they're so fucked up and they've hurt each other a lot but they're also soulmates in the sense that no one understands each other like they do (except for like. tommy who knows wilbur better than he knows himself but also wilbur will hide things from tommy sometimes in some attempt to protect him that he won't hide from quackity) . it sounds dumb but wilbur couldn't really be in a relationship with someone who hasn't known him for so long, back in high school, like quackity has.

their whole fucked-up situationship in high school is essential to their relationship later on because they've seen each other when they were at their weakest point. not necessarily their darkest point so to speak cause well there's a lot of those, but the point where they had the least agency, cause well, they were kids. and this is so important because they're both showmen, they both create and discard facets of their identity to shape themselves to those around them, especially in relationships.

quackity was so dead set on the future and getting the fuck out of this town and finally becoming who he wants to be (smart, successful, rich, and someone who's finally seen as a man, who isn't constantly underestimated) while wilbur was barely hanging on and drinking and smoking and putting on this "troubled kid" persona so people were scared of him, didn't try to get close and risk hurting him, and had premade expectations of him so he could never disappoint them.

that's the state in which they leave each other, how they remember the other, even though they get to know each other on a much deeper level than that.

and so when they meet again years later, and quackity is this successful self-made man who graduated law schools and goes through relationships faster than through shirts, and wilbur is this docile quirky guy who claims he's trying to grow from the asshole he used to be in high school, they both see through the other's bullshit.

wilbur sees that quackity's miserable, that he still feels weak and underestimated and he's craving respect which is why he keeps searching for it in new relationships. he's built himself up from the ground but he still isn't confident, he's still haunted by how he's been hurt and he hopes that if he gets bigger, stronger, better, that he gets more successful and makes something more amazing, someone will finally stay with him.

and quackity sees that wilbur's trying to fit himself into a tiny tiny little box to deserve any scraps of love anyone's willing to give him, even though it hurts like hell. and he knows that he was never truly an asshole in his teenage years, that it was all a defense mechanism, that he was a terrified, suicidal, lonely and abandoned kid desperate to protect himself and his brother, not the villain wilbur's trying to make himself out to be (wink wink ghostbur desperately trying to get away from alivebur by portraying him as a villain just like everyone else did. when theyre the same person. and neither is a villain)

they both portray themselves as someone's who's grown and improved and only they know that "growth" is bullshit, that they were miserable back then and they still are. im gonna jump off a bridge

GLAD YOU ASKED! im not sure if everyone who follows me is already aware, but i'm currently working on a project called No Honour Among Thieves, @nohonourvn here on tumblr and on twitter. part of my wanting to even create such a game as NHAT was the fact that i struggled so hard to see myself in most vn mcs - ones that were visibly pictured could never do it, since im genderfluid and poc with alt fashion, so asking for an mc that looked like me was a reach so far i had to stretch first, and ones that didn't show an mc visually would usually be extremely plain - since if they dont show the mc they usually do it so everyone can project onto the mc, and they try to give them no personality either for the same reason.

personally, though, i find a personality-less mc extremely boring and would rather an mc i cant project onto visually than one with the personality of a wet sock. so, with my mc for NHAT, i decided to leave them faceless so people can design them any way they want, but im working on giving them a pretty distinct personality so they fit into the world i've created better.

nhat mc, or as i like to call them, The Villain, is confident, witty, takes no shit from no one unless they have something to gain from it, a bit materialistic, a bit of a glory whore, definitely a bit of an overthinker/overanalyser, kind of a flirt sometimes, competitive, perceptive, just a liiiittle bit of a tsundere, and very, very good at acting. (i mean, they're a professional con artist, they kind of have to be.)

the good thing about the villain is that because the entire plotline is based around a con, keeping secrets, n having your own agenda, even if you can't really relate to the mc much, you can always write it off as it being part of the act, the persona the mc wears for the job and for self preservation. obviously that only goes so far, but i think it gives a bit more freedom to players on what they want their villain to be like in actuality.

i already have B) i basically took all my favourite things about all my favourite LI's and split them into two characters: Xanthe Wilde and Mercury Jackson. Navin and Siren, the two major side characters who may or may not become love interests depending on the success of the eventual kickstarter relaunch, came later - long after i'd developed xancury and basically came into fruition while i started writing. they were originally just random names picked (navin was from a random name generator and siren was the first name that came to my head at the time) to be the contractor/xanthe's bitter ex, and the informant. hell, originally there wasn't even an informant at first, siren was just a name navin drops so the mc can recognise him as a power player, but i went back to it to flesh her out later. navin's character just kind of created itself when i started writing the prologue.

xanthe was the first one i created - when i went "what do i want my visual novel to be about?" the first thing i came up with was "i want to do a twist on seducing the hot mafia boss." the first twist was making them nonbinary, that was a must for me, then i decided to make them the type of flirty, shameless and highkey kinda evil character i enjoy knocking down a peg. naturally, i had to layer him with enough trust issues to fill an ocean, for the sake of the ✨slow burn✨ that i love so much, and make him slutty enough so it can feel like a whirlwind at the same time. they're so fun.

mercury came up when i was trying to figure out what this mafia boss story was going to be like. ive always been a slut for enemies to lovers, and figured that even if xanthe and the villain were TECHNICALLY enemies, bc the villain has to act like they like xanthe for most of the story, it wouldnt come with the same tension as straight-up hating each other. hence, the idea of a ferocious bodyguard came in - along with all the other traits i like in LI's that i didn't put into xanthe, like being brash, aggressive, blunt and rowdy. just a tad bit apeshit.

So, this variety of people gather for big wedding number two in less than five years for the same bride,,different groom. It looked like a political conference with the level of security and who was there. Why did they attend, as far as l know the paper said they weren’t part of the evening prepared, l didn’t see them there in the photos from that evening. They were at the wedding, why? If you’re all close friends why not go to the fun bit and socialize, have a few drinks and a dance. I’ll tell you why BECAUSE THEYRE NOT A COUPLE THATS TOGETHER, it’s a charade. There must have been some reason they went, especially l enjoyed the cheeky photo of Harry where he SOUGHT out the camera and grinned. That told this girl all l need to know. Something was up, and we may never know what the agenda was but something was up!

When one says look at the bigger picture here, it means take a step back from your situation, look at pros, cons, what you have invested into the issue and make the best decision that way. Here l think it’s literal, look at the whole picture, who was at that we’d and why. I have no answers but l think that’s one option.

Well l could say the stolen name SmartSets was a collection of things that fit a very select few and a bag, that cost more than the clothes that the fit on was terrible. So sensible emptiness, PH has made a life changing, mane lives actually, decision that night at soho, and here we are today. I truly believe this description of sensible emptiness could apply to him, HMTQ, those who live both, their families and all of us who are loyal to the Crown and love our royals. I think this means quite literal don’t forget to take care of yourself, PH, sleep, exercise, eat well, check your emotions with those you love, do what you need to do to stay fit (and oh is he fit,😁) so as the clock needs to be wound to function well, these things are essential to him being able to function well.

We had a case, few years ago where l live, they wanted to build a casino in part of a local pub. Our city had a by-law preventing gambling and alcohol on sale in the same establishment. The first is obvious, we don’t want that but security will be very tight on the tour l am certain. The second plot, are we being told there is a sister that is missing and still being searched out? Or is this nothing to do with the novel and the obvious meaning, once you’re riding with the devil nothing good and only reviled happens. I am inclined to think maybe a bit of both.

… Cape Town closure

They officially closed the Cape atone part of the tour and flew out September 29,2019. I was going to say today but l know this is a worldwide blog so l thought l would put that in there. The itinerary has them leaving from Johannesburg, and returning to London. I am sure most of Cape Town citizens had no idea they were there, if they did, no one cared really.

The return flight, again commercial l am sure, back to London should be interesting.
