I think I'll be posting more here, since I deleted my IG (reel brain rot + plus it fueled a pretty unhealthy habit of mine), I was always tempted to document my time on discord rp and about my ocs, beyond just my art accounts. Maybe this is the place for it.
So to start, the community I started with was Standoffs, to my knowledge the biggest jojo Rp server, long before it had 100 members let alone its current 1000. This was the weird pipeline r/fanstands -> discord Fan Stands -> Standoffs.
Standoffs was the weird brain child of Moose, a mod who in a wildly unhinged act faked his own kidnapping, made a halo faction irp and was pretty weird and Juniper Pengold, one of the current admins, she's great. A bunch of people that joined never really tried discord rp (myself included) we just had these high concept charachters we loved, and we just, made shit up and trew them at echader. There was a genuine 'Child playing with toys they don't know the lore to' energy.
I had a few fights, my stands at the time were I think Lonly is the Word, Sign of the southern cross, Sabbath bloody Sabbath and there was one stand named after a constolation. Than. I joined the 'clans rp' just a generic faction based role play. What I joined with, was Angry Again, a stand which made a target hear a spacific ticking noise from a choosen location with no way to avoid it. That's all. I'd write
*The ticking noise continues*
and leave it at that. Annoying. Funny. Neat. The user was this, wildy depressed homeless guy called Vain George, his whole thing was he tought of himself as annoying and useless and thus choose to reduce himself to nothing but a part of the background. He was f i n e. He became a part of a duo with a charachter by HeyZell, at the time Cookie, later Dice, her name had some growing pains.
We both joined kinda late and picked the clan with least members, to be honest we were the only active ones for the time. We tried to do some detective work, but honestly we knew way too little about the Rp to ask the right questions... So here's the world.
Modern Day New Orleans.
Crystal Vipers- Nicknamed Sitcom assasins, 'the good guys' they are your usual misfit found family criminals. They had Moses the profoundly gentle and wholesome individual. They had a guy with 2 completlely broken stands becuase these were the wild days with no real approval system ran by Thomas, he's... We're going to talk about him :). Icy and J were in it with pretty standard charachters, note those two they're consistently chill and cool with everyone no matter the time period. Jake was in it too! And it was ran by JRD. He's chill I think?
Weird Mafia... Thing? - What you need to know first is it was ran by Moose, the owner who faked his own kidnapping. And this clan was whole hardely stupid. They had just random over powered bullshit and they, and I'm not kidding avoided the events of the Rp by hiding in an elavator.
House of the rising Sun/Men without hats. These. These were the cool villians, they were silly and insane and there was so much to it. The main villian who was a priest who's village got hit by a meteor and felt spited by god spacificly and went on a crusade using a gambling house and a stupid over powered 3 act stand Bible Black -> Tear of a Godess -> Lateralus. Alot of them were genuinly cool. Except every Scrungo charachter. Scrungo we'll talk about extensively, soon, even.
Bizzare Agency. They were ran by Riux, he's chill, they just never had the members to pop off, until me and Hazel (HeyZell) popped in. It had, 3 time stoping vampires, a way to share stands and some other bullshit we didn't bother with. Also a way to auto upgrade stands I think? Honestly by the end which is the point where we joined everyone had some over powered bullshit as a way to upgrade everyone.
So alot was happening when we joined, alot of moving parts. Next blog I'll go into everything that was happening. It was, alot. I'll sleep now, re read the channel archive and tell you all the stories and legends of old.

Taika Elwood
TAIKA MY SWEET MY SCRUNGO
-----
I have so many 3rd-4th years lets go cracks knuckles
For the first example I offer you
Zara Destok
Zara is the typical jock archetype, one that fits pretty well with Taika imho. And while he's a second year due to being held back , he's likely known her since their first year for her activity in the sports field. They're both a bit thick skulled but it is a known fact Zara likes girls that are taller than him and are muscular. Hence. Taika, even if not a chosen partner could easily have been one of his interest. Always in his radar.
He respects taika for her abilities greatly, and I like to think they're on positive terms.
---
Archibald D'bullion
Listen. I don't have much reason for this aside from big lady jock thats confident and does everything vs even bigger guy that does about nothing in his dorm and feeds confidence.
Hed be her hypeman!!!! Idk i think it might be cute.
---
Husani Kamel
I just. Malewife party girl and girlboss that has a job. Its funny in my head.

Something I've noticed in Garden Warfare is that Sunflowers always seem to stick together. Like when they see each other in a game they'll hop together a bit, do some emotes and then start healing each other and only stop to quickly heal others that they pass. I think its lesbianism, I mean look at her,
This plant is homosexual regardless of whose playing her. Also the healing beams come out of her hands(?) So its almost like they're holding hands when they heal each other!
In all seriousness, its probably just cause that Sunflower is actually able to defend herself unlike so many other healers in multiplayer games who are neutured in terms of defense, meanwhile its not uncommon to see sunflower solo bosses, one of her big weakness' is that her ability to 'self heal' is tied to her heal flower, which is on a cooldown and can be killed (though it can be healed too) so having a buddy ensures constant healing regardless of heal flowers. Anyway thats all sorry about the impromptu scrungo/game analysis IDEHEGSV-
you could colourpick the butch flag from this plant!!

Not sure if you've listened to it, but if you haven't + given your proximity to D&D: The Adventure Zone?
Ah! I have not listened to any of it for real but I've been in proximity, for sure.
From what I understand: there are multiple seasons of this, including (but not limited to?) Ethersea (an aquatic campaign), Graduation (a magic school for heroes), Balance (is this the urban fantasy one? set in like. New Mexico?), the original one (based on Lost Mines of Phandelver, I think?), and whatever Aabria is DMing now. Let's call it The Aabria Zone.
The original one featured folks like Taako Taako (wizard whose life goal was apparently to invent the taco?), Merle (beach dad cleric I think), and... there's one more PC I've forgotten, I'm sensing.
There was also an NPC who I think may be a lich who was renamed to "Barry Bluejeans" because the players and/or DM thought the original name was dumb? There's an Encyclopedia Brown-type kid detective whose name I have forgotten. Fitzroy Maplecourt (?) is a person who exists. And someone named Aubrey, I think. (I don't know which campaign.) Also there's Lup? I think she may be trans? And is possibly fire-themed? Or maybe death-themed? There's definitely someone who's fire-themed and also there's a lich and I think there are lesbians involved. Also dryads at some point.
Also (very important) there's Garfield the Deals Warlock, who works at Fantasy Costco (where all your dreams come true, got a deal for you🎶) and at one point sold the PCs the "Slicer of T'Pire Weir Isles" which could be traded for another item upon a successful Persuasion check. And one of the PCs bought this item and then promptly traded it back to Garfield (the Deals Warlock, who I am to understand is not in fact a cat but is often depicted as one) for a highly overpowered sword which he then used as cosmetic decoration.
Oh! And there was an NPC that Reddit made up for one arc where the DM (not the usual one, I guess) was introducing a ton of random NPCs in every session. Like the Blorbo before Blorbo was a thing. He was a tabaxi but also he could fly I think. Grung or Gloog or something. Scrungo maybe.
And that's what I know about The Adventure Zone!
#the adventure zone#taz#asks#ask meme#thanks for the ask!#there are ah... some other things i heard about in the sarah z video#which is where much of this knowledge comes from#but i'll refrain from speculating#edit: oh it was Bingus#and also i forgot amnesty

i actually named my abra rincewind because they only know teleport when you get them but now he's an alakazam and he's the powerhouse of my team
I THINK IVE DONE THAT IN SOME GAME OR ANOTHER TOO or actually it may have been that the abra was already rincewind in sumo which was why i named my wimpod something else
extra funny because you get one as a psychic type for the fighting type kahuna, and the kahuna is about level 19 and abra doesnt learn any offensive moves until level 21. if that’s not a reflection of rincewind in a video game then i don’t know what is.
#BY FUNNY I MEAN PAINFUL. DEEPLY PAINFUL#i'm sorry i'm thinking about rincewind again#sage's ask#sage speaks#scrungo

Lately I've been really curious about "funnel" games - these are games where you roll up a whole bunch of randomly-generated "level-0" characters with no special powers, and you stick them in an extremely dangerous situation. The idea is that most of them are probably going to die, but the ones who remain are - idk - forged into true heroes or whatever. I'm not as interested in that part.
The part that I think is interesting is how these are not carefully crafted characters that the players are deliberately building. Instead they're basically blank slates and the session slowly reveals who the characters are via the outcome of rolls. I wanted to try to make a game that would lean into that and make it more interesting than just "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger".
I thought the Supernatural universe might be an appropriate setting for a funnel game - thinking of eps like 11x01 or Croatoan or 5x02, where there's a whole bunch of more or less ordinary people who get into dangerous Supernatural stuff and hunters aren't always around to save them. That's how a lot of hunters got their start, right?
So I wrote up a whole bunch of rules based on and ran a playtest tonight.
The characters with a red tint are dead, so a pretty lethal game!! A few of those are NPCs.
The characters mark with yellow dots were Anthony's characters: * Gene, the piano teacher who knits for fun (tried to stab a ghost with a knitting needle - it didn't work) * Lex, the Philosophy professor and gardener (successfully talked a ghost out of killing her, then hid in a chimney to escape a bloodbath) * Cassie, a student and WoW streamer who streamed her own death The characters with green dots were Jack's characters: * Scrungo Bepis, a movie-loving construction worker (bravely fought off the ghost who killed Cassie, then used her Twitch audience to get additional ghost-fighting tips) * Walter the White, a maintenance worker and hiking enthusiast (slowed a demon down long enough for the others to get away) * Succulent Steve (a nurse with a survivalist prepping hobby, who discovered hidden talents for lock-picking and judo) My idea was that you started out with nothing but a name, an occupation, and a hobby, and you could gain additional skills over time by trial and error or by remembering skills from childhood. But in this session, only Steve was able to take advantage of that. Playing into Supernatural's sort of bioessentialist nature, you could even learn that a character has a "heritage" such as psychic, vessel, monster, etc etc. (In this game, none of those heritages make you innately evil or less human.) But that roll never came up. I think one session is maybe too short to get the "character discovery" aspect that I really wanted.
Anyway, still very early in the playtesting but it was fun. Next I want to try a 2-3 session game and see if that helps the character advancement mechanics work better. I also want to try making a way to transfer "level 0" characters from this game into level 1 Monster of the Week playbooks...

I think it’s so fucking funny that tumblr funnymen get elitist about humor on this website.
“God (x) is so unfunny and attention seeking and it’s basically entirely a ripoff of (insert successful tumblr) .... anyways as I was saying...
