15 questions, however many people
Tagged by @rosieposiepuddingnpie (was finally able to have the time and memory to actually do one of these lol)
1. Are you named after anyone? My dad actually! His name is also Bobbi. Except it’s spelled the masculine way. And he’s technically named after his grandfather Robert.
2. When was the last time you cried? It’s actually been a while now. Long enough for the short term memory to forget how long it’s been. But it’s usually quite often for one reason or another. Perhaps it was right around Christmas?
3. Do you have kids? No but I want kids so very bad. I love children so much. Every age group is great for different reasons!
4. Do you use sarcasm? Naturally? No. If I was taught it I never would have used it or realized it existed. I’ve forced myself to use it but I really only do it with people I super duper trust because I’m often mistaken for being completely serious. It’s not a concept that comes easily for me.
5. What's the first thing you notice about people? How they greet me, if at all. How they hold themselves, are the being forced to introduce themselves? Are they making the first move so to speak? Is their handshake confident or slacked? Do they even bother with a handshake ( understandably of course, Covid is still alive and well). Then it’s physical stuff like hair, eyes, and mouth. I stare at peoples mouths when they talk so really it’s probably mouth and teeth right after eyes.
6. What's your eye color? Hazel, but like REALLY dark hazel. They are a perfect mix of my moms very dark brown eyes and my dads dark green eyes. So they look brown from afar until they get direct light then you can see the inner ring is more green and the outer ring is completely brown.
7. Scary movies or happy endings? I like both, it really depends on the expectations the movie sets for itself. Like if I go into a happy movie and I’m scared I’ll be upset. But scary movies should be scary imo. I also hate spoilers and love surprises so I try to avoid spoiling myself.
8. Any special talents? Uh drawing? I guess. But I consider that more of a learned skill than a talent. I just started young. I’d say as far as special, I can make a clown horn noise with my throat by restricting air flow and then breathing fast. Kids love it, and honestly adults do too.
9. Where were you born? Texas, been here my whole life. :/
10. What are your hobbies? Drawing. Recently got an iPad and Apple Pencil and the barrier for my brain to start drawing is was less. Booting up my laptop often was too many hurdles and it made me draw less. Also reading fanfic for sure. I’m constantly looking for good fics. (I’d write but I’m ass at writing and the thought of posting any of my shitty writing makes me feel ill)
11. Do you have any pets? Yes!!! I have two sweet boys named Faendal and Chonk. Faendal is a shelter mutt. He’s white with very light tan spots and big ole pointed ears that stick straight up. And Chonk is a Pittbull, Labrador, Husky mix. Yeah you read that right. Although he has none of the physical traits of lab or husky. He looks Pitt but he’s got the braincells of a lab and the mouth of a husky.
12. What sports do you play/have you played? No sportsball. I danced competitively in highschool though on the local drill team. And I was what my friends so lovingly called a “mathlete” since I was like 10. I competed in mental math basically.
13. How tall are you? 5'4” ish
14. Favorite subject in school? Math, Physics, Art
15. Dream job? Gosh idk if I have a dream job anymore. When I was a teenager my answer would have been pediatrician. But now idk. I toy with the idea of doing art for a living. But I’m afraid of the job market and I’m not good at selling myself. And also do I wanna make my favorite hobby my job? And then I’m rather good at math so I should utilize it right? That’s what every one tells me. “You have such a unique skill set being so good at math, it would be so easy to get a math degree and a great job.” But would I be bored? Idk that’s a loaded question.
Idk who I should tag 🤔 perhaps @naked-aardvark (although you never do them ಠ_ಠ) @theheightofdishonor if ya feeling up to it. And of course anyone I didn’t tag and wants to!

Chapter Guide:
Previous / The End ❁

I’m not a morning person.
Never have been.
I used to dread the signs of a new day. I used to go to bed and groan at the thought of the sun peering through my curtains and calling me back to the real world. I’d curse the morning birds and their repetitive song and roll my eyes at the overly cheerful morning news host, who obviously sported a fake smile every time she was on air.
The only reason I used to wake up was for Yunho.
When my alarm went off, my first thoughts were getting Yunho ready for the new day, so he didn’t have to hate it like I did. I’d wake him up, help him choose his outfit for the day, make his breakfast while he got dressed, and send him off to school. With a genuine smile. Even if I wasn’t a morning person, I’d be one for him.
But things are different now.
The sun peeked its soft, pale yellow rays through the sheer ivory curtains that covered the windows of our bedroom. The sun’s warmth laid over my face like the hand of a mother trying to rouse its child from sleep. I was familiar with the motion. Several birds sung their morning tune, perched up on bare branches as they serenaded the woods like they have been since the first time they peeped. It was winter, meaning the birds have migrated to warmer places, although Busan’s climate didn’t make it feel like such. Yes, it was cold, but it was no winter wonderland.
Despite the slight chill outside and the slightly cloudy skies, everything felt pleasantly warm. Like the house was on its own schedule, changing seasons whenever it deemed necessary. It felt like the perfect April spring day under the white sheets of our bed, wrapped in a pair of gentle, slightly tanned arms. My body cradled in the embrace of my shirtless lover.
“Ma! Hobi! Wake up!” A giggle voice called, followed by the patter of running feet. Hoseok and I grumbled, playfully ignoring the hybrid and snuggling deeper into the covers. We heard Yunho scoff as we held back our giggles, waiting for him to do what he always did. He indulged our silent expectations. Yunho jumped up on the bed, shaking the mattress and us as he hopped up and down, laughing.
I relented and peeked my eyes open. My heart softened when I saw Yunho’s smile (Which was missing a couple of teeth) “Well, good morning to you too,” I chuckled, moving to sit up. “No...” a gruff voice from beside me grumbled. Hoseok tightened his arms around my figure, trying to persuade me back down in bed so he could snuggle me more.
I smiled, petting his bed head as compensation for my utterly rude movement. He grumbled again, opting to just snuggle into my side. “Hobi!! Wake up!” Yunho whined, bounding over to the older hybrid, jumping on top of him and grabbing his face with his hands, which were comically smaller. Hoseok let out a little “oomph” sound before he let Yunho move his head around and poke at his cheeks.
Hoseok’s eyes were still closed, but the heart-shaped smile that graced his face gave off waves of happiness. “Okay, champ, I’m awake,” He chuckled, peeking his honey eyes open to look at Yunho. The ten-year-old cheered in victory, scrambling off Hoseok to sit in my lap. “Do you know what day it is?” He grinned, his missing front teeth on full display.
I hummed playfully, tapping my finger against my chin as Hoseok watched us with a smile from where he was laying next to me. “Hmm, well, today is a big day, am I right?” I teased. Yunho nodded vehemently. “A very big day,” Hoseok commented. “Could it be... Your big day?” I asked. Yunho giggled. “Yes!” He exclaimed, wrapping me in a hug and nuzzling his face in the crook of my neck. I wrapped my unoccupied arm around him, giving him a kiss on the top of his head.
“Why don’t you get dressed and I’ll make your favorite breakfast?” I offered. Yunho pulled back and looked at me with stars in his eyes before chirping out an “okay!” before he squeezed me one last time, bent down and gave Hoseok a hug, and scurried out of the room. The two of us watched him go with warm, melted hearts. “He gets cuter as the years go by,” I sighed. “Wait until he’s a teenager,” Hoseok poked. I looked down at his teasing smile with a pout. “Don’t say that!” I whined, doing my best to wiggle out of his grasp.
Hoseok didn’t let go, he just held me tighter while he cackled at my attempts. “You’re mean,” I chuckled, pushing his face away from my side. Hoseok playfully nipped at my hands with his sharp canines, fighting them off like his life depended on it. All with a smile on his face. “But you love me,” He gushed, nuzzling his face into my stomach once he won the fight against my hands.
I rolled my eyes, giving him one last scratch behind the ear before I swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood up. Hoseok whined, but let me go. “Come on, you menace. Put a shirt on and help me with breakfast.” I said, throwing on one of his sweatshirts and making my way downstairs. I heard him dramatically groan.
I made my way to the kitchen and got out the ingredients for blueberry pancakes, Yunho’s favorite. Today was January 14, Yunho’s 10th birthday. He’s been eagerly waiting for this day since December, constantly dropping hints of what he wanted and what he’d like to do. So for today, Hoseok and I planned to take him out to a new amusement park with Hyejin, Yoongi, and Hajun (a different from the one we frequented), go out for dinner, and come back home for ice cream. (and presents of course)
“Hobi!!” I heard Yunho call from upstairs and the aforementioned man responded with a “Yes?” before I heard his footsteps trail through the upstairs hallway. When Yunho was about 7, he started calling Hoseok “Hobi” instead of “Mr. Hoseok” once he realized that Hoseok was sticking around for a bit. I think it was because Yunho fully accepted him into his life, but Hoseok argues that “Mr. Hoseok” was just too much of a mouthful.
“Eomma... Where’s Hobi?” Yunho mumbled one morning while I fiddled with the coffee machine. I looked down at him with a quirked brow. “Hobi?” I asked, and he nodded. “Yeah, Mr. Hoseok. Where is he? Did he leave?” He pouted. I gave him a reassuring smile as I picked him up and sat him down on the counter.
“Hobi went out to get some breakfast, don’t worry, he’ll be back,” I said, petting his head. Yunho leaned into the touch, looking up at me with his puppy eyes. “Promise? Promise he’ll come back?” He asked, sticking out one of his pinkies. I chuckled, grabbing his pinky with my own. “I promise. Hobi wouldn’t leave us, bub,”
Right on cue, the front door opened. Yunho’s ears stood at attention, and he quickly jumped off the counter. He ran over the Hoseok who had a box of donuts in his hands and latched onto his leg, nuzzling his face into the material of his jeans. “Hey, champ. Are you okay?” He asked, moving the box over to one hand and resting his newly unoccupied one on Yunho’s head. “Don’t leave like that!” He whined. Hoseok frowned, bending down so he could look at Yunho properly.
“I just went out to get donuts, bub,” He explained, opening the box in front of him. “I got your favorite,” He smiled, motioning for Yunho to take one. Yunho complied, picking up a regular glazed donut and taking a bite out of it. “Did Hoseok scare you because he wasn’t here when you woke up?” I asked, leaning against the wall. Yunho nodded with a slumped head.
Hoseok looked at me with sad eyes before he turned his attention back to Yunho. “I’m sorry, I’ll tell you next time, okay? And if I’m ever not here when you wake up, know that I’ll always come back.” He smiled. Yunho looked up at him. “Do you promise, Hobi?” He asked. I could tell the new name caught Hoseok off guard, but he shook it off, holding out his pinky for Yunho. “I promise.”
And he’s been calling him that for three years now.
Suddenly, Hoseok came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, resting his head on top of mine while I mixed the pancake batter. “What was up?” I asked. “His adult canines are sore again, so I gave him some medicine,” He explained. I sighed, “Hopefully they’ll settle soon, and correctly.” Hoseok moved his head to rest over my shoulder and reached over to pop a blueberry in his mouth before saying, “It’ll be okay. I remember when mine started growing in, I cried until they settled. He’s already stronger than me,” He chuckled, giving me a kiss on the cheek before he pulled away.
Not long after, Yunho came running down the stairs, bouncing over to where Hoseok was leaning against the counter and plastering himself to his leg. Hoseok smiled down at him and ruffled his hair. “How are you feeling?” He asked. Yunho shrugged, “Okay,” He answered. “Do you think you’ll be able to eat?” I asked before actually cooking any of the pancakes. “Mhm! I can eat,” He reassured. I chuckled, “Roger that,” Hoseok and Yunho both gave me a kiss before they moved into the living room to watch cartoons.
I never thought I’d be a morning person, but damn, waking up next to Hoseok really changed that.
Since that day at Geumjeongsan, Hoseok and I took things slow and steady. Nothing changed at first. Hoseok would come by for ice cream nights like he always did, but then he’d stay after I put Yunho to bed. Then he took me on dates. Then he’d stay over for a couple of days. Then I asked him to move in with me. And now here we are, about 4 years later, with a new Jung Hoseok added to Yunho and I’s little family.
My bed never felt cold anymore, nights weren’t lonely or silent, and I looked forward to the morning. The mornings where I could peak my eyes open and see Hoseok’s sleeping face right in front of me, his hair all tousled. The mornings where I could wake up and hear his laughter mixed in with Yunho’s downstairs. The mornings when I was roused from sleep with a gentle, “Wake up, baby,” or “Honey~ wakey wakey~”
I’ve never been a morning person.
But Hoseok and Yunho made me one.

The joyous screams of amusement park visitors echoed through the chilly air. The grind of rollercoasters tracks and other thrill rides hummed in a familiar rhythm. The smell of popcorn and cotton candy wafted past our noses as we entered the gates of the amusement park, keeping an eye out for a certain cat family.
“If it isn’t my favorite sister! Ready for some amusement park fun?”
“Hyejin, you’re an only child. You basically adopted me in college to fill the little sister role. And yes, of course.”
Hyejin cackled as she ran up and wrapped me in a hug, while Hoseok excitedly greeted Yoongi, his best friend, with a hug of his own. Yoongi grumbled, but I could tell liked it by the way his noir tail swished back and forth. Yunho ran over to give them a hug as well, a blinding smile plastered on his face.
Hyejin pulled away and greeted him enthusiastically, picking him up and spinning him around. Yunho squealed in delight, their giggles intermixed with each other. Once Hyejin let him down, Yunho gave her a proper hug before bouncing over to Yoongi to give him one, too. “Oh god, you're getting big,” Yoongi commented, sounding exactly like an old man. “You’re going to be taller than your mother when you 're an adult,” He snickered, and I whacked his shoulder in defense. He let out an “ow” but continued to laugh.
“You know, that means he’d be taller than you too, Yoon,” Hoseok said, and Yoongi immediately cut off his chuckles to give the taller hybrid a shoulder whack of his own. I watched the interaction with a satisfied grin before I felt a tug on my shirt. I looked down to see Hajun looking up at me, silently asking for a hug. “Well, isn’t it my favorite nephew,” I said, kneeling down to wrap Hajun in my arms. He wrapped his arms around me in return, quietly nuzzling his face in my chest.
After we all exchanged our greetings and went over the rules with the kids, Hyejin clapped her hands together with a smile. “Alright! Let the adventure begin!” She exclaimed. Hajun and Yunho cheered with her as we started walking through the park. Yunho grabbed onto Hoseok’s hand while Hajun took Yoongi’s and the two of them pulled the grown men every which way. Hyejin and I lagged a bit behind, lost in our own conversation.
We walked through the food stands and carnival games, collecting drinks and a couple stuffed animals that Yunho and Hajun guilt tripped Hoseok and Yoongi into winning for them. “Look Hobi! It looks like the dragon from my show!” Yunho grinned, pointing up the red dragon plushie that was one of the prizes for winning the “Throw the ball and knock down the bottles” game.
Hoseok looked at what he was pointing at and nodded in agreement. “Do you want it?” He asked and Yunho quickly nodded his head yes. “Now, now, I think you’ve won enough for right now,” I said. Yunho pouted, about to whine out a “But Ma...” before Hoseok beat him to it. “It’s fine, baby, just one more? Then we’ll stop,”
I sighed, relenting pretty quickly under Hoseok’s persuasive smile. He and Yunho cheered, going over to give the stall employee his money. The employee gave Hoseok three balls and pointed at the stack he’d be aiming at. Hoseok gave one of the balls to Yunho and asked him to take a shot at it. Yunho stuck his tongue out in concentration and threw the ball. It completely missed, but Hoseok was quick to turn his pout into a smile when he threw one of the other balls, successfully knocking down some of the bottles.
Now, a man throwing a worn out baseball should not be attractive. But it was. It was attractive. I knew Hoseok went to the gym whenever he could with his friend Jeongguk, and it obviously paid off. He was fit, and his flexing biceps only proved that fact further.
Hoseok threw the second ball and knocked down the rest of the bottles, winning the dragon for Yunho. Hoseok handed the toy to Yunho, but before Yunho took it completely, he rubbed it all over Hoseok, getting his scent on the toy. Hoseok let him with a smile on his face. Once he deemed it scented enough, he hugged it to his chest and grabbed Hoseok’s land, running back to where I was standing.
“Look Ma!” He said, proudly showing the stuffed toy to me. “Wow!” I gasped in that typical “impressed mother” way before I shot Hoseok a grateful smile. “What do we say?” I asked. Yunho turned around and hugged Hoseok’s leg, “Thank you, Hobi,” He said in a singsong voice. Hoseok chuckled. “You’re welcome,”
We continued on our journey through the park, occasionally stopping to get on rides like the teacups and the merry-go-round. I made sure to take plenty of pictures of Yunho’s bright face and Hoseok’s heart-shaped smile. (And occasional face of fear when the rides suddenly sped up)
“Ma! Can we go on that one?” Yunho asked, pointing at one of the rollercoasters. It was quite tame, nothing crazy, just fast paced and a couple of small drops. I looked at it, feeling my stomach go a bit queasy. I was never the best with rollercoasters. “Go with Seok and see if you reach the height limit,” I said. Yunho grabbed Hoseok’s hand and shook with excitement as he led him to where the height limit board was set up. Hajun also pulled Yoongi over.
Hyejin giggled. “They look absolutely adorable, don’t they?” She asked. “Who? Yoongi and Hajun? Yes, Yoongi and mini Yoongi are the cutest,” I chuckled, but Hyejin shook her head. “No, silly, Hoseok and Yunho,” she clarified, and I let out an ‘ohhh’ before I nodded my head in agreement. “Yes, they are also the cutest.” I smiled, watching as Yunho bounced up and down in excitement when Hoseok told him he reached the limit. The two of them looked over at me and I shot them a thumbs up, waving them off as they got in the queue.
“I’m proud of you, ya know,” Hyejin spoke up, turning to look at me. “Why’s that?” I asked. Hyejin playfully rolled her eyes because to her it was so obvious what she was alluding to. “The little family you’ve made with Hoseok,” She said, “You changed so much, and for the better. You’re literally glowing every day and so is Yunho. You don’t have that doubt anymore, and that feeling isn’t rubbing off on him anymore.”
“Really? I mean, I definitely feel better, but I didn’t know I was looking like it too.”
“I’m just happy to see you so happy.”
I smiled, looking back at where Hoseok, Yunho, Yoongi, and Hajun were standing. The four of them in their own little world as they talked about whatever. Probably music, which was what the boy’s new obsession was about. “My boys make me happy,” I said with a shrug.
“Have you ever thought about marriage?” Hyejin blurted out.
I choked on the water I was sipping, coughing it up as it made its way down the wrong pipe. Hyejin gently pat my back, like a gentle form of the Heimlich manoeuvre however the Heimlich wouldn’t help in this situation since water wasn’t a solid. “W-What?” I stuttered out, looking at Hyejin with wide eyes.
Hyejin took the fact that I wasn’t dying as an invitation to start laughing. I swatted at her with a pout. “Don’t laugh! You caught me off guard!” I whined, and Hyejin laughed harder. After she had calmed down, she took a deep breath and cleared her throat before looking at me again. “Have you ever thought of marriage? Like, marrying Hoseok?” She asked for the second time, but this time I didn’t choke. (Luckily)
“Um... No? I haven’t, isn’t thinking about this a bit too soon?” I argued. But Hyejin shook her head. “You’ve been together for like, 4 years. I don’t think it’s early at all,” She said, crossing her arms. “You’re saying you haven’t thought about it at all? Like never?” She questioned, and I shook my head. “Not at all. I just, live in the moment and appreciate the fact that Hoseok is with me in the first place,” I gushed.
“Do you want to though?” She rose a playful brow, nudging me softly. I spluttered, “I um. I don’t know...? Yes...? Marriage is expensive, though. The venue, the dress, the food-” I listed, but Hyejin quickly cut me off with a finger to my lips. “Gosh don’t think about that, think about if Hoseok were to get down on one knee and pull out a ring right now, would you say yes?” She asked. I chuckled, “Hyejin that’s-” “Nope! Answer the question!” She chirped.
I rolled my eyes. “Yeah... Yes, I’m sure I would,” I answered truthfully, feeling my ears heat up in embarrassment. Hyejin squealed, bouncing up and shaking me out of excitement. “Ah! So cute, I can’t wait for the wedding,” She gushed, wrapping her arms around me so I’d bounce up and down with her. “Hyejin! Stooopp” I whined, feeling the stares of passersby.
Hyejin pulled away once the excited cheers of rollercoaster-high Yunho and Hajun came bounding over to us. They cheerfully told us all about how Hoseok screamed and Yoongi closed his eyes the whole time. Hoseok walked over to me with a pout, clearly embarrassed about his lack of courage. He wrapped his arms around me and whined about how awful the rollercoaster was. But I could only blush as I thought about what Hyejin had talked to me about.
Tumblr media
“Happy birthday, dear Yunho, happy birthday to you!”
“Is the cake good?” I asked Yunho who had a forkful of ice cream cake in his mouth. He nodded with a smile, his face scrunching up cutely. I chuckled, petting Yunho on the head before I started to clean up the mess we had made, which was mostly wrapping paper mess from Yunho’s gift unwrapping extravaganza.
As Hyejin and I went to put the dishes in the sink and throw the trash away, she spoke up with a pout. “We’ll have to get going... All three of us have things to do in the morning,” She sighed. “Why do you sound so guilty?” I chuckled, patting her on the back in reassurance. “Because it’s so early! And I wanna hang out with you longer,” He whined. “Hyejin, you see me like all the time. It’ll be okay. Why don’t we meet up for coffee on Wednesday?” I offered.
Hyejin immediately cheered up, enthusiastically agreeing to the plans and wrapping me in a hug. “I love you,” She said. “I love you too,” I responded. Yoongi came back in from where he and Hoseok had disappeared out back, keys in his hands as he looked over at Hyejin. “Ready?” He asked, and Hyejin nodded.
Yoongi told Hajun to say his goodbyes, which he did, albeit reluctantly, as Hyejin and Yoongi said their own. “Take care,” Yoongi whispered to me, and he gave me a shoulder hug. “You say that like you 're going away for a long time,” I said. Yoongi just shrugged, “I’m not, but still, take care.” I smiled at him. “Will do and I love you too,” Yoongi looked away with a blush, running off to hide behind Hyejin.
“Bye!” We all waved as we watched them go from the front door. The Min family reciprocated with their own set of waves and chorus of “Bye”s. Having guests leave after a party aways feels so odd. I never realized just how quiet the house was at night.
“Okay! Time for bed,” Yunho chirped, padding over towards the stairs. Hoseok and I raised our brow, looking back and forth between each other and Yunho with wide eyes. That was abrupt... “You don’t want to stay up? This is the only day I let you,” I said, utterly confused. Yunho turned around and shook his head no. “Nope!” He said, popping the ‘p’ “I have school tomorrow,” He said.
“Alright, since when do you want to be ready for school?” Hoseok chuckled, tilting his head at the younger hybrid. “Tomorrow is Appa day, where we’re supposed to bring our Appa to school with us,” Yunho smiled, like what he was saying was nonchalant. I cringed. I never really like the concept of “Eomma days” or “Appa days” because, like Yunho, not everyone had an Appa or Eomma. It just seemed harmful, in a way.
“Are you sure you don’t want to stay home tomorrow?” I asked, but Yunho vehemently shook his head no. “Then Hobi and I would miss Appa day!” He whined. Now if Yunho surprised us with his enthusiasm for school, he rendered Hoseok and I... Well, speechless.
Hoseok coughed, taking a minute to process the meaning of Yunho’s words. “Is that okay...?” Yunho cautioned after seeing Hoseok’s reaction. “Yes! Yes. It’s perfectly okay. We can, um, we can get donuts for breakfast, yeah?” He sputtered out. Yunho’s face lit up. “Okay! I’m going to go take a shower,” He proclaimed before he ran up the stairs towards the bathroom.
Silence.
There was nothing in the air but silence between Hoseok and I.
Until Hoseok’s soft sniffles reached my ears.
I made my way over to Hoseok and cupped his teary face in my hands. “Hey... Why are you crying?” I asked with a worried look. Hoseok didn’t answer at first, and I gave him the space to calm down and gather himself. “He-He wants me for Appa day, so does that mean...?” He sniffled, looking at me with pleading eyes that silently asked me if this was real and not a dream. I nodded. “I think it does,”
Hoseok cried even harder, burying his face into the crook of my neck and wrapping his arms around me, holding me tight. “He sees me like that?” He cried. I didn’t realize just how seriously Hoseok took his role as a father figure, and I guess the conformation from Yunho that he was, in fact, his father figure made him feel like he had won the World Cup. “He does. You deserve that honor, Hoseok,”
“I just... I don’t... Appa”
“Shh, take a deep breath, okay?”
I let him cry in my neck until he pulled away by himself, leaving me with a saturated collar and sleeve. Hoseok looked at the wet spot and chuckled. “Sorry,” He croaked out, but I shook my head and took one of his hands in my. “No need to apologize, it’s just a shirt. Let’s get ready for bed, okay? You have a big day tomorrow.” I smiled.
Yunho was my light.
And now he has a father could be things that I couldn’t.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Just Yunho, Hoseok, and I
Tumblr media
“What’s stopping you, Seok?”
“I’m just nervous, Yoon. What if she says no?”
“Why would she say no?”
“I don’t... Know...”
“Exactly, so just take her somewhere nice and ask. That’s how I asked Hyejin,”

As a child, y/n never realized how her family was different than the others. A lot of kids on the cut had single parents, it wasn’t that big of a deal. Her mom had left when she was only three, to go pursue her dream job in Colorado. It wasn’t a bad thing in the girl’s eyes. It didn’t feel like she was missing out on anything.
As she blossomed into adolescence, y/n finally understood how unconventional her family was. She heard the other girls at her school talk about their mothers. About the cakes they made or the precious moments they spent together. Mother-daughter bonding moments. She had to admit it she felt jealous. Or maybe was it envious?
She had lived all her life without a mother to kiss her scraped knees or braid her hair before going to sleep. And she would have given anything to experience it, even for one single night.
It wasn’t that she didn’t love her brother or her father, far from it, she adored them. They were both so precious to her. Still, she felt as if something was missing from her. Or more like someone.
She didn’t remember her mother, she was so young at the time, but she cherished the stories her father had told her. She fed her imagination on these stories. Making up fake memories where her mother was still there. In her heart it was all real. Reality was bitter compared to the sweet comfort of her imagination.
By the time she was 12, she’d heard the famous story enough to know it by heart, each word of the letter engraved into her head. She begged her father again and again. She wanted more stories, even the smallest anecdotes, she wanted to hear them all. Anything to improve the sketch, constantly redrawn, of the woman she didn’t remember. The woman she couldn’t really call a mother.
She knew the story by heart and yet it felt incomplete. She’d heard enough fairytales and read enough books to know when a story was complete. This one wasn’t.
And she was right.
A week after the twins’s 13th birthday, their dad gathered them around the kitchen table. He wanted to talk. It was very important. Y/n had to admit, this was quite strange, as her father was never the one to bring up important issues. In front of him was placed an envelope, yellowed with the years.
The girl knew this envelope all too well. Every scratch, every little bump, she could almost feel them on the tip of her fingers. It was her mother’s letter. This time, when he pulled out the folded pages, a third paper came out. The missing part.
Big John didn’t say anything, only slid the pearl white sheet to the twins. And though no words came out of his mouth, a million could be seen in his gaze. He wore an unfamiliar expression on his face. It was mix of sadness, fear and regrets. It was the expression of a man who only wanted to protect his children from being hurt.
The missing paper read as so:
“This is my dream, John.
And I know you might think there’s a way for us to fix this, but there isn’t. This time you can’t fix it.
When I got pregnant with the kids, I was so scared. And when I told you, I saw this glimmer in your eyes. This flame suddenly being lit inside of you. You were so excited to have your first child and it was twins! You seemed so happy. It was beautiful.
Then I thought that maybe we could do this, maybe I could be a mother. I had you, so everything would be fine. My friends kept talking about this amazing connection that felt with their babies when they were carrying them. But I never felt it with the twins.
And I thought that maybe once I held them in my arms I would finally feel it. That motherly connection. It never came. And I tried, John. I tried so hard. But I just can’t.
I do love them, I love them so much, but not the way you do. Not the way a parent loves their child It can’t do it, I’m sorry. I wasn’t meant to be a mother. Life is cruel that way sometimes.
If there’s one thing I’m certain of, it’s that you were meant for this. I can see it in the way you look at them. You can do this, John. I know.
Be the parent I will never be able to be.”
Y/n’s curious eyes scanned the paper excitedly. Her face showed a variety of emotions in the span of a few minutes. First, excitement and joy, then, confusion and finally, anger. The tip of her ears burned red, her hand shaking beneath the table.
John B. placed the paper on the table, a loud sigh escaping his lips. Though, compared to his sister, he seemed relatively calm.
Y/n couldn’t contain it anymore. She stormed out of the house, her feet shoeless and her shoulders bare. She had no idea where she was going, but she ran.
It didn’t matter. As long as she was going somewhere. As long as she was moving and running, then she wouldn’t have to think. And if she was thinking, then her mind would take her to a bad place. She didn’t want to go there. So she ran.
The Routledges were never reputed to be angry people, much less violent. They were generally very calm, maybe a bit arrogant, but always composed. Of course, when a Routledge was after something, they would do anything in order to obtain it.
But y/n was one of the exception. She was the first Routledge woman in nearly 150 years. For generations, every Routledge man had sons, who had sons, who had sons until her father. He had a son and a daughter.
She wasn’t an angry person or mean in any way. On the contrary, she was kind and gentle. But compared to her brother and her dad, she felt emotions deeply.
And maybe it was her mother’s side and not the Routledge in her. It was so intense, sometimes. Almost blinding, at some moments. It was like the emotions took over her. It didn’t happen very often but it felt like she didn’t control her body anymore.
When she finally came back to her senses, y/n was standing on an empty beach. She hadn’t realized how far she’d gotten until she felt the warm sand under her feet. A cold breeze wrapped itself around her shoulders. She was so far from home. And so alone.
She walked to the ocean, letting her toes dip gently into the water. The water was cold but calming. Her anger slowly disappeared with each breath she took, until finally she could see everything clearly again.
Y/n turned away. She thought of going back home, when a wave of emotions hit her. She fell to the ground. It was like the air had been sucked out of her lungs.
Her chest burned, she felt like she had swallowed fire. Her shoulders shook and loud sobs escaped her lips. She dug her hands into the sand, trying to ground herself. It didn’t stop her tears from crashing onto her shirt.
A shadow appeared in front of her and she recognized its shape in a matter of seconds. It could only be one person.
“Are you hear to laugh at me?” She said through tears.
“No, not this time,” said John B. He sat down beside her, his eyes looking into hers. “Oh, y/n.” He wiped the tears off of her face
“I’m sorry,” she sniffled. “It’s just that, that,” he placed his arm around her shoulder, she took a deep breath. “Part of me always thought that she would come back.”
“That she’d come stay with us and finally be our mom. But she’s never coming back, ever,” her tone was almost accusing. “I lost so much time making up scenarios for her and she doesn’t even love us.”
“You know that’s not true,” reasoned John.
“Yeah, but it feels like it.”
“We don’t need her anyway,” stated the boy. “We’ve got dad, surfing, plenty of fish and well, each other. It’s not that bad is it?”
“No, you’re right.” She looked at him. “I just feel like I’m missing out on something. Like I’m,” she paused, looking for the right word, “incomplete.”
“I get it. If the roles were reversed and dad wasn’t there, I guess I would feel that way too,” confided her brother. “But don’t give her this much power. She doesn’t get to make you feel this way. You’re whole on your own, y/n/n.”
“Thank you, bird.” She slid her arm around his shoulder, letting her head rest on top of it. “You know, you can be an amazing brother sometimes.”
“Sometimes?”
“Yeah, sometimes.”
“Hey, bird?” “Yeah?”
“How did you find me, anyway?”
“You always come here when you wanna be dramatic.”
“I do not!”
“You so do!”
And slowly, the imaginary memories fell apart and disappeared. Y/n didn’t need them anymore. She’d be better in the real world.

🛑Growing Up Biracial🛑 Growing up, I was taught to be unapologetically proud to be biracial. However, that can be difficult to do when adults and peers alike constantly questioning you. Yes, even in the early 2000s, people were still acting like being biracial was a crime. As a child, I was often bullied to feel insecure about everything, from my hair to who I was. I remember kids telling me that I could not be black since my skin was white. At the same time, I could not hang out with the Italian kids because I didn’t know how to speak Italian. Whenever my mom went to my school, they would give me a hard time not walking out with strangers. Despite seeing her so often, teachers and students still wouldn’t accept that I had a black mom. I don’t think my mom noticed, or she didn’t care because she knew their words meant nothing. But, at the time, it meant something to me. #truestories #biracial #mixed #growingup https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck1qi-HNox1/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Hi, can i request a Sebastian x reader fic where reader has a kid (like 2 or 3) and Seb & reader start dating and they're together for a couple years. Then for whatever reason, they break up but her kid (whos a little older now & obviously got attached to him) is always asking for Seb. And maybe they bump into Sebastian somewhere and you can choose where to go from there?
So sorry for taking so long with this! Hope you like it!
--
Daddy of Mine
You are walking with your 5 year old son, Nathan toward the park. It was the first warmish day of the year, and you promised to take him to play. You have been avoiding this area of the city for awhile because of your ex Sebastian. You haven’t seen him in 6 months, and the pain of that break up is still fresh in your mind and heart, thanks to your son who fell in love with him.
You met Sebastian a little more than 3 years ago. You were shopping for your weekly groceries, exhausted. Ever since your boyfriend, Nathan’s father, walked out on you and your baby boy, you had to do everything yourself. You were thankful for friends to babysit him while you did errands. You loved your son more than anything, but 2 year olds were exhausting.
You pushed your cart into another aisle and suddenly smashed into another cart. You cover your face with your hands in embarrassment, as you kept saying, “I’m so sorry! I’m so sorry.” You hear a chuckle and look to see beautiful blue eyes staring at you. You blush even more in embarrassment. You both chatted for a bit, exchanged numbers, and finally went on a date.
It took a few weeks before you told Sebastian about your son. He was awesome about it, and was even more amazing when he met him. You knew then that he was keeper. You both had an amazing relationship, and Seb and Nate were quite the pair. Nate never cared about his real father, because Seb was the perfect father figure for him.
Everything went to hell about 7 months ago when Seb, again, had to cancel plans with you and Nate because of work. You understood, and Nate tried, but Sebastian felt guilty. He didn’t want to disappoint you both, and it had been happening a lot. He came home from filming, sat you down, and broke your heart into a million pieces. He felt that ending it now would save you, but it did the opposite.
While you were trying to deal with him leaving you, Nate was having a harder time. He cried for Sebastian constantly, wanting to know where he went and why he wasn’t around anymore. I mean Seb was there for most of his life, and now he was just gone. Over the last 6 months, Nate has not asked for Seb as much, but he still asks where he is and if he could call him. Something that still killed you.
You held Nate’s hand as you walked down the city street toward the park, silently praying that the man you are currently thinking about doesn’t make an appearance. But like saying Beetleguise 3 times, you see through the crowd, Sebastian standing on the other side of the intersection.
You can tell he doesn’t notice you at first, and you pray Nate is not paying attention so you can cross the other street and avoid him, but you lock eyes with him. Blue eyes staring into Y/E/C, holding you to your spot. When the crowd starts moving you cautiously step toward Seb, hoping he will just walk the other way and ignore you. Of course luck is not on your side as you see him wait for you on the other side. Nate suddenly sees him and pulls you.
“Sebastian! Mom it’s Sebastian!” he screams, pulling you. Once you get on the sidewalk, you let go and watch your son run toward Seb, who squatted down and scooped him up into a hug. You can’t help the tears that come to your eyes as you see how happy both boys are. You stand back to let them have their moment. You see Seb saying something to Nate, who nods while still holding Seb tightly.
After a few moments, Seb turns his eyes to you and walks over, still holding your son. Nate refuses to lighten his hold on Seb, which breaks your heart. Seb keeps holding him and rubbing his back, “Hey Y/N,” he says to you.
“Sebastian,” you respond, trying to stay calm.
He gives you a small smile, “How have you guys been?” he asks as he continues to rub your sons back.
“Oh ya know, same stuff, different day. Though Nate has obviously missed you,” you say, trying to sound indifferent.
Seb laughs and kisses Nate’s head, who finally lifts off his shoulder. Seb looks at him, “You missed me pal?” Seb asked him.
Nate nodded his head quickly, “I asked about you everyday! Right mom?”
You looked at Seb with a mix of sadness and anger, “Yes you did,” you said  and cleared your throat. You looked at your son, “Come on Nate. We have to go,” you say.
Nate whines, “Can’t Seb come with us? I want to hang out with him,” he says.
“I’m sure Sebastian has more important things to do and people to see than hang with us,” you say reaching for your son, who wraps his arms tighter around Seb.
You sigh as Seb chuckles, “I’m free. I would love to hang with my little guy,” Seb says petting the back of Nate’s head.
You look at Seb now with full blow anger, “He isn’t yours. Now please just put him down so we can leave,” you snap.
Seb looks at you for a moment before kissing Nate’s head again and squatting down to put Nate on the ground. He pulls your son back and looks at him, “I’m sorry bud. This is my fault. But you listen to your mom and be a good boy ok? I promise I will fix this and see you soon,” he says before standing up.
“Do you think we could talk?” he asks you.
You rub your forehead to hide the tears starting to come, “I don’t know. I--” you suddenly feel your throat close as you choke on a sob.
Seb steps forward and wraps his arms around you, whispering in your ear, “I’m so sorry I hurt you baby. I’ve missed you so much. Both of you. I’m so sorry,” he says.
Along with Sebastian you feel your son hugging you both. You are sure people are staring at you, but you don’t care. You finally are back in his arms with your son. You finally feel whole again. Your family. You pull away from Seb and see the regret and sadness written on his face. He wipes the tears away from your cheeks and presses a kiss to your forehead. While you are still angry, you love him. You miss him, and most of all, your son misses him.
“Uh,” you sniff, “We were heading toward the park, if you would like to come,” you say to Sebastian.
He smiles and tucks a stray of hair behind your ear before picking Nate back up, “Let’s go,” he says grabbing your hand.
You walk toward the park as Nate giggles, “I finally got my daddy back!” he says.
Seb snaps his eyes to you. “He kept asking where his dad was. I thought he meant you-know-who, but it’s you. He considers you his dad,” you say.
Seb stops and puts Nate down, but holds onto him. You see tears in his eyes, “I would love nothing more than to be your dad Nate. If your mom will let me,” he says.
Nate looks at you hopefully. You smile at your son, “Of course. It’s Nate’s choice, not mine,” you say.
Nate cheered as Seb picks him up in a crushing hug before grabbing your hand and walking toward the park again. While you don’t know what the future holds for you and Sebastian, and as much as it would hurt if you both don’t get back together, you know that you will never keep Nate away from Sebastian.
You will never keep him away from his Dad.
--
Hope the wait was worth it! I honestly think the reader and Seb will get back together, but I like to leave it open ended... Feedback is appreciated!

Maybe pregnant hcs for Todoroki, Iida, Shinsou and Amajiki???💓💓💓💓💓
-Ohoho!!!! This right here just melts my hurt. Even thinking about it makes me weak.Plus a little heads up, everyone is having daughters cause I’m weak to the knees with the thought of these four and their babygirls so be prepared. Hope I don’t disappoint.💖💖💖
*All characters are aged up so around the ages of 20-25 and up*
Todoroki Shouto
-You and Shouto have been together since your second year in UA.
-You got married when you both got well acquainted with the hero life and now live a happy , yet busy, life in an apartment near his mom’s house.
-We know that this boy would want his family to be close to him and the fact that you get along with everyone fills his heart with so much love.
-You two never really talked about children.
-Maybe a few suggestions of having a child in the future but nothing serious.
-Que the morning sickness.
-Shouto was really worried about you, I mean look at you.
-You’re emptying your guts in the toilet every single morning.
-You can’t eat most foods that you used to like and have a weird craving for tuna yogurt?!
-He doesn’t want to leave the house, he even convinced you to take some days off and try to relax.
-Give your body rest.
-He promised to get some days off himself to take care of you.
-You had your suspicions, tbh.
-You just didn’t tell him.
-Whether that was to not get his hopes up or to post pone the heartbreak you didn’t really know.
-So what if you were mildly panicking over the fact that the 5 pregnancy tests you just took were all positive.
-It was the first day of your mini ‘vacation’ and thankfully Shouto had been called in today.
-Because you’re panicking and legit losing your shit over this, you call....Rei.
-Okay maybe it wasn’t the best course of action considering you were on the verge of cardiac arrest, but what can you do.
-You asked her if she was home and if you could stop by.
-Of course she said yes, delighted to see you and mentioned that Fuyumi was also going to stop by in around an hour.
-You made your way to her house, arriving just as Fuyumi was pulling into the drive way.
-After greeting each other and going inside, you took your seats in the living room and waited for Rei to make some tea.
-Fuyumi was going on and on about what the kids at the kindergarten were doing and how cute some of them were being.
-Neither of the Todoroki women had missed your puffy eyes or how your smile would constantly waver, but they decided to let you tell them on your own accord.
-Once Rei joined you in the living room, they both turned to you.
- “So how have you been Y/n, dear?” Rei said watching you really closely.
-You looked down, feeling hot tears starting to form in your eyes and your throat tightening painfully.
-Fuyumi moved closer to you while Rei draped an arm around your shoulders which were shacking at the moment.
- “I-I’m p-pregnant.” it was barely a whisper, but they heard it alright.
-Mom mode activated 2x.
-They reassured you that everything was going to be fine and how lucky you are.
-They repeatedly said how excited Shouto will be and what of a push over of a dad he would become.
-After 4 long hours of baby talk, you returned home, collapsing on the sofa before passing out for a good 3 hour nap.
-When you woke up, Shouto was home and sitting next to you weaving his fingers absentmindedly through your hair.
- “Hey there sleepyhead.”
-How could his voice be so soft!?!?
-You buried your face into the blanket, which really confused him, I mean...what did he do?
- “We have a problem...” pause....awkward silence.... “I’m pregnant.”
-*Windows noises*
-After the mild stroke, he lifted you up so you were looking at him and just stared at you.
-Those seconds that he just looked at you felt like eternity.
-The torture ended however, when he lowered his head to your stomach and lifting your shirt, placed a small kiss right under your belly button.
- “Hey there, snowflake. Nice to meet you.”
-And with that, 9 exhausting months started full of mood swings, weird cravings, back rubs and a never ending list of baby names.
-You two learned you were having twins on your fifth appointment, but you decided to keep the gender a surprise.
-On a cold January night your two girls were brought into the world and it was one of the few times you had seen Endeavour and Natsuo in the same room bawling their eyes out.
-Your white haired baby was named Rei *after her grandmother* while your mixed red and h/c babygirl Ren.
-When Shouto held them for the first time, you thought he was going to have a mental breakdown.
-He’s a total push over and your girls are daddy’s girls to the core.
-He’s the best dad they could ask for.
Iida Tenya
-You and Tenya have been married for 6 years now and have been trying endlessly for a baby.
-You both agreed that you were ready for the responsibility and that having a little Tenya running around the house sounded like a great idea.
-Saying that you were exhausted form the attempts was an understatement.
-Tenya had incredible stamina and even more libido, so you can safely assume that during the week long process of baby making you couldn’t walk straight.
-However, your little shenanigans stopped when your doctor delivered you the news.
-You had been hit by a blood related quirk while dealing with a villain and had to get a check up afterwards.
-You were given a scolding the moment you saw your doctor because why aren’t you in desk duty you RASCAL!?
-You were confused beyond belief and it was written all over your face.
- “You don’t know do you?”
-Le sigh.
- “Mrs. Iida I’m happy to announce you that you’re expecting, so that means you are to be put in desk duty for the next 4 months or else I’m making sure you don’t leave the house for a good 9 months.”
-You. Were. Ecstatic.
-You ran to Tenya’s agency, bringing down the damned door to his office giving the man a heart attack.
- “Y/n what’s-”
- “I’M PREGNANT!”
-Que ecstatic air chopping.
-Tenya went into full dad mode during those 9 months.
-Buttt he’s also kinda nervous.
-Nervous like Tamaki in a crowd level nervous.
-You get the image.
-You have anything you want whenever you want it.
-The nursery is done the moment you find out you are having a gilr.
-Unlike Todoroki he isn’t patient enough to keep the gender a secret.
-When the day arrives, you’re just chilling outside with him when you nonchalantly blurt out ‘my waters broke.
-....oh...oH.....OHSHIIIIIIIT.
- “WHY ARE YOU SO CALM?! GET UP! ARE YOU IN PAIN? CAN YOU WALK!?”
-This goes on until you are screaming and crushing his hand in the delivery room.
-Your little girl is born and she’s a carbon copy of Tenya.
-Same colored hair and eyes.
-The face structure looks like you.
-She has your nose and mouth, along with your eyebrows but apart from that she’s a mini genderbend Tenya.
-Because she was born early in the morning you decided to change her name and so little Asami Tenya was officially a part of this world.
-Tenya cried.
-You cried.
-Asami cried.
-You were one happy crying family.
Shinsou Hitoshi
-You and Hitoshi have been together for two years now, but you haven’t put a ring on it.
-Sure you live together and act like a married couple already but you’re not Mrs.Shinsou.....yet.
-You have been feeling strange for days now and your period was late which never happens.
-You are panicking but unlike Shouto you two aren’t married.
-He can leave with almost no complications.
-You were his girlfriend not his wife.
-The pregnancy tests you had taken were mocking you from the bathroom sink and your poor hormone ridden mind couldn’t handle the stress.
-You cried a river until you heard keys jiggling and HItoshi’s iconic ‘Kitten, I’m home!’
-You couldn’t face him like this.
-In a haste you shoved the tests into the laundry basket along with their packages and covered them with some sheets.
-Fixing your hair and washing your face, you straightened and walked out the door.
-After greeting Hitoshi with a kiss you calmly told him to go get ready while you made him something to eat.
-Your mind was running laps thinking how you could tell him or how you could solve your little problem as quietly as possible.
-That is until he walked in holding what seemed to be a box.
-A pregnancy test box.
-HOW CAN YOU BE BLIND?
- “Y/n, what’s this?”pause “Are you..?”
-Anddd more crying.
-You sobbed about how sorry you were and how you couldn’t explain how it happened.
-Both of you were so careful, how did this happen???
-After a good 15 minutes of you bawling your eyes out on the kitchen floor while Hitoshi was trying to calm you down, you finally stopped at the sound of his chuckle.
- “Well, damn kitten, your surprise definitely beat mine.”
-Then he pulled a small velvet box from his pocket and watched you closely.
-Now you are Mrs.Shinsou.
-These 9 months weren’t as bad as you would expect.
-Hitoshi was really good at giving you everything you wanted and during the whole pregnancy you didn’t lift a finger.
-One October night your waters broke and you found yourself in a long procedure of bringing your child into the world.
-Hitoshi was a wreck and had called Aizawa for emotional support who called Hizashi who called Midnight.
-Once you were finished, Hitoshi rushed into your room and found you utterly exhausted.
-He was the first to hold your baby and you have never seen him cry this much in your life.
- “Hello my little Kei.”
-Kei Shinsou was a happy little girl with an amazing father by her side.
Amajiki Tamaki
-Ah love.
-Something Tamaki found during high school and held onto it ever since.
-Now a well known pro hero, Suneater was more than happy with his life with you.
-He always wanted a little something more but never expressed it.
-He loved the idea of having a mini you running around the living room or waking him up in the morning with little squeals and kisses.
-He loved you to the moon and back, more than life itself but having a kid with you sparked a whole new sensation in him.
-So he tried to be sly about it.
-Forgetting the condoms or to pull out.
-You not being able to find your pills.
-A whole lot of fun.
-You were newly weds and your libidos were high af and with the prospect of children on the table Tamaki became 10x more driven and horny.
-So you weren’t all that surprised when your doctor gave you the news.
-You had gone for a plain old check up when he came into the room with a bright smile on his face and congratulations falling like a waterfall from his mouth.
-Once back home you put your plan in motion.
-You had a feeling Tamaki was trying to knock you up for some time now.
-He couldn’t forget to pull out every time like come on.
-But you were fine with it since you too wanted a kid with him.
-You just would’ve liked a little heads up first.
-You made your little bun and put it in the oven.
-And waited.
-And waited.
-And waited.
-Until finally Tamaki walked through the door,  a smile gracing his features as he made his way to you.
- “Hey bunny.”
-Giving him a quick peck you told him to check the oven real quick to make sure the food was all good.
-He obliged, walking to the kitchen and seeing the sole bun sitting in the oven.
-He was beyond confused on why you would only make one bun in the oven and not more, I mean you are two peop- ohhhh.
-OH.
-He did it.
-He let the news settle in before going back to you.
- “Are you sure?” nod “100% sure?” another nod.
-At that he fell to his knees in front of you, attacking your stomach with kisses and I love yous.
-To whom they were directed you couldn’t actually tell but you were happy either way.
-Calls the baby butterfly.

🏳️‍🌈 go feral with your kh babes
THANK YOU FOR ENABLING ME ANON you said go feral and I fucking did. I have. many headcanons and many are important to me and 99% of this is khux,
Hyperfix ask meme: do you have any headcanons (lgbt, race, neuro, etc) that are important to you?
Xemnas is a mlm trans man and literally has so much mental illness. like nomura made the perfect ND character and I love him so much. He has so so much dissociation all the time.
Vanitas is a nonbinary icon you look at him and tell me he knows what a gender is. Also mental illness hours with him too that’s a given-
Ira is genderfluid (he/they/she) and gay!!!! Also obligatory him and Invi are twins moment- they are both Korean. He also has killer makeup and is very pretty. I hc that he has a lot of anxiety and has trouble making eye contact with people (that’s why I draw him with hair covering his face bc he doesn’t like people looking at him-) He doesn’t talk a lot, he only talks when he thinks it’s necessary! He internalizes a lot of things and isn’t vocal about his own feelings; he will always put others before himself.
Invi’s sexuality is lesbian and it’s also her gender. Unlike Ira, she’s very loud and has no problem being blunt. She can and will fight you and I love that for her :) Honestly she’s a very black/white person.
Aced is literally a bear like idk what you want. I hc him as black! He HAS to think out loud and say everything that’s on his mind. He has!!! Very big emotions too!!! In back cover he cries like twice and I’m like oh my god man please catch your breath. After the war I think he would have a lot of self esteem issues with how he acted and would rather distance himself from the others bc in his eyes he’s caused enough trouble already and can’t see the others forgiving him.
Gula is a trans man and bi and we love that for him. I hc him as white and Mexican! I think it’s a somewhat common hc that he’s a street kid and I think he already had a lot of trust issues going into his apprenticeship and obviously MoM made them. so so much worse. He tries to seem really aloof and mysterious and his resting bitch face helps but also he’s very anxious all the time and needs approval from everyone constantly he’s really bad at actually hiding anything. Like the way he runs to Invi about everything? The way he willingly tells Player and Skuld EVERYTHING despite the fact HE REALLY SHOULDN’T??? He’s very smart but like. His need for approval from others is his downfall. After the war I think he literally won’t trust anyone except for Ava like if his duty wasn’t keeping him there I’m sure he would ditch everyone.
Ava is agender!!! They/she :) no gender here!!!! I actually have a few headcanons for how they look bc I really like playing around with their illusion powers and them changing their appearance. I think the athlete Laurie Hernandez and Ava’s voice actress (Isabela Merced) are really good facecanons for them! I think Ava also has trust issues but they’re a lot more lowkey than Gula’s and are really only a result of the events of khux. I think they have a really strong sense of justice and self preservation where the other foretellers are more likely to think and feel as MoM tells them to. I also hc that Ava is lowkey like. such a girlboss and will do absolutely anything to get what they want. I think they have mixed feelings on the others and MoM but ultimately feels like they HAVE to oblige to whatever MoM has planned for them and their siblings.
Luxu is a nonbinary trans man (he/they) and pan! You look at post kh3 Luxu and tell me that man cares about gender. I hc him as being black and indian! khux Luxu I hc as having no filter and he will just talk and talk and TALK for so long and none of it will honestly make sense. This is a headcanon I stole from others but Luxu is chronically late to everything and the foretellers run on Luxu Standard Time.
Luxu part 2 I have a lot to say: anyway he’s a very genuine and trusting person and his role was really difficult at first bc he had to learn how to hold all his thoughts inside and be more serious. Over time I think he would go through many cycles of terrible emotions over himself, the others, and MoM. I think he’s extremely loyal to MoM to a fault and no matter what he does or what he thinks nothing can shake that loyalty even if he mourns the person he once was. He’s had to throw away his whole identity and all his own dreams/goals (if he ever had any) so he could help mom. He’s struggled a lot with his identity and personhood over the years and by the time of kh3 I think he would not even view himself as a person but more of a tool for MoM. I am a big MoM hater so I like to think deep down he would resent MoM for making him carry out a role for so long by himself but at the end of the day there’s nothing he can do about it and he’s going to see this through to the end.
Skuld is a trans girl!!!! And she is SO TALL!!! I know a lot of very tall gorgeous trans girls so I just look at Skuld and I Know. I think she’s a very social person but has a lot of self esteem issues that makes it hard for her to make friends. I like seeing her when she meets Player vs her at the end of khux bc I feel like she’s grown a lot and I love seeing her with friends!!!!
Ephemera is genderfluid, any pronouns, we love to see it. I like to actually think Eph is. not that great of a person (at first). Like very driven but is only looking for their own goals yknow but gets closer to people thru Player, Skuld and the other dandelions. I think a lot about post khux Eph struggling with some self image issues bc of what happened to the Player and I Want to hug Eph. so badly.
I have such a soft spot for trans man Strelitzia!!!! I like it when Him :))) just Strelitzia looking the exact same very pretty and cute but also rocking the he/him pronouns. I love weird girl Strelitzia so sooooo much like once he gets past his horrible social anxiety he’s going to make you a necklace made of bones. Where did they come from? idk. don’t worry about it
Lauriam is a mlm trans man and doesn’t bind we love to see it
Blaine is just like. mlm nonbinary virusgender icon, he/they/it pronouns or whatever pronouns are most confusing at the moment because it’s funny. Idk what it is about him that makes him like, such an easy character to project mental illness onto but like oh my god. A lot of it is very personal to me so like, I won’t say everything,, but a big one is trust issues that he works thru with the others (oh my god I cry about blaine when he was first introduced vs the end of khux HE CARES ABOUT EVERYONE SOOOO MUCH) also he does not like being perceived stop looking at him right now-
You look at Ventus and tell me he knows what a gender is. He doesn’t. what’s a pronoun. just straight vibing
Elrena is so lesbian and so not cis idk they’re just out here. Elrena hates everyone but would like to hold hands with Strelitzia very much
This last one is soooooo so niche but like. Holding the former captain of the sewer squad and the new captain. they are in lesbians.

under the mistletoe, watching the fire glow day 17: santa suits
Character A dresses up as Santa Claus for Character B,, percabeth
Percy cannot believe that he’s actually been talked into this. As he looks himself in the mirror, his face is as red as the velvet suit he has on. The white beard that’s glued onto his chin makes him feel incredibly old and ridiculous.
It doesn’t help that his wife laughing her ass off next to him.
“Stop it,” he whines, turning to face her.
Annabeth is standing next to him, her arms wrapped around their baby. She’s wearing a coat, and the infant in her arms is covered in a few layers of blankets to fight the wind swirling around the park. “You look miserable,” she tells him.
“Yeah, well, I’m dressed as Santa Claus for my mom’s dumb Christmas party. Consider me miserable.”
“You volunteered for this.”
“No,” he blames childishly. “You volunteered me for this. This was not done willingly.”
“I thought you would say yes,” she defends, still snickering.
“We’ve been married for four years and you thought I would happily put on a Santa suit and spray paint my hair white? Did you really think that, wife?”
“I mean, no, but your mom asked me, and I couldn’t say no.”
Percy glares at her. “It wasn’t you that had to dress up.”
Annabeth just gives him a sweet smile, and he has trouble staying mad at her. He wasn’t even really mad at her to begin with, he supposes. He’s just giving her a hard time, but as embarrassed as he was right now, he still finds it endearing the way she laughs at him. He doesn’t mind mortification too much if it stems from her. He just likes making her happy.
“I hate you,” he mutters, but he yanks her closer by the waist. “Now you owe Santa Claus a kiss.”
Annabeth adjusts the weight of their daughter on her hip so she can press her palm over his mouth. “Do you want to scar these children, Percy? They can’t see Santa Claus kissing someone other than Mrs. Claus or else they’ll lose all hope in the magic of Christmas.”
Percy frowns. “But you’re my Mrs. Claus!”
She laughs and passes him the baby. “Please never call me Mrs. Claus again. I don’t want to have grey hair just yet.”
He rolls his eyes fondly, struggling with the infant. She’s squirming in his arms and beginning to hold her arms back out for Annabeth, soft cries starting up. “Look what you’ve done, Annabeth. My own child is scared of me.”
“Have a little Christmas spirit, Percy. It’s the attitude she’s afraid of.”
“I don’t have attitude,” he says, clearly with attitude. “You’re just an ass.”
She stands on her tiptoes, kissing him on the cheek. “I know. You love me anyways.”
“Unfortunately.”
She steals the baby back from his arms, and just before she’s about to drift away from him, leaving him to interact with children that are abnormally sticky, she whispers, “Tonight,” sounding an awful lot like a promise. “You just have to decide — are you going to be naughty or nice?”
She stalks off with a teasing grin, and the unsaid promise leaves him with enough motivation to make it through the party.
His mom comes up at some point to take pictures of him, and he knows that he’s going to burn those. It turns out that children really are sticky. Their hands are everywhere, and they seem to always be covered in frosting or other unidentifiable substances when they come up to him. He has to restrain from flinching when they try to tug at the beard that’s attached with adhesive to his face. The second he gets home, this beard going in the bonfire right alongside the pictures.
“Are you okay, sweetheart?” his mom asks between children.
“They’re so sticky,” he says, strangled.
“They’re kids. Of course they’re sticky. Your baby is sticky too.”
Percy looks at her, offended.
His child is not sticky, and his wife is going to hear all about this later. The audacity of his own mother to insinuate his child is sticky. Sophia would never.
“My baby isn’t sticky,” he grumbles, sneering at his mom’s amused look. “You’re sticky.”
Night begins to roll around after what feels like days of endless stretching. Percy is exhausted and somehow sweating in the middle of a New York winter. He desperately wants to take a shower and scrub off the diseases he’s certain at least one of those kids were carrying.
“It was that bad, babe,” Percy says from in the bathroom. He has a toothbrush in his mouth, and he’s yelling at her as she lays in bed. “I swear one of them peed on me.”
He can hear the quiet chuckle come from the bedroom, but he gets no further response. He doesn’t think she understands the severity of the situation. He may get sick and be unable to leave bed because a child touched him. He feels like a petri dish.
“Children touched me, Annabeth! Aren’t you concerned?”
“I’d be concerned if a child didn’t touch you, considering you have one yourself. Shouldn’t you be used to tiny, grimy hands by now?”
“It’s one thing when it’s my own baby, but I do not want to ever touch another child again.” Percy finishes brushing his teeth, and he turns back to the bedroom. “A shower has never felt so good before.”
“Quit it with the dramatics,” she says. Percy walks through the door to their bedroom and he sees her sitting on the bed, facing him head on. The sight he’s met with has him bursting out in laughter.
“What are you doing?” he manages to choke out, going up to her and plucking the Santa hat off of her head. “You said I’m your Mrs. Claus,” she explains, snatching the hat back but refraining from putting it back on.
He knows for a fact that she did not have this a week ago because they’re constantly together, so he couldn’t possibly know where she got this outfit from. It’s a short velvet dress, white fuzz along the rims, and buttons down the front of the red fabric. It’s tight too, and he’d never admit it, but it does get him just a teeny bit hot and bothered.
“You like it?” she asks, but he can see in her eyes that she already knows the answer. His fingers snap the elastic strap on her shoulder.
“I love it. Getting dressed up for little me?” “I did tell you that you’d have to decide between naughty or nice,” she says. “Have you made your decision yet?”
“I’m not sure.” Percy steps back to take her all in, to delight in the curves that are prominent. Her smooth legs stand out, and her hair is ruffled from the hat. He desperately wants to see just how much messier her hair can get. “I’ve always been nice, don’t you think?”
“I don’t think there’s any harm in mixing it up,” she agrees.
Percy’s fingers find her shoulder, just barely brushing the skin. He can see the goosebumps trail down her arms. “But I also think you’ve been pretty naughty, wouldn’t you say? Forcing me to dress as Santa Claus and then doing this?”
Annabeth cracks a grin, unable to take him seriously, and Percy quickly follows. He drops onto the bed next to her, his arms wrapping around her. He digs his face into her neck as laughs take over his body.
“Please never call me naughty,” she says, giggling. “It doesn’t sound good coming from your mouth.”
“Then maybe don’t ambush me at midnight after I’ve been attacked by tiny humans all day! I really don’t know what you expected.”
Annabeth rolls her eyes playfully and kicks him lightly. “You love the kids, even if you don’t want to admit it.”
“I love our kids,” he corrects.
“Kid. Singular.”
He pouts. “Why not two?”
“Because our first is barely even one,” she teases.
“I want a million babies with you.”
“Calm down there, Santa Claus. You need to finish working Christmas first.”
Percy kisses her sweetly. When he pulls away, he relishes the blush spreading across her cheeks and the way her hair spreads out across the bed like a golden halo. “That’s what I want for Christmas next year then.”
“A million babies?”
“Maybe just two.”
Annabeth throws her head back and laughs, and now he’s kind of glad that he was wrestled into this Santa Claus suit. “I love you.”
Percy kisses her again, and he says against her, “I love you too, naughty Mrs. Claus.”

( tw ; infidelity , death , drunk driving )
𝐈𝐈 .  𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝  :
from the second she was born , georgia was treated as her mother’s little doll. diane had been ecstatic the day she found out she was with child for the second time , and even more ecstatic to find out she would be having their first little girl. she was dressed up in pink dresses and frilly socks , shown off to all of the women country or her mother’s weekly book club nights. she was the apple of her parent’s eyes , until she wasn’t. with brunette tresses  &  honey brown eyes , georgia was adored by everyone .... her beauty noted with claims that she would grow up to be a heartbreaker. her mother thrived on the compliments ; the subtle reminders to what her own childhood had been like. she had always planned on having a little girl that she could do pageants with just like she had with her own mother , and darling little georgia was perfect for that. at such a young age , georgia fell in love with the pageants. she thrived in the spotlight , with all eyes on her. and just like her mother , she won every competion she was entered in , until she didn’t. by the age of nine , georgia was starting to grow bored of the constant pageants and recitals , wanting to explore other interests. by that point , diane’s interest in her had worn off and moved onto the next child , a five year old with beautiful blonde curls and dimpled cheeks. georgia grew to know the subtle ache of rejection , and from that day forward , did everything she could to win back her mother’s affection.
from the outside , the calloway’s came off as the picture perfect family. but from the inside ? things were quite the opposite. georgia’s parents had unmeetable expectations for their children. get perfect grades , nothing below a b acceptable. sit down , look pretty , and shut up. don’t cause a scandal. their love was entirely conditional , only being shown when their was something they believed deserved rewarding. if you were to ask georgia , she wouldn’t be able to tell you the last time her mother actually hugged her for genuine reasons , and not to manipulate her into doing what she wanted. their father was rarely home , always away working or traveling for work. it became obvious that he was having an affair –– multiple affairs , but diane just looked the other way. the calloway family was very prominent in charleston , especially with her father being elected mayor , and their was nothing that diane would allow to ruin their image. even if it cost her own happiness.
things got considerably more difficult around the calloway home when georgia was sixteen. her eldest brother had gone out for a night of fun with a group of friends , and made the fatal mistake of getting into a car with someone who was far too drunk to drive. georgia will never forget the conversation she overheard from the living room that night ; “ they were drunk. lost control of the vehicle. died on impact. ” it tore the family apart , dividing them even more than they already were. georgia couldn’t stand the silence of her home after her brother’s death. so she started partying constantly , going on 48 hour benders and staying out long past her curfew. she couldn’t even recognize herself in the mirror. gone was their innocent little girl , the apple of their eyes. even this couldn’t get the attention of her parents , they barely even noticed she was gone most of the time ; all they did was yell at her to not make them look like fools.
for her whole life , georgia followed her parent’s rules. after graduating high school , she was expected required to go college and get a degree , but georgia just couldn’t be bothered. this is the one time she went against her parent’s wishes. her fear of being stuck here forever , with the same life as her parents ; a husband that doesn’t love her and miserable children , won out over the need for approval from her parents. so she ran off to la , and landed herself on love island usa after being approached by a producer. georgia is reality tv gold , and quickly became a fan favorite. her most memorable moment being after she got her heart broken on live tv , when she purposely held up a lighter to set off fire alarms ; and then laid on the ground getting drenched by the sprinklers. so now she’s single again after being made a fool of in front of the world , back home with parents that hate her for bringing them unwanted attention , and stuck in the city she tried to get away from. but , she’s got a podcast. it’s called the bimbo summit and it’s pretty much the only thing bringing her joy right now. it started as a way for her to expose some behind the scenes shit from love island , but now it’s just for fun.
𝐈𝐈𝐈 .  𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲  :
georgia is the girl that’s not easy to forget. she’s outgoing and amiable , but stubborn and not easy to push over. she was the one that moms would warn their kids to stay away from in high school ; she leaves a trail of destruction wherever she goes , no matter how hard she tries not to. she has the purest of intentions , genuinely just wanting love  &  happiness for herself and everyone around her , but it seems like the universe has different plans.
she almost has this air of melancholy surrounding her ? like even when she’s happy and smiling , you can still sense it or see in her eyes that she’s not truly happy
very charismatic , she’s a major people pleaser so she’ll put everyone else’s feelings before her own . she just wants everyone to be happy even if it means she ends up being miserable .
georgia’s a selective oversharer . she’ll tell you all these useless little facts so you think she’s opening up when in reality you don’t truly know her because she refuses to talk about the things that matter .
she’s trusting once she gets to know someone , but if you break that trust even once she’s not very quick to forgive. she’ll hear you out , but it’s unlikely that she’ll ever let you back in.
she is completely unhinged. somehow picks the worst possible decision every time a problem arises. she’s not much of a logical thinker , and tends to let her heart make decisions for her. it’s gotten her into a world of trouble one too many times , and yet she’s never learnt her lesson.
she’s also a serial dater. in her pea brain attention = love so she’ll flock to wherever she gets that. she likes the validation of relationships but hates the commitment , so pretty much all of her relationships end before they ever really start.
don’t ever tell georgia she can’t do something. she’s a stubborn bitch and she’ll either do it immediately just to spite you or dedicate her entire life to proving you wrong and that’s not something anyone needs to deal with.
very opinionated and not afraid to make sure you know !! she will stand up for what she’s believes in without even a second of hesitation.
she would not be caught dead looking unpresentable .... she’ll do her hair and a full face of make up even if she’s waking up at 4am. and don’t even bother to ask her to go out after she’s done her skin care routine .... there’s no chance
doesn’t really know how to handle her emotions ? so when she’s hurt she tends to just .... shut down & push everyone away
she is a hardcore adrenaline junkie , she does so much stupid shit just for the thrill. making spontaneous and impulsive decisions is her favorite pass time.  she just holds a lot of emotion in , so anything that will release all of that or make her feel anything other than the things she’s avoiding are very much welcomed.

This is the last chapter! AHHHHH!
Hello, I asked how everyone would feel if I did a prequel to O&O. I got a lot of yes’ and screaming so I decided it was best to do it. I have been thinking about this ever since chapter 17 of Olive and Otto. So here it is! If you have any questions about characters just send me an ask and I will gladly answer! (Also I just get so happy when people want to talk to me)
Thank you to: @walking-crisis, @clearsuitcasecookienerd, @blingywitch, @waltzintherain, and @moonofthenight, @onlydreamofmysoul (If I missed anyone who answered my asks please let me know! I know some haven’t answered yet but I am hoping they will)
TW/CW: High school bullies, Coming out to homophobic family, Slurs, Mentions of eating disorders, Homophobic languages and attitudes, mentions of sex, and pregnancy, teen pregnancy, probably food and drink. Oh! And cigarettes and underage drinking.
Leo and his family belong to @lumosinlove
Chapter 9
Birth
July 2016
Indigo was laughing when it happened, she was on the phone with Parker just catching up on all the drama she’s missed over the past few weeks. She has been facetiming all of her new friends because she misses them and she wants to be updated on Lola’s arrest. Lola messed with someone a month ago and they decided to press charges for harassment and it worked! Everyone was stoked, even miles were coming out of his Lola cocoon a little bit.
“You should have seen her face!” Parker and her laugh when suddenly there was a bit of a wet feeling down south, now ever since month three indigo has peed a little when she laughs because that's just what happens, but this felt different. She brushed it off as her pregnancy symptoms not even realizing her due date is in a day.
However instead of it just being a small little leak that stops it just kept happening, a steady flow, was it barely noticeable, yes all until she sits down. She goes to take an afternoon bath because her back has been spasming all day. She takes off her clothes with a little bit of a struggle, she goes to step out of her underwear when a sharp pain stabs her in her lower back and pelvis.
Then she knows.
She goes back into the bedroom throwing on some clean shorts and a Leo shirt, she then carefully goes down the stairs to the kitchen where everyone else is. She gets to the doorway and when everyone looks up she suddenly gets nervous.
“Ummm… I think these two are ready to come out.” She mentally slaps her forehead with how dumb that sounded but the way Eloise calmly sets her mug of still hot tea in the sink and walks over to Indigo. She asks a bunch of questions that she no longer remembers as the panic of having to give birth sets in. Eloise sees this.
“Leo, would you be a sweetheart and go grab the bag I made you pack months ago please, Wyatt, will you call the hospital and let them know we are coming in. “ She takes indigo’s hand and gives it a comforting squeeze.
“I’m okay” She was being honest she hasn’t had another contraction yet but it made her all the more anxious for when they do show up.
They got to the hospital and were taken into a birthing room right away. Doctors and nurses were taking diagnostics on her and every once in a while Indigo would notice a furrow of a brow and a concerned look.
She would try to ignore it and put it down to the doctors and nurses getting anxious about helping someone give birth. But when a doctor pulls Eloise to the side to talk to her the feelings all come crashing down. The contractions are getting closer every hour and they are becoming almost unbearably painful. She was angry and in pain and squeezing the life out of Leo’s hand, and he would let her.
They had planned a c-section beforehand, the thought terrified Indigo but she knew with her body and having more than one baby this was going to happen. But what she wasn’t expecting was for it to become an emergency c-section!. Apparently the larger baby was facing the wrong direction and was making it so they needed to be removed as soon as possible. This means she has to be knocked out, and Leo can’t be in the room.
They were getting her ready to wheel her out of the room whe Indigo pulled Leo down the collar of his shirt and gave him one last kiss just in case she didn’t make it. They pull away and she relaxes a little into the bed as they take her away.
But that kiss fucked leo up for the rest of the day.
He would pace around the room, his heart pounding in his chest, his dad was taking pictures to make fun of him later with, while Eloise was equally nervous but not as obvious as Leo. Leo was going insane.
Running his hands through his hair tugging on his clothes sitting down for a couple minutes and tapping his foot before getting back up and pacing the room again. Asking if his parents need anything and they say no for the thousandth time.
When a nurse pokes her head into the room to give them an update Leo about cries in relief when they tell him that it is going smoothly so far. About an hour later a knock on the door catches their attention, when the door opens the same nurse comes in.
“Would you like to meet your son Mr. Knut.” They smile at Leo as she nods still in shock and follows the nurse to a room where babies are after being birthed in the operating room.
He was gorgeous. Small wispy tufts of hair were on his head, he had his mother skin and cheeks, his eyes weren’t open so Leo couldn’t tell what color they were. When he was handed his son she couldn’t help but let a few tears fall down his face. He notices his dad holding up the camera and gives a shaky smile.
As he was setting Otto back into his medical cot the door opened, in came a much smaller baby but still beautiful.
“Here is your daughter, they are fishing up with Indigo and running some tests before bringing her back to the room.” The Nurse nods to the other nurse before turning to leave the room.
Leo reaches out to pick up his little girl and realizes just how small she is compared to her brother, he hope she won’t have any problems later on. Snuggling her to his chest just soaking in her warmth and the feeling of having a child he sets her back into the cot as they wheel both out to do some medical stuff.
Hours go by, they take Otto to have a couple of extra tests run and Leo hasn’t stopped smiling. But the worry is still there. They are moved back into the room they were in originally to wait for Indigo to come back.
Time passes much fast once Leo is able to watch his kids through a window instead of just pacing around a white room. He notices that his son isn’t as wiggly as the other babies in the baby jail but he tries not to worry about it too much.
They made it.
He was called back into the room as Indigo started to wake up. They smile at each other and cry as they hold their kids. This is a journey that has changed their lives forever.
And they wouldn’t have it any other way.
Indigo meets Olive first. It’s love at first sight, her little head on Indigo’s chest while the exhausted new mother takes to Eloise about something random that Leo isn’t paying attention to. Olive has brown hair like her mom but the brightest eyes like him. They were a perfect mix.
Once the extra testing was done for Otto they brought him back into the room to eat and said everything looked fine. So, Leo stole Olive from Indigo as Otto was placed in her arms. Wyatt was constantly snapping photos and Eloise never looked so proud.
Their family was complete.

add yourself to my taglist here!
After meeting through some mutual friends you fell in love with each other. Chris swore he would have married you after your first date. A ring came about a year and a half later, Chris not wanting to call you anything but his wife for any longer. One dream wedding and a month-long honeymoon around the world, you were Mrs. Y/N Evans.
The conversation about kids came fairly early in the relationship. Him coming from a big family, he wanted the same for himself. He wanted a big house in the Massachusetts suburbs, the white picket fence, a couple of dogs, and the kids. He wanted to come home from work being attacked by a couple of kids and seeing you walking towards him barefoot and pregnant.
You were an only child to divorced parents, growing up mostly on your own. You never saw yourself as a mom, but always loved the idea of running after a couple of kids. Never wanting to bring a child into the kind of world you grew up in. The sad and lonely kind of world you endured most of your life. After meeting his family after a couple of months of dating and seeing the way he interacted with his nieces and nephews, you couldn’t help but hope to see yourself raising some kids with him.
He loved the idea of raising a family with you.
Grayson Christopher Evans
You brought your first child into the world not too long after your wedding.
You were in labor for about 16 hours before you were met with the screams of a baby boy.
Your baby boy.
He cried and cried until his skin met yours, calming him down almost instantly. Looking over at Chris who was at an absolute loss for words at the little person calming himself with the sound of your heartbeat. He looked at you for a while before looking back at his baby boy.
Chris couldn’t quite process the feelings he felt that night his son was born. He knew how much he loved you. You knew how much you loved him. But having this little person as a tangible expression of your love and commitment for each other was just beyond him. It was beyond anyone.
Grayson was just like his dad. Almost an exact copy of him if you were being honest. The same big blue eyes. The same soft brown hair. The same everything. Lisa often said how much Grayson was just like Chris was when he was a kid. There was little of you visible in him. Maybe he had the curve of your nose and the shape of your lips. But he was all Chris.
His little personality bubbling since day one. You couldn't have asked for a more perfect baby. He giggled as much as he could and played until he fell asleep with a toy in his hand. You were so lucky to have been gifted this little boy as your first baby. Chris had been struggling to balance work and his responsibility to you and Grayson but never failed to make sure you knew how loved you both were, even from thousands of miles apart.
Eleanor Olivia Evans
After another long labor, you welcomed a little girl into your new family of 4. A tiny little girl who, just like your boy once did, calmed themselves down at the sound of your heart and the warmth from your body. Chris once again sat there just absolutely beside himself at the sight of the love of his life with his little girl on your chest.
Introducing Eleanor, or Ellie, to Grayson was probably one of the greatest moments of your life. Chris walked in with Grayson in his arms telling him that we needed to use our indoor voices when talking to mommy and the baby. Grayson quickly climbed to sit right next to you, not bearing even 1 day away from you. You hugged your little boy and talked to him about meeting his sister. Grayson ran his little hands running along Eleanor’s cheeks as you sat there crying at the moment they were having with each other.
Now with a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old life couldn’t have been sweeter. You had hardly been working while pregnant with Ellie, still having to keep up with a rambunctious toddler. Before kids, you were doing some writing for all sorts of movies and TV shows. After kids, you took fewer jobs that require travel and stayed mostly local.
Chris not wanting to leave you at home with a toddler and a newborn had made sure his work kept him close or allowed you and the kids to go with him. You both wanted to make sure you were there when Grayson and Ellie needed you.
If Grayson was a mama’s boy, Ellie was 1000% a daddy’s girl. She refused to let Chris out of her sight if she could help it. She refused to sleep most nights without hearing the sound of her dad’s voice and would cry and cry if he didn’t sing her to sleep. When Chris was pulled away for a week for work you were losing your mind trying to get her to sleep.
After a mild breakdown, you gave in and called Chris knowing even hearing his voice over the phone would calm the baby down. He sat there on the phone and just talked to her. She fell asleep almost immediately and slept through most of the night. You thanked Chris and ended up asking him for voice recordings of him talking and singing so you could play them in case he was pulled away again.
Charlotte Rose Evans
Charlotte, or Charlie as she's been nicknamed by her siblings, came into the world with a crew waiting so patiently for her arrival. By far the most painful and complicated birth you have had, she had quite dramatically made her entrance into the Evans family.
You had been monitored closely the last couple of months of your pregnancy as Miss Charlie tried to make an appearance early. You had some complications about halfway through and your midwife had been worried about possible preterm labor. You had started to have what you knew were contractions at 30 weeks and were immediately rushed into the hospital to try and halt the contractions and luckily succeeding.
You were placed on strict bed rest for the remainder of your pregnancy, not even allowed to stand at the stove making dinner, only getting up to use the bathroom and move from the bed to the couch.
It didn’t make your life with an overactive 4 and 2-year-old easy at all. Chris stayed home 24/7 to take care of you and his mom and sisters rotating taking the time to stay with you to help with the kids.
When Charlie did make her debut both of you were as healthy as you could be. Once again, bringing Chris to tears as another baby made their way into your family. He didn’t know he was capable of loving this much. He thought he had reached capacity after Ellie but the love he had for you and his kids just kept growing as you kept adding on.
If Grayson was all Chris, Charlie was all you. Except for her blue eye, which you figured would be a pattern with your kids. She was a copy of you and Chris ate it up. Eleanor is a perfect combination of the two of you. You could see the traits of you as well as the traits of Chris throughout her. But Charlie was completely you.
Grayson fit right into his role as big brother and protector of the Evans girls. He made sure every night he said goodnight to his sisters and told them he loved them with a kiss on their foreheads.
Ellie was excited that she no longer had to share her dolls with Grayson and would finally have a girl to play with. Charlie looked up to her big sister, seeing her as the most amazing person she has ever met.
Grayson, however, felt like he needed another sibling, specifically a boy sibling, and constantly asked you for a brother. He said to you over and over again that his friends at school had brothers and he needed one so very bad. You and Chris had agreed to stop at 3 but had given into the idea of having 1 more to try and even out the numbers. With Grayson in 2nd grade, Ellie in kindergarten, and Charlie starting Pre-K soon, having another wouldn’t be impossible.
Declan Robert Evans
The 2nd boy and the 4th and final child Chris and Y/N had brought into their world. Another perfect mix of Chris and Y/N.
His birth being the last time you would be in the hospital having a baby made it just that more emotional. You soaked in the first moments of his life just a little bit more. Chris cried just a couple more tears, seeing that angel on your chest for the first time. You admired the father of your children just a little more seeing him introduce the addition to the family to your other kids. Adoring the look on Grayson’s face when you set Declan on his lap, finally meeting the little brother he’d been wanting. Asking you if he could take him to class to show off to all his friends.
Walking around your house Declan’s first day home was more emotional than you had thought it would be. You brought every single one of your babies right through your front door. You had pictures littered around the house of moments in your life you were lucky to have immortalized forever. Knowing you had started your family here made you love everything just that much more.
Declan now 5 years old, Charlotte 8 years old, Eleanor 10 years old and Grayson at 12 years old you couldn’t imagine life any differently. You and Chris celebrated 13 years of marriage and almost 15 years together surrounded by the physical representations of the love you two shared for each other was unexplainable.
You had slowly started to get back into the work you loved doing so much after Declan started school. You were able to work on projects offered to you with Chris and had become an unstoppable duo professionally and personally.
Even having the amazing opportunities to do something you loved to do, nothing would ever beat sitting around a table listening to your kids talk about everything and anything that came to mind. Listening to them talk about what happened at school or about upcoming events they want to participate in was the highlight of your day.
Grayson had been playing with a football the moment he could pick one up. Chris nearly cried when Grayson had approached you guys about doing little league football at the rec center. Chris had been watching Patriot's games with Grayson since the day he was born. Taking him to games with Scott whenever they had the chance. The love for football ran in his blood and when he found out he could play on a team he took the chance as soon as it presented himself.
Eleanor had found a love for music and performing, just like her dad. She had picked up music and singing at a very young age, which probably came from her dad's love of performing. You encouraged her to pursue her love for music by telling her stories of when her daddy was young and used to stand on stage before he started doing big movies. She loved looking at pictures and watching old videos of Chris performing in high school whenever she'd visit Grandma Lisa.
Charlotte had picked up your love of reading and writing as soon as she could. Her favorite day of the week is when her class gets to spend time at the library finding new things to read and learn about. So far a running theme with her is books about nature and animals. She loves sitting down with you in the afternoon and telling you about what she learned in the science portion of her day. She had learned about how plants and animals interact and how important they are for all humans. She told you that when she's big she wants to make sure no one ever hurts plants and animals since they are so important for us.
Declan hadn't quite developed a love for something like his siblings had. All he cares about right now is the kind of snacks his mom packs for him and superheroes. You and Chris had introduced him to the world of superheroes recently, knowing that being in school someone was bound to mention to him about seeing his dad on a movie they watched. He was obsessed with the fact that his dad was a superhero once upon a time. He loved watching Chris' movies and would always ask to watch them whenever Chris wasn't home.
You looked at Chris from across the table as Grayson talked to him about football tryouts and asking him if they could practice after dinner. He felt your eyes on him and looked at you with a smirk and a wink thrown at you before giving Grayson his attention again.
You sat back a little to look around at this family surrounding you, knowing there was nothing better than this.

Halloween // Matthew Gray Gubler x Reader
Another Story based on a gif/picture! (Hope this is kinda what you were thinking @aberrant-annie )
Summary - It's the first year that y/n and Matthew are a couple, and he insists that they have a couples costume for an upcoming party.
Word count - 2.5k
Gif courtesy of @nationgubler
Tumblr media
It was that time of year again. The time where Matthew got impossibly excited, wore tremendously weird costumes, and snuck up behind me an ungodly amount of times.
Halloween.
Now you may be thinking, 'Halloween is a fun and *normal* time of year for many families!' But you only think that because you haven't met my boyfriend Matthew.
Now let's give a little background on the weirdo that is my best friend.
Matthew Gray Gubler is an actor, author, filmmaker, illustrator, fashion model, and painter. But what they don't put on his google search profile is that, before all, he is a Halloween Enthusiast.
He and I have been best friends for over 8 years, and every single one of those years he has effortlessly dragged me into any kind of spooky shenanigan that he could. This was the first year of the 8 that we are a couple, so he decided, in a fit of glory as he put it, that we *needed* a couple's costume this year for the Criminal Minds cast Halloween party. I was 100% down for this idea, but boy, I really didn't know what I was getting myself into by agreeing to it so easily. So let's go back to where this whole ordeal began.
The day was October 15th, and I was sitting blindfolded in the passengers seat of Matthew's car.
"Where the hell are we going?" I giggled, flailing my arms around the car, blindly looking for the trail mix I left in his car the day before. He grabbed my wrist, leading it down to the cupholder and putting my hand on the bag. He knew me too well.
"It's a surprise, obviously, just know it has to do with Halloween." He grabbed my hand and placed a gentle kiss to the top of it.
"Doesn't everything have to do with Halloween with you?"
"Maybe." He laughed.
We were in the car for around 15 minutes, all the while I jammed out to a mix of songs I loved and goofy Halloween themed songs. Matthew had made a playlist of the two as a compromise.
I heard the car click into park and listened as Matthew left the car and walked to my side, opening the door and leading me out.
"When will I be able to see again? This whole blind thing is not for me." He laughed at my remark, looping his arm through mine so he could lead me to what I could only assume was my death. That's when I heard it, the all too familiar laugh of a clown.
Here we go.
Without the notice of my lovely boyfriend I whipped my hand up to my head, removing the black cloth that covered my eyes, I only heard a squeak of protest from him before I saw 'The Haunted Jail' before me.
"Of course." I rolled my eyes in a playful manner, unhooking myself from his arm. "So, why are we here."
"Well, I was thinking that maybe we could get some couple costume ideas from here. It's the jails doubles night so two workers tag team on a costume." He gestured wildly with his hands towards the sign that read *Doubles night! Couples get a 15% discount tonight*. I shook my head in amusement.
"Alright, let's go."
After walking through the 3 story building, we came out with a nice list of ideas for scary couples costumes. This consisted of :
•Beetlejuice
•Pupetmaster and puppet
•Purge
•Wedding gone wrong
•Twisted Alice and Mad Hatter
Then we just had to come to a decision, and soon.
We then sat in the car on our way home to dig out more decorations from the attic. Our house from the inside looked like someone had gotten murdered. There were giant floor and window stickers that resembled blood, fake knives everywhere, and caution tape. This all paired with the tape in the shape of a body on the ground near our fridge. But Matthew had so graciously pointed out that we needed to decorate the outside like we were a haunted house.
He was currently up in our creepy ass attic as I stood with crossed arms at the end of the rickety ladder that led up there. He popped his head out of the little square hole, wearing a jason mask. I narrowed my eyes and shook my head with the smallest smile.
"I'm gonna hand some boxes down to you." I heard him say behind the muffling mask.
The first box held large organized strings of orange LEDs and hooks to set them up on. The next box was filled with fake webs and the next was a huge box. I set it on the ground, prying it open to reveal giant spiders with tacky red eyes and long fangs.
"Are we gonna have these bad boys climbing the ivy outside?" He popped from the attic in a new, mask. A werewolf one I assumed.
"Yep!" He lightly set another box in my hands. "I hate the smell of these masks," He ripped the mask off, revealing his unruly hair and squinting eyes from the new amount of light. "why do I keep buying them?" It made my heart melt, messy hair Gubler was my favorite Gubler.
We dragged all of the boxes outside and decorated for what seemed like 6 hours, it was way harder work than what you would expect. We ended up with 2 giant spiders hung on the ivy, 1 crawling up the porch, and 2 more on the roof. The webs we had were strung everywhere, but the 'main web', as Matthew called it, was across the porch. We had LEDs lighting up most of the outside of our house, it made it look like a constant sunset, or constantly living in a horror movie. Whatever floats your boat. And lastly, we had bloody tomb stones scattered in the yard with fake hands reaching up at the sky through the ground.
Then it was October 16th. I had woken up groggily, feeling the bed beside me for Matthew, but only touching the soft white sheets. The time was 9:47 am and the sun was bleeding through the curtains. My legs hung over the bed as my limbs stretched, pulling down a shirt that was much to large for me *probably because it wasn't mine*. As soon as I stepped out of my bedroom I was met with a scream mask.
"**Morning!**" This made me scream.
"Damnit Matthew Gray! Christ, will the scaring ever end?" I say this but of course, it was really one of my favorite things about him.
"Not until Christmas." He replied with a cocky smile, kissing me softly. I grabbed the back of his neck, deepening the kiss and trying to make him take the hint. He pulled away swiftly. "I would *love* to continue doing this." He ran his hands down my arms and to my hips. "But I made you breakfast and eggs are better warm." He squeezed my hip and gently pushed me toward the kitchen.
Over breakfast we discussed what we were going to go as for the party. We came to the conclusion that doing purge killers would be the most fun. Now all we had to do was get the costumes.
So we left around 1 for Party City. The place had a surprisingly small amount of people, considering the time of year. However there was one girl in there that kept sneaking looks at Matthew. She was standing near some children's costumes. I quickly found out why when a kid came running up with an Alice and Wonderland costume. Shaking it profusely at her mom. The woman kneeled down to her size and gestured towards Matthew. I scrunched my face up.
*What was she telling her?*
Matthew had kept walking and I swiftly caught up with him in the mask aisle. As soon as I got there, the small girl I had just saw was tugging at his orange pumpkin T-Shirt.
"Hi! My mommy said she's a big fan of you on crimimal minds." I giggled a bit. She waved him down to her level, and he gladly came down to listen. "I think she might have a crush on you." I could hear her whisper. He looked back at me expectantly, I just smiled with a shrug. I wasn't much of the jealous type, Matthew was *extremely* loyal, I trusted him with my life. I shooed him towards the woman. He stood and waved at her, gesturing her over and backing up to be by me. I was trying to be inconspicuous and look at the masks. But clearly my lovely boyfriend had a different idea.
"Hi! What's your name?" He asked with a famous million dollar grin.
"A-ashley." She stood for a second, silently staring at him. "I'm sorry, I obviously didn't expect to be seeing you. I'm a just huge fan of yours. And it doesn't help that you are way cuter in person." She smiled shyly, hugging her daughter to her side. Matthew smiled politely but quickly snaked his arm around my hip. I turned to her with the kindest smile I could. I could see realization dropping from her eyes to the red tips of her ears.
"Well you obviously know I'm Matthew. This is my girlfriend, y/n." I leaned into him slightly. Me and Matthew hadn't exactly gone *public*. So it was an honest mistake that she wouldn't know we were together. But to be fair, we weren't hiding it either. "Would you like a picture by the way?" That seemed to distract her enough to knock her out of her clearly petrified trance.
"Yes! A million times yes!"
"I'll take it for you." I grabbed the phone she held out with a slightly tense smile. We took a few pictures and said our goodbyes as she checked out an left. We got back to looking at masks.
"Did you see her face when I grabbed your hips? I kinda live for that look." I smacked his arm playfully.
"The poor girl, she just flirted with you in front if your *girlfriend*. You petrified her!"
"Well I think you just made her a little jealous." He came behind me, wrapping his arms around my stomach and kissing my shoulders.
"Ok Gubler," I slipped from his grip. "we are in public." He groaned a little and followed me down the aisle. I grabbed the cool LED masks with the X's for eyes and big smiles, the typical Purge ones. I got me a purple one and him a red one. Next stop was fake weapons.
I gazed at all of the weapons on the wall. Machetes, guns, bats, nunchucks, knives, all of it. I then looked over to see my boyfriend squinting and tapping his chin in fake contemplation.
"Oh just grab the knife, I know that's what you wanna get." He whipped it off the wall and gave me a serious look, pointing the sharp styrofoam at me. He tapped it to my nose and couldn't contain his laugh as I looked him in the eyes with the biggest smile I could muster.
"You really know how to break me out of character."
So he did end up buying the styrofoam knife, and I ended up buying a plastic machete. As we left the store, the masks and weapons in hand he nudged me.
"So have you thought of what we are gonna wear?"
"Oh yeah. I already have the outfit, you're gonna love it, mine at least. We still have some spare fake blood at home right?" He narrowed his eyes at me, nodding suspiciously. "Great, then I just have to decorate the shirts." Which is exactly what I did when we got home.
I laid our two white button up's on our asphalt driveway, splattering them with blood. Matthew watched me. Sitting a lawn chair as I covered my hands in the blood and put a few handprints on random parts.
"Can I see the whole outfit you have planned now?" He whined.
"Nope, you have to wait. It's not that far away."
But he had asked me to show him everyday up until today, October 31st, party day. Now here we are, on our way back from a McDonalds run that took a *bit* longer than anticipated and we had a very slight chance of being late. We stumbled into the house and ran to the room.
"Why are we rushing anyway?" I took a pause, catching my breath. "We don't have to be exactly on time anyway." He agreed and we slowed down a bit to get our things together.
"I didn't want to have to rush out after seeing you in costume anyway." He said, slyly reaching into the closet and grabbing our button up's. I grabbed the rest of my things from a plastic bag under my side of the bed. I went to the bathroom and changed. My outfit consisted of a black miniskirt, a black cropped tube top, and black knee high socks. Paired with black heeled low-top booties. Then slung over it all was ny open button up. I sheathed my machete behind me and walked out of the bathroom to see Matthew in his bloody shirt and old dress pants and shoes. His giant knife was sheathed in a holster on his side. He ogled at me for a moment, shifting on his feet.
"Holy- wow." He breathed out. I waltzed up to him, unbuttoning a few more buttons and messing his hair to fit the part a bit more. I handed him his mask, with my eyebrows raised. He set it on the bed behind him, cupping my face and bringing me in for a kiss. I ran my hands down his half bare chest and I could feel him smile into the kiss, so I did too, and boy was he a sucker for that. He deepened the kiss and pull me towards him as much as he could, leading his hands lower and lower. Eventually he grabbed my butt a little and I let a giggle slip into the kiss. I parted from him, staring into those honey brown eyes. I felt like a teenager. He had not taken his eyes off me since I left the bathroom.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer."
"Alright." He slid he phone from his pocket, snapping a picture of me. What was I gonna do with this man? I grabbed our masks and we headed out.
We were only about 20 minutes late to the party. We turned our LEDs on and entered AJs house, as her door was wide open.
"You guys look *amazing*!" Kirsten gushed. "Especially you y/n. *Damn* do you rock those socks."
"I know right?" He lifted his mask, placing a kiss on my cheek.
The whole night was filled with chugging fun Halloween themed drinks, compliments on our costumes, slipping secret kisses, and quite the photo shoot.
*And man was I in for it when I got home.*

It was just another day in Vacou. Hot temperatures, clear skies, and Carmine getting into trouble. Ruby paced around her home on the phone with the girl’s teacher. The fifteen year old wasn’t where she was supposed to be. “What do you mean she hasn’t showed up for class again? Is she in the school at all?” Ruby tapped her foot like a rabbit. She loved her daughter but the amount of anxiety caused whenever Carmine went off somewhere alone was a thing Ruby would never shake. She didn’t need another Dustin. Nobody needed another Dustin. Though at this point, Carmine wouldn’t have the luxury that child was given. She would no doubt be dead. The thought made Ruby hang up the phone and dial Sun’s number.
“Yellow?” The cheeky man answered. “Carmine wouldn’t be with you by any chance? She’s not at school. I’m about to start looking around town.” She heard a bit of rummaging over the phone. The man was climbing a tree to get a vantage point of his surroundings. “Haven’t seen her, but you know Carmine. She’s probably sticking her nose into some crime to stop it. The police authorizing her to do citizens arrest and intervene with organized crime was probably the most chaotic decision.”
Ruby walked up stairs to peek in on Jaune putting Garnet down for a nap. “I’m heading out.” Jaune gave a thumbs up. “Godspeed.” Ruby gave him a kiss then dashed out the house. “Do you mind helping me out Sun? Vacou has too many nooks and crannies.”
“I think I have a better idea. Aero could speed things along.” Ruby’s face went through varying emotions. “Why isn’t he in school?” She asked. “He kept complaining about it. This gives me an excuse to put him to work though. The two of you together can cover Vacou in now time.” That was true. Vacou didn’t feel so big with help like his. “Can you put him on the phone?”
Sun looked around for his son. It was no surprise to see him on the roof. He was fortunately dressed already. The typical black combat boots with khaki cargo pants that had purplish sash around the waist that matched his shirt. His short brown hair was slicked back and he put on his black windbreaker. He turned his head to see Sun trying to get his attention.
“Yo! Ruby wants to talk to you, bird brain” Sun blinked and Aero was already hovering over him. His massive black and white condor wings spread out. Aero took the phone. “Let me guess,Carmine?” This wasn’t the first time he had to find the girl. Ruby sighed, “you guessed right. Do you know why she isn’t at school?” He had to think about it for a moment, then he had a pretty good idea why. “I could be wrong but there’s been talk about this back alley gang that’s been harassing students. Money, catcalling, forcing people to join, making those people get more people; the typical shtick. Carmine would definitely know about it.”
Great, Carmine was definitely doing something about that. Ruby picked up the pace. Gangs aren’t the worst thing to be dealing with. Vacou spawns Them constantly, but there are a few that are way too big and will take more than her. Carmine was good, but not untouchable. “Aero can you help me look for her and let me know what you find? I know you two are pretty fickle with each other but…”
“I’ll keep you posted. Not like I could refuse anyways.” He grunted, rubbing the back of his neck. “Thank you. I’ll be sure to make you all the pasta you can eat.” Ruby said as she hung up. Aero gave Sun back his phone. “I’m going to borrow your arm bracers. Back alley brawl, you know those go.” Sun gave him a nod and gave him the ones he already had on.They weren’t what he used to but these bracers were the best quality. “Your mother is going to kill you if you lose.” Aero chuckled nervously. Truer words had never been spoken. He gave his wings a good flap and shot off towards the rest of town. The wind from his take off nearly knocked Sun over. “I hope he finds her in high spirits.”
xxxx
“FOR THE LOVE OF GODS! SHE’S ONE GIRL!” Shouted a man with a greasy mullet, aviators, and a cobras tattoo on his arm. He had just watched another one of his men get their face punched into a brick wall by Carmine. “WHY IS SHE STILL STANDING!?”
A man grabbed Carmine from behind to restrain her while another ran at her from the front with a knife. Carmine kicked out with both legs to hit his chin, then flung her weight forward to flip her captor forward; landing on top of him. “Fight me yourself if you think I’m easy to beat, you rock band reject.” She looked around at the dozen upon dozens of brutes that laid on the ground, writhing in pain. “Clearly your men need help. More came rushing in from back alley doors and fire escapes. The quality of the people weren’t too bad. It was the quantity that was a pain in the ass. Carmine had to admit she came here unprepared and unexpectedly; on uniform day no less. Her clothes were soiled with dirt and blood. Some of it being her own.
A slow stream of it ran down her face and over her left eye while her left forearm was an unhealthy mix of red and purple from blocking pipes. Even her face was a bit bruised and bloodied by scratches. Carmine was confident she looked like a complete badass right now. It was the only pro in this situation that kept the pain in check. That and adrenaline. A schoolmate cowarded behind a city dumpster where Carmine ordered the boy to stay. He had been targeted by the gang and came to school scared out of his mind. He also was a little beat up. “You okay back there?”
“No!” He shouted. He poked out from his hiding spot. “Why’d I let you talk me into taking you here!? We’re gonna die!” Carmine could understand that mentality, but why her classmate had it after all the bodies she’s knocked to the ground was beyond her. Her appearance had to be the reason why. Carmine kept up the assault, roundhouse kicking two more guys and uppercutting some chick with green hair. Another girl came running at her with a knife aimed for her face. Carmine back stepped then grabbed the wrist of the opponent, flinging her into three more people. Carmine ran at the leader but was hit in the back with a bat and stumbled into another brute that gave her a meaty left hook she couldn’t see coming. Her body hit a brick wall. Having her weapons would be nice right now was all she could think about.
The one with the bat went in for another swing to the head. Carmine grit her teeth and blocked it with her already broken arm. “This will do.” She yanked him forward and head butted the weapon out of his hand. The bat was lighter than what she used to. Carmine kicked off the wall and swung it across the other brutes face, knocking him out cold. More came rushing in to dog pile her but Carmine was too quick. She weaved in between the bodies and had their ribs become acquainted with her new weapon. “I have to be honest with y’all, getting really close to just beating you within an inch of your life.” The threat was all too real and they could tell.
Some of them started approaching slower and with far more caution. They’d be damn if some kid was about to win. Their boss wouldn’t allow running away anyways. Carmine growled, getting annoyed by the herd mentality of weaklings. “If you know what’s best then stop hanging around schools and dealing to children if you know what’s good for you.” She vanished from their line of sight before appearing several feet closer with six more gang members face down on the ground. “Or we can keep roughing it? Either way works for me.” Carmine was really hoping to catch her breath. Her limbs felt heavy.
They kept advancing, step by step. The hard way it is. She felt bad for them really. From the moment Carmine entered the alleyway, they forfeited their right to leave quietly. She only gave them an out so they couldn’t say she didn’t. A twinge of excitement and anger crept onto her face in the form of a smile. Her red eyes shimmered eagerly. “Bring it on, fools.”
“Well look at that, a face of a predator in her element. You’re a real freak show, you know that?” Called Aero from above. Everyone looked up to the man with his phone out. He zoomed in on Carmine and took a picture for Ruby. “Your mom is searching for you. She’ll flip seeing you like this.” He already got a message from Ruby saying she was five minutes away. “Who the hell are you!” Cried the leader.
Carmine grimaced. “Aero…” she looked to her right to see the boy next to her while the others took a minute to notice he wasn’t in the sky anymore, gasping when they finally did. “I don’t need you here. I got this covered.” Aero looked Carmine up and down. “You look like shit. That’s not new though, but I’m here as a favor l. You may not need my help but that kid over there is the reason this is happening right? He looks like he’ll take all the help he can get.”
“I would!” He shouted. Carmine rolled her eyes and approached the group of gang members, her bat twirling in her hand. “Handle the small fry while I teach their leader a thing or two. If you think you can handle it.” A grunt ran at Carmine but was met with a wing slap across the face that sent them to the ground. Aero smiled and dashed towards another grunt, striking their face hard enough to break their nose and push a few more back. The leader got a good look at the young man. His heart sank when he realized both of these troublesome kids had a colored sash. The girl’s scarf and the fabric on the boy’s waist. To make it worse, the gray eyes and majestic wings. Started looking familiar. “You...live on the outskirts, to the north, right?”
Aero cracked his knuckles. “Oh, so you know who I am? Then you know today is the day your gang gets run into the ground. Don’t feel too bad though. Losing to a rival group is the natural order of things. Carmine, we have four minutes before your mom steals the show.” Carmine did nothing but rush past him with her bat at the ready. Words waste time after all. It was time for a beat down.
xxxx
Ruby darted around the tight corners of shabby buildings that hid all kinds of secrets. That photo really sent her into a panic. Being battered and bruised was nothing new to see. That was the sad part. Why couldn’t she go school for a full day for once! Ruby didn’t even care that Carmine was a C student. Yes her grade in math needed to go up next quarter and literature class may need work. But Ruby wasn’t going to hassle her about it! She just wanted her safe. “Carmine! Where are you!?” The area was dead quiet to the point it was unnerving. Ruby turned one more corner. “CARMINE?!”
“Hmm?” The girl heard her mother and turned around. There she stood, teary eyed and out of breath. All while Carmine sat on a pile knocked out goons. Her scarf pressed against her head to stop the bleeding. She bit her lip, feeling a little guilty now that she sees the worried look on her mom. “It’s not as bad as it looks. Just don’t hug me tight. My ribs took a beating, also my arm. Good chance I’m also concussed-” Ruby gently wrapped her arms around her.
“I’ll yell at you later. Just do me a favor and tell me the crazy shit you’ll do?” Carmine turned flushed and hugged her mother back. “You’re lucky everyone is knocked out. It would be embarrassing for common thugs to see this. Would you believe me if I said I had full intention on going to school. Then that guy over by the dump walked by all frazzled, hassling people out of fear. Protecting peers is part of being a good student, right?”
Ruby looked at the boy. Aero was helping him up. She didn’t know how many people he had to fight. There wasn’t a scratch on him but the bracers were riddled with fresh blood. He didn’t even look tired. Typical Aero, he’s a wild one. Forget silver eyes. That silver tongue and calm attitude was all the weapons he needed. It was still sweet of him to lend a helping hand. Ruby didn’t even have to pay him this time! Perhaps his parents got on him about such a thing. “I’m going to drop this guy off at school. I’d stick around but you know, fuck that noise. You can deal with paperwork work and authorities. I want that pasta with meat sauce by the way. Later Mrs Rose, Little Flower” He said to Carmine. He spread his wings and took off.
Carmine scowled at that nickname. “I can’t believe you sent him after me. Of all the people.” Ruby chuckled lightly, he’s the only one in all of Remnant who might completely enjoy your chaos.” Ruby had a point. For all the years they’ve known each other, Aero seemed to invite controversy. It was incredibly irritating. Why couldn’t he thrive off a peace like a normal person? “Wait, you promised him pasta?”
“Yep, your punishment is helping me cook for him.” Carmine looked at her arm. “Uh...one handed? Even with dad’s help I am going to need a cast.” Ruby shook her head. “Extreme choices require extreme punishments! Do your best!” The enthusiasm didn’t match just how cruel that statement was. Carmine held her head down and sighed, “Fine…he better like it, or I’ll stab him.” Ruby frowned. “This is why your friend bubble is as tiny as a soap sud.” Carmine’s jaw dropped. “Hey!”
xxxx
Carmine sat on the couch covered in bandages while Jaune wrapped her broken arm for the second time. Aero sat at their table comfortably eating pasta and tried to stop himself from choking out of laughter. “Amazing on the battlefield, stumbles in the kitchen. Oh the pitfalls of Carmine Arc-Rose never stop being entertaining.
“I will beat you with my ca-aaah!” Carmine winced. Jaune wasn’t pleased. “You’re pulling your stitches!” The three of them kept going back and forth while Ruby fed Garnet along with Sun and Ilia. “Why are they like this?” They all said silently as they ate. At least they had a reason to eat together. All in all, a pretty good day.

Of Scales and Sea Glass
•Chapter 3•
Previous Chapter // Next Chapter
(Summary: Eddie and his merman’s relationship evolves with the mer’s new found voice.)
Also shout out to @ambitiousskychild on tumblr for being my beta!
~
Eddie’s eyes went as wide as the full moon, his eyebrows had practically sky rocketed and his jaw hit the floor.
When he finally gathered up the energy to speak, he couldn’t help the tone of his voice, it wasn't really angry…. It was just loud, “What the fuck! You kiss me and now you can speak?”
“Of course I can speak! Everyone can,” he shot back, his own voice growing louder to match Eddie’s.
“But you had to kiss me to do it?”
“Uh- yeah, I need saliva for the spell to work,” the merman said in a ‘well duh’ tone.
“SPELL!?” Eddie’s stomach dropped.
“Yeah! How do you think I just magically learned human-” But before the merman could continue, Eddie got to his feet.
“I-I, I can’t do this,” he stammered. He could barely look at the fish in his tub, he rushed out of the bathroom, practically tripping as he tried to stand.
“Oh come on cute ass!” He called after Eddie.
Eddie hesitated as he stood at the top of the stairs, without missing a beat he flipped the fish off and left the house. He needed to get as far away from that thing as he could.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. FUck. fuCK. FUCK!
The only coherent thought he could create inside his head.
It was a little ironic that he ended up standing on the beach when he wanted to escape his- the merman.
His knees wobbled from beneath him, causing him to take a seat on the warm sand.
He kissed me.
Eddie couldn’t deny that he did kinda enjoy it. The way their lips moved, it was as if they were on the same wavelength, two jigsaw pieces finally clicked together. And Eddie hated it.
He hated how much he enjoyed the kiss, he hated how much he’s grown used to his trashmouth, he hated how cute he was. What he hated most was that one day he’d have to go back into the ocean, to his home. The idea made Eddie sick to his stomach, and he knew why. As much as he hated to admit it, he had developed a crush on the scaly creature. It was just something about the way that Eddie was able to be himself when he was with the mer, how they made eachother laugh and smile. Even if it couldn’t talk! Eddie always felt at home when they were together, even if they were just sitting in silence. There was nowhere else he’d rather be.
After his realization struck, that’s when he noticed the hot tears that had begun to stream down his face. And it was all because he was crushing on a creature of the sea…
~
It took him a while, maybe even hours, to fully compose himself, but he did. When he did he tried so hard to think of things on the brighter side.
“Okay… So it- he can talk. That’s great! We kissed, that’s great. Sure it felt like literal heaven on earth but that’s fine. It’s all fine. Fuck, well at least I can fianlly find out his goddamn name,” Eddie chuckled at that last bit.
He still sat on the beach when his eyes finally returned to their normal look, after crying. His hands had found their place in the sand by his side, mindlessly digging and tossing the sand. He stopped when he felt something hard in his grasp. He glanced to the side and saw something sticking out of the sand where his hand had just been. Eddie picked it up and held it up. The sun shined down on the small piece of sea glass Eddie held.
The stone brought a smile to his face and a memory to mind. He remembered the mer’s glasses, how their lenses were made out of some sort of sea glass, how eager the mer was to finally see the world, see Eddie.
“Scales and sea glass,” Eddie smiled and pocketed the stone, finally ready to go back inside.
~
Eddie walked with his back straight and his chin high, he marched into his house and up the stairs into the bathroom. The merman stirred, turning to watch as the human stopped in front of the tub.
“Hi, I’m Eddie Kaspbrak.” He introduced himself and stuck his hand out. He mimicked the fish and made a little grabbing motion with his fingers. He smiled halfheartedly. “Give me your hand. It’s how us- humans introduce ourselves.”
The merman silently raised his hand out of the water and placed it inside Eddie’s. It was a little awkward with the webbed fingers and the claws, but it was still something.
“I’m Richie. Richie Tozier.” The merman, Richie, smiled, glad to see his human didn’t look completely mortified like he did before.
Eddie smiled, Richie Tozier, I like the sound of that.
~
The next few days were interesting. Now everyday when Eddie walked into the bathroom he was greeted by his merman, Richie, who he learned had a love for talking, and had a trashmouth, of course. Constantly joking about fucking moms and doing crack (how did he know about cracK? Eddie will never know). Although they fell into a groove, that was their constant bickering, they also began subtle flirting with each other, something Eddie wasn't sure if Richie meant in a platonic way, or if he shared the same feelings that Eddie did.
“Okay so you’re telling me that this kid- Peter?” Richie asks.
“Peter,” Eddie confirmed, a ghost smile on his lips.
“So Peter gets bits by a tiny tiny spider and suddenly he gets powers? How the hell does that work?” Richie had his chin resting on the edge of the tub, looking down at the comic book Eddie was reading for him.
Eddie laughed, something he seems to be doing a lot of now that Richie can talk, “How the hell am I supposed to know? It’s like you and your powers-” Eddie ducked his head, raised his hand and flicked Richie’s forehead, “Aqua man,” he smirked.
“Oh I am so not Aquaman. I’m more of a…. Batman, ya know? Cool and mysterious,” Richie smiled into the distance.
Eddie laughed, like hard.
“HEY! I can be mysterious! I was a myth to your kind for the longest fucking time,” Richie nodded his head proudly.
“No, you jackass. You’re so not cool.” Eddie looked over at Richie, he blushed when he saw Richie was already staring at him.
~
“Fuck I hate this stuff,” Eddie almost gagged as he shoved another mussel into his mouth.
“Then why do you eat it?” Richie asked, mouth full of fish. Eddie grimaced slightly then swallowed the food in his mouth.
“‘Cause I gotta start eating fish at one fucking point,” Eddie twirled another forkfull of pasta, shoving it in his mouth, then putting a couple mussels in there as well, at least if he mixed it up then he wouldn’t taste them as much.
With Eddie buying so much fish for Richie (plus Richie gave him hell for not liking fish), he decided he might as well try to get accustomed to it as well. So he started off small, mixing seafood into his normal meals and such, tonight was pasta and mussels in a white wine sauce. Eddie had learned that he was actually a pretty good cook.
“What even is that?” Richie gestured to the pasta with a clawed finger.
Eddie twirled another forkful, added a mussel then held it out to Richie. The mer smiled at the gesture and opened his mouth. He chewed, swallowed and smiled.
“Damn, Eds! That’s good!” Richie hollered.
“How many times do I have to tell you-” Eddie started.
“Don’t call me Eds, I’m too cute for my own good… blah, blah, blah” Richie mimicked Eddie’s voice. The compliment sent a warm feeling through Eddie’s chest as he glanced away.
“It’s spaghetti by the way,” Eddie said shyly.
Richie cocked an eyebrow, “Spajetti?”.
“Spa-get-ti” Eddie giggled as he over pronounced the word.
“Spaghetti?” Richie asked.
“Spaghetti.” Eddie confirmed, a small proud smile on his lips.
“Eddie Spaghetti?” Richie inquired, eyebrows raised.
Eddie’s eyes went wide, “No, no, no,noooo. Please don’t start calling me that,” Eddie begged, but there’s no sorrow in his voice, just pure amusement.
“Whatever you say Spagheds,” Richie winked.
“God I hate you,” Eddie laughed.
Richie let out a little happy huff of air through his nose as his gaze fell on Eddie, “I hate you too”.
~
Richie’s life changed drastically the day he got caught up in that storm and washed up inside of Eddie’s pool. Sure it was a big change from what he was usually used to, which was aimlessly floating around the ocean, but now he got to aimlessly spend his days inside of a cute boy’s bath tub. And he’s really cute. Cute, cute, cute…
The morning light came in through the bathroom window, directly onto Richie’s face. His eyes fluttered open, immediately scanning his blurry surroundings.
Shit, glasses.
Richie leaned over the side of the tub and aimlessly felt around for his glasses which he always took off before he fell asleep, in fear of them somehow breaking in his sleep. His fingers brushed over the glasses, so he flicked his fingers and got his claws out, which gave his fingers a little bit more length. With that, he was able to slide his glasses closer to him. He grabbed them and put them on. The world cleared around him. He let out a sigh as he moved his hands to rest behind his head with his elbows out. He watched the morning sunlight dance over his blue scales, the light reflected onto the ceiling, creating a trippy design on the bathroom ceiling.
Richie’s head snapped to the side when he heard the door creak open, and in walked a very tired-looking Eddie.
“Good morning, my dearest Eddie, and how’s thy doing on this fine morning?” Richie asked in a british accent. Eddie took a seat on the closet toilet.
“Morning Trashmouth,” Eddie smirked as he sat down beside him on the floor instead of the toilet (it was something Eddie had started to do more ad Richie loved it). Eddie glanced over at Richie, fatigue still glazed over his eyes, his hair all disheveled. “I barely got any sleep, again,” Eddie sighed and rubbed his temples.
“Nightmares?” This was something Richie had grown used to, Eddie's nightmares usually revolved around his parents’ death, or the ocean.
Richie reached out (his claws retracted) and pushed a loose strand of golden brown hair behind Eddie’s ear. He left his hand cupping Eddie’s cheek. Eddie’s hand soon drifted up to rest upon the mer’s. He leaned into Richie’s touch.
“Wanna talk about it?” Richie asked, comforting Eddie.
“No… Rich, it's the same as always,” Eddie looked over at Richie, just the sight of his merman made Eddie's chest warm and his palms all sweaty.
“What if, one day, we go out to the beach and I-I can try to help you swim?” Richie knew it was a crazy idea, he wasn't even sure how Eddie would get him there, but he knew one day he'd have to go back. He didn't like thinking about the day he'd have to leave Eddie. So he was determined to make every moment count. Richie also couldn't stand to see Eddie so terrified of the wafer, so he might as well try to help.
Eddie’s eyes went wide for a second, “Me? In the water? Remember last time that happened?” The two recalled the first day they met, when Eddie fell into the pool, and Richie saved him.
“We’ll take it slow,” Richie assured. “I won’t let anything happen to you.”
Eddie let out a little chuckle, he really liked how much Richie cared for him, it made him feel safe. “Well, until then, how does breakfast sound?” Eddie slowly pulled Richie’s hand off of his cheek, but kept holding on until he stood.
“Sounds great,” Richie grinned and winked as Eddie left to go get the food.
The two ate together and talked like usual. Eddie explained his plans for the day ahead. His friend Mike had something, called a cat? Richie wasn't sure what that was but apparently it had babies and Eddie and his group were going to see them. Richie wasn't too sure what was gonna happen, but Eddie seemed excited, so he was happy.
The bell rang throughout the house, Eddie had told him how it meant someone was at his front door. “Shit, that’s Bill. I gotta go Rich, see you later?” He asked even though he knew the answer. He grabbed the plates and containers and stood to leave.
“I won’t be going anywhere,” Richie smirked, he blew Eddie a kiss before the human left.
The merman knew it was stupid to crush on a human. Everyone always told him how humans were sinister monsters who’d skin him and eat him, or rip off his tail and leave him to die. But everything changed when he met Eddie. His human was sweet and gentle, sure a little worrisome and asthmatic, but he cared for Richie, more than anyone ever has before. So of course it was easy to fall for him, especially since he was so cute. I mean, come on! Look at him, that little face. And his cute ass!
When Eddie was gone, Richie tried his best to keep himself entertained. Sometimes he’d talk to Goldy, but that fish was pretty quiet and he found Richie annoying. He’d read the comics Eddie left him, well it was more Richie just admiring the pictures as he had yet to understand human writing. Eddie would also leave the little music player for Richie to use and tune to his pleasure, a radio was it? Whatever it was, Richie liked the music, and after a couple days he began to recognize the songs and then when he heard a song he knew he’d get all excited and try to sing along. After he’d usually fool around with his powers, play with the water and stuff without making too much of a mess. But the best part of any day was always when Eddie returned home to him.
“Edwardo is that you?” Richie called out to Eddie.
“No it’s a burglar! Yes of course it’s me!” Richie could hear the smile in Eddie’s voice as he bounded up the stairs.
“Hey Eds,” Richie smiled, relieved to see him again.
“Hey yourself, Trashmouth” Eddie entered the bathroom, ruffled Richie’s hair then took a seat on the floor beside him.
“How were the tittens?” Richie asked excitedly.
Eddie giggled. “You mean Kittens?”.
“What now?” Richie’s brow furrowed.
“Kittens, I went to go see baby cats today, here, look,” Eddie whipped out his phone and showed Richie some pics of the babies.
“So you can take uh-” Richie waved his hand around, grasping for the right word, “Photos? Photos with that?” he asked.
“Yeah, er-here” Eddie clicked a couple things then turned the phone to Richie.
“Woah,” Richie gaped as he stared at himself in the selfie cam. “Take photos of me!” He begged happily.
Eddie rolled his eyes playfully as Richie struck a pose. “You’re such a drama queen.” He giggled as he snapped a couple pics. Eddie took enough photos so just started a video.
“I know right?” Richie smirked and magically flicked some water at Eddie.
“Hey!” he giggled. Eddie turned the camera around so he could see himself as he sat back down beside Richie. “Say hi,” he suggested as Richie leaned forward.
“Hey guys, Richie Tozier here,” Richie announced in a TV announcer voice. “Here with me today is the adorable Edwardo Kaspbrak.” He pinched Eddie’s cheek.
Eddie swatted his hand away, “That’s not my name dickwad,” he mused.
“I know but you love it so much,” Richie smirked.
“I really don’t.”
“But I know what you do like,” Richie claimed and kissed Eddie’s cheek.
The sudden show of affection nearly caused Eddie to drop his phone. His heart was racing and his stomach was full of butterflies. He ended the video and slid the phone back into his pocket.
“Ew gross, fish germs.” He tried to hide his embarrassment as he wiped his cheek with the back of his hand.
“Oh come on Eddie, you love me,” Richie dragged out the O.
Eddie stood up and glanced out the door, quickly he changed the subject. “You hungry for some dinner? I can make you some pasta if you want?” he asked.
“The only pasta I need is you, Spaghetti,” Richie smiled happily.
“God, you’re such a sap,” Eddie sighed as he walked out of the room.
“Ha! I don’t even know what sap means!” Richie called out after Eddie.
Eddie made the same pasata he had from a couple nights ago. Though he wasn't the biggest fan of the mussels, he did enjoy the white sauce it was in. He made the pasta and put his on a plate, then added some more fish to Richie’s and put it in a bowl.
They ate dinner together and joked around like usual. When the sky grew dark and the moon came out, Eddie let out a yawn.
“Well, that’s my cue. I’m gonna go to bed,” Eddie said, stretching.
“Okay,” Richie looked a little disappointed, even though he too was about to fall asleep. He never seemed to get enough time with Eddie.
“Goodnight trashmouth,” Eddie leaned over and kissed Richie’s forehead. The gesture acted as a way of payback for the little stunt Richie pulled during that video. Eddie could visibly see Richie blush as he looked up at him with those big blue eyes.
“Goodnight Eds.”
“That’s not my name!” Eddie smirked, turning to leave.
“Wait-Eds, I’ve been meaning to ask, what does that button do?” Richie pointed to a small red button above the main water controls of the tub.
Eddie yawned and waved his hand around, “It doesn't matter, Rich. Just please don’t touch it…. Goodnight.”
Richie stared at the doorway as he watched Eddie leave. Well shit, now i’ve gotta test it out. Richie’s mind was slipping in and out of sleep as he poked the button with the tip of his tail fin. Sadly sleep took him away before he could see what it did.

Kill Me Hardly (Ch.4)
Notes: Tai’s Point of View in the beginning. She/you used
@youtubequeens : It’s a roller coaster, lol
Warnings: cussing, deranged criminal, poor excuse of sibling rivalry, death, PTSD, ect. Read at your own risk
…….
He fucking hated it. Craving warmth and friendship, a familiarity that he’d once known. For so long he’d push those feelings down, and then a fucking ethereal ghost had to show up, tearing down the walls that he’d built, while wearing a little heart on her sleeve while not giving a shit.
He wanted to strangle the damned woman to death, well, to another death.
He was too prideful, he knew, but he had demons of his own that were locked tightly within his personal hell, and this fucking...annoying angel, he guessed, seemed to calm them. He didn’t let her know that, though.
Two months. Two months he fought to keep those barriers up, metaphorical walls had been covered in thorns, and for what?
What was he even fighting for? He questioned himself. Memories of blood and lifeless eyes filled his mind. It was such a dark place that he’d tried to shut out for the longest time. He ran from his fear, yet he had embraced whatever life had thrown at him. He had spent so much time either stalking the streets, in hospitals, or behind bars, and he was getting tired of it all.
The ghost’s company actually helped. He had to tear his gaze away from her. Telling himself that she wasn’t special, she was a dead woman walking. She was a thorn in his side until she could move on. His own words hurt him, for he knew that she was more than that.
Brick by brick, she seemed to remove, and yet, he found himself placing three or four more on that wall.
Then, he woke up without her in the house for once in two months. Empty. Cold. He couldn’t help but think. He didn’t know how much influence she had on him, until he began panicking. Did she finally cross over? He should feel relieved, he berated himself. He didn’t. He felt as if he had accomplished nothing, and now the only one to seem to really give a shit about him, was gone.
Hours later, he seen your figure, and yelled out his displeasure, sounding more violent than he meant too, because he was scared. Then your eyes met his, and his world stilled, and then cracked as you admitted to what you’ve heard.
No, this couldn’t be, couldn’t it? His stubborn, stupid little ghost was actually fleeting, this time when he finally decided that he tolerated her company. It would be hours later when he would see you again, but he couldn’t help but feel weighed down by the news, how you looked with a broken heart, and how he was feeling such feelings that he never really did want to.
He actually gave a genuine damn about somebody who he could say that was stuck to him. Tears slid down his own cheeks as he hastily rubbed them away. It’s been so long since he had cried for another person. The last one was for the kid who he was trying to save. Opening a pack of smokes, he looked at the thing with disgust as he threw the things in the garbage can, opting instead to light his favorite candles, the vanilla cream one that oddly smelled like you.
He couldn’t save you, even though he kept saying that he wanted to kill you. He awoke later with your hand floating through his hair, a gentle expression of care marred your features, and he couldn’t help but sigh. No, he couldn’t think about such thoughts. You were going to die. Then the two of you began talking, and then, it hit him on how truly lonely and fucking scared you must’ve been.
No warmth, no safety, nobody to care about you or hug you, or brush away your tears, as your family grieved for your dying body.
A dumbass, is what he had felt, another set of tears stinging his eyes as he took your exhausted, tired form in. You weren’t fully dead, but you looked like that’s what you wanted to be. He had to be alone and think some more. After telling you that he was going to take a nap, he sat on his bedroom floor and thought. You were dying, and although he could understand why that you stuck to him like glue, you did things that he wanted to do. You stuck by him as he hurt those people, taking their money as you helped be his eyes and ears, never betraying his trust.
Then he turned on the news in his bedroom, to get his mind off of things. Tough luck for him, for when he was about to switch the channel, the subject had changed, revealing a very familiar face of a certain caught criminal. Your brother, he couldn’t help but think as certain physical similarities between the two of you had matched. There was no doubt that the young, hooded-eyed young man was related to you.
He needed to talk to you.
…………
Here you were, staring at the man with bewilderment and wonder. Who was he, and what did he do to Taishiro?
“Stop fuckin’ lookin’ at me like that.” He griped across the dining room table.
“But it’s so weird, you look so soft.” You said.
“Pft. Ya have a weird image of ‘soft’. Anyway, let’s get started. Ya don’t ‘ave enough time, an’ probably need to make peace, right?” He asked suddenly, and it confused you.
“Peace with what?”
“Yer brother. Fucker got arrested last night’, and you and I are gonna see him.” He said smoothly, and it caught you off guard.
“What?” Was all your brain could ask.
“Ya heard me! We’re gonna see yer brother! Ya wanna, or not?” He snapped, and your heart pounded in your chest. Although it was two months, why was he doing this for you? Didn’t you annoy the hell out of him, constantly? You asked him, and he groaned into a sigh, palming his face with exasperation.
“The sooner ya make peace, the easier it is for ya to finally fuckin’ leave.” Came out harshly, he bit his lip, as if embarrassed by his own words. It had hurt, yes, but he was right. You didn’t want to be like those spirits who weren’t at peace. The bloodied ones who had an emptiness to their eyes, stalking old memories that they only knew.
“Will you be my voice, Tai-chan?” You asked, instead, and he looked at you as if baffled.
“What else, ya Ninny? Tch! Don’t let anybody, even me, say stupid shit like that to ya!” He huffed out, and you smiled despite the churning of nerves within your stomach.
………
It was easier to visit than you expected. With a roll of her eyes, the secretary had one police officer escort Tai into the cells, you following as you gathered your courage, sick to your stomach. You wanted to face him and your fears.
“I’ll leave you to him.” The officer said finally, opening a metal door, and Taishiro gave a curt nod as the two of you went inside. It was a fairly large, yet empty room, surrounded by chairs and in front of the chairs, were different, mostly empty cells. Save for one.
You swallowed thickly you had easily found your brother, who was looking down, hooks underneath his eyes as he resembled a pale, sickly shell of his former self.
“Ya sure ya wanna do this?” Tai asked thickly. You stared at him, seeing his mouth pursed in a thin line, eyes trained onto your brother with a look of fury and yet exasperation. He seen the type, you knew, yet his hot-blooded anger wasn’t aimed at you. It seemed as if it never was, not this type.
“I’ll be fine. I just…want...closure, I guess.” You admitted, looking at the shell who use to protect you from bullies. As the two of you neared closer, you felt nauseated and tired, but it was as if it was nothing compared to the loneliness and lack of warmth and closure that you had felt for a little over a year.
You and Tai still as your brother raised his head. A sinking dread churned your insides as you felt as if you knew what was about to come.
Your brother’s eyes met yours, and you froze.
“Holy shit.” Taishiro murmured.
“Yeah.”
“T-the fuck? I-is this a nightmare? You’re suppose to be dead!” Your brother shouted, his words echoed in the almost empty room.
“Not dead, thanks to your shitty skills with a blade.” You swallowed thickly, tears threatening to spill, already. You weren’t sure if you were ready for this.
“Why did you do it? Was it worth it? Leaving us all behind while you snorted crack beside some dumpster with your ratty friends?” You couldn’t help but growl out, anger bubbling within you as tears of frustration threatened to boil over, yet you couldn’t care less, as all of your focus was pinned onto your brother.
“What do you know?! They were all I’ve got! You know Mom and Dad held you onto a pedestal, leaving me to fend for myself!” He gripped the bars, knuckles turning white as he stared at you with wild-eyed abandon. He wasn’t making a very compelling argument, and you knew that it was due to the drugs.
“Says the guy who had a scholarship in Nursing! What was the real reason for that night, dumbass? You’ve been missing for months, and finally! Finally when you visited, Mom and Dad welcomed you in, crying with relief...and then…and then….” You choked, holding your hand to your throat as you pinned your brother with a hateful, seething stare mixed with agony. He stilled, as if seeing your wound   for the first time.
Paling, he fell to his knees, holding his head in his hands as he grit his teeth, his eyes widened as fat droplets of wet fell onto the floor.
“You were in the way! I was gonna just hack the old goat and hag! But then, the inheritance would just fall onto you, instead! I wanted to spare you, I did! But I needed that hit, that high! You’ll never understand!” He growled out, facing towards you with a furious glare. Your stomach sunk as the realization had hit you. You weren’t the only target planned for that night, and you were wasting your time with somebody who had replaced you, along with the rest of his family, so easily. The knowledge of the fact had hurt worse than you wound, you swallowed thickly.
“We’re done here.” You choked into a whisper.
“Okay.” Your attention snapped towards Taishiro. He was so quiet, and yet you’ve never seen so much fury and hurt burn underneath those amber irises, before. His hands clenched as if itching to tear the other man apart.
“Let’s go home.” He growled out, instead, and you nodded dumbly, following him as your brother shouted more obscure things, wedging that metaphorical knife deeper into you, still. Knocking on the metal door, the police officer’s face looked pale.
“I didn’t know that he was that bad. Are you alright, Sir?” He asked, and Taishiro huffed out a nod.
“Man’s been admitting that he was gonna kill the girl’s parents, too.” He thoughtfully added. The officer nodded.
“Yes...we have the right to record, and so it’ll show up in his court hearings. If you mind me asking, who is this man to you?” The officer prodded gently.
“His sister’s a friend of mine.” Was all he said. The two of you moved in silence as he unlocked the front door to his house, actually holding it open for you, this time. You could tell that he was worried about you, glancing at your grieved expression as you felt almost nothing but numb as the realization had hit you. He was going to cause your parents more grief after his confession, you couldn’t help but think bitterly.
“Sit down.” It was a demand, yet something in his voice sounded as if it were pleading. Curiously, you looked at him. Once again, he was biting his bottom lip, his hands clenched as if he was preventing himself from crying.
“Okay.” You said softly as you sat on the couch. You wanted to touch him, to hug him, and let him comfort you, yet you couldn’t. He sat close to you, though, and the action was rather comforting.
“I known them since high school,” He began, shifting himself to be in a comfortable position, eyeing the carpeted floor, rather than at you. Yet you listened closely with awe. “older adults who preyed on hurtin’ kids like me. They offered me a way out from underneath my pa’s boots, an’ I took it.”
“Older adults?”
“Yeah. Yakuza wannabes who plucked out fledglings for sport. Anyways, the group taught me how to fight, steal, sneak, and then allow me to crash at their homes. I was good at it, an’ soon, I began thrivin’ on my own, crashing at different hotels, an’ runnin’ with them. I grew to hate the fuckers, but it was the only home I’ve really known.”
You opted to say nothing as he continued, letting your hand to rest inches away from his as he glanced at it.
“Been doin’ gigs that they’ve wanted me to do. I never really wanted to murder anybody, but they sure as hell did. Laugh at the corpses of drug-dealers, robbers, salesmen, shop-owners…ya get the idea. They were a bunch of sick bastards, but they were my sick bastards. Then...this fuckin’ kid, all starry-eyed and hopeful, wanted to join.” Tai’s voice cracked, but he swallowed thickly as he continued.
“He had to support his ma. He’d start doin’ crimes tryin’ to impress us. He annoyed the fuck outta everybody else, but he took a shine towards me. I was the youngest, and my ego was easily stroked when some hotshot declared me as “big brother”. So I ran a few gigs with ‘im, helpin’ him get money for his mother ‘cause he was a fresh face, and wasn’t an asshole crone who thought he was better than me.”
“….” Your mouth was pursed as you listened closely.
“His ma was nice. Reminded me of mine. Cooked for me whenever I came, totally unaware of our lil’ activities. She helped with the orphanage and donated a lot of stuff. Anyways. Like Icarus, he flew up too close to the sun. Word got out about it. I didn’t get into any trouble, seein’ that I was the “baby” of the family, but….they didn’t like that a young, inexperienced hotshot bargin’ in on ‘em. When I came to his house to pick ‘im up for a job...the door was unlocked.”
“What happened, Taishiro?” You gently prodded. He looked worse for wear as he glanced at you.
“He and his mother’s throats were slit open, and the fuckers had the gall to stay and wait for me, and laugh ‘bout it. Laughed as I fuckin’ stood there, seein’ white film over their distraught faces. I couldn’t help it. I fuckin’ snapped.”
“You…”
“Did what I should’ve done years ago. Reached for the same knife, inspected it, and lunged it in the closest one’s throat. I hate killin’, but I felt like that kid and his ma could do some justice. Burned the bodies n’ place, never looked back. Course word got out that I wasn’t with ‘em, anymore. I found myself doin’ things what his mother had did, and felt as if I was atonin’ fer her son. How I should’ve left him alone, shouldn’t let ‘im get so close to me.” Taishiro finished, gripping the couch as you let everything sink in.
“His death wasn’t your fault.” You said. He sighed.
“I know that, now, but the guilt of how I easily murdered my comrades, and letting this kid prance around me while I knew that my former gang were murderers, shook me. Started findin’ myself turn towards thievin’, giving money towards the same orphanage that his ma donated to, and other charities. Dabi and Tomura found me, then. Knew that I was good at my job, an’ were good at shuttin’ up the police.” He finished, laying fully back with glistening eyes.
“Taishiro...you went through so much.”  You said. You honestly couldn’t imagine the pain he had went through, as well.
“I saw myself in ya. Goin’ through all of this crazy shit, your mind on the brink of insanity at the exhaustion as the ones closest to ya hurt ya. We both have nobody.” He shrugged.
“I have you, though.” You admitted, letting the words flow out before you could stop them. He then stared at you in surprise.
“Yeah, I guess we have each other.” He admitted it softly. Despite of everything happening, you couldn’t help but let out a small smile.
…….
He took a break from being a criminal the day after, the two of you just taking a walk in the park as he snacked, and you enjoyed the view around you. After both crying your eyes out in separate rooms, he offered to take a break away from the violence and hurt, if only for a little bit, and you agreed hastily.
“Whatcha gonna do when I’m gone?” You asked, floating beside him as he popped a piece of candy into his mouth.
“Don’t fuckin’ know. I’m twenty-nine, been doin’ this shit since fifteen.”
“F-fifteen!? No wonder why you’re emotionally stunted!”
“Oh, fuck off!”
“Wish I could do that. So? What about charity work? Or a job that requires you to be swift, like housekeeping!”
“Housekeepin’?”
“Yeah! I use to work as a housekeeper for the nursing home! It’s a pretty rewarding job.” You grinned.
“Pft. If ya went there now, could ya see the gho-
“Tai, noooo those are nice, elderly people! You can’t make a joke about them being dead!” You pursed your lips.
“What? You’ll have somethin’ in common, then.” He snickered, and you huffed.
“Okay, you blonde giraffe, do you have any ideas?”
“Probably work as a stripper.”
“You’re kidding.” You deadpanned, giving him a guffawed look of disbelief. He grinned at your expression.
“I don’t know, Dabi might hit me up. Might look good in heels.” He chuckled, but you were fighting with your dirty mind, trying not to imagine him looking at you seductively as the lingerie rode up- no! No!
“You can’t be a stripper, Taishiro.”
“Oh, an’ why not? Might be afraid of seein’ something ya might like?” He grinned sleazily, wiggling his eyebrows.
Yes.
“Nope! Do you even know how to dance? Or work your way around a pole?”
“Hey! I’d make a pretty damned good stripper!” He shouted, and you bit your lip.
“We’re in public, Tai-chan.” You said instead.
“So?”
“A bunch of kids just heard you shout to thin air that you’d make a good stripper.”
“Oh, shut the fuck up and c’mon.” He growled, yet there was pink dusting his cheeks. How cute, you thought.
………………..
Your two months left had slowly became one. His attitude had shifted into something calmer, friendly on some days, and it didn’t help your growing emotions. You liked him. You didn’t know if you loved him, but you knew that the two of you had helped each other, and made a great team. You wished that you could live certain moments forever, but not in the gruesome way some spirits did.
The missions had dwindled down as to your amazement and pride, he started doing more charity work, helping out Dabi’s girls and other places such as the orphanage through non-violent crimes. It was as if he was another different person, despite him still being snappy to you, it was a little bit softer. Of course he didn’t change over night, he had a lot to learn. Such as biting his tongue when there were children nearby, trying his best to keep his temper in check, and you, still being a little shit, but less, still liked to rile him up sometimes.
“Oh! I’m going to kill you!” He huffed, crossing his arms as you smirked, standing behind him as he made pottery for a small business, earning a little bit of money.
“Maybe next time, I should lift a penny for you to prove that I’m here?” You grinned, and he gave you an ugly, disapproving look.
“I’m not Demi Moore, an’ you’re not Patrick Swayze. Fuckin’ cut it out.”
“Whooooa~!” You started singing. He turned to you and growled.
“Don’t you fuckin-”
“My Loooooooove! My Daaaaarlin~!” You laughed manically as his ears and cheeks flushed red. Oh, it was a treat, you thought with glee.
“If ya somehow miraculously make it alive, I’m gonna make you sit through so many fuckin’ horror movies.” He huffed, turning his attention back the pottery. You smiled, seeing his ears flush with red.
………..
Fate didn’t want to give you a break, however. It was the day of Halloween, and you went back to the hospital, having another, dreadful epiphany. Fear churned within your gut as you tried your best to rush towards your body’s resting place.
“-doctor, please. I’ve already lost one baby...I can’t lose another!” Your mother’s dreadful wailing greeted you when you finally had reached your destination. The old man’s eyes held nothing but sorrow and sympathy. You glanced at your body. It looked pale and thin, and you knew that if you couldn’t inhabit it soon, it was going to wither.
“I’m terribly sorry, but it has to be done tonight. You and your husband have been grieving for the longest time, and Kami knows how long it’ll be until her body decides to shut down itself.” His gentle tone wafted over you as you clutched your chest. It was sooner than you’ve expected, but you felt oddly relieved and yet so scared.
You swallowed thickly and you rushed to tell Taishiro.
…….
“What?” He looked pale, disbelieving at you as the noodles slipped from his chopsticks.
“We have all day until night falls. So...would you like to spend the remaining time of my life with me?” You asked softly.
“Of fuckin’ course, Sweetheart. Where do ya wanna go?” He didn’t hesitate, and if you could blush, you knew that you would. You glanced up at him.
“Everywhere.”
………………..
The two of you just took your time as he took you to Disneyland’s Halloween theme park, enjoying your lightened up face with pure joy and innocent happiness for the first time since he’s met you. He was the only one who could eat, of course, but he delighted you in describing the texture and sweetness of each candy and treat, your eyes shining with your own memories as you replayed them aloud.
Of course there were stares, but for once, you didn’t try to egg him on. He was sweet to you, and you knew that he was crumbling on the inside. It hurt you, seeing him like this, yet the both of you wanted to spend your last moments together.
“Ugh! Damn it, it’s getting dark!” He shouted as the night had started to crawl upwards into the sky, and you knew that you didn’t have much time left. You were correct, seeing your ghostly arm burn brighter with white. Yet, you didn’t feel too scared. For over a year, this is what you’ve been wanting. The people you loved dearly, could grieve properly and move on, and you were more than willing to accept that.
“Taishiro.” You said slowly, catching his attention. His eyes widened with horror.
“Damn it! Y-you should’ve been wakin’ up! Why does it fuckin’ have to be you, huh?” He growled into a choking sound, trying to grip your arm, but no avail. You felt oddly peaceful as you stared into a teary-stained face, your body burning brighter as you looked in amazement. It didn’t hurt, but your fingers had evaporated into floating white butterflies, floating along loftily, as if seeking your body.
“Don’t fuckin’ leave!” He tried gripping them, but no avail, your heart lurched at his determination.
“I’ll never regret meeting you. In the next life, I hope that we can probably become friends. Perhaps something more. I hope that you have wonderful parents, and an amazing job. Please don’t lose hope in this life.” You said softly, more of the butterflies evaporated from your body.
“Y/n!” He cried out, gritting his teeth. You could only give him the location of you hospital, finally as your world floated to black.
