I am WITH YOU on the RAH. I was so excited when it first came out because I thought we would FINALLY have a nice pro shot of the stage show, but to me it feels like a watered-down version. I've never loved Ramin, although I don't think he's horrible, but I'm sick of everyone acting like they're the end-all be-all just bc they're all we have. I do still put the DVD on once in a while, but I just don't enjoy it as much as everyone else I guess. I almost prefer 2004 bc it was my introduction (1/2)

Also it makes me sad that Lindsay Ellis loves Ramin too bc I usually agree with all her phantom takes lol. Also also Ramin was way too young and phantoms are actually a lot sexier when they’re older imo. Give me old ugly corpse Erik lolol. No shade to anyone who likes Ramin tho, he is nowhere near the worst phantom, and I don’t mind Sierra. (Hadley…if it weren’t for the LND direction) (2/2)

Yeah, I mean I feel a bit bad whining about the DVD being a concert version but I understand why they choose to release this special version of the musical to the public, though it simply isn’t 100% the true PotO expirience and i just really wish they’d also release a pro shot of just the regular show with all the usual sets, effects and props.

I guess in general I also prefer my Phantom older BUT personally I have no problem with a young actor in the role when he can deliver the tone and quality of voice that the Phantom requires and has the necessary presence. And since the Phantom also gets makeup looking “too young” shouldn’t be problem either, at least on stage.

I think for example that Christian Alexander Müller was a wonderful Phantom! He was 25 when he did the role the first time 2005 in Essen, Germany, and I think he brought everything to the table that makes a captivating ALW Phantom.

And tbh I also was surprised that Lindsay Ellis likes Ramin! haha She always makes great videos and brings up very good points and I love that someone who makes such well researched essay videos is such a huge PotO fan! But there have always been a few points in some of her videos where I’ve disagreed with her.

And I really like Sierra, more now than when the market was so over saturated with her. I loved her on the OLC LND recording, I loved her Christine live, her Ariel was adorable. I like her voice and personality. Just her weird diction and nose breathing could get somewhat annoying when I listened to her too often.

WHAT’S YOUR OTP FOR YOUR MUSE?: Erik and Christine for sure (THOUGH I do not completely turn down the thought of platonic verses? I don’t know yet I’m still figuring out my set stuff for this blog)

WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO RP WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING?: Uhhh... I’m not the best at answering these because for me that’s really vague? But I guess I’m not big on rushing? If say, a Christine likes for a starter call, it’s not going to be instant relationship? He loves her, of course, but you know, I’m not going to bend the entire story to the will of a ship, and half of me hopes the other doesn’t do it either, unless it’s pre-discussed? Smut is also really iffy with this blog, as said I’m still laying down my laws, even for myself.

HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?: To start this I’m going to say my Erik is around 32-40 TBH I’M REALLY BAD WITH DECIDING AGE, but he’s definitely older? Anyone UNDER 20 it starts getting really iffy, anyone under 18, obviously is a huge no. So 20/1-Erik’s age is alright. Young twenties, I would say could be pushing, but considering the TIME PERIOD of POTO, I try not to mind it much.

ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?: Indeed. Normally, I’m a shipping hoe, it’s true, unfortunately and sadly true, but with this specific muse, I’m reserving myself and Erik as well. For the sake of keeping the character and keeping the story, shipping is extremely selective. If I do anything different than that spray me with squirt bottle full of bleach and hit me with a newspaper

WHO ARE OTHER MUSES YOU SHIP YOUR MUSE WITH?: Nnnnnnnnnnnnnah. None. Not really. I’ve seen Meg/Erik around I GUESS, but truth be told it makes me uncomfortable, seeing as I see Erik, when in the RIGHT VERSE, more as a weird/awkward Uncle to Meg more than anything else. So I don’t ship him with anyone but Christine. Say LND and I’ll hit you with a newspaper softly.

DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU?: I would very much prefer it yes. People who ask I hold high respects for, for obvious reasons. ARE YOU SHIP OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS?: I love E/C, don’t get me wrong, but I also like exploring other routes with other verses, AUs, and timelines. There’s a lot you can do with Erik’s interactions and dynamics between Christine (and other’s tbh), and I’m more than fine with shoving the thoughts of shipping away for just the characters and story.

I mean, I’d list all the other pairings, like Piangi/Carlotta but those are more of an OBVIOUS thing that is constant in the universe basically. It’s like, if you watch a show and these two characters are married and in love already does it really REQUIRE being a ‘ship’ in the technical sense of ‘I want these two to get together’ when they’re ALREADY together? Kinda the same deal with Raoul/Christine, because they ARE together. I’m weird and technical and stop listening to me.
