i look at the boy and awake me now pictures him as kraam from the stranded. cool i have a nice partner in crime i'm okay with that. the others leave, there's a lot of them but a second group is getting ready ! so kraam-but-not-quite grabs my arm firmly but like he doesn't hurt me or anything and we start going into The Unknown as well. im like hey wtf do we do now. and he tells me oh these two groups are going mad that couldn't be us let's go find the stray kids ( awake me now realises this is ~cringe~ but dream me was like whoa a solitary group of ppl who fight bigger evils ! BC YES THAT WAS WHAT SKZ WERE DOING IN THIS DREAM but i never met them ) so we can join forces w them and defeat these ppl. i look back. i see the second group from afar bc they have torches. im like wow this is like beauty and the beast.

something happens, idk what, but kraam starts running ! i'm a slow runner so i thought oh fuck not again but i ran after him anyway, the next bit is us running through a sort of jungle ( the sky is clear again ) and like its CRAZY i fucking loved that bit bc WOO ADVENTURE !! ( im a sagittarius )

then we slip between two trees' leaves and end up in a facility. we keep running bc if we stay there We Will Die. suddenly i am slowed down ( which leads me to believe before that he was holding my wrist but released my wrist when he slipped between the trees ) but he checks on me which i appreciate because that means he would rather die with me than survive without me, romance luv

his father ! the bastard. tries to kiss me in front of his mother. im like lmao dude thats disgusting die n go to catholic hell. i push him away and tell him off, he gets pissed but i cant go look for kraam bc his brothers r telling me abt how we're gonna go on a road trip. im like ? the world is abt to end tho ? but apparently my dream rly wanted a drama plot so fine.

his brothers have, allegedly, caught on to an alleged potential relationship between us. no im not gonna complain abt it im lonely and sad and gay so my dream fills in for me. theyre talking abt how theres not enough room for all of us in the van unless i sit on kraam for the trip but they ( specifically the one brother who oddly reminds me of dbk rain ) somehow make it into a sexual joke ? being me tho i didnt get it KSBSKDH... they were like talking abt legs ?? i remember it was abt how it wouldnt work with smth with four legs 'unless i could go with three' and like i dont even know what the hell that was supposed to mean we're talking abt a van not a horse ygwim ?

idk if i woke up after that but my brain did picture both me complaining to kraam abt his dad doing that and him getting quietly angry and just telling me to not come close to him again just in case hed try it again AND the beginning of the 'road trip' where i was indeed using kraam as a seat. and i was sleeping bc idk maybe i was tired from the running ! i hope my next dream is the continuation bc boy that was a whole drama episode

also i gave up and started calling him just kraam but it wasnt kraam ofc he just had kraams face from what i remember ! but he wasnt kraam at all
