Pride proceeds the fall… yeah Dragon and Crocodile are good dads. But maaaybe a little unprepared when they have a super secure non-ambitious kid. Dragon made damned sure his kids (once he is actually the one doing the parenting) know they don’t need to impress him. And Crocodile, with his pride and maybe IRONICALLY a bit more eager than Dragon to decide that some of his earlier struggles were material circumstances/other people (he did nothing wrong in transitioning it was everyone else’s problem, etc.) is eager to use his own wealth and connections to set his kids up for success, and to take them *seriously*.

The kid likes chess? Baba will get whatever paperwork done to get that kid in the junior leagues. None of HIS kids will be unrecognized for ANYTHING they can do, won’t be passed over in ANY judgement. Not the dad pressuring the kid to be a scholarship professional athlete, the dad who makes sure his kids are always on the team or in the league that gets looked at for professional development opportunities. If his little girl is doing engineer-level math he is making SURE she is getting that recognition and education.

…which eventually leads them to having at least one adult child who is perfectly content with everything they’ve already accomplished and don’t particularly see a need to improve or seek out *new* accomplishments. They were X champion 3 years in a row, and Y champion 2 times and won 4 awards in Z. Thats enough for them. Theyre as good at X, Y, and Z as theyre really interested in working to be. Retiring at 20 sounds pretty good to them.

Crocodile and Dragon are at an absolute loss. Totally blindsided. Their kid has their whole life ahead of them and they’ve declared their intention to do NOTHING.

What you suggest sounds like it could happen in a modern AU setting though I suppose some of the things might exist in a canon compliant world as well.

I do like to imagine that Crocodile is trying to make sure that his kids have the best cards in life for whatever they want to achieve. He'll get them to school, he'll react to every interest a kid exhibits (if Luffy said "I want to play the violin" you can bet he'd get the best violin on the market and the best tutor shipped in to Goa only for the violin to end up in a dusty corner because Luffy wants to dig around in the garden instead). And if the kids want to set out to sea he'd offer to buy a ship, hire a crew, bribe whoever marine to look the other way, etc. *lol*

Every season they play for the Kaguya Cup, named after the mother of ice hockey who invented it eons ago with two sons on her hip ! Yeah sure we’ll go with that….

I present to you the Original FIVE: the Kumo Cloud, the Iwa Quake, the Kiri Mist Wraiths, the Suna Dust Devils, and the Konoha Leafs !! Sorry to actual Leafs fans but I thought about this for much longer than I want to admit and there is no other name that makes sense here. I just think they’re fun <3 (SO many translatable motifs and ideas and I can’t include them all here)

3-man units EASILY become lines. I thought about this and yeah . Yeah. Team 7 is still comprised of Naruto-Sakura-Sasuke OBVIOUSLY . there is no gender segregation in this AU because i chose joy and fun when dreaming it up. also they all wore 7 in juniors. 777. 7-UP line LMAO. jackpot line? Team 7. haven’t decided.

Naruto quick facts: winger, wears the C (eventually) undrafted in his first eligible year, taken 111th overall in his second (he was a late bloomer + canon-compliant asshole child era meant nobody wanted his ass!! Konoha took a chance on him!). Wore #7 he wears #1 because of his draft position and because he’s gonna be the best player EVER. <3 He thinks he’s normal about Sasuke (he is not)

Sasuke notes: winger, wears an A. went 1st overall. No weaknesses … the Perfect player ! except he is Not his brother Itachi who ALSO went 1st overall about 10 years ago. the world wont let him forget it . Itachi is now retired for medical reasons but works in hockey as a scout, but the comparisons haunt our little man… </3 Sasuke’s D+1 year he wasn’t ready for the ENHL and everyone started calling him a bust because he got sent down!! SAD!!!! Wears #77 as a Leaf because they all agreed it would be fair no one should have #7. Trade rumours to the Oto Thunder every season like clockwork because Orochimaru, Oto’s GM, originally tanked to get Sasuke in the draft and FAILED…!

Sidebar i believe in my heart that Naruto and Sasuke played for rival juniors teams; the Uzushio Tempest and the Uchiwa Flames…… let me cook here alright,.. i just think they developed an intense fixation on each other and got thrown out of games for fighting ! Ironically this rivalry unlocked their potential and they were in a heated scoring race thru the entire season…..

Sakura: undisputed center and the bus driver of this line!!! wears the other A! Drafted 7OA and everyone was mad about it because they wanted someone else. Wore #7 through juniors to spite them !! Currently wears #16 just like her hero Tsunade <3 Tactical mind, not naturally talented but worked hard for everything she has, an extremely effective playmaker… I think she is built like a tank… terrifying power forward Sakura…………….

They play for the Konoha Leafs obviously...! Theyre the cringefail girlies for about 2 years once they make it to the ENHL, godbless . Lots of individual flashes of brilliance but no long-term success and zero team cohesion as they are shuffled around. Naruto and Sasuke both have a go at being center but they both Suck at anchoring a line like that.. they aint made that way (to ME!!!) Konoha Leafs on the verge of collapse and wasting another 5-7 yrs of being mediocre. Then one day coach Kakashi decides ‘Hm. Maybe. i will make Sakura play with these two assholes.’ And the rest is history!!!!!!

Listen I just think she would corral their worst impulses and keep them in line…. I feel like she’s a very responsible and smart 2-way player and balances Naruto and Sasuke’s heavy offence out. They get really dangerous the moment they settle into their roles. 777. JACKPOT!!!!!!

DESIGN NOTES

In-universe, the above design is a 3rd jersey nodding towards Konoha's heritage. Prior to becoming the Leafs in the ENHL, they were the Demon Foxes!

WHY did i choose a third jersey…? This idea popped into my head when i heard rumours the ducks were leaning into their orange county ties in the rebrand and i thought ouuuhh you know what would fuck severely… naruto x ducks brand collaboration…… oramnge…. I love orange <3

Anyway Naruto had his heart set on being a goalie before tragically being moved to forward (the skaters …they YEARN for the pipes!!!!) so he wraps his stick in that insane goalie knob style <3 Where did you get that red and blue tape from Naruto…. C’mon now don’t be shy …

Blade is orange taped bc Naruto loves orange so bad. There are various ideas about white sticks/white tape being harder to see against the ice and i think he’d like the idea of taping his blade orange bc the doesn’t need that competitive advantage lol

Konoha home jerseys are green/brown/white/red/blue (think something closer to the Jounin flak jackets) More on them later mayhaps…

Out of universe, I based the colours and design elements largely off Naruto’s outfits over the series. The black and orange is a nod to his first outfit in Shippuden — note the black on his shoulders cutting across his chest and the shape language of the piping on the abdomen.

The red piping is because reaaaalllly wanted to add his Hokage robe flames but i tried it and thought it looked lame as HELL . So i suppose we will save that for a specialty jersey somewhere down the line (many thoughts… many many thoughts….)

The blue/white/red on his skates, sleeves, and gloves is an homage to the Uchiha, who had a hand in founding the team + have people within the org. I imagine the Uchiha clan as this, idk, juggernaut of hockey dynasties…!! A finger in every possible pie. Maybe they have partial ownership of the team. They do equipment manufacturing (gloves, skates, tape!), PR, scouting… everything!!!

Shoulder patches are Uzushio’s whirlpool insignia.

The ribbed neck guard is a reference to Naruto’s first jumpsuit design. He definitely thinks he doesn’t need a neck guard until Sasuke mentions that they’re kind of cool — a blatant manipulation to get Naruto to wear one. <- they are unwell about each other you see

Naruto tapes his hockey socks different every time for good luck. someone said variety is the spice of life and then he heard somewhere else that spicy foods promote longevity and his wires got crossed and now he thinks of variance = spice = a long playing career.

when hajime announced that he was going overseas with tooru, tooru had thought he meant it in an oblique way, as in: i’m going overseas too, but to a different country; or, i’m going overseas with you, to study bio-engineering at the nearby university — which would have been more out of left field than what actually happened, but since that hypothetical turned out to be off base, there was no point dwelling on it.

(so maybe leaving japan felt like running away a little bit. maybe he felt a little guilty about dragging hajime through years of volleyball. not that guilty, obviously, since hajime clearly enjoyed playing, even if it wasn’t to the same degree that tooru enjoyed it. or so he thought.)

what tooru needed to process was the fact that hajime had chosen to pursue a career as a volleyball player. in a professional league. on the same team tooru had made plans to join. in argentina.

at that time, he’d felt a little like his spotlight got stolen, but hajime had never shown signs of wanting the sort of attention that tooru craved, so tooru supposed he could be generous in this case and learn to share.

“dumbass,” he could imagine hajime’s voice running commentary on his thoughts, a fond note threading through it as he says, not unkindly, “stop thinking the world revolves around you.”

when the time came to go, tooru thought they’d burst onto the scene like a display of fireworks, dazzling everyone with their skills and unbeatable teamwork. hajime, more realistically, told him that he was being stupid and they’d only just lit the match, not even the fuse.

“fireworks fizzle out and die almost immediately, anyway.” — iwaizumi hajime, oikawa tooru wrangler and best friend.

he hates to admit it, but hajime might’ve had a point. between living in a country he could barely communicate in and playing with a professional team who were leagues above him in hindsight, tooru had been woefully underprepared and immediately overwhelmed by … well, for lack of a better word — life.

still, when he boiled it down to the microcosm of the two of them, it’d taken them no time at all to settle in and figure out a routine. tooru suspects that he would’ve been worse off without hajime by his side, which was a stupid thing to doubt from the beginning since it was a foundational principle of the universe that they were better together, but he was especially thankful for his best friend in this specific phase of his life.

the thing about them is this: tooru keeps shooting for the stars, hajime keeps him grounded. they were icarus and someone icarus should’ve had around, probably, because tooru may not have wings of wax but he was prone to burnout all the same, and hajime was a rational person who had twenty years of experience dealing with tooru. the point is that however they worked, they worked.

(sometimes, he wonders if hajime would have come to argentina if not for him. and then hajime kicks his ass at practice, which leaves tooru with other things to worry about, like keeping up with his best friend who he may potentially have dragged here and was now showing him up, the ungrateful son of a lovely pair of mothers.)

but life goes on. tooru grows up. he stops begrudging hajime his moments of being right, too occupied by the list of worries that refused to stop growing. practice continued to be grueling, matches were always unpredictable and therefore stress inducing, hajime remained by his side.

the world may not revolve around me, tooru thinks to himself, but iwa-chan, sometimes it feels like you do.

time passes. at some point and despite the lack of conscious input, tooru has a paradigm shift. he doesn’t know when he reached this particular conclusion: maybe he woke up one day with it, or maybe it struck him at training, or maybe he was scrolling through social media one day and read an inspirational quote that led him to the thought:

if hajime came here because of me, then i have to take him all the way to the top.

the worries shifts into resolve.

“as long as we’re together,” tooru remembers a younger version of himself saying, writing their names out next to each other, “we’re invincible.”

when it happens, tooru doesn’t remember the time that passed in detail, can only recall snapshots of moments, hajime by his side in every significant portrait.

“i had no idea the view from up here would be so breathtaking.” hajime admits, flushed with joy and pride and victory.

when it happens, it feels like everything else pales into insignificance. because what happens is this, in order of importance: hajime is by his side. they lift the trophy into the air, and it’s not like fireworks at all. the feeling doesn’t dissipate or fizzle out, instead solidifying into a mass of satisfaction, not unlike resolve. their eyes meet, an ace and his setter.

iwa-chan, he thinks as his mind works rapidly to process the new paradigm shift, maybe i’ve been revolving around you all along, too.

“i told you i’d bring you here,” tooru grins, filing that thought away for later. he wraps an arm around hajime, keeping him close. “and we’re not done yet. this is just lighting the match, remember?”

how they handle injuries drive me UP THE WALL. like i personally assume teams start actin like this when theyre in hopes of playoffs when in reality its like . BABY. WE ARENT GOIN TO BOSTON. PUT THE STICK DOWN.

to make this about the sharks (you read my rankings, you know im like this) i constantly joke about the sharks being the healthiest team in the league cause all our players are out. like christ we have second most missed games on a per player basis at 459 man games lost to injury, second to vegas!

but i think its straight up because playoffs are SUCH a pipe dream for 19-wins-total san jose sharks that we dont HAVE the same pressure to play with torn muscles or broken bones. there is a reason why mackblack CAN have his 72 hours of purgatory (3 day long fever) out compared to teams who are noted to have locker room wide sickness and still getting in board battles. i think we should expose mackblack to them kinda players before the preseason so he builds an immunity to whatever they got. yeah im basically trying to vaccinate him SORRY i am getting distracted

i think i finally figured out why geetas team irks me so much and its honestly really simple: geeta is a failed player character. does she love pokemon battling? yes absolutely this woman cancels her entire league to go throw down with schoolchildren

but, and here is the important bit: is geeta GOOD at pokemon battling? no, not even remotely. this is why her team appears to be such a clusterfuck - the levels are high, like a player feeding their team with exp candies and steamrolling gyms with pure force, but her team is mismanaged to the point of hilarity. shes like a kid playing pokemon for the first time. who cares about type matchups! tera-rock glimmora looks so cool! if it doesnt do damage, i dont want it! what do you mean im bad at pokemon? ive got six of them and theyre all high level!

honestly its really endearing now that i think about it. this woman claims she cant hold back, and i fully believe her on that, but the best she can do is just terrible. her bloodlust to get into an exciting fight just completely blinds her to the fact that she is TERRIBLE at it. and also, this just makes her relationship with nemona that much funnier - theyre BOTH idiots who are obsessed with battling. one braincell shared between the two, and it is reserved for Being Excited Over Pokemon Battling.

hi ! Im soo happy that you're enjoying them, theyre fun kids ! I ended up writing more than expected so please see under the cut <3

So the knights are a bit of a dynasty in terms of ohl teams. They've actually only won the memorial cup (best team out if all teams in the canadian hockey league) twice but if you look at the team awards. They were a bit of a powerhouse last year and swept a couple of their playoff series which is crazy. They're known for their player development and have produced a ridiculous amount of nhl players.

The sheer amount of nhlers that come from the knights is crazy, just the leafs for example have four currently on their roster in john tavares, mitch marner, max domi, anthony stolarz. The leafs president brendan shanahan is also an alumni. Other notable active alumni include nazem kadri (cgy), matthew tkachuk (cats), nikita zadorov (bos), bo horvat (nyi) and others but genuinely there are too many to list.

I am obviously leafs brained so if you want to talk about the mitch marner easton cowan parallel then welcome to the club! Cowboy first of all is beloved, drafted 28th overall by the leafs and largely considered to be a flop pick by the media, went on to put up a 96 point in 56 game season, as well as a 36 game point streak setting a new franchise record and winning ohl mvp. He then went on to score 34 points in their 18 game playoff run winning mvp for the playoffs as well. He is the first player to win both regular season and playoff mvp in the same season since mitch marner. He is an alternate captain this year, and made canadas world juniors team last year, and I love him.

Other notable players (TO ME) include:

Denver barkey: drafted in the 2nd round by the flyers 2023. NEWLY MINTED CAPTAIN 🫡, darling boy with the face of a doll. Was selected to be part of a collaboration with snoopdog and nhl enforcers??? has he ever won a fight? No.

Oliver bonk: drafted 22nd overall by the flyers 2023, assistant captain, and part of the 2024 canadian world juniors team. His dad played In the nhl for 14 years ! Noted worst aux on the team but seemingly unaware. Just seems very sweet and I like him :)

Sam Dickenson (number three london knights): drafted in the first round by the sharks but bc they also got mack this year he was kind of overshadowed. They also don't have anything linking them like a team usually would push for, probably bc of the fwd/defence divide and also bc mack already got a government issued boy best friend in will smith. I love him though, he was their baby last year and he's a brat bc of it. heart and soul of the teams social media

The Louisville Crash Course is a wild team. They debuted in my friend @callibones fan league that I still think about constantly, and swept the competition actually pretty hard! They ended up losing in the finals, if memory serves. Anyways, they're crazy. I change their origin story up every once in a while because I can never find the exact right starting point for them to feel cohesive.

Pitchers

Devious Denim (real name Levi Denim) is a cowboy and a bit of a fashion enthusiast. He comes from way out in the sticks and thinks it's really fun to keep his western gear up to trends with weird colors and patterns. He is, notably, the team's first ever pitcher, and is generally pretty stoic towards most. He has a little brother on a different team named Mal Jean, and when the two are together, they're practically inseperable.

Ranchez Drumsolo is, ironically, the bass player for a small garage band. They do everything in their power to avoid conventionalism and are generally a very chill guy.

Levi Massimo is a theater school dropout with a passion for the stage. He just got roped into this "blaseball" stuff for a fun side gig and got in too deep. He styles his outfits extravagantly off of the field, with a particular knack for costume design.

One thing that these three pitchers have in common is that they are absolutely all dating each other, although they won't admit it to the presses. They are commonly spotted out together, whether that be going to a fancy restaurant or hitting some local stores together. Pitcher polycule.

Batters

Riot Emily is a butch lesbian and also the best friend of Ranchez Drumsolo. She is the real drummer in their shared band. She's also generally a nostalgic person, and enjoys revisiting old places from her childhood with Drumsolo frequently.

Eclaire ████████ is a hardcore emo with a propensity for being difficult to pin down. He enjoys being disagreeable and flaky. Identity struggle central.

Staccato C. Daisy is a robot woman made from old junk and, most notably, has a head made from an old FM radio. Xe is happily married to Miss Chili.

Rad Bromeliad is a skater and general gym-goer. He usually travels the country constantly for skating competitions, but he's taken up the sport for a social media spotlight.

Jacob Fuzzy is both a gymnast and a werewolf. While he started in gymnastics and cross-country, Blaseball was his true dream. He has a troubled medical history as a result of his lycanthropy.

Miss Chili is being made of seemingly gelatinized soup, given human form. She is a teacher and a mother of two, and generally the most "adult" person on the team. She is happily married to Staccato C. Daisy.

2X4 Girlish is a mystery. They are four girls that seem to play as one player. Outside of the game, the girls still stick very close to one another and can only be seen talking to one another in a tongue unrecognizable to the rest of the team. When asked for comment by the media, they deliberated before one girl took the mic and flippantly said, "You know, just girl things," before taking the microphone and running. When the camera crew reached their location, they were nowhere to be seen.

Hallmark Fortification is a middle aged man with a hobby of doomsday prepping. He plays to keep his physique up in preparation for any weird supernatural shenanigans he has to face.

Lunkhead En Rose is a shark guy. A smooth boy, if you will. He takes pride in his appearance and general self care, and makes sure his teammates do the same.

Hamsworth Johannes is a particularly non-notable woman. She prefers a quiet life mostly, having worked boring office jobs for most of her days, but took up blaseball full time after retiring in search for friendship.

Deleted Ibon is a creature of void and static with a tendency to fade in between timelines and jump between realities accidentally. It has no control over this power. Despite this, it's generally kind, just a little confused.

Dern Becktabular is a professional blaseball player and has a hobby of being an arcade-goer. They played blaseball briefly in high school, but took a break for college to focus on their studies. They came back to the sport afterwards, and are generally a big brother kind of person to as many people as they can manage.

sorry to sound like a complainer today but the thing that really pisses me off about the american announcers continually referring to players by where they went to college (besides the fact idgaf) is

1. i feel like since these are grown women we should talk about the clubs that pay them and the leagues that viewers are familiar with

2. the usa is gonna have its first volleyball league starting this fall. why aren’t we plugging this? like this is an gold medal winning team that spends most of the year playing outside the us cause there’s no national league and we’re finally getting one but it’s crickets. idk if there’s controversy or beef or something since cable prefers to show college vball but idk i feel like if you’re gonna bring up how fun it is watch these players maybe also mention the fact they are playing in cities around the country this year? like piyannut panoy is playing in atlanta and best libero of vnl kojima is gonna be in salt lake theres also international interest why aren’t we plugging this?!?

Im assuming this is in response to my post about the Marvel x DC x Sweet Tooth AU that me n my boyfriend and best friend are working on bc I haven't publicly posted about any of my actual S2TH AUs 🤸‍♂️

SO reminder Im putting on all of my posts about it, this is by nature a no-powers AU. Vigilantes and heroes do not traditionally exist here but we do keep some of that heirarchy and structure we see from it.

Also, a lot of these thoughts are my own and not concrete yet because my AU partners are still watching the show (as opposed to me having watched it twice over now) so things are subject to change hehe

Our version of the world probably is a little fundamentally different in that once the Sick breaches all of the continents in modern day, it's actually a LOT slower to spread at first. This means that it didn't really hit globally, it kind of grew behind the scenes- as did hybrid birth. We know from the show that if you contain the Sick you contain hybrid birth (more or less) so the hybrids that were born in the early days were taken away from their parents and disappeared. The general public didn't know about this but some people began to catch on.

Enter: Justice League (Avengers?)

A group of adults who noticed the appearance and subsequent disappearance of hybrid babies, which also leads to learning about a literal doomsday virus growing steadily without the government warning the people. Most of them are higher up, government or scientists or parents of hybrid kids themselves. The Justice League are the ones who begin researching and doing detective work and overall just working towards both saving hybrids and finding a cure for the Sick.

They bring news of the virus to the public (or, depending what we figure out for the Marvel side, it could be the Avengers team that really takes it to the news) and things spiral from there. The further the Sick spreads and the faster it does, the more hybrids are born worldwide and the Government can no longer keep it secret. And hybrid disappearances are not only noticed, but prevalent. This much doesn't actually change from the show.

Enter: Teen Titans

Kids / Teens, most of them connected to their mentors or parents of the Justice League. These guys are frustrated with how hands off the League is approaching hybrid disappearances and take matters into their own hands. Imagine sort of like the Animal Army, working on the ground to free hybrids, except its a little earlier into the spread of the Sick; either right before or right after the Great Crumble. Some of them get cut off from their parents/guardians when they realize theyve been stealing their findings / research in order to go after bases keeping hybrids.

Enter: Young Justice

This is where the last born humans and the first few years of hybrids begin to mix. This is well after the Great Crumble now; we've got humans and hybrids that the Teen Titans rescued, or that the Justice League helped to keep safe, that aren't willing to live life in solitude or on the run. They're kinda like a more chaotic Animal Army except literally, animal. Theyre brash and ignorant and a little quick to jump the gun and run into situations head first but somehow they haven't died yet!

And that's. Kinda really all I've got so far besides the specifics on which characters are hybrids and which aren't. We haven't really explored where Marvel or X-Men come into play which is Ironic considering the AU started as an AU of Zenith and I's Marvel and X-Men crossover au thing. Thats mostly because we're waiting for everyone to know the whole story / finish the show first so we can properly discuss and share ideas!!

im so glad you are talking about natemac and cmd, i have been thinking about them plus amatts for sooo long because i love 1oa generational/best player in the world narrative parallels (my heart is still 12 years ago in prime sid/stammer/ovi etc best in the league world and like. to me sid cmd ovi tony stammer natemac.... mhm. mhm.) and they are so individually compelling already but cast Across from each other just makes everything so much more interesting

so my issue is w sid/ovi is ovi is not particularly interesting to me unfortunately like the sid/ovi of it all is a bit in the whole career-long rivalry, currently they ahve the most career points of active players (sid then ovi, fifty-ish point gap, the next is malkin who's three hundered-ish points back of ovi) a wonder theyre still going on this long etc etc but the most inticing part of it to me (notorious conhead) is how it mirrors cmd/am34 a bit in that cmd is the better player (like sid) but am34 is the better scorer + obviously they've been compared since am34 got to the league. BUT i think cmd/natemac is a bit more interesting bc they're more similar (to me) than am34 is to either of them + i think if cmd could chose a career between natemac's and am34's he's taking nate's every single time and i know whenever theres a tor-edm game its all hyped up but ifl there's just more w edm-col like they have the whole playoffs thing and the sidcros crush thing also i think it's interesting to play w the whole. fifteen year old connor tweeting about how jealous he feels when he sees teams lift the cup thing

thgeres something DEEPLY fucked up abt the Memorial Cup in a way the Stanley Cup simply cannot match actually ! and i’m sure many others have commented on this but i’ve never shut up in my life about an opinion and i’m not starting now!!

the teams . the teams… theyre like Stanley Cup teams in a lot of ways . good, well built teams are a healthy mix of older players who know how to lead + play winning hockey, and young, electrifying talent. only, because of the overage limit (3x20 y/o’s) any mem cup contender will lose their most important players to simply… ageing out. in the nhl you if lose in the scf, most of the time you will have another shot. the cup window tends to be open for as long as your stars burn bright. a Memorial Cup run, however, is the culmination of a few very short, intense years of building up and building up and then One Big Push to make it. and maybe you finally do reach the very top of your CHL league, maybe you WIN — but then the actual cup tournament is this insane, intense set of round robin matches . and if you lose a few games — no best of seven — that’s IT, your season is over.

and if you don’t make it.. if you don’t make it with that meticulously constructed roster… your leaders, 20 years old (nhl bound or not) won’t be eligible to play in the CHL next season, your next best/most experienced players, likely 19, will all be about to turn 20 and, by necessity, must be traded away so that the team can fit under the overager limit for the turn of the season. the best of the best of your players might be plucked from the fold by the nhl teams that have drafted them. could you imagine being one of the players left over? could you imagine being one of the guys turning 21? being part of the mem cup contending roster that made it so so so close and suddenly that cup you missed wont be in sight for another 4-5 years? doesn’t seem that long in nhl terms, but that’s an entire junior career. that’s 1/4 of their lives at that point hello. HELLO. teams that contend for a memorial cup… how many of them are still contenders the year after? and the year after that? i would hazard a guess that the number is LOW!!!!! memorial cup windows being 1-2 years GOD juniors hockey you are SO fucked up for this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

psg aren’t playing good football. there isn’t any other way to say it. compare the way they play with any other number one in other european leagues and it’s glaring. if i’m being being honest they’re playing worse than mid league teams in the premier league right now. they’re not really creating chances, there doesn’t seem to be any leadership, i don’t know what galtier is doing tactically at all. it doesn’t make sense. they are very on and off, theyre not in the best form and it doesn’t look like galtier knows how to bring it out of them. if they keep playing the way they’re playing, they can kiss the ucl goodbye. we have good players. we have some fucking great players. even on the bench we have great young talent. but the way we are right now, it’s not looking good brev. the champions league is the champions fucking league. we need to fix up. we rely way too much on our front line when our back and midfield are lacking. severely. we were getting played by the montpellier striker today and this is montpellier. imagine bayern??

it’s not all doom and gloom, we do have some strong suits and i guess three points are three points but we cannot make it far in the champions league (which is all psg is really focusing on rn) if we keep on this trajectory. we get lucky and we have messi, i feel like this is what galtier relies on when we have other great players which aren’t being maximised. the fact that we didn’t make strong moves in the jan window (hakim notwithstanding) when we have a midfield HOLE is shocking. the club relies too much on luck and mnm which is a horrible tactic bc look at what can happen when 2/3 our out like today. like in the beginning of the year. the only good game we’ve played this year was against a sunday league team like ??? what’s the point of being and oil club if you can’t make money moves lmaooo
